Thank you so much for the recommendation I can wait to get into them I legit thought you would recommend kresely cole or JR ward and I was so relieved you didn’t because honestly I can’t read a 20 part series I think I will just start small like a 5 part series since I am already used to contemporary romances and go from there anyways I can’t wait to read darkest London because I just went through the synopsis of some of the books in the series and the elucien in me is screaming for soulbond it’s so close to whatever their situation is right now in acotar canon I was hoping for something close to gwynriel too but no luck hopefully as I continue the reading heist I will get something that will fill the gwynriel void in me anyways thanks again I am so happy I can’t wait to start also another quick question is it necessary that I read the darkest London series in order or I can just start from anywhere .
I can’t wait to read darkest London because I just went through the synopsis of some of the books in the series and the elucien in me is screaming for soulbond it’s so close to whatever their situation is right now in acotar canon
It's funny because I told my friends the same thing when I reached the 6th book and I was like "you guys this is literally Elucien right here—reluctant soulmates-to-lovers" 😂
There are so many tropes in this series so you'll enjoy it! And about the authors you sought I might recommend well... the funny thing is I haven't even read a book by any of them but I've been eyeing Ward for a while.
I hope you'll love the Darkest London!🤍 don't hold back from sending me your reading updates!

2: most disturbing : I think it would have to be The Hills Have Eyes 2 because of the horrific rape scene.
4: Repeat for the rest of my life: Tremors
6: Wish I hadn't watched: I can't remember the name of it but the girl is abducted. Held in a basement. Tortured. Raped. Killed. Then put in a trunk while he goes after her friend. Based on a true story.
8: book made into a movie: Kresely Cole's Poison Princess
10: favorite director: I don't actually have one
12: holds special in my heart: The Fast and Furious Franchise but especially number 5

3, 4, 5, 9 and 17, please. :)
3. What were your top five books of the year?
Archangel’s War (Guild Hunter #12) by Nalini Singh
Over and Over Again by Cole McCade
A Discovery of Witches (actually the whole series) by Deborah Harkness
The Wallflower Wager (Girl Meets Duke, #3) by Tessa Dare
Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
Bonus mentions, because it was hard to pick only five: Citadel by Kate Mosse and Heartbreak Warfare by Heather M. Orgeron. Oh, and I also rather liked Find Me by Andre Aciman. And I should also not forget Wicked Abyss and The Player by Kresely Cole and everything (yes, everything, I reread it all) by Kit Rocha. (Ahem. See, it’s hard to narrow it down.)
4. Did you discover any new authors that you love this year?
Deborah Harkness, obviously. And I finally got to read Linda Poitevin, although she is hardly new to me, but why did I wait so long to actually read anything of hers?
5.  What genre did you read the most of?
Romance, and I do not feel the slightest bit guilty about it. ;)
9. Did you get into any new genres?
No, not really, since I’ve read almost every genre in the past.
17. Did any books surprise you with how good they were?
Not really? I mean, I pick up books I expect to be good, so if it surprises me it’s because it doesn’t live anywhere near up to expectations - which is unpleasant surprise, but this has been a fortunate reading year and I haven’t had many of those.
Thank you for the ask, this has been fun!

Poison Princess
by Kresley Cole
The Arcana Chronicles #1
Young Adult | Dystopian | Paranormal
#1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole introduces The Arcana Chronicles, post-apocalyptic tales filled with riveting action, the dark mysticism of Tarot cards, and breathtaking romance. She could save the world--or destroy it.
Sixteen year old Evangeline"Evie" Greene leads a charmed life--until she begins experiencing horrifying hallucinations. When an apocalyptic event decimates her Louisiana hometown, killing everyone she loves, Evie realizes her hallucinations were actually visions of the future--and they're still happening. Fighting for her life and desperate for answers, she must turn to her wrong-side-of-the-bayou classmate: Jack Deveaux. But she can't do either alone.
With his mile-long rap sheet, wicked grin, and bad attitude, Jack is like no boy Evie has ever known. Even though he once scorned her and everything she represented, he agrees to protect Evie on her quest. She knows she can't totally trust Jack. If he ever cast that wicked grin her way, could she possibly resist him? Who can Evie trust?
As Jack and Evie race to find the source of her visions, they meet others who have gotten the same call. An ancient prophesy is being played out, and Evie is not the only one with special powers. A group of teens has been chosen to reenact the ultimate battle between good and evil. But it's not always clear who is on which side...
Goodreads
Normally I don't take book suggestions, it not because I don't want to it's because I don't have the funds for books so I am very picky about what books I do get. I know what I like and I really don't like to take chances on a book suggestion from someone who doesn't know my tastes. Of course, if it's available at my library I will try it out but normally I steer clear.
I was on bookstagram doing my thing and stuck up a conversation with someone I follow, she suggested Poison Princess by Kresley Cole and after reading the book description and finding it on Book Outlet (an online discount bookseller) I decided to go for it, especially since I have been wanting to read something by Kresely for a while.
Here is the thing, I don't like apocalypse type of entertainment so I didn't go into this with any sort of high expectations, I mean I had none what so ever but I was willing to give it an honest try and I was so shocked. I actually enjoyed the story. I still don't think I will enjoy most stories that center on the apocalypse but I'm glad I enjoyed this one. Mostly it was because the writing was amazing, the storyline was interesting, and the paranormal qualities. Kresley's writing is impressive and I loved how she made the Tarot a huge part of the story, I love tarot cards, I even own a deck myself. The whole story was inviting and kept me interested, I mean I read the book in two days because I had to know what happened.
The characters are complex, there were parts about everyone that I liked and disliked, except for Selene, I hate that chick, but overall I felt somewhat connected to the characters and I was invested in Evie. However, the only problem I had with the book involved the characters, namely Evie and Jackson, who at times the extremely frustrated me. Not only were they talking in circles but they didn't listen to each other and each said and did shady things to each other that I didn't approve of but sorta understood.
Poison Princess is the first book in a six-book series. The book has everything, magic, danger, teen angst, zombies, mayhem, romance drama, mythical lore and all of it set in the deep south. The first book has captured my attention and after such a dramatic ending in book one, I am for sure going to be reading the second book in the series, Endless Knight.
Overall 4 stars

How badly am I avoiding editing:
I cleaned under the washer and dryer to remove lint;  I scrubbed the stove with vinegar and cornstarch, scrubbed the wall behind the stove and over the counter and pulled out the stove (gross) and vacuumed and scrubbed the icky floor and cabinets under and beside said stove.
Laundry is in process.  Chickpea salad made.  Walk done.  Vacuuming mostly done; dishes in progress and I’m starting to scrub the trim I’m gonna paint next weekend with rubbing alcohol.
But at least I’m not dizzy, nauseous or suffering a migraine or blurry vision.  I just am at the point with the book where I sort of hate it after all the edits.  It’s the:  nothing I do will ever be good enough and no one will ever like it phase.
Especially while reading Kresely Cole’s Pleasure of a Dark Prince which good lord, it’s hot and so so good.  I keep smiling at certain lines.  He’s a Scottish werewolf and she’s a valkryie sworn to be an archer for a goddess and forgo any uh earthly pleasures with men.  It’s just so well written and good.  Sighs.  I want my book to make me feel like this book does and it’s just not doing it.  It’s so frustrating after rewriting so much even now years after I started it and it’s still not good enough.
Collapses on the floor and stares miserably at the ceiling.  It just sucks right now.  I’ll get over it but I need to moan for a bit.

Thanks nonnie!!
3. Name three favorite writers
Oooh! I like this one! Well, I would have to say... Kresely Cole, JR Ward, and Tamora Pierce! There are a couple others that are right up there, but those are my tops where I just love and have re-read everything they have written.
18. Favorite pairing to write?
Evil evil question which I have answered Here!
24. Favorite scene you’ve ever written?
Hoooo gosh. Wow. Um, I have just written so many that I am really not sure! I have several that stick out for me, but the ones I remember writing most vividly are ones I had trouble actually writing cause they were such a step out of my comfort zone. I think actually, most of them are major fight scenes now that I think about it! The Suladin fight in The Lion of Skyhold, and the Fade/Nightmare fight at the end of it... all the Mages working together with Cullen to defeat the Dragon! Then the Andruil Temple finale in Part of Your World! ... although again thinking about it, these ‘scenes’ cover multiple chapters so they don’t exactly qualify as scenes, haha. So big epic fights!
Sex scenes are fun to write too, but I am most proud of the fight ones!
27. Best review you ever got?
Oh goodness... this is hard for me. I don’t know if I have an answer. I have written soooo many chapters over my 2 years of fanfiction writing, I just have a lot of reviews between AO3, fanfiction.net, and here. The ones that stick with me most are ones that take a sentence that I have written and just fawn over it, lol. Doesn’t happen very often, so they stick with me :) Also, I think I am not very good with comedy, so I love when people tell me that I made them laugh! That is always a good glow!!!
I am sorry, it is such a cop out answer, I know, haaa.

Dead of Winter - third excerpt
Just read the third excerpt. I didn't think I could love Jackson anymore than I already do, but after this? Love him way more. He is so much more than what we have thought. I've stood by my opinion that he's a gift from the gods or a god, much more than a card. And I still stand by it.
His love for Evie is boundless.
Will Death be able to redeem himself for me? Very possible. Depends on how things went with Evie before she left his stronghold. But threaten Jackson? To harm one hair on that head? Never forgive. Don't understand the Death love at all.
Changing my icon back to what it was. Jackson.
