The Scenery of the Hospital Room is Everything
Obtainability: This memoria is limited to the Ranked Mirrors memoria gacha.
Single Effect: Attack Down [20%] & MP Gain Down [45%] (All Enemies / 1 Turn)
MLB Effect: Attack Down [25%] & MP Gain Down [50%] (All Enemies / 1 Turn)
Effect Definitions:
Attack Down is a Debuff that will decrease the target’s base attack.
MP Gain Down will decrease the target’s MP Gain when using discs, when they’re attacked, or when they activate a skill that gives them MP Restore.
TLDR: "The Scenery of the Hospital Room is Everything" is a very specialized memoria that is excellent for Ranked Mirrors, but only if you're in for a prolonged fight. If you don't care about Ranked then you should feel no pressure to roll for this memoria.
Review: Apologies ahead of time, this will be a long review.
This is yet another good Ranked memoria. It qualifies as a stat stick with its high def passive stats, it offers a decent amount of Attack Down, and it will decrease the amount of MP gained by the enemy's team-- all things you want when trying to protect your team and prevent enemy magia/doppels.
Before going further, we need to compare this memoria to other memos in the game to examine why this is so good for Ranked, especially as we'll see that some memoria are better than it in other areas.
First we should note that this isn't the highest Attack Down memoria in the game, nor does it come close to being so:
(Limited 4*) “Even Games Are Serious” Attack Down [65%] (One / 1 Turn) & Defense Up [52.5%] (Self / 1 Turn)
(Limited 4*) “The True Gift Was the Smile” Attack Down [65%] & Dazzle [100%] (One / 1 Turn)
(Limited 4*) “For This Fine Day” Attack Down [50%] & Damage Down [45%] (One / 1 Turn)
(4*) “The Way Home after the Rain (Mito)” Attack Down [50%] & Defense Down [45%] (All / 1 Turn)
(4*) “Hiding the Real Me” Attack Down [50%] (One / 1 Turn) & Skill Quicken [100%] (Self / 1 Turn)
(Limited 4*) “Ascending Cherry Blossom Front” Attack Down [35%] & Magia Seal [100%] (One / 1 turn)
(Limited 3*) “Light Attributed Characters” Attack Down [35%] & Dazzle [45%] (One / 1 turn)
(3*) “The Way Home after the Rain (Leila)” Attack Down [35%] & Darkness [100%] (One / 1 Turn)
(4*) “An Inhabitant from Another World” Attack Down [30%] & Charm [42.5%] (All / 1 turn)
(Limited 3*) “Keep Promises in the Heart” Attack Down [30%] & Defense Down [30%] (One / 1 Turn)
(Limited 3*) “A Place of Ease” Attack Down [30%] (All / 1 Turn)
(2*) “Busy After School” Attack Down [30%] (One / 1 Turn)
(Limited 4*) “The Scenery of the Hospital Room is Everything” Attack Down [25%] & MP Gain Down [50%] (All Enemies / 1 Turn)
(Limited 4*) “The End of an Ordinary Day” Attack Down [25%] & Magia Damage Down [50%] (All Enemies / 1 Turn)
(Limited 4*) “Lively Summer (Momoko/Mitama)” Attack Down [25%] & Magia Damage Down [30%] (All / 1 Turn)
(Limited 3*) “Floating in the Starry Sky” Attack Down [25%] (One / 1 Turn) & Defense Up [15%] (Self / 1 Turn)
(Limited 3*) “Changing into Swimsuits” Attack Down [25%] & Charm [35%] (All / 1 Turn)
(Limited 3*) “It Seems I Wasn't Good Enough” Attack Down [20%] & MP Gain Down [25%] (All / 1 Turn)
(2*) “Towards the End” Attack Down [20%] (Target / 3 Turns)
(Limited 3*) “Passing Dreams” Attack Down [10%] & Damage Down [10%] (One / 3 Turns)
There are many memoria that offer more Attack Down than this one does, including the ever-popular Mito Rain. However, what makes this memoria so good is that inclusion of MP Gain Down, where it tops the list:
(Limited 4*) “The Scenery of the Hospital Room is Everything” MP Gain Down [50%] & Attack Down [25%] (All Enemies / 1 Turn)
(4*) “What Flavor Is Break Time (Touka)” MP Gain Down [50%] (All / 1 Turn)
(Limited 4*) “Wishing for the Final Act” MP Gain Down [40%] (One / 3 turns)
(Limited 4*) “The Beginning Is Here” MP Gain Down [40%] (One / 3 turns)
(Limited 3*) “It Seems I Wasn't Good Enough” MP Gain Down [25%] & Attack Down [20%] (All / 1 Turn)
(3*) “The One Who Waits” MP Gain Down [25%] (All / 3 turns)
Notably, "What Flavor is Break Time (Touka)" (which we will just refer to now as "Touka Tea") has the same amount of MP Gain Down offered. Obviously, "The Scenery of the Hospital Room is Everything" is going to be better than "Touka Tea" given that it has the same exact effect at the same percentage with a higher passive DEF stat and an additional secondary buff with a lower cooldown to boot, but you should consider that "Touka Tea" is unlimited. That means, for most players, it's more probable that one will have it max-awakened, and a max-awakened "Touka Tea" will have better stats and effects than a single copy of "The Scenery of the Hospital Room is Everything". However, even a non max-awakened copy of "The Scenery of the Hospital Room is Everything" is still good, having 45% MP Gain Down.
Put together, owe have a memoria that is a decent way of making the enemy team deal less damage for one turn and gain less mp. There are other memoria in the game that offer way more Attack Down, including the very accessible "Mito Rain" and the newly released "I'll Have You Cooperate," but the amount of Attack Down offered by "The Scenery of the Hospital Room is Everything" isn't necessarily bad. What really stands out is its amount of MP Gain Down, sharing the top spot with the unlimited "Touka Tea" but with the addition of its Attack Down and a shorter cooldown.
With that, we can see that the true draw of this memoria is its MP Gain Down, not the Attack Down. The Attack Down is an excellent bonus, but that MP Gain Down is what really makes it shine.
This makes it an excellent memoria for content like the Hundred Evils, where you'll want to prevent enemies from gaining Magia. It also makes it perfect for Ranked Mirrors.
Note that for Ranked Mirrors, you need this memoria to be max-awakened and max-leveled. You need that short cooldown for it to work properly and you're going to want those stats as high as possible so that it can work as a stat stick.
Stat Sticks are Active memoria that beef up a character’s passive DEF through its stats, not its effects. These kind of memoria are helpful in Mirrors, where some Actives serve little more than, well, “stat sticks.” This blog considers anything about 2200 DEF a Stat Stick. Note that the memoria needs to be Max Awakened to qualify as a Stat Stick.
A cooldown at five turns means that the memoria will be usable at the start of round three in mirrors (or even less than that if used on a character with Skill Quicken in their Spirit Enhancement). In prolonged fights, that means you can continue to debuff the enemy's mp gain along with debuffing their attack power.
This is especially notable as many units with debuffs on their active Spirit Enhancement will only last between 1 - 3 turns. This includes characters such as Darkness Mitama, Mitsuru Inami, Akuma Homura-chan, and Amaryllis; all who see popular play in Ranked. You don't want their debuffs on the enemy team to run out with nothing to back them up afterwards if you're in for a prolonged fight. You need to be able to follow up with something that will keep your characters safe.
Of course that doesn't mean you can't also use this memoria before round 3-- you can, especially in emergencies. But it's excellent to have on hand for when your potential debuffs run out.
Of course, as you're reading this memoria review you can also probably see how this memoria is tightly made for one area of the game in particular. Meaning: if you are not using a very specific strategy for a very specific part of the game (Ranked Mirrors) then this memoria is not necessary to acquire. Using "The Scenery of the Hospital Room is Everything" assumes that you:
Care About Ranked Mirrors
Are using a gameplay strategy that will extend how many rounds you fight
Have the slots necessary to consider even getting this memoria
Are whale enough to care about having the best possible memoria on your team
Are whale enough to max-awaken this extremely niche memoria so it's actually usable.
If none of that applies to you... then there's no point to grabbing this memo.
There are better Attack Down (and Damage Down) memoria you can acquire, and "Touka Tea" will work just fine if you need MP Gain Down in PVE content such as Hundred Evils.
Overall, this is a very good but very specific memoria. Unless you are a hyper-whale who is aiming for S3 with Ranked Mirrors and you can guarantee max-awakening "The Scenery of the Hospital Room is Everything," you shouldn't feel the urge to roll for it.

It is time to step up the defense of transgender people in Britain
Tumblr media
What The Trans has published an urgent call for action in a thread over at twitter. We are taking the liberty of republishing it here so that it can reach as many as possible.
Here’s the thread:
//A lot has been written and said about the nightmarish situations facing trans people in the United States. The UK situation has become almost as terrifying. Here is a thread breaking it down Please read, please share. Many aren't aware of this.  Change that!
The government seems to be removing protections for trans people
Just under a year ago Rishi Sunak promised to review the equality act in regards to trans people. He was vague, but over the last few months the direction of travel appears to be removing protections for trans people from the equality act.
What this means in practice is defining sex purely as 'biological' with the goal of allowing service providers the option to lawfully bar trans people from single sex spaces.
How would that play out? It would mean that a trans woman could be barred from using the women's toilet if she is out with her friends at a bowling alley it means a trans man could be barred from using the men's toilet at the pub.
Many trans people already struggle to access these spaces. Either they use the one's that align with who they are, and risk being clocked as trans and shouted at...or they go to the wrong ones and get told they are in the wrong one and get clocked as trans.
If you need to understand more how this would effect someones life, ask yourself... ...have you ever worked at a place, not from home, and not used your workplaces toilets at all during the day? Could you do that?
The UK government is considering gutting the equality act to allow places to essentially make it potentially impossible for trans people to leave their homes for longer than their bladders can hold out. That is the reality.
Forced outing of trans kids
2. Education guidance is incoming (and it doesn't sound good) For months the department of education has been promising to issue guidance on how schools deal with trans pupils.
The government are currently briefing the press the following: That schools will be forced to tell parents if their child has come out as transgender That trans students will be forced to participate in sports activitys of the wrong gender.
If you don't understand why the first would be bad, a report by @JustLikeUsUK revealed that almost half of young LGBT adults are estranged from their families. AKT has reported that 77% of LGBT young people said their homelessness was caused by family rejection and familial abuse.
If a child was to reveal to their teacher that they are trans, the government is briefing the press right now that they want to force teachers to out the kid to their parents. Looking at the situation now, it is clear how dangerous this could be to the child.
When it comes to sports, this policy risks excluding and marginalising students who already face significant levels of bullying and ostracisation from their peers. This proposed guidance risks making trans lives so much harder for our youngest.
Biggest rollback of rights ever
The UK's transgender community is facing the biggest rollback of their fundamental human rights, ever. For centuries we didn't have any rights at all. Since the 1970's the trans community has won many battles to get to this point of protections that aren't exactly perfect.
The government are contemplating making our lives unliveable outside of our homes, and potentially unlivable inside our homes if we happen to be children.
This is monstrous and the result of 7 years of anti-trans moral panic by the media giving the impression that there is something for politicians to gain from being absolutely horrific to the UK trans community. You must show them otherwise.
You must write to your MP, email them, call them, go see them, do all of these repeatedly. Form queues outside their constituency offices, fill up their mail bags, crash their email servers with the sheer number of messages, showing that these policies will cost them.
You must organise and attend protests. Radical, disruptive, marches, static, as many as possible, as frequently as possible with as many people as you can gather. Make them loud. Make them constant. Be as annoying as possible.
You must show up whenever political leaders show up in your area for campaigning or anything else.  Ask them difficult questions, shame them, make it very uncomfortable and tell them what this is and how it would hurt trans people.
This is a red alert for the trans community in the UK. This is a fight we cannot lose.//
Women’s Institute express strong support for trans people
Let us add an example of what can be done:
The Women’s Institute will continue to “celebrate” the lives of the transgender women enriching its membership, the head of the organisation said on Tuesday, following reports that it was facing a bid to overturn inclusive policy.
Good!

Could you write Chubby!Levi x Fem!reader ? I mean imagine him with curves like his face is filled out , his cheeks are chubbier , his waist is getting plumped without forgetting his cute rounded tummy (fluff)
Okay, but could you imagine him gaining happy weight?
Like he's always been small, especially as a kid, but post-war when he's able to relax a little bit and settle down? Here is what I have in mind.
You two met briefly while he was still active military. It was a long time ago, there wasn't much exchange. He was there to ask you a couple of questions about some MPs that were causing trouble.
Usually, it wouldn't be his job to take on such a mundane task but the trouble the MPs were imposing did affect the scouts and pixis felt Levi needed a day to do something less blood-soaked after their last failed mission.
You were a bakery owner. Rationing had hit everyone hard but especially people who made their living in food. you made what little you could throughout the day and some newer mp recruits had taken to believing you owed them for their service. This resulted in a large portion of your scarce inventory being forcefully taken per day.
After getting the information Levi needed from you, including the time they usually show up he came back meeting the perpetrators at your counter. He almost didn’t have to do anything. Seeing him was enough for them to know they fucked up, but the unease in your eyes pulled a string in Levi’s chest.
He put a stop to their egos with significantly less force than he felt it warranted, but breaking your bakery furniture wouldn't help you and that’s technically what he was trying to do.
In return, you gave him a scone. It wasn't anything like you made before, but it was all you could reasonably give. He took it hesitantly seeing your pastry case already getting low for the day but with a little insistence, he took it.
All day long he thought about it sitting in his horse saddle bag, but wanted to eat it properly with tea so he waited. By the time he got to it, it was squished and crumbly but still, he made his tea, sat down at his desk, and took the first bite.
That was it. That scone was on his mind for years and in connection, you.
.
Post-war he'd been given a little flat in town. It was so noisy and the years he'd spent jumping from building to building made walking the streets without threat feel somehow more dangerous. but he found peace in a little bakery in the studio below him.
He didn't pick the apartment but whoever did really couldn’t have picked better for him.
Now your business was booming with customers constantly asking for big doughy cheese croissants and sweet jam-filled Danishes, but somehow you always found time to have a cup of tea and a scone at the corner table ready for him a few minutes before close.
One scone often turned into two and leftovers were always for him to take if he wanted. Of course, he only ever accepted if you split it with him over a cup of tea.
Sometimes this was in silence, other times gentle conversation about the city's revival. Both were saturated in the comfortability of one another's company and often even after the food was gone you'd just sit there basking in the post-food glow.
He hadn't noticed the change in him. He did notice the comfortability he found in his bones now. he wasn't as agile as he was and the felt good. It meant he had enough peace in him to not need to upkeep that harsh regime anymore. Don't get me wrong he was strong and still retained a solid portion of his muscle, but now it came with more bulk.
The first time he'd noticed it was when Hange came to visit. They decided to meet at your bakery rather than his place and when Hange saw him, they were in awe.
"look at you!" they say, pinching his cheeks and his filled-out hips. "I could barely get you to eat anything at camp, who is feeding you so well-"
The question cuts itself short by the smell of fresh cream cheese and toasted bagels. "On me," you say, setting one in front of either of them.
Hange looks down at the bagel and then at Levi, who was staring at you as you walk back behind the counter.
Hange watches his eyes with a sense of softness. They haven't seen him with a look of peace like that in years. Maybe ever.
His cheeks were full and his eyes light. For Hange it was the true sign that they could maybe start letting go. Like it was possible for them to build a life after death and grief as he had.
They keep the sentiment to themselves as they take the first bite of the bagel. Hange’s eyes light up. "Oh that's good," they say, "that's it, I'm moving in with you."
Bonus headcanon
I was thinking of getting a civilian job, “he says, washing down the flaky pastry with a mouthful of tea. “I don’t think sitting as I have been is doing me any good.”
“what did you have in mind?’ You ask.
It was the question he hoped you wouldn’t ask but of, course was the most logical. He hadn’t actually found anything that he wanted to do yet. The job idea up to this post was just a brewing thought. “I don’t know yet.”
You hum a thought into your cup. “You know ,”you start, “I don’t actually have tea on my menu.”
He looks down at his cup the up at the chalkboard menu behind the pastry case. Sure enough no drinks were present at all.
“Though,” you continue, “I have been thinking of expanding to it. Though truthfully I don’t know much about tea.”
The warm drinks you’d made him were always fine but he did notice that you never strayed from making the same two over and over again.
“If you wanted, you could always help here, I can give you the contacts the vendors showing interest and you could tea test for me. I was going to ask you to go to the tasting with me anyways, but this way you could actually get paid and have a real say in the direction-”
“yes,” he says, “I’ll do it.”
A smile tugs at your lips. “Perfect.”
Hey if you like this content I have more on my Master List

Hi Muffin! Do you have any team suggestions for the upcoming ranked mirrors?
Heya!
Hmmm
It's kind of hard to give suggestions when I don't know what you have. I think it's very safe to say that even with the dark damage nerf, you're going to see an endless sea of akuma homuras out there.
I think the average upper-tier defense team is going to look something horrible like:
Devil Homura
Magia-on-turn-1-damage dealer
Darkness Mitama
Tank (?) (depending on how many debuffers they have, they may not need a dedicated tank)
random-- could be Mitsuru Inami, Akuma Homura-chan, or MadoIro (debuff protection)
Last time the offense team that I saw whales fielding was stuff like three-man teams of Anime Yachiyo, Dark Kanagi, and Kimochi Rabi. They may swap out Dark Kanagi with a different blaster but I'm otherwise unsure.
Another troublesome thing would be that previous Devil Homura counter may not work as well here-- Touka & Nemu (Holy Night ver.) have an se active that takes away both granted effects and buffs, making Devil Homura's instant doppel schemes a failure. However the next ranked is auto, so you won't be able to choose where your tounemu targets (assuming that one even has them).
If you don't have a good all-blast team (and by that I mean three characters with four blast discs each) then I'd try for a magia one. A ton of recently released units came with fast mana up, aka they earn mp by round 2. These include:
Devil Homura
Doppel Kyoko
Gunhild
Anime Mami
Fairytale Yachiyo
Toyo
Yuna & Juri (Vampire ver.)
Swimsuit Kuroe
If you have any of these guys at two slots, I'd choose them and then load them up with as much mp gain up passive memoria as you can. Unfortunately they're all limited and I can't think of anyone who is unlimited (or even an easily accessible welfare/2*/3*) so if you don't have one of these, you're a bit out of luck.
Some units like Amaryllis will earn MP very very quickly depending on how many hits they take/if they use a single accele disc, what kind of memoria you're using, and you can try building a team around them if you want to.
if you have Devil Homura, I think it's still worth trying to get her to work/using her. When max slotted she'll give the entire team 6mp per round, which can push a ton of characters (like the above mentioned in the bullet format) to 100mp regardless of whether or not they've used an accele disc, provided you have the right memoria on them.
Heruka also is stupidly good here for magia teams if you have her. Her active gives the entire team mp gain up (10%) for three turns-- I've found that this is also enough to push properly equipped fast mp units into magia range.
Basically my advice boils down to the horrible advice of: be a whale. I'm sorry!!!

I do see your point about Harry being as successful as he is thanks to the team behind him but I think he does have some say. Harry Lambert has said many many times (because Harries accuse him of forcing him to dress a certain way) that he picks clothes and designers based on Harry's taste. That he makes mere suggestions and isn't pushy about it. Harry just says yes or no, and he has said no about stuff (Harry L said that). Ignoring Gucci, it's been mostly unknown lgbtq+ designers Harry has worked with. I think it's important because everything Harry wears sells out. Harris Reed even credited his success to Harry. It was the Vogue dress that brought attention to him. He said it was Harry's decision to do it. Yes Harry gains from it too but he could easily choose to work with mostly straight brands like Louis does. Many of Harry's supporting acts have been part of the lgbtq+ community. Books, music, movies he mentions. Even the author of the MP book thanked Harry for the increase in book sales. I don't think you can deny that Harry has helped lgbtq+ designers, artists and projects get recognized when the people themselves credit Harry for their success (many of them have). But having said that I do wish he was more vocal about the lgbtq+ community but I think the reason he isn't is because he's obviously in the closet. As for sacking LOT members, I thought there was good reasoning behind it? One of them made a racist comment and another upset the other members.
Anon I didn’t say Harry didn’t have choices, I said that the majority of his excellent fashion choices were down to Harry Lambert, his stylist. While Harry S of course chooses which clothes to wear, Harry L curates his wardrobe with help from Molly who puts together the brief that Harry L works from. I think it’s pretty obvious from Harry’s previous choices that Harry L and Molly have really had an impact on making his aesthetic a lot more interesting.
I’m sorry but this thing about designers is also fundamentally untrue - prior to Gucci, Harry wore YSL almost exclusively for years. He regularly wears other big brands including: Bode, Prada, Lanvin, Celine, Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Maison Margiela, Erdem, Jean, Paul Gaultier, Commes de Garcons, JW Anderson. Also, wtf is a ‘straight brand’.
He has of course previously worn custom Harris Reed, but Harris Reed while unknown, at the time, comes from a wealthy, privileged background full of industry connections. He also has terrible employment practises himself.
Harry causing some people to make more money through little to no effort does nothing to negate the active choices he makes which harm workers.
Harry is a millionaire, who has engaged in racist behaviour and who upholds racist systems so I think you can understand why Harry sacking someone for something he himself does might be an issue - feel free to come back and specify if it’s something I’m missing about a band member but I don’t actually know what you’re referring to.
I dunno who you mean that ‘upset other members’ but that’s super vague, if you wanna provide more info go ahead. Adam and Charlotte were both members of the band who weren’t paid during covid and then sacked in circumstances that they clearly were not expecting and in a way that totally fucked up their income streams.

Had a brainworm yesterday, and jotted down what secret boss Neb would be like if she was in a turn-based game. It's pretty rough and there are no stats for her, but at least there's sort of a flow of battle that can be discerned from what I've written down.
First Phase: Vessel
Basic ATK: deals 250% of Neb's Crit Rate as damage to a single character.
Skill: deals 4 x 55% of Neb's Crit Damage as damage, divided by 1/2 among each of the opposing characters.
Ultimate: Neb inflicts Time Stop (prevents a character from performing an action for two turns) on one character, and deals 8 x 40% of her Crit Rate as damage, which is also dealt to an adjacent character. Neb absorbs 1/16 of the damage dealt as HP and heals, and gains Reincarnation (if the unit reaches 0 HP within the next two turns, they recover 25% of their total HP and immediately deals the total amount of HP lost as damage to a single character).
Talent: every 4 turns, summons two Pawns of Time, which gain a stack of Ageless (they always survive on 1 HP the first time they would be defeated). Every time Neb attacks, they chip in with their own attacks once each (AOE, deals 1/4 of 200% of their own ATK as damage).
Second Phase: False Bearer of Reincarnation
Basic ATK: deals 1/2 of 200% of Neb's ATK as damage to all characters on the field.
Skill: Neb gains Illumination (+20% chance to dodge attacks, +20% to remove debuffs, +20% damage increase) and summons two Pawns of Time, which are inflicted with Curse Bearer (HP is reduced to 1, spreads Curse (reduces Speed by 20%, Defense by 20%, CR/CD by 40%, and drains HP by 1/12 at the end of each turn) when hit by a contact move) and Ageless.
Ultimate: removes all buffs and debuffs on the field, and deals damage equal to the number of buffs/debuffs + Neb's Defense x 1.5 to all characters on the field. If any Pawns of Time and/or Servants of Reincarnation are present, they are immediately sacrificed and the multiplier is bumped up to 2 instead of 1.5.
Talent: every two turns, summons two Servants of Reincarnation, which gain two stacks of Reincarnation. They cannot attack. Every time Neb uses her Skill, they lose 1/4 of their HP as damage, which is reflected upon the opposing team. If their HP reaches 0 by this effect, all stacks of Reincarnation are removed, and the Servants of Reincarnation become Pawns of Time.
Third Phase: False King of Rebellion
Basic ATK: deals 180% of Neb's Crit Rate + Crit Damage/1.5 as damage to a single character on the field, and inflicts them with two stacks of Defiance (random chance to attack an ally, +40% damage increase) and inflicts an adjacent character with a single stack of Defiance.
Skill: Neb deals 3 x 66% of her Defense as damage to the opposing team, and inflicts them all with a stack of Rebellion (-40% Defense, -40% Attack, -40% Speed), Compliance (drains 20% of mana/MP at the end of a character's turn) and Bribery (-1% damage output per 10k gold/coins that the player currently possesses). At the end of the turn after this Skill was cast, two Soldiers of the Fallen King are summoned to the opposing side of the field, and gain Imprisonment (-20% Speed to all allies + inflicts a random debuff to allies excluding themselves).
Ultimate: deals 200% of Neb's ATK + 50% of Neb's Defense as damage to the opposing team, while Neb loses 10% of her HP in the process. If there are any Soldiers of the Fallen King present on the opposing team, they immediately lose Imprisonment and move to Neb's side of the field, gaining Enlightenment (+40% damage, +40% speed, +50% Crit Rate + Crit Damage boost) and Blessings of the King (fixed 20% chance to move again immediately after attacking, heals 1/16 of HP at the end of their turns).
Talent: for every 1/6 of Neb's HP that is lost, she gains a stack of Retaliation (requires 5 stacks to activate. When active: inflicts Time Stop and Curse on two opposing characters, deals 2 x 88% of Neb's Defense as damage to the whole team, and increases Neb's Defense and Resistance by 40% of the total amount of HP that she's lost during this Phase).
Final Phase: Former Bearer of Time
Basic ATK: deals 100% of Neb's ATK, 2 x 33% of Neb's Crit Rate, 4 x 24% of Neb's Crit Damage, and 3 x 20% of Neb's Defense as damage to the opposing team, and inflicts a random debuff on each one. When her Basic ATK resolves, Neb gains a stack of Ageless and Enlightenment, and two Pawns of Time are summoned to her side of the field with two random buffs each.
Skill: removes all debuffs from the field and deals damage equal to 80% of Neb's HP x the amount of debuffs removed to the opposing team. If no debuffs are present, 100% of Neb's ATK is dealt as damage instead. At the end of the turn when this Skill was cast, two Servants of Reincarnation are summoned to Neb's side of the field with two random buffs each.
Ultimate: all buffs and debuffs are removed, and subsequently all Pawns of Time, Servants of Reincarnation, and Soldiers of the Fallen King are sacrificed. For every buff, debuff, Pawn, Servant, and Soldier that is removed, Neb deals 30% more damage and gains a fixed 40% chance to immediately follow up with a Basic ATK after her Ultimate ends. Deals 200% of Neb's Defense and 2 x 44% of Neb's Resistance as damage to the opposing team, and inflicts three characters with Time Stop at random.
Talent: when the opposing team has two or more debuffs applied, exactly one debuff is removed from each character. For every debuff that is removed, Neb gains a stack of Retaliation. When she gains 3 stacks of Retaliation, Forebearance (absorb 30% of the opposing team's HP and deal 50% of damage taken so far during this Phase to the opposing team) is immediately triggered, and two Soldiers of the Fallen King are summoned to the opposing side of the field, while two Servants of Reincarnation are summoned to Neb's side of the field. Whenever a Pawn of Time, Servant of Reincarnation, or Soldier of the Fallen King leaves the field, Neb gains a stack of Reincarnation and Blessings of the King, up to 4 times each.

Hey! Love your blog and completely agree with everything you're posting about Jamie Oliver, but so tired of seeing people equate Marcus Rashford - who has campaigned tirelessly for a cause near & dear to his heart - in the same category as Jack Monroe - who seems to think constantly tweeting triggering content with no warnings is good activism, and is often displaying a thinly veiled disdain for the very people they are supposed to be helping.
Hopefully I'll be proven wrong when the Vines Boots Index finally releases. We were originally promised that would be finished in like Feb/March though and haven't heard anything since, so I'm not holding out much hope.
I understand she's said herself in the past that she comes from a middle class background and her message was that poverty can affect literally anyone, but I'm sorry I see blatant snobbery peeking out sometimes, in the way she talks about the foster kids she grew up with, or the way she describes working class people sometimes - like in this article https://www.theguardian.com/society/patrick-butler-cuts-blog/2013/jun/06/food-poverty-jack-monroe-it-could-happen-to-anyone
"You have no idea whether the young woman with a black baby and a lanky blond nine year old on her arm is a foster carer or a 'slut' " - Jack Monroe in the Guardian. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2013/sep/18/jack-monroe-starve-benefits-england
This was their rebuttal to "whispers and stares" when taking her parents' foster kids out. So if hypothetically those kids were that young woman's then that's a bad thing ?! The article is well intentioned and i agree with its message but slips like this and implying that people in poverty aren't "normal people" in the first article which show how she truly thinks about us tbh.
I'll never forgive Jack for publicly bashing Corbyn several times in 2017-19, a man who would have put in place so many of the policies that Jack claimed to support. They were even planning to run as MP against labour in 2017 in Southend until they stepped down due to receiving an anonymous letter threatening them https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/food-blogger-jack-monroe-announces-10317018
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/may/11/jack-monroe-abandons-bid-to-become-an-mp
Only once Corbyn had been replaced and had no chance of being Prime Minister did Jack change their tune.
I also wish the people recommending her website would give some of Jack's recipes a try first, they're mostly terrible, and make the infuriating decision to 'cost' by the amounts used, as if anyone is going to be able to find 4 pence worth of black pepper somewhere
Despite the good I can agree they've done with raising funds for the trussel trust, both times she's done a major fundraiser for them have also helped raise her own profile - the time she gave books they weren't donated directly by her to food banks, members of the public had to pay for 2 copies and one would be a "donation" which coincidentally helped inflate her books' sales figures. Her recent fundraiser involved purchasing t shirts with her name printed on them next to the slogans to again raise her profile - and we have no way of knowing that all of the profits are being donated as promised.
Just because someone shares our politics doesn't necessarily mean they're automatically a great person. Some will definitely co opt our movement for their own personal gain.
As someone who's been on Tumblr a long time I remember Zubat and the Leelah Project, I remember people on Twitter finally clueing up to Rachel Swindon, hell I even remember the HIV Hamilton mermaid fanfiction girl being outed. I honestly think Jack Monroe is someone in the same vein.
Sorry this is so long but I've seen Jack being paraded around Tumblr lately as if she's actually doing anything to help, people even giving them credit for being involved in Marcus' campaigning, and that's just not true. I feel like I'm challenging the Emperor's New clothes here.
Maybe I'm just overly mistrustful, but I'm just seeing a lot of red flags and I would recommend people donate directly to Trussell Trust rather than send the money to this person.
Having said all the above I do agree with the content of most of Jack's articles and tweets (even if I think they're in it mostly for the money) and I hope they absolutely destroy Lee Anderson in court.
(Jack uses they/she pronouns and I've included a mix of both in this post, sorry if its confusingly worded anywhere )
hi! thank you so much for sending this! there are some really great points worth pulling out of this. i always think it's good to treat any public figure with a healthy dose of scepticism. going to put this under a cut because it's long!
i'll preface this by saying that i don't follow jack monroe on twitter, nor to i keep a really close eye on everything they do - they're just someone who will pop up on my feed every now and then as a recommended tweet/because my mututals have liked one of her tweets, or i'll see them in the news/some panel show every once in a while. i also currently work for the trussell trust.
firstly yes, after reading those articles i totally agree with you that the classism is LEAPING out of this one. "I had a £27 grand a year job. I've not been brought up on benefits and a tracksuit watching Jeremy Kyle. I'm a middle class, well educated young woman who fell a bit by the way side. You think it doesn't happen to normal people, and you think we are all scumbags, eating burgers and watching day time TV. It can happen to anyone."
i understand that their point here is to dispel commonly-held perceptions about working/lower-class people, but even if someone was eating burgers and watching daytime TV, doesn't mean they're any less deserving of food lol. that whole article was clearly designed to appeal to the middle and upper classes (i.e. guardian readers), rather than building any sort of sympathy and solidarity for the working class, you're right.
though, perhaps in fairness i should say that those articles are from 2013 so... very very early on in the public side of her career, and she was only 25 years old so i don't think it's totally fair to expect every single thing that they said to tick every single "100% perfect and virtuous morality" box we have if that makes sense? i don't know how much conscious unlearning has taken place since then though, so i'm willing to be corrected here again.
her standing in the general election gives me huge jess phillips vibes - that whole empty "speaking truth to power" thing... though it is her right to stand if she wants to like i'm not going to pretend that the labour party is perfect, or that jeremy corbyn was perfect because (though i agreed with him on many many many things and i voted for him) he wasn't.
a minor point but i am poor and i use jack monroe's recipes and i don't have an issue with them lmao i think that's just a subjective thing that depends on what sort of cook you are tbh so i'm going to leave that
also agree with your point about her self promo - for example i really wasn't a fan of the t shirts (?) they recently sold to raise money for us at the trussell trust but also like... it did still raise the money, and if a silly t shirt is what it takes to tempt the public into donating money for foodbanks then that's something i'm sort of willing to overlook? like not to be machiavelli on main but sometimes the ends do actually justify the means.like.
more generally i think far too often on tumblr/twitter/the internet in general, people throw out the baby with the bathwater and are obsessed with seeing things in black and white. like. we are not immanuel kant and we are capable of viewing people with compassion and nuance and it doesn't have to be a "this person is EVIL you should totally ignore every single thing that they do" or a "this person is a SAINT you should totally agree with every single thing they do".
and like you said: on the whole you agree with most of their tweets/articles, so i don't think it's worth completely disparaging her. that being said, yes i also don't think it's worth completely venerating her either. you just have to trust that people aren't unintelligent and can make informed decisions of their own.
i know you said that we shouldn't compare them but one day marcus rashford (who is only 24!) will probably say something or do something ~problematic at some point in the future, but in my mind - and within reason - i don't think that automatically unpicks or undermines every single good thing a person has done.
i think a lot of this is a case of someone getting a national platform they weren't expecting, and then not being able to handle it well. like she doesn't deal well with any sort of backlash, and their actions perhaps aren't thought-through because she's literally just some person who wasn't trained or prepared for this. maybe they should hire some sort of PR team now though, if they haven't already...

Quiet Spaces between Adventures
The playtest materials for Fabula Ultima have been a fascinating look at the ongoing development for a game I already enjoy. Meant to offer a greater spotlight to resting scenes from the core rulebook, the concept of Camp Activities provides an additional host of options to these resting scenes beyond merely just modifying or increasing a character's bonds.
In essence, Camp Activities are little mechanic prompts--like using the camp forge or sleeping peacefully--that allow you to frame your resting scenes in different ways and receiving different results. Each player is offered two such Camp Activities, meant to be chosen at character creation, and the book advised make sure you avoid redundant Camp Activities within the same group while also choosing ones that fit your player character's concept and identity.
Like many things in Fabula Ultima, I find it very cute and very serviceable for what it does... but I also find it a little bit arbitrary that some character who did not choose Sleep Soundly during character creation, or was not allowed to because someone else chose it, is mechanically never allowed to do so.
Yes, I understand that this is sort of a silly, hyperbolic statement, but it's also true from a purely mechanical perspective. And it was that thought that caused me to think, upon reading how Downtime worked in Armour Astir, that I had found a better way.
In Armour Astir, downtime scenes are mechanized by scenes and tokens. Each player character is granted a single scene that they are allowed to frame, inviting other players in as they see fit, and two tokens which players may essentially use to gate crash other people's scenes. Framing a scene provides an explicit benefit to the scene framer alone, but tokens that the players possess may be spent to gain additional benefits from a menu of options associated with the scene... or allow a player to enter the scene and similarly pick a benefit from that same menu. In this way, players can take the benefits from resting scenes that they want, and they need only consider what they want their primary benefit (from their scene selection) to be and what secondary benefits they wish to purchase (with their tokens).
And it doesn't stop their, either. The Downtime rules for Armour Astir also allow the GM to get in on the action, granting them one token for each player character at the table. These tokens be spent to interact with the players by asking them questions or reframing ongoing scenes in new and different ways. They may even be used on cutaways to the enemy camp where other characters are having their own down times that can be used to purchase penalties to the players or upgrades for foes.
I found it immediately more intuitive (to my mind) than the Camp Activities system, and more open ended for my own players, so I set to making this first draft of an attempt to use the same mechanisms for Fabula Ultima.
Downtime & Camp Scenes
Between their adventures and during their inevitable rest stops on the road, characters have time to themselves to rest, prepare, and do their own thing. This downtime is played out as a series of scenes, each led by a single player who may invite others into it. They don’t need to be elaborate or long–they can be as simple as describing the actions you take or you may find yourself continuing to invite other characters into the scene as it continues to unfold.
Each player gets to lead 1 Scene, and each also gets 2 Tokens to spend during any player’s scene (even their own) to gain further benefits. The Gamemaster also takes 1 Token per player, which they may spend to refocus a scene or ask a question of the player characters which they must answer. Alternatively, these GM tokens may be spent to frame a cutaway scene to reveal an unwelcome truth or show signs of a future threat and gain 1 Hold. These Hold may be spent, 1-for-1, to allow one non-villain enemy to reroll a single check or recover 25 HP or MP.
Finally, you may choose to frame your Scene but not take the benefit described: if you do so, you may choose another player to gain an extra token for this Downtime.
Plan & Prepare
The leading player takes the time to focus on the situation ahead: they may start or advance a long-term project to learn more about a subject, or gain 1 Fabula Point to represent the plans they’ve made. They frame a short scene around this, either alone, or with invited characters.
During the scene, anyone may spend a token to choose one:
Plan & Prepare, as above.
Check the maps, allowing the group to reroll the die on their next travel roll.
Share notes with someone, adding or adjusting an emotion in a Bond.
Give or Receive a Pep talk, granting or gaining 1 Hold. This Hold may be spent at any time to recover 25 Mind Points before your next rest.
Rest & Recuperate
The leading player takes the time to tend to what ails them or spend some time relaxing: they may recover all their Hit Points and Mind Points and clear their Status Effects (if they do not/cannot use a Magic Tent or pay for a room in an Inn if available), or pass the time resting and gain 1 point of Experience and add or adjust an emotion in a Bond. They frame a short scene around this, either alone, or with invited characters.
During the scene, anyone may spend a token to choose one:
Rest & Recuperate, as above.
Sleep Soundly, gaining 1 Hold. This Hold may be spent to perform an additional action on your turn before your next rest.
Meditate and center yourself, gaining 1 Hold. This Hold may be spent to either halve the HP loss from a single source or halve the MP cost of a single spell or ritual before your next rest.
Prepare special rations, gaining 1 Hold. This Hold may be spent at any time to allow yourself or another character to recover 25 Hit Points before your next rest.
Tinker & Train
The leading player spends time working on a project or engaging in martial training drills: they may start or advance a long-term project (per the project rules on pg 134 of the core book), or gain 1 Hold which may be spent to grant any attack the multi (2) property, or increase the attack’s multi property by 1. They frame a short scene around this, either alone, or with invited characters.
During the scene, anyone may spend a token to choose one:
Tinker & Train, as above.
Burn the Midnight oil, choosing 1: Generate 1 point of progress for a single Project of your choice; Repair a damaged item owned by the group; Create a single basic weapon, armor, or shield of your choice (pages 130-133 of the Core Rulebook); Destroy a single piece of equipment owned by the group and obtain a material whose value is equal to the cost of the destroyed item.
Give or Receive some pointers, granting or gaining 1 Hold. This hold may be spent to gain +4 to an Accuracy Check or a Magic Check for an Offensive spell once before the next rest.
Ask for a Magic lesson, gaining one use of a Spell another character knows until your next rest (Normal rules for casting the spell still apply).
Explore & Exchange
The leading player spends time trying to see what kinds of resources they can muster, whether through exploration or trade: they may either encounter a friendly merchant allowing them to exchange Zenit for any Basic Equipment (pages 130-133 of the Core Rulebook) or a selection of Materials and Rare Items (determined by the GM) or roll on the Exploration and Gathering table below. They frame a short scene around this, either alone, or with invited characters.
Exploration and Gathering table
1: H-help! The entire group gets caught up in an easy conflict against a threat whose level is equal to the group level.
2: Will these be okay? Choose: Regain 1 Inventory Point, 250 Zenit worth of Materials, or 2 ingredients with random tastes (for the Gourmet Class)
3 - 5: Hoho, this can be useful! Choose: Regain 3 Inventory Points, 500 Zenit worth of Materials, or 3 ingredients with random tastes (for the Gourmet Class)
6: Jackpot! Choose: Regain All of your Inventory Points, 1000 Zenit worth of Materials, or 3 ingredients, each with a taste of your choice (for the Gourmet Class)
During the scene, anyone may spend a token to choose one:
Explore & Exchange, as above.
Spend time working or in the field with someone, add or adjust an emotion in a Bond.
Learn something new or find something useful, start or advance a long-term project of your choice.
Run into trouble; resolve it as an easy conflict against a threat whose level is equal to the group level, and see what you learn or acquire.
At the moment, I'm not certain if they'll work well or not without playtesting. Or if my ideas here are even any good. But I do think it's a neat idea and something that I'm interested in playing around with.

fatphobia and weight loss discussion tw (basically discussing thin people's bullshit and the oz/mp/c bullshit and more)
tfw thin people THINK they're being progressive and fat allies when talking abt this oz/mpic bullshit
but then they use the words ob/se and ob/sity epidemic and claim that "losing weight is simple, but it's not easy"
actually wow it's neither of those things?
"ppl always trying to skip out on the fact that it's hard work, you have to move more and eat better"
how abt you die and rot in hell?
i'm fucking tired
it's just mind boggling bc in between all of that is how shitty it apparently is that thin is The Beauty Standard and always has been, how strides in "body diversity" (rather than, y'know, FAT LIBERATION) have been meager, and saying that it's terrible to be depriving ppl of medication they need--and that the fda is deeply irresponsible, etc.
but then on top of that
to say the shit from further above--
AND ALSO
"this is for ppl who are actually ob/se and need to lose weight, not ppl who want to drop 10 lbs"
oh and then
apparently--JUST LIKE LITERALLY EVERY OTHER METHOD OF WEIGHT LOSS--ppl who STOP taking this medication gain back all of the weight and then some
and this is used as a GOTCHA! for "lazy people who don't want to work hard to lose weight" rather than, y'know, anything abt how
LOSING WEIGHT IS DANGEROUS, ILL-ADVISED, AND USELESS, AS IT HAS BEEN PROVEN TO BEAR NO LONG-TERM BENEFITS TO ANYONE WHO ACTUALLY FUCKING MANAGES IT
and also anyone who loses weight is likely to gain it all back AND THEN SOME within a few years
so the fact that this medication is making that happen FASTER is deeply worrisome
it sounds dangerous as fuck
it is NOT a safe alternative to ripping out your stomach--though it achieves the same result!!!
it makes you STARVE YOURSELF!
AS IF "OVER EATING" IS THE ONLY CAUSE OF BEING FAT
i'm so fucking tired i'm so sick of this bullshit i'm SO FUCKING TIRED
and what timing for me to finally decide giving this video a chance, being like, hey, this person, afaik, makes educated videos abt shit, i'll trust her
nope
thin people are gonna be stupid and thin every fucking time
the timing is bc this was the thing my mom got mad abt
it sounds like she was hoping to try it as well bc she's struggling to lose abt 15 pounds (which is literally all she "needs" to lose--to be physically more comfortable, and purportedly to help w a specific medical condition that, bc of my Deep Medical Anxiety, i haven't looked into to try and Fact Check bc i deeply disbelieve anyone and anything that says weight loss is a treatment)
and now it's like
sorry, you can't take this
it'll make you starve yourself
fuck with your basal metabolic rate
and you'll have to take it for the rest of your life
risking kidney and liver and pancreas problems, long-term
and probably malnutrition
bc if you go off of it, you will IMMEDIATELY gain back the weight you lost and then some
instead of just....
being a little bit more active to slowly, over time, replace those 15 pounds of fat with some muscle
like that's what i have to do
and does that sound similar to what that fucker was saying in her video? that people who want to take this pill are "lazy"?
yeah but i'm not repeating the same garbage sentiments and i'll tell you why :)))))))
it's bc this is excess weight (for both me and my mom) that the pandemic has caused
our activity habits have SERIOUSLY CHANGED
and she has been capable of going down 10-15 pounds when need be
but she is currently in a CYCLONE OF STRESS so of course it's fucking difficult right now
also actually there are two reasons she's "supposed to" lose weight
and quite frankly one of them i don't think will be affected by weight loss literally at all, just more activity will help
and also it's a thing that naturally fluctuates all the fucking time for No Known Reason (bc they refuse to look into it and just say You're Too Fat, Lose Weight instead of actually fucking researching it) and so there's a chance that in 5 years, it'll just be back to normal, everything fine
and the other thing won't even be a problem for another 10 years
so this desperation to lose weight is just this sense of being Stuck in a Garbage Fucking Life
it's not the weight that's the problem (except for any like, physical discomfort)
it's the stress and depression
but i don't get to just say that or talk to her abt that bc she'll probably just get angry and defensive at me again abt this shit
anyway i'm going to get aubrey gordon's books. been meaning to and just hadn't managed to. but i will now.
i really need the information within them to help ward off the surge of fatphobia going on.
also has anyone else noticed that ALL FORMS OF BIGOTRY are having a massive surge, as the tide of fascism is rising?
what a coincidence /sarcasm

Wishing for the Final Act
Obtainability: Limited to completing the “Closing and Opening Symposium” event.
MLB Effect: MP Gain Down [40%] (Target / 3 Turns)
Effect Definitions:
MP Gain Down will decrease the target’s MP Gain when using discs, when they’re attacked, or when they activate a skill that gives them MP Restore.
TLDR: “Wishing for the Final Act” is a memoria that is useless outside of specific fights, and can belongs in the Memoria Storage Jail. It should be helpful when it comes to Magia Stall Teams.
Review: “Wishing for the Final Act” is a copy of the following memoria:
(Limited Welfare 4*) “The Beginning Is Here” MP Gain Down [40%] (One / 3 turns)
As such, the reviews will be very similar. However, even if you already have a copy of “The Beginning Is Here,” you should still keep “Wishing for the Final Act.” This is because both memoria can be extremely helpful if you’re struggling with the One-Hundred Evils Challenges, particularly if you rely on Magia Stall Teams. However, keep in mind that sometimes the enemies you face will have unreasonably high MP gain so that memoria like this can’t prevent them from using a Magia or a Doppel.
Onto the actual review-- this memoria is useless unless you’re fighting an enemy that can get to Magia. This won’t be applicable for most of your fights: witches don’t use magia, you wouldn’t waste an active slot on this memoria for Kimochi, and only a few magical girls will even have a second bar for MP gain in fights. Additionally this memoria has too long a cooldown to be of any use in Mirrors.
This means the few times you’ll want to use this will be during the Hundred Evils or for a few specific EX-Challenge fights.
If you’re a player with many good and slotted units, you still might not use this memoria however. A good magia loop team (where you magia every turn) can mean you’re killing enemies before they can so much as get a scratch on you, let along gain MP. However if you’re a player who relies on Magia Stall teams, then “Wishing for the Final Act” will become an important tool in your arsenal.
This can help you prevent encounter troublesome enemies from gaining MP every turn, and keeping one target from getting to Magia for those three turns can mean the difference between success and a loss. Additionally it can allow for some breathing room while you work to gain more MP for the next turn.
However, even if you’re a whale, you still shouldn’t use this memoria as Enhancement Fodder. You never know what horrible scheme the devs will work on to make your life difficult, and thus this memoria belongs in the Memoria Vault Jail.

Combat in KHTTRPG (Part 2)
(Please note this is beta material, and subject to change)
The following actions are available to use on your turn in Combat.
Move. There are several Ranges of distance an enemy can be – Short, Medium, Long, or Far. For each distance greater that you are away from the enemy, you need to use an additional Move Action to get close enough – or far enough away –  to hit them, based on your weapon’s range.
Jump. When an enemy is Airborne, you don’t just have to close in on them for sheer distance. Once you’re within range, you’ll have to Jump to actually get up next to them – and depending on how far the next enemy is, you may have to drop down, Move, and Jump again.
Lock On. Helpful, but not required, Locking On gives you a +5 on your Attack Check or to Cast A Spell to hit a target, but you can’t attack any other targets until either the one you’re on is dead or you use another Lock On action to switch.
Attack. The bread and butter of a battle, you Attack by rolling a number of d4s equal to your Attack Stat – usually, your Strength. If you roll higher than your enemy’s Evade, then you hit! You deal damage equal to your Attack Stat.
Cast a Spell. With some rare exceptions, most Spells take an Action to cast in combat. To Cast a Spell, you roll a number of d4s equal to your Focus. If you roll higher than the enemy’s Evade, then you hit! The Spell takes effect.
Use an Ability. Most combat-based Abilities will list their activation requirements, and while some may require multiple Actions, most just need one.
Use An Item. Sometimes in battle you will need to use a Potion, or maybe some sort of tool, to help even the odds. Using an Item covers any situation in battle where you may try to overcome something with a Challenge Rank, or where you may use something not otherwise noted on this list.
Additionally, between each of your turns in combat, you can perform one Interrupt – an action in response to an enemy’s action, which may waste an action they take. When an Action is stopped by an Interrupt, the Action is still spent, but nothing happens. (Beware! Enemies also get one interrupt per turn, potentially making your Action irrelevant.)
You begin with three options to Interrupt, and can gain more as you level up in Job and Weapon Classes.
Stop Casting. An Interrupt for when an enemy tries to cast a spell. Make an Attack against the enemy. If the Attack lands, the enemy’s spell fails. You can choose whether the attack deals damage and the enemy doesn’t waste their MP, or if the attack doesn’t deal damage and the enemy’s MP is still spent, even though the spell failed.
Guard. An Interrupt for when an enemy attacks you. Guard adds +5 to your Defense for one attack.
Dodge Roll. An Interrupt for when an enemy attacks you. Dodge Roll adds +5 to your Evade for one attack.

I just laugh now at figuring out WHAT her blade’s trump card means: Ennoodzuno. Sounds badass right? Well we have Murasame being ‘Autumn Rains’, in japanese, but the blade itself was nicknamed One Slice Certain Kill. But, what does Ennoodzuno stand for?
          Little War Trumpet.
First off, WHAT about this is a fucking ‘TRUMPET’? Second, what is LITTLE about the immense boost of speed and strength she gained?! She went from running at mach 825 (340k mps) to DOUBLE that. Her strength increased to cleaving down SOLID ICE DEFENSES like BUTTER in her fight with Esdeath. Furthermore, why do you need to KILL YOUR MOST LOVED PERSON to activate a TRUMPET?!
Seriously, I’m dying over finding out the name’s translation. It makes zero fucking sense but in the best of ways.

I've been pretty bored lately thanks to dog watch duty, so after doing the hundred evils I decided to try and see if I couldn't get my number of turns down.
Heruka is incredible man. Her SE active makes it easy to gain MP on the other girls and then her magia/doppel gives everyone MP too. This whole team is just swimming in MP. My Heruka only has one slot, I can't imagine how powerful she'd be fully slotted.
I really want to give Masara & Kokoro full slots but I'm highly tempted to work on Heruka first. I dunno man! I dunno!

Finland, Sweden and Turkey's discussions regarding the Nordic countries' applications for Nato membership will recommence on Monday, Ilta-Sanomat (siirryt toiseen palveluun) reports.
The Finnish President's office tweeted (siirryt toiseen palveluun) on Sunday about the continuation of the talks, which will be hosted by Nato's Secretary General Jen Stoltenberg in Brussels.
Turkey has repeatedly expressed its opposition to Finland and Sweden's Nato membership citing concerns about what it believes is Kurdish-related terrorist activity in the two countries. More specifically, Erdogan's government has accused the two states of hiding and protecting suspected members of Kurdish independence group PKK—which the EU has classified as a terrorist organisation.
A series of demands have been made by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in order to accept the membership applications, threatening to postpone his decision by a year if talks fail to find common ground, according to IS.
Prime Minister Sanna Marin (SDP) told reporters on Sunday that Turkey had previously expressed support for Finland's membership, but has since changed its stance since the application.
"It would be really important for us to reach a solution so that we can move forward in the whole process. This whole situation is very unfortunate, as before Finland expressed its willingness for NATO membership, Turkey had stated that it would not cause any problems in this process," the Prime Minister said.
NCP's #MeToo scandal
National Coalition Party (NCP) parliamentarian Wille Rydman has found himself embroiled in a harassment scandal, following a publication on Sunday by Helsingin Sanomat (siirryt toiseen palveluun) (HS) reporting on several claims of inappropriate behaviour.
A few women told HS that Rydman used his position to gain access to young women and girls and behaved in a threatening and suggestive way, at times serving alcohol to underage girls in doing so.
Rydman denies all allegations, according to Ilta-Sanomat, among others.
Some papers, including HS and Hufvudstadsblade (siirryt toiseen palveluun)t, have since reported that the NCP's leader, Petteri Orpo, has expressed his shock over the situation and has since said that Rydman's position within the party would be reassessed in light of the allegations.
The Coalition Party's parliamentary group chairman Kai Mykkänen also expressed his full agreement with the party leader in a tweet (siirryt toiseen palveluun) on Sunday, HBL reported.
After the rain comes the sun
It is going to be a sunny start to the Midsummer week, following a rainy weekend, tabloid Iltalehti (siirryt toiseen palveluun) (IL) reports. Temperatures will hover around 20 degrees Celsius in the south and 15 degrees in the north.
As for the Midsummer weekend, it is worth packing both sunglasses and wellies to the summer cottage this year, according to the paper (siirryt toiseen palveluun). Friday morning will see shower spells across the country, however skies should clear by the evening and for the rest of the weekend.
"Temperatures around the latitude of Tampere will be between 18–20 degrees. The south will see the warmest weather," Foreca meteorologist Juha Föhr told IL.
Lapland's Midsummer will be slightly cooler and wetter. Northern temperatures are generally expected to hover around 10-15 degrees.
Föhr recommends preparing for sudden rain spells by keeping an eye on a rain radar, such as the one provided by Foreca, for example.
Court imprisons Turku politician, girlfriend for secretly filming children in school showers
The District Court of Southwest Finland has handed down a prison sentence to a Turku politician for filming underage girls in the shower rooms of a school.
Sasu Haapanen, a former mayoral candidate for the Left Alliance party in the city of Turku, was sentenced to two years and two months' imprisonment on aggravated charges of spreading sexually indecent imagery of a child and sexual exploitation of a child as well as six counts of sexual abuse of a child.
The court also convicted Haapanen's girlfriend, who had secretly taken the photos of the children aged 7-10 in the shower room and given them to him for sexual purposes.
She was sentenced to two years' imprisonment on six counts of spreading sexually indecent imagery of a child and six counts of sexual abuse of a child.

Protein Drinks Before Bed: Nighttime Fuel for Fitness Fanatics?
Tumblr media
For fitness enthusiasts, the quest for optimal muscle growth and recovery is a constant pursuit. Every rep, every set, and every meticulously chosen meal plays a role in sculpting that coveted physique. But what happens when the weights are put away and the gym lights are dimmed? Does the muscle-building process cease entirely during those precious hours of sleep? Enter the intriguing concept of protein drinks before bed – a potential nighttime weapon in the fitness fanatic's arsenal.
Unveiling the Nighttime Ritual: Protein Shakes Before Bed
The idea of consuming protein before bed might seem counterintuitive. After all, most meals are relegated to the waking hours. However, dedicated athletes and bodybuilders have long embraced this practice, believing it can provide an edge during sleep. But is there any scientific backing to this nighttime ritual, or is it simply fitness folklore?
Unveiling the Mystery: Can Protein Help You While You Sleep?
The answer lies within the intricate dance of muscle protein synthesis (MPS) and muscle protein breakdown (MPB). MPS is the anabolic process responsible for building and repairing muscle tissue. Conversely, MPB is the body's natural process of breaking down muscle for energy. Ideally, we want to tip the scales in favor of MPS, especially during recovery periods like sleep.
The Science Behind Sleep and Muscle
During sleep, the body enters a fasted state. This can lead to an increase in MPB, potentially hindering muscle growth. Here's where pre-sleep protein shakes come in. By providing a sustained stream of amino acids, the building blocks of protein, they may help elevate MPS rates throughout the night, counteracting the fasted state and promoting a more favorable muscle-building environment.
Athletes, Lifters, and Night Owls: Who Can Benefit Most?
While anyone can potentially benefit from a pre-sleep protein shake, some individuals might see more pronounced effects. Athletes undergoing intense training schedules or those struggling to meet their daily protein requirements can find this practice particularly helpful. Additionally, shift workers with irregular sleep patterns may benefit from the sustained protein delivery during their extended sleep periods.
The Fascinating Dance of MPS and MPB
Understanding MPS and MPB is crucial. Imagine a constant tug-of-war between two teams: the MPS team, striving to build muscle, and the MPB team, intent on breaking it down. Pre-sleep protein shakes act as reinforcements for the MPS team, providing them with the resources needed to continue building muscle even while you slumber.
When Does Muscle Become Vulnerable? The Overnight Fast Explained
During sleep, the body isn't actively ingesting protein. This extended fast can create a protein deficit, tipping the scales in favor of MPB. Pre-sleep protein shakes function as a slow-digesting source of protein, offering a steady supply of amino acids throughout the night to counter this deficit and support MPS.
Can Protein Shakes Help Tip the Scales in Favor of Muscle Growth During Sleep?
Research suggests that pre-sleep protein shakes can indeed be beneficial. Studies have shown an increase in MPS rates, particularly when casein protein, a slow-digesting protein source, is consumed before bed. This sustained release of amino acids provides a longer window for muscle building during sleep.
Exploring the Benefits of Pre-Sleep Protein Shakes
The potential benefits of pre-sleep protein shakes extend beyond just promoting muscle growth. Let's delve deeper into the ways this nighttime ritual can enhance your fitness journey.
Building Bigger and Stronger: Can Protein Shakes Enhance Muscle Mass Gains?
As discussed, pre-sleep protein shakes may elevate MPS rates, leading to increased muscle protein accretion – the fancy term for building muscle mass. This can be particularly advantageous for athletes and lifters seeking to maximize their gains.
Repair and Rebuild: Does Nighttime Protein Support Muscle Recovery?
Exercise creates microscopic tears in muscle fibers. These tears are repaired during recovery, a process that requires ample protein. Pre-sleep protein shakes provide a steady stream of amino acids, which your body can readily use to rebuild and repair muscle tissue after a tough workout.
Nighttime Cravings? How Protein Shakes Can Curb Your Late-Night Hunger Pangs
Protein is known for its satiating properties. Consuming a protein shake before bed can help curb late-night cravings, preventing you from reaching for unhealthy snacks that could sabotage your fitness goals.
Beyond Muscle: Can Protein Shakes Improve Overall Sleep Quality?
Some studies suggest that protein, particularly casein, may have sleep-promoting effects. The slow, steady release of amino acids from casein can trigger the production of tryptophan, a precursor to the sleep hormone melatonin. This could potentially lead to a more restful night's sleep.
Tumblr media
The Metabolic Boost: Can Protein Shakes Help You Burn More Calories While You Sleep?
The thermic effect of food (TEF) refers to the energy your body expends digesting and processing food. Protein has a higher TEF compared to carbohydrates and fats. This means your body burns more calories simply by breaking down protein. Consuming a pre-sleep protein shake can elevate your TEF throughout the night, potentially leading to a slight increase in calorie expenditure while you sleep.
Choosing the Right Protein for Your Pre-Sleep Shake
Not all protein sources are created equal when it comes to nighttime consumption. Here's a breakdown of some popular options and why they might be a good fit for your pre-sleep shake.
Slow and Steady Wins the Race: Why Casein Protein Might Be Your Nighttime BFF
As mentioned earlier, casein protein is a slow-digesting protein source. This translates to a sustained release of amino acids into your bloodstream throughout the night. This prolonged delivery perfectly complements the fasted state of sleep, ensuring a steady supply of building blocks for muscle repair and growth.
Whey vs Casein: Breaking Down the Digestion Rates for Optimal Sleep Support
Whey protein, another popular choice, is known for its rapid absorption. While this is beneficial post-workout for quick muscle recovery, its fast-digesting nature might not be ideal before bed. By the time you drift off to sleep, the surge of amino acids from whey might have already subsided. Casein, with its gradual release, offers a more sustained window of muscle support during sleep.
Plant-Based Power: Exploring Vegan Protein Options for Pre-Sleep Shakes
For those following a vegan lifestyle, there are excellent plant-based protein powders available. Look for options derived from pea protein, brown rice protein, or a blend of plant-based sources. While some plant-based proteins might be slightly less digestible than whey or casein, they can still provide a valuable source of amino acids for nighttime muscle support.
Don't Forget the Macros: Balancing Protein with Carbs and Healthy Fats
While protein is the star of the show, don't neglect the importance of a balanced pre-sleep shake. Including a small amount of complex carbs, like fruits or rolled oats, can provide a sustained energy source throughout the night. Additionally, incorporating healthy fats, such as nut butter or avocado, can further enhance satiety and promote better sleep.
Flavorful Function: Making Your Pre-Sleep Protein Shake Delicious and Nutritious
Nighttime shouldn't be a time for bland and boring shakes. Experiment with different flavors and ingredients to create a pre-sleep protein shake you genuinely enjoy. Adding fruits like berries or bananas can provide natural sweetness and additional nutrients. Spices like cinnamon or nutmeg can add a warm and comforting touch. Remember, a delicious shake is more likely to become a consistent part of your nighttime routine.
Crafting the Perfect Pre-Sleep Protein Shake
Now that you're armed with the knowledge of protein sources and additional ingredients, let's explore some sample recipes tailored to specific goals.
Sample Recipes for Different Goals: Muscle Building, Recovery, and Weight Management
Muscle Building: Blend one scoop of casein protein powder with unsweetened almond milk, a banana for sweetness, and a tablespoon of peanut butter for healthy fats.
Recovery: Combine one scoop of whey protein powder with tart cherry juice (known for its anti-inflammatory properties), a handful of spinach for added vitamins, and a dollop of Greek yogurt for extra protein and creaminess.
Weight Management: Mix one scoop of plant-based protein powder with water, a handful of berries for antioxidants, and a sprinkle of chia seeds for added fiber and satiety.
Tumblr media
Beyond the Basics: Superfood Add-Ins to Boost Your Pre-Sleep Shake
For an extra nutritional punch, consider adding some superfood ingredients to your pre-sleep protein shake. Tart cherry juice, as mentioned earlier, can aid in recovery. Ashwagandha, an adaptogenic herb, may promote relaxation and better sleep. For those seeking a natural sleep aid, a sprinkle of tart cherry powder or L-theanine (an amino acid found in green tea) can be beneficial.
Sweet Dreams or Digestive Distress? Avoiding Ingredients That Can Disrupt Your Sleep
While a touch of sweetness can be delightful, avoid using sugary syrups or artificial sweeteners in your pre-sleep shake. These can cause blood sugar spikes and crashes, potentially disrupting your sleep. Additionally, steer clear of ingredients that might cause digestive discomfort, such as highly processed fiber supplements or certain artificial sweeteners.
The All-Important Timing: When to Drink Your Pre-Sleep Protein Shake for Maximum Benefit
Ideally, consume your pre-sleep protein shake 1-2 hours before bedtime. This allows sufficient time for digestion without interfering with sleep onset.
Addressing Common Concerns About Pre-Sleep Protein Shakes
While the potential benefits of pre-sleep protein shakes are enticing, some concerns linger. Let's address some of the most frequently asked questions:
Can Protein Shakes Cause Sleep Disruption? Separating Fact from Fiction
There's a misconception that protein shakes can disrupt sleep due to the digestive process. However, research suggests that consuming a moderate serving of protein, particularly slow-digesting casein, does not negatively impact sleep quality. In fact, some studies indicate protein may even promote better sleep.
Lactose Intolerant? Alternative Protein Options for a Peaceful Night's Sleep
If you're lactose intolerant, casein protein might not be the best choice. Luckily, there are excellent alternatives. Opt for whey protein isolates, which are low in lactose content, or explore plant-based protein powders derived from pea protein, brown rice protein, or a blend of plant-based sources.
Sugar Crash City: Avoiding High-Sugar Protein Powders for Optimal Sleep
