A big factor I think is fun to consider in the “a different party member is looping” AUs is why the characters keep it to themselves, and also how they’d behave at their tipping point, and most of all how they’d s specifically dehumanize the rest of the party by the end like how Siff starts calling them actors on a stage. Mirabell would experience major chosen one guilt. She’d see the loops as an opportunity to make the head house maiden (I’m gonna say HHM from here on out for her btw) proud for choosing her and also the rest of Dormont. She’d do everything to keep everyone safe of course, really starting the downward spiral after her first failure to defeat the king. But after meeting with HHM and having the loop corrupt I think she’d experience major religious guilt. She failed her house and she already thinks she’s following the change belief wrong because of her aroace status so I think she’d start assuming this was all a punishment for her sins that needed correcting. Her party members becoming nothing more then her entourage as she is the vessel of change, and at their worst they’re obstacles to her redemption. She doesn’t even wait for them to start talking shit about her at the clock tower before she decides to go it alone I think

A lot of Odile loops aus or maybe just the one I’ve seen have her as a diligent note taker. Real. I think she’d be unwilling to tell the party because I think she’s smart enough to figure out why the loops are happening immediately. But she refuses to believe that dumb wish she made on the tree she doesn’t believe in could actually do anything so she pushes that fear to the back of her mind and forgets about it till the end. She follows exact scripts and does everything perfectly for the first few loops but I think given the fact she’s the only one who attacks you in the finale fight she has it in her to start distancing herself form the party super quick. Even before meeting HHM she starts seeing the group as lab rats minus Bonnie to test out possible scenarios both to their benefit or to their detriment but after the meeting they become nothing more then Serial numbers, Bonnie included, and she couldn’t care less when it comes to their safety since she can just restart whenever she likes

Isa is tricky because he’s too sweet a guy I think but that’s what’s fun about it. I think he’d have a full blown identity crisis, I think lying to his friends and keeping secrets more intense then a little crush would eat at him, I think the fact his friends can’t remember all the things they’ve shared in the loops would make him feel hopeless over time, I think the fact they can’t remember when he was cold to them in later loops would get on his nerves. He’s a bundle of emotions and keeps the loops from the others just because he’s worried about them seeing him differently now that he has this ability, and after he meets the HHM he’s erratic and all over the place mentally. I’m taking a que from his backstory using body craft and saying his friends become shapeless formless husks over time that he can’t see as anything but failed clay sculptures. For an extra bit of sadness he finally confesses to siff in one of the loops before the last one and it’s big and perfectly choreographed but Sif gets overwhelmed and is himself worried how isa would feel if he knew more about Sif so they turn him down. And from then on he goes through the 5 stages of grief treating Sif worse and worse each loop because all of their good chemistry and funny banter is soured by the fact it will never happen. When the final fight ends he confesses it more like he’s telling Sif he’s got weeks to live, quiet and subdued and apologetic, and Sif accepts this time because it was genuine and they know a lot more about each other now

Bonnie tells Odile. Every time without fail. Sometimes they let Mira and Isa in on it, sometimes they insist it stay between them, sometimes they don’t tell the whole truth and pass it off as a prophetic dream or a hunch or something. But they always tell her. And they never tell Sif. Bonnie would obviously start getting stronger because of the loops and would eventually show off to Sif that they didn’t need his protection anymore, and that’s when the two can have their heart to heart and they’d trust him more. But after that loop fails Bonnie would become more and more agitated, aggressive, they’d snap at the others and become increasingly annoyed they treat them like a baby when they’re more powerful then all of them. It’s after the HHM that they stop telling Odile, they stop getting excited about snacks they stop chiming in with jokes and everyone assumes, naturally, that the kid is obviously stressed and they leave it be. On the last loop they absolutely lose it on the others and that’s when they all agree to leave them at the clocktower because this is too much for them. I wanna say the party becomes something like dolls to Bonnie, and that they feel as though they’re too old for dolls now

oof isa this hurts me... its so hard to see yoshi hating Anyone enough to be flat-out enemies with them. im stealing from my seungkwan one where its "enemies but we were also like 4 when we became enemies" and they just never fully let go of it until now.

insert misunderstanding between you and yosh, both children at the time, that results in you yelling at him that you hate him forever (again, you're like 3-4 here) and him crying over it. despite the talking to you get from your parents, you (in your infantile rage) stick to it rather than forget about it like everyone kind of expects? which. yknow, not ideal, but the two of you aren't in the same class after that year so people just kinda forget. every time u see him tho u are filled with rage and he scowls at u. both of ur parents are sure the two of you will grow out of it, but pushing you two back together is only gonna make things worse. you're kids, sure, but you're allowed to be upset. yosh doesn't forgive you right away bc it rly hurt his feelings, and the two of you don't rly ever reconcile. ur later interactions growing up end up being arguments, and the two of u just end up avoiding each other as much as u can

blah blah post-college you start an internship at a new company only to run right back into yoshi, a new hire at the same place, and all of tht bad blood kinda comes back for you (and him, a little, too--but he doesn't think he seriously hates you at all anymore). its less mutual enemies to lovers and more "you're still upset with him bc the two of you used to be close as tiny kids and then never reconciled" and "yosh is visibly awkward around you to the point where other ppl comment on it since he's unsure of how to tread this."

... alternatively: supervillain au where ur the villain and yosh is one of the ppl trying to stop you until the truth comes out abt the ppl ur trying to bring down and the two of you (maybe w others) are made into a team to stop (insert corrupt business) from harming more ppl. the two of you are openly against the idea of working together, but you've got the common goal tht makes you set it aside... even if theres some messy spots there. probably results in one of you getting injured and having the other watch over u and some deep talks. maybe even a panicked confession later. ooough i can imagine like. serious moment of maybe reader having to sacrifice themself to stop shit from going back and yosh yelling that he Loves you and he doesnt want to lose you, but you let him go in order to save the greater good........ lies down on the floor

OH SHIT I FORGOT I FORGOT TO DUMP ABT MY S3 SOREN WHOOPS

OKAY SO first of all I want to say that the biggest reason I think he'd be the final boss is because of the fact that he's literally called the Builder of Worlds in the intro of "The Order of the Stone" like. hello? sounds a little more impressive than "The Redstone Engineer," "The Rougue," and "The Warrior" imo. also, he has a book in every world in the Portal Hall + Fred's Keep, meaning that he's been to all of these seemingly impossible places only available to powerrful people (the Old Builders and the Admins). how else in the world would he be able to get to these places without being powerful himself?

also, the command block. holy shit where did it come from? you can't craft one (there's no proof Ellegaard's would've actually been crafted), so where did it come from? my answer: Soren spawned it in as a way to show off his powers without seeming like he did it on purpose. he tells Jesse that initially, the Order did actually rough it out on adventures, but once they found the command block, they began to use it and rely on it more and more. this begs the question: if Soren's so powerful, why would he go through the trouble of using it? for that, let's look at his past

in my s3, it's explained that Soren created every world, and had 3 children who created the dimensions. "The Sun" created the overworld so that the inhabitants of the worlds could live happily in the day, "The Moon" created the Nether for the adventurers of the worlds, and "The Star" who created the End for ████████████████. these three were dubbed as "The Creators," and they worked together when creating the dimensions, and sprinkled in a litte bit of each other's dimensions in each other ("The Moon" made the nights filled with monsters and filled the End with loot to entice people to journey through the dimensions, "The Sun" made glowstone/shroom lights in the Nether and made end rods in the End to show that no matter the outlook, there's always light (they also made chorus fruit in the End so that people would have something to eat), and "The Star" made the Endermen available to every dimension so that way they'd ████████)

after that, he dedicated admins for every world who would use the dimensions to sculpt the worlds how they saw fit, make/remix mobs, and add their own blocks/mechanics/etc, but most of them became corrupted, ran away, or killed. because of this, he wanted to wipe everything and start again, but he wanted to give his worlds the benefit of the doubt and so, he decided to explore them, hidden amongst the common folk

in every world he traveled to, he was alone, scrounging for resources, not able to use his powers so that he could experience life the way the people who lived on the worlds did. it was... humbling, really. not using your powers is a nice way to really feel alive after getting what you wanted with the clap of your hands for thousands of years. he ended up running into the Old Builders soon after they had formed and joined them (hence the book A Man Voyaging Forever from his time alone). it was with them that he researched and created the redstone heart (hence The Redstone Heart in Harper's lab).

he actually watched The Games (and occssionally participated in them), but once Hadrian and Mevia began to become corrupted, he and Harper dipped to Crown Mesa, where after some time, PAMA happened, and he dipped because PAMA chipping him would be catastrophic. once reaching the world where "A Portal to Mystery" takes place, he began to occasionally study enderman and followed them around, observing them in their hauntings (hence Walking Among the Enderman). unfortunately that world was difficult to really observe them because the world prefered to spawn zombies at any given chance, so he dipped again.

when he made it to Sky City, Benedict was incredibly useful to his research. he befriended Isa and asked her only for the endermen spawn eggs, and in return, he would give her information about mobs that he had acquired over the years so she could know how to get/use the best drops mobs had to offer (hence Habits of the Endermen, whixh he gifted it to her once completed) the only issue was that he couldn't fully observe them in the overworld and thus, he dipped.

that brings us to the world of Fred, Xara, and Romeo. he had joined The Oasis and befriended the admins (although they didn't know who he actually was) and was actually very close friends with Fred. Fred inspired Soren to break the cycle and start a permanent life here (hence A Brave New Enderman), but after Fred died and the world was bedrocked over, he tried to dip again, but was horrified to find that the portal he used to get there was gone. turns out when the Old Builders got to that world to kidnap competitors, they broke and replaced the portal so that it would be on the surface. with this, Soren began a quest to find the portal.

however, once he got to the surface, he had nowhere to start, so he went adventuring again to search for clues. turns out that when you don't adventure for a while, you get rusty, and he almost got seriously injured during a fight with a hoard of spider jockeys. but just when he thought he was going to get seriously hurt, someone (or rather, some people) jumped in to help. these some people where Gabriel and Ivor. the two had become adventuring buddies because Gabriel was the perfect fighter and Ivor was the perfect brewer and enchanter, and they worked really well together. Soren was invited to join the two due to his extensive knowledge of the world, and because he had the ability to be a great member physically once he got back into the swing of things. soon, Ellegaard and Magnus joined the team, and they became the "Stone Age" (this name was changed after the Ender Dragon encounter because they needed something that sounded cooler). at this point, he was quite truthfully happy

but then came the command block. Soren had always carried it as a fail-safe, but when the group began to take on more dangerous challenges and almost fatally wound themselves, he began to use the command block. he had planted it so that it had seemed like it was discovered, but he knew the truth. and with that, he began to use it. not because he wanted the easy way out like Ivor believed, but because he didn't want lose any more of his friends.

that brings us to s1. with Soren losing Magnus/Ellegaard and seeing the destruction and pain he himself had caused because of his command block, he did what he knew best and ran away, leaving his only friends to fend for themselves.

now let's talk about season 2. Ivor doesn't know where he is, but my s3 explains that Soren's lack of an appearance in s2 is because of the fact he was once again trying to run away from his problems, but he still doesn't know where the portal to the portal hall is, and was just roughing it out once again by himself. that is, until he encountered a very particular enderman that doesn't seem to be under the control of the Ender Dragon. despite this new companion, once he's heard about what happened to jesse and the admins, he realizes just how badly he set up the worlds and is back to thinking about wiping the universes clean and starting over, and now, his plan is already underway (hence why the au Jesse shows up in the first place)

now, you may be wondering "how does that make him the final boss?" well, it's simple. before he becomes the last boss of the series, there's another adventure right before it that involves "The Sun," "The Moon," and "The Star" that takes place as the first arc of the game. by the time that arc is finished with, the universes that are being wiped are getting closer and closer to the world he inhabits, making Jesse the only one able to stop him and save the day

Yeah, me and @ofseasworth ​ actually discussed a lot of things through and (with some help and insults from @himbocloud ​) we have a good deal of the AU figured out!

tw for: excessively long explanation post, a brief mention of slavery existing within the DA universe

The general plot is based on the initial premise of Dragon Age Inquisition, but takes a turn towards a more Dragon Age: Origins-like plot structure. In other words: you have Sora, a Rivaini warrior, Riku, a Tevinter runaway mage, and Kairi, an Orlesian rogue, who all happen to find themselves at the Conclave for their own reasons, and who also happen to be literally the only survivors of the explosion that wipes away the Conclave, together with the Divine. Sora wakes up with a painful mark on his hand, the sky torn apart and also finds that Kairi managed to break the three of them out of prison, because they’re wanted by the Chantry for supposedly killing the Divine. After that, they set on a quest together to find allies willing to help them close the Breach in the sky and find the actual responsible for the Divine’s death, all while escaping from the Chantry who wants them and the various pursuers who want to find/kill them for their own reasons.

In this vision of the AU, the foretellers and the MoM are the magisters that first entered the Golden City and corrupted it, and Xehanort is a Tevinter magister who found the foreteller’s notes and research and was curious about understanding magic that was lost to time and as his research grew desperate and dark, he grew in power and transformed beyond recognition, turning into a Corypheus like creature. So yeah, he’s an all powerful sentient Darkspawn who is also a magister and the entire point of the quest Sora, Riku and Kairi set on is to find him and put an end to all his evil plans and possibly kill him.

As I mentioned, the Destiny trio are being pursued by other people aside from demons, darkspawn, the Chantry itself. For this reason, when they first meet they all lie to each other about who they really are: Sora says he’s just a regular adventurer who occasionally works as a merc, Kairi says she’s just a regular thief, and Riku says he’s just a regular mage whose magister is against Xehanort and looking for potential allies. Obviously, this comes back to bite them in the ass and after that they all have to reveal their actual background to each other.

Sora is the son of a fisherman from Rivain, he turned to piracy out of genuine love for adventure and the sea. He was pretty tame for a pirate, thought known as a formidable warrior, but once during a job he discovered one of his fellow pirates tried to trick him into selling slaves and not only did he free them all as soon as possible, but he also crashed his ship in attempt to escape from the other very pissed pirates who had assigned him the job (so he has like, Isabela’s background without the bad parts and the sexualization). He was hired as a mercenary right after to cover his tracks from his pursuers, and happened to be at the Conclave by a really unlucky turn of events.

Riku is a mage from a poor family, he was taken under a Magister’s guidance who saw his potential for learning to master Blood magic. The Magister was cruel in her training, and often tried to use Riku to do her dirty job for him. After a couple years of training finally Riku realized how bad his teacher and her ways were, as well as her association with Xehanort. During a training day in which she was trying to convince him to finally use a blood sacrifice for a ritual, Riku ended up killing her and her guards and break himself and the “sacrifice” out of her castle. So Riku is wanted for dead in Tevinter, and he run to the Conclave in search of support against the growing problem in Tevinter with Xehanort. He’s literally wanted everywhere he goes for being very visibly a maleficarum, and also Ansem Seeker of Darkness in this AU is the Envy demon who keeps lending him powers, but who is also waiting for the day Riku will inevitably fall to his thrall to possess him and make him an abomination.

Kairi is a thief, among other things, but she’s first and foremost the princess and crown heir of some king (Ansem the Wise) who ran away from home since she hated both the concept of politics and regency and the rich. She’s trained as a bard and a spy, and uses that training to follow her own agenda, so in terms of comparison with actual DA characters, she’s a mix of Sera and Leliana. She also actually hates Orlais. She was at the Conclave as an actual spy to see how to turn the results against the Empress. She’s being chased around by Dilan and Aeleus, the regal bodyguards assigned to her since she was a kid, who just want her to bring her safely back home so she can become a queen.

Now, for some details a little on the specific side, AKA Which Characters Are What:

Roxas and Xion were twin mages who grew up in the tower. We are still deciding some details on how it came to happen, but they rebelled to the templars in their tower and their rebellion was suffocated in blood. As they were laying close to the embrace of death, two Fade spirits came to their help (Courage in Roxas’ case, Valor in Xion’s case) and much like Wynne’s case, they were granted a new life because of them. Since then, they have been forced into hiding from Templars. They were taken in by apostate Lea, and together with him and the rest of the Twilight Town gang, they’re all Red Jennies.

Lea is an apostate and an ex-assassin. He managed to run away from the Circle tower after his best friend Isa was made Tranquil, and he ended up taking in Roxas and Xion and helping them hide from Templars. Tranquil Isa was sent after him to retrieve him after he escaped from the tower, and after much fighting and many sad scenes (imagine Karl Thekla with Anders here) Lea finds out that the Fade spirits in Roxas and Xion can make him break out of the tranquility state, and from there they find a way through those to reconnect Isa to the Fade and bring him back from Tranquility. post-tranquility Isa is a Jenny as well, thought there is too bad blood with Xion and Roxas for him to be a “friend” of Red Jenny. He’s like an acquaintance of Red Jenny.

All of the Jennies become allies to the quest at some point, for various reasons. The main includes Kairi just being a wild and really powerful anti-rich supporter, and she also becomes a Red Jenny later on.

Naminè is Cole a Fade spirit of Compassion who was drawn to the living world by the sufference caused by the war. Her modality of helping suffering souls is to make them forget their grievances, but accidentally this causes those who were helped to eventually forget about everything, including Naminè as well too. Afraid of the suffering being unable to help was causing her, Naminè retired in an abandoned Templar stronghold, until Sora and co. found her, helped her regain control of her powers and took her along them in their quest.

The Wayfinder trio are all Grey Wardens. Aqua is a dalish arcane warrior mage, and the next Warden Commander after her master Eraqus sacrificed himself to end the previous Blight. Terra is her second in command, AKA Alistair a once Templar in training who was taken as a Warden from Master Eraqus and grew as his son. Ventus is a poor fuck who run away from Tevinter , while his twin ended up staying there, and he was recruited into the Wardens by Terra. 

The Wardens take the Destiny trio under their wing and they become their main ally in their quest to end Xehanort.

Vanitas was the very mistreated and experimented on disciple of Magister Xehanort, who also ended up running away from him after getting his ass kicked by Sora and co., catching the Blight in the meanwhile and was then found and forced by Ventus to join the Wardens to save his life.

Xemnas is the Black Divine who gets at some point rightfully killed by Sora and co. for helping and supporting Xehanort. Thus the Destiny trio caused the death of two whole Divines.

We are still deciding on some side characters but Ansem the Wise was a king who died to Xehanort and the reason why people want Kairi back to her home so bad. Larxene is Calpernia for the aesthetic. Marluxia is the court mage for the Orlesian Empress just For The Aesthetic. Demyx is this shitty assassin bard who was sent after the Destiny Trio at some point but didnt even tried to fight them, just asked them to kick his ass so he could not he killed by his boss

Year-End Thanks/Appreciation Hour

Seeing everyone else’s year-end posts is making me incredibly soft so I’m gonna make one of my own.  This past year has been hectic for me (like they always are), but knowing and meeting a bunch of you guys is probably one of my favourite parts. I have some specific things to say to specific people but know that if you’re here, reading this, wether we’ve talked or not, I love you a whole heckin ton. You’ve all made this a pretty great year despite the pit falls. If I had the time I would say something about each of you but there’s way too many of you to do that. Just...I love you guys. So much. Hope the new year treats you all well.

Corruption AU

Catch me tempted to start a whole AU based off my theory that Chase got corrupted at the end of Dark Silence and is living through slowly changing and growing sick and discovering freaky powers he didn’t have before and realizing this is what his comatose best friend went through before the August 3rd/March 5th operation was hijacked by Anti.

Oh god this might be a temporary muse but god am I about to blow it up real quick anyway. There’s details on it below the cut.

Henrik is the one who put Jack in the coma and regrets it deeply. Half-possessed by Anti in the moment he did it, he knew Jack would die unless he induced a coma to stabilize him easier than blindly trying to figure out how Anti his possessed self was killing him.

He wasn’t gone for 9 months but rather 2. In-game the time Jack flatlined was March 5th, 2018 and Henrik reappeared May 3rd, 2018. He has barely revealed any info about what happened in that time, but any time he’s opened up about it to the other egos, Jack’s comatose body, or in vlogs on the channel, he gets extremely anxious and can’t elaborate. He’s trying to coach himself into healing enough to tell the story so it won’t happen to others.

It wasn’t one big operation from August 3rd, 2017 to March 5th, 2018. Jack was in the hospital on and off suffering severe affects from Anti’s constant assaults on him. Anti hijacked the August 3rd operation and March 5th operations. He might’ve hijacked a few in-between but nowhere near the level of chaos and damage on those two days. (I haven’t decided yet lol).

Henrik saved Chase’s life after a suicide attempt soon after his divorce was filed (Bro Average) and is very protective of him, but stretches himself incredibly thin between caring for Jack, watching over Chase, and dealing with his own trauma.

Obviously Chase took over the channel for Jack in his place. The community is suspecting he’s him and not Jack slowly, which he’s somewhat worried about, but hasn’t seen any anger about it yet so he feels like it won’t be a big horrific reveal if he ever gives up the facade and comes clean. It was hard enough watching Henrik’s vlog announcing Jack’s coma.

Being that he’s running the channel in Jack’s place when that’s (one of many things?) what Anti wants to do in order to gain more power, Anti attacked him (Dark Silence) and this is how/why Chase is slowly suffering the slow corruption Jack did from October 2016 to now.

Chase blacked out for a very long time after Dark Silence but beelined for Henrik when he came to his senses. When he found Henrik, he started to grow unstable again and broke down about being cornered by Anti and not knowing what was happening to him now before completely snapping again. Henrik had to fend him off, restrain him, and then had a minor trauma-related meltdown because his best friend is going through what he did on August 3rd and March 5th. Little does he know, this is going to progress far beyond just two one-off traumatic possessions and a two month kidnapping.

Anti lurks around constantly in between times harassing the community or toying with Jack’s comatose body on occasion. He’s watching and very much savoring the downward spiral Chase is in. A majority of what’s happened since May 2018 has been Chase glitching and acting strange rather than Anti, hence the camera/screen glitching more often than his physical body. The remaining fractions of cryptic/glitchy videos has been Anti hacking into the channel and reminding the community he’s lurking. After each time he’s done this, Henrik and Chase have had to reset all passwords to Jack’s social media that they’ve been using to make sure he’s kept out.

Sometimes Chase doesn’t feel/realize/see the recording getting meddled with by himself until well after its uploaded and he sees the community panicking about it, other times he’s well aware it’s going on and is acting that way on camera on purpose because he’s experiencing corruption affects or having blackouts. He‘s ashamed of himself for letting the community see what’s happening to him. Little did he know Anti had cameras record what he did to Chase and uploaded it to the channel so they all already know something is deeply wrong with Chase. He doesn’t have the will to go into detail about everything and clarify, so even though he’s upset about all the different speculations and theories about what’s going on because most of them are incorrect, he’d rather leave them to their own devices because the truth is complicated and messy and would be way too much to explain in a video or post.

Not only Chase, but Henrik keeps in close communication with the community. He keeps them up to date on Jack’s condition, how he personally is doing, how anniversaries and birthdays go, if Anti makes any appearances off-screen around them, his progress with finding Marvin and small updates from Jackie.

Jackie and Marvin are Henrik’s best friends since before Henrik met Chase. They all met through Jack. The coma struck all three of them with different kinds of grief. Jackie stopped heroing for a while and has kept a pretty low profile. He’s too distraught to fight as hard as he usually does and he’s also terrified he’s next on Anti’s list. He Probably Is. Marvin has completely vanished and nobody has heard from him. The truth is, he’s wiped himself off the radar to practice every type of magic he can find a way to learn about. He’s relentlessly training himself to avenge Jack and keep Anti away from the others.

Jameson is a sort of wild card buzzing around wherever needed. He typically hangs around Henrik, who saved him between operations on Jack. Anti attacked him the moment he was created to get him either on his side or out of the picture so he had less loose ends to tie up. He mutilated Jameson’s throat and left him for dead (though Jameson was created mute, the subtle throat scar he has is a common misconception people have when they first meet him). Jackie and Marvin found him, brought him to Henrik, and he was saved. Now recovered, he’s slowly taught Jackie, Marvin, and Chase BSL (Henrik already knew it in case of disabled patients), and floats between places doing whatever he can to help. He knows minor medical assistance from Henrik and helps him with Jack sometimes, he guards Jack’s hospital room (he’s got rapidly developing time powers and he’s not afraid to use them), practices said developing powers on his down time, and just generally does whatever small things he can to make life easier on the other four.

Jackie and Marvin had no idea Dark Silence happened until they both (at separate times on their own) found Anti’s footage on the channel. They’ve sunken even deeper into the grieving/coping methods they developed after Jack went into a coma.

Quit the Game to Win, most (if not all) of the X Scary Games, 1 Video series, any other videos we’ve had random, strange, fiery panic-worthy behavior and glitches from since May 2018 are all Chase. If someone were to watch the videos consecutively, Chase’s deterioration would be a lot more clear, a lot more scary, and a lot more heartbreaking.

So far Chase’s side affects are small glitches, mood swings, nose bleeds, ears ringing, nightmares, random blackouts (usually in which he does cryptic shit or uncharacteristic and unnerving behavior during), headaches, paranoia, and several other (mostly mental) symptoms.

For now, Henrik and Chase are waiting things out. Both of them are very stressed, scared, and tired.

Might edit this (will reblog if I do) or just straight up reblog it with more info if I think up more,,,, if I ever touch this AU again?? Idk it was spontaneous and usually my muses like that don’t last long. XD But I’d be happy to keep this an occasional writing prompt thing or something... Hmmmmm...

Reese in Division

Thanks to mimeparadox for inspiring this. So one of the themes of PoI is that the federal government, despite doing awful and obviously corrupt things (like the CIA selling drugs), still isn't doing it just for Leverage-style "I get mine" reasons. No, those are reserved for organized crime and lower-level government, such as corrupt cops and soldiers. The closest we get are Congressman McCourt and Senator Garrison having rich stock portfolios, but even then that's not driving their actions, but just a nice side effect. PoI's point is that you could have a government that is totally sincere in their ideals, but they will still do horrible things. I've seen so many audience members eventually give props to Control and Special Counsel for sticking consummately to their ideals, when contrasted against the "stand for nothing" Greer. They were still patriots. Same for Terence Beale. I have this preface because in thinking about how Reese and Stanton would work within Division, I found that they wouldn't necessarily take on Division's non-patriotic missions. Yes, not even Stanton. Because they did join the CIA to be patriots, to genuinely serve their country, even after seeing some of the things they did in regular service (which is why Reese had left the military after 9/11). Kara became who she was in order to preserve her mental health. She stopped questioning orders and enjoyed the immoral things she did on the job so she wouldn't be eaten up by guilt, as Reese was. Of course, gloves came off once they betrayed her, and she was happily ready to burn everything once they did. And Reese did try to emulate Stanton as much as he could. But he was a little more bound to the patriotic ideals. As shown in RAM, he would quietly circumvent the immoral acts if he deemed him unimportant to the success of the mission. So, Division. First of all, we have to check timeline. Reese enlisted in 1993. Unfortunately, Division wasn't founded until 1996-1997. So there are a few approaches to this. 1) Reese is de-aged a few years and joins Division instead of the military. This is pretty great, because it means he's one of the pre-Amanda early recruits, mentored by Carla! Also, Jim Cavievel was born in 1968 and Rob Stewart, the actor for Roan, was born in 1961. (Annie Parisse was born in 1975.) 2) De-age him just about a year more, to 1998, and we get Reese joining shortly after Amanda joins, but before Carla was driven out. Sam was a part of Delta Force in 1999. In these configurations, Reese would be an agent mostly doing the missions as intended. The question would be if he would go quiet once Carla was ousted, or if he would go searching. There's also a question if Amanda would decide that he could be deployed on only above-board missions, like Michael, or have him cancelled for less than complete enthusiasm. 3) As noted above, Sam was part of Delta Force, before Amanda turned him into Owen. So if we don't de-age Reese at all, then he's a Special Forces Ranger by 1999. Now, Sam was flagged as Division compatible because of his corrupt actions, so the question becomes if the same flags for Reese being recruited for the CIA would also flag him for Division. If so, then Amanda would have to re-program him, like with Sam, which is not desirable for fic characterization purposes. But presumably, Amanda would only do this for non-intelligence agents, so this would have to happen before Reese joins the CIA in 2001. 4) Reese is a part of the CIA after 9/11/2001. Now, Michael was Naval intelligence, but Division recruited him by killing his family. (Timeline match: Michael was an operative for about 3 years before getting promoted to head of Ops in 2004-ish) For them to do that with Reese, they would have to frame Jessica's death as terrorist activity, with a lead on the perpetrators, but also in a way that would transfer him from the CIA with minimal fuss, and convince him that Division could help him in a way that the CIA could not. But at that point, Reese's moral code is firmly established. So he really would be in a Michael position, where they don't necessarily assign him the self-serving missions. But another point of the preface above about PoI's portrayal of federal government figures being true believers in their ideals is how it contrasts with the analogous figures within Nikita: Amanda doesn't believe at all, Oversight are deluding themselves even more than McCourt or Garrison, and while Percy has moments where he speeches like Control, all of his actions show the lie of it. So in those situations, I don't think Reese would ever desire to stay in Division, vs. other agencies. He'd either get cancelled or defect soon enough. The ISA AU is much more likely.

Sonic Psych AU Hospital Patients *NEW UPDATE*

✨Carlin Hildamatch

Age: Seventeen

Species: Hedgehog

Carlin is a teenage albino hedgehog. Growing up she was teased for her abnormally white quills and pink nose to the point that the bullies who tormented her cut off one side of her quills and they never grew back normally. Her family is the typical Mobian family with some setbacks and secrets. Due to the constant bullying Carlin was unable to do well in school and was losing control in her home life too. Around thirteen years old she began to isolate herself and became increasingly self-destructive. The bullying stopped during her high school years but the damage was already done. Depression set in at around fourteen years old, during her freshman year, where she tried to take her own life. She was admitted to an acute care in another part of town, where she enjoyed the stability and the comfort of people who understood her. She received medication and therapy during her stay. However her parents did not want her on medication or in therapy so all of that went away when she returned. This turned into an endless cycle of hospitalizations and a deeper downward spiral for Carlin. She was finally admitted to Winged Ring when she was seventeen years old after a stranger found her close to death in a running car. Carlin is Sonic’s newest case.

✨Nori Hurwit

Age: Fourteen

Species: Pangolin

Ever since Nari was a little boy he has struggled with anxiety and panic attacks. When he started school he couldn’t concentrate because he was afraid something horrible would happen to his mother. He would often fret about things that hadn’t happened yet that he felt would. His mother put him into the care of the school psychologist but it ended up making him worse as this is where he had his first panic attack. He refused to go back after that, afraid it would happen again. Eventually, as he grew, the panic attacks were more frequent and at unpredictable times. Before Ms. Hurwit knew it, her son was on multiple antidepressants and antianxiety medications as well as receiving bi-weekly therapy. Because of his panic attacks he didn’t leave the house very often besides therapy. On an especially hard day his mother became exhausted by his conditions and finally gave in to the inevitable. She would have to admit him somewhere for further treatment.

At first the therapy sessions went horribly with Sonic, Nori felt frightened and intimidated by Sonic’s loud and brash attitude. That was until Sonic, exasperated and exhausted, suggested for his patient to draw out his anxiety. Amazingly enough, Nori took to this fast and with much concentration. When he was done and he showed Sonic, the hedgehog was impressed and dumbfounded. The colors and the lines he used looked exactly as Sonic would expect anxiety and panic to look like. In no time, Sonic referred him to Nicole. Nori is Nicole’s newest case.

✨Gara Aberash

Age: Sixteen

Species: Gerenuk

Gara was always the odd one out because of his abnormally large eyes and ears. As we learned from Carlin’s tale, when you look different others treat you differently. He was bullied relentlessly, enduring physical altercations as well. His father was abusive to his mom and siblings. He learned to not only fight back his bullies but also his dad. He became a protector of sorts, resorting to violence to show his family that he cared and would protect them. One day, he fought the wrong person and ended up in jail. He had an assault charge against him and the judge gave him an ultimatum. Face time in a juvenile detention center or go to Winged Ring for anger management. He opted for Winged Ring, for the fact that if he completed treatment on time and accurately, he would return to his family. Upon arrival to Winged Ring he waz evaluated by Sonic, who was the on call therapist for the weekend. Gara was stoic and condescending and tried to fight Sonic. Unsure of what to do and worried about the mental state of his newest patient, Sonic consulted with his colleagues on what route to take. Believing Gara to be just another rebellious teenager, Sonic was ready to have him put into an anger management course. That was until Sonic received his case file and it was revealed why Gara was always furious and apprehensive. That weekend he enlisted Knuckles to teach Gara how to take out his anger in a healthy way. Gara is Knuckles’ newest case.

✨Auria Penson

Age: Seventeen

Species: Jacana

All her life Auria has hated how large her legs and feet were. She felt like a hideous monster. Her family tries to reassure her that it is a normal and inherited family trait but that only makes her hate them worse. She felt out of control of her appearance. To cope with the distress of her exterior she ate large amounts of food. Every time she felt sad after looking in the mirror or trying on new shoes she gorged on unhealthy amounts of food to calm her emotions. Eventually she began to gain weight, which only fueled her self-hatred further. She tried extreme dieting but when she became irritated or upset she would turn right back to food. Her father, who struggled with an eating disorder himself put Auria into therapy, hoping that it would help. The therapist she saw, however, refused to believe she struggled with disordered eating, even going as far to show her the average weights of anorexics and bulimics. This made Auria extremely upset. She ate until she violently began to throw up. Her father, fed up with the therapists’ incompetence, took her to the ER. The mental health evaluator believed she exhibited signs of an eating disorder called binge eating disorder, and recommended that she be sent to a far off eating disorder treatment facility or at least a residential center that offered an eating disorder counseling program. They found Winged Ring. After a brief stay up in acute care, she was transported downstairs and put into Blaze’s care. Auria is Blaze’s newest case.

✨Isas Eng

Age: Eight

Species: Binturong (Bearcat)

Isas was born into an extremely impoverished family. His family as well as many other families in his village were struck by poverty and grief after Eggman’s worldwide ambush successfully took them over. He was separated from them after a well-meaning but corrupted child protective program “rescued” him and transported him to Sonic and co.’s city.

After being nursed back to health and many weeks of prolonged and slightly inattentive silence, they decided the best thing to do was send him to a treatment facility. He was sent to Winged Ring with a small file and placed into the care of Sonic.

After five sessions of complete and utter silence besides knee-bouncing, Sonic was about to send him on to another psychologist in the building. But then he remembered Amy worked pretty well with kids.

A brief phone call later Sonic leads him to Amy’s office and he leaves it to faith.

Isas is Amy’s newest patient.

thinking about it further my ~cool scene~ that I jotted down in the last post might be bunk b/c ven would end up being part of the group to go looking for skuld (friends w/ terra who’s isa’s bf and isa & lea would be leading the charge on this one). UNLESS. I do some memory fuckery. which is honestly already canon. SO

new rule for this au is that keykids-of-the-past’s memories come back in pieces, and really only when they’re faced with emotionally charged reminders of their past, BUT, everything surrounding daybreak town is corrupted (think along the lines of taz balance w/ the voidfish). the memories are there, but they’re hazy and blurred and cut out in places in their mind. but their heart remembers, somewhere deep, deep down. they just have to find something to trigger their heart’s memories and it’ll iron out the kinks in their mind

so with ven and chirithy for example: ven remembers that chirithy is someone important to him, remembers that chirithy has always been with him (except for when he went to train with xehanort), remembers that chirithy is a guide and a confidant and shares a unique connection to both his heart and his keyblade (or at least his status as a keyblade wielder), but he can’t remember when they actually met, what they talked about, or why they separated

and later when lauriam and strelitzia are reunited: lauriam remembers that strelitzia is his little sister. he remembers her shy and compassionate personality, their shared love of plants, and that they’ve always kind of been on their own together. he also remembers that suddenly one day she went missing. but he doesn’t remember why. he can piece together that she died, both from her resting place in the final world and from his own depth of panic he feels when she goes off somewhere on her own. the suspicion and doubt about the trustworthiness of the people he should be able to trust more than anything at this point though, the creeping thoughts that plague him in the most inopportune moments... those feelings he can only guess at the reason.

so in that one scene I mentioned, it’s dark, Brain has aged (probably more than Lauriam at this point), and Ven’s not going to make memory connections until Brain reveals his identity. THEREFORE!! I can keep all the dramatics of Brain’s reveal exactly in place as they are >:3 

of course. this ALSO means that ven’s going to have a little bit of a mental break as a shitton more memories come flooding back to him, and with even more coming back with all of Brain’s explanations that he’s going to give. I'd say that honestly most if not all of ven’s memories would be back by the end of that little adventure, but ya know, *shrugs* minor detail

In what appeared to be the resumption of the face-off between the Executive and the Legislature took place in the Senate yesterday.The upper chamber resolved to ask Acting President Yemi Osinbajo to immediately implement its resolutions, including the removal of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Acting Chairman Ibrahim Magu.It drew a line in the sand, resolving to suspend confirmation of nominees until issues relating to the power of the Senate to confirm executive nominees as contained in the constitution are resolved.The Senate insisted that its resolutions, especially the rejection of nominees, must be adhered to by the Acting President.Those, whose nominations were rejected, the lawmakers said, must be relieved of their duties.The lawmakers wondered why the EFCC Acting Chairman whose nomination was turned down was still being haboured by the Executive.The Senate also resolved to ask Osinbajo to withdraw a statement credited to him that the Senate lacked the powers to confirm nominees.The resolutions came after over one hour closed session where the lawmakers were said to have discussed the issues that formed the thrust of the decisions.The lawmakers warned of dire consequences should the resolutions be ignored by the Executive.The EFCC is investigating some senators for alleged corruption.Senate President Bukola Saraki had read a letter of request for the confirmation of the appointment of Mr. Lanre Gbajabiamila as Director General, National Lottery Regulatory Commission, sent to the Senate by Osinbajo.Hardly had Saraki concluded reading the four-paragraph letter dated 12 June, 2017 when Senator Ahmed Sani Yerima moved a point of order that the Acting President’s position on confirmation of nominees should be discussed.Senator Yerima’s Point of Order opened a floodgate of attacks on the Executive as senators took turns to speak on the relationship between the two arms of government.Saraki, who summed up the contributions of apparently angry senators, alluded to this when he insisted that the resolutions must be complied with.Saraki said: “Distinguished colleagues, let me thank Senator Yerima for coming under Privileges. I think this matter is a very important matter but I think we need to address it once and for all and put it behind us.“Because as a society, we can’t pass laws and say these laws should not be obeyed. It is very clear these resolutions as passed must be acted upon by the Acting President.“And ensure that we continue to respect our democracy, our laws and constitution. It is not for us to choose which laws we obey and which laws we don’t obey.“That is not the way any civilised, modern society works. And we hope that the Acting President will take appropriate action in line with these resolutions.”Yerima (Zamfara West), who raised Order 14 of the Senate Standing Rules (Privileges), noted that since the Acting President concluded that the Senate lacked the power to confirm nominees, there was no need to acknowledge any letter from the executive on confirmation of appointments.He said: “I want to draw the attention of the Senate to a statement credited to the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo that the Senate does not have the power to confirm.“I was surprised to see the Senate President read a letter from the same Acting President, who said the Senate does not have the power to confirm a nominee from the executive.“I am raising this point of order to draw the attention of the Senate to this issue and urge that we suspend any further action on confirmation of any nominee until the issue is resolved.”Senator George Sekibo (Rivers East) asked the Senate to take a firm position and reject any attempts to weaken the National Assembly.Sekibo said: “A careful look at what is happening will tell Nigerians that they are trying to indirectly take over our responsibilities. The main function of the National Assembly is to make laws. The clearing of nominees from the President is one of the major functions of the Senate.“All the various laws made to establish agencies of the Federal Government state that we will confirm nominations into such bodies. When an Acting President says that the Senate has no powers to confirm, I wonder if he is familiar with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution as amended.“In a civilian democracy, there is nothing like an executive order. You cannot wake up and issue executive orders. You cannot also wake up and tell nominees to take over office. This goes contrary to the provisions of the constitution.“The moment you are playing down on the constitution, then you are playing down on the integrity of the Nigerian people. If the Acting President said we do not have the powers to confirm and he is sending a name that we should confirm, then what do we do? Senate should place a suspension on nomination until we determine whether we have the powers to confirm or not.”Senator Isa Hamma Misau (Bauchi North) lamented what he described as “the hypocrisy of the executive”.Misau wondered why “the National Assembly should always be blackmailed by the executive to do their bidding”.He said: “This is a double standard or an act of hypocrisy. It is like they do not want this National Assembly to function properly. Sometimes, we associate corruption with only financial misappropriation. But there is also corruption in the area of appointments. When you appoint your friend into an office, it is corruption. We are here to serve the people.“The National Assembly is being blackmailed. They stormed the house of the Deputy President of the Senate and the house of the Appropriation committee chairman. They lied that it was the police that carried out the raid. But we know that it was the EFCC. It is time that we challenged the executive whenever they attack us.”Senator Samuel Anyanwu (Imo East) said: “We must situate this issue. I am surprised that we still accept nominations in this chamber. We agreed that we will not take nominations again from the executive until certain things are resolved. We must take a stand. The leadership does not do anything about this issue within 48 hours, we will move against the leadership.”Senator Dino Melaye (Kogi West) said the Executive was always playing “blues and raggea.”Melaye, who is fighting for his political life because of the attempt by some of his constituents to recall him, said that the Senate should stand up to the Executive and its antics.He said: “There is a call on senators to serve Nigerians. It is time for us to tell the executive to stop playing blues and dance reggae. The executive must stop approbating and reprobating powers to itself. In this same chamber, we invited the Acting EFCC chairman. We invited him for a job interview and he failed. We rejected him.“As I speak, Magu is still parading himself as EFCC chairman. Now, the same executive is sending a name for us to confirm. We confirmed Resident Electoral Commissioners before we went on break. They have sworn in some people and have refused to do same for others. This Senate leadership must act and take a position.“It is time for the Senate to apply force. I am moving a motion that it becomes abominable for the Senate President to read another confirmation letter until the integrity of this Senate is respected by the executive.”Senate Chief Whip Olusola Adeyeye (Osun Central) insisted that it was incumbent on the executive to obey the provisions of the constitution.Adeyeye warned against attempts by the executive to destroy the Senate and insisted that anybody who is uncomfortable with any law should go to court to challenge it.He said: “These are frightening times. This is because many Nigerians, including many of us here, put our lives on the line to ensure that we have democratic governance in Nigeria.“We need to remind the republic that the difference between the military and a democratic regime is the existence of the legislature.“Every public servant is bound to obey every law of the republic. Nobody, not the President, vice or the Senate President has the right to disobey our laws. Whoever has problems with our laws should go to court and declare them null and void. Until that is done, every law must be respected.“I voted yes for Magu. But the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria voted no. I stand with the Nigerian Senate. I choose a strong institution. We should not allow our institutions to be weakened. I want to lend the whole of my being to the first realm of the estate, which is the legislature. I pray that we assert the independence of the legislature and not as a sign of power mongering, but to show that this is not the government of strong individuals.”Deputy Senate President Senator Ike Ekweremadu said that the executive must obey the constitution.Ekweremadu who cited different sections of the constitution, said Section 171 relied upon by the Executive to retain Magu talked about personal staff of Mr. President.He noted that the issue under discussion had nothing to do with Magu or the DG National Lottery Commission but has a lot to do with what the Constitution said.Ekweremadu said: “Let me make it clear that this has nothing to do with the Director-General of Lottery Commission or Ibrahim Magu, but about our constitution. One of the features of the Senate is the power of confirmation. The framers of the constitution gave the power to the Senate.“If the law says that an appointee requires confirmation, we must obey what the law says. The executive must follow the provisions of the constitution.”Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe (Abia South) caused a stir when he spoke of a vaccum in the Presidency.Abaribe drew the attention of the Senate to what he tagged a vacuum, following the two-day absence of the Acting President.Osinbajo travelled to Ethiopia on Sunday for an African Union (AU) meeting. He returned yesterday.Abaribe said: “The Acting President is the head of government now. We have a serious problem. As of today, there is nobody who is the head of government. The law and the procedure state that you cannot have a vacuum. The Acting President is out of the country and there is a vacuum.”Abaribe’s comment threw the chamber into confusion as some Senators agreed with him; others attempted to shout him down.He persisted until Senator Kabiru Marafa moved a Point of Order to stop him.For over 10 minutes, the Chamber was rowdy. Senators lined up on political affiliation.Marafa, who relied on Order 53(4) of the Senate Standing Rules, said the issue Abaribe raised was not before the Senate. Marafa said the constitution made it clear that in the absence of the President, the Vice President takes over and in the absence of the Vice President, the Senate President is the next in command and the President.There was a loud roar in the chamber as some Senators shouted “you are correct”.Saraki ruled Abaribe out of Order.“The issue we are discussing has nothing to do with what Abaribe raised. We may have to discuss that at another day if need be. I have to rule you out of order Abaribe,” Saraki said.He called Melaye, who reeled out the resolutions adopted by the upper chamber.Media and Publicity Committee Chairman Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi told a news conference that the import of the resolutions was that rule of law should be supreme at all times.He noted that the resolutions were clear – that the Senate should suspend all confirmations until the resolution of issues relating to confirmation as contained in the constitution.Sen. Abdullahi said that the Executive must do what “needs to be done at all times”.“We are asking the Acting President to respect the resolutions of the Senate. The Senate rejected Magu and Magu is still acting as EFCC chairman,” he said.
