revisiting the pjo series and i’m more than slightly fascinated by the sort of edge they give to aphrodite, the idea that she’d beset a tragic, problem-filled romance on a mortal that she likes, got me thinking of the ugly power a goddess of love can have, the power that love can have. reminded me that the word “cupidity” means greed or possessiveness and also of just how many songs there are out there about slighted lovers that end in murder.
