You take a moment to look around what was once one of your old classrooms. Pipes, beakers, jars, pipits, as well as cauldrons, spoons, and numerous ingredients and books line the shelves and tables of the room. You wonder if any facet of it has changed since the last time you were in it.
Snape emerges from his office to the left and pauses when he sets dark eyes upon you. Nearly rolls them at your lavender sweater, light-blue jeans—which said sweater is tucked into—and flats, hair in a braid—same as always—freckles dotting your cheeks; more prominent now as spring has finally sprung, and you’ve been spending as much time outside as possible.
“My delivery, I presume?” He asks, nodding toward the two boxes in your arms.
You nod, setting them on a table.
“I trust you did not carry them all this way?” Not that he supposes it matters one way or the other. As long as it all arrived on-time, and in the desired condition, he’ll be satisfied.
You shake your head, then turn, and he finally notices the small bag slung across your back, the strap across the front of you. You turn back to him. “Undetectable extension charm.”
He hums his response, thinking it a useful charm for a delivery person to know.
He comes toward you, sifting through the contents of the packages; bottles clinking, packets crinkling.
You step past him, crossing your arms, looking over the blackboard at the front of the room, curious as to what potion the class is currently working on perfecting.
You turn back to Severus after a moment, just as he’s closing up both boxes.
“Is it to your satisfaction, then?”
He picks both up, carrying them into his office, then coming back out. “For once. I won’t hold my breath for the same in the future.”
You nearly smirk. Always glass half-empty.
“Just glad to make another satisfied customer,” you state, pulling your bag back around to your front and reaching in, pulling out a bag of chocolate-covered pretzels, and beginning to nibble on one.
He pushes his dark robe out of the way, reaching into his pocket and retrieving a small leather pouch. He dumps a few coins into his palm, extending it toward you. “Your tip.”
You swallow, shaking your head. “That’s not necessary.”
He steps toward you, yanking your free hand toward him—his own surprisingly warm as it wraps around your wrist, enveloping it in his firm grip—and he drops the coins into your palm, forcing your fingers to close around them with his own.
He steps away, then, heading into his office to begin unpacking and organizing the contents of his latest order.
“Pleasure doing business with you!” You call as you step back into the hall.

A Trail of Feathers : SS Link x Reader One shot
🪶 * 🪶 * 🪶 * 🪶 * 🪶 * 🪶 * 🪶 *🪶 * 🪶*🪶
The peace on Skyloft was beyond compare.
Skyloft, was up high- oh, so high- that the clouds were rumored to be made of the very cotton that Hylia's dress was woven from. The clouds floated and flitted en masse, erasing the function of time.
The function of feeling like you existed.
The vast sky was home to a multitude of levitating archipelagos, yet Skyloft was deemed Hylia's favorite. Certainly, it had to be, as it was blessed with blissful, balmy temperatures and gentle fluttering winds that aided the island's loyal companions, the Loftwing.
Yes, the peace of Skyloft was truly unparalleled.
So then, if we were fortunate enough to live on an island considered the goddess's sacred jewel, which was stowed away in the chest of the expansive skies, why did Link go to the surface?
Your eyes snagged on his closed bedroom door in the Knight Academy. They snagged so hard; it was like a thread from your clothing on a doorknob that you couldn't tear away.
Beyond that door was where Link would always be sleeping in, and now it was empty and inhabited, like your heart, which had missed his presence since going to the surface.
Your mind was relentless in its harsh pursuit of what it was like to be on the surface. What if Link favored the surface and all its exoticism to the tranquility of the sky he's always known?
What if he decides to never return to Skyloft? To never return to all that is familiar and mundane?
What if you never saw him again?
You would sometimes traverse the halls of the Knight Academy like a trapped spirit, roaming aimlessly in the middle of the night hoping to catch him sneaking in his window or hear him fumbling in his room.
But there wasn't a peep to be heard.
There was no sound, and there was no Link.
Exhausted from your knight training, you hunkered your weary limbs into bed early. Your eyelids fell to the gentle flapping of Loftwing outside of your window.
🪶 🪶 🪶
You awoke to an itchy feeling behind your ear as the first rays of daylight touched Skyloft.
A feather, long and wispy, threaded in the shade of ashes, was tucked behind your ear.
A feather you did not place there.
Your heart began to crash against your chest with the voracity of a mighty torrent. You twirled the feather in your hands, admiring the way the light transformed the ashy gray into a fetching shade of charcoal. You tickled your chin with the feather, deep in thought.
Someone had been inside your room. It was someone who knew where your room was located within the Knight Academy. Someone who possessed great stealth,
Your heart was screaming "Link", but your mind logically knew he was far beneath Skyloft. And you were far beneath Link, at least in ranking. Link was kind to everyone, so when he befriended you and helped you become a better Loftwing pilot and knight, you never saw it as anything more than what it was. Besides, he was so close to Zelda, and she was the dish of Skyloft, for obvious reasons.
No, it couldn't be Link. Why would he return here to put a feather behind your ear? And besides, his Loftwing was crimson.
This feather wasn't particularly attractive, but something about its dismal gray was comforting. Like someone was holding an umbrella over your head during a rainstorm.
Not that you had ever experienced rain. You would have had to go to the Isle of Songs for that.
You chalked it up to Fetch or Pipit- someone playing a prank. Despite your decision, you tucked away the mysterious loftwing feather.
You brushed your fingers across the fibers of it one last time before tucking it beneath your pillow.
Even if it was a joke, something about it was consolatory, even if that wasn't the intended purpose.
Without seeing the radiance of Link's smile in your life, you needed solace.
You needed him.
You tucked that thought away with the feather and got up to start your day.
You picked your pillow up and looked at the assortment of feathers you'd amassed. What started out as a prank slowly became part of your routine.
Feathers were finding their way to you, and you continued to unearth them.
They were in your locker. Left on your pillow. Hidden in your drawers.
It even went so far as to receive them arbitrarily from strangers.
You went to the bazaar to get your sword repaired from Gondo when you heard the fortune teller calling out to you.
"Miss, Miss- please, let me tell you your fortune!" Sparrot begged with his asymmetrical, googly eyes.
You waved him off. "Not today, sir."
As you collected your sword from Gondo and began to walk away, Sparrot howled, "A reunion is coming." He held a feather in his hand, and the searing orange seemed to flicker like a candle in a dimness of the bazaar.
It beckoned you toward him. "Where did you get that feather?"
"Miss, I have taken an oath of secrecy."
He passed the feather up to you, and you took it from his short, stubby fingers. "I'll pay you. Please tell me the source of the feathers." You pleaded.
Sparrot shook his head. "I may need rupees, but not at the cost of my word. They told me to tell you about the reunion.
A customer walked up to Sparrot, interjecting between you both. You took it as your cue to exit the bazaar.
Once outside, you let out a deep exhalation of breath. A reunion could only mean Link.
Or Zelda.
You moaned outwardly, "Or Groose."
You walked back towards the knight academy, scolding yourself. You couldn't help but hold onto the idea that it was Link. But realistically, a reunion could be anyone.
You continued the rest of your training, completely distracted. Sparrot's words echoed in your head and grew louder, washing out the sound of your blade swooshing through the air. You could see Eagus looking at you with concern.
"Y/N, why don't you go home and get some rest? You don't seem invested today."
You wouldn't decline that offer. You apologized to Eagus for not giving it your all. You left, your shoulders slumping in defeat. You felt like you were no better a knight than when Link left. Link had probably grown quite strong since his departure from Skyloft. Who knows what he's encountered beneath Skyloft on the surface?
Maybe the feathers were simply meant to keep your morale up? Morale or not, you could never be on Link's level.
You entered the Knight Academy and were greeted with Pipit and Karane making goo-goo eyes at each other. You wished they would just ask each other out already. You gave them a shrewd nod in passing and made your way to your room.
Only to find your bedroom door wide open.
You ran into your room and saw feathers scattered all over your bed, as if someone had wrestled with a Loftwing in your sheets. As you focused on the rainbow calamity on your bed, you homed in on more feathers spilling out of your window, which was open and definitely not the way you left it.
You gazed beyond your window to see the feathers form a trail.
The sound of your heart beating made your ears ring. Were you supposed to follow them?
You jumped out of your window, the trail of feathers a never-ending sight.
The trees and flowers that were lush during the day seemed to wilt and sway along with the crepuscular radiance of the dark night sky. The feathers illuminated your path as you continued to follow them around the island, stopping at the stairs that led to the Statue of the Goddess.
You took a deep breath, preparing your lungs for the one hundred step-trek. You had to admit, whoever was doing this was incredibly detailed. They had managed to lay a feather on each step.
You began to jog up the stairs, counting a step as each foot landed on it. You were trying to calm your frayed and worn nerves at the idea of who was waiting for you at the top. You lunged up, skipping the top three steps and landing before the gargantuan statue of Hylia.
Your heart fell.
There beneath the darkness of Hylia's night sky was Groose, finger combing his vivacious red mohawk. He took his thumb and licked it, stamping it with his forefinger and running it on a rogue strand that wouldn't stay in place.
"Groose!" You hissed. "You're the one behind the feathers?"
He continued messing with his pride and glory, his hair, which caused you to lose your patience.
You stomped your foot. "Groose!"
"What? Oh, Y/N, have you been here this whole time?"
You let out a savage growl. "Aren't you supposed to be on the surface?" You made sure the animosity in the word 'surface' could be detected.
"Nah, I'm back. Why did you miss me?"
You felt your heart plummet in your stomach. "What about Zelda? And... Link?"
Groose grinned at you, giving you a confident wink. "Why don't you ask him yourself?"
You turned to see a figure at the top of the stairs.
Slow, shallow breaths were expelled from your lips causing minuscule clouds to float and obscure the figure. He walked closer, a crimson feather being spun between his fingers. Each step forward was agonizingly slow. Until a glimmering ray of moonlight caused a crack of the shrouded night shadows to reveal the figure's face.
Link smiled at you. His blue eyes twinkled with a hint of perversity. Overhead, the sound of his Loftwing cawed out as it flapped between the obstacles of stars.
"Link..."
He stood before you, tucking the crimson feather behind your ear.
"I'm home."
You felt your bottom lip wobble as you took in his presence. "You left the feathers? But why..."
"With Zelda returning safe and sound... I couldn't help but wonder if you'd accompany me to the wing ceremony this year?"
"Me?" You questioned, your cheeks ablaze in a way that made the Loftwing feather blend in with your flesh. "You're asking me?" You asked again incredulously.
Link gave you a tender smile, his eyes leaving a trail of desire from the feather in your hair to your lips.
"Yes. Because what I learned the most on the surface is that my thoughts of you kept me afloat. Adrift. Like the feathers that help the Loftwing fly. So if you'll have me, my rightful place is with you in the sky."

Relationship Headcanons for a Beautiful Boy
Request: Relationship headcanons for my beautiful boi Pipit pls. I love you and your blog, you cheer me up when i have bad days :)
Tumblr media
Pipit comes across super confident but isn’t super confident when it comes to relationships
Yeah, he’ll admit he likes someone super fast and on the spur of the moment, but afterward he will likely be unsure of how to go about things
You WILL meet his mother, but you have to be the one to push it.
He’ll never want you to come to his house, but when you do you’ll love how quaint it is
You’ll probs be super good friends with his mom
Oh and he’ll find you at his home w/ his mom helping her clean it!
And he’ll be super embarrassed!
But he’ll become flustered :)
You’ll be a power couple since Link and Zelda aren’t together
He will take a lot of pride in that
You’ll have to convince him to break the rules sometimes when it comes to just simply having fun
His sense of honor will always get in the way
He’ll be uncomfortable w/ it at first but will have a lot of fun
He isn’t really into PDA, but is okay with holding hands, quick kisses, hugs etc
Def. kissing him for a longer period of time in public will make him all blushy and nervous
He’ll try to get mad at you if he catches you outside at night
But he can’t because you’re too cute and know how to get him to cave
If you insist on being outside, he’ll want you to just patrol with him
and he’ll be more okay with PDA at this time, IE arm around you, holding your hand, etc etc
If you haven’t won a Ceremony yet, he’ll help you train as much as he can so you can join him in his classes
Plus he wants to see you succeed
If you fail/ have a hard time learning something, he’ll take extra time to help you
If you have won the Ceremony, you’ll move to sit next to each other in the class.
You’ll study together a lot
You’ll pass him notes and he probably wont answer them because he’s a NERD, but will be all cute after he reads them
Tbh I just love Pipit and wish he had more love

Requested by:Anon
Pairing: Link x FTM!Reader
Words:615
Request:Hey can you do Link with a 🖤 s/o 🌈 scenario of your choice, if it's not to much?
A/N: You didn't specify which game so I’m basing this off Skyward Sword Link.
Declaimer: I headcanon Link as mute and that’s how i write for him. In my fics he uses sign language
Game/Version: Skyward sword
Tumblr media
Today was the day of the wing ceremony, whoever passed would become a knight. As the headmaster's son you didn’t have to worry about the ceremony, but you were worried about Link. You were pretty sure he was still sleeping, you were about to go wake him up. But he ran up to you.
“Well good morning sleepyhead” You teased, but he wasn’t laughing, in fact he looked worried. “What’s wrong?”
“My loftwing is missing,I can’t sense him anywhere” He signed.
“We have to find him before the ceremony. Ask around,I’ll fly around and see what I can find” You whistle for your bird who landed in front of you, climbing up he grabbed your hand, making you look at him.
“Thank you”
“Let’s just find your bird first” You handed him your bird whistle “Let me know if you find anything”
***
You were flying around but you couldn’t find anything, you were about to go back and try to find Link. Suddenly you lost control of your bird, which meant Link used the whistle. You let your bird follow the noise and saw Link outside the sparring hall.
"Did you find him?"
"Not yet,but I know where he is. I need you to take me to the waterfall" He signed almost too quickly for you to understand. Pipit noticed your confusion and said.
"There's a cave behind the waterfall,we think that's where Groose hid his loftwing"
"Groose took him,of course he did. Come on Link" He got up on your loftwing, wrapping his arms around your waist.
A part of you wanted this moment to last forever,to fly around the sky just the two of you. You snapped out of your thoughts when he moved his hand up to your shoulder, you heard his loftwing and followed the sound until you reached a small cave. You both jumped off your bird and Link ran ahead to free his bird.
“Thank you” He signed again
“You can thank me by winning today, speaking of which we should make sure your loftwing is okay and head back before the ceremony starts”
“Do you wanna go flying, just the two of us?” You started blushing without realizing it.
“Sure”
“We should take my loftwing, yours probably needs to rest” He was completely right she had been flying nonstop since Link told you his bird was missing.
“You’re right” You keeled down in front of your bird who was laying on the grass. “You rest up girl, thank you” You gave her a pet before getting up. Link reached his hand out to help you up. Once you made sure that his loftwing wasn’t hurt,he flew back to the plaza.
“I’ll go tell my father that we’re ready for the ceremony, get ready”
“Y/N if I win will you go flying with me after, just us?”
“Then you’d better win,I don’t want to miss that opportunity”
Not surprisingly he won and immediately ran up to you.
“You owe me a flight” He laughed, you hugged him giving him a quick kiss on the cheek.
“Let’s go” You were flying through the air, laughing. You wrapped your arms around him, putting your head on his shoulder. He put his hand on top of your, you looked up and you were inches away from his face. “Could we do this more often?”
“There is something I want to do right now”
“I think I know what it is,because I’m thinking the same thing” You finally kissed each other, his hands quickly moved to your cheeks “I’ve always wanted to do that”
“You can do it as much as you like”

Link x Reader - Together
This is an oldie I wrote for a friend!! I hope you like it //sweats
-----
The gentle breeze softly blew your hair away from your face, tucking it behind your elvish ears. It felt almost as if it were caressing you, the contact sending light shivers down your spine. Closing your eyes, you inhaled the fresh air, smiling to yourself. Serene moments like this brought you joy, and you only wished they would last forever. There were no worries, no tears, no pain, no sorrow... Just the perfect view of Loftwings soaring through the azure sky.
Living in Skyloft was spectacular. Everyday promised something new, whether it was learning how to wield a blade in the Knight Academy or helping a kind pacifist monster transform into a human. Weird, right? But nevertheless exciting. How could one get bored, when they lived in such an amazing town above the clouds? It was impossible for everyone. Well – almost everyone.
You, on the other hand, were a complete different story. There was only so much you could do on a floating island, and in the few years you had been living, you had practically done all of it. Heck, you had even thrown yourself off of the edge of the town just so one of the Knights would come to your rescue once. That's what you meant when you said you had done everything – it included even the extreme. You got scolded for it after, of course, but seeing Pipit's cute, angry, yet worried expression made it worth it. There was one thing, however, that brought you even the littlest of joy, and that was day-dreaming. You couldn't help the little questions that popped up in your head.
What's out there?
What's it like?
Is there a place beyond the clouds that's yet to be discovered?
Those were the questions that made your gears spin; the reason that you even bothered to venture out of your house during the day. They were the reason that you demanded to be able to learn how to fight, despite being a female. It was the reason. It was the only reason you needed. Oneday, you would put a stop to your constant questions and daydreams, and you would find out everything for yourself. That’s what you kept telling yourself, anyway. There was always the possibility of you chickening out before that happened, seeing as you didn’t have much in the way of courage. And… What if there wasn’t anything to be discovered down there?! You could fall for years with no hope of anyone saving you, because you would be so far down that they wouldn’t be able to catch up to you. Anyway, Loftwings were too scared to fly beneath the clouds, so how were you even going to get to the legendary “surface” mentioned in all those books you and Zelda read as kids? Besides, even if there was a surface, what would you do after discovering it? Abandon everything and go live there? Would everyone say goodbye to their Loftwings for good and follow you? You didn’t think you could handle bidding farewell to your feathered friend – not forever, anyway. It was like family to you, and there wasn’t a day that you didn’t have it by your side.
A heaving sigh broke the tranquillity of your moment and it caused you to spin around, your gaze fixating on the back of a dirty-blonde haired boy sitting down, legs hanging off the edge of a wooden platform bolted into the floating island.
Link.
It was hard not to notice his slumped shoulders, and you realised he must be upset about something. Wondering if you should check on him or not, your feet started to move in his direction. Then something caused you to stop.
That boy, was Link. Someone that you’d had a crush on since you were kids. He was kind, calm and collected, cool, and all together amazing. He had his downfalls though, and one happened to be his laziness. Then again, who was perfect, right? You could remember how Zelda had to punch him awake at times in Instructor Owlan’s classes, causing you to howl with laughter. Both you and Link always got into trouble for it after, but you didn’t seem to mind, and neither did Link, who would always shake it off with morphing his perfect teeth into a grin. You were pretty close back then, but as time went on, your feelings grew, and since then, you kept a subtle distance. Not a day went by when you didn’t wonder whether you should tell him the truth about how you felt.
Didn’t mean he would accept your feelings.
As much as it hurt, it always felt like the relationship between the two of you wasn’t as strong as the one he shared with Zelda.
Especially when his father disappeared.
You could remember the day like it was only yesterday. Rain poured down from the sky like there was no tomorrow, soaking the land. A hoard of monsters were attacking Skyloft, and the knights were sent into battle. Link’s father, was one of them. The fight was long and fierce, and the stormy weather didn’t help in their favour. In the end, they won, but his father… Did not return. You weren’t there to comfort the boy, either, nor did you know until the next day. Where were you when this was all going on?
Writing a love letter, to the boy who just lost his dad.
The memory was never going to leave your mind or stop haunting your dreams. It would be stuck with you forever. You had waited until the storm had cleared before skipping out of your house, clutching an envelope with a heart seal stamped on it. Grinning once you caught sight of the boy you loved, you ran over – then stopped.
He was kneeling in front of a grey tombstone, crying his beautiful cerulean orbs out. Your eyes widened in shock when you caught a glimpse of his father’s name on it, the words “Missing In Action” replacing what would’ve said “Here Lies” or “R.I.P.”. You were about to run to him but stopped yourself as soon as you saw the blonde hair of your best friend who was kneeling next to him and had her arms wrapped around his torso while he cried into her shoulder. That was when your heart snapped, and you teared the letter up throwing it off the town and watching as the torn up pieces scattered in different directions, never to be seen again. Ever since then, you had kept away.
Link eventually got his smile back, but you never did. Well, it wasn’t what it used to be, anyway.
The boy who stole your affections had questioned your aloofness on countless occasions, all to which you simply responded to with a light shrug of your shoulders. There was no point in getting close to him, especially if you were just going to get your heart trampled upon for the second time. You couldn’t bear the pain of it.
Yet you still found yourself moving towards him.
The soft sound of your footsteps must have alerted him of your presence, and he spun around just in time to catch you sitting down beside him. The words wouldn’t come out of your mouth as you tried to say something, nervousness taking over. This was Link, your childhood friend who you didn’t have any trouble speaking to back then, but now was different. Your vocal chords felt constricted and wouldn’t so much as let out a sound.
Come on, (Name), you can do this…!
“Hi.”
You widened your eyes when a sound broke the unnerving silence. That one word, however, didn’t come from your own lips, but the boy sitting next to you, a smile painted on his own.
“H-hi,” you stuttered. “Y-you l-look sad so I-I though you needed c-co—”
“Company?” he finished, grin never leaving him.
“Yeah!!” you yelled, louder than needed. Your cheeks heated up as you covered your mouth in embarrassment. Link only laughed, making you giggle slightly in response. You felt your nerves ease and found yourself able to speak to him normally, like nothing had happened to make you grow apart. “So, what’s bothering you?”
Once again, the dirty-blonde haired boy sighed, before turning to you. The way his blue eyes twinkled made you speechless, causing you to once again realise how handsome he was.
“(Name)… Have you ever wondered… If there’s something out there – beneath the clouds? Maybe a whole new world that we have yet to discover? Faced with dangers far greater than the monsters here that come out at night… Holding treasures beyond our wildest dreams…?”
You smiled, something tugging at your heartstrings when you realised he had the same dreams that you did. “Every single day.”
Link’s smile got brighter, as if upon realisation that someone actually understood him, someone didn’t think he was crazy. Not even Zelda had shared his views on the realm below, but you. You were a different story.
“My dad… Used to tell me stories about the surface,” his voice cracked, “before he…”
You took this as a que to wrap your arms around his shoulders, feeling him stiffen before slowly returning the gesture. He relaxed in your embrace, the pace of his heartbeat slowing back down to what it was before.
“Yeah…” you changed the subject, “Zelda and I used to read about it back when we were kids. She told me the legends of the Goddess Hylia, and the Hero dressed in Green. She used to want to go down there, even more than I did. Nowadays, whenever I ask her about it, she’ll shake it off by calling it ‘some childish fantasy’. It hurts, kind of feels like I’ve lost a friend at times…”
“And here I thought no one understood me,” Link replied, pulling away to look you in the eyes once again. “But you, (Name), you’re different. You want to go see the same things I want to – live the same dreams I want to live.”
You nodded, “yeah.”
“(Name)… I need to ask you something.”
“Go ahead.”
He took your hands in his, gulping. “Why did we… Why did we grow apart?”
There it was, the question you were begging to the Goddess he wouldn’t ask. Then again, reflecting back on your childhood, you weren’t exactly one to be lucky.
“I…I…” you began, casting your gaze down to the floor. You wanted to tell him so badly, but at the same time, you couldn’t face the rejection. You were friends, and you didn’t want him knowing how you felt to change a thing. You’d seen it happen before. One would go confess their love for their long-time friend to have them never spoken to by their love interest again.
Never. I won’t let that happen to Link and me, even if that means I’ll never tell him how I really feel.
Link lifted you chin up to face him with his right hand before gripping your left one again.
“It’s okay,” he smiled, “you don’t have to tell me today, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t want an answer eventually.”
“Thanks, Link,” you smiled, relieved he wasn’t going to push you into replying, but a newfound worry forming when you realised that someday you would have to tell him. But this was Link, right? He wouldn’t hate you for it… Would he?
“Someday, I’m going to find out what’s beneath this sky,” he grinned, “and you’re coming with me.”
You nodded, “yeah! We’ll find out…”
“Together,” you both said in unison, laughing together at your promise. Everything between the two of you was back to normal and you couldn’t be happier.
Or so you thought.
.~*~Together~*~.
It had been a few months since you sat down with Link and talked to him for the first time in a while, and things couldn’t have been more perfect between the two of you – well, unless you were dating, but that wasn’t going to happen anytime soon. You had started hanging out more, and it didn’t take Zelda long to figure out your feelings for him, constantly teasing you about it and making up ship names.
“What about… (N)ink?” she would say, and you would just laugh.
“That sounds like something you would find in a bathroom,” you would tease, nudging her slightly.
But today wasn’t a time for laughing or having fun, because something terrible had happened.
After Link had won the race and become a senior knight, he and Zelda went riding on their Loftwings. All of a sudden, a hideous and ferocious beast had shot up through the clouds and swallowed Zelda. It left the whole of Skyloft in fear of both her wellbeing and their own. You were scared out of your skin, but Zelda had to be alive! You could feel it… No, she was! She would come back to Skyloft unharmed and everything would be okay… Yeah… Everything would be okay…
To your greatest relief, Link wasn’t swallowed up by the giant man-eating monster and was safe in his own dormitory. He did, however, get a concussion, and now you were fretting to see if he was okay. The Headmaster of the Knights Academy, Zelda’s father, who you liked to call ‘Mr Unibrow’ behind his back, assured you that the boy was going to be okay, and refused to let you see him until he woke up. You knew that he was only doing this so you wouldn’t lose it over worry and grief for Zelda’s possible death, but you couldn’t stand the thought of losing Link too. That cerulean eyed boy meant everything to you, and you couldn’t survive without him.
You were so deep in thought that you didn’t notice the door open. The Headmaster put a hand on your shoulder, the contact startling you.
“Sir?” you questioned, looking up into his kind brown orbs with fear and worry. This was it… The moment you had been waiting for and dreading at the same time. Any minute now and he would tell—
“He’s awake.”
As soon as you heard those words, you dashed into the room, sitting beside the dirty-blonde and hugging him tightly.
“(Name), I—” he winced.
You immediately let go, gasping. “Sorry, Link! I shouldn’t have been so careless!”
“It’s okay,” he smiled.
“How are you feeling?”
“Not good… Zelda—”
“I know,” you cut him off, “but in this situation, she wouldn’t want us to panic, she’d want us to find a way to overcome the fear and find a way to resolve the matter.”
“You’re right…” he was about to get up but you stopped him.
“No,” you stated, “rest.”
He sighed, shifting into a lying down position and wrapping his arms around you, the both of you soon falling asleep.
.~*~Together~*~.
A sound rang in your ears, like someone talking, though it was hard to make out. It caused you to stir and you soon found yourself waking up in the middle of the night, much to your annoyance. It was so hard to get back to sleep once this happened, and even harder to wake up in the morning. Once again, you closed your eyes, but that didn’t last for long, as they snapped open as soon as you realised something.
Link.
Link wasn’t next to you.
You felt the warm space beside you, and you figured that he couldn’t have gotten up long ago. Pulling yourself together, you got up and raced out the door.
(E/c) orbs searched every corner of the town, but you couldn’t find Link anywhere.
He’ll probably come back later.
You reasoned with yourself, turning to go back to the dormitories when someone called you from behind.
“(Name)?”
“Link,” you replied, spinning around, eyes studying his form. He was now wearing his green knight’s uniform, but what shocked you was the sword he carried on his back. “I-is that…”
“The Master Sword,” he nodded, “yeah.”
“H-how, what.. What are you… Why do you…”
He sighed, knowing that these questions couldn’t be avoided. “Fi, come out.”
“Yes, Master Link,” a monotonous foreign voice answered as a beautiful woman appeared next to him. Your eyes widened in awe. The woman was floating, and a strange blue light encased her form. She couldn’t have been from this world, and the way Link seemed so calm around her shocked you.
“Explain,” you crossed your arms.
“I am a sword spirit, servant of the great goddess, Hylia,” Fi stated. “Your friend, Zelda, is alive, and I am here to help the re-incarnation of the chosen hero find her.”
“No way… Link is…”
“I couldn’t believe it, either,” the boy admitted. “(Name), look; I’ve already spoken with Mr Unibrow about it and he’s allowed me to take time off the Academy to look for Zelda. I’ll be fine, don’t worry.”
“I know that, but…” you intertwined your fingers with his, “you promised… That we’d go explore the surface together…”
He gave you a sad smile in response, “I know, but… I won’t be able to concentrate with you there. I know you’re strong, and I know you can take care of yourself but… I’ll just get distracted, and what if something happens to you? It would be too much, and once I save one of you, it would be too late to save the other. I just…I can’t risk losing you, too…”
“I understand,” you gave him a sad smile of your own before sending him off. “Go find Zelda, and bring her back home.”
Link smiled, giving you one last hug until he would return.
“Master Link? We must go now. I sense Zelda’s aura is moving. We have a 50% chance of finding her straight away if we leave now,” Fi reminded him.
“Good luck…” you whispered, slowly backing away.
“(Name), wait!” Link called out to you. You looked up, tilting your head at him. “Just incase I don’t come back… Please tell me why you started ignoring me…”
“Come back unharmed and I’ll tell you,” you felt the words getting stuck in your throat. “Find Zelda and come back home…”
Then he left, taking a piece of your heart with him.
.~*~Together~*~.
It had been six months since you last saw Link, and worrying wasn’t helping you at all. Pipit made sure to alert you each time he visited, but you wouldn’t go and see him – you wouldn’t until the journey was over, and Zelda was back safe and sound. All this time, you had practically locked yourself in your room. (H/c) hair had grown longer and (e/c) eyes had lost their spark. Everyone at the Academy was so worried about you – even Groose, who promised not to fight with Link for two whole months if you came out, but you wouldn’t listen to anyone. You wouldn’t start living properly again until you were sure Link was alive, Zelda too.
The door to your room burst open and you shot up, finding Pipit panting at the doorway.
“Pip! I told you not to come into my ro—”
“It’s Link. He and Zelda have returned.”
You wasted no time in rushing out the doorway, shouting a quick “thank you!” to Pipit as you ran to the Goddess Statue, where you knew he’d be waiting.
“Link,” you breathed, sprinting forward and embracing him tightly. The sound of his heartbeat was enough to calm your racing one. He was alive. He was safe.
You stayed like that for a few minutes before he finally spoke up.
“Remember when I asked you to tell me why we grew apart and you wouldn’t?”
You gulped and nodded in reply.
“Well, now, you don’t need to.”
He smiled, pulling out from his pocket a worn-out envelope with a faded heart stamp on it. It looked like it had been hastily glued together after being torn apart. You broke away from him, shaking your head in disbelief.
“That’s the… That’s not…”
“I found the pieces scattered across the surface on my journey,” he explained, “so I glued it together and read it.”
You felt tears form in your eyes, “Link, I…”
“It’s okay, you don’t have to explain anything,” he wiped your tears away with his thumb before kissing your cheek.
“I-I…”
“Does that answer your question?” he smiled, to which you giggled in reply.
“I think you’ll have to be a bit clearer~”
He silenced you with a kiss, causing you to widen your eyes as you melted into it.
At that instant, all of your worries faded away, because you were together with the one you loved, and that was all that mattered.

[My Type, Pipit x Reader]
Summary: ♫ If you wanna be my lover, you gotta ♫ stop playing games with my heart bro like the fuck is wrong with you?
Classes were cancelled and nearly everyone on Skyloft knew it. The students, knights or not, rejoiced as they fled the campus to run amok around in the town square and surrounding areas. Groose and his gang fled for the Lumpy Pumpkin, Zelda had dragged Link off somewhere, Karane was supposedly training, and even Fledge had plans. You, on the other hand, had absolutely nothing to do. Nobody asked you to go anywhere, nobody invited you to anything, and that left you alone.
The only other person on campus, who wasn’t a professor or school staff member, was Pipit. He strolled through the halls emitting a melodic whistle followed by the soft pitter patter of heeled shoes against the stone floors. The windows were cracked allowing a gentle breeze to flow through the hallways causing the drapes strung through the rafters to sway slightly.
You sat cross-legged in your room. It wasn’t the typical bedroom in the Knight’s Academy. With rooms all filled up, you had to settle for a small extra sectioned off from a large closet upstairs. Luckily, it was originally added to board children. Though, it supposedly hadn’t been used for that purpose in years. Your wall was a stack of storage crates decorated with muted red and gold sheets. A small desk was positioned across the room from your bed, a golden lined chest was set at the bottom of your bed, and a few shelves were nailed to the wall above.
“What’s going on in here?” A familiar voice echoed into your room, a friendly face appearing in the doorway. A small smile spread across his freckled face as your eyes met. He moved so that his entire body was inside, a hand coming to rest on his hip.
“You’re not out with the others?” He said.
“No invitations.” You shrugged, moving your book from your lap to the bed side table.
“Then let’s make plans.” He suggested, taking a few steps inward. “I’m free all day.”
You and Pipit had an odd friendship. It was filled with hours of awkward sexual tension and even more hours of mindless flirting, but neither of you ever acted on your feelings. You’d go to one another in times of need and would sometimes spend nights stuck in deep conversations. When he patrolled the campus, you’d follow him around complaining of your day about how absolutely tiring school was. He used to discuss crushes he had, but stopped talking about things like that recently.
Nonetheless, you had a great friendship and a long one too. Even though he was a few years older than you, you couldn’t recall a time that you hadn’t been best friends. When he was promoted to knight, he started doing all he could to get you ready for the next ceremony.
“What plans then? What’s there to do that we haven’t already?” You swung your legs over the side of the bed and began tugging your boots on.
“Well,” he was biting the inside of his mouth, “we could go catch lunch at the Lumpy Pumpkin.”            “No thank you,” you looped the laces around your ankles and started tying a knot, “Groose and his minions are there. You know I can’t stand them.”
“You know, I think Strich likes you.” He smirked, “Possibly Groose too.”
“Gross!” You sent a pillow hurling toward him that he easily caught. “They are most certainly not my type! Bug boy and the mustard giant are not on my radar.”
He suppressed a laugh, “Understandable. How about we go explore the bazaar? Maybe Sparrot has a new fortune for us?”
“Last time he told us I’d come across a small fortune.” You rolled your eyes, “I’ve yet to find that and I’m still struggling to pay for this school.”
“You and me both.” The bed sunk under his weight causing your body to slump towards him. “What if we go grab some sweets and hang out by the waterfall?”
“You really know the way to my heart.” You said while pressed against his arm. “I can never pass up sweets.”
So with a small bag of sweets in hand, the two of you made your way over to the clearing just on the other side of the waterfall that drifted off of the island. Not being the most agile person, you relied mostly on Pipit to go first and catch you on your way over.
“I didn’t make the cut last time so what makes you think I will this time?” You nudged him, urging him to take one of the powdered sugar covered sweets. The candies jostled around in the bag, mixing together as he leaned over in search of a specific flavor.
“I’m training you and you’ve remembered all the vocabulary and techniques. I know you can do it.” He stuck his gloved hand into the bag and removed it with a small piece of orange candy that he plopped into his mouth.
“Yeah? Well, I hope I can. Classes have been boring since you left.”
“You’ve still got Link, Zelda, and Fledge, right?”
“Just not the same, I need you there so I’m not distracted the whole time.”
He narrowed his eyes as the corner of his mouth upturned in a smirking fashion, “Wouldn’t I be more of a distraction? You never stopped passing me notes when we had classes together.”
“And now I never stop sleeping. I swear, the professor yells at Link and I nearly every day for not paying attention.”
“So that’s all the more reason you need to win the next ceremony.”
“What if I don’t want to look like a loser, like you?” You poked at his floppy yellow-dyed hat positioned on his head. “How does that thing even stay on?”
“Excuse me,” he swatted at your hand, “but this uniform is very important! I wear it with pride and when you eventually do, you should as well. It’s highly respectable and… why are you laughing?”
Covering your mouth you shook your head side to side, “You get all preachy, Mr. Prideful. I’m joking. I actually think it makes you look quite…” You were cut off by sudden footsteps hurrying in your direction. Looking up, you noticed Karane approaching with a hopeful, almost urgent, look on her face. If she was here, you knew your day with Pipit had come to a close.
“Hey guys.” She said happily, despite knowing that she was about to steal away one from the pair. Pipit’s normal playfulness dissipated and was replaced with a nervousness that you only saw when he had a crush. While he hadn’t spoken of Karane in a while, you knew he still had feelings for her.
“Hi Karane.” Pipit responded followed by a simple “Hey” from you.
“I hate to do this to you [Name],” No you don’t. You thought as she clasped her hands in front of herself, “but would you mind if I stole Pipit for a short while?” A short while? The words rung in your head like the many times prior. It was obvious and you knew that she meant no harm but you utterly loathed her presence in situations like this nonetheless.
With lips pulled tautly and shoulders tense, you replied, “Yeah, that’s fine.”
A wide grin spread across her face as she thanked you and motioned for Pipit to follow, who complied without giving it a second thought. As he left, he patted you on the shoulder and gave you a reassuring look.
“I’ll talk to you later, yeah?” He watched your eyes, waiting for a response.
           “Yeah.”
He left as fast as Karane showed up, trailing behind her as they made their way across the rocks and back into town, leaving you in the grassy field alone. Maybe it was time to move on.
In the days following, classes picked back up, the professors yelled at you more, and Pipit was spending a lot of his free time with Karane. It had been rumored that the two had become a couple, but without confirmation from him you chose to take it as a grain of salt.
Three weeks passed with no interaction with Pipit. Either he was avoiding you, or possibly you were avoiding him. If he and Karane were truly dating, you didn’t want to interject yourself in the middle of it and cause some sort of scene. You found yourself waking too late for breakfast and sometimes missing lunch. Zelda had urged you to come sit with her, Link, and Fledge when you did make it. According to her, she desperately needed another woman at the table.
While it was nice to sit with them, it wasn’t the same as before. There was no impish bickering, no mouthful laughter, and no flirtatious kicking of feet under the table. Instead he sat with the seniors, seemingly stuck in intriguing conversations concerning flight tactics and drills. Is this the after effects of graduating that you had been desperately fending off in hopes of saving a friendship?
“You’ve been quiet lately.” Zelda leaned forward from her spot next to you at the table. Her plate was half empty while yours was nearly filled except for a few missing carrots and pumpkin slices.
“I have?” You questioned, picking your fork back up to push the contents of your plate from one side to the other. Looking around the table, the other two nodded in agreement.
“Yeah [Name],” Fledge said, “are you alright?”
           “What? I’m fine guys.”
“Are you sure?” Zelda flashed you a worried look before lowering her voice, “Is it a problem with Pipit? I’ve noticed you two haven’t been talking as much.”
“Pipit?” You scrunched your nose up before turning to glance in his direction. He was nodding to something someone else had said, clearly having a good time. “We still talk occasionally. He’s just busy right now.”
“Did you hear that he and Karane are a couple now?” Fledge added, unaware of your feelings for the boy in question. Zelda shot him a quick look, to which he closed his mouth and focused back on his plate. She never outright said she knew how you felt for Pipit, but from the small hints she gave every now and again it was obvious to you that she had figured it out.
“I did. He hasn’t mentioned it, but it seems like they’re happy together.”
Quickly changing the subject, Zelda got lost in a conversation with Fledge about upcoming tests and possibly starting a study group in order to prepare. You continued to mix your food with your fork, watching as it slowly mushed together and became undesirable. Eventually, you lost your appetite. Politely excusing yourself, you assured Zelda you’d be back in time for the next class. Then swiftly picking up your plate you rushed to the trash barrels, scraped it clean, and gently laid it in the sink for Henya to care for later.
Upon your exit, you nearly ran into the body standing in your path. He turned awkwardly and, while rubbing his hands together like a praying mantis, looked as if he had something to say. It was Strich, the last person you wanted to speak to at the moment. On his other side was Cawlin, urging him to speak. It was rare to see them without their pack leader, but with a simple turn of the head you could see him practically harassing Link and Zelda back in the dining hall.
“Oh, hey [Name].” Strich finally spoke.
“Hi.” You said blankly, confused as to why he wouldn’t just move a foot to the right and be out of your way. Your body was half in the room, half not, and you didn’t plan on sticking around a moment more than you needed to. Especially not with the two of them. Who knows when the mustard giant would give up on the other two to rejoin his group.
           “Are you busy?”
           “Right now? Yeah.”
“No, I meant later.” He corrected himself, “Possibly after class?”
“Why?” You had an idea as to why.
“I was thinking we could go somewhere.”
           “Like on a walk?”
“Like on a date.” He finally sputtered out, earning a hearty pat on the back from Cawlin.
“Uh,” you pondered. Did you really want to go? No. Were the options for suitable men on Skyloft running out? Yes. “Sure. I’ll see you later.”
Pushing past, you mentally slapped yourself as you made your way up the back staircase to your room where a comfy bed was waiting. Flopping onto the sheets, you rested facedown for a moment before rolling onto your back. Your hands ran down your face, tugging slightly at your skin causing it to stretch then snap back into place. What have I just agreed to?
The date was apparently right after class before nightfall. He planned on taking you to dinner at Pipers. While you did love a good meal from the town’s chef, you didn’t particularly look forward to dining with Strich. He’s a nice guy, just not your type.
“Are you ready for the upcoming exams?” You attempted to make conversation. He looked up from his bowl, nodded, and then returned his attention to the dish.
“Cawlin and I have been helping Groose study.”
“Oh, that’s awfully nice of you.”
The rest of the dinner was composed of you struggling to find common interests while he gave short responses unless he was discussing some sort of bug he liked. On your way back to the academy, he would stop to point out a grasshopper or butterfly that had settled down in the area. He even explained that he had some island where he had all the types of bugs he could ever want. Leaving out details about its location, he did mention that he’d show it to you sometime specifically saying, “maybe on our fifth date, only after I can trust you.”
When you returned, it was night and most everyone had settled into their respective rooms. Strich left you at the front gates after you said you needed to run home real quick to grab something. In reality, you just didn’t want to have to walk to your rooms together. Sitting down on the steps, your face found your hands as your body hunched over. What a nightmare this “date” was. He needed somebody who had shared interests, not someone who found certain bugs to be weird and kind of gross. You needed somebody that wasn’t him.
“You know it’s not keen to be out so late.” Pipit appeared from thin air, coming to sit next to you on the step. A lazy arm strung around your shoulder, tugging your body closer to his.
“What’s wrong?” He asked once realizing your foul mood. “I heard you and Strich went on a date. How was that?”
“How do you think it was?” A firefly spiraled around the two of you before flying off in another direction. Maybe it was a spy sent by Strich to watch you, with his odd connection to the little critters you wouldn’t be surprised. Its neon glow disappeared into the night air, flashing a couple of times as it made its way into the distance.
“Bad?” He jostled you, shaking your frame slightly.
“Pipit, he only talked about bugs. Bugs!”
His shoulders shook up and down as he suppressed a chuckle. “Why’d you even go on it?”
“He was the only option.” You shrugged. “All the other guys in Skyloft are taken.”
           “What am I then?”
Drawing your eyebrows together, you raised your head. Eye wandering, they eventually met his. He looked frustrated. His head was tilted to the right and his eyes were flickering from the ground to your face. It was apparent he wanted to say something, as his mouth would open then close.
           “You’re dating Karane.”
One of his brows raised, “I’m not dating Karane.”
           “Everyone is talking about it.”
“[Name],” he grasped at your shoulder, “I didn’t take you as one to believe rumors.”
“I’m not! It’s just- just you and her. You used to like her. I remember you telling me about it. Then you kept leaving to go spend time with her. I just figured…” your voice began to trail off, “I figured it was true.”
“Well, we did date for a short time.” He started, “A few weeks ago, actually.”
           “You’re not dating now?”
           “She’s not my type.”
           “Then what’s your type?”
“I know it sounds cliché,” A light hand reached up to catch the stray hair falling in front of your face. He tucked it back behind your ear, his hand lingering for a moment leaving behind a burning sensation on your skin. “You are.”
I always loved Pipit and he never got as much love as I wanted to see. Actually, Skyward Sword never got the attention I wanted it to. IT’S A GOOD GAME LIKE COME ON. Anyway, be prepared for more Pipit stuff in the future
