The Goa Files ‘Hat Katro Khamb’ of Goa Do you know about it? The atrocities that were faced by the Hindus of Goa. 'Hat Katro Khamb' is referred to as in Konkani, Hat means‘Hand’, Kataro means ‘Cut’ and Khambh called ‘Pillar’ which literally means a pillar where hands were chopped.

Portugal revamps visa schemes for investment inflows

A property purchase in Portugal will no longer confer residency rights, but foreigners seeking a “golden visa” can still plough their money into investment funds that are now expecting a boom in inflows.

The Portuguese government tightened the rules after initially announcing in February 2023 that it would scrap the “golden visa” scheme, which has been blamed for worsening the housing crisis.

The scheme, offering wealthy non-EU citizens who invest in Portugal the right to live in the country, has attracted 7.3 billion euros ($8 billion) since its launch in 2012. However, about 90 per cent of that money has been spent on property, prompting complaints about rising house prices.

Placing money in investment funds has been a variant of the Portuguese scheme since 2015. This is now expected to be its main investment channel. Other options include donations for cultural or research projects.

O quanto de uma viagem bem longa você já fez? Fazer uma viagem por regiões próximas é muito divertido, mas não é algo que seja muito desafiante, agora uma viagem de um lugar bem distante em que você possa atravessar todo o continente europeu seria algo bem desafiante. É algo que pode nos trazer um pouco de medo ou entusiasmo. Pois é, um medo constante que é um companheiro que nos impulsiona a ter cautela e atenção em cada coisa dessa viagem, mas também o entusiasmo, uma energia vibrante que é alimentada pela curiosidade e determinação de enfrentar o desconhecido.

Bem, ir para um lugar distante realmente é um desafio, não apenas físico em enfrentar uma viagem de avião por horas e horas e quem sabe até dias, mas também um desafio mental e emocional, como vindo na mente inseguranças, desânimos, e dúvidas. Isso é um desafio enorme para se enfrentar, e se não entendermos pode ser que a nossa viagem nunca aconteça. Acho que todos nós já passamos por isso algumas vezes. Não é só arrumar as malas ou planejar o itinerário; é também arrumar nossos pensamentos e emoções. - algo que seja difícil em certas ocasiões. A cada item que colocamos na mala, talvez deixemos para trás um pouco do medo, substituindo-o por uma pitada de coragem - será mesmo? Acredito que sim, mas mesmo assim o medo está na nossa cola com uma mistura de entusiasmo e não vai embora.

A incerteza de uma viagem longa pode ser avassaladora. "Estou fazendo a coisa certa?", "Por que estou fazendo isso?", "E se algo der errado?", “Eu sou louco por estar fazendo esta viagem?”. Essas perguntas ecoam em nossas mentes, gerando mais desafios para nós. No entanto, eu acho que essas perguntas são muito importantes para reforçar nossa coragem e confiança em nós mesmos e naquilo que queremos.

Afinal, a verdadeira viagem não era apenas cruzar terras desconhecidas, mas também explorar a nós mesmos, nossa coragem, nossa confiança e nosso limite nessas terras. Agora conhecer a beleza dos novos lugares é apenas um bônus que adquirimos :)
