man it’s wild how dragons rising introduced so many characters that just fit so well within the world of ninjago

I love Arin Sora and Riyu just as much as I love the rest of the main ninja + Pixal + Wu. Mr. Frohicky is such a fun addition to the cast. Beatrix, Lord Ras and Rapton are such fun villains. There’s so many side characters that are incredible that I fell for so fast, like Euphrasia and Arrakore and Percival and Jordana and Geo. Lobbo is so funny and a delight on-screen. Kreel feels very Ronin-esque in such a fun way. Even the BACKGROUND CHARACTERS make the realms and the Crossroads feel so alive.

I was so nervous when they announced there’d be a new ninjago series, I’m very resistant to change and didn’t want new characters to replace the old. But they haven’t replaced them, they’ve added to such a wonderful and expansive world. I love you Dragons Rising I love you DR cast

So Kreel failed in one of his missions to get Luke and his friends, Vader is a little pissed off so he starts his usual talk about "You have failed me for the last.." because Kreel may be one of his favorite officers, in fact he has allowed him to train with a lightsaber and has teached him some tecniques but he has a reputation and now he is planning to punish him by taking away the lightsaber he gave him to practice and aks Kreel how can he be sure he won´t fail him again and then Kreel answers this.

Vader expression here is priceless, he´s looking at Kreel as if thinking "Now this is my kind of loyalty""At last I found someone who sees loyalty as I do" "where have you been all my life?" Vader doesn´t just allows Kreel and his men another chance, he actually gives him a Jedi lightsaber and tells him to be worthy of it.

I just love the implication here that Vader considers this level of loyalty and self- sacrifice for the sake of the mission Jedi Qualities, so he gives him the weapon that identifies him as one when he had been talking just a few panels ago to Kreel about him not being good enough to become a "sith" which Kreel promtly told him, he doesn´t care because he is proud to be a trooper of the 501 st because it was them, not the sith, the ones who rescued him and his planet.

Moments like this when Vader has a real talk with his men are so good, they show the complicated feelings over the Jedi and Sith identities Anakin/Vader should have, the same ones Luke detected during their duel and this also is evidence that Vader had a nuanced view of both Jedi and Sith. He may no longer consider himself a Jedi but he respected them as enemies.

I have a heavy hate love(?) relationship on stormtroopers, cause they were reconditioned to think that way, but they kill and commit genocide (but they don’t deserve to be forced to do that)…. But Stormtrooper Kreel… holy fuck I love that man, he uses a goddamn lightsaber (despite not being force sensitive), doesn’t hesitate to kick Luke’s ass (even when he wields a lightsaber) and helped Luke get better at general combat and shit…. This man is amazing

on an unrelated note….. I might’ve got into mortal kombat :)))

Here to dutifully bother you with the fact that Luke and Kreel have a one-sided arch-nemesis thing going on. It's beautiful. Kreel considers this 19 y.o. scrawny kid his biggest enemy, his nemesis, the n. 1 public menace he must put down for the sake of his self-esteem. Witness him, Lord Vader!

And Luke is just so annoyed this maniac of a stormtrooper keeps popping up to punch him in the face. It's just another baddie who wants him dead, except he's a clingy baddie.

It needs to be said that Kreel in particular is STUPENDOUSLY in love with Women. He just loves women so much.

None of us feel sexual attraction but Kreel especially is hopelessly romantic. He is a trans masc, he/him, asexual lesbian and extremely sweet, kind, and loving but in a very....... hmm. His social awareness is horrible, he is autistic and struggles with expressing his (extremely Big) emotions, and a literal cursed tragic hero wizard with a depressing kill number.

But by gosh does he love and respect women, especially his wife. That ambian reddit guy who loves his wife, and the post before this one, that's Kreel to a T.

All this debate over Ahsoka trying to train Sabine as a padawan who isn´t very strong as a force sensitive but nonetheless has talent for the Jedi arts made me remember the Stormtrooper Kreel who learned from Vader how to fight with a Jedi lightsaber, he didn´t want to become a Jedi or a Sith, he was very proud of being a stormtrooper but this similarity is interesting.

Kreel fought Luke a few times and managed to defeat him sometimes but I love the fact that Vader was shown being protective of him and Luke.

Vader´s in his best Dad voice "Neither of you should be playing with lightsabers, stop at once"

Kreel and Luke: He started it, gotta educate him.

While Ahsoka is with Sabine: I am sure you will get the handle of it in a few lessons and during active combat.

Sabine: Sure I will get it.

Huyang: There is a 80% of probabilities both are going to die if they keep this going on.

I am loving the Ahsoka series but Ahsoka needs to remember that Sabine isn´t her and she has to play towards her streghts, not her weakest part, which is her bad handle on force sensitivity, when they are on active combat. I liked she changed her style nearly at the end of the chapter and hope to see more of that in the next chapter
