"This is a romance between a crying doormat and a neckbeard Reddit moderator."
"Hoover has the skill-set to be a talented writer, she just chooses not to be one."
"I didn't want to walk in and instantly hate everything that she had to say. So this isn't going to be a video of me proclaiming 'this is the worst romance story ever!'... especially because After is still a thing."

i love ridiculously long book reviews of media I have no interest in reading, go off, tell me for four hours why that Colleen Hoover book is bad. Tell me all about that paranormal YA romance that flopped 10 years ago. One day I'll get around to the 7-hour Lightlark review.

Another anon here, but i just had the funny thought and had to share it, of your modern Atreus pulling the kama-sutra (that one sexual book) and be like 'we said we would explore many things AND HERE I TAGGED MY FAVORITE PAGES OF WHAT WE WILL DO'
Kratos gets a private Christmas gift from Atreus, and it's the kama sutra with a whole bunch of bookmark tabs sticking out of it lmfao. He is just like "oh it came like that" and Kratos is like 'yeah, I'm sure it did 🙄'.

rewatching krimson rogues lightlark review and it does go kinda hard into some historical/weaponry accuracy stuff that i feel isnt important for YA but also im making fun of lightlark for not being a good enough court intrigue book so. glass houses.

More recommendations to add to the tag: Krimson Rogue has a lot of extensive and entertaining book reviews, as well as Dominic Noble.
There's also Meti 『Not The Bad Guy』 for anyone who wants analysis content leaning closer to manga and games.
MemeAnalysis is pretty self-explanatory but IMO he's made very compelling essays about all of the layers and deeper psychology something as seemingly simplistic as memes and other web-based phenomena can have.

First of all, thank you for the booktube recommendations! I checked out some of them and they seem p good ^^ although I might be jumping the gun a bit, but Krimson Rogue's review of After was the reason I asked for more profic leaning booktubers ngl. The way the title, description etc. was phrased screamed red flags to me tbh.
And second, I'm also the same anon that discovered their first selfcest ship w the voicelines, and I looked it up on AO3, only to find that there was one fic, and it was in Russian... so I guess the character I'm selfshipping understands it at least lol
happy to hear that anon!

I was rewatching the krimson rogue review of midnight sun again and i didnt notice the first time how weird his reading of the hades persephone myth is
Like he said hades let persephone go to the surface for sox months because she was sad but the version i know is that demeter got so sad at her daughter being kidnapped she froze the world and then zeus forced hades to release her
He also said that spring exists because she brings flowers but its because demeter is happy
Idk could be a different version but ive read a lot about greek mythology

Ok, so I don’t wanna seem like I’m overstepping any boundaries (I have a hard time deciphering when someone doesn’t want to stop talking) but another YouTuber recommendation is KrimsonRouge who basically goes through terrible books (everything from just horrible writing to just like not fun or interesting) and dissects the issues with the books and what they do right(if anything) it’s a great way to experience terrible books but not read them. His videos are great if you want to kill anywhere from 2 to 7 hours and learn how not to write a book in a way where you can see examples of bad writing and why it’s bad. I hope this isn’t like intrusive or anything I just like sharing good YouTubers I watch.
no worries i dont mind!!! :D also yea ive watched krimson rogue before!!! mostly his series on empress teresa lol if you have anymore yt recommendations feel free to tell me!!!! :]

what do you mean a 7 hour video tearing apart lightlark, a book i have never heard of or read until i watched a youtube event/product reviewer mention the booktok controversy abt the author being an industry plant and then suddenly like 20 other youtubers i was subscribed to all made videos on it, but this one dude just went all out in a 7 hour 34 minute video. what do you mean. booktok is crazy weird, glad i dont use tiktok lol
anyways between krimson rogue, the 10 hour hp criticism video, and all of quinten reviews’ crazy long videos i am. fed.
