my elaborate post-canon universe....

#just thinking thoughts...#stray bird thoughts #I want to make a timeline. of events you know. that happen in the postcanon universe #I say it like there's one but there are multiple variations #like for example in MOST universes sagisawa becomes and artist #but in some universes he goes to med school with umino (weird and oddly specific and draws from nothing said in canon)#so then his solo show doesn't happen...#in all universes the fic 'karasuma-kun is old enough' 'no he's just a child' happens #this is an unwritten fic of mine that is largely a dialogue between marilyn and tatsume #can you guess who the one going 'he's old enough' and 'he's just a child' is?#where they eventually go together to persuade karasuma's mom that he should be the one carrying the responsibilites of united wings rep #and so as a result I think united wings rep becomes his inevitable full-time job after getting a college degree in political science #like the only reason he wouldn't be doing united wings shit is if there is suddenly no more conflict between humans and birdmen. and well.#I'm not THAT optimistic LMAOOOO #It really feels like a huge variable is what Takayama ends up doing #I think there's quite a number of universes where he's just doing whatever he feels like and is often absent from Karasuma's life #influencing things. changing things from outside the scope of what Karasuma can do. things like that.#I think there are very few universes where Takayama becomes like. a Normal Guy holding down a Normal Job #but delightfully enough Chorus is one of the timelines in which that DOES happen! delightful!#I think his 'downloading birds' thing gets ignored in most timelines though....#like his overarching absence is a greater issue than the fact that he has extra birds in his head #I like to think that fiona and umino get married in most universes. I just think they're neat #and I get the feeling this is a rarepair to hell because I've literally never seen anyone write about it but #I think kamoda and irene would have great chemistry...#I think not even in a romantic sense particularly. I think they would just rock it as roommates you know #oh well. just mumbling

omgggg lenora you're backkkk hiiiii 🥰🥰💞💗 i missed seeing you on the dash the past weeks so much 💕💕💕🫂

i'm doing good right now actually! (putting a read more here in hindsight because of the ramble lmaoooo)

i'm doing a course to start taking driving classes. which... happens to be in the evening so that does kind of suck actually. but yk exciting to finally get it out of the way! and i'm also almost done with it by now, there's only this week (including the weekend uhm) and part of next week left and then i'll have a normal schedule again akdfhad

(i usually have an atrocious sleep schedule but somehow being out until almost 10 and having to eat dinner then is fucking it up even more. good to know a bad sleep schedule can always be worse if you try hard enough🙏, maybe that'll finally motivate me to improve it when i'm done with the course crying)

and i'm also crossing some things off the list of chores no one in the family has done in ages since i've accepted they're not happening otherwise. like taking my grandma's cat who didn't see a vet in almost 10 years to one last week and she shockingly didn't try to kill me!! (surprising because she's genuinely insane. there's baby photos of her trying to bite people's arteries open. i love her and she has issues. she's cute too, no matter how many of my relatives think she's butt ugly, it adds to her charm. she does look weird tho i admit that. also really fat, big girl, i had to buy a whole new carrier to even fit her into it 😭) big fat cat who hunts mice for fun, looks weird as hell, loves biting people and is also the most touch starved cuddly cat i know, she contains multitudes

she's fine but i'll have to take her again in a few weeks, i'm convinced she'll return to her killer roots now that she remembers what a transport carrier looks like. but i'll just be optimistic about it until her teeth are in my arm 👍

byproduct of that is also that i'm trying to exposure therapy my way through my crippling fear of making phone calls to officials and doctors and so on. thanks insane cat of my grandma 💗 it's a process but it's definitely getting easier

also side effect from all that is that i haven't really been on tumblr much the past 2 weeks either (i mean i say that, i am actually still on here but i usually just scroll and don't have time to reblog/post when i'm on the go. tumblrina is a chronic condition for me i fear)

but there's also not been that much production news for ST or anything i could have missed out on so good timing :D

Luzie is a Lawful Good through and through, though it can occasionally dip to neutral, she's got a strong compass.

HIGH.

I'm going with regular non-au Luzie on this, overall she doesn't have any super bad body issues, but being down one eye and having a very noticeable scar certainly causes her some discomfort outside of a battlefield. Modern AU she hates how fucked up her knee is.

19. How do they view the world? Are they an optimist? A pessimist? A realist?

Overall I'd say a realist, but she hopes for the best. If there is no hope, fighting for a better tomorrow becomes An Ordeal.

Delta:

4. How do they feel about sparing women and children if given the choice? Do they value certain lives over others? (while she was still in active service)

Civilians are not targets, therefore they won't be in her sights. Kids certainly have the most leeway.

6. How far would they go to save someone they love? Would they sacrifice themselves? Others?

She would possibly sacrifice herself if it was someone she was close with, but would not ask the same of anyone else.

15. How do they kill? Do they try to minimize suffering? (again, while in active service)

Quickly and efficiently, or well...bomber role.

20. Are they codependent? Do they have abandonment issues? (i'm sorry but i had to, i know it's low hanging fruit 😘)

Oh she's definitely co-dependent. They gave the Tomcat separation anxiety.

Romeo- Active service in 'nam. He has a bodycount.

Kirill- Didn't see much action in his active service.

Romeo- It may be the 1am brain talking, but I can't think of any regrets besides not having a higher killcount.

Kirill- His service record is as clean and empty as a freshly abandoned Wal-Mart.

Honestly I think the current moral panics around sex and gender and anything vaguely sexual is part of why I'm so fixated on my Love-Live!-clone-but-it's-about-burlesque idea. Because I want to make something SO CUTE and SO WHOLESOME and SO SUPPORTIVE AND HAPPY with FUN MUSIC and LIVELY CHOREO and CUTE OUTFITS with DRAMATIC COSTUME CHANGES / REVEALS

the kind of thing you could find fun even if you've never been turned on in your life and aren't starting now. the kind of thing that's so unabashedly joyful and optimistic it's embarrassing.

and it's about people getting naked, ostensibly at least in part for sexy reasons.

Obviously darker and less joyful sexy things can also be fun (ahem), but I want to make something that's SAFE and COZY with some tiddy (boytiddy too) in it.

It wouldn't change minds, probably, but I want it to be there right now.

Thoughts on the Powerpuff Girls reboot? I'm personally way to excited!!

Omg no way!! You’re actually the one who told me! I’ve been so busy studying for my test that I didn’t even know! This is so exciting!!

Truly, I think the most exciting part is Craig will be running it! :) like I can’t be mad 🤷‍♀️ whatever Craig does, I’m just excited that new kids will get to see what we saw and fall in love with the series!! I hope the show gets the facelift it deserves, and we get to see the girls in a new light. Like idk maybe we’ll see something where Bunny is treated the way she should have been, along with a more diverse set of characters, who don’t lean so heavily on stereotypes like a typically 90s show. Food for thought!!!

(Omg I hope they bring back the og voice actors!!! That would be AMAZING! And I bet they’d be interested :)))

But I can’t help but wonder why Warner Bros/Hanna-Barbera is doing this, you know?? The 2016 reboot didn’t do well. The CW, obviously didn’t do well either. And outside of the niche fandom, i don’t think there’s like a huge demand to bring the show back. Maybe Gorillaz helped out since Ace seems to be so popular there??

Maybe Warner Bros is trying to capitalize on viewer lash-back by bringing Craig back, but I don’t think they’ll pull any sizable adult audience if the show remains just a kid show, so there goes the nostalgia factor. But hey, the WB Animaniacs reboot did very good!!

Lmao I also bet Craig is just tired of people tanking his stuff, and wants to set the record straight!! I would be too 🤷‍♀️ except now I’m terrified he’s read bad fanfics of his show and is going to make a few jabs at us lmaoooo 😂😂😂

I am a little worried though, like I naturally am with all reboots, that the things that made the powerpuff girls so great, is something that networks generally dont allow anymore. Cartoon violence has definitely gone down. Stupid toilet humor is hard to come by. And animator ideas are constantly shot down. I mean, it’s Hanna-Barbera, not Disney, so maybe it won’t be so bad, but good cartoons get tanked fast because of conservative tv ideals (look at Craig’s other show Wander over Yander—very popular; cancelled early)

Ik it won’t be the 2016 reboot that tried too hard to get kids to like it, but OOF fingers crossed Craig gets the creative space he deserves to make a really really good show!

Here’s what I’m really hoping for: (1) Warner bros/Hanna-B see that people are frustrated that good shows are getting canceled pre-maturely, (2) starts becoming the network artists *want* to go to, and we get to see real stories again, instead of half-baked ideas b/c Disney sucks lol, (3) Cartoon Network gets back to its glory days! And like maybe Craig can pave the way 🤷‍♀️

Haha, who knows, maybe I’m being too optimistic! I just like animation and I want the industry to remain creative. I’m sorry this ended up not even being a lot about the powerpuff girls lmao but censorship is something I worry about in media, and the og ppg is one of those shows I don’t think would have happened if it were originally made in 2022. Like please, no offense, I dont want to sound like an old grumpy person, but Bellum’s of design wouldn’t fly nowadays even though it’s a satirical critique on how old cartoons drew women. I mean look at Alex Hirsch’s video on his S&P notes with gravity falls. Ik it was Disney, but they couldn’t even say “bottles will be spun” to imply teenagers making out. They couldn’t use the word “crud”, but back in the day on Codename Kids Next Door (which I argue really does need the squeal/reboot people petitioned for) crud was used every other sentence.

ANYWAY, I hope Craig is allowed to stay faithful to his original designs, and make the content he deserves to make �� I’ll be there on the sidelines supporting him every step of the way lmaoo

ugh since someone at my work got fired last week the schedule has been completely out of whack. i don't get consecutive days off this week, and then i'm working six days in a row again. including a few shifts that are later and not my usual one.

i'm sure i'll get through it fine but it's really hard not to look at it with my usual "this is going to break me" mindset. i'm becoming a lot more resillient, but damn i didn't want to test it like this.

#day to day life is so overwhelming and exhausting when you're autistic lmaoooo #i can't help but experience the present moment in such excruciating detail #especially now that i'm not in a situation where all i'm doing is just biding my time to get to the future and dissociating as much as i can #i dont really know what the happy medium between those two extremes are...#when the world is neither so terrifying you are desperate to escape #but also not so painstakingly... tedius? exhausting? i'm not sure how to phrase it #it'a kinda like the opposite of dissociation i guess. being painfilly present in the moment #and also terrified that that present moment may well be the last straw #because i'm so used to that being how my life works--i am fragile and the next thing to break me may come at any time #but for the past few months i've really been getting my strength back #it's agonizingly slow going and i am still too exhausted to do as much as i think i should (tho will i ever?)#(the answer is no i wont as long as i keep holding myself to NT standards)#(but i'd at least like to be able to socialize a few times a month. maybe even someday be able to socialize enough to have a partner)#(but that may be wishful thinking i dont know)#anyway i have been doing much better but it's still so hard to go into my oncoming work schedule feeling optimistic #i'll come out on the other side. i just hope i dont have to go through hell to get there #personal

the 5 words that cause anxiety to every I Love Yoo reader who's been through at least 1 of the 2 long breaks lol

But I'm so excited for Episode 180, I'm sure the break probably just means Quimchee needs more time to work on the episode and we'll get fed! Also, we already suffered 7/8 months through the stalkyoo fight, what are a few more weeks then? At least we finally saw them talk and reconcile.

That being said, what are your predictions and perhaps hopes for Episode 180? Or what do you hope doesn't happen?

Hahaha! I THINK if quimchee was intending to do a much longer break she'd be warning us, but hahahaha! I assumed, yeah, she just couldn't get the whole episode ready in time and rather than rush or cut it in half she did the reasonable thing and took off the week. But yes the timing is so funny lmaoooo

I don't know if I have any real predictions, but I guess I do want to see some confirmation that Nol has decided to stay with his friends? The fact that he made the effort to actually go to Shinae, he literally took the step to her and face her, feels to me like he has decided that he can't - and shouldn't - walk away from his friends. I don't know if Shinae can actually get through to him that easily, but her point that he isn't ACTUALLY protecting her from Yui by leaving given her circumstances is a REALLY IMPORTANT point.

I might be being too optimistic, but to me, that whole moment when Nol and Shinae throw each other's words back and forth - the "Did you really mean everything you said?" "Every last word" - and Nol's decision to climb up and join Shinae reads like he's made that decision because why else do it, right? I don't think he's joining her to say goodbye for real, or he would have left when she told him to go on and get lol. He had multiple opportunities tonight to leave and I think joining her on the rooftop is Nol deciding to accept his friendships and embrace them. Maybe he'll still go to university out of country, but the important thing is that he's not severing those ties, that when he finishes serving his time, he'll heave friends to return to (and friends to visit him and talk to him if he wants that).

Also ngl I wanna see Shinae give Nol the hug she promised haha. I think there's something poetic about how their first and last hug was so PAINFUL and tragic and, when you consider that conversation, it hurts even more. We all thought he'd hugged her because he couldn't bear for her to think their friendship never meant anything, but instead, it was a hug of apology, because it was true, he hadn't meant it at first, it WAS all a lie at first and he felt apologetic towards her (and probably to himself, because that friendship had come to mean something and he didn't believe he could protect it). So to go from that terrible, painful hug to one of reconciliation, to starting again, to being more honest? Ugh yes I want to see that SO badly.

I imagine that also means Nol will join Shinae at the party - and lmao having to explain where he came from hah! I feel like there's a chance Soushi might be more reluctant to forgive but that's a pretty baseless feeling lol. He just feels like he might need more explanation than Dieter might.

I'm keen to see Nol and Minhyuk meet, though. I've made it clear that I think they won't necessarily get along very well from the start and even though Shinae seems like she'll be able to forgive Nol and is happy that they can reconcile, I think it will be harder for Minhyuk to accept. He'll probably grudgingly accept him, but in the kind of "you're on really thin ice and if you fuck up again I WILL kick your ass" kind of way lmaoooo like. Shinae made it clear that she cares about Nol a lot and Minhyuk clearly isn't used to seeing that side of her, of people mattering to her, so I think he'd try to understand her even though he likely wouldn't think much of Nol at this time?

That's probably all I really have for theories, though lol I'm pretty up in the air. It'd be nice to see Nol smile at some point. Just... let go of his dark feelings for a moment and revel in the comfort that despite it all, there are people who have come to care about him, and they are people who are important to him, and hopefully have a few moments of peace and maybe even happiness before he has to go away for a while aaaaaahhhhhhh!

Okay so I was a longtime fan of the games! I played them since I was pretty young, I think since they were out, I don't know when that was, but I played wild hunt a lot of times. so ever since I heard there was supposed to be a Netflix TV series.. at the beginning, I must say I was very skeptical, because I didn't really believe it would become a series?? like that would be too optimistic to believe, I don't know. and then when I heard the superman actor was to be cast as geralt.. well.. you could imagine my anger. yes, I was angry, because I didn't really like him in superman, and I didn't know how they could transform him into becoming the rugged, dirty geralt we all love. But then when I saw the promo pictures and the trailer I was t h i r s t y!! And so I was like okay fuck everything I'm going to watch this series. And so I did xx

I think I answered that about geralt but I want to talk about the other characters. So let's talk about yennefer first. In the games she looks pretty distant and she really scared me lmaoooo. In the series they cast the beautiful, lovely anya! She immediately gave something else to the character that I knew and this casting is beyond perfect. Dandelion? I really didn't like him in the games. I don't know why. Just wasn't my favorite. Then the series happened.. you know the rest!! 😍😍 Ciri? Wow really liked her casting. Triss? Different than the games but I don't really mind!
