Have you ever heard of that epic sci-fi LGBTQ+ adventure novel titled, Phoenix Undying?? Omg it's a sapphic mess tossed into a post apocalyptic future with mutated giant lizards, airships, sky pirates and sexy characters. With a wild badass immortal anti-hero named, Phoenix who seriously needs to get her shit together. When suddenly she gets herself into a situation she never asked for. Randomly becomes responsible for an 11 year old orphan boy with psychic abilities, is asked to help eradicate humanity by an ethereal being just to save the planet from their destruction and all for the exchange to end her tormented immortal life. 😌❤

The author is a crazy lesbian chick! She painted an illustration for each chapter. She is absolutely insane and kinda bad at writing but her story is totally the best. (Maybe.) So If you like dumb cringy humor and badass women and sexy villains, give it a read! 😉🌹

You can order it on Amazon for like $2 because she practically wants to give it away for free. Sometimes she does! It's that good. And if you don't like the story you can at least enjoy the art. 😌

#joshua rosfield #ffxviedit #final fantasy xvi #jote #ffxvi #i have so many feelings!! #i think it's really interesting that jote and joshua have never had an equal dynamic in their relationship #jote has been a protector of joshua's since she was little #even before he regained consciousness she was caring for him #the undying weren't sure he would ever wake up and when he did they must have been so afraid to lose him again #the undying in general are really fraught with their approach to the rosfields and the phoenix/the all-too-willing self-sacrifice #joshua never stood a chance of having a normal childhood regardless of where he grew up #and presumably jote also grew up in the undying so she has never truly experienced a peer to peer relationship with joshua #as soon as joshua woke up she was helping him to stay well and accompanying him on his journey #and in this scene she can't imagine not being by his side #she's scared for his safety but also probably very lost #what does she do with her life now? where does her energy go if not to protecting the phoenix? #i wonder about how jote and joshua feel about each other romantically #i know that they may not feel that way toward each other at all #the romantic shipper in me would like to think they do #it's just such a complicated and special and tender dynamic between them

There's something that has been bothering for a moment now, and of course Jote noticed. She always makes sure Joshua's doing alright, and he appreciates it. He wishes she hadn't, though. He's not sure he wants to know the truth. That's why he had remained silent since they left Dalimil. He wishes he hadn't been sick, so he could have seen by himself.

He hesitates before asking the question; he's still not sure he wants to do it. Jote is his protector, but she's also the only friend he has. "I think I felt my brother's presence in Dalimil. Why did you want us to leave ?" he asks calmly. He's not mad at her; he just wishes to understand.

Jote wasn’t going to take any chances after Lostwing. Travelling as part of a large group had blown up in their faces and had almost cost Jote her life in one way or another and possibly Joshua’s freedom by being forced to serve Waloed. As long as they didn’t stay in one place too long, they wouldn’t draw too much attention on themselves so they can travel through the rest of Ash. 

Seeing the commotion going on downstairs, Jote felt it was best not to get involved as it would put them in the spotlight. That was something that the Undying wanted to avoid as the group operated from the shadows as much as possible and the ruckus downstairs would be bad publicity should they have to return at a later date. 

“My apologies my lord. There was a fight going on downstairs. Someone was fighting members of the Waloedian army. Didn’t want to risk you being targeted after Lostwing and Caer Norvent.” She admitted. She didn’t know what the transgressors want and didn’t want to possibly risk another encounter. 

Hearing that he had felt his brother caused Jote to stop in her tracks for a while. She doubted that Joshua would make up a story for no reason, but that begged the question of what Clive would possibly be doing out this far. “Do you think that it might have been your brother that was fighting the soldiers?” Part of her contemplated having the two of them go back, but that was going to be at Joshua’s discretion if they go back into Dalimil or not.

making ocs is all fun and games until you try to write concrete lore about a nebulous yet core concept that you previously handwaved for the sake of "it's cool if this happens"

#i am Trying. to figure out how archangel resurrects. but i can't see myself using the infinite clones avenue in that setting #and it feels lame if he just like. pops back up again in a few days like hi im back :) #and i don't know whether i want to go with a more magic-based (the wizards curse) or tech-based (the nanomachines son) approach #because both have pros and cons but :( i just feel like its kind of stupid in general..... #most of what ive done with him so far has been from a more magic-based angle (caught by mages and bound to the undying frame) #but i've always handwaved the undying frame part a little bit. like oh he just reforges himself :) kind of like a phoenix or whatever #but How does that work. i feel like i need to have something figured out so i can write about rhinn digging around in his guts #and playing engineer with his empty shell. which would suggest a more tech-based approach for the eroticism of circuitry and machines #but full tech feels out of place in the setting (very bloodborne dark souls inspired) but also i want a million robots in there #for enrichment. but :( #i need to put him down ig. like all other compelling robot characters because he is too hard to work with #see more tags is something that can be so dangerous sorry to anyone that falls for this one simple trick
