hi! i’m an artist and i thought it’d be a cute idea for a one shot about eddie munson seeking out artist!reader to help him draw what his D&D character looks like to help him better visualize the character(i know he’s the dungeon master but i imagine he has a character for when he’s not DMing). and while reader is helping him he starts to develop a crush. :) no rush to do this, just thought i’d share!
I Want Something More Than This
Pairing: Eddie Munson X fem!artist!Reader
Summary: You help Eddie out with his dnd character and he ends up falling for you in the process.
Warnings: Mutual pining, friends to lovers
Word Count: 1.4k
a/n: i hope you like this !
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eddie excitedly walked into your ap art class, his hands hidden behind his back as he eyes met you. You were sitting at a table working on the latest assignment your teacher had given you.
The classroom was entirely empty except for you, your teacher and the three other kids who were also taking ap art this year. Eddie hoped you would agree to creating his very specific idea.
Once he reached the table you were sitting at, he came up behind you while your attention was still on your new piece of artwork and covered your eyes with his hands. You gasped the second you felt the cold metal of his rings softly hit your now closed eyelids.
“Guess who?” he somewhat quietly said, not wanting to be too much of a disturbance to the other people in the room.
“My favorite dungeon master?” you joked with a smile on your face and a raised eyebrow.
“Correct, m’lady.” Eddie replied as he removed his hands from your face, causing you to push some of your hair behind your ear as he had accidentally messed it up.
He then sat on the stool next to you, prompting you to speak again, “What’s up? You never come in here during lunch.” you curiously asked him.
“I was wondering if you could possibly help design my dnd character. Like I’d describe him to you and then you’d draw him. I wanna be able to visualize him better.” he quickly explained, a nervous tone in his voice becoming more obvious.
“Sure. Come over my house after school today and I’ll draw up a sketch up for you.” you happily responded, a grin spreading across your face.
“Okay, cool, thanks.” he said before he quickly pressed a kiss to the top of your head then left the room, leaving you a blushing mess.
As you watched him leave, you couldn’t help but stare at him. He was your best friend in the whole world and you’d had a big crush on him since the beginning of your senior year.
But you doubted that he would ever feel the same about you, he just didn’t seem like the type of guy to be into artsy girls. Plus he never showed any romantic affection towards you or at least that’s how you processed his affection.
———————————————
At around 5pm that evening, Eddie arrived at your house. You blushed and smiled to yourself as you heard him interacting with your parents. They adored him right away and that definitely soothed some of your worries.
He then raced up the main stairs in your house and quickly entered your room, knocking over the easel you had folded up behind your bedroom door while he did so.
It fell with a crash, startling you but Eddie didn’t waste any time and picked it up right away, putting it back in its rightful spot. He looked at you with an apologetic look in his eyes and you simply smiled back at him.
“Sorry about that.” he said as he began to nervously hide his hands behind his back.
“No worries. Sit, Eddie.” you said as you patted the empty spot in front of you on your bed, your sketchbook balancing on your knee.
He plopped down on your bed, letting his back rest against your mattress. And as he lied there, he admired the comforting smell of your perfume on your bed.
He adored the way you smelled, your scent always making him feel a bit calmer after a bad or stressful day.
He then sat up and began explaining his character to you. And while he explained all of this, he couldn’t help but pay attention to how beautiful you were. How had he never noticed this before?
He slowly began to realize that he had always been in love with you it just took you drawing something for him while you both sat on your bed for him to see it.
He adored the way your eyes lit up as you looked up at him to listen to the next detail he wanted to explain to you. He realized that he wanted you as more than a friend and he had no idea what he was going to do about that.
An hour or so later, you were done with the sketch and you flipped your sketchbook around to show Eddie the finished sketch.
“I love it, sweetheart. That’s exactly how I imagined him to look.” he told you with a grin as he let out a gasp as well as that nickname.
That nickname had your cheeks turning bright red as you looked into his eyes, “Really? You like it?” you asked him, your eyes still fixated on his own.
“Yes, this is amazing. Is it alright if I take this draft home with me?” he asked, gesturing towards the drawing.
“It’s not done quite yet, but I’ll give you the finished product tomorrow morning before school. I promise.” you answered as you held out your pinky.
He wrapped his pinky around yours and nodded with a look of understanding in his eyes.
“Anywho, I should probably be heading home for the night.” he told you, taking another moment to admire your beauty before he left.
“Alright.” you said while you reached over your bed to give him a quick hug, successfully making him blush this particular time.
———————————————
For the next six hours, you locked yourself in your room and turned that drawing into a painting, using your sketch as a reference photo. You hoped Eddie would like the painting and that it would actually be completely dry by the time you woke up.
All you truly wanted in this moment was for him to love you the way you loved him.
———————————————
The following morning, you got up earlier then you normally did so that you would have the time to give Eddie the painting before school. You quickly got ready and dried the remaining wet spots with your hair dryer then headed out the door.
The now dry painting sat in the passenger seat of your car as you drove as fast as the speed limits would allow you, not wanting to risk getting pulled over.
You got to Eddie’s trailer just a short ten minutes later. Your hands were shaking as you walked up to his front door, hoping that he was awake by now.
You softly knocked on the door then waited for him to answer, the actual art on the canvas facing your legs so that he wouldn’t see it the second he opened the door.
A sleepy smile was on Eddie’s face once he opened the door and saw you standing there. You smiled back at him, admiring his messy hair and the tattoos he had on his chest that you could now see.
“Hi.” he mumbled to you as he rubbed his eyes, causing you to chuckle at his behavior.
“Surprise!” you said as you showed him finished painting.
The second he saw what you had created, Eddie’s eyes went wide and he slowly took the canvas from your hands so that he could get a better look at the painting.
“I love it,” he said as he looked down at the art, “And I love you.” he told you, shock in the tone of his voice like he was admitting this to himself as well.
You froze for a moment and looked up at him with widened eyes, the boy you had spent days pining over actually loved you back.
You didn’t knew if you’d be able to speak in this moment due to the shock you were feeling, so instead of talking, you swiftly started to hold his face in your hands then pressed your lips to his.
His lips were the softest thing you had ever felt, you felt like there were fireworks going off around the two of you this morning as your lips remained connected.
“I love you too, Eddie.” you made known to him as you pulled away from the kiss and rested your forehead against his own, prompting him to wrap his arms around your waist.
The two of your stayed silent for a few moments before he spoke up again, “How about we skip school today, hmm? How does that sound, sweetheart?” he suggested as he held you closer then before.
You pulled away from him and deeply gazed into his eyes, “That sounds perfect.” you answered, a smirk on your lips.
Eddie then took your hand in his and led you back to his room, making sure to display your painting on top of his dresser before the two of you did anything else.

Another list of recommended non D&D TTRPGs
Mostly just a list of stuff that I personally have been having fun with!
5. Pathfinder: Look if you wanna replace dnd, this is probably the easiest way to do it. It is slightly more complex, but pf2e is WAY more beginner friendly than most people expect it to be. The main source of complication is also the system's greatest strength, in that the more in depth character customization lets you fill out your character's abilities in a more compelling way. Have you ever been frustrated because none of d&d's classes fit your character idea that well? Have you ever gotten a major class feature and not used it much because it doesn't fit your idea for your character? Pathfinder may be the system for you!
It does have a few minor issues in the form of design relics from the old edition d&d it was based on, but aside from the spell prep system most of those can be table ruled out or avoided with minor build tweaks.
4. Monster of the Week: This system is great for anyone who feels more intimidated by rules-dense systems. Being a Powered By The Apocalypse game means that if you learn one of these, you learn a bunch of other systems. Monster of the week is also very inexpensive to get into (Basically everything is free aside from the GM rulebook) and has good community support!
The genre is primarily modern Urban Fantasy with a focus on solving mysteries, but the publisher's most recent book, Codex of Worlds, expands the options so you can take those same supernatural horror mysteries into settings based on The Victorian Era, The Renaissance, The Dark Ages and even The Stone Age!
3. Thirsty Sword Lesbians: Look, this is an incredibly flexible system that has a shitload of uses so its hard to describe quickly but at its core this is another PBTA game that has more of a focus on mind games and emotional drama than the actual swordfighting mechanics. Swordfighting is just a backdrop for drama, and magic largely exists as a metaphor for the characters' personality traits, this makes the system incredibly easy to reflavor or tweak. I've seen a game run with a completely mundane fencing club, a homebrew setting based on a theater department and an official module based on a chess tournament. Anywhere people are competing and communicating can be the backdrop for this game. I should also note that despite the name and most of the art, the game is designed to work well with LGBT storytelling in general.
The core mechanics are essentially a rules-lite drama simulator, with the only truly consistent elements being romance and melodrama. The flavor is flexible and the rules have a ton of caveats that say "If you don't think this fits your character, ignore it!" Its primarily a game for people who like to really get into character to make choices and who are willing to shoot themselves in the foot for the sake of being true to that character.
2. Lancer: If rules-lite systems aren't as much your thing and you wanna take a very different approach to your new campaign setting, Lancer may be the game for you! This is a crunchy mecha combat game with a really in depth customization system that lets you make some wild shit. There are a ton of different customization options on top of an iconic series of mech frames that each have unique and iconic abilities!
It's also not as intimidating to get into as most crunchy systems, as its actually pretty hard to make a "bad" build in the game, the devs have been super cool about providing good digital resources like the Comp/Con app and the community is known for being pretty helpful!
Court of Blades: So this one is a bit more of a niche, but it's basically a system reskin of the critically acclaimed Blades in The Dark with some interesting new twists. Players take on the role of a group of nobles and courtiers in a low-magic fantasy setting inspired by Renaissance Italy's feuding noble houses as they attempt to bring their house to the top.
The real appeal of this system to me is how effectively it lets players play a group of scheming rich bastards, with mechanics around currying favor and having people to do things for you. If you've ever tried to run a noble in a different system only to be frustrated at how little the game lets you use your character's wealth and influence, you might like this game! It's a narrative driven game with a very different approach to structuring plots and missions compared to most ttrpgs that creates a much more engaging narrative flow. The player character playbooks can feel a bit linear and restrictive, but if more people play this one that means more homebrew options!

hello I'm a bit of a noob in DnD in general, I've played one campaign but that only went from levels 1-3 before it got cancelled and the character build was entirely for RP, but now I'm making another character and I wanna go for a mechanically good build, but idk how to tell if it's any good? like in general or in combat or amount of damage I just have idea. any tips?
I would love to help you out, but I probably need more information!
I'm going to link you to a few posts of mine about tips for character builds, multiclassing, and combat but also I'm happy to help you out if you send another ask.
First and foremost-- always do what you Want with a character instead of what you feel like you need to do. Just because something isn't truly 'optimized' doesn't mean it is unusable or is going to be worthless. I design a lot of builds around unoptimized concepts in an attempt to showcase that you can pretty much play anything you want and still be a good player.
What I will say is even if you like a mechanical challenge (which since you're new I don't know if that would be the most satisfying way to play), I always prefer external mechanics than making my characters stats bad or something.
Now, I'd love to hear what you want out of a character. What's the theme and what's the class and what do you want them to be good at (doesn't even have to be in dnd terminology can just treat it like a general fantasy character question). That will give me a good place to help give you a few pointers in directions for classes, abilities, and things that you could flavor as what you want to do.
here's a few links:
how to manage action economy
how i organize my abilities and keep myself engaged in combat
how i design character builds

I'm not the naoni anon from the other day but I'm curious about his backstory? How did he get here?
Omg <3333 under the cut!
So I originally designed Naoni in 2017 to play in a campaign of a ttrpg called strike. Strike doesnt have any races to choose from so I just made up a guy that looked like whatever. This is my original Naoni concept from 2017:
Tumblr media
(As you can see he has changed and evolved a lot since then!)
He was a class called "Buddies" which meant he could use Haddi in combat and his qualities I chose from the list the sheet had were like falconry and cartography and archery. I also wrote up a short simple backstory for him. We never actually played this campaign though so Naoni just sat in my computer
Fast forward to 2020 and a friend of mine reached out n asked if I wanted to join a hxh dnd campaign and I was like....yes absolutely. And i thought about making a new character but I was like wait I literally have Naoni already made I'll just port him to dnd! But then I was like wait he doesn't really fit as any of the dnd races aside from tieflings but I dont wanna play a tief. And to my DM i was like listen his backstory makes the most sense for a wood elf. Will you just let me make this purple horned guy an elf and I'll cut off his little tail. And she was like honestly go for it but then I needed a reason for why he looked like this.
Long story short his reclusive society of wood elves got cursed so now theyre all purple and have horns and red marks on their faces <3 and its been so long that theyre chill w it they love being purple and having horns. These are his friends:
Tumblr media
His short backstory is that his mother is a falconer and his father is a cartographer and hes part of the falconer clan bc their clan is matrilineal and he grew up in the middle of the woods in purple elf city and left to take the adventurer's exam (hunter exam lol) for various reasons related to his profession in purple elf world

Blog post 29/05/2023
hokay so life got so busy after submission I only get to sit down and do some art work now. I've done a couple doodles and got a new sticker I've made for work! On payday I'm gonna order up some new frog stickers too, I need to make a couple more designs for the froggy stickers too~ I'm leaning mango and cherries or banana.
Today I wanna start doing the Tox Sculpt I've been wanting to do, maybe some doodles too to keep it fresh. I'll be returning to my game making in a couple weeks as I've not had time to just rest. The pain has been pretty bad this month because I've been so active with IRL work and appointments and such. I did get to go to MCM London which is nice, maybe one day I'll run a stall there!! To do that though I need to produce more physical merch and currently I only really have my stickers. Maybe I'll reboot my ETSY shop once I've made a small inventory.
I got a little distracted over lunch and ended up chatting for an hour, time to get into it! Curse you talking with my friends, ADHD and DIY youtube videos. I started by slapping down the bipedal frame with ZSpheres, they always look a little goofy. I had made a frame prior but I was unhappy with it. After I had laid the base Zspheres down, I turned off symmetry and began altering the ZSpheres, allowing me to pose is asymmetrically and start blocking out some features. I was easily able to build the finer hand details by adjusting the "draw size" of the brush! It is a little fiddly and bulbous at this stage, but shaping will come in time. One of my beardies is going nuts today, all I can hear is her surfing whilst I'm working.
The ZSphere skeleton has been made into an Adaptive Skin using dynaMesh Resolution 96 to preserve the finger shapes. I duplicated it and then I Zremeshed it to help lower the poly count, as it is easier to build shape in lower polys, then subdivide for more detail later on. The fingers are still a little warped, but it's the best option without going into insane detail for just the base. It will do! Time to start building up some shapes. I'm going to start with the hand as its the area I'm most concerned about.
I'm also pretty happy to be blogging my process like this, I found it annoying at university as it does cut into my modeling time - however now I'm doing it optionally its helping me understand and think through the process a little more. Plus I don't need to keep several files on my pc or be very academic about it either, I can just jot down my thoughts post and go.
I've thickened the fingers and started shaping the hand, I'm going to block out the body some more before subdividing. It looks chunky and awful like chewed gum, but refinement will come later.
I'm thinking about making more physical merchandise to sell. I might sit down and make like, an inventory goal, review products I have and how they are made - then think of new products and how to make them. Including some good sellers like prints of existing properties, or nerdy merch like different chibi lizards as different DND classes and stuff.
I've reached a point with this sculpt where I've got a good base shape down. I'm going to pause doing this for now and move onto doing some 2D work.

but yeah its like yknow. i feel like im generally more interested in like, interesting technical interactions or synergies and in like, strategy and tactics and forethought in gameplay rather than just like. getting more damage . which is obviously much harder to make and much more contextual and is also just so utterly vapid that it’s barely worth saying at all unless you have a larger thesis. but its like yknow. like, im starting this dnd game and i already have a 19 in dex . so where am i gonna go from here. like the game is designed around improving those stat ups and getting your progression milestones from increasing in level until you get like, quintuple crit dice as a barbarian or quadruple attacks as a warrior . so it actively discourages doing more interesting and creative stuff where you try to plan out synergies with like, multiclassing. and i dont particularly wanna just play polearm master + sentinel and whenever something walks into my range i instantly stop it and hit it for uh. i forget what the damage of the polearms is offhand. theyre weaker than the greataxe and greatsword . but anyway like yknow. it’s more interesting to have like. a plan that you gotta work around . so it seems like approaching the game with like, a core of progressing by leveling up and unlocking new features of your class and with any sort of like, customization and mix and matching as an afterthought. isnt really great cause it means you’re like, already kinda boxing in the player. but . to be fair. i have played like, a grand total of maybe 4 sessions of any TTRPG? and 3 of them were of some very rules light fire emblem thing and one of them was a d100 tactical ttrpg set in rainbow six and i was playing with a KS23k

divination wizard? twilight cleric?? hello??? 👀 i don't know anything abt dnd but i wanna hear if you don't mind, they sound cool
im putting this under a readmore bc it got long 😅 (but to also hide the nerdiness a little)
my divination wizard, my beloved. she's a stuck up stick in the mud know it all human, but she has a heart of gold and a rather bad habit of putting her goals above her own well being. she will wring herself dry both literally and figuratively to achieve something (and to the people she trusts, she's the epitome of "I will kill for you"). she also has a small puff ball of an owl familiar that she's never seen without. his name is celestine and he is the cutest. also lightning spells are bomb and are absolutely her signature.
an art of her, and why yes her design was entirely self indulgent on my part (by yec_yourz)
Tumblr media
as for my twilight cleric, she's relatively new and i havent played her yet, but the class basically took me by the throat. she's an aasimar with a rather harrowed past, but in spite of that she's rather soft spoken and gentle. a lot of her aesthetic and story are based on the idea i had that the night/darkness is a place of shelter for those looking to hide and rest. the comfort that is inherent in not having to be seen while we are suffering, but also the warmth that comes with healing when we are given the chance to rest.
im so excited to play her in fact, that i already have art for her too (also by _vampari. i absolutely adore their work)

2020 Art Summary
Yep, it’s 2021 already. 2020 is finally over. It felt like it lasted forever, and it felt like the end would never come, but here we are. Crazy how the time flew by.
I felt like I didn’t get much art done this year because of Current World Event, but I made a lot more than I thought I did. Even some of my new favorite pieces came out of this year, so I think that’s worth celebrating and looking back upon!
Tumblr media
I was insanely productive during the first month of 2020, and looking back I was surprised at all the stuff I did, but then I remembered that that winter season was actually one of the best times of my life! I started being more socially involved, and I think my newfound drive at the time translated into all the art I pumped out this month. This is just a small fraction of what I made in January, but I only have so much space. Quite a few complex pieces in both style exploration and polishing my own style.
Tumblr media
Apparently February was a rather intimate month. Things began to slow down in terms of my own art here, with me spending more time in social settings and school work ramping up, I didn’t have as much time to coop up in my room to draw. I did wanna do something for a friend’s Valentine’s Day OC art challenge, so I drew my lovey-dovey couple from Dance of 1000 Words havin’ a dance. Nothing actually came of that challenge, but it was fun to do regardless.
Tumblr media
One of the things I was most proud of in the winter season was making more friends, and one of the closest friends I made was completely coincidental. I met a person named Kiri on the bus one night I decided to volunteer somewhere by myself, and we ended up chatting and getting along. They quickly told me their tumblr username, and I shot them a message immediately after they left. A couple days later, we met up for brunch, and we started becoming really close friends and creative partners!
Not much else happened in March cuz that’s when Current World Event started becoming an issue, but Kiri and I still kept in close touch and we randomly started developing a concept for a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Galar Edition. These are a handful of characters we thought up, with Skipper the Scorbunny and Dross the Dreepy as the main characters, Morgrem as the main antagonist, and some shopkeepers such as those of the Greedent Bank and the Indeedee General Store. This was also my first time drawing all of these Galar Pokemon (except Scorbunny, but I also made Skipper a bit more unique than a regular Scorbunny).
Tumblr media
Lots of events happened this month. First of all, Steven Universe Future ended, one of my favorite and most influential shows was no longer continuing. I had to do something as tribute, both as a send-off to one of the greatest cartoons in the world and as a cathartic release for my feelings towards it.
A while later, I got the opportunity to start playing an MMO in beta called Fer.al, by the same people who made Animal Jam, which coincidentally I had also beta tested for back in the day. I ended up getting really attached to my first character, a Senri I named Sasha, and though I’ve made more characters than them since, they’re still my absolute favorite. Though I haven’t touched the game in a few months, I was really engrossed for a long time and enjoyed playing through the beta and early access phases.
At the end of the month, some friends of mine invited to a roleplay group with some mutuals, and we all played characters in a crime syndicate. Just a bunch of ragtag thieves and criminals who ended up together in order to protect an artifact called the Crown of Thieves, which was essentially a flag to be taken by other groups to prove that they are the best thieves in the land. My character was based heavily on my sona (if it wasn’t obvious) and was also influenced by Cloud Strife, since the FFVII Remake had just come out and I was super into watching the cutscenes at the time. My character’s (code)name is Valkyrie, and they are a mercenary, going between multiple different employers to carry out whatever duties they need to do. They have a more complicated backstory, but presently they were recently hired by recommendation of their friend Shark (played by @shmoots-universe who is also My friend now ily maya) who works with a group called the Court Cards who are currently in possession of the Crown of Thieves. Valk never really had a place to call home, but staying with this group of people had to be the closest they could get to that feeling. They still sleep with a knife under their pillow because of trust issue but that’s okay.
Tumblr media
Okay, so technically these examples started in April, but I continued making content with them in May, and the month was just pretty void of art in general, so here I am addressing them.
There were two main things I worked on this month: a Steven Universe AU of my own and the whole #sixfanarts thing that kicked off around then. Let’s start with the fanart bits. I did two and a half of them (six in April and nine in May), and it was so much fun to be able to draw stuff I don’t normally do! My personal favorites are shown here: Blake Belladonna from RWBY, Roll from Megaman, Yuki Konno from Sword Art Online, and Link from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The other thing I’d been planning for a while was a Steven Universe AU, probably to cope with the show being over but also because I was inspired by a lot of those SU AU artists I started following at the time. I won’t share the details here because it’s gonna have its own blog at some point, but the example I’ve shown here is of a comic I made loosely in order to introduce a divergence in the plot of the story as well as introduce a character unique to my AU. It was a lot of fun figuring out how to draw the characters and get a feel for the style.
Tumblr media
As the year progressed, my amount of art I made per month began to dwindle, this time mostly because school was kicking my ass especially hard with finals. However, I took what time I had to get some backburner pieces finished, like the Tigerlily picture which I sketched out a couple months back, and the Gunvolt picture which I started working on SIX YEARS AGO. I don’t quite know why I got the urge to work on it again after so long, but it was nice to finally realize. The other drawing for DOTS was done in the dead of night but I was really happy with how it came out.
Tumblr media
Despite only having two summer classes left of school, this month was really rough because they demanded a lot of my time and attention. I did not have the gumption to do anything digital, so I stuck to my sketchbook to get out what I felt like getting out.
My friends and I did a stream of the game Helltaker, and I really enjoyed the concept, so in following my friends I made my own Helltaker demon OC named Raksha the Ravenous Demon (it’s a pun but also got mythical insp). I also got super into Hazbin Hotel at this point, mostly because the Addict music video dropped and I couldn’t get enough of it, so I doodled Angel Dust cuz I felt like it. The other drawing I did was actually a free commission I gave a friend of mine as a prize for a trivia game show I ran back in June. He along with a couple other friends got some free drawings from me for getting the top three scores, and this one in particular was fun because of how interesting it was. He wanted me to draw a video game reviewer called the Irate Gamer from a specific moment, and I decided to go ham and just make it as dramatic as possible.
Tumblr media
University classes finally wrapped up and right after that I was in the process of moving out of my apartment and getting adjusted to living with my parents again. I did a couple of agg.io drawing sessions with my friends from the Court Cards group as well as a new Dungeons and Dragons homebrew group I had joined. I drew some more of Valkyrie and came up with a design for my DND character Qakuqtuq (or Kai for short). He is monkey grandpa and I love him.
Tumblr media
My main focus was on finishing a polished piece for my friend Cake, whose birthday was in the upcoming month. I wanted it to be as amazing as possible, so I put a lot of time into getting more detailed and making them look good. In addition to that, I did a few TOME doodles just for fun. The creature on the bottom was for this month’s art challenge on my Discord server where we made original TOMERPG monsters, and I created Hundylow, a Crystal-element monster based on the Grindylow from English folklore.
Tumblr media
This month was a lot more productive than the past few had been. I tried to do a 31-day art challenge called Creatober but failed to get past the third prompt because I was still swamped with other work. I’m still happy with what little I did, including the piece with my characters Kyle and Guarudan from DSWD.
I don’t remember how, but I also suddenly rediscovered an old Flipnote Hatena series called Tales of LostClan, a Warriors fan series that I would say was the most obscure thing I’ve ever been super invested in. It was what got me into the actual Warriors books, and I liked it so much I redrew the animations into a comic... twice. Didn’t get nearly as far the second time but clearly my love for this little fanfiction had not waned after nearly a decade. I felt like drawing a book cover/movie poster for the series, just to get it out there and see how much I’ve improved over all that time.
Also I felt like making a vampiresona just before Halloween because I never dress up for Halloween in art (or real life anymore, for that matter), and I wanted to do something like that for once. It was short-lived but I really liked the design!
Tumblr media
The focus of this month was definitely on Pokemon stuff. As per usual I contributed to the current Gotta Draw ‘Em All collab, and I was tasked to draw Regieleki. It was really fun to figure out how to make it stand out and look like it was made of electricity.
I also committed a lot of my spare time to my Fakemon Gym Leaders, as I had been working on bringing them to life in the past year or so now. As of this post, I’ve finished rendering their full body poses and gym badges, but I’m still working on completing all eight VS portraits, the first half of which are shown here.
Tumblr media
I... didn’t draw anything this month, actually. What I’m showing here was worked on in the last few days but has actually been in progress for a couple of months, and I just finished it earlier today, in 2021. But I needed to show something off, and it’s also about time I mentioned it.
Back in October, I kept seeing people rave about this game called Genshin Impact, and I was interested but not so much as to start playing it... until my friends started playing and I was like “fuck it, let’s download it”. Since that day, I have been super immersed and in love with this game, to the point I came up with my own canon based on my gameplay experiences. This also included the creation of an original player character: Astra, the non-binary Traveller. And now, I’ve finally drawn them and brought them to life.
It has been one hell of a year. I had some of the highest highs and lowest lows in 2020, lots of changes, and I have now officially moved onto the next chapter of my life now that my time at university is finally over. I’m very excited for what 2021 has to offer, and I’m going to go forward with great ambition.

Why Should I Play Pathfinder?
Everyone and their mother knows that DnD 5e has taken the tabletop world by storm, and for good reason - it's a relatively simple ruleset that's easy for new players to learn, and as a direct result of that it's become the game of choice for podcasts, actual play streams, and home group's everywhere.
So why should you play Pathfinder?
(tl;dr at the end)
High Fantasy
While 5e certainly has dragons, magic items, spells, and all the components that you’d expect from a high-fantasy campaign, the math behind the system actually tells a different story. The difference in power from Level 1 to Level 20 is mostly in the variety of abilities available to a character, how much damage they can take, and how much damage they can put out. Meanwhile, other stats like attack bonuses, armor class, saving throws, and skill bonuses don’t really change too much over the course of a campaign. As a result, it’s still entirely possible for large enough groups of weak opponents to drain resources and be a threat to players long into their careers. This works for some campaigns and settings, but the lower power scaling makes it harder to tell some stories. If you’re looking for a system where the power scaling allows a party who struggled against a troll one level to handle several trolls without breaking a sweat four levels later, and where high-level characters could realistically beat entire armies of low-level enemies if you wanted to sit down and spend time on it, Pathfinder’s going to be a better system to get into.
The Case for 1e
Pathfinder 1e is often referred to as "DnD 3.75e" by fans of the popular DnD 3.5 edition because it was created as a backwards-compatible edition that took 3.5 and improved upon its rules, fixing many issues that plagued the edition. 3.5e (and Pathfinder 1e, by extension) is known for its depth of customization options, with countless classes to choose from that cover an incredible variety of character concepts. There’s over 40 classes to choose from, such as the Magus that delivers spells through weapon attacks and the Hunter that fights alongside their animal companion as a coordinated duo and takes on the aspects of different animals. Each class also has its own Archetypes that modify some of their abilities to fit a different theme, such as taking the Avatar-esqe Kineticist class and making it a knight wielding their element as a weapon, or allowing the Summoner to forgo the ability to summon an independent creature to fight on their behalf and instead fuse with them to jump into the fray personally. And that all just scrapes the surface - multiclassing, prestige classes, feats, and an abundance of magic items all allow you to customize your character in so many ways that you can build dang near anything in this system.
You also probably shouldn’t bother.
What? You thought I was only going to sing its praises? Don’t get me wrong, Pathfinder 1e is an incredibly deep system with metric tons of content to dig into, but that’s also precisely the problem. There’s just so much stuff between the complex rules interactions and 11 years of content that breaking into the system today is a huge challenge for people who are new to the game. I had the benefit of jumping on several years ago and learning as things released, but with so many FAQs and rules clarifications between multiple books and supplemental materials Pathfinder 1e has become a massive chore to learn. If you’ve got a friend to help you learn or enjoy the complexity, then learning the system can be very exciting and rewarding. There’s also several balance issues inherent to the game, especially when it comes to spellcasters versus non-casters and over-specialization, but these can be fixed at home tables with a helpful GM.
If you ask me, though? Pathfinder 2e is where it’s at.
The Case for 2e
Pathfinder 2e is a pretty radical shift in design and balance compared to 1e, almost strictly for the better if you ask me. While 2e currently features only 15 classes with 2 more on the way next year, the game already has significantly more variety in character customization than 1e did at the time.
Your Heritage and Ancestry Feats help you define your character from Level 1 all the way to 20, making your Elf more Elf-y and your Dwarf more Dwarf-y. Class Paths determine how you’ll use your class features, such as the normally-dexterous Rogue taking the Ruffian Racket to instead become an armored bruiser who relies on their strength to browbeat enemies with underhanded tactics. Class Feats grant you new abilities or improve on the ones you’ve already got, but you can also spend them to pick up Dedication feats to multiclass or select an archetype, giving you access to feats your class normally wouldn’t be able to use. You wanna be a Wizard with a giant hammer? You can do that. A Bard who leads a team of Animal Companions like a Pokemon trainer? Go for it. You can also select various Skill Feats to pull stunts like running on walls, healing a creature with a medical kit during a fight, or making it harder for a creature you’re following to notice you and catching them off-guard easier if a fight breaks out.
And Pathfinder 2e has been out for all of, what, 15 months now? At this rate they’ll have more content and options by next summer than DnD 5e has released in the 6 years since its release. In my opinion, the best time to get into Pathfinder 2e is right now while the edition is still new.
Not to mention, Pathfinder 2e is a million times simpler to learn than Pathfinder 1e ever was, and despite the number of options available to characters the system is actually pretty easy to learn. Figuring out what you can do on your turn is easier in this edition than any other, including 5e. Ability score generation doesn’t use randomized dice rolls or a point-buy system, forgoing both for a system where your character’s ancestry, background, and class determine some bonuses while you divide the rest to your liking. Any character of any ancestry can easily reach an 18 in their class’s key ability score, making it easier than ever to play characters like dwarf wizards and elf barbarians that used to be penalized from the outset.
All of this is great, but there’s one big thing I haven’t mentioned yet.
Cost & Access
DnD 5e and many other games are locked behind paywalls, which makes it very difficult to break into a new system and see every option available to you. In case you weren’t aware, both Pathfinder 1e and 2e have online databases which are 100% free and have every single class, feat, monster, piece of equipment, etc ever printed. You’ll never have to worry about dropping another $50+ on a book if you don’t want to, and while the publishers do put out some pretty solid pre-built modules and campaigns you can always choose to forgo them and start your own campaign without spending a single dime.
tl;dr
Pathfinder 1e is incredibly complex and has some balance issues, but if you put the time in to learn the system and have a helpful GM to iron out any problems it has an absolute metric ton of content and customization options for characters and campaigns.
Pathfinder 2e takes 1e’s lessons to heart and throws out a lot of the old edition’s rules in favor of a streamlined approach that manages to be both easier to learn and play while managing to retain and even exceed the depth of customization available to players in 1e.
Both editions enable higher-fantasy narratives where characters go from being competent to effectively unstoppable over the course of their careers, and both editions have free online databases where every option ever printed is available. You’ll never have to pay a dime to play these systems if you don’t want to, although I personally encourage it as Paizo is a fantastic publisher.

Gotta Love DnD, Victor
Love Victor fanfic
Summary: It’s a week after Victor has come out to his family and a few friends, but they haven’t really acknowledged it one way or another. Desperate to help get his friend’s mind off of his family’s reaction (or lack of a reaction) to his coming out, Felix designs a DnD campaign that Victor, Bram, and Simon can play, with Felix as the DM. Fun and crazy stuff ensues.
Hope y’all enjoy <3
“So how do we do this? All I got are dice.” Bram asks through Felix’s computer screen, holding lime-green crystal dice up to the camera. He and Simon are sitting on the couch in the middle of their apartment, with no space between them. Victor couldn’t help but feel like they were the perfect couple, and hoped that one day Benji and him could be the same way.
It was the weekend after Victor had come out to his family and they had started acting like he hadn’t said anything at all. Victor felt like right now that was for the best, as he didn’t really wanna talk about it anymore either. Things were weird with Mia and Lake, because although she had declared her love for Felix, Lake wasn’t talking to Victor at all, in solidarity and die-hard friendship fashion for Mia. Benji had sent him sweet text messages this week like “hang in there” or “hair looks great today bud” and that would help a bit, but also Victor couldn’t shake the feelings of regret and pain away. That’s how this weekend had happened. Felix had insisted they play DnD to get his mind off things. But because Victor and Felix couldn’t afford to go back to New York, they were somehow trying to do DnD through Skype. It wasn’t working all that well, but god damn it if Felix wasn’t gonna let Victor mope around his house anymore.
“It’s not that difficult now that you guys told me what classes you wanted to be. I think you all should give your characters names though. It’s not creative if you’re just Victor and Bram and Simon.”
Simon gave Felix a look through the webcam, raising his eyebrows.
“No offense.” Felix replied, awkwardly. Felix had moved all the newspapers his mother had collected into the supply closet to make room on the coffee table for DnD, but the closet had reached capacity and Victor worried it would comically burst open like their lives were a part of a cartoon.
“Nice to meet you two by the way. You guys...are—”
While Felix was talking, the couple maintained eye contact with him as Simon rested his head on Bram’s shoulder.
“Right, okay.”
“Felix! You know they’re boyfriends!” Victor called out, sounding more like his teasing self than he has all week.
“I still can’t believe that you never told me you went to New York! The Big Apple? Times Square? You know how much I love Broadway!”
“Well you guys will just have to come visit us again sometime.” Bram suggested, putting his arm around his boyfriend affectionately.
“Alright so let’s start.” Victor said, not wanting to be reminded of the trip that made him lie to his then-girlfriend.
“Okay, so Bram you’re a paladin—” Felix began before he was cut off.
“Paladin? I’m definitely not just brawns!” Bram protested.
“You picked your character!” Victor laughed.
“I know but I think I’m a bit more of a—”
“No, no, no, no. I sent you a character sheet, you filled it out and sent it back to me and then I added the modifiers and all the technical stuff and sent it back to you, so it’s finalized!” Felix said, all his words jumbled together in a long string, sounding hyperactive as usual. “Now,” Felix continued, grabbing a D20 die from on top of his brown coffee table. “Let’s do this.”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. I don’t know much about DnD, but I do know that the DM can’t play too.” Victor said, grabbing Felix’s hand tightly.
“Oh c’mon, let me play Victor! I need this! I haven’t seen Lake in—”
“Yeah, yeah, don’t remind me. Just roll dice when you’re supposed to, DM Felix.”
“Fine, fine, fine, fine,” Felix said, moving a hand through his hair. “Let’s start with this.”
He had four plastic figures, three of them representing Bram, Simon, Victor, and then one representing a figure that Felix started to describe as the Demigorgon before Victor told him to pick something else ‘cause that was “too Stranger Things”.
“Wait, wait, wait. Which character am I again?” Simon interjected before playing had even begun.
“You’re the warlock, the one with a staff, represented by the purple figure on the table.” Felix explained briskly so they could move onto actual gameplay. Simon nodded in understanding and sat back on the couch, letting Felix do his thing.
“Anyway, this big—” Felix met Victor’s gaze “—monster straight out of the movie Alien—”
Victor couldn’t help but laugh, not about Felix’s uncreativeness or lack of forethought about monsters, but the fact that he was the only straight boy in this group and he happened to somehow be the nerdiest one of all four of them.
“You mean gay out of the movie alien?” Simon asked, thinking the same thing Victor was. Victor, Bram, and Simon burst into laughter and all Felix could do was bite his lip awkwardly at the joke.
“Okay so Boris the Brave, Seamus the Strong, and Vladimir the Valiant—”
“Wait, those are our names?” Bram asked, chuckling.
“You guys didn’t pick your names so I made something up on the spot. Now stop interrupting!”
Simon and Bram put their hands up defensively, almost at the same time and Victor chuckled at that. Watching them over the call, Victor was just in awe by them. He guessed that when you were in a relationship for 2+ years, you started acting like the other person. It was weirdly sweet and Victor couldn’t get enough of it. This was what it was supposed to be like to love someone like he did. Maybe one day him and Benji would be that close, would be so love that they were in total sync. It sucked that he was jealous of them, but he was.
“So you guys are traveling through this cave and this big monster thing that looks like it’s from Alien jumps out and lunges at you. Bram, your action.”
“Uh, can I throw Simon at it?”
“Hey!”
“You can if you’d like.” Felix responds. But Bram is shaking his head.
“Can I sing to it?” Victor jokes, smiling brighter than he has in days, his cheeks burning. And when Felix glares at him he simply responds, “What? Isn’t that all that Bards can do in battle?”
“Y’know what, roll for that.”
“For what?”
“Performance! C’mon, you know this! I went over it with you every single day this week during lunch!”
Victor chuckles as Felix puts his blue die into his hand. Victor gives it a good shake before he throws it onto the table.
“10.”
Fellix then takes his own die and rolls his own number.
“I got 15, so that did not hit. The Alien is still awake, and none of its stats have been altered.”
“Nice try Victor!” Simon said encouragingly, before turning to his boyfriend. “Maybe this is a job for a paladin?”
“Okay, I’ll try. Um, I’m going to attack the Alien with my sword.”
“Okay, roll for strength, then add your modifier from your character sheet.” Felix said.
Bram ironically cracked his knuckles before taking his die and rolling, which both Victor and Simon found amusing.
“Uh, 14. Plus my strength modifier which is +2.”
“Okay, you definitely hit it. Now roll for damage given.”
Bram looked blankly at Felix.
“Just, roll the die again to see how much damage you deal on the Alien.”
“Oh, gotcha.”
Bram rolls again.
“Uh, 9. Is that with the modifier still or no?”
“Not this time, but you’ve dealt 9d sword damage to the Alien, which means you’ve been spotted and Simon’s character can’t use his stealth to get away anymore.”
“What? We could’ve snuck around it?” Bram grumbled, throwing his hands up in the air.
“It’s an open-world kind of game, man. You gotta think outside of the box.” Felix replied pointedly. Bram sighed and handed the die to Simon, who chose to roll for dexterity, to run away from the alien.
“Isn’t Bram the athlete?” Victor teases him.
“Yeah! But you’re just gonna run away from the alien and leave us to die from it?”
“No! If this works, I’m gonna go find the next village and see if there’s anyone who can help us.”
“Alright, roll for that.” Felix says.
Simon shakes the die like Bram did, but with a bit more vigor and then throws it down on his coffee table.
“Uh…it’s a nat 20!” Simon cheers, but he looks nervous.
“I’m trusting you here!” Felix reminds him. “I can’t actually see your die, but you better be honest with me!”
“It’s a one.” Bram informs his DM, looking scared at what outcome this will yield as he grabs Simon’s arm and squeezes it tightly toward his body.
“Bram!”
“Simon, they’re our friends! We can’t lie to them!”
“Fine,” Simon grumbles. “I just hope we’re not screwed now.”
“So Simon, since you got rolled a 1, you’re getting the energy to run away and then slip and fall and yell, ‘fuck!’ just as loudly as you can, so now the Alien has turned on you.”
“Oh shit!” Simon yells, almost proving Felix’s point.
It takes a little while before anyone knows what to do to stop the monster, and since it’s the afternoon and the boys haven’t eaten anything, they take a break for some pizza delivery before going back to the game.
“I’m gonna try to hit it again.” Bram says when they sit back down to it. It’s been hours since they started the game and all they’ve done is fight this one monster, but Victor doesn’t care. He hasn’t thought a bit about what going back to his house is gonna be like and frankly he doesn’t care. He’s enjoying this nerdy time with his friends and wish it could never stop.
“Roll for strength.”
Bram does.
“Ugh, 3!”
“Is that with or without the modifier?” Felix asks. Luckily it’s without.
“So 5? That does not hit. Now you’ve made the Alien all angry though.”
“Ugh, what now?”
“Victor, your turn again.” Felix tells him, handing him his blue die. “What’s your action?”
“I’m gonna see if maybe I can appeal to a nearby animal for help.” Victor says, sounding just like a bard. Felix can’t help but laugh, but it’s a sound strategy, as nothing else has worked out for them yet.
“Roll for performance.” Felix says.
Victor shakes the die and then drops it onto the table. It moves around and around like a spinning top. It’s moving so fast, but at one point it looks like it’s gonna be a nat 20 before it tips the opposite direction. Victor sighs in disappointment before he realizes it has landed on 18.
“What, no way!” Victor cries out, holding his hands up high towards the ceiling. “That’s a nat 20 right?”
“Well, it is a 20, but not a natural 20. You definitely got some animal’s attention. A wolf-bat hybrid creature comes out of its den in the cave and you ask it to help you and your friends get out of the cave. And it’s happy you asked it for help, so it starts leading you out of the cave and away from the alien. Just then—”
“What? Just then, nothing. I rolled a 20, you can’t have something happen to us now!” Victor cries out.
“It’s my game, I can do whatever I want.” Felix replies his voice light and teasing.
“There’s a sudden earthquake and huge rocks start falling down upon all of you. All of you roll for dexterity to get out of the way of the falling rocks and catch up with the wolf-bat hybrid to get to safety.”
Simon rolls, then Bram and Victor roll simultaneously. Simon rolls a 7, Bram a 13, and Victor gets an 11.
“Since Bram made it above 12, he has to help Simon out of the cave after he gets hit on the back of the head once with a rock. Victor leads the group to safety with the help of the wolf-bat hybrid and it’s on to the next village. End of game 1.”
“Wow! What an awesome game Felix!” Bram remarks.
“This was really fun you guys,” Simon agrees, speaking into the webcam as if he was meeting Felix and Victor’s gazes directly. “Hopefully we can do it again next time when we’re in Atlanta.”
“Wait, you mean, you guys are coming to visit US?” Victor asks, incredulous. He can’t believe his ears.
“Yeah, you came to visit us, it’s only fair we do the same thing. Besides, Bram wants to get some pointers from the coach about how to coach middle school kids.”
“Might wanna choose a different gym teacher to learn from,” Felix tells him, smiling.
“Whatever, we wanna see you guys, and introduce you to our friends Leah and Abby too. We’re all coming back for a homecoming type thing, even our friend Nick is gonna be there. It’s not for at least a month, but we’ll be up there soon, I promise. And as always, we’re here if you need anything, Victor.”
“Thanks you guys. I can’t wait to see you guys in person again.” Victor says, and he’s definitely gushing. They used to be strangers to him, but now he can’t imagine life without their support. They’re like his fairy gay fathers or something. Victor laughs at that prospect, but it’s an accurate name for them.
“Nice meeting you Felix! Great game! Talk to you guys soon!” Bram says, and the call goes out.
“They’re really great.” Felix says, almost absentmindedly.
“Yeah,” Victor says, fully registering how he feels towards all the new friends he’s made in the last few weeks, and a warm, welcoming feeling filling up his stomach, almost like the butterflies that welled up in his chest when he kissed Benji. Only this was different. This was purely platonic. Victor’s family life might not be what he’d like it to be right now, but his social life was better than it ever was in Texas. What’s more, he was finally living his true life, his gay self, and he felt better than he had in days.
“Yeah, they’re pretty great.”

Note
May I start off bi saying you are doin the lords work writing male readers 🙌 anyway you can write a Kevin Keller imagine where reader is a serpent and a super intimidating one at that but completely melts for Kevin who is super oblivious?
Tumblr media
Co written with @inhumanshadows
· You were the only serpent people at your school were more afraid of than Sweet Pea
· Kevin couldn't even look you in the eyes when you were partnered together for a project
·  He barely spoke a word as you worked on the project, doing preliminary research. “I’m Y/N by the way, Kev.”
· "I know who you are, Fangs told me"
· "You're friends with Fangs?"
· "No"
· "So you're not dating then?"
· "Of course not"
· “Noted...”
· “What does that mean?”
· “Nothing...”
· Kevin refused to go to your trailer to work on the project so you had to go to his hair
· "You like dungeon and dragons?" You say poking around his things
· "If you're just gonna make fun of me-"
· "I like it too"
· “Say what?”
· “I like dnd too. What? You figure big bad serpent only likes fist fights?”
· “No just taken by surprise.”
· “Well you’ll learn I’m full of surprises.”
· You ended up going to Kevin's house everyday afterschool for three weeks.
· "You know we're done with the project right?"
· "Maybe i just like hanging out with you"
· “Oh... well I like it too.”
· “So... got a dice hoard?”
· Kevin proceeds to pull out a huge dice bag.
· “It’s not much.”
· You guys hung out again and again to the point that one time, you were in Kevin’s room and his dad called him downstairs. You could hear them.
· “So... Y/N’s been around a lot...”
· “Where are you going with this dad?”
· "I'm just saying... If he was your boyfriend you can tell me"
· "Dad! Y/N is not my boyfriend!"
· "Whatever you say son... Is he staying for dinner again?"
· "... Yes"
· I feel like when Jughead is being. Well jughead you call Kevin and are like “I’m outside.”
· Kevin is who you rant to whenever Jughead is getting on your nerves
· First night you did that he didn’t answer so you scaled the wall.
· “What the fuck!?”
· “Shh! You’re dad’s a cop. The only time I wanna be in handcuffs is on my own terms!”
· Fangs and Toni could tell you were crushing on Kevin, Sweet Pea couldn't care less and they always make fun of you for it
· One day they saw you carrying Kevin's textbooks for him between classes
· "Who knew you had a soft side Y/L/N"
· “I’ll punch your lights out Pea. And I’m soft? Need I remind you of your little escapades with Fangs?”
· “You said you wouldn’t tell!!”
· “I won’t. Just let loose a little Pea.”
· And then there was the night you were hanging out at Pop's and Kevin was cold so you gave him your jacket
· And you conveniently “forgot” after you took him home.
· But you did nab a hoodie
· the first time you kiss you're hanging out with Fangs, Sweet Pea, Toni Cheryl
· while playing truth or dare it's your turn and Sweet Pea dares you to kiss Kevin
· And you’re like *shoulder shrug* “okay” and boom. Kev’s eyes bug out and his hand goes to the back of your head.
·And you end up making out until Cheryl tells you to stop
· “You can make out later!” And you totally don’t sit next to Kevin for the rest of the gam
· When the night is over you drive him home and just sit in your car
· "So that kiss earlier"
· "Yeah It was nice"
· "Would you like to do it again?"
· “God so much!”
· And you guys are making out for like an hour and a half. Then sheriff keller knocks on the window.
· "Dad!"
· "Did you ever plan on coming inside Kevin or just stay lip locked with your boyfriend all night?"
· You let Kevin out and drive back home mortified.
· I feel like the first time you see Kevin naked or close too it was after he joined the wrestling team
· You tried so hard not to stare but Kevin went out of his way to make sure you noticed how low his towel was hanging around his waist
· You had seen everyone leave the gym but no Kevin and saw his bag purposely left on the bleachers (not that you knew that) and so you decided to check the locker room.
·“Kev? You in here?” And your mouth goes dry
· He gets right up next to you, his biceps still straining from practice
You can't stop yourself from pushing him against the lockers and kissing him
· He’s still a little wet from a shower too.
· “Hi...”
· “Hi Kevin... your uh bag was- was outside... wowzers...”
· "Maybe you should take the towel off..."
· "Are you sure? We haven't gone this far yet"
· "Take it off."
· Kevin drops the towel and you feel yourself get hard fast.
· “Like what you see?”
· “Yes I do.”
· Which begins your tradition of locker room bjs and or shared showers.
· your first time together fully having sex you start out real gentle to not hurt him which surprises Kevin because he expected you to be rough and Kevin has to tell you to go harder
· You guys both fuck like rabbits and that first time Kev is covered in cum. Which you lick off and that turns Kev on more. You’re so exhausted you nab a pair of his underwear and crash at his place.
· And his dad has just stopped asking questions whenever you stay over (mostly because he knows your home life has only gotten worse since the serpents were kicked out of the southside) and makes you pancakes in the morning
·  The first time he did that you walked down in Kevin’s clothes and were genuinely confused. You’ve made it up by prepping breakfast for them on a weekend.
·  After Fangs gets kicked out of the serpents, Kevin asks you to move in and you say yes. Cause you guys lost the southside and you weren’t ever going to say Jughead was the King.
·  You and Kevin share his bed while Fangs stays in the guest room
· Fangs has been roped into playing dnd now so many times he actually starting to enjoy it
· The three of you stay up on the weekends planning campaigns and designing characters and building dungeons. You even rope sweets into a few games
· Kevin's kinks are getting spanked and getting praised
· The spanking you figured out quickly because Kevin always squeaked a little whenever you smacked him on the ass
· For the praise kink you picked up on it when you jokingly called him a good boy in some non sexual situation and his cheeks got red so you decided to test it out in the bedroom
· Kevin has never cum harder than when his dad and Fangs were out for the weekend and you had been edging him for most of the night and called him a good boy for holding on and then said he could cum
·  And after he came he actually passed out from how much energy he had drained
· You cleaned him off and laid on his chest, passing out not long after
· You guys often go for runs out in fox forest, only half the time you finish you runs and the other half turns into making out against a tree
· Or a bj. You guys have done everything but fuck against a tree out there
·  You did try it once but Kevin got a splinter in his ass and that was not fun having to explain to his dad
· It’s not news that the serpents drink. But you got a bit too drunk and went shopping online... the box came in a few days and it turns out you go Kev a “special wrestling outfit
· Along with a few toys for good measure
· "Y/N! What if my dad opened this box!"
· “I’d be honest and say I ordered it. I was gonna anyway.”
· “What?!”
· “Well yeah... you’re ass is grass and I wanna mow it while you’re in that.”
· You've gotten scolded by teachers many times for making out in the hallways
· Kevin has walked around in your jacket. You swear Fangs almost had a heart attack
· And Kevin's dad was so pissed when he found out you guys got detention for "inappropriate displays of affection"
·  “I promise it won’t happen again.” And it doesn’t

Of interest to absolutely no one, but she jumped out of my head like peckin’ Athena, so:
OC tiiiiiime~ for someone else’s DnD world because I’m real cool like that, @modmad I wanna thank you again for putting together the Toonkind DnD playlists together because that’s currently my mental glue and it makes my brain go “!!”
The OC is not,  in fact, Toonkind. She’s Reelkind! A kenku, to be precise, which means if she’s at a distance and you squint you might mistake her for a bird-like Toonkind if you flubbed that Perception roll.
Her “proper name” that tends to get used on paperwork is “Will-Whistle-Work”. For those unfamiliar with kenku, they are roughly analogous to humanoid flightless crows, and communicate verbally solely through mimicry. Their real names are often just a jumble of sounds, which are then typically translated into Common in a descriptive fashion. So Will-Whistle-Work isn’t precisely a standard kenku name, but it’s the one she’s decided to stick with while in Toontown, and she’ll answer to Will or Whistle. Or “triple-u”, if you wanna be punny.
It might surprise her new Toon friends, then, to find out that other Reelkind in far-off lands previously called her “Will O’ Whistle”, because that’s a fun sort of pun on what her actual name is. Her actual factual kenku name is a very distinctive sound produced by the Engineer’s pride and joy, his train Will O’ the Wisp, or Willow. The train has an unmistakable whistle, and Will adopted it as her name from the first time she watched one of the Engineer’s films, which featured Willow. Her name is Willow’s whistle, punctuated by the crackling pop of very old and bad speakers trying to go too loud.
As you might guess, Will adores film. She loves the Engineer’s films, oh absolutely, but just film in general is her absolute favorite medium. A lot of films are made by Toonkind over Reelkind, since Toons have natural abilities that let them do some crazy stuff (animation supremacy UwUb), so she’s seen a lot of Toons on the silver screen before ever meeting them in real life. It’s a large part of why she moved to Einquell and Toontown, to get closer to the movie making process as well as because it seemed like the sort of place where people weren’t about to look at her funny because she had feathers.
She hoped to be an actor when she was younger, but in her old age of 18 (kenku do age faster than humans, so she’s comparitively mid-20s), she’s sort of resigned herself to working backstage. While her physical acting is up to par, she has been made very well aware by multiple people that her vocal “deficiencies” make her a poor choice for any sort of major role. She can mimic anyone and nearly anything perfectly, but she can’t actually speak in her own voice. She tried getting around this by having someone read phonemes aloud, but the end result is very flat and Microsoft Sam-like (think Moonbase Alpha). If she were to be an actor, she would essentially be a body double for someone else’s voice. Or she would have to essentially “steal” someone’s voice, whether or not they knew it.
Still, she’s actually quite happy at her current job- working at the Dodo Studios! Sure, she was hired on by DJ Mooves, and she’s absolutely too embarrassed to talk to the Engineer or ever go look at Willow, but Dodo Studios! Do you even know what sort of films they’ve turned out in past years? And now she’s a part of that?! Thanks in part to her kenku abilities but also her own hard work, she serves as one of the chief Foley artists. Even movies that are more of a music video need background sounds, after all!
Her class (probably, I have never played DnD) is an Artificer, which is the secondary reason for her name. Willow is a gorgeous piece of work, and Will absolutely wants to run her hands all over her and elope examine that beautiful piece of engineering and set design. You can absolutely see her perk up any time the train is as much as mentioned. She likes to tinker in her spare time, and she’s pestered the owls and penguins until they started teaching her about the cameras and other technology used in movie making. She’s drawn up a few plans for possible improvements (those broom cams are brilliant, but are there better ways to stabilize them? What about if-) but she’s unwilling to push herself or her ideas forward. Trying to give long explanations or convincing arguments is hard when you have to first check your memory for phrases said in the proper tone to give the emotional cadence you want.
And that’s mostly it for Will-Whistle-Work! She’ll whistle while she works, but not on set because she is a professional (and like all actors, slightly superstitious). She does like to call people not by their names, but by either their “catch phrases”, such as Snailien’s “Hello! Hello!”, or a joke, like referring to Larry with the dueling banjos theme. She also loves Toons because they make much funnier noises than humans, and also Grawlix is hilariously good fun to try and mimic. They also catch on faster to when she uses sound as an emotional or environmental queue, such as using the sound of a boiling kettle to indicate anger or embarrassment.

hey hey hey!! have u seen the new bloodkeep episode, and if so..... thoughts?
**spoilers for avanash and double pants the caged elf and the crown**
(I have another ask that I’m going to use to talk about the airship ambush ep)
Rekha on Fantasy Spelling: “J, apostrophe, O, H, Umlaut, N.”/ “An umlaut over the H???”
I love that this episode starts with them arguing politics with an eagle. Brennan takes every opportunity to start talking philosophy.
“Please don’t call it seed.”
I love than no one calls Leiland by his goth name at all. I don’t even remember what it is right now. He’s just Leiland, the giant mess of a Walmart ringwraith.
So the Vingury show up and everyone makes a point to be as unnatural and creepy as possible for the drama of it all instead of acting natural.
Leiland doing a full of Mice and Men on poor Deckland. That’s just what I was thinking before Matt made the reference.
I think Barbarian is such a fun class for a new player. Not a ton of of complications. Just messing people up.
I wonder what would have happened if they had tried to persuade one of the Vingury into making a sacrifice instead of ambushing Deckland.
OK, what did Deckland do to Leiland? Or vice versa?
Efink Skype calls Maggie’s dad who beats the tar out of Zaul’nazh when he finds out he knocked her up without putting a ring on it. “SHOW ME YOUR HANDS.”
Anyway, lbr. This episode is only important for two reasons: Avanash and Double Pants.
Based on the character image, I thought Avanash was going to be a straight Gollum expy but y’all. Y’all.
Sidenote, since the players know this is a LOTR game, I wonder how much meta-gaming they have to stop themselves from doing. Like, “OK, this is this character so I know they can be corrupted.”
“This dude is full crazy.”
“Oh hey.”
“Don’t make this gesture at him.”
“I guess the only query I would raise here is how are you going to keep my bones.”
The comedic brilliance of Avanash truly is the completely even and normal sentences that melt into complete nonsense.
“Are you them? What?”
This is just going to turn into me quoting everything Avanash said if I don’t rein it in now.
“What does this lady think she is? A river? HELP.”
Lilith going off on being sensitive about mental health terminology, even though she’s a full evil general of the magic empire trying to genocide like 3 races.
“WHAT IS CRAZY ABOUT WANTING YOUR BONES?” I want that on a shirt so bad.
Everyone just breaks down. No one can handle Avanash. Not even DnD vet Matt who has sat through some insanity. In terms of just pure humor, Avanash is Bren’s best NPC ever.
Markus’s question about the first five things he would do was a really smart move I think. Like, within this craziness, a very smart PC move.
Not even Brennan can keep a straight face. “I’m gonna be very clear.” He has to stop to crack up.
Maggie’s go to move is to just promise people shopping trips.
Good on Brennan for being such a cool DM. Bargaining for spell slots. Giving Jessa advantage on the pants roll to reward the, “She was a design major” improv. I would love to play at his table.
And then Leiland going off about child sweatshops. Sohkbar, “That’s where you draw the line?”
Lilith started making the “Where do eagles wear their pants” point and at first I was like, “Girl what?” but then, as she went on, I was like, “Hmm, she might be on to something.” Anyway
DOUBLE PANTS, DOUBLE PANTS, DOUBLE PANTS
Jessa coming in CLUTCH. A 19 and a NAT 20. Top of her class! What a wild roll on such a plot irrelevant thing. I love DnD so much.
For such a mercenary guy, Markus is kind of nice. Trying to give Leiland a morale boost last ep. Paying Jessa in this ep and offering to give her a commission for his crew, even though she would have done it for free to help her mom most likely.
The rest of the party is overseeing this very important plot point and Maggie is like, “Shopping episode!”
I was trying to figure out Efink’s name the other day and I didn’t so to find out in this ep that it’s KNIFE BACKWARDS and I didn’t notice murdered me instantly.
Also, I spent 2 hours trying to reverse that, “What do you have there?/A knife!/No!” gif  for a post after this ep but tumblr wouldn’t let me post it. But I want you to know that I tried.
Efink and Lilith’s friendship is so funny to me.
“Stop saying mean things about my friend!”
Also, I forgot to mention before, Stalker getting covered in spiders and being like, “AHHHH. Eh, not so bad.”
“I don’t use this word lightly. This guy is a Goober.”
Brennan’s happy DM face right to the camera set me on edge until the reveal. You never wanna see your DM make that face.
Markus and Leiland have a heart to heart. Leiland lightly flirts with Markus. I am here for it.
HAMHEAD HAS THE CROWN.
THIS IS WHY YOUR GUARD THE PRISONER YOU GUYS. THERE ARE SO MANY OF YOU.
Pushing Avanash in the lava was in character but I would have kept him around. There are still 3 non-Leiland Vingury. They could hypothetically made another crown.
Good on Erika for enlisting Stalker’s tracking skills. These PC’s really make use of the story elements to help them out.
All of the snapping and hand punching and stuff Brennan does is hypnotizing to me.
Cut back to Maggie who is still shopping. Wild.
Oh, wait. There’s one more important thing in this episode. Maggie using Power Word: Kill on the torture dude.  Like, not the actual spell, but that’s basically what happened.
“Cool. Maybe next time that will be the first thing out of your mouth instead of your fucking tight five.”
Truly brutal.
I didn’t know dire bats were a thing before now but I love them.
Olag is back because of course he is.
“THE KICKED DOWN AND MADE THE DOOR HAPPEN.”
“mISTRESS? You asshole!”
“How do you become the villains of the villains?”
Efink being, “Y’all, I can be queen of the good guys and get us all hall passes. We’re good.” She’s selfish but she’s also gonna get everyone out w/ her so there are layers here.
“GHOSTS ARE OUR THING. THEY’RE SPECIFICALLY MOST OF WHAT WE DO. THAT’S BULLSHIT!”
“You’re a large bird.”/ “You’re a large asshole.”
Efink kills Stalker which is another short sighted move I think but also very in character.
Anyway, they escape on Markus’ ship but are ambushed by his brother’s ship which is the lead in to next ep’s airship battle, which I’ll cover next!
Anyway, very curious about where this story is going to end seeing as we want the PC’s to succeed but a success for them means, like, straight genocide.

will byers and mike wheeler being in a loving long distance relationship. thoughts?
Oo okay I love this !!
I think that they would start actually dating towards the end of high school (maybe the end of junior year/ the beginning of senior year) — and they would go to different colleges
Will would go to New York following in Jonathan’s footsteps
Mike going somewhere in Indiana but far enough from home where it is a few hour drive
(This is also following the time period that they would be in college when following the show but I could do a modern day version also!!)
This would include:
1. Will designing intricate post cards of the places he’s been in the city and sending them to mike
2. Mike writing pages and pages of letters weekly to send to him
3. When it’s Winter break Will would come home and spend half the month in Hawkins and then after Christmas the two would fly back to New York for the remainder of the break
4. I think Will would probably be crashing at Jonathan’s apartment in the city and Jonathan is just like <33333 (random but pls)
5. Will and Mike know each other’s class and work schedules so they can have an idea of where the other is
6. MIKE SURPRISING WILL DURING HIS SPRING BREAK SINCE HIM & WILLS DIDNT LINE UP
7. Will sometimes has nightmares and he calls Mike not thinking of the time and he feels so bad every time and Mike is just like “babe pls it’s fine”
8. ^i think that Lucas and Mike probably go to the same college and get their own apartment together
9. Will comes to visit because school ends for the year earlier than Mike and Lucas is like “I WANNA HANG WITH HIM TOO” and Mike is like “YEAH AND WHEN DUSTIN COMES I WANT TO HANG WITH HIM BUT NOOO YOU WONT LET THAT”
10. Daily they talk to each other on the phone and Will was telling a story about his friends and he mentions another guy and Mike is like “excuse ??????” Since Will mainly has friends that are girls there and Will is like “Mike I’m going to kick you next time I see you if you start”
11. Mike obviously doesn’t think the guy is a threat but he makes a joke of it every time Will mentions him saying “HOWS YOUR OTHER BOYFRIEND” and Will is like “STOP”
12. Will keeps a picture of him and mike on his bedside table that he always looks at 🥺
13. Mike has that binder of drawings that Will made over the years and is always looking at it when he misses Will
14. One day over the phone Mike mentions in passing something about living together when their out of school and Will almost drops the phone onto a jar of paint he’s like “HOLY SHIT HE THINKS OF THAT” and mike is like “hello??????”
15. Will mentions being invited to play dnd and mike is like “are you going to go??” And Will is like “AND JOIN ANOTHER PARTY?? ARE YOU NUTS???”
16. ALSO will always runs to hug mike when they reunite and always nearly knocks him down (the first few times he did so he’s learned to be ready)
I have so many thoughts for this it wasn’t supposed to be this long lol I have even more but I’ll leave this for now

The Property of Dragons
Because why not take the two things that I am obsessed with and squish them together? Some Teepoh D&D race/class suggestions for your consideration...
RGB: Human. True Neutral. Either an Arcane Trickster with the Entertainer background, or a Bard with the Criminal background. He could also easily be a Bard/Rogue multiclass that could be either background tbh, since canonically he’s both.
Hero: WHO INVITED A LITERAL CHILD TO AN IN-UNIVERSE ACTUAL DND PARTY. OH. THATS RIGHT. JEEBS DID. She's like... Kind of hard to pin down, actually. Definitely at Level 1, perhaps a Sorcerer, or a Paladin whose cause is SAVING THE WORLD AND EVERYBODY IN IT. Probably human? True Good alignment.
Dial: Related to RGB, so human or half human at least. He's also hard to say. Given his current standing with Hate, I might call him either a Cleric or, maybe more accurately for our antagonist, a Warlock?
TOby: I wanna say one of the pint-sized races, like the world’s most bitter gnome or something. My only criteria for his class is that it allows him to cast the Vicious Mockery spell.
Julienne: I know nothing about the bird races aside from the fact that there's like, three of them, and that she's got to resemble a pink flamingo still. She's also a Monk, who will destroy you unarmed with the power of ballet. (Don’t worry, she’s just a Monk for the ninja powers, she’s still married to Melody)
Melody: Bard, absolutely. The tricky part is her race, if we go by her comic appearance, she's almost definitely something large and scary-looking (Orc, Minotaur, other large creature i cannot think of?), but if we use Mod's humanized design for her then I'd say she's an adorable halfling. This choice does not affect her personality in any way, she's good and filled with love no matter what size she is.
Assok: "Kenku cannot create new sounds and can communicate only by using sounds they have heard. Most kenku use a combination of overheard phrases and sound effects to convey their ideas and thoughts.“ Probably more the party mascot than a PC, I have no idea what kind of class Assok would have.
Click: Could be same class as Dial, or maybe a Ranger, but honestly the guy is a Gunslinger, even though I don't think that class is "technically" canon. Soldier background.
Tinker and Tailor: to be honest, I have no idea. Maybe Wizard!Tinker? They’re both Guild Artisans at least.
Magnus: School of Illusion Elf Wizard, obviously. My gut instinct is High Elf, but Steel's said in the past that Magnus has had a career in supervillainy in a past life, so I'm also down for a Drow!Magnus too (also the hair would match). Perhaps a Sage or an Entertainer?
Madras: Wizard, or perhaps some kind of Alchemist. Guild Merchant variant of the Guild Artisan background. I'm not sure on her race, but it’s probably one that is not usually associated with the good guys. She is the personification of an eye disease, after all.
anyway, discuss as you do so please...
