designer!suguru who gets tasked with showing you the ropes, who’s always so patient and kind despite your inexperience. diligent with his teaching but also so laidback, so easy to talk to… he looks intimidating, but he’s so polite that you can’t help but swoon a little. and he admires your enthusiasm so much…… grows fond of you soooo quickly bc you’re just such a breath of fresh air compared to the divas he’s forced to work with all the time. he thinks you’ve got real potential and he wants to nurture it.

and ofc you end up running into model!satoru eventually…. bc he’s always hanging around suguru whenever he gets the chance. and he’s maybe a little jealous that you’re hogging so much of his personal designer’s attention, but… he also thinks you’re so cute . sanji x usopp shippers i think youre so fucking valid and bigbrained but 1) i am a sucker for Usopps cute thing with Kaya and 2) i think acting gay platonically is mankind's greatest achievements.

i think Sanji being shoved totally out of his comfort zones both romantically and platonically (so he has to actually consider his honest feelings and not just keep imatating ideals) is great and his dumb ass deserves it.

I think Zoro being a bit of a fucking weirdo about expressing affection because he's always cared way more about learning how to swordfight flawlessly than learning how to operate by normal social conventions is fantastic.

How did she feel while she was tending to Trevor's mortal wound, knowing that it was Isaac's fault and he may have to die?

-oh, shuichi and rantaro’s dynamic is GREAT. shuichi pulls kaede aside to ask if she thinks an ultimate talent is “really something you can forget” and iirc rantaro says he thinks shuichi is the most suspicious person in his FTEs - they both clearly suspect the other of being the ringleader and it’s fantastic. especially since their shared fondness for kaede makes them interact more than they’d probably like.

-we meet again, manhole gonta cg, we meet again. you have not gotten any prettier.

-kokichi’s first instinct when faced with a big hollow place is to yodel, and honestly same. echos r fun okay!!

-rantaro gets so much snarkier upon rewatch - you realize how much of his dialogue is just taking the piss. him saying “oh, how considerate” when they find the exit sign still makes me giggle.

-kaito thinking kaede is the COOLEST WOMAN ON EARTH and kaede thinking he’s sooo lame is such an underrated dynamic. “gimme a hug!” “no 💖” lives in my head rent free.

-kokichi’s speech after the death road of despair is what made me sit up and take interest in him and in kaede as characters and it still holds up so good hpsuhag,,,,i don’t have a ton of bigbrain thoughts about it but please know i am thinking about high empathy/low compassion kokichi and low empathy/high compassion kaede every single day. autistic queens.

-kokichi literally just says they need to find another way out and rantaro’s immediately like “murder?? you want to do a murder, you little gremlin????” then tenko freaks out, kokichi tells her to chill, and she threatens to smash his head into the ground!? it seems to me that the writers had a set dynamic between kokichi and the rest of the group, but forgot that by this point in the story they haven’t written anything to justify it - even with rantaro’s paranoia and tenko’s anger issues, this is excessive. HILARIOUSLY, this makes the scene read as his fucking jonker origin story. tenko, you fool, you should’ve taken the bubblegum...! look what you’ve gotten us all into...!

-the dorm rooms are INSANELY swanky. i’d want to live there, if not for the...everything else......

-them having tons of copies of the same outfit is so funny. tsumugi put her heart and soul into those costumes and you WILL wear them.

-that’s the end of day one! i’ll be keeping track of them, just so you all can understand how RIDICULOUS v3′s timeline is.

-i once saw someone point out that there was zero reason for maki not to take the first blood perk, and now that HAUNTS me. she would only be responsible for one death since there’s no class trial, and we know that ever after five chapters of ✨bonding✨ she’s still willing to murder all her “friends” in a petty revenge plot, and she’s supposed to be willing to do ANYTHING to keep her orphanage from going under. completely irrelevantly, did you know maki being an assassin was actually added later in development than kaede being the first killer?

-despite him definitely knowing that monokuma isn’t really dead, kokichi insists wholeheartedly that the killing game is “cancelled” - it’s one of his more obvious ploys imo. even if it can only delay deaths for a day or so, he’s willing to throw all his acting chops behind it.

-you know that meme that goes “god made me mentally ill to nerf me”? that’s shuichi. he’s a side character that becomes the protagonist. he has a plan to catch the mastermind in CHAPTER ONE. he is breaking the danganronpa formula so bad. tsumugi had to pump him full of depression or else he would have crushed her show like a nut on day one. the detective. he destroyed his narrative. yes. YES. the detective is out.

-KAEDE TOLD MIU TO SHUT THE HELL UP...u know it’s serious when u get *kaede* to curse omg

-”hey,do you think this door is connected to monokuma somehow?” “i think it might.” and here we get our first reminder that v3 was translated by character, not by scene. the translators mostly stuck to their individual character’s dialogue without much communication, and it leaves lots of little blips like this.

-and so day two ends!

-the way they just...take the wind right out of monokuma’s sails is so funny. he’s so excited for this yokai gimmick!! and then miu tells him to get hit by a second car, tsumugi complains that his outfit is bad, and korekiyo starts explaining the difference between ghosts and yokai in excruciating detail. monokuma’s one weakness: pretentious teenage nerds...!

-the additional time-limit motive doesn’t make sense to me when it’s been ONE DAY since he introduced the first one!? it feels like a last resort, something to be used after they refused to take the bait. fits much better with a more stretched-out timeline, where they were in the school for a month or so with no murder before monokuma snapped and told them to kill or else.

-rantaro questions if he can even trust himself because of his missing memories. of course WE know he’s not gonna get hajime’d, but it’s a reasonable fear!

-”that’s why i didn’t want to talk about this in front of everyone...if we told them now, they might all try to find the mastermind, and be led to murder. that’s why...i could only tell you, kaede.” oh, shuichi......(┬┬﹏┬┬) kaede just goes dead silent after this too, before changing the subject. she doesn’t have a murder plan yet - she can’t have one, not before they’ve gone to the warehouse - but she’s certainly Considering Options.

I think a lot of writers need to understand that, when writing a mentally ill character, the “mentally ill” part shouldn’t be tacked on as an explanation of their morally unsound actions but as an explanation of their behavior in general. In a respectful way that is.

Yes, I’m saying this because I’ve gotten back into Gotham Rogues, a fandom in which basically all of the characters are both mentally ill AND literal supervillains. And I get the feeling a lot of both the writers and the fan base for the Gotham Rogues must think either that mental illness alone is directly or indirectly affecting a lot of their actions regardless of context AT BEST, or that being neurodivergent makes you evil AT WORST. Fortunately this is more of a problem in the canon, but the fandom sometimes irks me a lot in this respect. Like. DC comics IS ableist. You can, amazing but true, write mentally ill villains as long as you don’t make the mental illness be the responsible and even then the mentally ill bad guy trope is so pervasive, sometimes it’s better to let go. It’s not a coincidence a lot of the gimmick-y one-shot villains don’t get much personality besides “oh they’re unhealthily obsessed with [insert inane shit here]”. GRANTED these villains were created in the 40s, and, true, erasing disabilities is wrong, but seriously, if the only way you can fathom writing an ND villain is by deliberately doing so that THE bad thing is them being “””””crazy””””” or “”””””weird”””””” and not the fact that they’ve turned to violent crime for one reason or another... then for the love of god erase their disability you’ll literally won’t fuck it up that way?????

The worst part is, BATMAN, THE HERO, IS NEURODIVERGENT TOO, LITERALLY HE HAS CANON PTSD AND DEPRESSION AND BELIEVES HES A BAT IN SOME MEDIA BUT APPARENTLY ITS ONLY BAD TO BE SAD AND WEIRD AS FUCK WHEN YOURE DOING CRIMES BECAUSE OF WHATEVER OR HAVE “UGLY” SYMPTOMS! So, this is not a case of DC deciding only the bad guys are mentally ill, or the only ND rep being bad. It is a case of them deciding Bruce Wayne reacting to his childhood trauma by pretending to be a vampire and disassociating and having flashbacks and being triggered is tragic, but Harvey Dent reacting to his childhood trauma by splitting is Extremely Fucked Up And Definitely The One Thing That Makes Him Kill People Totally in true evil alter trope fashion like. Ironically half of the time.

The same goes for pretty much every villain but The Riddler, the Mad Hatter, and Two-face are the most obvious examples I can think of rn because they’ve actually got like, a diagnosis (WHEN DC BOTHERS TO GIVE THEM ONE THAT IS LMAO) instead of a throwaway “oh they’re insane and WEiRd lmao imagine caring so much about [insert inane shit here] 🤪” . Because DC kinda likes to parade this fact around for angst points all like “SERIAL KILLER HAS OCD THATS WHY HE LEAVES EVIDENCE!!!!!” or “INCEL THINKS HES FICTIONAL CHARACTER ISNT THAT FUCKED UP AND SHOCKING?”. Probably not realizing saying what amounts to “HEY! THIS BAD GUY HAS A DEBILITATING MENTAL ILLNESS WHICH CONDITIONS A LOT OF THEIR CRIMES” is not the amazing bigbrained plot point they think it is.

TLDR: DC And part of its fanbase have an ableism problem in which mentally ill heroes get closure and a shred of respect but mentally ill villains, even when the writer doesn’t entirely blame their evil in their illness, get to be ogled at in a very voyeuristic fashion instead, as if the shocking part of their mentality was the one thing they have no control over. “Cointidentially”, and by that I mean It’s deliberate, villains, unlike heroes, usually show their illness in socially “unacceptable” ways- while Batman’s own self-destructive behavior, that would be treated as incoherent and ShOCKing if he were evil, is seen as sad.

okay so . this is just me spitballing …. but …… what if. omori!shoko… kel!haibara……. basil!gojo….. aubrey!nanami and hero!sugu🤔🤔🤔 what do we think anon. honestly i just got kind of attached to shoko being omori but i could see sugu taking that role too !! still, he reminds me a lot of hero :(( the guilt he feels…. all that leftover love for mari that he tries to turn into something good by becoming a doctor…..,,,, the way he returns to keep the group stable. it just makes sense to me!! i feel like he would bear the most guilt over reader’s death, blaming himself for not noticing anything… :(( he absolutely hasn’t moved past it but he’s trying so hard to keep himself intact.

and honestly nanami and haibara are kinda self-explanatory… haibara is Literally kel and emo nana reminds me a lot of aubrey !! i could see him being so attached to reader as a child and just being so angry over it all yk???? lashing out at everyone. he loved them so dearly and saw them as an older sibling and he can’t stand the idea of moving on from any of it.

and ohhhhh basil!gojo…….. he’s so. so so so guilty. so terrified of everyone leaving him. this is one i’m a lil unsure abt but i can still see it yk??? him and shoko bearing all this silent guilt, keeping it from suguru…… gojo being so attached to you but choosing to bear the guilt along with shoko… because he’s The Strongest and he couldn’t let her bear that kind of sin alone . DO WE SEE THE VISION……….,

ok but alternatively….., sugu is omori and shoko is hero 👀👀👀👀 sugu who shuts himself away from the guilt …… represses it ………. gojo who bears the sin of reader’s death along with him. because they’re best friends who share everything. and shoko being the glue that keeps them together in a way… that shows up when things get ugly…. hero being a doctor is also so fitting. and her silent suffering over reader’s death that she doesn’t let anyone see……,.,,,, shoko/reader canon idc

and then obv the final confrontation between sugu and gojo……, sugu and himself…….. ”you loved her and you killed her.” I FEEL ILLLLLL tbh this version feels so much more fitting 😭😭😭 omori!shoko still has a special place in my heart tho. but just imagine the final battle between sugu and gojo… letting go of their guilt when they see each other in the hospital ….., sighhhhh. this au makes me so emotional T_T
