This is not my ghost and I am not offering to do any development work for him. But on several occasions, folks have entered our Discord server looking for help with a bug in one of MVSans's phone events that completely prevents progression. So, I decided to make a little patch for him to make this easier.
This is what the intro to the bugged event looks like:
If you've seen this text and clicking the "Click to continue" option does not work, then this patch will fix it for you.
Download the patch here
To install the patch, follow these steps:
Download the file above, it should be called mv_sans_phone_fix.nar.
Open MVSans.
Check in his settings to ensure that you're on the latest version. This patch was made for v1.4.2 Stable, and may cause other versions to break. (If you're not on the latest version, update or download a new copy of the latest version.)
While MVSans is running, drag and drop the mv_sans_phone_fix.nar onto him. He should appear to be installing something.
When he is done installing, he should appear to reload. He will not say anything about completing the installation, that's normal. The ghost is now patched. (If he does say something, it's likely an error. If so, please report it to me and I can try to help.)
If you had already seen the intro to this bugged event, then please close and reopen the ghost. This should bring up the intro again, and you should be able to proceed.
If you have any problems with this supplement file, please do tell me about it! But it's a pretty small fix, so as long as you use it with the correct version of the ghost, it should be fine.
If you have any other problems with this ghost, you can send an ask to the @ukagakadreamteam blog, or ask in our Discord server. There is also a page for him on our wiki which has some general information about him.
My knowledge of this ghost is very limited, as I haven't used this version very much. So, other people who have used it may be able to help you more.
Umm... so i have the android ukagaka app, and only got Geno, and can't find anywhere to dounload the other shells. Could you help please?
Unfortunately I don’t have an android device to test ghosts with the ukagaka app. The app is kind of a WIP and doesn’t support additional shells or alternate balloons as far as I’m aware.
If anyone else who has had experience using the android app wants to pipe up, please do so!
Out of curiosity, will you ever give an update where you are able to give the Sans's a bottle of ketchup? Like when you can give something to Gaster as a treat, but with ketchup or a burger to Sans? It would be cute to see his reaction and might build up your relationship somehow? or if you are on the rude scale, give him hotsauce with a ketchup sticker in front of the label? lol. Just thought it would be cute. also on a unrelated note, my UF sans (not the MV sans) says 404 error when I update:/
(I’m assuming this is referring to MVSans, since UF!Sans is “unrelated.”)
It does sound cute! Currently I do not have any plans to add items to give him (like with Gaster), since everything I add needs to tie into other features, particularly User Traits. Adding one gift item means I have to add at least three more to maintain balance which is unfeasible to add on a whim.
Still, I appreciate the suggestion! Even if I can’t use that specific idea, it may inspire a way incorporate condiments into an upcoming feature. Check my dev plan to see what I got in the works and relative ETA on future features!
On the topic of items: there will be more trait-based accessory unlockables, (two each, total of 8). Currently available the Cat Ear Band is a tier 1 Sweet accessory!
Those who’ve yet to unlock: If Sweet is your dominant or secondary trait you can call Papyrus until he says something about Sans being a cat. Next bootup he’ll have the ears.
You can check traits under User Settings menu. For a detailed rundown check User Report under System Settings.
Snas modeling some WIP trait-based item unlocks
Regarding UF!Sans 404 errors, you’ll need to talk to @changeside about that since they made him!
On a side note, in the future please send suggestions/questions to the individual ghost developers. Check the member directory here if you’re unsure!
I didn’t realize this wasn’t on my personal blog @excellynt until after posting haha.
@excellynt posted an unofficial announcement that MV Sans was getting NEKO NEKO INTENSE and my brain flipped and I had to draw w e e b s k e l e
also it’s Horror!sans because THAT’S WHO HAPPENED TO BE ON MY DESKTOP AT THE TIME
also i thought it would look fucking goofy with a horror skele as a KITTY
I’ve been working with devs in @ukagakadreamteam to make sure my methodology for new AU shell support in the Revamped format makes sense to other people. My Revamped Shell Management System is new territory in ghost development, so we learn a lot when we help each other.
@changeside is one of those developers, and since they just started a Patreon of their very own, we’re excited to kick it off with a special launch bonus!!
It’s a new MVSans shell in the Revamped format with a unique style, similar to their own UF!Sans ghost.
look at these bois pls pet the skele
He’s gorgeous and I’m really impressed how well he turned out despite the technical limitations inherent to the Revamped shell format. In order to stay streamlined, the shells must use identical Seriko code so it’s feasible to manage dozens of shells in one ghost. It allows a lot of flexibility overall but there are limitations the artist has to work in.
Note: This is not a shell distributable by me.
The shell is only available to patrons pledging $5 or more per month to Changeside on their shiny new Patreon. Since it’s part of their launch campaign it will not be available after September 30th, 2019.
I’m already a $5 patron cuz I’m a big fan of their work! And @changeside does more than just ghost development! They’re a really talented individual so you should check ‘em out! :D
So if you still haven’t downloaded him, make sure to download their UF!Sans ghost. If you like what you see please consider becoming their patron, or at least donating via Ko-Fi! If you become a patron by the end of the month, you too shall receive this bonus AU shell!
Petting is more miss than hit those days. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, but it doesn't work he way it used to. There's a label telling what areas can be interacted with and the stat it will raise, but I can't pet most of the time. Did something change?
Yes! His hit boxes changed size to make it easier on artists who have very different art styles from the regular MVSans shell. The old hit boxes were huge and forced an enormous head shape to match the hit box, which made things difficult for the @ukagakadreamteam artists testing shell-making for me.
Smaller hit box areas grant artists more stylistic freedom in Sans’ body proportions! The goal is to derive a universal shell code file that works across all shells, so any future adjustments are easy to handle. And the unique style shells are looking gorgeous!
When I put the Dev build v1.4.22 up last weekend I spent a good 6 hours Friday (and a bit Saturday) fighting MD5 hash errors to get the update at least partially downloadable. I had to go file-by-file, loading backups for each of the shells, redoing lines of code in the descript.txt and surfaces.txt.. Once I got 3 of the 6 [Legacy] shells downloads to stop errorring I stopped messing with it.
At that point I called it “good enough” since the shells code may be subject to change again anyway. The important part of the update, the core ghost code (particularly Dynamic AU shell recognition) update, is downloadable, and that’s enough for now.
So yeah, that’s how dev builds go sometimes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I’ll work it out by next update, but I’m taking a break from ghost dev this week so it may be a while before it’s fully addressed.
Let me know If you guys don’t like the new hit box sizes, I’ll adjust as needed. Until the Revamped shells are publicly released I’m gonna be tinkering with shell code anyway, so I’ll consider any feedback you send!

The release of the MVSans Revamped shells is finally upon us!
For almost a year now I’ve been working on a complete revamp of the AU Shells from their original 10-images file, to a complete overhaul allowing much more flexibility and streamlining the process of adding more AU shells, so anyone can create and submit an AU shell for people to use, without me getting overwhelmed in the process!
Public release of the Revamped shells won’t be until I finish all original 6, but Patreon and Ko-Fi supporters will be able to download the shells as I finish them. Bugtesters in the UDT community can download the Underfell Revamped early as well, but the other shells early release will remain locked to supporters only.
Underfell Revamped will have limited release Friday, January 19th.
Until August 20, anyone who donates to Change’s Ko-Fi will be able to early download the MVSans Underfell Revamped shell, as if they had donated to me!
Please consider donating to Change’s Ko-Fi to help support their Underfell Sans ghost! He’s really cool and @changeside put a lot of work into him. There are a ton of cool features, particularly on the technical side and I’m probably gonna swipe some of their code for MVSans!! Just include “MVSans” as part of your comment when you send the donation and Change will know what to do. :)

Hoo boy it’s been a few months since the last dev build! I’ve been hard at work getting the shell Revamps ready and devising a system for dynamic AU shell recognition, instead of each shell name being hardcoded into the system.
My plans for that are pretty lofty, as I’d like to make it so people can add custom AU content to their shell without touching the code, freeing up the ability for anyone to add any AU shell they want, and have his behavior match the AU appearance he takes on, without overwhelming me in the process!
This is a pretty lofty task and implementation is pretty tricky since it’s something I didn’t anticipate, and have only had since July to devise efficient methods handling this, unlike most of the systems I’ve had years to ruminate on.
So, in the interest of being able to release the updated originals and Revamped shells sooner rather than later, I’ve scaled back my goals significantly from the ideal and am opting to simplify AU/shell support, for the time being.
MVSans v1.4.22 dev coming this weekend!
Includes:
[Legacy] shells cleaned up; renames and adjustments!
Dynamic AU Shell recognition; he recognizes the AU by keywords in the title, rather than specific shell titles!
Plus some other tweaks. More details will come with the release post on Friday.
probably.
MVSans Dev Build v1.4.21 is available for download.
It includes a beta version of the Affirmations generator (pictured above), which is one part of the suicide prevention aspect of the upcoming Self-Care system. The Crisis contact list is very, very much a draft, so sorry about that, but I wanted to get a build with the Affirmations generator released to help a dissociating friend on Sunday night.
It will semi-randomly generate statements of affirmation like above. It’s not perfect, I’m still refining it. But it helped them. So it’s functional.
There’s also a new Grieving advice topic. I’ve used it a lot.
This is a dev build, so you’ll need to opt-in to download through the System Functions menu (click on the wrench&hammer icon), click Dev Update.
If you don’t already have MVSans, download him here!
