as much as i wanna put him above mick, he yells too much. calm down old man. 1 point for caring for the kids enough to not carry on when he found out about the whole human sacrifice thing. also saving joy in s2. y’know what he gets half a point more than mick.

trudy is heartwarming but holy shit is she oblivious. Is Just Ok with “robert smith” being there even when she has no confirmation of his identity. very loyal to the kids and does protect them from a lot of shit. writers did her dirty a lot of the time.

mara — 5/10

ok listen. i don’t dislike mara. i just tend to favor the sibuna mystery storylines, and all of her stories are more realistic scenarios. that being said i love her helping poppy and i also love the sisterhood thing in s3. but also mara why the FUCK would you fall for mick like he’s mick??!?

kt — 7/10

written into hoa way better than on shows like h2o where there’s just one sentence about emma being gone and that’s that. she wasn’t just nina’s replacement, she was her own person. love her personality and her friendship with eddie. 100% a lesbian. only reason she’s so low is cuz no matter how good she is of a replacement character she still kinda is one and i don’t do well with those. i’m working on it.

i love nina so much. fabina is so cute together. i think the only reason i have her so low and don’t wanna put her higher is cuz i always hate main characters, even though i don’t hate nina. my mind is strange.

amber — 8/10

dumb blonde stereotype but who cares i love her. provides much comic relief for me especially in s2. ping pong queen. also love her bday episode. ungrateful for alfie at times. also liked mick but it’s a little more understandable cuz Hot Guy cliche. but was also mean to mara about it. but also a lot of that was mick’s fault #blamemick

alfie — 8/10

class clown who’s loyal af. Actually completes amber’s bf trial list. would go through hell for her. always feeling like he has to prove himself to the group but he’s always been an asset. we love him.

was such a comfort character when i was little. for some reason rewatching she was less of one. still absolutely so pure of heart and lovable. somebody get this girl a hedgehog.

eddie — 9/10

cool dude™. top notch bf. peddie is one of my fav ships ever. he kinda gets all heroic in s3 but s3 has a whole set of issues. plot twist reveal of his daddy issues. great development while being a great character the whole time.

fabian — 9/10

such a solid dude. guy-falls-for-girl-first trope to the max. he’s awkward and nerdy but not really cocky or annoying. fabian defense squad for life. point off for kissing joy like dude besides the outfit she looks nothing like nina come on.

jerome — 9/10

terrible person at times, but great character. comfort character of mine. his flaws allowed him to be developed throughout the show. he feels very real and human and i love him.

piper - 10/10

obsessed w her cuz i’m also pretty similar to her. both of us go (went) to music school and love patricia. not that i think she’s a BETTER character than a lot of the characters lower on this list, but this is a ranking of my favs so she has to be above them.

joy — 10/10

also a comfort character. i honestly feel most like joy out of all the characters. similar to jerome in that her character flaws lead to richer development. i live for it. was Literally held hostage by her parents and forced into a cult in s1. most of anubis house seemed to just brush that off. that doesn’t excuse her actions, but i love her growth throughout the series. not higher cuz she was kind of a dick to nina for a long while.

patricia — 10000000000+++/10

again i wish there were an infinity symbol. do i even have to say anything? witty and sarcastic and says what’s on her mind. i wish i were eddie cuz i’m in love w her. i know amber’s the one who went to fashion school, but patricia is a style icon. my gay awakening.

HOA characters and their most loved charity causes....

Willow: Animals - She loves animals. They are like her- innocent. Not only does Willow love the cause and advocate for it but is an adoptive mom to multiple animals from bad situations and volunteers at her local shelter. I think willow would also make a good advocate through social media by being an advocate through her pet yotube channel, Willow Squeaks, where she tells people to adopt don't shop and shares advice on animals. I feel like willow has a bird, a dog, two cats, a hamster, guinea pigs, and chickens outside.

Jerome: Children of imprisoned parents - Just like him, he sees what it does and cares. He doesn't do a ton but he cares a lot. Poppy also cares a ton about this and becomes a foster mom to children with parents in prison. Jerome is a great father figure to these kids and he makes sure to advocate when he can in a casual way.

Eddie: Kids without Dads - This is also him. He sees himself in these kids. As a coach for his and Patricia's sons baseball team he gives extra support to the kids on the team he meets without dads and feels he needs to step up and cheer louder for them, teach them to tie ties, give them manly advice. Makes him feel good.

KT: LGBTQ - KT I could see being a teacher and if so she's 100% the teacher in charge of the LGBTQ+ club. She helps the kids in her school feel comfortable and loved and wants them to be themselves. She advocates for better education and tolerance lessons for the students and wants to spread love. Her and her future wife adopt LGTBQ kids from foster care, including a student KT had who was in the system and was being missgendered by their foster parents.

Joy: Kidnapping victims- Joy was kidnapped by her parents and while most people are kidnapped by people who aren't their parents she advocates for them all. She has written a (anonymous and altered to make sense) book about her experience and the effects of it and through it has had people reach out. She also has helped volunteer for search parties of kidnapped people near her.

Nina: The elderly - Not only does it remind Nina of her gran who she loves and raised her but it reminds her of Sarah who she loves as well. She volunteers at the local nursing home and even has her children join the adopt a grandparent program. Nina loves it as much as the people.

Patricia: Bullying - Look while we never really saw it on the show you can't tell me someone more alt like Patricia wasn't bullied by some people. She was even if it wasn't intense or behind her back or whatever. She cares a lot and when she finds out about her daughter who's like her dealing with the bullshit she steps the frick up and goes to the school and demands action, not just for her but for all the kids cause she's been there.

Mara: Sick kids - Mara loves volunteering with sick kids. Not only does Mara volunteer to help sick children's spirits she works at her job to help cure these illnesses for these kids too. Mara does lots of stuff for the kids including raising money and spreading awareness but her favorite thing is reading to the kids.

Mick: Coaching underprivileged kids football team - Mick volunteers to coach the youth group in his cities kids football (soccer) team. He doesn't have kids of his own (he's the cool uncle) but he likes kids and is happy to help them with their sports and even helps them get equipment.

Fabian: Tutoring - Fabian doesn't care about being a professor if he can't make a big difference, he wants the kids to understand and know so regardless of money he stays as late as he can to help these kids as long as their willing to learn.

Alfie: All causes - You see Alfie doesn't care what the cause is if there's a bake sale or pancake dinner involved. He's supported tons of things over the years and will continue to as long as there's food invovled.

etienne ‘ marcel ’ fluor was born in montpellier, france to two lovely parents, theodore and estelle fluor ( both born in england themselves ) . he is the youngest of his siblings, having one older brother and an older sister, all of them being roughly two years apart. at the age of eight, his family relocated to montreal, canada as a result of a promotion his mother received, which at such a young age, etienne had no qualms with, despite his siblings’ uneasiness. upon moving to a new country at a young age, etienne truly found himself via escaping into various books and movies. often attempting to write his own and would force encourage his siblings to act his skits/plays out for his parents enjoyment. he continues to be very close with his parents and siblings - recently he taught his parents how to use facetime, so catch him face timing his family on sunday nights.

growing up, etienne also enjoyed playing all types of sports ( his parents signing him up hoping that he’d make friends as a result, which he did ). when it came down to it, athletic abilities-wise, there truly wasn’t anything that he wasn’t ‘ good ’ at, and that’s simply because he’s always been such a competitive individual / as well as a perfectionist. that competitive/perfectionist energy caused him to go home and practice a skill or trick for hours in order to be able to come back the next day and whoop everyone’s asses. overall, he’s very athletic, found alternating between various sports offered not only at school, but as well as through local clubs. ultimately, his love and appreciation for hockey swayed him and soon enough it became his sole focus. due to his perfectionist tendencies, etienne is very dedicated to his craft, he will spend hours practicing specific tricks and skills in order to be the best at what he does, which transcends past hockey and into, really, every aspect of his life.

throughout highschool ; etienne was a v dedicated student. although he’s a bit reckless and loved to goof off, he was always acing classes and applying himself. he genuinely cares for others, you could’ve seen his ass volunteering at a soup kitchen with his mom on sundays and what not, as well as take part in various clubs and sports ! just SOFT and sporty things. during this time, he joined the ontario hockey league and from there was eventually scouted out and recruited to the pittsburgh penguins as a defenseman at the age of eighteen - forgoing his parents desire for him to attend a university. although he enjoyed his time with pittsburgh, he was excited when the idea of being traded came up - eager to explore a new city and immerse himself in a new area.

trigger warning - injury, dislocation ( just in case !!!! ) however, he really didn’t enjoy new york ( hehe ), so he relocated to westmere soon after his initial arrival to nyc - finding a lot of comfort in living in a less populated area. he would commute during the hockey season to nyc, which to him wasn’t very far away, so this is where he’s been residing for the last three years !! however, in the last couple of weeks while training for the upcoming season my lil bb injured himself - not to get into tooooo much detail, i’ll just leave it at shoulder dislocation / joint separation due to a hard hit !! basically he’s out for this upcoming season, already having surgery completed, he’s currently healing for the next couple of months, allowing himself to fully experience that westmere fall !!!
