Also hey unrelated but. My autistic ass can only read so much wiki or trawl the Internet for Forbidden Story Information before my eyes start to glaze over. I know the *name* Dawn Machine but I never got around to doing its Sunless Sea quest (something something The Sun drives people mad??? Space is made of gods or something right? I know the giant undersea Mouth is like. A fallen god or something) anyway what I'm saying is please consider this an open offer to infodump potentially in DMs about whatever Fallen London lore is particularly itching your brain because i *will* eat that shit up like a hungry baby bird

Sorry this took a bit to get to, my grad school semester started and I was a bit all over the place. You can ask me about the forbidden story information: But Watch Out. (major spoilers under the cut for FL and sskies) Anyway without further ado, *deep breath*

The Dawn Machine is an artificial judgement built a few decades ago and is now under the jurisdiction of the admiralty. They use it as an excuse to be horrible imperialists but I don't think they actually care about the machine's consciousness beyond using it as a tool of oppression. It hates everyone and itself. It knows it shouldn't exist and that makes it angry. It wTHE SUN THE SUN THE SUN THE SUN THE SUN THE SUN THE SUN THE S- and I digress. It has a counterpart in skies called the Clockwork Sun which is in a similar situation but slowly dying and on its way to taking the whole region with it. They turn stuff to crystal or glass respectively which I'm really curious as to why, considering the White (who is like a cosmic spymaster and the main villain of the judgements, you can fight me on this it's true) is described as having "a hall of poisoned crystal." All my homies HATE the white. YOU can't oppose the white but I'm built differently. I read a single line of text in skies that teased "the war on the white" and I'm like hey get back here! You can't just drop that and leave! I hope the recent lore declassification means we'll get a story in Fallen London exploring more of it (and violence against it)

Which leads into the second point, "space is made of gods." The Judgements, the stars, whatever you call them are godlike beings at the top of the order called the great chain, which is an allegory to victorian era social hierarchy. The chain dictates how powerful you are and what your role is and you're not supposed to be allowed to change your place. Understandably this made many people very angry and is widely considered to be a bad move, etc. Anyway the judgements are more or less what it says on the label, space's judges and courts who make the laws of the universe. Light is Law. From skies, there are lines that suggest the judgements didn't choose their role either. "The chain binds us all. It is our privilege to enforce it." I want to know what happened, like did they put themselves in power a long time ago and current generations remain stuck? Interesting for how an oppressive system harms those on top too. Also, we know that they weren't always in charge. There are characters in skies (Mr Menagerie) who remember a time before they ruled. There is no divine right of kings. This system didn't always exist and it can be overthrown. They aren't gods. They're fallible as mortals with petty wars and affairs and they don't want anyone to know how many problems their society has. "As below, so above." The liberation of the night seeks to overthrow all tyrants, up to and including the stars.

In sunless skies you can interact with the sapphir'd king, the lord of the dead, whom I affectionately like to call the Sapphire'd bitch. I wrote a fic about meeting him and from that point kept talking about how I wanted to plot his demise. Then the truth ambition said "congrats. You get to plot the demise of the sapphird king" and I said "oh. Neat. Back to being a merchant while I process that for 3-5." Sure is a game! Shortly tho, once I work up the nerve, I'll be finishing the "truth" ambition in skies and so will be posting a whole thing when I do, likely incoherent. Look forward to it.

Something specific that interests me in skies is how you can interact with a character who used to be a judgement but seemingly willingly chose to descend the chain to human. She remembers being a cruel leader and is glad she is no longer, and specifically a masculine figure so like yay trans rights. But we already know I have strong feelings towards beings that used to be stars 🙈

Now as for the third thing I haven't played much sea but I know there's speculation the Neath was formed from the skull of a dead god. Storm, one of the zee gods, is a dead god whose consciousness lingers and is angry because it knows it's dead. We see this in skies as well, the "bones of a star" which are large enough to encompass London, whose mind lingers in a ghost, angry to be dead.

I could go into some of the other stellar characters we learn about in skies but I'll save that for another post and more organized thoughts.

Anyway, I had enough of paranoia preventing me from posting stuff. I haven't said shit about any AU of mine for a hot minute, so today I'll say something about King's Guard. I won't be writing this story for awhile (like a year or more in the future since I write slow), and this is prologue stuff anyway so it isn't that much of a spoiler. If you're like me, you'll probably forget this by then anyway. Still going to put it under the read more though. :3

Warning: Major character death, but also not.

For better context, Pico and Boyfriend had no idea about the other's true identity as an assassin and prince respectively. They happened to bump into each other in the market when dressed as commoners, and increasingly frequent encounters made them slowly fall for each other.

When the night the crown prince was going to be named arrived, Pico used the masquerade as an opportunity to sneak in. A few other assassins from the Ravenlight Order, the group he works for, joins him to ensure the prince with the Voice of Authority wouldn't escape. All the ginger was told about his target was that he had blue hair, and that he would be wearing a raven mask. He was also told to proceed with caution since there were rumours about the danger of the prince's Voice. It alone could cause the heaven's light to smite him, and he didn't want to get into a fight if the rumours were true. He could only do so much as an ordinary human after all.

As the target was walking to the throne to accept his role as crown prince, Pico emerged from the crowd to strike. He ended up slashing the man's mask in half, and saw his lover beneath it. With no time to think, he betrays the Ravenlight Order to protect him. An unknown third party overwhelms him as a curse of silence was placed upon Boyfriend. The ginger was stabbed in the back, and his vision faded as the prince was taken away. He thought it was over when a female voice echoed in the darkness.

"I can give you the means to live until you avenge your king. All I need is your soul."

(This is like 5% ask and 95% compliments) I have to extend all my love and thanks over Midnight Ocean! I’m on my third re-read of the story (and I’m severly dyslexic, so reading the entire thing multiple times is the most I’ve read probably in my entire life!). You are so beyond dedicated to your writing and I can’t thank you enough for it <3 Your story keeps me on my toes, all of the characters are SO rich and nuanced, all of their relationships, conflicts and imperfections truly shine in your work. I’m affraid your work has spoiled me for fanfiction, i keep thinking ”but damn… this isn’t Midnight Ocean levels” and then go and continue my re-reads. Once it’s complited, by the gods, I’m going bind it by hand in leather.

I’m beyond excited for the upcoming events when ever they happen: Hades finding out about Zagreus, whatever Persephone has got cooking up, their first true ”I love you” and of course the removing of the pall. (And events yet unexpected by me!!)

What is something you’ve been waiting to write and see readers react to? (As much as you can tell obviously)

Can’t begin to describe how much of a joy MO has been and continues to be. I look forwards to updates like the rising of the moon. Genuinely from the bottom of my heart, thank you <3

I'll go ahead and answer the rest under the cut to avoid spoiling things.

And of course, as I was typing the spoilers turned... sort of major so lol beware?

I've gotten to a few parts I've been waiting and waiting to write recently, but they won't be posted to Ao3 yet (Moros Silly Boy Behavior, Alcmene's Return, Nemesis' Box Reveal, the joys of using Eros' book). But the really, really big ones I haven't gotten to yet are of course things that readers are most excited for, too, like the Hades meeting, Olympus' reaction, things like that.

A few I don't think people mention a lot, though: Theseus™, (maybe big spoilers for people who aren't familiar with mythology, though I think this has been mentioned in the notes) Theseus' whole deal with both Medea and Heracles (and how that then is meant to foil Thanatos' dynamics), Heracles for that matter, also...... Ares' return to the story... the DILF energy we need in these trying times.

Hades and Thanatos' relationship is one I've thought about so much over the years, and I'm so excited to finally get to put that on the page and see people respond. Demeter is also such an important figure in all of this that often gets ignored both by me and others, and she'll be very, very fun to finally include. The continuation of Hermes' background arc stuff...

Something only me and like two random people are invested in: the continuation of Moros bullshit. My poor little meow meow, my perfect uwu foil to my other perfect uwu baby (Thanatos). My silly rabbit, here to cause problems and help Zagreus establish more independence if entirely unintentionally etc. And Moros' goofy little romance arc, that will be fun.

Also, the actual proper Cupid & Psyche Moment, y'know, the big part of the narrative. Sometimes people ask if it will happen, really expressing that they can't see it as even a possibility in the MO narrative, or others express total unfamiliarity with the plot of the myth so they don't know about The Moment at all (part of why I'm reluctant to clarify What Moment lmao)... I'm eager for that, though I know it will result in people being very, very angry at me.

I don't think this is tooooo spoilery because I think it's been made clear it will happen, but Eros showing up will be so fun, not to mention Psyche! Actual Psyche lol! We can't have a whole narrative about soul porn without the OG soulfuckers.

Oh, Hypnos too. And Pasithea who has unwittingly had her marriage present (the Eros book) lowkey highjacked.

Sorry this mostly turned into incoherent babbling. I hope it's both not too spoilery, but also answers the question lol? Either way, thank you again!

genuinely so like. conflicted about writing I think it's chapter 9 of htkai? major spoilers but it's. rather gorey. and like. nobody knows this about me but like a Thing™ happened a couple years ago and I'm super squeamish to like gore I'm able to see (even like. a general cut has me flapping my hands in a /neg way. idk in general I'm squeamish but now? much more). but thankfully whump makes me feel safer writing violent stuff cuz I have control over what I see and don't see and. I don't want to say I get triggered easily but I kinda do and I'm just. unsure whether I should actually write it.? cuz like. a major gory thing happens with madir and rayan and it leads to rayan getting OUT and it's such an important part of character development but at the moment (idk I'm just feeling super paranoid again rn) I'm just not feeling it.

I don't know so it's up to debate if you've read all that!!! should rayan like. be born without a leg, or should I just scrap the whole thing with him having a prosthetic thanks to madir? I dunno! anyhow sorry for this serious post, I do try and be Silly And Goofy™ on this blog despite the Horrors™ lmao

i'm planning on picking up art again! it's been a while and i've never really drawn people but i do enjoy tracing pictures to put these boys into situations. i think it'll be nice to do a little doodle thing on @theeleventhcrow where people send me horny images and i'll try and draw the driver's faces on it. could be fun idk. i'm not good at art but i feel a little bit motivated for the fist time in a long while!

depending on how life is gonna look like and how my fic ideas are gonna be and if it all goes how i want to or if i randomly get a 350k fic idea (unlikely!), i might open commissions! but i'm not even sure if people would want to pay for my writing. it could be fun to try and write new things bc of it, you know? we'll see.

BEFORE YOU PROCEED: SPOILERS FOR THE HOURGLASS THRONE BY KD EDWARDS BENEATH THE CUT. IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THIS MASTERPIECE YET, STOP READING NOW AND GO DO IT. I'M SERIOUS YOU WILL SCREAM.

So, I finally caved and just bought the online version of The Hourglass Throne. I had kinda lost some interest in the series while waiting and was just excited for a chill read to go over the next couple of days.

I finished it in a day. No, actually. Six hours, including breaks to let me process everything I had read.

It's been about a day, and I've had some time to process and now I just. Just. Have so many THOUGHTS. and stuff. so here this is. Spoilers start now, so if you haven't read it yet, back away. I promise, it is so much better going in blind.

Okay. Okay. Where to start.

Number One: OH MY GODS. I have to start with ~the secret~ because, well, OBVIOUSLY. I had kind of guessed some major aspects about it. Of course KD would go there with my boys, but it still hurt to see me theories confirmed. I knew that Rune hated geas(es?) and I assumed it had something to do with that night, and that, plus my suspicion of Brand's possible involvement- it was pretty easy to put together the pieces as guess Brand had been put under a geas and was forced to hurt Rune, but now can't remember that. HOWEVER.

EVERYTHING ELSE? OH MY GODS. RUNE. RUNE, BABY. I AM GOING TO SOB.

Finding out that Brand wasn't only possibly a part of Rune's assault (I'm not sure the text ever actually confirmed he hurt Rune? I'll have to re-read that when I've finally processed everything that happened) but the direct link for the destruction of the entire Sun Court? I. I kind of thought that Run was over-reacting before about the whole secret (like, it was based in shame or something/he wanted to protect Brand's feelings from hurting him) but to find out it's actually that bad!? And everything else? That Brand could still possibly be used to hurt Rune? Gods, this- this has so much potential.

And, of course, OF COURSE. How could I forget? Finding out about the conspiracy? The garage? The Owl and Snake? F**k, man.

Okay, next elephant in the room. TOWER. He was already my second favorite character (behind Brand- wow, KD really did just put as much angst around my favorite characters as he possibly could, huh?) and I liked him. This book somehow made me almost completely trust him, then actually trust him, then fucking LOVE HIM and then it just. IT TOOK HIM FROM ME? Whether or not he comes back, I am so, absolutely devestated.

I will admit, I wish that KD delved deeper into his bond with Brand, made it more gradual, and got an actual apology, but in the context of the greater story and the characters, I still really enjoyed his progression.

I just. Have so many thoughts. What happens now? Will Dalton take the Dagger Throne?? What about MAYAN???? I need more. I need more. (And yet, I don't think I could even handle more, seeing as I'm still trying to handle ALL OF THIS, DAMMIT.

Ciaran. That's all I need to say. If I didn't love him before, I absolutely adore him now. I should've known, but of course, KD's outline wins again. What else do you have planned? I can see you leaving all these breadcrumbs that I don't even have time to FOCUS ON because there is just so much. (In a good way.)

Alright. Okay. Other things that I hyperfocused on:

Um. The River Chapter? With Quinn and Brand speaking? Not only did I almost cry, I can very much say, OH SHIT. I had got some great foreshadowing from the king of foreshadowing.

I mean, Brand, mentioning he was feeling a weird connection to Addam?? ALMOST LIKE RUNE?? And let's not forget, remember what was said about tallas before? How you can move space and time to get to your talla? Like Rune did for Brand? There is no way their connection is completely gone. I will bet my soul on it, and I will bet my soul on the fact that they will get it back.

And now I'm just thinking back. To the flower on the balcony of half-house in the epilogue of the first book? oh my GODS he's been playing us all along.

And yeah. Ha. tallas. oh my god tallas. Do you know what this means?>??

ADDAM AND RUNE. ADDAM AND RUNE AND POSSIBLY BRAND IN THE FUTURE. OR QUEERPLATONIC RELATIONSHIPS. I DON"T CARE WHICH ROUTE KD GOES, I AM JUST SO EXCITED FOR THIS RIDE.

And Quinn! I need to mark down as much as I possibly can about that boys' secrets/prophesies. He's not a FUCKIG SEER ANYMORE? WHO'S GONNA SAVE OUR IDIOT PROTAGONISTS NOW??

(ALSO, WHO TF IS TAVIS. AND SO MANY MORE QUESTIONS.)

Remus. That is all.

Also, I have to mention- this book and it's relevations recontextualizes almost EVERYTHING else important in the series. KD is such a master of foreshadowing. I need to read back the other books, but from even just what I can remember, HOLY SHIT. THE DOCK SCENE? RUNE'S REACTION TO BRAND THINKING HE WAS EXCUSING/JUSTIFYING RUNE'S ASSAULT WITH HIS ACTIONS. OH MY GODS. KD, you absolute fucking genius. You've been playing us this entire time, and I am so incredibly grateful for it.

Side Note: I'll probably put up a more comprehensive review together when I'm able to re-read this thing, but the emotional energy this book took away from me (in a good way!) was very vast, and I still need to adjust to all of this shit. So, we'll see.

These are just kind of my scattered thoughts. I would like to know yours, if you have read this book, because there is so much to be said about this series. Just- wow. KD, you blew all of my expectations out of the watere again and again, kept me engaged the entire time, and raised the stakes to where I was actually worried and unsure where you were going to go.

This was my favorite book series before reading THT, and the best one I've ever read, and yet somehow, it had exceeded all expectations in every single way. I don't know if there's a level higher than favorite/best book series you've ever read, but if there is, this series inhabits a level several levels above that. I am so, incredibly excited to see where this will go.

So, I've started working on the first draft of one of my novels. I've got roughly around 900-something words, out of what i hope to be 60k+. But, I was thinking, maybe I could first publish it on AO3 to get feedback and such, for when I actually publish it? And also get people who would read it, when it *does* get published. Publishing it on AO3 would also give me motivation to continue working on it. But, basically, the reason I'm making this post is seeing if anyone would even be interested. If so, interact with this post! Whether its liking, or reblogging, etc it's just so I know people would be interested :) I'll put what the novel is about under the cut, so this post isnt a whole wall for someone to scroll through lol

So, first of all, the title of it would most likely be Hallowed Realm/The Hallowed Realm. It's going to be a series. It's very loosely inspired by the book The Thirteenth unicorn; (Shoutout to you if you know what book I'm talking about!) I remember reading it when I was younger, and it stuck w/ me for some reason (found family and fantasy. It was the first fantasy book i read!) This series takes place in a world w/ a pantheon of gods i made, and yeah! Here's the plot of it, though;

It follows the MC, Aiden Hale. Aiden, his mom, and his little sister move to his mothers childhood home a few months after his mother had divorced his father. After a few days of helping his mom unpack and settling in, he decides to go exploring on the property. Upon doing this, he finds this large tree, deep into the woods, overgrown with vines and flowers and such. Long story short, he finds a nook in the tree and trips in, getting transported to a different realm. This is where he meets our other MC, Onyx. This basically opens Aiden up to a whole world of magic and stuff. I'm not that good at making summaries without giving major spoilers, so this is it! It also has a lot of lgbtqia+ rep <3

Hello, I am here to excitedly rave about Only You Darling and shower you in well-deserved compliments. Anybody else reading this, stop if you haven't read Only You Darling as there will be SPOILERS.

First of all, your writing is brilliant, I wish I could come up with plots like you do. I have so many fics that I start writing and then I don't know how to get from A to B or what should happen next and just give up.

I have read Only You Darling (and also What The Body Wants, the whole concept of that fic >>>) twice now, and I'm sure I'll read it again in the future. My first read was a wild ride, I was so invested, I thought what if it's Yeonjun and Beomgyu but nah, then I when Soobin came into the picture I was sure it was Soobin and then it was Beomjun! Every time I thought i had it figured out, you had me doubting myself. I loved all the twists and turns and the way I was so stressed after everything went down and the reader was living in that house, the imagery that you created was amazing. I have to say that it's the best fic I've read on this site. Hands down. I don't think I've read such a well planned and fleshed out fic in maybe a decade (not to show my age haha), after I was done reading I felt as if I'd just watched a movie. I don't even get through thriller novels, I always get bored with the pacing or the writing, but you had me in the palm of your hand.

I'm sure I have more thoughts, but right now they're just a blurred mess of excitement and awe. Thank you for sharing your work and making me excited about reading fics again. I am slowly making my way through the rest of your stuff, I'm sure I will be back to word-vomit on you about other stories in the future!

AHHHHSJDBSKDB BUT THANK U OMG 💔💔 when i first started writing on here i’d neverrrr thought i’d be writing long fics so consistently… even 10k was a huge rare accomplishment to me akzbwkdjs,,, it takes time to really figure out what works and what doesn’t with writing methods but… i wish you the best of luck with all your wips and i’m sure you’ll be able to have a breakthrough someday with any you might be struggling on !!! i believe in you !!!

YOU’VE READ OYD TWICE. Oh… my heart T_T idk but like,, i’ve never really been able to grasp the concept that people actually.. reread my stories. That’s genuinely one of the most flattering things to hear in my opinion bc 😭😭 to hear that i’ve managed to write a fic that’s worth being read again is mind blowing to me algskldgh (also thank you !!! WTBW is forever near and dear to my heart <3)

It’s always so satisfying to hear that my attempts on tricking the readers were successful hehe :3 it was one of the major things i was worried about tbh,,, it took a lot of thinking on how i would introduce soobin’s character and how he would be involved, so im happy to hear that my work paid off ! and imagery was something that i learned was very important while writing oyd; it really makes or breaks a scene, imo. Especially in those final cabin scenes,,, AGH idk im so giddy to have it pointed out tho bc i do put a little extra love and effort into my imagery :3

AWWWWSLDKGHH UGH YOU’RE JUST. im gonna sob. The best fic.. dont say that to me im crazy 😭😭 but aggggh it makes me feel so appreciated and seen to read that you think it’s well planned like :(( i remember how much effort i put into that fic omg… that story is my baby im afraid

Hello, I am Frosty (She/They, AroAce, with ADHD,) the author for Ichika. And this is my Writing Blog. I thought her up a few years ago and have been fiddling with her character ever since. I'll give a basic rundown of how she interacts with the plot below the cut. (I am working on a fic but I have re-written the first 5 chapters more then once due to the POV being weird and clashing with the story.)But first, ground rules! <3

Please Be Kind. I don't mind criticism, in fact that's one of the reasons I'm finally making a blog for this. What I do mind is needlessly harmful, or even potentially harmful comments, to me or anyone else. Just use common sense please. <3

No NSFW please. I don't mind a little spice but NSFW makes me uncomfortable most of the time.

Please don't ship Ichika with anyone. I have multiple reasons for this but I simply request that you don't ship her. (Of course I can't and won't even try to stop you from headcanon pairings but please don't bring ships onto the blog.)

Read the TWs on posts please! This is less of a rule and more of a warning. There are some things regarding her story that can be triggering. I'll put a generalized TW list under the rules with TWs that appear multiple times (or are major) in the story here, and then each post will be tagged appropriately. Ichika is lost in the woods when she runs into Tanjiro, who is on his way back home. (Ep 1) Upon the discovery of his family, Ichika does her best to comfort him and get Nezuko to a doctor. Blah blah basic OC insert....

Or is it?

Ichika has more skill then she lets on. Her instincts are on point and she seems to have more stamina then she should without training. Regardless, she continues on, learning information about the Demon Slayer Corps with Tanjiro, and doing her best to help the last survivors of a family she was to late to help.

There are some Odd interactions that Tanjiro notices with Ichika but he just can't figure out what or why. He doesn't want to press too much though, he doesn't want to be rude and Ichika is risking her life for his sister and him.

He does know a few things about her though. Ichika wears an eyepatch on her left eye, not because she's blind in that eye but because she doesn't like people seeing it. She is skilled in hand to hand combat and medicine. She knew about demons before she met him. She gets scared by new people so easily, but it's mild... suppressed... Almost as if she doesn't want to feel it or is hiding it.

(I will eventually add a Full summary of Ichika's story and link it here. However it will be full of spoilers so it might hamper the enjoyment of other posts.)

so, i doubt someone's gonna read this, i just had to write it, anyways, if you read it, forgive me for the shitty english and thank you❤️

-all the times nanami lies to you-

(nanami x f!reader, a little bit sad, some blood, some people crying)

⚠️: big ass manga spoilers, major character death, my bad english and a shitty ending.

kento nanami is so beautiful, and a good person, he's serious, he's blunt, he's tall and the coolest sorcerer you've ever seen.

maybe that's why you've been in love with him since you were just a teenager trying her hardest to look cool while doing her sorcerer stuff...just for him, because you're sixteen and thats what sixteen years olds do in front of their crush.

maybe thats why you're in love with him a tone years after, looking at the only beautiful eye that's left on his half burnt face, in the middle of some place in shibuya's station.

there's only one problem with kento nanami: he lies (like a lot).

he tells you that he will go to the movies with you when he comes back from that easy mission he has to go with haibara.

oh, nanami, you liar!

he tells you that he only needs a couple weeks to heal after the mission fails, but he'll be back (he promises) and then you will for sure go out wherever you want to.

oh, nanami, you liar!

he tells you that it's ok for you to accept to go on a date with gojo, because gojo is going through a lot, but if it was fine, why did he never call you back?

oh, nanami, you liar!

he tells you, when you see him after some years in a small bakery, that if you haven't changed your number, he'll call you so you can go out for a drink and catch up, but he must be really busy with that job of his, because he never really does.

oh, nanami, you liar!

you see him again, of course, he comes back, like he told you, just ten years after, and you can't find the strenght to look at him, so you don't.

and kento is confused, did you really changed that much? do you hate him? are you with gojo or something? what has he done for you not to spare him a word?

"you're a liar, nanami, i just can't keep going after you like a lost puppy"-you tell him after he asks you in a whisper, because for fuck's sake! aren't you two friends? aren't you his only friend left?- "friends? since when?"- since highschool, duh- "no, we aren't. we never were. at least you never were my friend, and i'm no liar, kento nanami, i acted like a friend because i was so in love with you i needed to be that for you first"- was, huh?- "i was selfish, but not anymore, live your life and i will do the same"

he tells you that you're crazy if you think he's gonna just leave after that, does that "was" mean you don't feel anything anymore? or what is worse, does that mean you've been holding those feelings all these years and haven't told him anything?

well, you tried to, so many times, and he knows it, it's just that he was to busy fighting, and coping, and working, and stressing, and just being a walking dead man to tell you that the first time he saw you he knew that he would marry you one day.

so he tells you now, he tells you that he has some things to work with this itadori kid and then he'll take you out on a date.

and for the first time, kento nanami doesn't lie, and you end up all sweaty in his bed, daydreaming of going to sleep like this for the rest of your life.

but you know he sees him, when he looks at yuji, he sees yu, and he breaks down and cries and blames himself and tells you that that night you spent together was just an stress reliever.

oh, nanami, you liar!

it's late in the afternoon when gojo tells you not to worry, he's the strongest, everything is under control, but he needs you all in shibuya, just to take care of the curses, and your broken heart breaks a little bit more when you realize the chaos in the station.

so does kento's, he watches people die here and there and realizes that maybe (just maybe) he could die too, and there's no more "i'm gonna get her killed like i did with my best friend" when he admits that he is, in fact, a liar, and that sleeping in the same bed as you after opening his heart was everything he could hope to have in his life from now on if you accept his apologies.

"just let's finish this", he says, "just leave everything after, let's get married after this, okay?", he says, "we'll have our own place and a lot of kids and we'll read all of those stupid books a always buy"

"oh, nanami, you liar" you whisper at what's left of him, after mahito puts an end to your dreams. you're sure yuji is behind you, you're sure his hands are shaking your shoulders and his tears are falling on the top of your head; you just can't feel it. did mahito touch you too? did he just touch your heart? did he break it enough for you to stop feeling things? no, he didn't, he laughed at you when you were just behind your lover while he disappeared right there, sure, he laughed at you when the only words you said were "hey, hey, mahito, mahito, hey..." oh, you will never forget his smile. "hey, mahito, i didn't even get to say goodbye or something" the laugh that left his mouth was enough for you to stop feeling.

"a twisted curse, huh, gojo? tell me about it"

itadori blinks once or twice, looking at you, "love", you say "gojo said that love is the most twisted curse of all...he was damn right, look at me, what am i supposed to do now, huh? do i jump in front of the next train, do i wash all this blood? do i blame him for being a fucking liar?"

"we have to kill him"- he whispers- "then we think about the future"

and you laugh through your tears and on your knees, and touching kento's knees, and looking at his shoes.

"it's fine, yuji, everything will be fine, i just wanna cry him a little, yeah?" you say "go before me, he asked you to take it from here, didn't he?"

and you watch the boy running after noding at you, and you promise him that you'll go right after.

"i'll be fine, you know? because i hate you" you spit the words at the corpse next to you "how can you make it so easy, i sweat everytime i lie, how can you be such a good liar? i hate you" cleaning the sweat off your hands on your jeans you take a deep breath.

"see? i can't do it yet"

Been thinking about triangle symbolisms that were used a lot in Sankaku Mado. In the ED, we always see a "triangle" that in PASH magz Dec'21 issue mentioned as 'the two people who care about Mikado' (Hiyakawa and Mukae).

But what I've always wanted to talk about is another tricorner that is Erika, Hiyakawa, and Sensei. These 3 people with similar power (yet different in their executions) who happened to be the tragic characters in the story...for what I assume had degrees of being exploited by the 'family' around them growing up. I find it very interesting because the story of these three gifted people are like a life stage, heavily influenced by the presence of other people (or lack thereof, in Hiyakawa's case) in their lives which later on determined how they view the world, their outlook, their drives, and the ways they treat others.

I'll put it under Keep reading cz it contains spoilers for those who haven't read the manga.

Out of the 3, Erika and Sensei have the most similar power in which they are the hexers. Tho, when Erika uses the dead to help her put on curses, Sensei seems to have developed the ability of using the negative energy from both the dead and the living.

Erika, this beautiful, stylish, genius 16-year-old necromancer, is probably the most fortunate out of the three and also the most salvageable at this point. She had been abused and forced to do scary stuff, ripped off parental/familial love just like the other two. At the same time she also has experienced what it felt like to hold the power over someone else's life. Yet, what differs her the most from the other two is the constant presence of none other than Sakaki.

Last ep, we saw Mukae said that 'she doesn't have any adult to protect her'. Well, yes that's true because Sakaki isn't able to prevent her from being exploited but other than that, Sakaki had been, to some extent, the 'safe place' that Erika can return to all the time without any worries of being betrayed. His loyalty towards keeping Erika safe and sound was ,at this point, unquestionable.

Despite being a yakuza and definitely not the most upright person for a teenage girl to hang out with, he, at least, is the only level-headed adult around Erika, that prevented her from having no empathy towards others or being downright twisted. I doubt this one was the only occasion where he lectured Erika.

And Erika was never shunned from society. She may have skipped a lot of school time but she gets normal education like others her age, has close friends, and most importantly, someone she can rely on. That feeling of being protected by someone other than yourself, of feeling safe in the presence of someone important to them, turns out to be one of the major turning points in Sankaku. As we can see, Erika hasn't developed any sort of twisted principles, hatred (other than for his father), or cursing people for her own interests more than harmless spells, to gain power of her own. Her only interest is to live like a normal teen and to be able to love herself, which is mainly the consequence of what the exploitation made her feel.

On the other hand, Sensei...we didn't know much about his circumstances before meeting Mikado's mom. However, there is one line in the manga when Mikado's mom said when they were about to marry, that Sensei was having difficulties with his family/parents so their moving in together was delayed. It wasn't elaborated further but it raised questions about, what was his deal with his family, was it his real parents? regular family problems? or maybe he was also the victim of a type of exploitation for his power?

Despite living happily with his family for the last 4 years, after leaving them he was convinced that there was no other way for people like him to live normally like other people. That what he wanted to do and what he was suited to do were different things. This was also what made me more sure about the fact that he was, before married, probably also endured exploitation until he could get out of it.

The changes in Sensei's outlook and belief after finally meeting his safe place and after he chose to sacrifice it to make sure his family was unharmed, out of love for his wife, were absolutely jarring that it was curious what happened in between.

This happened when he was homeless, penniless, and was found by the Yakuza boss (of Sakaki's syndicate). He saw how the boss had a happy family, rich and all, and in the end, it triggered his envy. He suddenly turned to believe that there was nothing good left for people with a special ability like him because he had to suffer while the others got to live so might as well use it to his own advantage.

We also can see that sentiment was brought up much later when he was already well-off. In how he responded to Hiura...

Was it his envy talking? that crook people like Hiura still can have a family while he himself doesn't? The way I see it, that is always the source of his hatred, which is something he longed for so much deep down yet had to let it go. Family, especially his wife, who is his only 'safe place'. (I'm not sure just how much he loved his own son tbh).

But, we didn't know why he was so convinced that the 'ghosts' he saw every day would one day kill his wife while we know those ghosts never tried to hurt Mikado-kun even once while growing up, and then chose to keep his family safe by leaving them.

The anime wasn't clear in this scene, but Sensei was crying back then...

Sure Mikado's mom has the special power of repelling evil energy that is passed down to Mikado, but is it only that? Because in vol. 9 we saw when Mikado said that he'd always had a feeling that his father was protecting him, even though he never had any recollections of who his father was, to begin with. Could that 'bond' or protective power actually unknowingly be left behind by Sensei who back then, sacrificed his 'safety' out of love for his family? And so Mikado has the power from both of his parents? Which is why Mikado was the only one who was able to disperse Sensei's strong curse when (according to Mukae) even Hiyakawa couldn't?

And then, finally Hiyakawa, who is arguably the most tragic character out of all three in this topic that he'd never had the 'safe place' to return to until he found Mikado.

His power is pretty different from the other two as well, in which he could break the curse, put on the curse, and gobble the curse to energize himself.

In his case, before Mikado came along, Hanzawa had undoubtedly done good work in keeping Hiyakawa in check, that Hiyakawa didn't end up like Sensei or got himself entangled with the baddies. It wasn't until he learned about Erika and Sensei that he started entertaining the idea of putting curses in people for his own gain, an idea which was quickly let go after having Mikado lash out and give him cold shoulder. This means, he probably didn't even know that kind of evil deed was possible in the first place, thankfully. Remember that Hiyakawa doesn't have much understanding about which are bad and which are good, according to Hanzawa.

I was curious though, what happened to Hiyakawa after being saved by Hanzawa. Sure he was under Hanzawa's custody for I assume most of his time growing up. But it was never detailed or given the impression that he was raised by him and Saeko-san. It wasn't his responsibility to do so anyway. He probably lived in some kind of institution or orphanage until old enough to live by himself?

Nevertheless, Hiyakawa said that Hanzawa was really important to him, tho he wasn't his fate that would save him. Save him from what? I'm actually still not quite sure at this point. I assume it was saving him from his own hatred. That despite his laid-back way of living, he subconsciously still craves to avenge his abuse and what was ripped off him back then...or at least have some type of closure to it. We see this at one of his mini-breakdown later on. The panel when Hiyakawa screamed, "It's not fair, I never have power, have no money..." kinda tells me that no matter how detached he seemed about his past, he still couldn't let go of it.

At this point, Hiyakawa is like the young Sensei back then at the brink of being corrupted after leaving his wife. In which, in a similar fashion, triggered by the twisted belief that their only 'safe place' was no longer theirs.

(Cursing himself so that he didn't remember his family turned out to be another way of protecting them, as in this delirious state he couldn't curse them...in this case, he was protecting them from his own corrupt self, it was prolly sth he didn't foresee before.)

The trigger of his breakdown was also when he saw Mikado saved other people and not him and said "Why? I don't understand, maybe you're not my destiny..."

In the anime ep 8, we are again given the perspective through Hanzawa, Mikado, and Mukae's conversation that hinted all this time Mikado had hoped for his safe place to be Hiyakawa (aside from his mother), as he was the first person who understands him. Mikado also believed that everyone should have that safe place to return and the fact that Hiyakawa doesn't have any, is very sad. And being Mikado, of course he wanted to help.

However, this might be where Mikado slipped. In the anime ep 8, we get the short version of Hiyakawa declaring his safe place is indeed Mikado, yet his own term was destiny because again, that's the term he knows all this time. In the manga though, that scene wasn't the only occasion where Hiyakawa said Mikado was the most important person for him. Sure he threw around "you're my destiny" to Mikado at every single chance that Mikado simply didn't think much about it. But whenever Hiyakawa said "you're the most important person to me" then Mikado got flustered and then asked, "You mean it in a spiritual/professional way, right?" then Hiyakawa would say "is there any other way?" then Mikado would brush it off after.

What I assume by he 'missed the 1st sign from Hiyakawa' in this panel was that, he finally realized that was actually Hiyakawa's way all this time saying that Mikado was the only place he could return to because Hiyakawa's work equaled to his life, the only thing that kept him going and stayed in the (good side) of society. That he and Mikado were bound spiritually (that also let them do their job easily), which is why he thought Mikado already understood. So when Mikado chose to save another stranger and not him, reminded him again how his mother (that used to be his safe place) turned her back on him all those years ago.

After finally understanding this, we see the change of attitude in Mikado that he became more convinced and determined to be with Hiyakawa, driven by his acceptance that how they feel about and perceive each other are in fact, mutual.

potn anon again: part of me is curious about it because I feel like the themes are not as bad as I think they would be (I tend to imagine the worst scenarios possible).

also, I think the characters are pretty. (★ ω ★)

if I do pick it up, I'll probably read one chapter a week or so, just to gauge how I feel about it (and I'm very guilty of finishing something I don't like just because I started it. I often choose to not watch/read new things because I'm afraid of the commitment). Though I don't know when that's gonna happen; getting into new stuff in general is very difficult for me. Feels like a Major Life Decision™ every time.

Anyway, I'll stop rambling now. :D

I will say that its definitely........according to taste tbh. as someone who likes darker fiction, potn is downright sugary fluff to me. So I think if you're someone who does like darker fiction, potn won't be too bad. I think the hardest part about it that would generally disturb people is the steep power imbalance between Seungho and Nakyum and how that's constantly in play and results in some reeeeeeal dubious moments.

fully??? like I am so shallow when it comes to how pretty the art in a manga/hwa/hua is. if the art is pretty, I will usually give a work far more leeway than I would if I didn't like the art. Byeonduck is CRAZY talented. Their art is so incredibly clean and pretty and detailed.

seungho is......a hot slut. lemme tell you. that mans vibes??? rotted, nasty, moldy, WACK...but his look???? his bod??? immaculate.

and nakyum is just so darn adorable. and sometimes very funny?? actually they both can be kinda funny. I think what I like about potn is that there are some genuinely funny moments put in there as well and Byeonduck themselves seems pretty funny.

but yeah! if you ever do pick it up, feel free to come talk to me about it cuz no one in my circle wants to read it T_T

spoilers under the cut if you don't mind those but some of my thoughts on what I like or appreciate about the series and why it isn't all that dark for me, personally.

I think one thing that really lightens up the darker aspects and more dubious consent moments is how genuine Seungho's feelings seem for Nakyum. He struggles a lot with accepting and then expressing those feelings which leads to him doing some pretty.......fucked up stuff.

As for Nakyum (or...Na-kyum??? idk i've seen it done both ways) I think it can be difficult because he....clearly does not consent to some of their sexual interactions. He's manipulated and Seungho threatens and hurts him but I think Na-kyum is also miserable before he met Seungho as well. Which....isn't me saying anything about real life but I think the reason why I understand Nakyum's whole narrative is because he too is struggling with understanding his sexuality and his desires and while his relationship with Seungho is definitely.....fucked up at first, I think he eventually finds a lot of....acceptance? and a level of sexual freedom and eventually it seems like he gets the chance to feel desired and gets to face his sexual desires without feeling ashamed of them.

It just... Doesn't work for me 🤷‍♀️

Obviously, major spoilers under the cut.

I don't get the tone. One moment we're in an 80s music video and someone off camera is just straight up blasting Eurythmics (one of my favorite songs) on their phone in the background (was there no sound mixing on this movie?). The next moment we're supposed to be intrigued by the corporate machinations (which I don't think make sense unless you've read the book, which defeats the point of an adaptation). Then you're supposed to feel bad that their loving relationship question mark - is anybody buying these two as a couple at all/buying her as anything but a gold digger - is falling apart.

One scene, Gaga is grunting like a dying animal being jackhammered by a 40 yo playing a 20 yo virgin - do people even realize how young they're supposed to be at the beginning? 😂 They look older than my parents in those bad wigs and awful clothes. Another, she is an idiot listening to a medium. Yet another, she is dazzling these rich blowhards even though she has no leg to stand on while towards the end, after years of living with them, she comes off as an ignorant rube.

Maurizio is this subdued, semi-serious guy thrust into a world that he isn't really at home in. Patrizia is Lady Gaga in a wig. Paolo is an SNL sketch character that Lorne was smart enough not to put on TV, I'm pretty sure. It's like everyone shot their stuff separately and everyone was told they were in a different movie.

It's about five hours long, and yet the story feels very incomplete and superficial. Maurizio doesn't get the arc he is supposed to - he begins as far more competent and independent that is meant to be and ends far less changed that he supposed to, Patrizia is overexposed and underdeveloped, everyone else is cardboard cutout and the Gucci story is slipshod and scattered. It just doesn't satisfy me in any way.

Those are just the broad strokes, I'll happily get into the minutia, but I didn't want to blow my whole load at once and write a novel 😂

sb art + lore dump!

decided i'm gonna talk abt sb in my au!!!!

this doesn't rly contain major spoilers for th canon game, but i will still put it under a "keep reading" section just in case.

i hope you all enjoy it!!

first up, i made a poster for the sb arc of my au!!! i've made a few posters in the past but i don't think i posted any of them (and if anything i'll just be remaking them bc designs for characters have changed a bit. for example, since i changed william's design, chris, michael, mk, and vannie are all gonna be changed), so here's what my style of posters looks like!!!!

i personally just rly like making posters when i feel the urge to bc they're so much fun (even though this one was a bitch to do bc of so many designs and characters and colors. and i improvised the glamrocks bc i hadnt thought of official au designs for them at that point), and while there are mistakes here and there, imo it doesn't rly change the poster much at all, and i still love the overall result!!!

next up, here's a sketch of my finalized glamrock designs along w some hcs for them!!!

- the glamrocks are basically the funtimes 2.0. originally, the funtimes actually weren't murderbots and william added that stuff in after he discovered remnant, but things didnt work out to well bc of baby and the fact that he had to do everything manually. with newer technology of the glamrocks, everything could be programmed into them with no manual controls needed!!! - expanding on the murderglams; - roxy will usually be the one who picks a target and choose a good time to have them be killed. - chica will then recognize voice patterns and use them to lure the person (hopefully a child - in their case bc i ofc dont advocate for actual fucking child murder /srs) to an isolated area. - monty will then use his claws and teeth to quickly kill them and prepare the remnant for collection (it's a whole other process i'm not gonna get into). - freddy then takes the final step by collecting the remnant, and the body if needed, and delivering it to william + the cult. - the glamrocks are actually sentient and were built off of mk's blueprints to assure that. they all have prebuilt personalities though and are not built to be actual people like mk was. they only have the look and sentience of humans to "relate more to people" in a way. the do still have animal characteristics to keep the theme of animal mascots.

and one final thing before i get into general hcs: vanny the bunny is now glitchtrap the bunny!!!

with henry's forced assistance, he and william created an illusion that would allow william to wander free and do what he wants without being suspected. they created an illusion disk to help make the illusion in the first place because none of them wanted to spend months on making a fabric costume (also please note that illusion disks until this point did not exist in my au, so they are not a component in sl).

pros: allows william an adequate disguise and the disk itself can emmit high frequency soundwaves to help stun and shock victims near a 20 ft radius. cons: the disk will run out of power after a few hours, and it will need to be recharged. the soundwaves will become weaker and weaker as the power runs out and the illusion will begin to glitch out, hence the name glitchtrap (as well as vannie calling him that the first few weeks they shared a body)

now for some general hcs!

- gregory is not the main character (he does appear in this au though. just not in act 3). instead, our familiar yet unknown protagonist, sammy, will be the main character along with charley, hope, and her bf gavin (hehe i finally got something for him xddd) - each of the glamrocks are semi controlled by a different cult member, with william overseeing all of them; vannie takes freddy, john takes chica, alex takes monty, and ryan takes roxy - the arc begins with the modern misfits (which is what i decided to call the group of sammy, char, hope, & gavin) visiting the new fazbear location (the pizzaplex) just for shits and giggles. they actually end up liking the place and fall asleep in a plushie storage room. they then wake up and realize that "oh shit we're stuck in the building now. how tf do we get out". they eventually find themselves all being hunted by the glamrocks as basically free remnant (except for sammy because ooo he's importaaant) - unfortunately, the arc ends with sammy being taken by the cult and char gets shot in the arm. annabeth (security girl) takes the remaining members of the misfits and takes them home (she can't really do anything about it because she kinda works for the cult by force now)

i do have a few more hcs, but i feel like i need to flesh them out more before i talk abt them. plus this post is already p long, so that's all for now!!! i hope you guys like these, and stay tuned for more hcs and art hopefully soon!
