Let love be without hypocrisy—by abhorring what is evil, clinging to what is good...
Proverbs 8:13 NASB1995
The fear of the Lord is to hate evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way
And the perverted mouth, I hate.
Psalm 5:4-5 LSB
For You are not a God who delights in wickedness;
Evil does not sojourn with You.
The boastful shall not stand before Your eyes;
You hate all workers of iniquity.
1 John 1:5-10 LSB
And this is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not do the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
This prayer resonated with me, because the phrase "You are God and I am not" has been running through my head all weekend. It's from the song by Philippa Hanna "You're Still God." I'll explain more in my next post and include the lyrics and a link to the song.
Friend, if this is one of those days when you need to hear this: "God is GOD and He is the never-changing God of miracles and He is working all things for your good, to give you a hope and a future (Romans 8:28 and Jeremiah 29:11). If it's not good at the moment, it's because God hasn't finished yet. He's working on it. You can trust God, He will never let you down. Blessings for the week ahead! Amen!🙏🕊🙌
Mark 8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
If you say that you believe in God but do not believe in nor have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior then you do not truly believe in God. Then you believe in a god which is not God. It's that simple. There's no two ways about it. John 14:6 (New Heart English Bible): "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him. But you denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, but put to death the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead, a fact to which we are witnesses.
John 1:14 LSB
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
1 Corinthians 1:30-31 LSB
But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that, just as it is written, “Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
