How to get around Instagram's Paid Promotion ads on the explore page:
First you need to identify them without opening the post. Usually you can tell by seeing the same post in the explore feed after multiple visits. After awhile you can start to tell which posts are ads
Go to the post, tap the 3 dots in the top right, tap Not Interested, but make sure you tap the hamburger icon on your phone's nav system to see all apps as soon as you tap Not Interested and close Instagram before they force scroll to another ad.
Even after refreshing they'll keep showing the same promo posts on your explore feed unless you do this
Usually the paid promo is for clothes or makeup in my experience, so you can usually get around seeing any product/brand names
In the case of the 4 square size ad about 3-4 rows down you can use this method, but if you don't want to do that you can just close the app normally and the ad will be gone next time you go back
It seems like they have a count limit of some kind where they show you ads after a certain amount of visits. If you're someone who constantly closes the app and goes back minutes later like me this post may help make your experience less propaganda-esque :)
