Do you have any favourite moments from the unit audios?
Hi Nonny!
Off the top of my head I have a few and I'm going to limit it to 10 or we'll be here all day.
Under the cut encase people dont want spoilers :
1. I really loved moment when Kate was poisoned by the Silurian venom and Osgood refused to leave her whilst Kate was telling her to run. In spite of the urgency, its was such a lovely moment where you saw Kate wanting to protect Osgood whilst Osgood wanted to stay and help Kate.
2. Any reference to Kate/Osgood in my pocket.
3. The moment Kate went 1 v 2 with the Tengubishi before being blasted through the air and into the Thames. It was just SO GOOD to see her sassy, confident and in control in spite of being out numbered. Top Kate moment tbh even if she ended up getting wet 😂 That entire ep was gold though. Her standing up to Sir Peter and refusing to let him command her - TOP GIRL POWER MOMENT!
4. Breach of trust as a whole. Because damn. It was an impossible situation. Help refugees and have your planet destroyed, or send a mother and child to their death? The episode really shed a light on Kates inner turmoil as a leader. She cares SO much about her people and her job but it comes with the devastating reality that you have to make decisions that sometimes get people killed, people you care about. I think they did an amazing job with this story because there was tension with Osgate too. They were both equally wrong and right in the arguments they had but again... impossible situation. We've never seen Osgood disobey Kate like that before.
5. Kate fainting or getting knocked out (because who doesnt love a bit of Blorbos passing out every now and again)
6. Osgood being so DAMN happy with Quintin the Quark ❤️
7. THE ELEVEN!
8. All of 10 minutes in Hell. It was SO well written and acted! It was the stuff angsty fanfictions are made of and I LOVED IT! Kates strength in the face of being LITERALLY TORTURED, Osgood's determination to save Kate in spite of people/ aliens fighting her and Josh and Osgood getting shit done (even if some of it was accidental 😂)
9. Action woman Kate fighting Cybermen tooth and nail whilst simultaneously being put in a situation where it was her mind vs Osgood's and ALL of her people were being taken out before her eyes. It showed the vulnerability of Kate behind the facade. Josh accuses her of being cold in regards to her people being taken/ killed but she has to stay strong as a leader and not show any cracks because crying about it wont save anyone in the heat of battle. The loss of control when Osgood locks her out of the system though... her anger/ panic/ sadness at having to go against the greatest mind of Unit, her own woman, is palpable.
10. Kate investigating her own murder - Further going into the vulnerability of Kate... Once again Josh asks her how she can be so calm at a time like this and she LOOSES it! She tells him she feels sick, she's terrified... her own body with a frontal lobe that looked like it was microwaved literally lay at her feet and she had to figure out WHO and HOW it was possible. Also River flirting with Kate 😍 and like 5 Kates in one room 😍😍😍😍
I could go on Nonny. The entire Unit series with Kate and Osgood is PURE gold. I literally have a shelf dedicated to them though so I might be biased:-

Sick Froggy (THSC Yaoi - Jordon One-shot).

This was based on the day 19 of my Stickmintines Prompt.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Criminal was running towards near the river at night, he was caring an bag with tons of money, he thought that he was going to escape that easy... But he was wrong, because in that moment when he let his guard down, John Frog Pilksin jumped right in front on him, along with his partners and best friends Amelia Turtle Esteban and Gordon Eel Banks, and a government helicopter appeared.
John Frog: Your not going anywhere mate.
The Criminal: (💭Fuck!)
Gordon Eel: Alright! Hand over the bag and put your hands in the hair, and don't try to trick us! You have nowhere to escape!
Amelia Turtle: *Grabs her communicator device* General! This is Amelia Turtle Estaban! We stopped the criminal! Bring up the force immediately.
General Galeforce: *From the communicator device* Roger that turtle, bringing back up right now, they should arrive in a few minutes.
Amelia Turtle: Alright general. *Turns off the communicator*
The criminal: *Grumbles angry*
John Frog: *Gets close to the criminal to put the polices wives on him* alright fella, your going straight to jail for what you've done.
The Criminal: ... *Sees the river* (💭Heh heh, i don't think so you sky-blue hair guy!)
In a quick movement the criminal grabbed John's arm and he immediately pushed him to the river, causing him to fall straight into the water, Gordon and Amelia were completely shock about what happened, and they grabbed the criminal's arms and put the polices wives on him.
Amelia: *grabs her communicator device again* Quintin! We got an emergency! The criminal pushed John into the river! We got to find him!
Quintin: *from the communicator device* Got it Turtle, I'll let you know when we find him!

After a few hours, the criminal was arrested, now everyone was back at the government camp, Gordon and Amelia were so worried about John, but they became more relief when they saw their best friend safe and sound, although he was wet and he was covered by a blue towel.
Gordon: Froggy! We're so glad your ok! We thought you were killed!
Amelia: Yeah! Thankfully the criminal was arrested, he won't be a problem anymore.
John: That's good to hear, I'm sorry for the big scare, everything happened so fast.
Gordon: *hugs John* that doesn't matter Froggy! What matters is that your ok!
John: Yeah... And i think a warm shower will help be get more relaxed, that river's water was so cold for me...
Amelia: it looks like it.
John: Alright, I'll go and take an shower, and the we'll see in the tend.
Gordon: Heh, alright Froggy.
John began to go the bathroom but during his way he began to cough and bit and sneeze, but he didn't give much to it and continue his way.
Back with Gordon and Amelia, the two guys were in their tend, it was a big tend with two beds, Amelia sleeps in one, while John and Gordon sleep together in another one, Amelia notice that Gordon was having and concerned face.
Amelia: Hey Eel, are you okay?
Gordon: Not really... I feel guilty of what happened to Froggy... I'm also worry that it might get worse...
Amelia: Hey relax mate, John is strong, he'll be fine, today was a really exhausting day, let's just get ready and go to sleep, maybe you'll feel better in the morning.
Gordon: ... Yeah... Your right Turtle...

It was like 3:48 a.m. and the trio of Bounty hunters were sleeping, Amelia was sleeping in her bed while John and Gordon were both sleeping together, they were sleeping peacefully until a weird movement awoke Gordon, he notice that his best friend was shivering badly, and his face was a bit red, this concerned Gordon more than usual, so the white hair guy got up form the bed and quickly went to find some blankets to warm up his best friend.
John: *shivering* B-brr... (💭I-I feel cold... Very cold...)
Gordon: *returns with a blanket* Hey froggy.
John: *slowly opening his eyes* h-hmm?
Gordon: I brought you another blanket.. *warps the blanket around John, making him more comfortable and warm.*
John: *Feels a bit more warm* T-thanks E-eely... *Coughs and sneeze* Achoo!!
Gordon: You don't sound too good Froggy, are you feeling alright?
John: A-a few hours ago i was feeling great... B-but now... I-I don't feel so good... A-and i-i don't know why...
Gordon: hmn... *Gently puts his hand in John's forehead, it was very warm* I think I have the answer Froggy..
John: R-really?
Gordon: ... You've came down with a fever...
John: E-eh??

In the next day at 8:30 a.m, John was looking way more awful than last night, he was seriously sick, he was feeling very weak and sleepy, he was feeling cold and hot at the same time, his body temperature was quite high, his face was more red than before, he was having constant headaches, and of course, he was tired despite not getting up from bed. Dr V was checking on John, putting and wet towel on hid burning forehead to cool it off while she was also checking on his temperature.
John: *lying on his bed with the wet towel on his head and a thermometer in his mouth with his eyes closed* Uuuuuuuugh..... *Coughing violently*
Dr. V: *pulls the thermometer out of his mouth* hmnnn... 42.7 ... Just as i thought, πá... *Turns back to the General, Amelia and Gordon* General... I'm afraid to tell you that John Frog has come seriously sick, he has contracted a really bad cold, so the best thing is that he gets in completely quarantine so he can't get his cold to the others and stay in bed for at least 3-5 days.
General Galeforce: Understood Dr. V, and thanks.
Dr. V: no problem general, and also takes this cold medicine, it will help him beat the symptoms so he can sleep well. *Puts a cold medicine bottle on the table* now, i should get going, I've got more patients to check for. *Leaves the tend*
General H. Galeforce: *Looks at John* Frog?
John: *weakly opening his eyes* G-general...?
General H. Galeforce: you heard the doctor, you won't be able to go on missions until you recover, plus you've contracted a really bad cold, so you'll be in quarantine until you recover because i won't let that you get the other soldiers sick, understood?
John: *Coughs violently* Ugh... I feel horrible to go anywhere... I won't move from here general...
General H. Galeforce: Good, now, stay in bed, and get some sleep, it will help you get your strength back.
John: *nods and sneezes*
General H. Galeforce: *notices that Gordon was extremely concerned* everything alright Eel?
Gordon: N-no... Froggy is sick! And it's my fault he's in this situation! I'm the one who should be lying in that bed! Suffering that cold! Not him!
General H. Galeforce: hey easy Eel, don't carry an weight that you don't have to carry, this is not your fault, nobody knew that this would happened.
Amelia: The general Galeforce is right Gordon, besides, John is really strong, he will be able to recover.
Gordon: I-I know... It's just that i hate seeing him like that... General, if you give me the permission to watch over him until he recovers..
General H. Galeforce: Are you sure Eel? Because i won't be responsible is you get sick too.
Gordon: i don't care! I prefer more getting sick myself than seeing John being sick!
Amelia: Wow man, you sound like you love John, Gordon.
Gordon: *immediately blushes* W-what!?? N-no! Of course not! Besides, John is my best friend!
Amelia: Sure bud, sure~
General Galeforce: Well if that's the case Eel, I'll allow you to take care of Frog until he gets on his feet again, just watch your distance and don't get too close to him, and wear a mask for the occasion, understood?
Gordon: Yes general, i understand.
General Galeforce: Good, now, turtle, go and tell along Price and Spencer to meet in my office for an mission they'll have today.
Amelia: Right up general! Good luck Gordon, and get well soon John. *Leaves the tend*
General Galeforce: I know that Frog will be in good hands with ya Gordon. *Leaves the tend*
Gordon: *Nods and then sees John, who was trying to sleep but a headache he was having didn't let him* (💭I have to be strong, for Froggy... After all... He's my soulmate...)
John was having a nasty headache that it was not letting him sleep well, he tried the best but it was useless, he was feeling so tired and weak to fight back the headache, but then he felt something touching his head softly, besides feeling weak John slowly opened his eyes and notices that Gordon was next to him.
Gordon: Hey Froggy...
John: E-e-eely... *Coughs* W-w-where's the... G-general and... T-turtle...? *Sneeze*
Gordon: They are outside doing missions, in meantime, I'll be watching over you until you recover.
John: B-b-but... I don't- *coughs uncontrollably* I-i don't want you get sick from me... *Sneezes*
Gordon: Don't worry about me Froggy, i don't care if I get sick, i just don't want to see you like this.
John: E-eely...
Gordon: Don't worry, whatever you need to get better, I'm on it.
John: T-thanks...

Gordon started to take care of his ill best friend, every hour he would remove the towel from his head and then submerge it on cold water and put it again on his burning forehead, John was actually enjoying how his best friend was taking care of him, it was really cute.
While Gordon was watching over John he thought something, it was like 1:30 p.m and John haven't ate anything, so he might be hungry.
Gordon: Hey Froggy?
John: H-hmn... Y-Yeah?
Gordon: I just thought on something... It's like 1:30 p.m and you haven't eaten yet, you want something to eat?
John: T-thanks for asking E-eely... B-but I'm not hungry...
Gordon: Are you sure?
John: Y-yeah...
Gordon: If you say so...
Suddenly, a hunger growl that came from John's stomach was heard.
John: ... O-ok... Yeah... I'm kinda hungry...
Gordon: *Chuckles* I knew it, what do you want to eat then?
John: ... M-maybe some soup...
Gordon: Alright, I'll tell Ma'am Camila to make you some soup, I'll be right back. *Leaves the tend*
John: ... A-alright... *His stomach once again growls of hunger* (💭M-man I'm really hungry... M-maybe not having breakfast was not a good idea...)

After 10 minutes, Gordon came back with some soup and grilled cheese.
Gordon: Hey Froggy, I'm back, Ma'am Camila made you some Potato soup along with grilled cheese. *Sits in the chair next to the bed* Also she told me to tell you get well soon.
John: A-ah thanks E-eely...
Gordon: Your welcome Froggy, now eat up, I'm pretty sure you're starving.
Jordon: I-i am...
Gordon carefully handed the spoon full of soup to John so he can eat, and when he tasted the soup, his eyes shine.
John: W-wow! T-this is actually so delicious!
Gordon: *chuckles* She knew you'll say that, because she knows how much you like potato soup.
John: I truly love it Eely... Thanks...
Gordon: Your welcome Froggy.
Gordon continue giving John the soup, and after a while he finished his meal.
Gordon: Well that's all of it, did you enjoy it Froggy?
John: Y-yes, i did... *Smiles*
Gordon: I'm glad you did. *Grabs the cold medicine bottle* Now have this, it will help you sleep with that awful cold.
John: A-alright... *Coughs*
Gordon poured the medicine in the bottle's cap and then give it to John, when he swallowed the medicine, he let out an "bleh" in disgust.
John: Bleh! T-that tastes horrible!
Gordon: Yeah, i know, but it will help you beat the colt symptoms so you can sleep well..
John: I know...
Gordon: *Notices a sad expression on John's face* Is everything alright Froggy?
John: I-it's just that... I hate being sick... It makes me feel... Useless...
Gordon: Useless?
John: Y-yeah! I can't go out fighting criminals when I'm sick, sometimes i feel like an outcast! Seeing the others fighting without me it's kinda annoying... *Coughs*
Gordon: Froggy...
John: I-i don't like when I'm like this... M-my body hurts so much... I-i can barely move... And I'm having terrible headaches! I can't keep going like this!
Gordon: Hey, hey, take it easy Froggy, i know how you feel, everyone hates being sick, but sometimes when you get sick you get some rest from all that work.
John: Y-yeah... I guess...
Gordon: And don't worry, i know that once you recover we'll be able to go on missions again... I know we will..
John: Y-your right... You are the best Eely...
Gordon: Thanks Froggy, know, you need anything else?
John: A-actually yeah... Can you be next to me in the bed please?
Gordon: O-oh... *Blushes* S-sure! Heh heh.
Gordon takes his glasses off, gets up from the chair and then he sat next to John in the bed, Gordon warped his arms around John, making him more comfortable.
Gordon: Are you comfortable like that Froggy?
John: Y-yeah... T-thanks E-eely... *Lets out a yawn*
Gordon: *chuckles* Looks like someone is getting sleepy, are you feeling better Froggy?
John: Y-yeah... T-thanks to you... F-for watching over me... Eely...
The cold medicine began to kick in when John started to fall asleep in Gordon's arms, Gordon by seeing his ill best friend sleeping peacefully it made him feel more relief now knowing that John was safe, ho se wrapped the blanket around John making him more comfortable and warm.
Gordon: *chuckles* Get well soon Froggy... And sleep well too... I love you...

During school, his teacher’s never knew what to do with him. Ever the class clown, cracking jokes and playfully teasing other students. The type of person that transcends high school cliques and is just friends with everyone. And yet he was also at the top of his class. When it was a subject he through enjoyed, he’d drown out the world and fixate on whatever the current task was.
Now that he’s out of school, he’s pretty much the same. Loves to get together with his friends, hit up comedy clubs and just chill out. When he’s alone at home, he’s often found working out in his garage dabbling in robotics or tucked into his favorite reading chair. He hates to admit it, but he is a bit of a slob. He has a bad habit of telling himself he’ll get to it later and then he’s out clean clothes...

Another fail date! The last was very specific (and you made it so much better!) this one I’ll leave more wiggle room
I took him canoeing down a river in our back paddock that lead to a billabong. Specifically told him not to get in the water (because various reasons) He thought he’d be cool and jump in anyway, telling me it wasn’t deep water and therefore not dangerous. I told him it wasnt the water he needed to worry about.
(Billabong might be a bit too Aussie, so you can leave that out if you want 😉)
Hey again concussed-dragon! The last one was lots of fun! Oh I am so intrigued by your billabong 👀 While I love the Aussie billabong twist, I'm going to roll with a different body of water because I couldn't work out a reason for our boys to fly to Aus. Maybe for their honeymoon? ;) I've made Stiles the accident-prone one recently so let's switch it up, shall we?

Setting the scene: The Quintin Pack (an old friend and ally of Talia Hale) reaches out to the Hale Pack after sensing something has been amiss in their territory. The Quintin Pack's alpha and emissary are away on pack-alliance-duties so have requested the extra assistance for the remaining betas. Talia sends Derek, Stiles, Boyd and Erica on recon. The team of four have decided to divide into pairs to cover more grounding but all within howling range.

"Dude, how long have we been walking around for?" Stiles groans, trying to stretch out the knot beginning to form in his shoulder muscles. He may run with the supernatural but that doesn't mean Stiles actually likes hiking.
"You're ridiculous." Derek huffs but all Stiles can hear in the tone is fondness. The fact that Derek Hale is his mate will never get old. But somehow the fates had aligned and the two of them had worked out that they were just meant to be, sass, snark, huffs and all.
"But I'm your ridiculous." Stiles quips back.
Derek rolls his eyes but also kisses the spark on his template so Stiles calls that a win.
They walk on for a while until they reach a clearing and a large lake. It appears fairly shallow and genuinely nonthreatening.
Derek’s nose twitches as he scents the air, “There’s something in the water.”
Stiles doesn’t fully register the statement, too distracted by his spark waking up. There’s something supernatural around and his spark is giving a warning.
"Derek, hang on a sec-"
"Stiles, the water literally comes up to my ankles. I'll be fine." And with that, Derek is stepping into the murky depths that does in fact only just hit his ankles.
For a split-second Stiles is wondering if his spark had miscalculated. That is until he sees a twinkle of light to his left. He definitely didn't imagine that. It could only be one thing. He spins back to the werewolf walking towards the centre of the lake.
"Babe! Get out of the water!"
But it's too late. The water nymphs have already detected Derek. The water swirls around the werewolf's feet, faster and faster.
Derek tries to move but the pull of the water keeps his legs locked in place, “I can’t move.”
Stiles almost rolls his own eyes, this is why it was always important to listen to the spark, “Water nymphs. I gotta find their leader, hang on." He ducks off towards the light he had previously seen.

After some skilful negotiations (because Stiles is a Boss), the water nymphs reluctantly agree to release Derek. They mostly just wanted to cause some chaotic fun… with maybe the accidental death or two. By the time the water nymphs let Derek go, the water has risen to his neck. Stiles arranges for the water nymphs to move on to other pastures before the Quintin Pack have to take more permanent measures.

Derek is wringing out his shirt and shaking the water off himself like a cute drenched puppy when Stiles finds him after supernatural negotiations are complete.
“While I am very much admiring the view, I think you have something to say to me.” Stiles smirks, leaning against a tree.
Derek throws the shirt over his shoulder, accepting he’ll go shirtless for the trek back before coming to stand in front of Stiles.
“I think you’ve grown cockier since connecting with your spark.” Derek says.
Stiles feigns shock, “How dare you insult me. Your hero and savour. Next time I should just let the nymphs keep you locked in their watery prison forever.”
Derek rests a hand on the tree just above Stiles’ head and leans in. Stiles can feel the ghost of the werewolf’s breath on his lips.
“My hero.” Derek kisses him, pressing himself more fully against Stiles.
Stiles enjoys the kiss, considers it a worthy prize for saving the day. That is until Derek is smothering him in a cuddle for the sole purpose of getting Stiles covered in lake water too.
“Get off me, you wet dog!” Stiles laughs but there is no heat to his words.
“But I’m your wet dog.” Derek grins, dusting kisses all over Stiles’ face.

Driving back to the Quintin Pack’s house, Boyd sniffs the air from the backseat none too subtly, “Huh, you really do smell like wet dog.”
Erica and Stiles cackle with laughter. Derek is less impressed, shooting a glare at Boyd who throws back his shit-eating grin.

The Dog and an Imp
It was just after sunrise, and the muggy Summer air did not stir as Felix and I walked through the wet grass. Last night’s rain quickly soaked into our shoes. The trees hummed with insects and above us lay the heavy bellies of dark grey clouds. Ahead, the horses grazed quietly in the morning shadows. With sudden alertness they raised their heads, ears pricked towards us. One snorted and another pranced, and within moments they took off at a run wheeling around us in a thunderous flurry of hooves, their manes and tails flagging behind them like pennants. My little mare was at the head of the heard, and she brought the others around us, narrowing the circle with each turn. She slowed and the herd slowed with her until finally they stopped to stare only a few paces away, nostrils flared and sides slowly heaving. We must have made a strange sight, appearing so suddenly out of the morning, that I don’t think the horses even recognised us at first.
I called to Nelly and Felix to Teddy, and the little grey mare stepped towards us, closely followed by a big bay gelding and then, of course, all the others. Our two horses shared this great paddock with another couple of bay geldings like Teddy, a miniature horse with ice blue eyes, and a palomino pony with no notion of personal space. We slipped the halters we brought onto Nelly and Teddy, and led them and their procession towards the gate.
A friend had offered a smaller, leaner paddock for my horses to live on over the Summer, and my horses very much needed it. Nelly’s belly is as round as a beach ball, and her back is so broad the Mad Hatter could have hosted his tea party on it. Teddy has the pot belly of an old man, almost fitting for his age. And his grumpiness. Their new paddock is within Cloudstrom, just over the river and a few streets away towards the north-eastern edge of town so Felix and I lead them on foot. My dog has waited patiently at the gate and wriggled with excitement as we approached.
Some maneuvering saw us and our two horses through the gate without any other attendants and as we walked away the other horses cantered and whinnied up and down the fence line, calling for their herd-mates. Teddy was completely uncaring as long as he was with Nelly and Nelly was only too happy to have some peace. As the only mare in the herd, the geldings were all besotted with her and could be very demanding when it came to getting her attention.
Neither Teddy nor Nelly had left their paddock in some months and were a little nervous on the walk. Teddy had a small scare when walking past a painted square on the road that reserved a parking space for the disabled. It took a few hesitant steps and some pronounced sniffing before he trusted the square wasn’t going to eat him. As soon as they were released into their new paddock they trotted around together along the boundary, sniffing at everything new. After they had settled a bit, Felix and I walked towards the water trough. I wanted to check the water was full and clean, and even show the horses where it was. They followed us over, filled with nervous energy. As we neared I heard a faint splashing coming from the trough. That was enough to trigger Nelly and Teddy who took off again.
Tucked up in a sheltered corner of the paddock, the trough was wide and shallow and never in full sun as it was shaded by the boughs of a great tree. Now, skimming the surface was a large froglike creature, which upon seeing us, used its long fingers to clasp the edge of the trough. It peered up at us with bulbous green eyes, a wide toothless mouth grinned, and its short tufts of hair lay lank across its head. With the sounds of a wet mop smacking onto a tiled floor, the creature slithered out of the trough and disappeared into a small muddy hole. A gurgled humming emitted from the hole, almost like purring.
“Quintin, what was that?” Felix had his nose scrunched up in confusion and disgust.
“A water imp,” I said with a giggle at his expression, “It won’t worry the horses, but I wonder what it is doing here all on its own? They normally live in big groups.”
“Do they all look like that? Like squashed toads with hair?”
As I nodded the dog chose that moment to dive into the trough. She lay down in the cool water, drinking as it swirled around her. An angry croaking echoed in the hole and the imp crawled out in a tangle of elbows and knees. Leaping up and down, the imp chattered its anger towards the dog, who upon spying the creature jumped out of the trough straight towards it. The imp disappeared once again down its hole, closely followed by the dog’s nose. She clawed at the hole, and stuck her mouth in as deep as she could trying to get at the imp. Suddenly she pulled back, her tail dropping between her legs. The dog shook her head furiously, but was unable to shake the imp who had its wide mouth clasped firmly around her nose.
She furiously tried to bite at the imp’s dangling body, but it flipped itself up onto her snout and wrapped its long skinny legs around her jaws. The dog ran in circles, tried to swipe the imp off along the ground, clawed and pawed at it, but could not make an impact on its tough rubbery skin. Felix and I were laughing guiltily at the dog’s expense, but after a few moments I called to her and she sulked up to my side. She looked past the rounded body clutched to her face and set her frightened eyes on mine. I gave her a reassuring rub on the head, then grabbed hold of the imp’s back legs with one end and squeezed the sides of its mouth between the thumb and forefinger of my other. The imp let go of the dog’s nose and I gently tossed the creature back into the trough.
The dog lay down, relieved, her tail thumping on the grass. A bubbled chittering could be heard from the water as the imp swam about, evidently pleased with itself.
Felix checked the dog’s nose, “you sure it won’t hurt the horses?” Finding no harm, he gave the dog a friendly scruff around the head.
“So long as they don’t try and take a bath I think they’ll be fine.” Felix returned my smile and held his hand out towards me. I take it, and with the dog at my heel we began our walk home leaving the horses grazing and the water trough sloshing.

I find this price simply too high, also the scenery does not justify the enormous costs anymore.as I am I'm so frightened that I have to fly in the last load. The waterfalls are a wonderful sight. But now the water has enclosed us. We have resigned ourselves to it.

It is the path of turquoise water, golden beaches and gently bobbing tree ferns, making you feel like you are in paradise. We hike from Anchorage and look out over one of the most beautiful stretches of coast in New Zealand. Transfer either to Motueka or Nelson and overnight in motel. From the pass we walk downhill at a leisurely pace for about 15 minutes before the trail drops steeply to Roaring Burn stream. This is a descent of 870 metres over seven kilometres! Moraine Creek Bridge, the first bridge on the descent, is about a third of the way down to Quintin Hut. Shortly afterwards you cross the river over a long suspension bridge, from which you can often see trout and eels in the clear water. Another bridge crosses the Mckay stream. On the second day, after about 6 hours, you reach the Mintaro Hut through moss forests, steppes and rainforests. The third stage leads over the 1,073 m high Mackinnon Pass with views over the Fiordlands, past numerous waterfalls and over several suspension bridges to the Dumpling Hut. The 14 km long trail (6 to 7 hours) leads along Lake Ada, a side trail leads to the Sutherland Falls.

DRRM KWENTUHAN
I went to our province's barangay hall, which is located in Barangay Alac, San Quintin Pangasinan, and was able to interview Brgy. Kagawad Manolo Vidoya. He told me that most of the disasters in the barangay happened long ago and there are very few cases of recent disasters. The prominent disasters that occurred were earthquakes and typhoons.
He told me that those who are most vulnerable to the disasters, especially to typhoons, are those who are living at the low lying areas due to flooding, such as barangay Nangapugan. He also said that this is the most dangerous place in case of typhoons and earthquakes because located in it is a river which has the possibility to overflow. He also told me that from the earthquake that has happened years ago, during the year 1990, many people had died and houses were ruined. On the other hand, he said the the safest place was identified to be the place where the evacuation area is located, which is the San Quintin Elementary School. He told me that what causes the devastating effects of disasters is the lack of awareness of what can be done during them.
He told me about the projects that had been done to prepare the community if ever there are disasters. They have conducted drills about what should be done and where to do during cases of disasters. They also made sure that the fire fighters and policemen are ready to take action in times of disasters. Whenever there are warnings of an disaster occurrence, they also made sure to evacuate the people who are at the dangerous areas. They are said to prepare for the barangay's recovery by preparing for the evacuation areas and by aiding the people who are affected by the disaster. These projects were said to have been lead by the office of the mayor of Pangasinan.
From the answers that the kagawad has given me, I think that the barangay's main issue is that they are not that prepared if ever an unexpected calamity would come. Since they are already used to having little or no disaster at all, they have only minimal plans for disaster preparedness. I think that what the local government could do to address these issues is to put more of their efforts in conducting preparedness plans since they are not aware if ever a large disaster would strike the place.
I can relate these issues to the disaster situation of the Philippines since I think the country too, has belittled the possible effects of the calamities that happened then. Due to this, the effects of the past calamities has been disastrous. Just like was has happened in Mindanao for the past few days, since the government overlooked that a big earthquake could also strike places other than Manila, devastating effects have again occurred. Although we were very prepared for the large earthquake in Manila, the other cities were not included in the preparation just because there were no warnings of an impending calamity.
As I have conducted the kwentuhan and community walk, I have realised how important disaster preparedness is. I believe that it would be so much better to be prepared for nothing rather than not prepared for a disaster at all. Furthermore, not preparing for a disaster entails that lives would be lost and that shelters would be ruined. I have also observed from the community walk that the streets were clean and the drainage system are working properly. I think that this are contributes to preventing worse effects of disasters such as typhoons.
It is essential that we get to address issues of disasters in our country because if we would not give our attention to it, we won't be able to do something to prevent it devastating effects. It is also important to prevent these disasters because they could greatly cause havoc to the lives of the people in the community. Calamities are inevitable but we can do something to prevent it from being disasters. I believe that we can address the issues by being more aware of the extent of their effects. Through this, we would know how much should we prepare and what we can do to be able to lessen its devastating effects.
As a member of this community and of this nation, I think that the possible solutions to address these vulnerabilities is to spread awareness. I believe that ignorance causes people to be in more trouble that they originally were. We should be able to share our knowledge about what should be done before, during, and after each disasters. Furthermore, we should be able to participate well in the drill and programs for disaster preparedness. It may be hassling for others to participate, but it is essential since they could greatly help us decrease the effects of disasters. Also, as much as possible, we should be able to give our suggestions about how the community can further improve the plans for disaster preparations.
