Tashigi looking like Kuina never mattered at all
Some people still put too much importance on the fact that Tashigi looked like Kuina when she was introduced, and as a consequence they're still going on about "a missed opportunity", "Oda fumbled", "a disappointment" and so on. And of course using it to hate on Tashigi as if it's her fault.
It. Was meant. To be. A gag.
That's it. Just a gag to make stoic and badass Zoro lose his composure and be unable to fight someone for once, and to connect the two characters so that they would have a special relationship of rivalry-turned-camraderie in the future.
Zoro is acting like a child here, in case you don't remember. Tashigi is 100% right in calling him out:
Tumblr media
And then in Alabasta:
Tumblr media
Yes, this is what people would normally call a gag. Everything about these panels is comedic.
The resemblance thing wasn't even dragged out for long, because it only lasted until Alabasta, and then the next time Zoro and Tashigi met in Punk Hazard Oda specifically commented that "Zoro doesn't call Tashigi 'copycat' anymore" (source: author notes in One Piece Party 1) and the gag was dropped.
If you need more evidence that it was never meant to be anything important, this is from "Fans Chat With Oda Sensei" at Jump Festa 2008:
Tumblr media
Tashigi's arc was never meant to be connected to her resemblance to Kuina. Her personal arc goes much deeper.
Her arc is about going from someone who hated pirates and saw the world in black and white to someone whose eyes are fully open to the truth of the world, and Zoro and the Strawhats are the catalysts for that:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you can't see this character development – that was already occurring in Alabasta! – because you're still stuck at "but what about looking like Kuina???" then I don't know what to tell you. Does her (former) resemblance to another character matter more than her own character?
But also, Tashigi's arc is not over yet. So before handing out definitive judgements, maybe wait to see what the story still has in store.

Tumblr media
I always have my requests open!!! Also in so worn out so imma be slow updating:/
AiB react to short but badass reader
Tumblr media
Chishiya
Your even shorter then him lmao
He smirks
You remind him of Kuina but shorter
He'll tease you over your height even though he's only 3inches taller
Someone was starting shit with you and Chishiya and you had enough
So you went off on them and didn't let them say anything
Chishiya have his cat like smirk again and impressed that you had a sharp tongue
Ann
Doesn't think much about your height
It doesn't matter to her
Someone was trying to non consensually grope her and then you saw it and threw punches left and right and broke their face
She is immensely grateful and impressed that someone your size can even do that much damage
Arisu
He thinks it's cute
He loves how small you are
But when decked someone in the face and knocked them out he froze
He didn't expect it
He tenses up in shock
He's like 'woah uhh please don't hurt me'
Niragi
He smirks
He loves your height your just so short
He would make comments about it and called you weak
But when you toss someone over your shoulder and land them into a wall just because they talked to you wrong he was impressed and shocked
He felt his dick straining in his pants
Usagi
Another shortie!
She doesn't think much
But when you prove your a badass motherfucker despite your height
Her eyes widened
She didn't expect it
Kuina
She giggles at how short you are
You remind her of Chishiya
When someone misgendered her and you bashed their skull in
She's was like 'wow is it getting warm in here or is it just you'
She hugs you tightly

Preliminary Round: One Piece
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(The full poll will have two One Piece characters, both first and second place get in)
Propaganda below cut
Kikunojo
She’s a samurai and fights with a sword; tall trans woman <3
Legendary devoted samurai!; She's 2.87m tall, a time traveler, and not even losing an arm in the middle of the fight stopped her- she had it imediately cauterized and went back to the fight.
She's a lady samurai! Pretty and very skillful with her katana!
She is a samurai who was sent 20 years into the future to avenge the death of her lord; She’s so tall and canonically trans and I love her
She’s a badass samurai who fights for what she believes in and to help people. She is known as Kiku of lingering snow. She’s also canonically trans
She's a time traveling trans samurai, the only woman in a group of 9 legendary samurais; Her arm was chopped off by the biggest baddie so far and she continued fighting, isn't that badass?
One of the strongest samurai in her country; She's a trans icon
She is a samurai and a retainer for the Kozuki Family, serving as one of the Nine Red Scabbards, a group of samurai that protect the Kozuki family and their country. She's a very skillful samurai, and she and her group managed to delay and hold off the main villain of the arc, (which was an almost insurmountable task for even the main character) and survived the experience despite her horrible injuries.; She's canonically and openly trans! And she's gorgeous. And huge... She's 287 cm tall, which for the USAmericans in the audience is 9' 5". She's simply the coolest.
Listen I'll be real with you I haven't read/watched far enough to get to her in the story, but I've heard of her and she's cool. She's canonically trans and she uses a sword
Tashigi
One of the strongest swordswomen in the Marines.; She is like if Velma from Scooby Doo had a sword.
She’s a captain in the Marines who’s main goal is to find all the famous swords in the world and prevent pirates from using them for evil
she is a HUGE sword nerd. her introduction basically has her info-dumping on rare swords and being adorable. also a little pathetic but she’s trying her best and she deserves the world (and also a win)
Tashigi stands for justice as a Marine. She’s one of the few female swordswomen in One Piece. The biggest sword nerd you’ll ever meet, she’s obsessed with collecting rare swords.; She is the greatest weakness of the to-be strongest swordsman of the world.
Wants to find the legendary blades so they don’t fall into the hands of bad people
She is part of the marines, which are basically cops in the one piece universe which is :(. She is skilled enough to be a captain of a ship. She's a major sword nerd as she loves them supremely, to the point where official accounts shorten her name and signature to sword if I'm remembering correctly. Her goal is to find and collect all legendary swords and to keep them out of criminals hands. She is stated to have the demeanor and honor of a samurai, which shows how deep being a swordsman is to her character. She tries to fight against misogyny and prove her worth, even when people underestimate her.
Kuina
She was the best swordsman at her dojo even though she was only like 13. She and her best friend promised to become the greatest swordsman in the world one day, and she would have if she didn’t trip down some stairs and die young
She aimed to be the best swordsman but tragically died as a kid, becoming the drive of Zoro, one of the main characters
All she wanted was to be one a great swordsman but even though she was great everyone looked down on her for being a woman
She grew up with her father as the master of a dojo. She wanted to be a swordsman despite her father and others discouraging her because she's a woman and therefore weaker. She trained hard enough that she was the strongest in the entire dojo at age 12. Unfortunately she died by falling down stairs
Rebecca
She’s a former princess/gladiator fighting for her life in the colosseum on Dressrosa. Her family had a policy of non-violence, so while she has a sword and uses it well, she never attacks, only defends, and still wins every fight
Rebecca is a princess of the Kingdom of Dressrosa. Her kingdom was taken over by a warlord, and one of this warlords minions has the ability to turn people into toys and everyone forgets about the people who turned into toys. This happened to Rebecca's father, a former gladiator, who turned into a toy soldier. The toy soldier taught Rebecca how to fight with a sword, but in a way that wouldn't hurt anyone and she could still protect herself (because he didn't want her to stain her hands with blood like he'd done). Once people found out that she was the daughter of the king (who was literally used by the warlod like a puppet, because he has string powers), she was locked inside the colosseum of Dressrosa where she had to fight to survive. And she continued to fight exactly like the toy soldier had taught her, while the people in the audience verbally insulted her.
Amande
https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/powerlisting/images/a/ae/Amande-slices-kingbaum.gif/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/250?cb=20180512173133 (If that doesn’t work, look up Charlotte Amande cuts kingbaum gif) anyway she’s tall and slices s l o w.
Lola
She carries 2 swords. Honestly she's not going to make it because she's such a minor character but I like her :) so I'm adding a submission she values her friends and takes debts and promises seriously, willing to put her life on the line and die with the people she stakes her fate on if they lose

"OPLA Zoro is too edgy" "OPLA Zoro isn't goofy enough" "What did the actor do Zoro laughs way more often"
DUDE. OPLA Zoro is perfect the way he is.
First, EVERYONE isn't as goofy and hilarious as in the manga. Because the manga is a manga. How is an existing real person supposed to act in a cartoonish manner. With the shark teeth and all or what did people expect?? That's just dumb. Also, the tone of the whole show is just different. Buggy's character? Khaladore? Way darker, completely different vibe. Cartoonish jokes and scenes just don't fit in and would even ruin shows vibe imo. Actually there mare many jokes and funny moments in the show, many of which include Zoro, sorry if you've missed them. He's a certified deadpan snarker and a hilarious dumbass with zero self-awareness how is that not funny? Because he doesn't get into Luffy's face after the boy accidentally punches him in the jaw? Oh wait, OPLA Luffy doesn't do that, too? Getting the point now?
What people seem to confuse Zoro's edginess with is an obscenely high self-confidence and Zoro's act of "I'm good enough to beat Mihawk" attitude. Dude thinks he's way better than he actually is. He thinks he's cool and badass with his constant crossing his arms and only rarely cracking a smile and he can't both smile and act tough bc his single brain cell is just not capable of doing that. It's tough guy act, that's what it is. Zoro wants to create that reputation and image of himself so he's either feared or idolised with literally nothing in between. He doesn't have time to deal with small-time fodder, that doesn't do anything to achieve his goal. He wants to be recognised by the bigger fish in the pond. That's why he never fights weaker enemies seriously, he thinks he wastes his talent on them. That guy acts as if he's got the biggest nuts on earth and he needs that attitude to create that reputation of himself and to prove that he's not afraid of anyone. Zoro does have emotions and OPLA Zoro does too, they both simply decide when to show them and for whom. It's called stoicism my guys. Comes from years of kendo training and Buddhism practice probably.
What edgy stoic (OPLA) Zoro also is, is traumatised. The live action carefully made sure to portray that in a way so even the dullest person would get that. Kuina's death still haunts Zoro and their promise weighs him down the same way it drives him forward. He's got the sole responsibility for achieving it, it lies on his shoulders alone. He's afraid to let her down, now that it's on him to achieve that goal for the both of them. He can't afford to lose, he can't afford to die. If he dies, their dream will be lost forever. That's what he tells Mihawk, that's why he fights Mihawk so desperately, so vigorously. He's trauma-driven. Mackenyu's performance was awesome in that scene. You can feel Zoro's despair when he throws in all of his strength into his blows, only to be dodged by Mihawk so effortlessly. Mackenyu's got the character of Zoro down perfectly. The "edginess" comes from the tough guy act, and don't forget... Zoro was a lone wolf before he met Luffy. Zoro didn't have friends. Zoro doesn't want to have friends. Zoro's afraid someone will get close to him again, he doesn't want to go through the pain of losing a person he loves ever again. That's why he tries to come across as unsympathetic and unapproachable. Remember when early years Zoro sat by himself often while the others were joking around? Zoro doesn't want them to befriend him and he doesn't want to like them, or even get the chance to possibly like them. Probably also has a "you can't be friends with your captain / crewmates" policy idk. Due to his own understanding of pirates bc what does he know?
Manga Zoro needed time to open up and let it happen that these idiots will become his friends. He's been on his own for so long that he's probably uncomfortable with being among others 24/7 too. He's not used to it. He's clumsy and let's not forget he's also a dumbass. He doesn't get why people don't act and think the same way he does. Because he's a dumbass. With zero self-awareness. Or what else would you call it if someone who's directionally challenged gives someone else directions like it's the most normal thing in the world, with a completely straight face even?
Zoro's not edgy, he dumb, and he's literally the only person who's not aware of this.
He's also hot but that wasn't what I was trying to get at bc that should be self explanatory anyway
Thank you if you made it this far and thanks for coming to my TED talk

Chishiya X Reader | New Era
WARNING: Spoilers, curse words & mention of weapons!
Author's Note: Thank you so much for your support and reblogs, as always! I see and appreciate each one of you! This is a PART OF A SERIES so people who are just reading this one post for the first time might not understand the context please read the parts linked below.
Part 1 | ... | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7
Tumblr media
He opened the door and it was Kuina. "They have been asking for you." She pointed to Aguni who was heading towards Hatter's meeting room.
He looked back at you as you sat up on the bed. "You both stay here." He said with a serious expression. It was rare that he was this serious and looked concerned. You knew something was wrong. Your mind raced in so many places. What if this was all because of what happened earlier? What if Aguni was against this all?
Before you can go deeper into your thoughts Kunia sat beside you with a jump and said, "Spill". You looked at her confused and then realized what she was talking about. You could feel the blood rushing to your face as you turned your face away from her. "You both fucked didn't you!" she said as she tried jumping in front of your face. "NO! I mean we almost went for it but then you came" it came out as a complaint.
"No way... am I... am I the problem?" she said trying to mimic the TikTok audio that was trending before you came to Borderland. You both laughed, this is what you loved about her. She can be a badass at the same time act like this, which kind of grounds you to the fact that you don't always have to be tense even in Borderlands.
But what tensed you and her right now is what could be happening there in the meeting hall.
~In the meeting hall~
As Chishiya entered the hall he was nervous himself but when he saw Hatter's body he was a bit happy. Which soon turned into a concern because this would mean that Aguni will take over. "I think No.2 should take over," Mira said adding to the conversation that they were having before Chishiya arrived.
Mostly everyone backed her up except Niragi. Of course, he had to. He wanted Aguni to be the next leader. Of course. Even after having the majority with No. 2 being the next leader he turned the odds with force as a gun was pointed at everyone's head and with that devilish smirk of his.
When it came to Chishiya it was as if he was threatening him, not even asking him to vote for Aguni. Chishiya obviously obliged as he put both his arms up with a smile. "Should have brought your little bitch here too. I'd love to see HER next to my baby (his gun)" he whispered as he walked away from Chishiya who then looked at Aguni.
Aguni was deep in thought. Chishiya knew he killed Hatter. BUT he kept silent.
~Back from there~
When he came back to his room, both Kuina and you were fast asleep on his bed.
You had your gossip session with her and told her everything, then you both talked about your lives back in the real world and ended up falling asleep while talking.
He smiled to himself, "Rest up you two." he said as he pulled the covers over on you two and slept on the couch. He knew what was coming is not going to be easy.
You woke up with a jerk, you had a nightmare. These nightmares were the new normal for you since every other day something happens that you never thought of in your wildest dreams, that you'll witness.
To your surprise Chishiya was up already he must have made himself some tea and was walking out to his balcony. It was dawn. You didn't know he was an early riser. As much as you wanted to go back to sleep you wanted to talk to him. It was like something changed and now you just openly want to spend time with him.
You followed him, "Good Morning," You said sitting down on the floor next to him. To your surprise, he pulled you in and kissed you gently, and said oh-so-softly "Good Morning." You just were a shy mess to which he smiled as he pulled you closer.
You were so happy that this was okay to do all this because you wanted this SO BAD! "Comfort" was a long-lost dream of yours. Yes, materialistic comfort was obviously there because in a way the whole city was yours but this sort of comfort was what you were craving.
When you woke up the first thing that came to your mind was, "Hmm I want to see him... it'll be nice if I can get a kiss as well... or maybe moreee SHUT UP Y/N you don't even know what happened in the meeting last night plus what if it was a one-time thing for him." THEN you saw him walking out.
You both spent the next hour in comfortable silence as he shared his tea with you and your head resting on his shoulder. You could tell that he tensed up and soon he got used to it as well.
He then told you that this was all new to him. He has been with women but never had these feelings and how he hated but at the same time loved how unpredictable these feelings are! It has always been just to fulfill their physical needs.
He didn't dare to say anything as I like you or I LOVE YOU. He knew how you always say what you meant so you always put so much weight on these feelings. He cannot say it unless he KNOWS that he ACTUALLY feels like this.
"Having a tea party without me?" Kuina said coming from the room and rubbing her eyes. You giggled and gave her the rest of the tea even though it was cold now the sharing meant everything right.
"So what is the plan for today? We're actually doing it or not?" She asked Chishiya. "Doing what?" you butt in because he always involves you in everything they did.
You could see that Kuina made a mistake by asking this in front of you. "You'll know soon enough," Chishiya said not making any eye contact with you.
It triggered your survival instinct and your mind went straight to the fact that this is CHISHIYA after all. What if your views about him were correct? What if you were actually JUST A PAWN?
Part 1 | ... | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7

Can I get Kuina and Ann with a insecure reader feel free to do whatever you want with this idea, thank you <3
Not a big fan of this but it’s been a while since I posted and I’ve been ‘writing’ it for like two weeks. Hopefully this isn’t formatted horribly as I’m posting from my phone at work.
Fem!reader
Tumblr media
It was hard for YN not to feel insecure when she was with Kuina and Ann, both of them were strong women and YN couldn’t help but compare herself to them and how could she not?
Ann was formidable, seemingly unbreakable always in control and always had some sort of plan as a backup. She was a strong, intelligent woman and YN felt both insecure and starry-eyed whenever they were around each other.
Kuina was a badass in every conceivable way, a bikini top and wedges didn’t stop her from kicking ass. Not only could Kuina beat someone's ass, she also had a heart of gold, always trying to help others and lending a hand if needed.
As they left the playing grounds of the Queen of Clubs after defeating it, YN trailed behind Ann and Kuina, feeling the worst she had felt for a while. Insecurity was slowly starting to suffocate YN, her stuttered breaths caught the attention of Ann who glanced over her shoulder and caught the sight of YN stumbling behind them.
Ann paused in her steps and dragged her eyes over YN, “What’s wrong with you?”
Kuina turns around at Ann’s words and watches YN curiously. “You okay?”
YN nods, “Exhausted.”
Kuina nods in understanding before turning back around and continuing to walk but Ann keeps her eyes on YN.
She lets Kuina walk a few steps forward to create some space before dropping her pace so that she can walk alongside YN. She didn’t say anything, giving YN the space to talk if she wanted to and allowing her to breathe.
They walked in silence for another before they found a quiet place to rest for the night. They had a massive family sized tent that they shared, it gave them enough space to share the space comfortably.
YN was sandwiched between them as they got in for the night, staring up at the ceiling of the tent.
“How do you do it?” YN finally said what was on her mind
“Huh?” Kuian turns her head slightly to look at YN
“Survive all of this. The never ending games and death, it doesn’t seem to affect either of you.”
There’s a brief pause of silence before Ann speaks up, “That’s not true… I hate participating in these games, I hate them but I want to go home more than everything.”
“So you just push through it? Don’t you ever get tired?”
“I do but giving up means death”
“You’re braver than I am. I don’t think I could survive all of this without you”
Ann sends a gentle smile her way, “I think you could”
YN nods at that and turns to Kuina, “What about you?”
“I feel as if I have something to prove, even though I don’t. If I can survive this, I can survive anything…”
“You’re so strong Kuina, how many games have you cleared in those wedges?” YN praises her
Kuina breaks out in a grin, “I know right? Too bad it messed up my pedicure.”
“You survived these games before you joined The Beach and when we got separated for the second stage. You should stop underestimating yourself, it’ll get you killed”
Ann spoke up, eyes trained on YN
“It’s not that easy” YN sighs
“Of course it’s not but we believe you, and you should too”
“Okay, okay but you two promise that we’ll still be friends once we get back to the real world?”
Kuina smiled that sunny smile of hers that lit up a room, “Of course! Why wouldn’t we?”
Kuina and YN turned to Ann who couldn’t stop the small grin from forming on her lips, “I suppose we can”

I really really loved your reframing of the nothing happened scene, I didn't watch the anime but I agree the music choice wasn't right for the scene. I feel like they probably should've left it without music so that we'd feel more uncomfortable or maybe used a more unsettling or tragic music.
Something in this video that I found similar to your first zoro video and which I really liked was the pointing out the fandoms tendency of only framing zoros scenes as badass or cool while ignoring that perhaps we should be feeling... a bit concerned for zoro?? He's always pushing himself to such extremes and shouldering so much and seeing people exclusively framing this as badass feels a bit weird.
TL;DR I love your zoro videos and I really wanna see zoro break down and cry at some point that boy deserves a good cry
Zoro is a character I love so much because he really holds a lot on his shoulders, and a lot of his desperation for strength and control comes from him DESPERATELY wanting it, due to Kuina's death being totally out of HIS control. He clearly sees strength as more than just a way to reach his dreams, but as a way to protect the people he loves. Which is why watching him put his life on the line all the time ... there's just so much to it. I truly feel a fear in Zoro that I never really saw talked about much because, as you said, his coolness is focused on WAY more.
Even in Wano it's there. Yes, he was super cool against king. But then he sees death?? He yells at the grim reaper it's not his time yet, he's not dying yet, and he seems afraid?? I don't think Zoro's afraid of death specifically, but with his death comes not reaching his dreams, comes being unable to protect his loved ones, and THAT'S where the fear comes from.
Zoro is such a good character when you truly see how...I suppose on edge he always seems to be due to what he's been through lol.
And thank you so much! I also wanna see Zoro break down HAHA

The One Piece Live Action and my opinions on it.
I thought it was cute tbh. The way they showed Luffy’s backstory in little glimpses, how they made Zoro to look like a scary badass(in a way), the foreshadowing of Alabasta-ish, Koby being absolutely perfect, and how they did Nani’s character! And when they did Orange Town and we got to see more Devil Fruit powersss! And Buggy! It was so cool!!! And when we meet Usopp and Kaya(and Kuro), THEY KISSED!- I can’t, thank you Oda. I’m not even gonna lie to you, Kuro was giving out mad “come out come out wherever you are~” vibes. THE MERRY 😭😭 my babyy.. wait! We can’t forget about Zoro’s backstory! KUINA WAS PERFECT- Young Zoro looks like a teenager and I kinda prefer it that way because it shows that he matured. (I’m not even gonna lie to you guys, I was predicting what Kuina and Zoro were gonna say because yes.) Now.. now.. Baratie! Sanji! MIHAWK ❤️ ZEFF! I think Baratie was my favorite part.. I think.. Nami and Zoro’s drinking game.. Usopp being Usopp, and Luffy being the most open minded sunshine ever. Zeff was giving off MAJOR Gordon Ramsey vibes(they could be each other, just in a different universe.) Sanji.. I like how they didn’t over exaggerate his lovey dovey personality and just made it into a flirty and love eyes type of thing. ALSO IM NOT FORGETTING ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO- Usopp’s nose and Sanji’s eyebrow.. You know.. I think I can rock with it. It felt like, if Oda added it, it would’ve been like cosplay. And we gotta make it like, REAL.
Ughhhh, it’s like perfect in its own way!
(I’ll make a part two about Arlong Park, don’t worry.)

EPISODE 5: Scooby and the Gang meet Dracula the Straw Hats versus Dracule aka 'new trauma boy has entered the chat'
my episode 4 coverage
Luffy's childhood pirate flag was better than the one he made last episode
Also it's so weird to show Luffy and Garp together when Luffy is young bc we just saw him free range childhood-ing at that bar. Where was Garp then??
Koby saving Helmeppo = the start of a beautiful friendship
"youre his first mate" now that I know that was never confirmed in canon, this line is 1000% funnier
Ok does Luffy know how navigation works? That scene with Garp implies he might have had some training, but I wouldn't put it past him to only have food-motivated navigational skills
Sanji's introduction is as good as Zoro's. The added bonus of them having tuned down his horrific flirting to something far more palatable is just *chef's kiss*
Everyone teasing Nami about Sanji's flirting (well, Luffy laughs along but clearly has no idea what's going on) is iconic
Mihawk. Dracule Mihawk. Is it a complete waste to have Don Krieg there as canon fodder? Absolutely. But you cannot deny how fucking badass Mihawk is. Note that he refers to Don Krieg's gun thing as a "final gambit" implies that everyone in this world thinks in terms of finishing moves.
"little eggplant" is such an adorable nickname for Sanji. Zeff & Sanji's relationship is so dysfunctional - I want to love it, but they're just so fucked up, I can't judge
Poor Koby, learning that the world is full of hypocrites. Soft boy. Helmeppo just wants to pat his head and hide him from the mean mean world
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I love Sanji's accent. I like that it separates him from everyone around him, but doesn't go the stereotypical 'chefs are French' route
I'm sad we don't get real Gin. He was a very cool, very complicated. Both me and Sanji are sad about his loss
Also Zoro clearly spews bullshit about Nami so she'll contradict him, revealing more than she would have told him otherwise. Like Nami, you are being played. Zoro isn't even particularly good at it, you're just not at your best right now
Zoro's "I had one friend" - dude, you and Kuina were friends for less than 24hrs.
Between Garp and Luffy, it's clear who got all the cunning in the family. Also Garp's "I want the freedom to handle things how I like" is suuuuuch a douchebag line. Suuuch scum. I take back everything I've said about liking Garp, he is clearly just a 'doesnt play by the rules' cop from a TV drama.
I like that Zoro meets Mihawk super early on in the story. Like, we need to see him be totally wrecked. Zoro needs to experience being totally unprepared for what it's going to really take to achieve his goal. Poor Zoro is here thinking "it's too soon. I didn't think I would meet him so soon" and we get to see he has the potential for greatness, but is clearly still at the beginning of his journey. Did you really think you'd be the greatest swordsman before you hit 20?
Also Zoro's "you said it yourself, you don't have any friends" to Nami is such a dick move? But also a well deserved 'fuck you' to Nami for trying to play aloof rather than accepting the vulnerability that comes with actual friendship. I get why she's conflicted and upset, but I can't help but disagree with her attitude in this part of the series. Like I love her, but she's just enough of a hypocrite to piss me off
Of course Mihawk likes the hat, Luffy. His weird friend/rival/ex-husband had a hat just like that
I love sword fights a lot, but the one between Mihawk and Zoro is painful to watch. It's the fight with Kuina again, and one again Zoro refuses to see that he doesn't have to be the best right now
However I love how Mihawk looks at Zoro though - like a prey animal surveying a particularly interesting bug.
Aaaand when it comes down to it, Luffy never even considered the possibility that Zoro would lose. And Zoro sounds like such a child for once when he makes his vow. Gah. What an ending

Do you mind if I ask your top 10 favorite characters (can be male or female) from all of the media that you loved (can be anime/manga, books, movies or tv series)? And why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before.....Thanks...
I have, but luckily I enjoy gushing about some of my favorite characters aksjdklkgl so I'm happy to answer again! Last time I just listed some but this time I'll 1. Do a limit of one per series and 2. Give an actual description of why I love them. Also I'm so sorry this will be mostly animanga characters just because these characters stick in my head easier for some reason? My memory is truly awwwwful. (Also also this is by no means a definitive list or order, just some that I really really like).
Zoro (One Piece)
I feel like I've talked a fair length about Sanji and Robin and why I love them so much, but I have a little bit of a difficult time with Zoro. Fun fact before I started watching one of the few things I knew was that he was a fan favorite an was determined that I wouldn't like him that much, he's the "cool and badass and broody" one and I thought he was gonna be the kind of character similar to Megumi (JJK) or maybe Bakugou (MHA) both who I like but it's not favorite archetype. But then I realized. He's just a Guy. a Silly Guy. My man is stupid in such interesting and unique ways ajfdklsl. But what I REALLY love about his character is , yeah, he is kind of broody and reserved, but it seems more like a burden he puts on himself in order to protect the people he loves rather than a true reflection of himself. He cares SO much about the people that he loves and it's clear to me that his greatest fear is not being strong enough to protect them. His "I need to get stronger" attitude honestly seems to stem a looot from his anxieties and maybe even trauma around losing Kuina at such a young age. Ok I could talk forever about him and it's actually not difficult to pin down why I love him but I'll end it there.
2. Kenjaku (JJK)
I've kind of built a bubble within my online presence where I don't really see the vitriol, but I know this is REALLY not a popular opinion, and a lot of people are confused as to why I really like them (biggest offender is my sister who gives me shit for this constantly lmao). And I get it! Kenjaku is genuinely vile in what they have done (particularly as Kamo Noritoshi) and what they're trying to do with the merger. By all means he shouldn't (isn't) supposed to be likeable. But they REALLY captured my attention when I caught up to JJK back in August and read the Culling Games arc in full. For starters, silly guy, and I love silly guys (see above example). They're pretty unique where they fall into this "mad yet cold scientist" trope but...they're playful? They're genuinely excited about sorcery and will be kind of annoying where, for the life of them, they CANNOT read the room that everyone just doesn't care or actively hates them (which makes me a little sad honestly lol)? Little bits of information were just constantly intriguing (their relationship to Tengen, being a foil to Yuki, and not to even start on them being Yuji's mom). What really cemented it for me was the Takaba vs. Kenjaku fight though. Kenjaku before this seems driven to keep going for scientific curiosity, but it's clear to me that they're bored, disappointed, and even seem depressed a little bit ("And yet...there must be more to human potential"). But then Takaba comes along. And they honestly have an instant connection while also pushing each other in ways nobody has before. Isn't that insane on Kenjaku's part? They've been alive for over 1000 years!! They find someone who understands them, they might be enemies but they are a duo. Gahhh I could talk about Kenjaku forever they have so many layers and they just fascinate me SO much.
3. Yona (Yona of the Dawn)
One of my favorite protagonists of all time, without a doubt. And I didn't even like her in the beginning (you're not supposed to really). At the beginning of the series, she's honest to god, a spoiled brat. She whines, she complains, she's incredibly weak and takes people for granted. But good god, this is one of the best character arcs I have ever seen in my life. When her entire world is thrown upside down and she's betrayed by her childhood best friend, and has to go on the run with Hak, she just matures and grows into herself so beautifully. She travels around her kingdom for the first time and sees the complexity of the situation where, yeah, she lost her father because of Soo-Won, and that hurts still, but she understands why because it becomes kind of clear that her father was pretty incompetent as a ruler. If I picked one character on this list that just has the best character development, Yona sweeps I'm sorry.
4. Killua (HxH)
Ugh this really should be both Gon and Killua but if I had to choose one it's Killua. Another great example of amazing character development. At the beginning he's already a fun character to watch, he's easygoing and quippy and just cool honestly. But with his upbringing as an assassin he's clearly not very...well adjusted to what a normal life looks like. He's raised to be a cold and ruthless killer and nothing more, and that's reflected in the Hunter exam arc when he swipes a guy's heart from his chest without a second thought. But then he meets Gon, and for the first time in his life he gets to just be a normal 12 year old boy? And as he goes on this adventure you can just see him become more human to the point he can't ever return to how he was at the beginning of the series. And to have that parallel with Gon (particularly in the Chimera Ant arc) where Gon is losing his humanity while Killua gains it?? UGH I want to give this kid a hug so bad I love him.
5. Riza Hawkeye (FMA)
On this list because she sent me into my first gay panic (at least, the first one I was consciously aware of LMAO). God, what a woman. She is incredibly hot but I do love her character as well. It's hard to talk about her without also talking about Roy (and vice versa) because they are just SO intertwined, but god if there were ever soulmates, it's maybe them. Just the level of respect and trust they have in each other is unlike anything I've ever seen, where they both are so haunted by their pasts but they keep each other going and are able to so easily rely on each other? Ugh they're just so amazing, and with Riza seeing how strong she is where her own father uses her to protect flame alchemy, and her just 100% trust in Roy to burn the tattoo?? Wowowowowow she just. She changed me.
6. Anatole (The Great Comet of 1812/War and Peace)
Ok so um. My big secret is that I'm a Musical person. I really don't talk about it much here lmao, but when I tell you I was like. Obsessed with the musical The Great Comet of 1812 for a solid two years that's no joke. Which is just. If you don't know a musical that adapts about 90 pages from the novel War and Peace (stick with me here). And my even bigger secret is that I'm obsessed with Anatole, who is the villain/antagonist. Um he's not even particularly deep I don't think, he just sucks. But he captured my heart by being a silly guy. This man is an arrogant piece of shit man but also kind of a coward, and him singing the line "Just as a duck is made to swim in water, God has made me as I am" to justify him cheating, I-...it changed something in me. Never before or after have I wanted to dissect a character's brain so much in my life. He's maybe the first silly villain that I just really loved lmao, maybe there's a Anatole -> Kenjaku pipeline (this pipeline only exists for me and no one else in this world).
7. Toph (Avatar the Last Airbender)
God choosing between Zuko and Toph was difficult for this entry, but I want to talk about Toph lmao. Just. What a unique and refreshing female character where I still think her writing is ahead of it's time. Just on the surface she's so fucking cool right. What an introduction where she's soloing all these musclehead earthbenders and putting grown men into the dirt. And such good representation of a disabled character where she's clearly not incapable and the things she can do well, she does really really well! But she is faced with the reality of needing help sometimes and she's not ashamed to ask for it, and I think there's this really good balance struck with her character between these two factors. I think she also just blends into the gaang seamlessly while also challenging them in new ways, and vice versa, and they really don't seem complete without her.
8. Eurydice (Hadestown)
Ok oooonnnnneee more musical character and this is definitely more justified lmao. Another big secret is that I love Greek mythology, was obsessed with it as a kid and still am. And Hadestown twisting the Orpheus and Eurydice story into this grim early 20th century industrialist/capitalist setting with jazz elements?? I'm a history major I'm such a BIG nerd for shit like this, and this is the best iteration of Eurydice to me. In the original myth, she gets sent to the underworld because a snake bites her, there isn't any agency to it, it's just bad luck essentially. In the musical, she CHOOSES to go down with Hades to the underworld, and that small thing does wonders for her character. She obviously loves Orpheus, but the fact is, she's going hungry and growing cold, and where before she would run away, she stayed for her love of Orpheus. And then Hades slips in to offer her food and shelter for the exchange of labor, and she leaves to the underworld, not realizing the colossal mistake she just made. She's such a flawed character but you understand why she makes the mistakes she does, and her character is just so incredibly human.
9. Mob (Mob Psycho 100)
This kiiiiiiid. God I love him. Apologies to Gojo but this is just the best instance of an "OP" character. This kid has busted ass psychic powers, powers that people literally worship. Unfortunately this doesn't save him from any of the horrors that middle school presents. He can't talk to his crush, he kinda sucks at sports, and he has little to no social skills. And on top of that he feels the need to suppress his emotions due to the consequences of his powers? GAHHH I just think Mob is maybe one of the relatable characters ever, you can be the best at something but that doesn't save you from the growing pains that being a teenager presents! And just his journey of self acceptance and kindness and love is so heartwarming to see, the way he resolves his insecurities throughout the series just healed something in me too.
10. Sophie Hatter (Howl's Moving Castle)
HMC isn't even my all time favorite Ghibli movie (top 3 though), but it's certainly the one I've gone back to the most and that's in large part due to Sophie. At the beginning of the movie, she certainly isn't in a bad place in life but there is this...melancholy? sadness? to her where it seems life is more happening to her and she has zero self esteem. When the curse is placed on her and then we can literally see her character journey and the ups and downs being reflected in her appearance, it's just so unique and realistic. It's so satisfying to see her start to actually live her life, to gain confidence in all of her various states, and how she helps both her new found family and how they help her as well. Another character where her development is just unmatched.
Thank you for sending this ask, I had a lot of fun rambling here <3

😳 I can't wait~
-Kuina
SEND 😳 FOR SOMETHING MY MUSE FINDS ATTRACTIVE ABOUT YOUR MUSE.
Is nothing an option~? No?
Well.. I guess the time has finally come for me to be completely open and honest about you which is going to be rather difficult considering you know that I just love to infuriate you and push your buttons.
It’s my favourite past time. Alas..
What do I find attractive about you? Truth is, there isn’t just one thing that I find attractive. But let’s start off with psychical attraction. Those doe-eyes of yours. They’re a shade of mahogany I’ve never quite seen before.. dark, but gentle. Tough but tender kind of like yourself. Then there’s your smile; goofy, cheesy.. and yet somewhat incredibly charming and pleasing to the eye. It could light up a room. Last but not least.. your hair. As much as I tease you that your dreadlocks look like worms, I think you make them look, as you say.. badass.
Next is your personality. I find it attractive that you’re unapologetically yourself, not caring what others around you think, not even myself. I like how you make everyone feel welcome. You’ve got a kind heart even if it can lead you to do some very stupid things at times.. but luckily I’m always there to save you from being too naive. And have I mentioned your temper tantrums and crazy mood swings? While other people may find them intimidating, it’s rather.. alluring if I do say so myself.
Hmph, I seem to have gotten a little carried away with this confession of mine. But don’t let any of this go to your head. Your ego has already been stroked enough.
Now excuse me while I go hide in my room and reflect on life and regret my decision.

Atypical friendships: Lisa-Niragi
Notes:  Okay, remember that in Lisa’s game out of all the players she could’ve chosen to be the ONLY person who’d die after it ended, she chose a seven-year old kid. Tell me that’s not something Niragi would do. Also, creating a game where she’d have her own team of people to command? Also something I’d see Niragi doing. These two would be best friends fr. I’m tagging @niragi-of-bitches as Niragi so they can tell me how many I got right!
If you want to see the other parts of ‘atypical friendships’, look under this tag in my blog. So far, I’ve got Kuina-Kuzuryuu, Chishiya-Usagi, Ann-Aguni and Yaba-Mira.
- If she’d been at the Beach the militants would’ve been 10 times scarier, because Aguni might have been able to control Last Boss and Niragi, but he sure as hell wouldn’t have been able to control Lisa. She’d do whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted.
- More often than not, this means toying with people. This girl already knew who Arisu was BEFORE he appeared in her game, so you bet she knows absolutely every piece of gossip circulating the Beach, and uses it to break friendships and relationships alike just because she’s bored.
-Niragi deeply admires her, but he would never say it out loud. The most he’d say is: ‘Your skill set is being wasted on these idiots. If you and I joined forces…’ And she’d reply: ‘Then my skillset would be wasted on another idiot’
-The pure definition of competitiveness. They always have to be one-upping each other. Remember the game where for every animal you killed you got a certain amount of points? They were LIVING it. Niragi ended up winning but Lisa was unphased. ‘I won by a twenty point margin’. ‘And with a gun! How cute of you’
-They’d tear up the dance floor at the Beach’s nightclub. The only day the residents of the Beach know peace are the days where they’re off in a game. The rest of the nights they’re the first to arrive and the last to leave, and there’s always an incident for which they’re directly to blame. Lisa will never let Niragi and Last Boss forget that she can pull more girls than both of them combined.
-Lisa taught Niragi how to do his eyeliner, after she did it on him one night while they were both drunk and Niragi decided it looked badass.
-Even though they continually tease each other, they would NEVER underestimate the other. Lisa knows Niragi is actually pretty smart, and if they’re ever in a diamonds game together, she delegates the decision-making to him. If any other player makes a comment on how they think Niragi is wrong, Lisa immediately shuts them up with a fist to their face. She trusts Niragi’s skills enough to know he’ll find the solution. And he always does.
-They would never judge each other. They know that, at their core, they want the same thing: freedom to do as they please. They both share that slight sadistic tinge, that desire to be above others and mess with them as they see fit (again, Lisa choosing THE KID AS THE ONLY PERSON WHO COULD DIE IN HER GAME). So, in a way, even if they’ve never said it out loud, they understand each other.
-Imagine them spending lazy days together at the Beach, with Last Boss too. Lisa and Last Boss sparring while Niragi practices his aim with the rifle. Wolfing down the food at lunch and going to the pool to mess with whoever’s there over a few cocktails (Last Boss doesn’t like drinking, Lisa likes daiquiris, and Niragi claims he doesn’t drink ‘girly drinks’ and orders a Bloody Mary even as he enviously eyes Lisa’s daiquiri and takes a few sips when she isn’t looking). Lisa laughing her ass off every time Last Boss and Niragi are pulled out of the fun because they have yet another executive meeting to attend and she can continue lounging by the pool. Crazy nights they only ever end up remembering half of, blurry scenes of someone saying ‘Lisa’s on the first floor and she’s going to jump to the pool!’ And Niragi and Last Boss simultaneously yelling ‘DO A BACKFLIP’ (she does two and they’re howling and cheering the entire time). The three of them feeling like they’re unstoppable together, without knowing one of them holds a terrible secret.
-Unlike Kuzuryuu and Mira, Lisa would stay during the Ten of Hearts, helping with the massacre, and leave only after it’s finished. She’d wait at first, watching all the chaos spread, and then join in the fun.
-Lisa runs to Last Boss but she’s unable to save him after the Ten of Hearts. However, she does manage to pull Niragi out of the Beach before the fire consumes him. She drops him somewhere safe before she has to leave with Mira and Kuzuryuu to prepare for the second stage.
-After Niragi wakes up alone somewhere far from the Beach, he can more or less piece in his head what happened to get him there. And after Mira shows she’s one of the game masters, he can guess where Lisa is too. It... affects him. It’s not something he simply shrugs off.
-He doesn’t go to the Queen of Spades because he’s in no state to take out Lisa, and frankly, even if he doesn’t want to admit it, he doesn’t want to either. On the other hand, Lisa took into account that Niragi could decide to try out her game, and, well. That might’ve influenced her decision to make her game have teams. They could’ve been on the same side one last time, chasing down others like they were still at the Beach messing with people by the pool.

Kuina, my love, my wife (along with ann) I love her so much oml
Tumblr media
"Hey chishiya, have you seen kuina?" I asked the blonde male. Me and kuina became very close after our first game together, we were the only survivors and it was my first game
She comforted me afterwards since I was in shock. She took me to the beach and hatter explained the rules, I've been here for 2 months now
In the time of me being here I've met chishiya and became close friends with both kuina and him, well maybe allies with chishiya but that's fine with me
I slowly developed a sort of crush on kuina. At first I thought she was pretty and badass but I didn't realize my feelings until it was too late, I've fallen for her
"She went dancing over there" he pointed to the crowd and I nodded in a thank you
I walked through the dancing bodies until my eyes caught a girl with braided hair swaying to the music
"Kuina!" I shouted over the music. She turned to the voice and smiled once she saw me. Kuina grabbed my hands and swayed them to the music
"Dance with me!" She shouted. I chuckled and smiled at her
"Alright!" I started swaying to the beat with her. She grabbed my hips and brought me closer to her. I blushed a bit but tried to hide it
I wrapped my hands around her neck in an attempt to make a move but not be too obvious. She grinned down at me and leaned to my ear
"Wanna go hang out somewhere quiet?" She asked. I blushed a bit more and nodded. She grabbed my hand and started walking inside the hotel
"So where are we going?" I questioned. She still held my hand after we were in a secluded area
"Well it is someplace quiet. I learned about this place because of chishiya so don't tell him ok?" She looked back at me with a playful smile
"Yes ma'am" I saluted her jokingly. She laughed and turned back
We walked to the highest level of the hotel and as I thought it could be one of the rooms I was wrong. She then walked up another pair of stairs with a hatchet and it wasn't until we walked up the stairs that I realized it was the rooftop
"Oh my God, it's gorgeous" I sat down on the edge letting my legs dangle. I looked down at everyone and saw how amazing it looked from up here
"That's not all, look up" she pointed to the sky. I looked up and saw the sky covered in stars. I gasped softly at the view
"Kuina this is beautiful" I spoke mesmerized by the sky. She hummed and by the tone I could tell that she was smiling
I looked at her only to see her staring back at me. The lights from the pool shone on her face, catching the perfect angle. She had her fake cigarette hanging out her mouth. Her smile was sweet, beautiful
"You're beautiful Hikari" I spoke out without thinking. Her eyes widened for a second and only then did I realize what I said
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry kuina. I didn't mean to call you by your first name" I apologized quickly. I was about to get up and leave until she grabbed my arm
"It's ok y/n, just surprised me is all" she smiled warmly. I relaxed and sat down next to her again
"Y/n it's ok for you to call me by my first name, I do it to you all the time" she chuckled. I let out a breath and nodded
"Y'know I wanted to tell you something. That's why I brought you up here" she pressed on. I raised my brows in question
"What would you like to tell me?" I uttered, looking her in the eyes
She opened her mouth but hesitated to speak. I held onto her hand
"It's ok, you can tell me anything" I reassured. She looked at both my eyes then looked to my lips. She started to lean in, entranced I did too
We stopped right before our lips touch
"Can I kiss you?" She asked almost in a breath. I lost my breath not believing this is real
"Yes please" I replied trying not to faint
Our lips connected and it was the most amazing kiss I've ever had. She was gentle and sensual. She wasn't rushing it or sloppy like other people who just wanted to get into my pants, she took her time and it was full of so many emotions
We pulled apart and I could only stare at her in awe while she looked at me to say something
"That was... amazing" I spoke in the silence. Kuina smiled brightly and brought my hand to her lips
"Good because you're getting a lot more of those" I smiled like a lovestruck puppy
I looked down to see Chishiya staring at us from one of the poolside chairs. He waved when he saw me staring. I chuckled and turned to kuina
"Chishiya knew about this?" I asked her with a grin. Her face turned confused
"What? No- oh. Damn that toothy bastard" she said as she looked down at him. He was displaying his signature smirk
"Doesn't matter because I'm with my tall, beautiful, smart, strong, badass girlfriend right now" I said while laying my head on her shoulder
I couldn't see it from my angle but kuina was as red as a tomato
