✨IkeVamp OC Character Sheet - Leanna✨

My baby girl... She's very much a work in progress, but i'd like to share a rough idea of her character.

Introduction

Name: Leanna (27)

A pharmacology grad student. Burnt out and lost sight of her purpose, she submitted a leave of absence for a semester as per her mentor's suggestion.

Leanna decided to go on a trip to France, a vacation that lasted much longer than intended due to a moment of curiosity and irrationality.

Some Info Dump (in no particular chronological order)

What’s in my bag?

An A5 sketchbook, a small journal, wallet + keys, fountain pen + coloured pencils, and her phone

Personality

A reserved and rational observer. Meticulous and methodical in almost everything she does, a habit formed from her work. She also developed a bad habit of rationalizing her feelings and emotions.

Leanna can be quite anxious in social situations since she'd have to consciously put in the effort to "read the room" and follow social rules. A good and empathetic listener, but struggles with how to deal with other people's emotions.

Once she opens up, Leanna becomes more casual. She likes to joke around and banter with friends. She tries her best to brighten their day, whether with a small act of service or a small gift.

Others

The first friend Leanna met in the mansion was Lumiere. A huge cat person - she has a lot of cat trinkets.

Due to her mental state, she was quite apathetic towards the residents and the world she was stuck in when she first arrived at the mansion.

Her relationship with Leonardo started out with him dragging her around while he did odd jobs here and there. The more time they spent together, the more Leanna started to enjoy small, mundane moments in life - something she forgot as her research consumed her.

I’d like to think Leanna’s time with Leo is the catalyst of her recovery. She doesn’t immediately find her way after a month at the mansion, but it caused a necessary paradigm shift as she figures out her own goals/ priorities and how she’d achieve them.

His commentary and thoughts

Opening scene-once upon a time-

Toddler- oh hey it's like a bed time story.

Belle singing opening song- me singing along because I can't help myself.

Me-yeah buddy this was my favorite movie when I was little.

I pause the movie to give him my beast from either Burger King or McDonald's and my Cogsworth that I got a pizza hut. Tell them there his now.

Me- no baby I lost Belle a long time ago and I'm still sad about it.

Maurice gets lost in woods/wolves chase him/he finds the castle

Toddler watches quietly while also grumbling he's hungry.

andoh gosh. adam. what were his mother's days like with his beloved mama?? and how did he feel about the day after she passed? how excited was he to celebrate with his beloved Belle when HER first rolled around ?????

i think at first, queen renée didn’t really bother with explaining the holiday to adam. she was just happy to spend time with him, whenever she could. but then one mother’s day, maybe when adam was around 5, he was spending time with his mama, and mrs. potts came in, bringing tea & snacks, and she says happy mother’s day to renée. and renée of course thanks her and they chat for a moment and then mrs. potts leaves (she says hi to adam too and asks if he is doing anything special for his mama today, but he’s still painfully shy at this point and doesn’t respond to her.) (he trusts her but he just doesn’t speak to anyone really except mama.) but after mrs. potts leaves, adam asks his mother what mother’s day is. and she explains it’s a special day to celebrate mamas. “that’s why mrs. potts asked what you were going to do for me,” she chuckles, playing with his hair. “but you are a gift every day, angel, so you don’t have to do anything more.” and adam just nods and continues playing beside her.

and for the next couple years he probably doesn’t do anything, of course just accepting what his mother said. but maybe when he’s like 8? and the day is coming up, plumette asks adam if he’s gotten a gift for his mama. and he’s like ??? why do i need to get her a gift?? and plumette’s like it’ll be so cute. i’ll find something in paris and you can give it to her, okay? and adam’s just like. Okay (doesn’t understand what’s going on.) so plumette comes back with like, some kind of shawl or gloves or something along that line. and she wraps it up all nice and then gives it to adam and tells him to give it to his mother on sunday. and he’s like okay ! ! and then he does give it to his mama and she laughs and hugs him and thanks him. and he’s like :)))) and feels super happy giving her a gift. so before long, he starts planning special gifts for christmas and her birthday in january and mother’s day !!! and his christmas and birthday gifts are very good, he coordinated with lumiere & plumette to help get him stuff, since he really didn’t leave the castle much unless he was with his father. and it’s SO GOOD!

but :( unfortunately :( um :(( she doesn’t make it to that next mother’s day, when adam is nine and a half :((( so he just. has that gift. and. :(((

he probably keeps that gift hidden under his bed for a long time. maybe forever. and i mean, idk, his whole world gets clouded in sadness when she dies, so i don’t know if mother’s day even crossed his radar half the time. and if anything or anyone Did remind him that that was coming up, or the actual day, it just added fuel to the anger festering inside him :// you know how it is! 🙃

BUT HEY OKAY !! HAPPY TIMES NOW !!

adam was soooooooo (SOOOOO!!!!!) excited to celebrate belle’s mother’s days. oh my GOSH!!!!!! as i mentioned in this post, he mostly gifts her flowers and jewelry, but in general just lets her take the lead because he really just wants her to spend all day with her babies. he just… loves his family so much… he feels SO FORTUNATE that BELLE is his children’s mother. like genuinely it blows his mind sometimes. i was imagining some mother’s day down the road, when belle has spent the day being showered with love by all her kiddos, and adam & her are now in bed and just chatting. and adam says something like “i really am just… so thankful that you’re their mother. i see the way they look at you, they hang on your every word. they love to learn from you. i hope they’re all like you when they get older.” and belle’s just so 🥹🥹🥹🥹 and is like well !!!! you know i feel the same way about you and them!!!! and adam’s like “okay well you can say all that on father’s day. for now i’m forcing you to take the compliment.” and belle gets all sjdksj !!!!!! okay!!!!!!!

also as a more somber note, adam definitely does think about his mother on later mother’s days. and there is a gravestone pillar in her rose garden behind the castle to honor her, (she’s not buried here, it’s just like a memorial that adam had installed right after his father’s death. they were like “do you want something for your father too…? since he’s the one that just… died…?” and adam was like No.) but anyway i think he and belle visit it, when he’s feeling brave enough. i’m sure back in his teen years, he had a couple bad drunk nights and wandered out to it just to feel like shit, but we don’t have time to unpack ALL of that! but no yeah that exists and belle (and maurice!) help adam kind of like. learn how to grieve. and so i could see adam visiting her memorial and laying flowers and just kind of. sitting with her. sitting with her with belle. sitting with her with his children. and it’s just. yeah 🥺

Trivia:

○ The obvious starting point for this project was Jusin Beiber's "Beauty and a Beat", which Tony and Layne had performed as part of VoicePlay's "Wow! Vol. 1" medley during the 2015 Sing-Off tour, but one song does not a full plot make. The guys delved into his extended catalogue to find songs that fit certain story beats and would blend well with the animated movie's score.

○ This was an incredibly ambtious undertaking. According to the PattyCake guys, preparations took five months, and filming spanned "six long days" (and nights, clearly).

○ All that hard work paid off, though, since they were able to time their YouTube release for the same day that the Emma Watson movie hit theaters.

○ VoicePlay recorded a Beauty and the Beast medley for "Once Upon an Ever After" (2012), their first album with Tony as a member of the group. Excerpts from that arrangement later appeared in their music videos "Be Our Guest", "Aca Top 10 – Disney Sidekicks", and "Aca Top 10 – Disney Villains". They also included "Belle" in their "Aca Top 10 – Broadway" countdown.

○ "Love Yourself" was the first song in VoicePlay's PartWork series, which they started as preparation for Tony leaving the group.

○ Layne occasionally used "Baby" as his interruption at the end of VoicePlay's "Road Trip" medley / comedy sketch.

○ On top of their usual studio work, this production required multiple location shoots:

The outdoor village scenes were filmed at the Casa Feliz museum.

Beast's castle interior was the Ballroom at Church Street, which closed in 2019, and was demolished 2023.

The tavern was an actual bar, the Tap Room at Dubsdread.

○ Between the main cast and dozens of background folks, they needed so many costumes that Tony enlisted his sister Anita to help wrangle them all.

○ There are several of Tony's fellow "Beetlejuice Revue" alumni among the main cast:

Michael (Gaston) played Dracula and Frankenstein's monster.

Joey (LaFou) played Wolfman and Dracula.

Brad (Prince Adam) was a dancer in the final "Mashup" iteration of the show.

○ There are also many friends and family among background cast and crew, including several cast members from previous Unexpected Musicals. Olivia Adkins and Leah Lowman are among the village crowd as Snow White and Cinderella. Rachel Copeland and Matthew Buckner are in the tavern crowd, but not as their previous characters. Many of the other villagers were clubgoers in "Hocus Heathens".

I just wanna say your dog has nothing on my dog. My dog is the bestest of boys.

Let me grind his nails no trouble, learned to drop his chew toys for fetch (instead of tug-o-war), and he has been SUCH a good boy since he has spent the whole day getting his haircut and washed and sprayed for his fleas.

Lmao yes my batb headcanon asks are always open, *cough* *cough* even when I go off the deep end about a different hyperfixation...

Lumiere is a soft touch. It is very easy to win him over with puppy eyes, on the rare occasion he wouldn't tell the kids yes right away.

Lum likes to be the fun parent, but he also gets a little jealous when the kids feel more comfortable going to his partners for more serious stuff instead of him. He never lets that jealousy show in front of them, but he spends a lot of time thinking about what he can do to bridge that gap.

Ok technically before he's a dad, but Lum becomes the biggest worrier ever when preparing for a baby on the way. No, he doesn't get much better after the first time.

I have more specific thoughts relating to some very very au fan kids, but this is the general stuff that I think still applies lol!

"She smells weird," Lumiere chuckled. "And she's looking at me like she's about to bite my head off."

"She's not! She likes you!" Belle laughed.
