Btw I can't believe all the Hamilton edits with Hamilton the musical, especially to Wait for it but when they're done with Carlos
Like girl be fr if someone is his Burr that's not Carlos that's Nico fucking Rosberg, he owned that role
Carlos and Lewis have had beef for a month because Vasseur gave Lewis Carlos's job, you want bitter soul crushing rivalry that's been destroying another guy's life step by step, that's been booked by Britney since day one

Hamilton and Six are on the surface two very similar shows reimagining historical figures in a musical setting and telling the stories of people who the general public doesn't know much about. But while Hamilton is interested in just telling the completely real story of Alexander Hamilton and the people who surrounded him, Six wants to inform about these queens through a completely fabricated story, sprinkling in historical details about the real people behind the characters. Hamilton runs into problems due to its commitment to the "true story" leading to it misrepresenting real people, and suggesting that who the musical frames as an underdog in fact in history had a lot of power and control of his life. In contrast, Six is self aware about its own inaccuracies. By the end of the show it has even embraced it's differences from history, exploring how the queens might have gone on to be if they had not suffered and dealt with Henry. But while Hamilton wants to ignore the details of history that doesn't fit it's narrative, Six is asking the audience to just think about what could've possibly happened for a few minutes. In this essay I will-

here’s where i out myself as an old lady at heart. 🫣 i prefer old musicals and i haven’t seen very many musicals as a whole, either. usually i’ll just know a piece or two from the whole thing, though i’ve heard they’re quite good. (ex: be more chill, waitress, little shop of horrors, bridges of madison county, etc. 💀). i’ve seen all of these in full but still take this with a grain of salt. lmao.

3 minute promo video of Toad & Friends that shows off footage and voices of the main characters including 2 weasels named Tinker and Smuage (there is a 3rd one, Chief, but didn’t have a voice reveal like the others)

Yknow what going back and deleting that reblog if your first musical wasn’t Hamilton post cuz actually if Hamilton was the first musical you got into that’s fine. If Hamilton is the only musical you know that’s still fine. It was the biggest musical in the world for like 2 years it was fucking huge and the songs were good and it was so far from what the mainstream perception of a Broadway musical was at that time so of course it’s gonna be some peoples first exposure to Broadway and musical theater. And that’s absolutely fucking great. Fuck having some hipster superiority complex cuz you liked musicals before it was cool. If Hamilton was your first musical good for you, and I’m glad you’re here.

DAYUM my follower count SPIKED! thank you everyone who recently followed me, I appreciate it!
I've been gone for awhile, let's get this show back on the road
for today's hot take:
Hamilton's music isnt really that good tbh
PUT THE PITCHFORKS DOWN WAIT A MINUTE!
I'm not talking abt the play as a whole, just the music
and btw if you wanted to listen to every song from that play in order it'd take 2 hours which is way too many if u ask me
anyways, I've only listened to, like 3 songs? maybe 2? idk, either way, I didnt enjoy em much.
Stay Alive (not the reprise) goes hard tho lowkey
but for me the singing seems more like rhythmic talking. like listen to Stay Alive and go listen to a Billy Eyelash or a Taller Sift song and you'll see what I'm saying
it just feels more like talking to me, especially in Burn (also a fire song)
and to end off Stay Alive Reprise is straight ass fight me

Note
there is an inherent shame in still enjoying and singing songs from hamilton because despite everything,, they still live in my head
ITS SO GOOD, it's upsetting honestly, after everything it did to us it has no right to still be that good
