luke castellan x fem athena!reader
summary: in which Luke receives love letters from a secret admirer.
1.4k words
warnings, i guess?: pre tlt!!! reader has a huge ass crush on luke, reader is weird around luke (like any normal person around their crush), love letters, secret admirer, reader is kinda stalker-ish (maybe all athena kids are lol), reader is friends with silena and clarisse, camp golden boy luke!!! reader has GRAY EYES like every other child of Athena, as this is a key note in the story but i'll leave the hair color out for you guys 🫶🏻
ONE
“Handsome, you're a mansion with a view.”
“Hey, Luke?” Chris Rodriguez calls out to his older brother, brows knitted in confusion, as he walks towards the head of cabin eleven, who was helping their brothers—Travis and Connor—fix their armor for Capture the Flag in just a few more minutes.
“Yeah?” Luke hums, his eyes not leaving the younger Stoll’s as he finishes the strap of Connor’s armor. “What is it?”
“Someone left this on your bed,” Chris answered, pulling out a tea-colored envelope from his pocket and giving it to the older boy. “It has your name on it.”
Luke pats Connor on the shoulder. “Trav, go and get shields and swords from the armory with Connor.” The eldest Stoll nodded, while the youngest opened his mouth to talk, but Luke got ahead of him. “No, Connor, you can’t have a flaming arrow. Now get over there!” He chuckles, playfully shoving the brothers away with a grin.
As soon as the two leave—Connor huffing about the flaming arrow—Luke turns to face Chris. “Who’s it from?” He asks, eyeing the envelope in Chris’ hand.
Chris shrugged. “I don’t know; it wasn't signed. It just had your name.”
“Huh,” Luke grabs the envelope from Chris’ hold, his eyes searching for any information. Instead, a pink heart wax stamp greeted him.
“You got another admirer?” Chris smirks, playfully nudging Luke. “Oh, to be you, huh? Girls here and there.”
Luke glares at Chris. “Shut up,”
“But that’s a first. A love letter. You think it’s from one of the Aphrodite kids?” Chris grinned, wiggling his eyebrows. “Explains the pink heart.”
“You talk too much, don’t you?” Luke groaned, shaking his head. “Go follow the Stolls; make sure they don’t burn the armory down. I’ll follow.”
Chris rolls his eyes, chuckling slightly. “Alright, alright, I’ll leave you with your love letter.”
“Go,” Luke huffs, shoving his brother out the door.
“Geez, lover boy, stop pushing me!” Chris laughed as Luke pushed him again. “Okay, okay, I’ll go!” He chuckles, raising his hands up in surrender. “See you at the creek!”
Luke rolls his eyes, shaking his head as Chris runs off. He then turns his attention to the envelope in his hand, with his name written in perfect cursive in bright pink. If Luke wasn’t quick to jump to conclusions, he’d assume that an Aphrodite kid probably sent the letter. The pink ink was a dead give-away. But there was a small voice in the back of Luke’s mind saying otherwise.
The Hermes counselor sighs before making his way to his bed. Maybe there he could find anything else related to the mysterious admirer. Luke plopped down onto his bed, torn between ripping the envelope open or gently opening it in fear of tearing anything else that was inside.
With a shake of his head, Luke slowly opened the tea-stain envelope, the smell of old books and jasmine invading his nostrils as he gently pulled the paper out.
Dear Luke,
I love you.
Oh gods, where do I even begin to explain that?
Okay, so I have liked—no, loved—you since I was thirteen and you were fourteen. I know a lot of girls like you, even boys. I’m not even half of those who do. I’m just, well, me. A girl who you’d never give a second glance at.
This is utterly stupid, honestly. Taking the risk to write this letter to you when you and I literally live in camp all year round. But, I guess, who cares? I mean, I’m already here writing this, so why back out now?
I remember the first time I saw you. Handsome, you’re a fucking mansion with a view. You were out in the arena, training with Marco Leon. It was the day after you and Annabeth arrived at camp. You were so good, deserving the title of ‘the best swordsman’ camp has seen in three hundred years. Your dark curls looked like a halo as you sparred with him, a mischievous look in your eyes as they shined like ambers underneath the golden rays of sunlight. From that day on, I knew I was in trouble. Everything about you captivates me—a secret no one knows.
Every time you’re around, my heart beats too fucking fast, like a pegasus galloping in the wind. You make the butterflies in my stomach flutter like crazy, you make my palms get sweaty, and my words fail me, leaving me a stuttering mess when you’re near and you aren’t even talking to me. See what you do to me? I’ve never thought I would fall head over heels for someone so completely and so effortlessly.
You make the angels in heaven dance and sing hymns. Each time I look at you, wedding bells ring inside my head. You make me want more and more of you. I just can't think straight when you're in my head; even writing your name makes my cheeks turn red. You make me smile in so many ways, to the point that it isn’t even funny anymore. You are my favorite everything. I’ve been telling my friends that since I was fifteen.
I get jealous when I see someone who gets close to you and flirts with you. I just can’t explain how annoyed—angry—I get when they try to get your attention when I have no right to be. There’s just something about you. I can’t pinpoint it, but it’s the same damn thing that made my heart surrender.
Do you think if I wished on every dandelion in the world, you’d be mine? It would be a dream come true, of course. But in reality? You would never notice me. Like I said before, I’m just a girl you’d never take a second glance at. I’d forever be in the shadow of everyone else, hidden far away in the darkness.
You take my breath away, Luke Castellan. I don’t know how, but, fuck, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
sincerely,
yours
Luke stared at the letter for a few seconds, still trying to understand the words he had just read. He knew that girls liked him, but he never had someone send him a love letter, let alone a detailed one.
“Who are you?” Luke muttered, his eyes going back and forth through the letter, wondering who the girl was who’d written the letter. Something about her words made him want to find her, but the letter wasn’t signed. No name, no cabin, no anything. How was he going to find out who wrote the letter?
“Luke, capture’s in five minutes!” Annabeth’s voice snapped Luke out of his thoughts. He quickly folded the letter, placing it back in the envelope, before shoving it under his mattress. He isn’t taking any chances, especially with the Stoll brothers, whom reminded Luke of him and Chris just a few years back.
Luke immediately ran out of cabin eleven, meeting Annabeth down at the steps.
“You still aren’t geared up,” Annabeth observed, brow raised. “I can’t afford another loss, Luke,” she huffed, crossing her arms over her chest.
“Got held up inside, you know, the Stolls.” Luke shrugged, hoping she wouldn't see through his lie. Technically, it wasn’t a lie. He did get held up with his younger brothers, well, except for that tiny exemption under his mattress.
Annabeth sighed. “Just go and get ready. The conch will sound in a few, and I still have to find Y/n and Malcolm.”
“Yes, ma’am!” Luke chuckled, saluting to his not-so-little sister. “We will win; don’t worry.”
Annabeth rolled her eyes. “You said that last year.”
“Gotta be positive, Annie Bunny,” Luke grinned, nudging the younger girl slightly.
“Stop calling me that,” Annabeth huffed, turning her heel to walk away.
“What? You loved bunnies!” Luke teased as she walked away.
“I was seven!” Annabeth groaned, walking faster, making Luke laugh.
“See you at the creek in four minutes!” Luke called after the daughter of Athena before turning to walk to the armory when someone collided face first into his chest.
“Woah, careful there,” Luke chuckled, catching that someone in his arms. A girl with the same gray eyes as Annabeth, a little more on the silver side, though still as intense.
“Uh, hi?”
“You okay, pretty girl?” Luke asks, smiling at her, his strong arms still wrapped around her waist for support.
“Uh, think so? Yes? I guess?” she rambled, her eyes not meeting his.
Luke chuckles, helping the girl get back on her feet. “Careful next time, alright?”
“Uh, okay, bye!”
Luke laughed as the girl quickly scrambled away, her long hair bouncing behind her. “See you on the battlefield later, Y/n!”

When Eddie falls, the whole bed shakes.
The first thing Steve does is make sure Eddie's alright, that he didn't like, hurt anything. But he's still rocking against his thumb, still taking those same soft breaths, only now they're muffled with half his face pressed to the sheets.
The second thing Steve does is check the camera. A lot hinges on that little device. It's fine, still upright, still running.
Steve sighs in relief. Bends his thumb again to make Eddie make that same noise he did when his arms gave out, smiling a little to himself when it works.
This is a nice angle, he thinks. The camera will pick up on everything—Eddie's sloped back and broad shoulders, the few curls fanned out on the pillow, shaken loose from the bun, the tattooed dragon at the base of his spine, which is the most Eddie-like thing he's ever seen.
Of course he'd get a nerdy tramp stamp. Steve's stomach lurches a little to think that he probably got it with the intent of it being sexy. That's why people get slutty little back tattoos, isn't it? Eddie just never had the chance to show it off.
Well. He can now. Steve sees it.
He's leaking precum all over it, too, and maybe that's why Eddie got it, so it could get defaced like this, some extra pretty thing to look at for whoever's behind him. Steve smears his free thumb over the ink, rubbing in some of the pre. It disappears into his skin, leaving just a sheen of wetness behind.
Steve would press his lips to the little dragon's head if that were anatomically possible, right there in the divot of Eddie's spine. If Eddie wanted his lips there, anyways, he thinks guiltily, trying his hardest to shove kiss-related thoughts down deep.

pre-outbreak, meeting Joel at the craft store when he’s in desperate need of materials for a project Sara has to finish for class tonight
Blurb Advent 2023: Day 6
Such a cute prompt!
This is a bit of a short one lmao but hopefully still cute.
Warnings: do i know how to write kids? absolutely not. otherwise it's all fluff so no warnings.
You were trying to convince yourself that you didn’t need to buy another set of stamps or any more inks to go with them, and losing the argument, when you felt the tap on your shoulder.   “‘Scuse me miss, sorry to interrupt but can you help me?”  You turned and instantly felt flustered, and not just because it was awkward being confused for someone who worked in the craft store. The man who’d asked for your help was very handsome, though somewhat stressed and definitely in need of a decent sleep.   “I’m sorry, I don’t work here,”   “My mistake. Have a good afternoon.”  You felt a little bad. He was clearly frazzled and you spent enough time in the store to be able to help. And as he turned to walk away, you caught sight of a young girl close behind him.  “Wait. Maybe I can help. I practically live here so...” you trailed off wishing you’d kept that last bit to yourself.   “I don’t want to keep you,” he held his hands up as he spoke and you noticed there was no ring. It suddenly made more sense why he seemed so stressed.  “Please, you’re only keeping me from going broke buying craft supplies. What are you looking for?”  “Um, well, my daughter, Sarah,” the girl stayed close to her father’s side but gave you a smile and a small wave, “has a project due tomorrow that she forgot about. She’s meant to have made a, what was it again babygirl?” The last part had been addressed to his daughter but you nearly missed her answer, so focused on the adorable pet name and what he might call, say, a girlfriend. "A diorama of the solar system."  "Well?" he asked when you didn't respond right away, "Can we find what we need here?" "Oh," you laughed shaking off momentary lapse, "Yeah, I think so. You’ll need a basket though, there’s going to be a fair few foam balls.”  The man seemed to visibly relax in front of your eyes, his shoulders suddenly less tense, “Thank you so much, I was so lost.”  You giggled again, “Don’t worry, this is my kind of project. But maybe you could buy me a coffee sometime to thank me.”  He seemed a little taken aback, a slight blush rising to his cheeks but he nodded, “Yeah, I’d be happy to, uhh,”  “I’m Y/N.”  “Joel.”  You noticed Sarah watching this exchange and felt suddenly awkward. “Uhhh right, okay, let’s start with some paints.” you led both of them down a nearby aisle, "You'll need lots of paint."

Void with X Pre-Inked Stamp
Offices need to keep information organized and filed in a system to cut down on confusion. Contacts and projects that have been rendered void should be marked and documented to keep the office running smoothly. When you have a "Void With X" stamp, it's an easy process to handle this task. The inclusion of text and an image makes the stamp markings stand out on files and folders, whether they're going on to a client or being filed away for office use. This small slim void with x stock stamp is the right choice for the person on the go. This stamp is small but will make thousands of impressions before you would need to add refill ink. The stamp impression measures approximately 1/2" x 1-1/2".

Aww, it's good to hear from you again, Trau. I'm always lurking around if you ever wanna chat! I love hearing from mutual writers! But without further ado, I hope you enjoy your candy heart. 💘 -Shopkeep
Valentine Event: Secret Admirer
It wasn’t hard to miss you really. With your hurried footsteps and the scent that lingered by Leona’s favorite napping spot. There, innocently sitting in the dappled sunlight that rushed past the trees of the greenhouse was an offering. Modestly packaged in brown wrapping paper tied with twine was a gift. Attached was a card, lightly speckled with flecks of golden ink and a single flower stamped under a wax seal. Leona could instantly recognize the flower as so many of them could be found dotting the more rural landscape of his home. Goldenrod. He flicked open the card, finding that same golden ink scrawled across the card.
“To Leona, from a secret admirer.”
He had to stifle a snort at the cheesy words. Though that did not stop his curiosity. He pulled at the twine and unceremoniously ripped at the paper to reveal the gift’s contents. Inside he saw a pre-packaged sandwich that looked to burst with all sorts of meats and sauces that would make any carnivore salivate. He recognized the enticing meal as it was a rare find in the town that even Ruggie couldn’t manage to snag. Beside it, an assortment of more humble objects were laid. Handmade hair ties, bracelets, and a thin chain necklace with a curling golden lion. Leona held the necklace up to the warm light, almost as if letting it bask in the sun’s heat as he did. It glinted back at him and the beastman found a smirk curling on his lips.
He looked back in the same direction you had escaped into. He didn’t know whether to scoff at your foolishness or arrogance to think he wouldn’t see you.
“Dumb herbivore. You should know better than to feed wild beasts,” he tossed the necklace up and caught it firmly in his palm. “Or else, they’ll keep coming back for more.”

candy fiend— s. harrington
summary: steve loves candy, so naturally he wants to eat all of it…even the candy that’s meant for the trick-or-treaters.
pairings: steve harrington x reader
word count: 1.510k
warnings: established relationship, domestic bliss (because who wouldn’t want that with steve?), mentions of food and eating, steve being stupidly cute, fluffy goodness, no read more cut because tumblr tried to fuck up the entire fic yet again
author’s note: i just had to write a halloween fic for steve, it was inevitable. and this was the perfect idea, so i couldn’t let it just pass me by. anyway, enjoy this fluffy cuteness with steve “good hair” harrington! likes and reblogs are greatly appreciated, but all i ask that you do not repost my work and claim it as yours! — xo, morgan❤️
requested tags: @kc-needs-coffee (because she’s finally come around on her realization that steve is a dumbass, but that’s her dumbass lol)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Seriously, that’s your favorite?” You asked Steve from the kitchen, grimacing as he bit into a milky way candy bar.
“What?” Steve had a mouth full of chocolate and nougat, “it’s good!”
You shook your head, scrunching your nose in disgust. “You may think that, but it’s nowhere near as good as a snickers bar, or even just a plain hershey’s bar!” You’d turned your attention away from him, mixing the batter for your halloween brownies before pouring it into the pan and placing it in the pre-heated oven. It was around 6:30 PM, and no trick-or-treaters had shown up yet, so you figured you’d have time to bake something for you and Steve before the hordes of kids came ringing the doorbell.
“Say whatever you want, but you’re missing out, babe.” Steve continued eating the candy, digging through the candy bowl to find any extras to keep for himself.
You’d heard the rustling of candy wrappers, making you look over to see Steve’s hand fishing around in the candy bowl that was for the trick-or-treaters.
“Steve…what the hell are you doing?” You asked, crossing your arms over your chest.
Steve stopped almost instantly, staring blankly at the wall in front of him. Then he slowly turned to you, looking like a deer in headlights.
“I uh…I was checking the candy?” He sheepishly smiled, unsure of his answer after he’d said it aloud.
“Checking the candy?” You exhaled, “you seriously think I’m gonna believe that?”
“I would hope you’d believe that.” Steve smiled a little more confidently, “I mean, c’mon. You don’t want any of those kids getting sick from the candy, do you?”
“Steve, the only way they’d get sick from it is if they ate too much.” You huffed, leaning against the kitchen counter that overlooked the living room of your shared home.
“Okay, but what if they had an allergy?” Steve asked, confident that he’d backed you into a corner, though he felt a little dumb when he realized that you’d both agreed to create an allergy-free alternative.
“And that’s why we have this.” You showed him the bowl of non-candy goodies such as halloween themed pencils, erasers, ink stamps, and stickers that you’d prepared for kids that may have allergies or simply didn’t want candy for whatever the reason may be. You and Steve both believed that halloween was for everyone, and you wanted to be as inclusive as possible about it— despite the rest of the neighborhood not seeming to care.
Steve knew he’d lost, because if he argued about the allergy-free bowl, then he’d look like a jerk. “Okay, fine. I was digging out all of the milky way bars for myself.” He admitted, beginning to put some back into the bowl.
You couldn’t help but shake your head and laugh to yourself over Steve’s attempt to be a candy thief. “Thank you, for telling the truth, you absolute candy fiend.”
Steve smiled to himself, leaning back in the recliner. He felt like he’d won a small victory in being honest with you, even if he hadn’t won a tangible prize.
“You can keep half of the milky ways.” You offered, hoping Steve would accept the compromise.
“Half?” He asked as if you were unsure of your decision.
“Half.” You confirmed, “but only because I bought an extra bag of candy and already dug all of those out for you.”
“Really?” Steve’s eyes lit up like a christmas tree, and you couldn’t help but giggle at him for it.
“Yes, really.” You nodded, smiling. “But that doesn’t mean you can eat them all in one night. They’re in the candy jar on the dining table.”
“Have I ever told you that you’re the best?” Steve practically jumped up from his seat, adding the candy bars in his hand to the jar.
“Hmm…only about a thousand times since we’ve been together.” You tapped at your jaw as if you’d thought about the exact number of times he’d said that.
“And it’s still true, every. single. time.” He punctuated every word with a kiss to your temple as he wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you into a hug.
You looked around your perfectly decorated home, a sense of pride and warmth filling your heart. Of course you and Steve hadn’t entirely made it yet, but it was a humble beginning for the both of you that you loved and truly couldn’t get enough of.
You allowed your head to rest on Steve’s chest, hearing his heart beat like a steady drum.
However, your tender moment wouldn’t last long, as a group of kids had finally rung the doorbell, making you and Steve smile at each other.
“Looks like we’ve finally got our first little goblins.” Steve joked, grabbing the candy bowl from the end table.
You couldn’t help but laugh a little bit at how excited Steve was to hand out candy. Granted he’d never done it before, but it was still cute how he practically sprang to be the first to hand out candy.
You heard the chorus of “trick or treat!” As Steve opened the door, and caught a glimpse of a little astronaut, a ghost, and a mummy at your front door, their candy bags were already halfway full as Steve gave each kid a handful. Each kid said thank you as they excitedly left the front porch in a hurry, sprinting off to the next house.
“Happy Halloween!” Steve called after them, making you smile again. He’d always been good with kids, but of course when you have to manage six newly-teenage monsters all the time, you start to pick up some skills.
The timer had dinged, interrupting your thoughts. You sighed, whisking yourself over to the oven, shutting it off as you opened the door and retrieved the brownies with your favorite oven mitt. You set the pan atop the burners, allowing it to cool as you started cutting perfect squares.
You heard another group of kids at the door, a chorus of “trick or treat!” and “happy halloween!” filling your home once again, and Steve complimenting each of the kids’ costumes as he handed out candy.
After a couple minutes, you heard the door click shut, meaning that you were free of interruptions for at least the next few minutes.
Steve set the bowl of candy on the table near the front door, dramatically puffing his cheeks out as he exhaled.
“Tired already?” You asked, carefully picking one of the corner pieces out for Steve, setting it on a small dessert plate. You never understood why he liked the corner pieces, despite his argument of it being the perfect balance of crunchy and soft, but it was one of the many quirky things you loved about him. You also never really understood why he loved the halloween brownies so much, considering it was just a normal brownie with m&m’s, chopped up reese’s cups, and festive sprinkles mixed into the batter.
“I didn’t think we’d get that many in the span of two minutes. That was like…ten kids.” Steve counted on his fingers, unable to recall exactly how many kids had shown up.
“Well, have this as compensation for your hard work.” You offered him the plate, and he felt like his senses were in overdrive. It smelled absolutely delicious to him, and looked divine.
Steve took the plate from you, then took a bite of the brownie. “You know you’ll have to make these every year, right?”
“Only if you’ll dress up as Barbie and Ken with me next year.” You joked, knowing that Steve hated the idea of being a Ken doll with as much as he’d been called one.
“Yeah, that’s a no.” Steve smiled, chuckling as he finished the brownie, setting the plate in the sink.
“Suit yourself, Harrington.” You smirked, taking a bite of your brownie, “guess you don’t want those brownies next year.”
The doorbell rang again before Steve could answer, and he wiggled his finger at you, gesturing that you’d gotten lucky from the interruption as he strode to the living room, preparing for the trick or treaters once more.
“I’m getting those brownies, by the way!” He called over his shoulder before opening the door and being met with a new group of kids, each one in a unique costume.
“Keep telling yourself that!” You laugh to yourself, storing the baked treats away in a pastry container.
After a few minutes, Steve returned to the kitchen, wrapping his arms around you from behind, resting his head on your shoulder.
Without looking, you offered him another brownie, which he took a bite of over your shoulder, his arms still linked around your waist.
“Seriously?” You giggled, wiping away the crumbs that had fallen onto your shirt.
“I love you.” Steve tried to say it rather cutely, planting a kiss on your cheek, and you’d be damned if it didn’t work to keep him out of trouble.
“I love you too, goof.” You smiled at him, resting your head against his.
