Okay all, this is a big one. It's been brought to my attention by @bzy_hands on twitter, that there are less than 1000 reviews on rotten tomatoes for Season 2. They have an excellent point, Con DID screenshot Season 2. If you haven't already, please go over to Season 2 and review it to help get over that 1000 review mark.

== Let's Get OFMD On Gogglebox ==

Our crew-mate @queerly-autistic was kind enough to have written up a How-To on on getting OFMD on Gogglebox!

"One of the biggest things we can do to try and get Our Flag Means Death picked up by another network is keep making noise about it, and so I had a wild middle-of-the-night idea about one way we could do this: try and get the show on Gogglebox! For anyone who doesn't know, Gogglebox is an extremely popular and successful show in the UK on Channel 4, where ordinary people (and sometimes celebrities) watch and react to television shows, pop culture moments and films."

We’re under fifty! Just 7 weeks until the Nancy Drew premiere. There’s been a few crumbs on the show front, and the crew have been busy. Shall we?

Riley Smith announced that he will be joining the cast of Station 19! I’ve heard that he will be playing the new fire captain and president of the union. He’s been hinting for a few weeks that he’s working in LA - so glad he landed a juicy part on a major network show! It’s also Riley’s birthday, which he’s celebrating with his partner and friends including Maddison - Happy Birthday, Riley!

On the show front we’ve learned a few things since my last blog. Kennedy confirmed that she trolls us from within the show - she sat on the arm of the chair close to Ace in Season 2’s “Quest for the Spider Sapphire”just to get a rise out of us (thank you Katie for the prompt). In Season 4 news, Alison Thornton, a.k.a. Birdie, was added to episode 12 on IMDB in addition to Episode 3. Nice to see she’ll be recurring - can’t wait to see how Birdie plays into the season’s mystery!

An actor playing “Nurse” was also added to Episode 2. If you remember, this is the episode we saw a glimpse of in the M3gan trailer, and that Kennedy indicated had similar comic vibes to Burning Bride. Maybe Nancy will need medical treatment after whatever supernatural malady causes her to throw up something black (ugh).

In other cast news, Leah’s back in Vancouver after filming the Matlock reboot pilot, Maddison will be appearing at the Versailles convention in Paris, and Alex will be featured in the final 3 episodes (of 8) of Patricia Arquette’s new Apple TV series “High Desert.” We don’t know yet what his part is beyond “Ethan” (courtesy of IMDB) in the darkly comic detective series set in the California desert, but we got another photo from the wedding he attended with his gf, this one with the wedding party and friends including Kirstin Dunst (Bring it On 4eva).

That’s all for now - hopefully we’ll get the S4 trailer within a few weeks.

One of the interesting facets of the career of Kenneth Williams, who passed away this month (April 15th), 1988, was his long professional relationship with Michael Parkinson. In the beginning it wasn't easy, Parky later recalled that KW referred to him as 'north country nit' and 'thick Yorkshire git' in his diaries.

In late 1972, Kenneth Williams appeared on the Parkinson show with Sir John Betjeman and Maggie Smith. A conversation on architectural preservation broadened to include the right to strike, the behaviour of trade unions and working-class aspiration. Things got a little heated, although both Parky and KW were professional enough to know just how far to push it. Parky told Kenneth he was talking crap, Kenneth responded, "I've never been so insulted", which got a laugh and defused the tension.

Although it was quite mild in retrospect, the public response was such that Kenneth Williams was invited back for a full 70 minute show, with Michael Parkinson moderating a debate with union leader Jimmy Reid (Upper Clyde Shipbuilders' work-in) and including a Q and A from the audience. Kenneth did not get an entirely easy run, and appears to have underestimated Jimmy Reid's ability as a speaker and debater.

I have read (although not confirmed) that BBC controllers were unhappy at the complex political nature of the programme, and some of the confronting social conditions discussed, and insisted that the Parkinson show stick to light entertainment in the future.

Kenneth Williams continued to make appearances and was a prominent guest on the final UK episode (before the later reboot) in 1982. According to IMDb, he made a total of 11 appearances, including two on Parkinson in Australia; the only person to do more was Billy Connolly, but his spots included in the rebooted series from 1998-2004.

About the best encounter between Michael Parkinson and Kenneth Williams wasn't on the television at all. In July 1987, KW was Parky's guest on Desert Island Discs, for what was a fascinating, friendly and very warm conversation.

Michael Parkinson later said that he and Kenneth Williams were in 'no danger of becoming bosom friends', but expressed admiration for his talent and regretted that KW never really seemed to find professional or personal contentment in life.

Michael Parkinson turned 88 on March 28th this year (2023) and has just been seen out celebrating legendary cricket umpire Dickie Bird's 90th birthday.

Happy birthday, Buster Keaton!

Today is Buster Keaton's 127th birthday. Usually, my birthday posts for Buster wax poetic about the impact he's had on me, but this year I've decided to talk about my favorite Keaton film-- which also happens to be my favorite movie of all time-- The General. Perfect time too, since I watched the film again recently to celebrate Keaton's big day.

Ever humble and practical, Keaton would have never called himself an artist, and yet The General is undoubtedly more than a gag machine. It's one of the most visually appealing movies ever made-- Keaton and his creative team took the greatest care to replicate the Civil War photography of Matthew Brady, resulting in gorgeous compositions, evocative lighting, and a strong sense of period accuracy that outdoes most "serious" historical dramas of its time (and hell, ours too).

The elegance of the visuals is reflected in the taut, symmetrical, perfectly paced story. Critic Imogen Smith once said of The General in her IMDB review, "The General's narrative structure is as strong and uncluttered as its look. Like a train, it stays on track, never meandering for the sake of a laugh or a stunt. All of the gags rise organically from the coherent and straightforward storyline." On this recent rewatch, I was stunned by how quickly Keaton cuts to the chase (no pun intended). It truly is action-packed from start to finish.

Though the thing about the action in The General is that it isn’t of the over the top variety. Keaton’s antics on that 100% real moving train are not faked and that is a thousand times more thrilling than any CG setpiece in any superhero movie made in the last twenty years. So much of what he does in this movie could have killed him even if he had made only the slightest error, and yet Keaton somehow makes it all seem effortless. He never seems to be showing off what he can do or how expensive this all was-- as Imogen Smith says, even the famous shot were Keaton trashes a real train is presented with absolute understatement, something most Hollywood filmmakers would be loathe to do, then or now.

This movie has everything you could want packed into 80 minutes-- comedy, suspense, and action. I gasp and laugh every time I see it, and it’s a treat to watch with newbies, even those who wouldn’t normally take a chance on a silent film. For me, it is the finest movie Keaton ever made, one of the finest of the silent era, and one of the best movies of all time.

Looks like Charlie Vickers has another thing in common with Joseph Quinn as we currently don’t know when his actual birthday is. LOL :D Just like what happened to Joseph Charlie’s birthday was originally listed as October 30th, 1992 on IMDB, Wikipedia, and Google till “Rings of Power” came out and now it’s switched to February 10th, 1992. Some fans say you can go by older articles during the summer/fall but that’s not a good source either as most American journalists just go by whatever IMDB/Google says. We didn’t even know Joseph’s real birthday till a fan finally asked him and he gave us the correct one. So like one of my other favorites George Harrison of the Beatles used to do, who actually had the wrong birthday listed on his birth certificate, we might have to celebrate two birthdays for him. But will say to me I think Charlie being an Aquarius fits as so is Joseph and they do remind me of each other. :)

It’s probably not his team that removed his birthday on imdb, I think they couldn’t care less about the stuff. Anyone can edit information on that site. From what I saw It’s some stans doing and they have been arguing that that Ewan is Taurus and they have some sort of “inside info” which is so funny and petty. They’re weird.

At the end of the day it doesn’t matter which day is his birthday, we love Ewan for who he is not his zodiac sign. A guess here, he probably doesn’t want his fans to do online celebrations stuff that would gather too much unwanted attention for him? 🤔 like he wants us to focus on his work and communicate with us in a low profile genuine way as through a smaller local publication the face idk

On IMDB.com, someone made a list of celebrity lookalikes and someone posted how Bret Hart looks like Don Johnson from "Miami Vice".

While browsing Rowdy Roddy Piper's IMDB message board, someone said Roddy looks like John Ritter, and when it was Donald Duck's birthday last year in 2022 I watched that made-for-TV special about Donald Duck's birthday from 1984, and John Ritter appeared in that special and seeing John I did think he looks like Roddy Piper.

Happy 93rd birthday to Nancy Drew! On this day in 1930 the first book, “The Secret of the Old Clock,” was published. Of course in the show Nancy has 2 birthdays (real and made up by the Drews) - but our favorite Nancy couldn’t exist without the original and still the best girl detective.

Kennedy marked the occasion by using everyone’s favorite birthday thirst pic to celebrate. Love the interaction with RJ - and with the Drewds.

Speaking of everyone’s favorite cop (sorry, Park), we have RJ to thank for this glorious picture of him with the elusive Tunji at the Bridgerton: Queen Charlotte premiere (so good I posted it twice). They both look stunning. Love the slo mo of Tunji descending from the carriage (woof).

Now that all of the episodes have been added to IMDB, we now know that Tunji is in 4 out of 6 of them. So happy we get to see him throughout the series!

We also got see some gorgeous promo photos for all three women of the Drew Crew, while Riley’s back home from filming Station 19 and hanging with his best (little) woman.

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

So, who still uses Tumblr these days?

Apparently I do. It's 'cause this is my only personal blog page still existing. I have a devotional blog. Just wanna plug that 'cause Jesus deserves it.

Speaking of the Lord, it's His time of the year. For Christians, the rest of their lives is God's, but for most of the world, December 25 is His day.

This year, to save me from tears… Sorry. The sentence started with "This year," so I had to continue the lyrics. OK, so this year, I'm writing a blog entry here on Tumblr as my birthday gift to Jesus and my Christmas gift to the world. I actually planned to record myself singing a Christmas song while playing the piano, but we couldn't find our webcam. It has a good video quality and a very capable mic, and with it, I can shoot from an angle I want, so I couldn't film without it.

So here we are in Tumblr, and it's fitting because this is a throwback post. I was reminiscing on what I've been doing for Christmas through the years beside the gift giving to classmates and teachers as a student and the festive family dinners. What I was thinking about was the things I do, like a Christmas project of my own. I had to go back to my saved files of my deleted Facebook account that got hacked. Then I thought I could go further back to the very first blog I had because I had those posts saved too. The blogs were removed and, unfortunately, the site was shut down in 2021.

Let me take you to a walk down my memory lane of Christmas projects.

It was the year 2007. I wanted to know about the episodes of Disney's The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, and poof! I discovered TV.com, a website like IMDB where there are forums and users can blog. I started blogging, and I made some online friends.

Here was my Christmas post there. It's a poem.

I was 14 years old when I wrote this. I think I didn't make it clear enough that Jesus' goodbye there was when He died on the cross, not when He ascended to heaven.

The next year, I made a picture greeting. I had to recreate it because the image in the saved file has watermarks.

Counterclockwise from the top left, that's Aly & AJ's Christmas album, the main cast of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Jessica Simpson's Rejoyce Christmas album, and of course, the Jonas Brothers.

In 2009, celebrities joined Twitter, so I did too. I connected my Twitter and Facebook accounts so that my tweets get posted on FB as well.

I tweeted one of my favorite Christmas songs. (How do we say that for X now? I x'd 💀) That Twitter account got suspended, so I generated this picture. I got the tweet from the FB posts saved.

In 2011, we had this laptop where you can draw on the screen, so I made the 5 squares you see here that are made digitally. The other 4 are drawn on paper.

2013 was the year I started writing many poems throughout the year, so, naturally, my Christmas greeting was another poem.

2014 had a miserable Christmas for me because I had school on Christmas day. We were in the Middle East.

I got severely depressed in 2015, so I wasn't using social media. But, of course, I still celebrated it with my family.

In 2016, my FB got hacked. That's why all the FB post pics above are just generated images.

I made a comeback in 2017.

In 2018, my family was all together in our Church's multi-generational choir. Obviously, this isn't a personal project, but I want to include it here anyway.

That year, I also started playing Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

Our last Christmas in Bahrain was in 2019. It was our last time singing with the choir as a family.

2020 was our comeback to our home country, and after we got settled in our new house, COVID-19 was a widespread pandemic. It was a year of playing video games, making YouTube videos, and watching TikToks.

The posts below are from my Instagram. That's why there are hashtags.

2021 was a year of productivity. I released music videos of songs I composed and produced, started my Bible devotional blog, and joined a Bible study group.

I made this vid using Animal Crossing. This song's Phil Wickham's, not mine.

In November of 2022, God granted my desire to buy myself a piano.

There weren't any more new updates for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, so my greeting for 2022 was from its ever-updated mobile game.

This year 2023, Blackpink released its mobile game, so here's my greeting:

I thought I would just be looking back at Christmases, but it turned out to be looking back at my life. The Lord has been truly faithful. He keeps on sustaining me and my loved ones. I'm just glad the world recognizes this holiday where we can all celebrate love, which they may not fully understand it's of God. We enjoy the season together whether it's through music, gaming, or even literature like poetry or books, which I haven't done yet, but I just recently finished listening to the audiobook of The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. Now it has become a new dream of mine to publish a Christmas book.

So, I ended up sharing myself. But what I want you to see is how Christ is the most important that I make effort every December to do something special.

Representation: In the short film we follow a leprechaun called Paddy who is about to be 121 years old, and he is working with other leprechauns to make shoes for the poor. He is given the task to deliver these shoes to different houses in Ireland but faces some problems when he encounters a Greedy landlord that wants to steal the leprechauns´ gold, making paddy think of a solution to get rid of him and outsmarts him, protecting the gold and making it intime for his birthday celebration.

Reception: The short film was originally presented on theaters but other than that there is not much information about how the people reacted to it.

Hello, It has been a while since we have written an actual blog, so it is difficult to know where to begin on filling you in on our North American adventures. Lets start with the important stuff; we ate Sushi and Twinkies, we drank Amaretto Sours and Mountain Dew and we saw Ashlee Simpsons new nose. Then we settled in the lovely township of Quinte West to begin dissapointing everyone with our as yet unnamed noise concept debut. During our three weeks here we have learnt a lot about ourselves, mostly about Ollie and his wonderful Mary Poppins style of existance.

From this point forward this blog is called “An Ode To Ollie,” Ollie has embraced the town and has climbed up a mountain (literally not methaphorically) and surrended his wild locks to a local barber emerging an even more handsome version of himself. (At this point Ellen would like to add that she has also sampled the local hairdressers, unfortunately her experience was not as pleasant and she had to have her hair done twice due to a translation issue.) Ollie has also taken it upon himself to wash up, tidy, put away and cook and generally amaze us all with his Delia Smith/Martha Stewart/Nigella Lawson housekeeping ways. He has also upped his Oestrogen levels by doing the Nell McAndrew “Ultimate Challenge” workout dvd with the ladies of the house…Mr Motivator has nothing on him, so keep an eye out for “Exercising with Ollie Campesinos!” at your local Woolworths branch this Xmas. We have also celebrated a Campesinos! birthday whilst being here, with Harriet reaching the ripe old age of 22. There was wine, beer, nibbles (oh the nibbles), more wine, more beer and some champagne! There was also a tasty Tiramisu (lovingly prepared by Tom) here is a photo of it on Gareths face.

Tom was slightly dissapointed to find that the crackhouse next door was being torn down during our second week, we have left him to get over this loss by encouraging him to visit the “massage parlours” which are dotted around town. We have been indulging in some wonderful tv treats, such as the brilliant and thought provoking America’s/Canada’s/Britain’s next top model, arrested development (hopefully that balances out the superficiality of the aforementioned programs) and have viewed one of the most heart warming, tear jerking and mentally demanding films ever to be made: the intellectually stimulating “In Her Shoes.” This film was not given enough credit when on general release, according to IMDB it wasnt even nominated for an Oscar! The “men” of the band have been watching football whilst playing football manager and talking about going to play football at the local football pitch. The recording has been going well, with good progress being made whilst consuming vast quanities of Dorito’s, Ben and Jerry’s, cookies and for the smokers of the band far too many Marlboro Lights (other cigarettes are avaliable.) There is also a rather disturbing sewn image of Barbar in the studio which has led us to not only question the moral implications of enforcing monarchical ideas in childrens cartoons but inspired us to make our most interesting work to date. Hopefully. Maybe. On that note, we’re off to see Superbad, coz it looks well good and Mr Beans Holiday finished yesterday before we had a chance to enjoy that visual feast. Gutted. Also, Ellen has lost her bank card and Aleks’ bank won’t let her take any money out so if any of you generous souls would like to wire some money our way it would be much appreciated. National Crush Rashmika Mandanna is going places and her popularity graph is only growing exponentially with her talent. The glamorous doll has entered the most popular Indian Celebrities list on IMDB. The leading movies site, IMDB the other day declared that Rashmika Mandanna has become the third most popular Indian Celebrity. IMDB via its Twitter handle stated that the success of Pushpa-1 and her recent birthday celebrations made Rashmika a national celebrity and she became the most talked about celebrity on her birthday. This has made this Kannada beauty enter the top list of Most Popular Indian Celebrities and secured the third position. Rashmika got fans in almost all parts of India since the release of Pushpa and she is currently the most sought actress in South India. Rashmika is currently working on the sequel Pushpa: The Rule opposite Icon Star Allu Arjun. She will be seen as Srivalli, the wife of red sandalwood don Pushpa Raj in the sequel, which is being made as a Pan-Indian film.
