Joker Out Amsterdam Concert Report (6.12.2023)

The night where things for me are never the same again...

Hey yo, so this is really overdue. I'm going to be honest, my comments for the show itself are pretty much the same as the ones I made for the Hague, which is that the boys are amazing as always live and bless the crew for their work too.

So I will just be writing short notes about this particular night:

- Got to the venue at 4.30pm, got around number 180.

- PSA if you are going to visit Melkweg for the first time, there weren't any cloakrooms so you would have to tie your coat around your waist. Getting a locker was tough when the internet signal wasn't strong, and even if you get one the locker size feels like a shoebox, so yeah, avoid bringing a big bag with you if you can.

- I was around four rows away from the stage and standing at the floor on Kris's side that night. This means I get to focus more on Bojan AND MY GOD THIS ENERGETIC PUPPY~

- When Jan first came on stage, first thing I did was turn to my friend and say JAN IS SHIRTLESS OH BOI

- We got Mia Nicholai as the opening act~ For me, she was alright. While I'm not her biggest fan, Mia singing live sounds better than her studio recordings heheheh...

- Those who are there would know that Bojan stopped the show midway to make sure security safely escorted a girl who "fainted". I will let the girl's friend explain the situation here in this tweet. While what followed after that was real awkward, if that's what the girl wishes, let's respect that.

- I've said enough about me singing 'Umazane Misli' in Bahasa Malaysia, so I will let this mini comic tell you the story.

This trip, I set out to watch Joker Out live in the Netherlands while meeting up with old friends from back when I was studying there. In the end, I got way more than I asked for. I'm really happy that back in July 2023, I decided to go all in for this.

Thank you again to all the Tumblr peeps I met during those two days! May 2024 be a good year to you, and if you are attending the Spring tour, may you have tons of fun!

- ability: synchronize *if the Pokémon is hurt, the responsable Pokémon will be inflicted with the same status condition* I just feels like that's something Kris would do. If someone's e. g. mean to him, I think he would give them the same treatment

Jan as Umbreon

"When exposed to the moons aura, the rings on its body glow faintly and it gains a mysterious power."

- Jan's just overall the dark kinda vibe

- needs high friendship level to evolve as well but at night (0:20)

- blue lights elevate him in my eyes (Shiny Umbreon has blue rings instead of yellow ones, which I like a tad bit more)

- Umbreon seems like someone who would look sexy while smoking

- gay vibes

- feel like they both really need time to get comfortable with people but when they do, their bond becomes inseparable (X)

- also Umbreon and Espeon are counterparts of each other, both from the same gen, Kris and Jan being the guitarists of the band (yes that is the same thing in this case) and they're both so mysterious on their own way

Nace as Leafeon

"When you see Leafeon asleep in a patch of sunshine, you’ll know it is using photosynthesis to produce clean air."

- photosynthesis as a metaphor that he's capable (and essential) to help his friends when they're in need (Bojan's panic attack)

- they both give chill vibes

- lovely, nice and pretty

- Pokédex is claiming that Leafeon smells so good, it's scent is also sold as a perfume (Nace looks like he smells really good)

- it isn't really a happy fighter, but it WILL fight for its friends <3

- also: "Leafeon is very proud of being able to split tree trunks itself." is so Nace-Dad coded lol

Jure as Jolteon

"It concentrates the weak electric charges emitted by its cells and launches wicked lightning bolts."

- the hair

- Jure always seems like he's buzzing with energy

- Jolteon would be the drummer in a band

Hi this is her brother. I wasn't soo excited for the album as much as her; to tell the truth I didn't care at all. I know it may be insulting for you hardcore JO fans but hear me out. I am a joker out fan (obviously) but my sister doesn't actually know till what extent. Because I LOVE THEM SO MUCH but i can NEVER tell how I really feel for unknown reasons. First of all, I didn't listen to all of them but plastika is my most favourite 😍. I loveeeee Jure in blue! He just looks so good! Especially in that blue lacey flower shirt. It falls into the category of blouses that suit him so fucking well it's unreal!

It's also funny how Jure looks best either in a shirt with one of those bows around his neck or basically shirtless (I'm looking at you stožice outfit) Option 1) makes him look kinda regal and all soft and option 2) really brings out his arms and his figure (yes I may have died when I saw that lace chain thingy for the first time)

And the bows! Oh my lord the bows! They suit him so fucking well and I really really need him to wear them again because HOLY FUCK does he look good in them!

That furry jacket makes him look like a woman whose husband has just died under mysterious circumstances and I absolutely love that!

Also another category of clothes he looks absolutely fantastic in: dresses. I mean did you see the fucking wedding pictures?! He looked so so good in that dress it should be illegal. Like good sir please leave some slay for the rest of us!

Okay, I think I mostly gathered my thoughts. So

My personal highlights from the second Zagreb concert (11/11/2023)

Meeting my friend's friends in the queue and us sharing snacks while freezing outside

Managing to get to almost exact middle of the stage in the third row

4 of us playing "finish the sentence" for an hour while we waited and two girls joining us and laughing so much because we kept fucking up

I know I said Jan's magnetism is fascinating, but now that I was closer, I definitely see why sm ppl recorded primarly Bojan. When he meets your gaze for a second it's like. Okay, let me just breathe for a second

Experiencing Kris on the stage too, since I could bareky see him yesterday! I know he was feeling unwell but he still had that ethereal glow to him

Getting to see irl how differently Jan and Kris handle guitars? Like, I am absolutely no expert but Kris seems much more controlled and precise and Jan just...goes to twon with his guitar 😂 love them both it's just interesting how different their styles are

I finally got to see Jure omg. His drum solo was so good and I don't think I realized how much force he puts in his movements before. He is panting because his entire body is moving constantly while he plays the drums. Insane. I love him

Again, I am probably forgetting things but overall, both concerts were an amazing experiences and I am just floored. I looked forward to this for so long I thought real experience couldn't compare to how I imagined it but boii, I was wrong. I am so thankful I got the change to experience them live

Also guys I got to meet Bojan before the show and he noticed my Käärijä euro tour shirt and said "nice shirt" and we got to talk for a little bit and he said that JO is hoping to come to Berlin in the new year

Also I told him I was going to be at the Polish tour and said "I hope to see you there" and then my awkward ass corrected that to "well obviously I'M going to see YOU there, that's the whole point hahaha" and guys he actually took my hand and looked me in the eye and said "I hope I'll see YOU there too!"

This man is an actual saint and the most genuine people-person alive. Like seriously, he has this rare ability to make anyone he's currently talking to feel like the centre of the universe for as long as your conversation lasts. I liked to think I played it cool until we said goodbye and then I basically collapsed into the arms of my queue-friend like "OMG WHAT JUST HAPPENED."

Nace and Jure also came out for a few minutes to say hi to fans but it was really Bojan who came out on his own after the soundcheck and insisted on spending some time meeting with fans, the man is really, truly an absolute sweetheart. ❤️
