20 Questions for Fic Writers!
@dreamstone28737 tagged me on this fun thing <3 thank you love!
1- How many works do you have on AO3?
32! Holy shit that's a lot.
2- What's your total AO3 word count?
351,009 words and counting. Again, I'm shocked at how much I've got done lol
3- What fandoms do you write for?
Right now at this moment, Bridgerton.
4- What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1st- You Belong With Me - 821
2nd -Falling For You - 451
3rd - You're The Only Thing I'll Ever Need - 423
4th - Lost, Drifting - 407
5th - Faithfully - 397
(The next one is Bad Habits which never stops to surprise me just how many Kudos it gets since it was one I thought I wouldn't get anything from.)
(God, I need to update my WIPs)
5- Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Honestly? Only when I feel I have something to add to the comment. Sometimes I see a comment with "Great Chapter/Episode" (which I really absolutely love, btw. Any comment makes me so damn happy I can't even explain) and I never know what to say to that and I don't want the person to feel I don't care about their comments when I just reply with "Thanks! I'm Glad you liked it <3" and I keep thinking about different things to read and I never can and when I see it, I have a bunch of unanswered comments which makes me overwhelmed to start.
So yeah, I usually only reply when I know what to say lol
6- What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Ending? (none? lol)
Posted, I'd say "The Way I Loved You", which I thought the ending might be kinda open? I don't usually do sad endings. I think "Faithuffy", "Of Noble Blood" and "You Belong With Me" have some rather angsty parts, along with "Lockdown" which touched a rather sensitive part of me. But all the endings were/will be (THEY WILL HAPPEN I PROMISE!) happy.
Unposted, it's probably "A Dead Man's Tale" which I'm writing right about now and I hope to start posting by Halloween on Tuesday (fingers crossed). The ending is... sentimental? Idk Kinda sad but happy too? I have no idea how to describe that. Either that or Raise a Little Hell, my Bonnie and Clyde, which will be my only NHEA story ever(if), when I get to write it.
(Feel free to tell me which of my fics you think it's the angstier. I'm curious!)
7- What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
All of them? Lol
Walking The Wire because I finished it? sdakljfkdsgh I have no idea. Maybe Lockdown bc it's such a hard battle to end happily in the end.
(Which of my fics yall think is the happiest? Please tell me bc I have no idea.)
8- Do you get hate on fics?
Not on the Bridgerton ones, thankfully. Everyone that reads it is amazing which makes me really happy.
I had a pretty harsh time when I started on the Reylo Fandom in Star Wars. Not fun, I'll give you that.
9- Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I write hotter scenes, although I don't think I've ever finished an entire sex scene. That said, I have a one-shot called Stockings that is about 85% done which is porn/no plot that I might one day finish but I'm not that much of a fan of it, to be honest.
10- Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Unless you count crossover with Julia Quinn's own other series, no I don't.
11- Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I am aware of.
12- Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, which is kinda sad because I am a translator and I could very well do it myself lol but Idk if there are too many Portuguese-speaking readers that would be interested in it, and although I speak pretty good Spanish, I'm a tad out of practice and I don't master the written language nearly enough to attempt to translate something to Spanish.
13- Have you ever co-written a fic before?
A long time ago in a Galaxy far far away. It was... nice. And not at the same time. I hold myself to very VERY high standards, so I'm extremely self-critical and working with someone with different styles and ideas can be really harsh without trying to dictate the way you want the story to go. Plus the three times I did, we ended up giving up halfway through the story lol
14- What's your all-time favorite ship?
This is a stupid question and I hate it. I'm not good at picking. I am deeply, truly in love with Kathony, and have been for the past couple of years, but if I had to say at the top of my head, the oldest OTPs that have been in my heart, the ones here for the longest time and never really left are Percabeth from Percy Jackson and Jily from Harry Potter. Reylo and Rebelcaptain in Star Wars were also a very big part of me for a long time and I love them.
Asking all-time faves is mean.
15- What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Sought you, Sang you, Dreamed you, my Reylo Kidfic. I love it so much and I am so sorry my baby, but I can't focus on Reylo anymore. I have complete faith I will finish all my Kathony fics one day, I really do.
16- What are your writing strengths?
I honestly have no idea. As I mentioned, I am very self-conscious about what I do and I have incredibly high standards about myself. It's not uncommon to see me saying I hate my story and I won't post it and it's absolutely shit, I have no idea why people read it. So pointing out a quality is really hard.
I guess I'm good at dialogues? I always felt they sounded nice, idk.
17- What are your writing weaknesses?
I'm running a risk of repeating myself too much if I mention standards and self-consciousness, don't I?
I am terribly wordy. Nothing I do is short because I need 1k words for something I could have done in 200. I always feel people will get bored by it.
I also sometimes feel I have issues representing the emotions I'm trying to put through in my story. Many times you'll find me going to a neutral third party saying "Please tell me what's missing here." bc I feel it lacks.
Let's not mention the lack of self-discipline and the amount of time it takes me to write a story/update something. And overthinking things. Also coming up with more ideas than I have time to write.
18- Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I do that all the time? I am a native Portuguese speaker and English is my second language.
19- First fandom you wrote for?
Lol that's going far back, isn't it? I have been writing originals since I was 10 (I have a lil notebook with the first story I've ever written, it's adorable, but as usual, incomplete), but in 2011 I was obsessed with a soap opera called Rebelde (the Brazilian version, when I liked the Mexican RBD one, I didn't really know what fandom was yet. BUT I'M GOING TO THE CONCERT ON THE 9TH I'M SO EXCITED) and my first fic was a Roberta x Diego one, which is complete and (unfortunately, -or not- not all of it) available in Nyah Fanfiction, although I wish it wasn't bc it's truly shit. Like very very very shit. It was crazy, she died of lung cancer in the end. I swear to God, I had no clue what was going on with me at 14.
20- Favorite fic you've written?
Okay, look, this is not fun lol
I truly, honestly can't pick. Each one is special for me for a different reason. The Way I Loved You was my first Kathony. You Belong With me my first WIP and I have such a special place for it. I could go on and on for hours. I love them all, even the ones which are not my faves (Bad Habits, Reading Project).
But I will be absolutely thrilled if you guys tell me your fave of my fics. I would love a lot to know.
I'll tag @mimix007 @waterlilyrose, @harnitbee, @bellascarousel, @ladystanbury, @searching4paradiso, @alihightowers and her dragon people and @suspendingtime

@leupagus requested, and her wish is my command. At least on a Monday morning when I'd rather be thinking about fic than my weekend email backlog. So:
List five of your least-popular fics, as well as when/why you wrote them.
the green place, Word of Honor modern AU, YeXie, 2021
This was a little string of YeXie Week ficlets based on word prompts. Friend Ritualist* and I had been batting around some ideas for a Plant Witch Xie'er fic in the DMs and I thought I'd use YeXie week to play around with the character voices/world a little and see how I liked writing those two. I had a lovely time writing it, but semi-connected short ficlets where the rimming is (just barely) off-screen are a hard sell. Also I left it marked incomplete for a long time thinking I might go back and finish out the week's prompts, so I'm sure it got passed over by the very wise people who don't read WIPs. No regrets, I like knowing Plant Witch Xier'er is out there even if he'll probably never really get written.
*babe, I'm blanking out and can only think of your pro author tumblr name and not your fandom one, if you're seeing this and wanna be linked, drop your fandom url in the comments and I'll link you up
The Desert Dreams of a River, Darkangel Trilogy, Aeriel/Irrylath, Erin/OFC, 2019.
Yuletide fic! With the hit count you expect for a Yuletide genfic based on one of your formative pieces of circa-1982 fiction about a girl trying to reform a vampire while they live on the terraformed moon. Written in a frantic haze just short of deadline, if I recall, as I'd started a different angle on it that didn't quite work. I'm not saying this story was just an excuse to get Erin a wife, but it was sort of that, since the prompt didn't really allow for Erin to wife Aeriel. (But she SHOULD HAVE. Let Aeriel Have A Husband And A Wife.) I loved these books so much. Unfortunately something must be really fucked with the licensing because only the third of the trilogy was available as an ebook at the time and that doesn't seem to have changed? Pick up a hard copy of the first book if you ever see one, though.
every word is nonsense, Only Friends, Ray&Sand, 2023
Another little tidbit of a fic as an exercise in character voice again and also how much I liked how much the show likes their smoking scenes. Look. I'm a person of a certain age who smoked like a chimney as a teenager and into my early twenties, and I can't help the programming that got into my bones about the inherent eroticism of sharing a cigarette. (lolsob, high five to my fellow Thai BL nerds, how are we all doing this week with the one-two- punch of the DFF shotgunning scene and the new 4 minutes teaser? it's fine, i'm fine.) I wrote this thinking that next I would write some RaySand smut and then didn't because the whirl of Thai BL fandom pulled me on to something else, but at some point I want to rewatch this show and may still write it then because it fed my FirstKhao shipper heart so well.
dizzy in your wake, Nirvana in Fire, Changsu/Jingyan, 2020?
I'm not the one who said "what if Mei Changsu were a were-octopus," that was a series of amazing twitter threads by @astronicht. But people just KEPT sending it to me because I am known to think octopus content is very cool and also to be a Mei Changsu Girlie, and eventually a couple of friends shook me until 600 words of ridiculousness came out. What surprises me is not that this one has few kudos, but that it has >10 kudos at all. I would say this is the most niche and silly thing I've written except I've also written MDZS/Jupiter Ascending fusion fic, so let's not pretend I have any dignity left. Written in 2020 but it didn't get posted until later because I don't usually post things this short. At some point I was in one of those "it's an ARCHIVE, we should put ALL THE THINGS THERE" moods and slapped a few NiF ficlets written for the group chat up there.
A Second Dose, Hannibal, Bev/Freddie, 2016
This was the thing where you write an odd little rarepair and it's so much fun you come back and do a sequel you hadn't meant to write. I'd written Bev/Freddie before and then when a Hannibal rarepair fest came around I was like, hey, what if I did that again. Possibly I just wanted to revisit the cat named after Rosalind Franklin that I'd made up for Bev.

20 Questions Writer Meme
I was tagged by @60sec400 ! Thanks friend, this is such a fun thing to be tagged in! 🥳
1. How many works do you have on ao3?
13! I've only been posting for a little over a year, so I'm pretty pleased with that.
2. What's your total ao3 word count?
111,651 words! Another number I'm really, really pleased with. I had a tentative goal of trying to publish 100k words between September 2022-September 2023, and I met it! 🥳
3. What fandoms do you write for?
At the moment just Percy Jackson, though I have written for a bunch of fandoms over the years - Harry Potter as a kid, Star Wars pretty much always, some Tamora Pierce, etc etc etc - I just never posted any of it publically until this past year, lol.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
'Is it blasphemy if he's my dad?' (2,517)
'some have entertained angels unaware' (1,462)
'it's how you swing it' (1,177)
'more things in heaven and earth' (1,054)
'a thin barrier between two worlds' (1,021)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes! I am so incredibly grateful that people take the time to leave me comments that it feels like the least I can do to respond kindly to them. Sometimes I get so busy that it can take me a few weeks to get to them, but I always respond to every initial comment that someone chooses to leave me! I also try to continue to respond to folks who want to have a conversation about plot, or characterization, or what might be coming next, but I don't always continue those conversations indefinitely. So I encourage those folks to come talk to me here! ☺️
6. What's the fic you wrote that has the angstiest ending?
I tend to not write angsty endings, lol, because I make myself too sad if I don't end a story on a hopeful, or at least more ambiguous, note. But that being said, I guess it would probably be 'to sleep, perchance to dream?' That ended on an anxious note, since it was a prelude to a dangerous moment.
7. What's the fic you wrote that has the happiest ending?
I hope that almost all of my fics have happy-ish endings, lol! But if I had to pick...the most clear-cut happy endings are probably in 'some have entertained angels unaware' and 'come wash my war paint away.' They are two VERY different types of happy endings though, one meant more ah, euphemistically. 💀💀💀)
8. Do you get hate on fics?
So far, no. I've had a few comments where folks have let me know that they've disagreed with creative decisions that I've made, and even though those can sometimes sting a little bit, that's more of a 'me and my overly sensitive soul' problem than anything else. It definitely hasn't been hateful! I admit, I sort of live in fear for the day when I get my first one, since I don't imagine I'll be able to avoid haters altogether. Especially because I have some very, very dark fics planned, that are going to tackle some pretty ugly topics. 😬
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes, lol, something that has honestly really taken me by surprise, since I never thought I'd write it! So far I've only written very sweet and fairly vanillla canon compliant percabeth smut - and one very experimental fic where Aphrodite essentially propositions Annabeth (and also Percy, through Annabeth 💀) - but I actually have a lot of plans to write more, lol! I have a sequel to 'to burn and to boil' in the works, and 3-5 smutty wips at least, in outline form. It's mainly percabeth, though a few are potentially percabeth + friends. 💀
10. Do you write crossovers?
No, not yet, but I'm open to the right idea! I love a good crossover.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so? I've had folks write fics inspired by mine, but they have used the 'inspired by' feature in ao3 and tagged me. Which I find incredibly flattering, so I welcome that! 💙
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I don't think so? If you want to do that though, please feel free! I'd love it if you let me know, but you don't have to. 💙
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, but I'd LOVE to! I think collabs are so interesting, and I'm curious to see how my writing practices/style/etc. would mesh with someone else's. So if anyone wants to do that, let me know! I'm not 100% sure I currently have the time, but I'd love to chat about it.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
Oh God, this one is REALLY hard! I think it might actually be a tie between Percabeth and Luke×Mara, from the Star Wars Legends-verse. They are the two that have made me feral for the longest, because I fell into the brainrot for them both when I was about 12 or so? And now I'm 30, so, lol. 💀I'm not currently writing Star Wars because PJO has me in a chokehold, but whenever that loosens, I'll probably try posting some of my many, many Luke×Mara ideas.
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but don't think you ever will?
I really want to finish all of my wips, and AM actively moving towards that goal, but I have one that I am really, really nervous to finish and post, because it's SO DAMN dark. The working title is 'still half-perfect,' and it is a mash up of a fic I tried and failed to write while sick with COVID - some of whose plot points I reused for world-building - and a majorly fucked up dream I had earlier this year. I think it's going to be a compelling story, but I also think I will get hate comments if I post it, because it is SO DAMN dark. So I'm still working on my courage with that one.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Folks pretty regularly tell me that my characterization is really good, and I've gotten some amazing comments saying that my works really feel like a part of the PJO world! I cherish those. 😍 I've also been told my descriptions and imagery are evocative, and that my technical writing skills are good. I tend to think that I am good at contextualizing and synthesizing information, and am pretty good at foreshadowing!
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Sticking to any type of writing schedule, RIP. 😭 My ADHD genuinely makes it so hard for me to predict when I'm going to be able to focus long enough to make progress, and I haven't developed really any disciplines that help. I also think I am inclined to be too wordy, and I have spent a long time trying to work on being clear and concise. And, I'm definitely just very sensitive about my writing! I get sort of panicky if folks tell me they don't like what I've written, cause I feel like I've let them down/am a failure/other unhelpful and untrue things that I know about myself that am working on.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I'm open to it, but most of my language skills aren't really good enough to entertain the possibility, lol. I could probably finagle something in Spanish, but I'd be leery of using others without help.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter, LMAO. I was maybe...10? the first time I decided to try to write fic, obsessed with HP, and the results were both very short and very hilarious. It was also handwritten in a Lisa Frank notebook that I am certain that I no longer have. 😂 But definitely PJO after that!
20. Favorite fic you've written?
This is a hard one, because I don't publish fic I'm not satisfied with? I like all my fics for different reasons! I think that some of my best writing is in 'to burn and to boil,' but that's such a weird, horny story that I know most people probably won't read it. 😂 But probably the story I am most happy with all around- plot, dialogue, pacing, tone, characterization, etc - is 'some have entertained angels unaware.' I genuinely, truly, love that story, and I re-read it whenever I'm trying to get myself back in the writing groove. 💙
Thanks glockness! 💙🫂💙 This was super fun! Let me know if you have any questions, y'all! I'll tag @ashilrak ❤️

20 questions for fic writers
ahhh thank you so much for all the tags to @cha-melodius @myheartalivewrites @daisymae-12 @read-and-write- @indomitable-love @happiness-of-the-pursuit and @cultofsappho!! <3 I've been reading through all of your posts at work and I can finally respond!!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
19 (with one of them being fanart)
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
62,441!
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Red white and royal blue
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Déjame Ver Cómo Es Que Floreces
Solo Déjame Estar Junto a Ti
Isn't She Lovely
Whataburger, Whatanight (this one surprised me lmao)
the sadness you carry, it hangs like a ghost
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do! I used to get back within two days but with the boom of readers it turned more into a week because it got a bit overwhelming, but things seem to have slowed down in my stats and I'm hoping to go back to my usual response time! I love engaging with everyone that comments and have had the most lovely interactions <333
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Probably the sadness you carry, it hangs like a ghost because it literally ends right before Henry has his panic attack with Alex in the car
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I think every other fic has a happy ending, but I make people cry with Dejame Ver the most! I wanna tally them up someday - get a percentage of that and the comments that I get in Spanish lol
8. Do you get hate on fics?
No *knocks on wood*
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
No. Have written a scene in a WIP that's sitting dormant but am very self-conscious about it in general
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
No crossovers!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No. I daydream about translating Dejame Ver but my Spanish is more conversational (LMAO I literally got into the funniest argument with a cashier on what escabeche meant yesterday so I would also have to unpack my regionalisms lol). I'd like to expand my vocab, especially through literature, if I ever took that on
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No. I think my writing process would drive a co-author nuts lmao
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Firstprince
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
i have one that I've never mentioned that's a big canon divergence that makes it so alex and henry have even more beef but it's a slow burn and would basically have to be novel length. My attention has since wandered to shorter ideas, but it's one I'd like to share someday even if it means chopping it up
16. What are your writing strengths?
I feel like I'm pretty good at writing friendships and how characters play off each other in banter. I am pretty proud of my dialogue! And I think my writing (when it's not angst) has a very welcoming and homey feeling.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I feel like my writing can be very literal and I could stop and smell the roses more when describing things haha I can click into that mode sometimes but other times I don't have the patience to be super descriptive. I think this also translates into pacing - just wanna get the show on the road lol
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
hehehehehe (love it)
I'm hoping to figure out footnotes for my next fic especially bc there's a lot of Aztec words/concepts that are niche and I don't want to pull readers out of the fic too much when they'd have to google things
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Either Twilight or Maximum Ride
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Dejame Ver is a pride and joy, and readers' reactions to it still make me all soft and mushyyyy. I've gotten a tiny bit jaded about it bc my family is now a shitshow BUT I try not to let that ruin it for me!
Witchy WIP is gonna be right up there because I feel like it is just an explosion of my creativity!!! I truly went fucking nuts writing it
Tagging @sherryvalli @kiwiana-writes @suseagull04 @cricketnationrise @historicallysam @xthelastknownsurvivorx and anyone else that would like to share more about themselves!

20 Questions for Fic Writers
@inkoherentwriting, @bretongirlwrites, and @wispstalk have all tagged me in this so I should probably do it (this is not a complaint! I love tag games, I'm just think it's funny).
I'm not sure who of my usual list writes fanfic so this is an open tag.
1 – How many works do you have on AO3?
151 in total. Druidx has 107, and my pseud for PodFics, Dru-Pod, has 44
2 – What's your total AO3 word count?
Currently 246,748. (I've got three other large fics in the works that'll bring that up to ~500k when posted.)
3 – What fandoms do you write for?
My main ones right now, by number of works, are:
TES IV: Oblivion
Fighting Fantasy World of Titan by Steve Jackson & Ian Livingstone
Starbound
Thunderbirds Are Go (2015)
Those in the past, and that will never grace AO3, are (in order of recency):
Star Wars (Savage Worlds TTRPG)
Sherlock (2010)
Star Trek: Deep Space 9
Discworld
4 – What are your top five fics by kudos?
Technicolour Nightmare (Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion)
Flowers and Ice (Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion)
Crimson Storm (Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion)
Family Treasures (Thunderbirds 2015)
Avoiding the Emperor (Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion)
Technicolour Nightmare is a kind of a surprise, because I don't think it's one of my better fics, and was a half-assed kinda throwaway story about a feverish HoK being rescued and cared for. For the longest time the top fic has been Flowers and Ice which never surprised me given that it's very much about Everyone worrying about Martin doing something stupid, and then descends into the HoK worrying about everyone, and ends with the promise things will be better. Avoiding the Emperor is also not a surprise, since it was the very first thing I posted on AO3.
5 – Do you respond to comments?
I try my hardest to, when I get them.
6 – What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Of those posted, it's probably Bitter Winds and Rain, which is about Aderyn not handling Martin's coma well. Young Dagger, False Dream which is drafted but not yet posted, comes a close second with Alexis feeling forced out of the group she thought were her friends after an ideological split.
7 – What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
TIL a lot of my fics have an upbeat ending XD At First Blush takes the win, I think, with Methredhel and Rhiannon's kiss.
8 – Do you get hate on fics?
Gotta get comments to get hate, eh? The worst I had was on Tumblr for No Rose Without a Thorn, where someone was rude about the OC I was writing about (wasn't even my OC - I'd borrowed someone else's which might be why it made me angry).
9 – Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Nope. I have tried and tried and decided it's not for me. It's never been published, because it makes me cringe at how bad it is. The most you'll get from me is some heavy petting and a fade to black.
10 – Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Dinner Time is probably the wackiest crossover posted, with the main Trio from Oblivion and some characters from Fighting Fantasy World of Titan. I also started a crossover with the Trio from Oblivion and the main characters from Thunderbirds (2015), but that's unlikely to see the light of day
11 – Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge.
12 – Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, but I'd be honoured if anyone ever wanted to.
13 – Have you ever co-written a fic?
Not a fic, no. I tried co-writing an original story and it did not go well, and has soured me towards the idea TBH.
14 – What's your all-time favorite ship?
That I've written, I suppose I have to say Martin/Baurus since I've written 26 fics about them... By fave to read though is Bilbo Baggins/ Thorin Oakenshield (Bagginshield). TBH though, shipping isn't something that I really bother with much; Martin/Baurus was for a friend.
15 – What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Her Lonely Shadow is currently the top contender. It's the 'what happens next for Alexis Dalliance' story, set after the end of her campaign and before Elo's campaign. I've been writing it since 22 Apr 2015, it's still on the 1st draft sitting at 174,266 words. I don't feel like it's ever going to be finished...
16 – What are your writing strengths?
Pacing, the balance of prose to dialogue, descriptions, and character voice.
17 – What are your writing weaknesses?
Plotting, subtext, and making sure 'c' grade characters still have some 3d-ness to them.
18 – Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
All for it. I think it's fun for a character who doesn't speak that language to have to figure things out from body language or other social cues, or muddle through with their broken skills. In fantasy it's less risky though, because you can mash words out that sound good, but for IRL languages, you need to take a bit more care. One would hope, however, that if a native speaker has an issue with something I've used Google Translate for, they would mention it in the comments so I can fix it.
19 – First fandom you wrote for?
Discworld.
20 – Favorite fic you've written?
... I'm going to do them by fandom because this is an unfair question XD
Starbound - Home That Our Feet May Leave, But Not Our Hearts
FF/World of Titan - Dead Reckoning Returned
Oblivion - Abecean Blue
Thunderbirds 2015 - Family Treasures

20 questions for fic writers
Tagged by @cnnmonbimee!! Thanks so much!
1. How many works do you have on Ao3? Actually same as Hime, 28! I have more when you add on fanfic.net, but I'm working on getting those over.
2. What’s your total Ao3 word count? 122,557, which I feel like is a lot!
3. What fandoms do you write for? 20 total for TBHK, with the next place trophy going to Hetalia.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Four Questions (Hetalia: Axis Powers) (3,377 words) kudos: 405
Let's Take a Selfie!
Teach Me Astronomy, Amane-kun!
Miracles Take Time (Hetalia: Axis Powers) (19,821 words) kudos: 184
My number one kudos fic is something I wrote over 10 years ago alskdflsjkd But I am surprised at how many the selfie one has, it was just an idea I had. Didn't think it would be somewhat popular!
5. Do you respond to comments? I try to as much as possible!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Probably "Until Midnight" due to the ending, but probably also "Everything Has an End". I don't typically write angsty fics or fics with sad endings.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Most of them LOL! I'd probably say "Hey There Lovina"
8. Do you get hate on fics? I have before! Not on AO3, not that I can remember however. But if people hate a fic, that's ok! They're allowed to have that opinion and I'm not a trained writer or anything, I just write for fun.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I tend to have ideaaaaaas, but I'm not confident in that kind of writing so I probably won't ever post any of them. Making out or referencing something is the closest I usually get.
10. Do you write crossovers? I have! I don't like those that much tbh. I have one on AO3, I had two before on Fanfic.net.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? ... No?
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Also no!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Not yet ;)
14. What’s your all time favorite ship? So talking in general, it's probably SyaoSaku from CCS! In terms of writing it's HanaNene from TBHK.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I actually have a Mario fic that I started writing when the movie came out because I heard a song and got a great idea, and there's a HanaNene skating fic that is mostly done... A few other oneshots too.
16. What are your writing strengths? I don't know if I'm qualified to talk about my strengths lol, but I think maybe connections?
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Again, I don't know if I'm qualified to judge myself properly, but the fact that I'm just not a great writer. My vocabulary needs to expanddddd.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? Listen. I wrote fics for Hetalia. I used Google Translate, used books to translate, asked people for translations, and also relied on commenters for any troubles. I don't mind if others do it just because I'm used to it from long ago, even if the translation is not quite right.
19. First fandom you wrote for? Technically technically, I used to write little ficlets for Jimmy Neutron back when Nickelodeon had forums on their site! Did I save any of them, of course not, so they are lost to time.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written? "Teach Me Astronomy, Amane-kun!" I started this fic during Covid-19 and at the time I really wanted to write for TBHK because none of my friends watched/read the series and I had so many intense feelings since it became my new obsession. And because I had read so many fics that had Amane obsess over space, another obsession/hobby of mine, I wanted to combine the two to create an (somewhat) educational fic. It was really fun to tell people about an event and to hear in the comments what people saw/did. I fully intend to continue the fic and already have some drafts made up, but this one out of all my fics I desperately want to continue.
Thank you for the tag, Hime! I don't normally tag, so if you see this and want to do it, just tag me 'cause I'd love to read yours!

Note
#10 through #20.
For any that require a fic title, take your pick 😘
TANIS
10. Is there a fic that got a different response than you were expecting?
"Diaz, Party of 4" has more kudos than my next most popular 911 fic by almost 100% and I have never written abo like that, so I wasn't even sure it was going to be something people wanted to read, so very surprising!! (And pleasant!!)
11. Do you have specific playlists for writing fics?
Nope.
12. Do you have a playlist for your current WIP(s)? Share it!
Nope. Lol.
13. How much planning do you do before writing?
I usually think about it for a day, just roll it around in my head for some time, then start writing, so not... a lot?
14. If you could see one of your fics adapted into a visual medium, such as comic or film, which fan fic would you pick?
"Kindle" I'd love to see Eddie being kinky in a fucking home depot.
15. How do you come up with titles for your fics/chapters?
Stare, cry, for the love is a burning thing series, I Google "fire words" eventually something comes to me
16. At what point in the process do you come up with titles?
Usually at the end, but sometimes in the middle or at the beginning. Depends.
17. What’s something you’ve learned about while doing research for a fic?
You can live with only one lung. Fire fighters probably don't get paid enough. And Dalmatians used to be carriage guards because they were good around horses. Also the invention of green bean casserole
18. What’s one of your favorite lines you’ve written in a fic?
This isn't posted yet, but: “That's fine, just know that when this time you need passes, it's gone. You can never get it back. And we will continue living our lives. I'm not trying to be mean, it's just true.”
19. Give us a small teaser from one of your WIPs.
“My tia told me that he was going to be a babe magnet after my wife left. She said the single dad thing was irresistible,” Eddie said. He pulled his hand back and flipped the sandwich over a few times on the plate. “I want you to be my friend, Buck, and I want to be yours. That's all I can offer right now. Is that enough?”  Buck rubbed at the condensation on the glass with his thumb, then nodded. “It is. As long as Christopher is also part of the deal.”  Eddie grinned. “A two-for-one special.”
20. What’s a favorite title for a fic you've written?
"And I'll never see you again if I can help it." I've listened to this song more than 100 times in the past 2 weeks, and I want this line tattooed on my thigh. If you ask me in a week, I'll have a different answer.

Year in Review
Thanks @nyamadermont for tagging me!
1. Number of stories posted to Ao3: I posted and/or updated 20 stories in 2022.
2. Word count in 2022: 80,023
3. Fandoms I wrote for: Legend of Korra and Avatar: The Last Airbender
4. Pairings: Linzolt, Linzin, Baavira, and Tyzula
5. Stories with the most:
Kudos: The Weight of Empire (Baavira)
Bookmarks: The Successor (Kuvira & Opal)
Comment threads:  The Successor
Word count: The Successor
6. Work I’m most proud of (and why): I think I'm proudest—or at least fondest—of An Armada of Shoulds, It's probably my favorite Linzolt thing that I've written. I'm proud of it because it was my first attempt at writing from Zolt's point of view and I think I did a pretty good job with it, considering we only see him twice or so in the source material.
7.   Work I’m least proud of (and why): Agni Kais was supposed to be a grand, sweeping Tyzula reunion fic that touched upon the origins of the Republic City triads, but in the end I only wrote one chapter, and Azula wasn't even in it.
8.   Share or describe a favorite review you received: I adore every single comment that every single reader takes the time to write! It always makes my day when I see a notification for one in my email! But I guess my favorites lately have been the ones where readers tell me I've convinced them to ship something they either hadn't considered or were ambivalent towards before.
9.   A time when writing was really, really hard: Alwaysssss! But especially as I tried to work on Chapter 17 of The Successor (and still haven't succeeded in finishing it). I was trying to get inside Opal's head and write from her perspective, but it just wasn't working, so I decided to take a break from it for a while.
10. A scene or character you wrote that surprised you: I enjoyed writing Tenzin in Tether more than I thought I would! Also, if someone told me back in 2020 that I'd become a Zolt stan, I probably wouldn't have believed them.
11. A favorite excerpt of your writing:
"Lin and Tenzin were very different, but with work, they worked. He liked his curry puffs mild and with mung beans, and she liked hers filled with five-spice pigchicken, and it was fine—so long as she didn’t try to kiss him too soon after dinner. Sure, he wouldn’t come with her to Kwong’s Cuisine or the ostrich-horse racetracks, and she wouldn’t meditate on Air Temple Island or help brush the bison, but they met in the middle, with walks in the park and afternoon spars and simple meals at mom and pop restaurants.
It was enough that most days Lin could forget the soulmark she’d been born with—a swirling flame on the fleshy pad at the base of her thumb—or the nonbender’s fingerprint that had appeared on his shoulder three years back. Most days the soul bond hummed faint as a song on the radio two rooms away, vaguely there, but not immediate enough to command her attention.
Today was not one of those days," from Marked, my Linzolt soulmate AU.
12. How did you grow as a writer this year: I tried to branch out a little by writing different tropes like a coffee shop au and a soulmate au.
13. How do you hope to grow next year: This year I'd like to work on my emotional range as a writer. I write a lot of fluff, and I'd like to branch out into some other fic categories like angst and hurt/comfort. In short, I'm trying to make y'all cry this year!
14. Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc):
@orangepanic is such a prolific and talented writer (and also really nice and supportive of other writers)! Reading her work always inspires me to get back to my wips!
15. Anything from your real life show up in your writing this year: I think my lifelong love of city life has shown up in some of my Linzolt fics.
16. Any new wisdom you can share with other writers: Write what honestly makes you happy, not what you think you should be writing, if that makes sense.
17. Any projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year: I have about three more chapters planned for The Successor and they will get written this year! I'm also really excited to keep working on House of the Flaming Boar, my au story in which married Linzolt end up as Mako and Bolin's foster parents.
18. Tag some writers whose answers you’d like to read: Anyone who'd like to participate!

21 Answers for a Fanfic 2021
1. fandoms you wrote for this year Warehouse 13 2. favorite fic you wrote this year Strata (but only because And Now You was written almost entirely in 2020!) 3. favorite fic you read this year too many to count. I love that @apparitionism is putting her Tumblr fics on AO3 and writing new ones - definitely reawakened my appreciation for her writing! 4. favorite opening line/scene you wrote this year The opening scene from Flying, in which Myka stands in front of Claudia's apartment, because she wanted to surprise Claudia on the occasion of her birthday, and realizes that Claudia isn't at home; that, in fact, Claudia is at Myka's apartment because Claudia wanted to surprise Myka on the occasion of her PhD. 5. favorite ending line/scene you wrote this year The ending of Strata. You thought the story was complete, dear reader? Let me cliffhanger you with a promise of Part Two, muahahaha. 6. a trope you wrote this year Lots of Hurt/Comfort, of weary protagonists finding shelter, understanding and care with each other. 7. pairings you wrote this year Bering and Wells, baby. Bering and Wells. 8. a fic regret from this year I should have given the Halloween fic more time to mature. I wanted to put it out by/on Halloween, and it wasn't really ready. Good thing I write a) chronologically and b) have a habit of posting weekly, which gave me time to polish up the chapters I'd written but wasn't happy with, and (drum roll) re-write the ending! 9. a song that helped you write None. I need silence when I write. 10. total number of fics you posted 7! 11. total number of words you posted 434,243 - but that is skewed because it counts And Now You in its entirety, even though it was posted from September 2020 until May 2021. 12. most popular fic written this year Again discounting And Now You, and going by hits and by kudos, it's Strata. 13. least popular fic written this year 1899 - but then that's the youngest fic, too, so that's only to be expected. 14. longest completed fic you posted this year Stata again! 15. shortest completed fic you posted this year 1899 again! 16. favorite character to write about this year Myka Bering. And H.G. Wells. Who'd've guessed... 17. a fic you didn’t expect to write both 1899 and 2020 were pretty much a surprise! 18. most memorable comment/review I've gotten several comments along the lines of my fic being comfort reads, like hugs, something the commenter returns to for joy. And they make me so happy! I write these stories for my comfort - Bering and Wells is truly my happy place; writing for them allows me to live, for a while, in a world where I determine what happens, where I can make my protagonists happy (eventually). This gives me so, so much joy, and then to get comments like that? To hear that what brought me so much joy writing now brings you joy reading - and re-reading?! That touches a very tender spot in my heart. Absolutely feel hugged, all of you. Mwah! 19. trends you noticed in your writing this year Hurt and Comfort, and always a happy ending (don't worry, Strata readers! Part Two will deliver!) - like I said, these characters bring me comfort and joy, and I need that, and so I write that. Don't know if it's the result of *gestures at everything* or something that's always been there (or a bit of both, I suppose). 20. fics you wanted to write but didn’t I honestly have two dozen plot bunnies/outlines in my WIP folder, and several fics beyond the outline stage. But I guess technically that is writing already, so I'll go with "another Christmas story" and add "but probably next year!" :) 21. something you want to write next year Well, like I said: Christmas story. You'll also get Part Two of the Road Trip Saga, called Commutata! I'm editing it with my wonderful beta reader to make it the best it can possibly be - and I don't think it's too premature to say it'll be finished in 2022. Don't know if the Pirate AU will be done in 2022, but I'm already 25K into it, so here's to hoping! Beyond that, who knows :) I for one am looking forward to it, and I hope you are too.
If you have any questions or comments on my fics or fic plans, please go ahead! I'm always happy to hear from you. thank you to @curator-on-ao3 for the template!
