Hello all! I am posting my bootleg list here for now as a temporary list until I get my website up and running- I am open to trading! I’m mainly looking for any Cats production- preferably English or Dutch but any musical would be nice to have and expand my collection.

NOTES: Two days before the show closed on Broadway. Good amount of closeups and good quality filmed from the mid-mezzanine; there is a railing issue for a while in Act 1 but the taper improves. 'Me', 'Gaston' and 'Be Our Guest' are all predominantly missing and recording stopped for some time after 'Gaston', which created a little jump in the timeline to where Maurice gets thrown out of the tavern. Still a nice video with great closeups of the last Broadway cast.

Creating a Cover, by Peter Thorpe

Peter Thorpe is a master illustrator and designer with a long and illustrious career. He enjoyed early success with work for St. Martin's Press, Viking Penguin, and Harper & Row. For Viking, he did the cover of Frederick Forsyth's The Fourth Protocol and Garrison Keillor's Lake Wobegon Days, both number one best sellers. Thorpe came to specialize in mysteries, Americana and espionage, doing covers for series published by Warner Books (Larry Bond, Ross Thomas, Elizabeth Peters, Harold Adams), Harper & Row (Desmond Bagley, Hammond Innes, Len Deighton, Fred Harris), St. Martin's Press (Gregory Bean, Laura Crum), Doubleday (Daniel Easterman) and Random House (Thomas Perry). He has created covers for authors such as Nelson Algren, Desmond Bagley, John Calvin Batchelor, William Bernhardt, Terry Bisson, David Cole, Peter DeVries, Daniel Easterman, Thomas Fleming, John Fuller, Michael Gannon, Wendy Hornsby, M. Here, Thorpe describes for us one of his first jobs as a cover designer...

I moved to New York City in 1980, right out of art school, with the idea of working as a freelancer in book publishing. I had discovered in college that I was very comfortable working with type, something that eluded most of my fellow illustration students. So I focused on showing my portfolio to publishers who, at the time, would job out a book cover design to a designer, and the illustration to an illustrator. Being able to do both was a plus and I discovered the publishers were eager for someone like me.

I found early work with St. Martin’s Press and Viking Penguin, and in 1984 started doing covers for Harper & Row. The Creative Director there, Joseph Montebello, gave me free rein on design and I experimented quite a bit with type design. I was in his office in early 1986, handing in a job, when he told me he had a mystery title that involved modern day Navajos, and that he was having a hard time finding someone to give it a proper treatment. The book was Skinwalkers by Tony Hillerman. I told him I was 1/8 Cherokee, and he said, “Good enough, you do it.” Never mind that although my heritage was true, I had never been to an Indian reservation or even met a Native American, and my folks never talked about that side of the family. But that didn’t matter to Joseph, he figured if it was in my blood, then I was right for the job.

In those days most of my visual research was done at the New York Public Library’s Picture Collection. It was housed in a building on Fifth Ave. across from the main library branch. I told the people at the desk what categories I wanted to research and they guided me to files stuffed with images of the subject. Images were taken out of books and magazines or photos from news sources or the like, all mounted on stiff paper. For Skinwalkers, I told them I wanted to look at Navajo images and they gave me several large folders. There were all sorts of photos and illustrations of Navajo hogans and rug weaving and of the landscapes of the reservation. But one thing kept showing up...images of Navajo sand paintings. These beautifully designed images fascinated me. In Hillerman’s manuscript Navajo shaman and their healing rituals, which included sand paintings, played a role. They were not the main focus of the book, but the sand paintings seemed to me to nicely represent their culture, and I decided to try to use that imagery in the cover design.

I met with a bit of resistance from the editors at first, but Joseph Montebello stood up for me and argued that I was going in the right direction. In the end I used a sand painting border for the Skinwalkers cover. It surrounds a scene from the reservation with a skull in the foreground. I decided to paint the finish on handmade paper to keep with the Native American feel. I used an old wood type font for the title and author name. The book surprised us all by hitting the bestseller list, so Harper & Row came back to me for the next book in the series and by the time I had done a few of them I had established a consistent look that used sand painting elements, old wood type fonts and handmade paper backgrounds as the design standard. For twenty years, until the author’s death, I continued to do the covers for his Harper & Row/Harper Collins first editions, paperbacks (including back titles), omnibuses, and related materials such as slipcase illustrations, point of purchase posters, risers and maps. For each first edition they had me call the author to discuss the cover. Tony was great fun on the phone, telling me stories about his life and relationship with the publisher, but as for the covers he always said, “Do whatever you want to Peter, the covers have worked well so far!”

LAURA DEVRIES 🎶 Entry for @dagdagsims‘ beguiling the heirs

Any high-class socialite knows the name of Laura Devries, a renowned prodigy pianist. Beautiful, young and intelligent, Laura has everything needed to succeed in life by her own means, and boy has she done it; she’s having the best of her life in one of uptown San Myshuno’s penthouses. However, she is always hungry for more.

One morning, a note from the entertainment section on the news caught her attention immediatly: The Gryswald twins are looking for a little romance in their lives via a reality show. She has been with them at a couple of events where she debuted, but they have never exchanged a single word.

It is not that she needs their money, the status she has reached allows her to have a life without financial worries of any kind. But ambitious as she is, being related to one of the twins would open doors for her that she hadn’t even dreamed of before. So, without thinking twice, she submitted her participation and is ready to play her game with everything she’s got, and she knows her cards well.

Even though her point of view might be cold and calculating, a hint of curiosity remains deep inside her. Maybe, just maybe, there could be room for a bit of genuine romance? Bah, nonsense …

Alright well...Emme Rylan pretty much confirmed on her instagram stories in a carefully worded way that “she can’t comment on whether it’s true or not...but she did comment that she has worked in soaps continuously for a long time without stopping and that now her and her family (Emme’s not Lulu’s) are putting all her household things in storage and going on a really long road trip so I pretty much think that confirms it’s true. Plus William DevRy can’t comment on it either, they’d both be able to if there wasn’t some truth to it obviously.

Truthfully neither character is a particular loss for me. They have struggled with what to do with Lulu from the second Emme stepped into the role, why she’s STILL here after all this time was truly beyond me and Julian...frankly they’ve run out of characters who’s thumb he can be endlessly stuck under. That being said, I don’t want the character of Lulu dead. You can’t just kill Luke and Laura’s kid without clear evidence that she’s still alive, so either have her move out of Port Charles to become a “big time reporter” orrrrrr just recast Lulu with Julie Berman again! And cut some actual deadweight characters without much ties since there’s clearly a lot of them.

More than 4,600 people in the 10 provinces responded to this survey from March 29 to April 3. Large increase in Canadians working from home: Approximately 4.7 million Canadians who do not usually work from home did so during the week of March 22 to 28.

Working from home more common for those with higher levels of education: Developing a full understanding of the number of Canadians working from home is essential for measuring Canada's capacity to support ongoing economic activity, while protecting the health and safety of both workers and the greater public.

Workers new to working from home just as likely to report having good to excellent mental health: Of those who reported that they did not normally work from home but did so during the week of March 22, about 4 in 10 (39.6%) live with a child under the age of 18, and likely experienced new challenges in balancing work and family life.

It’s shot from the very front row of the stalls at the side so, although this causes a lot of problems for the brave person who filmed it, we DO get many nice close-ups and a chance to see the show from quite an unusual angle at times! Very clear sound throughout.

“Troupe” (2018, i.s.m. de gemeente Sint-Katelijne-Waver)

“Vanavond is het eindelijk zover in het dorp: er wordt een grote bruiloft gevierd!

Iedereen is uitgenodigd en alles staat in rep en roer: het koor oefent nog één keer zijn gezangen, de schilder legt de laatste hand aan zijn cadeau, de wijn wordt geperst, de tafel gedekt, de klokken geluid en het café krijgt nog een laatste opblinkbeurt. Alles staat klaar voor het feest der feesten waarin deze inwoners de liefde, het leven en de bloeiende toekomst van het bruidspaar willen vieren.

Tot een oorlog binnen walst...”

In 2018 vieren en herdenken de inwoners van Sint-Katelijne Waver de honderdste verjaardag van het einde van de Eerste Wereldoorlog. Deze oorlog liet wereldwijd sporen na en ook deze gemeente bleef niet gespaard. Toen de frontlijn voorbijgeraasd was, waren de dorpskernen van Sint-Katelijne-Waver en Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-Waver verwoest en geplunderd. Inwoners trokken op de vlucht en het dorp bestond uit uitgebrande en gesloopte woningen, kerken, scholen en gebouwen. Het vee liep los over de omgewoelde velden. Talloze soldatengraven tekenden het landschap. Er heerste ongerustheid en verdriet over soldaten en niet-teruggekeerde vluchtelingen.

“Troupe” is het resultaat van meer dan 500 inwoners van Sint-Katelijne-Waver die hun overgave, energie en tomeloze inzet hebben gebundeld voor een totaalspektakel. Honderd jaar na het einde van WO I, brengen ze een ode aan de herkansing van de mensheid na een catastrofe. Samen tonen ze wat er mogelijk is wanneer een gemeenschap gelooft in verzoening, jongeren, hoop, vrede, samenwerking en toekomst.

“Troupe” kende veel repetities, vergaderingen, omzwervingen en gedaantes voor het zijn uiteindelijke vorm vond. Samen zijn we vertrokken vanuit de talenten van honderden individuele deelnemers: van decorbouwers tot spelers, van tekstschrijvers tot muzikanten, van vendeliers tot ruiters. Gaandeweg ontstonden er ook kruisbestuivingen: dansers tonen hun kunnen op de muziek van de harmonie, de vendeliers leiden met hun vlaggen het spreekkoor in, muzikanten leerden zingen, acteurs hielpen decors te bouwen, enzovoort. Het maken van “Troupe” is een wilde rit geweest, een tornado, een wave – maar bovenal: een feestelijke smeltkroes.
