In honor of their continued generosity, Abbiocco’s Fine Dining has banded together with the Higuri Regalia to present to the people of  Etheirys with a night most memorable!

To commemorate the release of the PiB Catalogue’s eighth clothing line, the gourmet restaurant’s staff have allowed the use of their establishment for a night of haute couture!  Music and food aplenty as the Diamond Sultan himself unveils his latest and greatest masterworks!

The models will be showing off select items from the PiB Catalogue’s new line, detailing the designs and materials one after the other.  “A dedication to all of the brave citizens and adventurers”, as Lord Thiji states.

The Mythril Showcase! 

This fashion competition was created during the Second Umbral Moon (April, 2022) to provide the people of Etheirys the opportunity to show off their acumen in style.   The merchant-lord and fashion nabob himself wishes to test the skill and daring of haute couture hopefuls through a theme of his choosing.

As per the name of the event, this theme will be “Sugar, Spice, & Everything Ice”.  As a lover of all things frigid, the eccentric Sultan desires to kick off the official coming of Winter in a proper manner by seeing who has what it takes to capture the season’s many facets through style.

Those who wish to participate are welcome, and will be handsomely rewarded with a glamour weapon of their choosing for their efforts (GSM/WVR/ALC Specialist).   To allow for more freedom in this contest due to the broadness of the category that is Winter, there will be two brackets: one for original outfits, and the other for cosplay.  The top four winners of both categories will receive far more generous prizes!

4th Place Winner: A choice between Pixie or Archangel Wings, or a Return to Oblivion Orchestrion Roll!

3rd Place Winner: A choice between a Pterrosquirrel or Sewer Skink!

  Contestants will be judged based on a variety of categories on a 1-to-10 scale.  For the sake of fairness, these criteria will be made known to all.  They are as follows:

-Originality/Emulation: Creating your own original costume or cosplaying a certain character from another source (Anime/Cartoon/Movie/etc.)

-Adherence: Remaining within the scope of the theme.

-Embellishment: Complimenting your outfit with accessories and other small details.

-Stage Presence: Your ability to “strut your stuff” via actions or integration of emotes.

-Reception: How well you command the audience’s excitement and attention.

*-Innovation: Any additional nuances to your entry (using minions, reciting lines, etc.) for extra points.

Christmas Boss ask meme

1. What was Christmas like for your Boss growing up? Do they miss it?

In all honesty Casey probably had some OK Christmases when she was very young, particularly when her Nonna was still alive. Deeply religious but they also would have worked at bringing a little magic to it. But obviously once her mom became neglectful, that kind of overtook the good ones. Her sister would try and make Christmas a little better when she was old enough to do so but Casey's memory of them is overall pretty bleak. She's kind of naive about a lot of Christmas "stuff" until 2020 when I set the DLC, some of it she didn't learn until 2021.

4. How would your Boss react to their partner or love interest (or one of them) walking up to them with mistletoe?

We know Casey pretends she doesn't like "romantic crap" and until 2021 she didn't actually know much about mistletoe because of her general avoidance of Christmas. However she has a significant moment that same year with Matt and mistletoe which was the first moment she kind of let herself realise he was beautiful(she'd been falling for him more subconsciously for a while by this point though).

For that reason alone, if Matt walked up to her with some from the following year when they are dating, she'd probably get an unusually soft smile on her face as he walked up to her. If he took his time she'd probably kiss him before he even got it over her head. Her reactions may not be as immediately passionate as the years go on, but it would always make her smile. 😊

9. What would be the ideal Christmas for your Boss?

Before the events of Christmas 2020 it would have been laying in bed drinking a bottle of scotch from the moment anyone even utters the word "holiday". Cookies optional. Fuck buddy optional. Not that her Saints would necessarily let her have that, but given how secretive she is about her past, she probably managed to sneak away to a hotel room for a few days under the guise of seeing family and do that.

After the events of the DLC she took an interest in learning more about Christmas traditions and in 2021 she asked the Zin to help get everything her Saints might want (with the promise the Saints would do the same for whenever the Zin's next holiday was) to enjoy it. It was obviously a small gathering aboard the ship, a few drinks and movies on Christmas eve and then dinner and presents on Christmas day. There was obviously some chaos going on while Casey was in the simulation getting her pony from "Santa"; when Casey asks Matt if it resembles a British Christmas his thoughts are "No snow, too much booze and a fight." and he's inclined to agree.

The Saints still have a small gathering on Christmas Day for the next few years because they're kind of having to make new traditions after the loss of the Earth. As they grow older with their own homes, partners, families, new friends etc. they do tend to keep some sort of gathering, just not always with everyone and not on Christmas Day.

21. Anything else you want to talk about regarding your Boss and this time of year?

It won't let me upload the damn video but this was one of the moments that made me decide like yeah, why not say she's into Nyte Blayde by this point?

(Her lipstick always glitches off on the ship for some reason. Also Matt is not at all terrifying in that first one.)

But also something I probably won't get around to drawing but in "real time" she is coming up to around 16 weeks pregnant right now, so I'm picturing part of Christmas 2023 being the Saints setting up a camera on a timer to take a few photos and for the second one she and Matt just pull out this long concertina of sonogram photos to capture everyone's reactions. Some of them already kind of suspected something but she didn't have a noticeable bump yet and for some this was the first indication so... yeah. Probably a very funny photo!

Blod på snø av Jo Nesbø

Hei folkens! I dag er jeg veldig begeistret fordi jeg nylig hentet et eksemplar av en bok skrevet av en kjent norsk krimforfatter, Jo Nesbø. Boka kalles Blod på snø, og den er en del av en serie. Vennen min gav meg et eksemplar av oppfølgeren Mere Blod noen 3 år siden. Å lese den andre boka i serien først var nok fint og jeg var i stand til å nyte historien. Det skal bli veldig hyggelig å lese den første og lære hvordan alt begynte.

Jeg fikk boka gjennom USAs fjernlånsystem, så jeg kan dessverre ikke fornye lånet, men det er ok fordi det oppmuntrer meg til å lese mer enn vanlig. Jeg kommer til å bruke denne bloggen for å holde styr på ord jeg har problemer med. Jeg vil ikke overvelde meg, så jeg har fortalt meg selv at jeg skal bare søke 10 ord hver dag (ikke hver kapittel).

To Tie A Knot: Chapter 1: Damian's Despair

Here we go-

Summary: When Damian woke up to his fatestring severed, he knew to expect fate to reassign him a soulmate. What he didn't expect was to wake up to four of them. (DLAMP)

Trigger Warnings: Sympathetic Deceit, house fire, burning, sirens, pain, minor character death, death of a parent, foster care system, compulsive lying (There may be more)

Word Count: 1,393 Words

Note: This chapter was kinds delayed due to some issues with technology. I planned on 2000 words, but it just didn't work out that way. I hope this isn't underwhelming, you'll get the other's POV and background in the next chapter.

It was hot.

It was really, really hot.

Damian's clothes stuck to his slim figure as he tossed and turned in his sleep, desperate to find the sweet relief of slumber. It never came.

The seven year old listened to the sound of nearing sirens, wondering who they could be for. His mother had told him when he was even younger, when he heard a siren, it meant someone was going to be saved. Damian had prodded further,

'Saved from what, mama?' He had asked that morning, shoveling rice krispies into his mouth.

'All kinds of things babe. If you're in danger, you call 9-1-1, and they'll come and help. Whether there's a bad guy in the house, or you old ma fell down the stairs,' she had teased.

Dee noticed the sirens grew louder, pondering getting up and watching the lights drive past his windows. They were definitely close enough by now. He became very aware of how sticky and humid his room seemed to be, his blankets heavy and dense. He sat up, flicking on the lamp.

It didn't turn on.

Okay, the bulb must be dead. Perhaps off. The seven year old threw his cover off, swinging his legs onto the floor. It was uncomfortably warm.

Shrugging it off, Damian got on his knees to check the plug in. It was pushed in all the way. The seven year old finally began to panic, realizing the sirens were deafening.

He shot up, running over to his window. There was a large red firetruck in his driveway, and strange people in scary suits running around. He noticed a red and yellow glow on the ground. One of the firefighters noticed him, pointing up to his second story bedroom.

Damian froze in terror, ice running through his veins. What was happening?

He ran to his door, desperate to get to his mothers. He grabbed the door handle, attempting to twist. It took a few seconds before the pain set in.

He shrieked, ripping his hand from the knob. His hand and fingers throbbed, his flesh red and blistered. Tears filled his eyes, and he screamed.

The boy trembled, stumbling back away from the door, only now realizing the small flames that licked at the bottom. Somewhere in his small, seven year old mind, it registered what was happening.

"Mama! Mom!" Damian screamed, trying to get his mother's attention. There was no answer. He became aware of the low roar of fire, the cracking of the wood.

He continued backwards as the flames traveled up the paint, consuming his wall and door. He held a hand in front if his face, the light blinding.

His shoulder brushed a plastic shelf, knocking it over. Papers and books spread across the floor, and the flammable material instantly burst into flame. Soon, half of the boy's room was in flames.

His back now to the window, Damian stood still with fear. The room was so hot, so unbearably hot. The boy's mouth so dry, so unbearably dry. There was no more room, no more-

And then, it happened.

His pajama sleeve caught fire.

The next two minutes went by in a blur. Damian screaming has his shirt caught fire, barely noticing the smashing glass from behind him. A hand grabbing his shirt, ripping him from the room just on time. His shirt being stomped out, but not until his entire left side was covered in third degree burns. Being thrown onto a gurney and rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, and passing out.

Fifteen years had passed since that night. Fifteen years of physical healing. Emotional healing? That was another story.

Damian didn't talk to many people anymore, both his mothers had died in that fire, and he was thrown into the foster system before a chance to say goodbye to anyone. It was a sad, lonely life from then on. Only when he was in college did he make a friend, Remy Nyte.

Remy was Damian's exact opposite. The insomniac was charismatic, didn't care about people who stared at his crop-tops, heels, or large earrings. He didn't care about how people looked at him when he called them pet names.

Damian, on the other hand, cared a lot about how others perceived him. But he was good at not allowing others to see that. In fact, Damian was an exceptional liar. A compulsive liar, if you will. Years in the foster system caused him to grow cold and calloused, doing what he had to.

Remy didn't mind this, of course.

The two hung out often, sleepovers and long phone calls were normal, routine. Remy would call Dee when he couldn't sleep, which was almost every night. The two got along really well, which surprised most people.

Then, Remy met his soulmate. Soulmates was that special someone were meant to be with, someone you would love and cherish, someone with whom you were 100% compatible. You knew who they were by what you'd call a fatestring, a small thin piece of unbreakable yarn that was attached to someone else's finger. No one could see or touch it except you and your soulmate.

Remy had explained his as a soft peach color, and spoke of it with a softness Damian was unfamiliar with coming from the diva. Remy said that he and his soulmate would pluck back and forth to each other, not doing anything but enjoying the feeling.

Damian wished his would do that. All he got was a sharp tug when he'd try. He's had the small green string all his life, even as he was ripped from that window.

Emile was a sweet guy, he really was. Cute, kiddy colors, and a love for anything cartoon.

'Opposites must really attract,' Damian had though the day he met the boy. Remy seemed more than happy though, a smile donned widely across his pale face.

Damian was happy for them, he really was.

Funny enough, it all happened on the same day. The day Remy found his soulmate, Damian had lost his own.

"Look, I'm really happy for you guys, really, but I gotta go," Damian stated, standing up from Remy's couch awkwardly.

Remy waved him off, "Mkay gurl, do what you want, I'm not stopping anybody."

"I'll see ya tomorrow!" Emile said, smiling widely. Damian gave him an appreciative nod, before throwing on his coat and stepping out. The second he closed the door behind him, he gave a sigh of relief. The air in there was awkward, and he felt like he had been third-wheeling something awful.

Oh well, no way to fix it now.

Damian ran a hand through his hair, picking up his beloved bowler hat he wore outside sometimes. He traveled down the hallway, through the door that lead to the stairs, and briskly walked into the cold evening air. He buried his nose behind a scarf, thankful for the cover up of his awfully scarred face.

His apartment was only a few blocks away, and it didn't take too long for him to arrive. He hung up his clothing and relaxed onto the couch, flicking on the television. Nothing good was on.

He rolled over, turning it off. He didn't have much else to do, so he debated maybe going out to eat. He did have a bit of money saved up and there was this really nice-

A sharp pain shot through his arm, shooting straight through his heart. It began to beat rapidly. What was that?

He sat up, rubbing circles over the organ under his chest, his ribcage rising and falling with each rapid intake of oxygen.

Another flash of pain, longer this time.

Damian yelped, jumping up. Another pain, and this time it didn't go away. It only worsened.

He let out a sharp cry, clutching at his rapidly beating heart, his hand filled with a searing pain. Everything began to hurt, his muscles tight, tears pouring from his eyes.

He fell backward onto the coffee table, rolling over it.

Oh God, oh God it hurt so bad.

He crawled back against a wall, the pain so intense he couldn't find it in him to scream. Seconds felt like minutes, minutes like hours, hours like days.

By the time it began to fade, he was already unconscious, leaning against the wall.

MODEL: Nyte Snow

No self-respecting chef would dare set foot into their own establishment without looking the part. 

The Thandha Cuisinier’s set will do just that with its simple yet practical design.  Woven primarily with Himvat Cloth, this set was inspired by renowned cooks from a bygone realm whose specialties lied with creating wondrous dessert dishes.

The Culinarian’s main tool of choice has been dubbed “Hestia”, and is an otherwise unassuming non-stick skillet inlaid with tiny ice-aspected gems to help regulate temperature and mitigate the inevitable - yet easily avoidable - circumstances of overcooking one’s food.  Much like most other skillets, this particular tool has a diamond-shaped imprint upon its surface, and the inner layer is made visible through a glimmering snowflake outline.  It is said to glow dimly when its magic is working.

The Thandha Cuisinier has been recommended by Abbiocco’s own proprietress as the gear set of choice, and will undoubtedly rival even the famed Bismarck and Last Stand combined.  And yes, what you see is no jest: the toque can be visibly worn by Viera and Hrothgar alike.  (Take that, Squeenix).

Season Seventeen is complete. Results for White Rabbit, Whatever Happened, Happened, and The Shape of Things to Come under the cut. Points noted for winners, but not tabulated, as I’m going to overhaul the point standings.

WHITE RABBIT

Ophidian, Fire Ant, and Obariyon are at the Wrestle Factory talking about their new group, with Ophidian saying that they need to seek out the one who understands the true meaning of vengeance if they're going to call themselves "The Furies"...and Icarus is listening in. (Note: I've read through the results prior to this, and some of the segments involving The Furies seem a little out of order to me. I don't know if it'll be that way for anyone else.)

Match #1: Singles Contest Race Jaxon vs. Ophidian

Not a great start for Ophidian considering this new group of his, as Jaxon defeated him with a discus clothesline he's calling the Head Shot.

WINNER: Race Jaxon (1 point)

Match #2: Singles Contest Obariyon vs. Frightmare

In contrast to his newfound partner, Obariyon was off to the races, defeating Mare with the dreaded Flying DDT. Hallowicked tried to interfere, only to be run off by Icarus.

WINNER: Obariyon (1 point)

Time to check in on Officers Barksdale and Meloni! They're at police training! Meloni's enthusiastic, but Barksdale isn't.

Match #3: Tag Contest Crummels and DeFarge vs. Sylverhawk and Razerhawk

This didn't end well for the Hawx, as DeFarge got the pin on Razer after a Mucus Claw and an Amaze Impact. (Mucus Claw? Really?)

WINNERS: Crummels and DeFarge (1 point)

Travis Huckabee admits he made mistakes as a referee, but he decided to live his life differently and not run from bullies. He'll run from other things, like spiders, crazy exes, and his Aunt Carol (and don't we all have crazy relatives we'd like to run from), but not bullies. And Solo Darling shows up to agree that spiders are totally scary. (Will you two please just date already?)

Match #4: Singles Contest Travis Huckabee vs. Max Smashmaster

Yeah, that bully thing? Might've been better to run from them after all. Smashmaster pretty much murdered Travis with two tombstone piledrivers, and would've done a third if Bryce hadn't threatened a DQ.

WINNER: Max Smashmaster (1 point)

Heidi Lovelace speaks about how CHIKARA has affected her, then speaks about facing Arik Cannon again. Looks like this is officially her last match with CHIKARA, and considering that she's just made her debut on NXT, it's good timing.

Match #5: Singles Contest Heidi Lovelace vs. Arik Cannon

And Heidi went out on top, courtesy of a Greco-Roman Liplock (I'm not sure if that's a joke or not) and a small package.

WINNER: Heidi Lovelace (1 point, automatically Inactive)

The Closers accuse Moustache Mountain of cowardice! They're tired of waiting and they're going to break the competition.

Match #6: Grand Championship Defense Hallowicked (champion) vs. Wani

Wani earned his third point during the last batch of events, but was unable to make good on his shot, as Hallowicked retained with Never Wake Up.

WINNER: Hallowicked

Team Sea Stars, who didn't get the memo, ask Heidi to be their mentor. She's flattered and thinks they have loads of potential, but she's headed off into the sunset. She wishes them luck anyway.

WHATEVER HAPPENED, HAPPENED

Next to an ice-covered car on a wintry street (what a contrast from the last time), Lucas Calhoun talks about Eskimos and snow, accuses Jeremy Leary of being an impostor, then accepts the hair vs. hair challenge.

Mark Angelosetti congratulates Dasher Hatfield on winning the Golden Opportunity, and Dasher earmarks it for getting the Throwbacks a shot at the CdP. (So wait, why did the Ice Creams have to cash in both of theirs, when one apparently works just as well for the same purpose?)

Match #1: Singles Contest Merlok vs. Nytehawk

Merlok apparently has it in for the Hawx. Nyte fell to an Emerald Flosion.

WINNER: Merlok (1 point)

Officer Meloni is officially Officer Barksdale's backup, and introduces Officer Magnum to him. (What the heck is Boot Juice?)

Match #2: The Force w/Officer Magnum vs. Hiptoss Hank and Benny the Beal

Same as usual for matches involving the squad of enhancement guys Benny and Hank belong to. Law & Order double team on Hank.

WINNERS: The Force (1 point)

Princess Kimberlee's being blackmailed into facing another friend, as she's not happy about having to face Fire Ant.

Match #3: Singles Contest Princess Kimberlee vs. Fire Ant

Kimberlee gave her tiara to Bryce instead of a fan, then reluctantly exploited a knee injury Fire sustained during the match. She eventually secured the win with the Coronation.

WINNER: Princess Kimberlee (1 point)

Crummels and DeFarge are still not happy about Moustache Mountain not showing up. (You're not the only ones, Dickensians.) They're also not happy about Dasher putting his GO towards a CdP shot and declare that he's not cutting in line. They'll keep collecting points, but they'd rather just have their shot.

Match #4: Tag Contest Cornelius Crummels and Sonny DeFarge vs. Travis Huckabee and Solo Darling

And they're continuing to collect points, as Huckabee falls to Great Expectations.

WINNERS: Crummels and DeFarge (1 point)

And Whisper's still not done with Kimberlee, as she's still being blackmailed.

Match #5: Singles Contest, Hair vs. Hair Jeremy Leary vs. Lucas Calhoun

And it's still unacceptable that Leary has swiped Calhoun's gear. (Insert Mr. Lemongrab here!) Calhoun avenged his honor by defeating Leary with a Super Samoan Drop.

WINNER: Lucas Calhoun (1 point)

You'd think this would end it, but nope. The aftermath got a little weird. To explain what happened, I'm going to C/P from the CHIKARA Season 17 results thread on the 101. This is courtesy of our friend and infodumper extraordinare Jay 2K Winger...

"After losing, Leary tried to weasel out of it, but the ref would not let him. Leary finally told him to go ahead and do it. Leary finally said, "You know what, big brother, go ahead and do it." Calhoun said he had enough of Leary's nonsense, but Leary said it wasn't nonsense, it was perfect sense. "Let me see if I can rekindle your memory, big brother, do you remember Callux? And what about Freytar?* I got one for you, what about Professor Nicodemus? You remember them, don't you? Go ahead." (* I couldn't make out the names that Leary used here.) Calhoun asked if "That's what this was all about, you wanna beat me? You wanna steal my identity?! Well you can have it!" Calhoun started shaving his own head, while Leary looked on smugly. Leary laughed as Calhoun left. Calhoun came back and Leary left while Calhoun shaved his head. Calhoun said, "You wanna be Lucas Calhoun? You can have it, and all that comes with it.""

No, I don't quite get it, either.

UltraMantis Black is cashing in his points! He talks about winning King of Trios with Hallowicked, then about going through him to win the Grand Championship.

Match #6: Grand Championship Defense Hallowicked (champion) vs. UltraMantis Black

Wicked explicitly targeted Mantis' left leg, hoping to exploit what nearly ended his career. Tecnicos showed up to cheer Mantis on during the match. As we all know from NPWD '17 and beyond, the result of this was a foregone conclusion, as Mantis took out Wicked and took the title with a Praying Mantis Bomb before being hoisted up on the shoulders of the gathered tecnicos.

WINNER and NEW GRAND CHAMPION: UltraMantis Black

Ophidian gives advice to Sylverhawk before Solo Darling and Travis Huckabee show up. Solo has to be corrected regarding the group not being named the "Furries", but they both sign on.

THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME

Kimberlee is at the barber shop, she's glad "he" is gone, that she can put "that skeleton" back in the closet, and she asks what's new with the barber.

Match #1: Tag Contest The Force w/Officer Magnum vs. Hermit Crab and Cajun Crawdad

Meloni ended up cuffing Crab to the ropes so they could hit Crawdad with Law & Order. (And how is that fair?)

WINNERS: The Force (1 point)

Juan Francisco de Coronado is not happy to have to start from the bottom of the rankings again, and he intends to take that out on Missile Assault Man.

Match #2: Singles Contest Missile Assault Man vs. Juan Francisco de Coronado

A deft counter of the Missile Launcher into his trademark German suplex got JFDC the win here.

WINNER: Juan Francisco de Coronado (1 point)

Ophidian's with Fire Ant, Obariyon, and Icarus to formally announce the formation of The Furies. (The segment order for these seriously does not make sense.)

Match #3: Trios Contest The Furies (Icarus, Fire Ant, and Obariyon) vs. The Legion of Rot (Hallowicked, Frightmare, and Kobald)

Kobald wasn't exactly happy to see his former partner on the opposite side, and he was conflicted about striking him when confronted. Obariyon even directly asked him whose side he was on. (Guess we'll find that out when someone freaking fixes him!) He ended up being hit with a Shiranui, Yahtzee Kick, and a flying headbutt, then pinned.

WINNERS: The Furies

Ophidian addresses Princess Kimberlee and her recent behavior. (And doesn't look to know the cause of it!) He'll do what he must.

Match #4: Singles Contest Princess Kimberlee vs. Ophidian

Kimberlee came into this match with three points, and continued her reluctant merciless, looking to the back frequently as she did so. (Another point of weird editing, wasn't "he" already gone?) Unfortunately for her, Ophidian pinned her with a bridging backslide.

WINNER: Ophidian (1 point), Kimberlee is out of the standings

Match #5: Three-Way Tag Contest Two falls to win, to the winners go the spoils (AKA the vacated Campeonatos de Parejas) Crummels and DeFarge vs. The Throwbacks vs. The Closers

So we never got a single defense from Moustache Mountain. Really. Yeah, that was a bit of a waste. From what I've seen, they also look to still have the physical CdP, unless they returned them between earlier in the month and now.

Anyways, the first fall went to the Throwbacks, as Dasher jackhammered Caprice. Crummels and DeFarge took the second, as Crummels utilized an Oklahoma roll to defeat Roland. Third fall to the Closers, as Caprice pinned Crummels after the Deal Breaker. The Closers went after Touchdown, but got distracted as Crummels rung the bell, making them think they won the match. Crummels then dove at Caprice, blocking him against the ropes as DeFarge swooped in on a prone touchdown to get their second fall and secure the CdP.

WINNERS and NEW CAMPEONATOS DE PAREJAS: Cornelius Crummels and Sonny DeFarge

The Furies go recruiting in the tecnico locker room, and Team Sea Stars signs on.

Loooooooots of talking from Race Jaxon, who apparently saw fit to give us a history lesson on him. (And you all hated Juan Francisco de Coronado back in the day for talking so much.) Apparently he has three points, and he's going after UltraMantis Black.

Match #6: Grand Championship Defense UltraMantis Black (champion) vs. Race Jaxon

Race got his shirt stuck over his head. Mantis murdered him. Three straight Praying Mantis Bombs. The pre-match interview from Race was quite literally longer than this match.

WINNER: UltraMantis Black

Kimberlee, leaving the Wrestle Factory, is once again confronted by Whisper, who's once again trying to blackmail her. She's had enough of it, and quits. Whisper doesn't seem too concerned, as he watches her go and plays with his yo-yo, which has a clock built into it. (Yep, we're not gonna find out what the heck he was blackmailing her with.)
