wholeheartedly and with as much gentleness as possible, i truly think there needs to be more discussion about downpour in the community as it is now. for a variety of reasons.

An Introduction to Myself and My WIP!

Hello everyone! A confession, this is actually a re-introduction. I've been here on Tumblr for a little less than a year now, but I haven't been the best about being active, life just sort of got in the way. As such I would like to reintroduce myself and what I've been working on.

For the purposes of Tumblr and in the interest of privacy you can call me C. I am in my mid-twenties, I use he/him pronouns, and I am happily married to my partner, who is also a C. I am queer, as is my partner. I enjoy cooking, fishing, Dnd(ing?), reading, and of course writing.

We both originally come from the US but we are currently living on the east coast of Scotland as I pursue my Msc in Archaeology.

I am trying to be a bit more active on here and I am always open to things like tags and asks, even if it takes me a bit to respond.

I think that's about it for me, and so without further ado let me introduce or reintroduce you to my WIP.

Testaments of the Green Sea

Genre: Epic Fantasy

Themes and Tropes (Or more accurately a random assortment of words vaguely related to the plot): Found Family, immortality, loss, love, war, power, memory, magic, insanity, The passage of time, growing up, queerness in the ancient world, violence, spirits, fantasy outside of medieval europe

Summary: Book one of the Testaments of the Green Sea (The lands of the Green Sea are pictured above) follows the journeys of the giant slave Narul and the princess Ninma. After unexpected tragedy forces the two to flee from the Great city of Labisa, they find themselves on a journey which carries them across the ancient lands of Kishetal. Along the way they encounter spirits, demons, war, gods, pirates, and slavers. TW for death/grief, violence/blood/gore, mental illness, physical illness, abuse, and cannibalism, awkward queerness, secondhand embarrasment etc, etc.

Excerpt( First Paragraph of Chapter 1): The blood dripped into the awaiting bowl, painting its alabaster walls crimson. The slave watched the dark liquid trickle down his arm, skirting past the hairs, rolling veins, and moles. Even after these twenty years of weekly blood lettings, he could not shake a creeping feeling of unease as his eyes followed the sanguine river creeping its way across his arm. His own face gazed back at him from the scarlet pool. He could not meet his own eye, could not stand to look that creature. He turned away.

Draft Status: The second draft of the manuscript is currently being edited, I will be looking for my first round of Beta Readers likely before the end of the year.

This is just part one of a much larger series. My partner is currently working on the beginnings of their own series, set in the same world but 3,000 years in the future, roughly aligning with our own Great War Period. I'm so excited to share more with you, and I love answering questions!

our 3d printer had a brief trip to hell, first spending a month waiting for replacement parts and then the better part of another refusing to produce much anything other than blobs, lines, and spaghetti. my partner finally wrangled it into submission, and we are back in business!

not much to post yet; we also moved house during the printer downtime, and haven't figured out a good photography setup. but i got excited when i noticed this prototype could stand on one foot pretty effortlessly, so here's a peek & a status update. i don't usually do bodies that are this.. unadorned, but i felt a calling to make just a simple orc girl without a thousand things going on in the sculpt. i love orcs, trolls, and other fantasy races that tend to get the short end of the stick and be relegated to mindless enemies without nuance [INJUSTICE], and want to make a fuckload of dolls representing them.

faceup is not fully finished, but i had to see what she would look like with eyes. i love the texture msc gives to even the most basic PLA; it's almost as easy to blush with pastels as resin or vinyl would be.

Well I had this spare Slo Moe head leftover from a custom doll and it's just sat in my parts for ages but I figure that I had the skills to make him more my taste. I have been really getting into Mr Hobby spray paints as they make MSC and the formula seems vinyl safe. And I used this gray spray paint to colour change the BTS body and his head both the same shade of gray. For Slo Mo's face, while I liked the funny Grecian statue esque look he has, my heart belongs to the cartoon so I really wanted him to look more like his cartoon self. For his to be different shapes, one eye was painted within the sculpted area while the other was painted outside of the sculpt. I did end up giving him irises but I followed the design choices Gil Webber's doll had where nothing was really outlined. All in all I am happy how these disparate pieces have come together to make a cohesive doll.

FUN FACTS.

as evidenced by the timeline section, nadia has moved around A Lot and has lived relatively little time in england. this was motivated by constantine's desire for nadia to learn the tricks of the money laundering trade as soon as she displayed an affinity for it. europe's best were spread across the continent and given that there might be some cultural nuances to the trade, it only made sense she actually lived in the regions.

she is an international baccalaureate girlie through and through. all of her education prior to tertiary education was ib; primary years in portugal, middle years in romania, and diploma programme in wales. given the programme's international nature, it enabled nadia to form connections with useful individuals all over the world.

nadia is 190cm / 6'3" tall, making her the tallest liddell by far. the massive height difference, especially compared to her father, has led to some speculation that she's an illegitimate child, but the liddells have always ignored such talk. they know she's a liddell by blood, as much as she detests their relation, and nothing can change that

speaking of height, rarely will you catch nadia without a pair of christian louboutin's in her feet. she particularly favors the kate design — a classic pointy pump with a red sole and a 10cm stiletto heel. this makes her 2 meters / 6'7" tall and very intimidating in the eyes of others. she couldn't care less about the feelings of others, though, she'll gladly crush you under her heel and exploit your insecurity gleefully.

even though she's got a great memory and likely remembers your name, even after a brief encounter, she'll shamelessly pretend she doesn't remember it if she's deemed you too boring / inferior to her. furthermore, she has no issue using a dehumanizing nickname when speaking about you. an example of this is maksim, who nadia sometimes refers to as "expense number (insert number here)" due to what his rehab cost.

capable of physical violence and killing, as all liddell children are, but considers herself above such vulgarities. however, can and will absolutely calculate the most and least efficient ways to commit such acts based on numbers and statistics.

nadia owns two russian blue cats, named mariinsky and bolshoi. they're the closest thing to children she'll ever have, and all of her capacity for warmth and caring is reserved for them only.

Well. You missed a lot.

Okay so here’s the deal. So remember how I did a whole storyline based off the Pibby Corrupted mod on my main? The same thing with this, except now it’s based off the Funkdela Catalogue mod.

I’ll give you a short rundown. There is a species of alien shapeshifters known as Alternates, that can make people go insane and kill themselves by giving them a disorder known as M.A.D. And they want to kill all the humans, and transform into them, replacing them. Though they’re a bit different in motives, abilities, and weaknesses in the MSC universe.

An alternate, by the name of 8, found DB, and gave him M.A.D…. And nobody knows what his status is now, whether he’s dead or alive, but 8 is now trying to kill all the other characters on this blog. Monika and Mark fought and trapped them, but they were able to escape. Sunky called Monika, terrified, saying that he needs her help, and now she and Mark are going to go help him, while Adam is still hunting down 8.
