ARABELLA → e. hewson
Tumblr media
pairing — elijah hewson x famous!fem!reader
summary —every popular man needs an even more popular girlfriend and rn that's you babe xx
written for this request
wraps her lips round the mexican coke, makes you wish that you were the bottle
Tumblr media
you're such a fan fav.
like whenever you're at inhaler gigs they're almost more excited to take pictures with you than with the band
if you work in the limelight as well (singer, model, actress, etc) his fanbase is your fanbase.
pictures of you and elijah (and just you) are very common profile pics for inhaler twt and tiktok
he's very aware that he's the arm candy in the relationship
he can't complain tho, he gets it
obsessed bf, pretty gf dynamic
goes without saying that you've got more than a few songs written about you
if you're irish (self projecting) you would be freaking out with him and the lads over them playing in slane (and for opening hslot ofc)
in famous!reader headcanons i always see "his insta is a fanpage for you" and i raise you one, your insta is a fanpage for HIM!!
litch whenever an album drops, it's on the story and in a post. they announced tour dates? posted. they're opening for someone? posted. they fall asleep on your couch after a show? posted. you see a cute fan edit? saved, commented, and posted.
you're visibly down bad for him
BUT DONT WORRY hes visibly down bad for you too
if you're a singer, people are getting videos of him with the biggest heart eyes chilling in the vip section
if you're an actress, pictures of him staring at you on the red carpet or during interviews haunt the rockstar gf pinterest girlies
if you're a model you better believe that there has never been a show of yours when everyone can see him smiling in the front row
your little fanboy <3
forehead kisses for the win!!!
AND AND AND!!!!!! a hand on the small of your back at all times
definitely does the thumb thing when you're holding hands
he follows the sidewalk rule like it's a law
tells u abt the time he got abducted by aliens to help u sleep xx
he doesn't really fuck with spooning but will always rest easier if your head is on his chest and his arm is around you
i feel like if you're a very excitable person (self projecting again) he's such a listener
like you could be rambling about the most random thing in the world, and he'll just sit there nodding with a cute little smile on his face
he'd be great to gossip with, i think, but that might just be the irish in him
it's pretty much mandatory that you get on well with the rest of the bad bcs if you're not busy yourself, eli is dragging you on tour with them
if you were in the industry longer than them i feel like you'd all have some really good chats
like giving them advice on how to deal with anxiety and helping them through any doubts or fears they have
they all appreciate having you around even if ye take the piss out of each other 24/7
it's loving banter <3
you'd get mentioned in interviews a few times
never by name tho
because eli's so private and doesn't want to end up with the bands success being attributed to you he'd never be like "oh, y/n said this, y/n said that"
instead he'd be like "oh, yeah my girlfriend's been here before so she's been telling us where to go and all"
if the others ever brought you up it'd be to take the piss out of eli
"yeah his girlfriend had to drag him out the bus this morning" "he wouldn't shut up till we brought his girlfriend over" stuff like that
you and eli would have some proper deep chats i feel
he trusts you so much
each others ride or dies fr
fans hope you get married
he does too
overall, any comment section under a pic of the two of you is filled with people crediting ye for their bisexuality xx

Pairing: rockstar!joel miller x actress!reader
Author’s note: now what the fuck do y’all know about a Texas Trash Pie
Summary: An almost perfect Texas day with the Millers [2.3k]
Warnings: pregnancy, talks of body image, Hank Miller being the original Shit Stirrer, June your Texas is showing
Tumblr media
You love your husband. You really do. However, sometimes you question his choices, like taking the entire family down to Texas before the twins are born. Hank and Lucia are more than happy to see their grandkids, but you're twenty weeks pregnant with the girls and absolutely exhausted. Ethan, Sarah, Ellie, and Dina try to get you out of the house to go to H-E-B with them, one of their favorite things to do when they're in Texas, but you're so sick, you can't even stomach the thought of a car ride. Tommy and Maria, who's also pregnant, are there too, so they can help with Sam. Lucia is also a great help, practically bossing her oldest son around to help you. Not that he needs it, he's always been so supportive, but it's fun to watch their dynamic.
It also doesn't help that Texas is experiencing a record-breaking heatwave while you're there. You can normally withstand heat after so many years in California, but Texas heat is just different, and the extra weight pulling you down makes it ten times worse. The joys of pregnancy, right? Thankfully, the Miller men (and Ellie) help clean and set up the in-ground pool Hank put in a few years ago so you guys can have a family pool day.
Sam gets slathered in sunscreen, a big floppy hat, a sun shirt, and floaties before Tommy throws him in the pool, the little boy screeching with joy the whole way in. Sarah sits poolside with a book, cheering her husband on while he, Ellie, and Dina throw a football around in the water. Hank grills while Lucia fusses over you and Maria, making sure each of you is comfortable and drinking enough water. And Joel, dear, sweet Joel, is baking for you.
When you guys got married, Lucia made you what is affectionately known as a Texas Trash Pie. It has chocolate chips, coconut shavings, pecans, pretzels, graham crackers, and probably an ungodly amount of butter in it. Hank's grandmother passed down the recipe when they got married, so she wanted to make it for you guys. It was amazing, perfect, and so Texas that it fit right into your little wedding. With two grown kids and a toddler, you almost forgot about the gooey monstrosity until you returned to Austin. In the few days you've been here, you've been craving it nonstop, and Joel finally decided to make it for you. Lucia tried to help him, but he pushed her out of the kitchen, ordering her to relax so he could make something for his wife.
So, that's how you end up watching Joel through the windows of his parent's house, making sure he doesn't burn anything down. The girls kick at you and each other incessantly, and you have to push a hand into the side where Baby B lives to get her to calm down. "Would you leave your sister alone, you psycho?" You say, looking down. The big hat Joel forced on your head casts a shadow over your bump, but you're still able to make out a little foot pressing against your skin in protest. Maria catches the movement, too, and makes a shocked noise from next to you, and you laugh.
"Oh, my God, do they always do that?"
"Yes! I swear, they're always kicking at each other like they're trying to find more room." You say as Lucia walks over and pulls up a chair to sit between you and Maria.
"How're my two lovelies doing?" She asks, resting a hand on each of your bellies. "Or, I guess, there's five of you if we're counting these lovelies." One of the babies kicks at Lucia's hand, and she laughs. "Well, aren't you just a little troublemaker?"
"You have no idea. This one," you say, moving her hand to where Baby B likes to hang out. "Is only awake when this one," you move her hand again to where A is. "Is asleep. It feels like they only both fall asleep when I'm working or we're driving."
"That's what she's doing too! She gets antsy if I'm sitting for too long." Maria chimes in, and Lucia shakes her head.
"The boys were like that too. Now, Joel," she says, looking at you. "Joel was quiet a lot of the time, but if he heard music, forget about it. He'd be up for hours. And Tommy," she looks at Maria. "Tommy would only fall asleep if he was listening to music. Nearly drove Hank crazy."
"He still can't sleep without something playing in the room," Maria says, and you laugh.
"Miller men are resistant to change. I'm convinced they've got stubbornness in their blood at this point. I barely got Hank to change his soap after he'd been usin' the same one for thirty-five years. Turns out, it was irritating his skin, but he thought it was exfoliating." Lucia says.
"You talkin' bout me?!" Hank calls from his place at the grill, and Lucia shakes her head.
"You're hearin' things!" She yells, and he points his spatula at you and Maria.
"You girls see how she treats me? Y'all are gonna have to call Elder Protective Services on her."
"I thought you were forty-five, Grandpa," Ellie says mischievously from the pool, and Hank laughs loudly.
"Shit, that's why you're my favorite!"
"Hey!" Sarah shouts, suddenly looking up from her book, and Hank throws his arms up in defeat.
"Oh, now you're listenin'?"
"When you're talkin' shit, I am!" She says, a twang peeking through her words. Hank and Lucia laugh, but Joel steps out of the house as the words leave her mouth, and he gives her a look.
"Sarah Beth Miller, I know I didn't just hear you talkin' to your grandfather like that."
"Grandpa started it!"
"Would ya leave the girl alone, Joel?" Hank teases from the grill, and Joel's jaw drops, making you laugh.
"I'm a grown man, and if I curse in front of you or Mama, I still get read the riot act."
"Me too!" Tommy argues from the pool.
"Well, you two ain't our grandkids."
"That's right," Lucia says, and Joel shakes his head, smiling, as he walks over to you. He leans over your chair and kisses you, bumping your hat in the process, and you smile.
"Ew!" Ellie yells, and Joel flips her off, still kissing you. He scoots to sit next to you, grabbing your hand as he stares at you. Lucia and Maria start talking about something else, giving you two some semblance of privacy, and you send her mental gratitude for it.
"My pie in the oven?" You ask, and he laughs as he kisses your knuckles.
"Yes, ma'am. Should be ready soon."
"Good because the girls are getting impatient."
"Are they now?" He asks, and you nod. He presses the back of his hand to your cheek and furrows his brows. "You're burnin' up, babe. Why don't you get in the pool?"
"Well, here's the problem with that," you start, and his eyes twinkle with amusement. You blame the pregnancy hormones, but you just want to squish his face. He's so goddamn cute. "There are two babies in here, making me huge, and if I get in the pool, I won't be able to get out."
"You ain't huge."
"Well, I feel like I've got a basketball attached to my body at all times, and that's not small." You say. You are about to launch into a tirade about it, but he kisses you before you can continue. He tastes sweet and a little bit salty, the Texas heat making him sweat, and you can't stop the smile from spreading across your face.
"If I get in the pool with you, will you get in?" He asks quietly, and you take a deep breath.
"Pie's almost ready?"
"Nearly there."
"And you'll help me get out if I get stuck?"
"Always."
"And you'll still think I look good in a bikini even though I'm five months pregnant with twins?"
"I think you look good all the time." He charms you, and you roll your eyes. Finally, he helps you stand from your pool chair, and you pull his purple Red Hot Chili Peppers shirt off, revealing the black swimsuit underneath. Joel wolf whistles when you turn around to hang the shirt on the back of your chair, and you slap his arm. Still, he holds your hand and helps you step down into the pool's cool water. The water helps take some pressure off your hips, and you have to try hard to avoid thinking that you're pretty much a human submarine for your twins. Still, you sigh in relief as you stand in the pool, a satisfied smirk on Joel's face. "Feel better?"
"A little bit."
"Mama!" Sam yells from the other side of the pool, and you and Joel both turn to look. "Watch what Ethan and I can do!" Ethan hauls Sam onto his broad shoulders without any further warning, and Ellie ducks underwater so Dina can sit on her shoulders. Then, the four of them get into the most dramatic, over-the-top game of chicken you've ever seen in your life. Ellie and Ethan splash at each other blindly while Sam giggles as he holds Dina's hands. Eventually, Ellie tips back and takes Dina down so Sam and Ethan can win. Everyone cheers on Sam and Ethan, including Ellie and Dina, who are good sports about losing. Sam stays on Ethan's shoulders and starts pretending to be a pirate, and you turn back to Joel with a big smile.
"Our kids are pretty cool." You say, and he nods as you wrap your arms around his shoulders.
"Yeah," he puts his hand on your bump. "You think these two will be just as cool?"
"I think these two are gonna give us a run for our money."
"Yeah?"
"Oh, yeah. They've been battling it out with each other all day." You say, and he makes a face as he pauses, waiting to feel movement.
"Seem pretty quiet to me. Maybe they just like me better." He snarks, and you give him a look. He laughs and pulls you close, kissing your forehead, but you try to push him away.
"Oh, Joel Miller knows everything about this pregnancy! Excuse me, Mister Professor!" You exaggerate as you try to swim away from Joel, but he catches you and pulls you back. You smile when he pouts and ducks his head to kiss your jaw.
"I was just kiddin'. I'm sorry." He mumbles, and you laugh, shaking your head.
"You're fine, Miller." You say. He wraps his arms around your waist, and you turn in his arms, his chest to your back, so you can watch the kids splash around together. The sun is high in the cloudless blue sky, and from here, you can see the acres of the Miller ranch, the stables not too far from the house. Barbeque and chlorine hang in the air as a perfect ode to summer, and you smile as you watch Sam jump in the water to the cheers of his adult siblings and their partners. Joel hums as he rests his chin on your shoulder and traces patterns into your skin.
"D'you ever think we'd be here? Married with five kids?" He asks, and you shake your head, giggling to yourself.
"No," you admit, and he laughs. "But, now that it's here..." You try to come up with the words to explain what your family means to you. How they've changed your life, your career, everything. Except, you can't. You'll spend the rest of your sunshine, kid-filled days trying to describe what this means to you. You could cover every mile of the earth, see every wonder the world has to offer you, meet people from different walks of life, and still never be able to explain why watching Ellie carry Sam through the water tugs at your soul the way it does. Or why seeing Sarah and Ethan relax into each other by the pool makes you want to cry. Or why you look at Hank and Lucia, almost fifty years into their marriage, and see hope and unconditional love and a glimmer of you and Joel. He seems to understand, nodding against your shoulder.
"Yeah," he says as he kisses your cheek. "Me too." You turn to kiss him again, but Hank emerges from the house with a blaring phone, pulling your attention.
"Joel, your phone won't stop goin' off. Now, you know I'm not good with all that tech stuff, so here ya go." Hank says as he hands the phone to Joel. He stares at it, confused like he can't figure out why his alarm is going off before his eyes widen, and he pulls himself out of the water.
"The pie!" He yells as Tommy steps out of the house with a beer. He seems to realize what's happening at the same time Lucia does and quickly turns on his heels to go back into the house. Seconds later, you hear the smoke alarm go off. You laugh and, with Ethan's help, get out of the pool and pad inside. You follow Joel's wet footprints through the house and into the kitchen, where Tommy stands with the burnt pie in his oven-mitt-clad hand. He looks at you, down at the pie, back at you, before looking at Joel, and you can almost hear the thought before he says it.
"Can you just not pull anything out on time or..." He says, and Lucia smacks the back of his head before he can even finish the sentence.
"¡No digas mierda así!"
"¡Pero Mama es verdad! Mira, mira, mira-"
"¡Ay, no! Help your brother!" She yells as she leaves the kitchen. "And help him make a new pie!"

hi! i’m new around here so just want to ask what are some of your fav thoughts/headcanons for any of your fav characters/ships?
Oh, I'm just going to go through my top.3 pairings atm, some thoughts, dynamics and headcanons for each so this will be very long 😅
Wandanat
They are my absolute favorite, my first pairing to read and write about so I'm not letting them go for awhile.
Bratty Nat and Daddy Wanda is honestly perfect and daddy Wanda is severely underrated, I also think that daddy wanda is even darker than mommy Wanda. Also every Nat era is some level brat
Wandas punishments are very extreme, they can go from a no touch rule to a spanking to kneeling on rice and bladder control (which is a punishment because Wanda just won't let her go no matter what)
Celebrity aus, every part of them. Rockstar Wanda/Gf Nat, how into exhibitionism they are and how Wandas' concerts are borderline fuck fests. Director Wanda/Actress Nat, Wanda extorting Nat, private meetings meant to intimidate and make all the more obsessed
They are soulmates
2. Maxilova
They are severally underappreciated and need more attention, there's just so much potential.
Ghostface Yelena/Mommy Wanda, Yelena being absolutely obsessed with Wanda and doing everything for her, and killing anyone that comes close to her.
Ghost Wanda/Socialite Yelena, Wanda just being stuck in the house Yelena resides in, Yelena being the only one able to see her which starts a tentative relationship
Milf Wanda/Bf Yelena, Wanda is just so soft and caring, and Yelena is in desperate need of that, they just need someone to take care of them, and bring them back from his constant highs, because he always crashes immediately after
Wanda with her soft tummy that Yelena loves to rest and nom on
3. Wandakate
Mommy Issues/need to be mommy issues
Kate is easily manipulated which is something that Wanda easily takes advantage of, just conditioning Kate to be her perfect pet
Kate being kind of a feral animal, she isn't easily contained and will jump off anything, she's also a biter

Omg I‘d love a WIPs list. What I enjoy is waiting for a chapter and connecting with the author during their process of writing. I’d love to see what you’d recommend
I love that too! Waiting can be so excruciating but also thrilling! And every time a new chapter drops it feels like a present 🥺
ANYWAY, my hellcheer wips list (currently reading + tbr)
Currently reading:
Teen Beat (at this point if you're my mutual you know how utterly obsessed I am with this fic, I've talked about it here), Tenderness (mentioned here), and The Street Of Philadelphia (mentioned here).
Poison: something different, may not be everyone's cup of tea: waitress!chrissy x retired rockstar!eddie, BDSM dynamic. The author warns in the tag that both C&E are "a little ooc" and yeah I do agree, they may feel a little ooc sometimes, but I really love the writing style, I love how they're interacting so far and I absolutely adore this really stressed \ a little lost Chrissy, she feels so real. Also, this is entirely from Chrissy's pov which I think it's intriguing because Eddie's a very mysterious figure here.
Reality and other highs: an absolute gem, I have the highest expectation for this fic because I loved the first chapter soo much. 12/10 the cutest idiots in love I've read so far.
I love the way I light up when you call me: everyday I check for an update because I love this concept so much: bodyguard!Eddie x Actress!Chrissy. I'm a sucker for this trope! Also, I love the idea of Laura Cunningham being an oppressive momager, it fits the canon chrissy\laura dynamics so well.
And we run with a lonely heart, and we run for this killing love... Rockstar!Eddie x Singer!Chrissy who just joined Corroded Coffin because their manager thinks adding a sexy vocalist could help the band to stay relevant... Of course, there's only one rule: don't fuck it up (namely, don't fuck!!). This is giving me all the Fleetwood Mac vibes I crave. Featuring a delicious piano oral sex scene. 10/10 I want more.
Dancing With Danger: we all love cute dork Eddie, right? Exactly, but sometime we may want to read a different take on him (but dw he's still 100% a good boy), and this fic is a perfect example. Also, the tags promise a satanic panic, Eddie wrongly accused of murder, and a corruption kink. 10/10 I have high expectations.
Light My Fire: this fic is making me lose my mind. It hasn't been updated since July and I am DYING because it features one of my favorite tropes ever: (almost) step-family AU. Chrissy's father died and Laura married Wayne (to everyone's surprise, so it's still kind of a mystery why they married and I am so intrigued!!), E&C are forced to live together and that sucks because Eddie has a massive crush and Chrissy apparently isn't exactly indifferent either but now they're family so it's a fucking mess (and I love this kind of drama!!!!). Also features adorable Eddie\Chrissy's little brother interactions. Let's manifest an update soon. UPDATE: IT WORKED A NEW CHAP DROPPED GO READ THIS ONE NOW!!
I Was Made For Lovin' You: the first eddissy fic that I read back in June 🥺 and sadly it hasn't been updated since. The first chapter was so good (and 10k long!).
TBR list (I've just realized I have too many fics on my TBR so I'll just post a few and I'll do a new list later)
swan song: "You know birds have hollow bones?” She says quietly into the thick air. “If I had hollow bones, I would fly away from here." Love the title, love the birds reference\metaphor, it seems very promising.
i wanna know what love is: Chrissy is married here. Love a good infedelity\ cheating trope!! let'ss go.
Class of '90, Come and Find Me: I am a sucker for college!AU so here we are.
This Office-Like fic by @eddiemoonson that's not out yet but I've read a snippet and I am so ready!!
The pacific Rim AU (that I can't find rn but I have it saved somewhere, I'm gonna include a link it once I find it): because I absolutely love Pacific Rim and drift concept.

true, power dynamic is mostly the problem at work or schools but also like if you're someone non-famous getting sucked into that world because you're dating someone famous, it'd be different in the sense that somewhere deep down you know, they have so many options, so many better options and you would do anything to keep them from leaving you. sure, your partner might love and cherish you infinitely, and they may never take advantage of the power dynamic. but it's still there.
I agree they’d have many more options. I don’t know if I agree that the options would be better. Sure, Matty could date….idk I’m tryna find a celebrity that would make sense for him. Emma Stone (making it up for example). He could date Emma Stone. But Emma Stone isn’t better than (non famous girlie). She’s richer. She’s more well known. Better? No. Human beings are equal in value. Especially romantic value. You enter a relationship with someone because you like them/ love them. Not because they’re an actress who has starred in X, y, z or whatever. You know what I mean?
And that’s the REAL issue with Matty “dating” these girlies. Like if he were 40 (Omg yum) and they were 30, that’d be much more okay than now. So it’s not MERELY the number of years. It’s the maturity. Cuz a 30 year old is much more likely to understand the scope and handle the emotional change that comes with dating a Matty Healy. Your brain doesn’t even finish cooking until you’re 25 though. So, if these women are 22 or whatever, literally their brain is still developing. They’re not as secure or experienced. So even though they COULD still date matty, it’s not a chill situation. You know? Are there 22-24 year olds who can handle it? Probably year. But those are super rare. To find a 22-24 who is SO MATURE beyond her years that she’s unfazed by the madness. Maybe he’s just thinking he’ll keep trying until she comes along? Somehow i doubt that lol.
But, that’s why I say it’s not necessarily that there is a power dynamic inherent in the age gap, it’s just that the particular maturity levels on both sides are rather crummy lmao. So I’m usually very careful about immediately condemning a relationship based on age gap alone (obviously unless a minor is involved). I’m usually like “ok who are the people involved.”
In this case it’s horny manchild rockstar and a lineup of young ladies he’s rotates through. Not chill.

You’ll always be the answer
Pairing: Charlie Gillespie x Fem Reader
Requested: YES💚
Summary: For the first time Charlie and Y/N have to do an interview together and things get pretty interesting and chaotic as always with the couple.
*In the wired autocomplete section the part of the question that was covered will be in bold*
Pretty much based in the we say we’re friends world, (yes, again😤 I love their dynamic I’m sorry) you only need to know that Y/N is a musician by profession, wrote the JATP soundtrack, a childhood friend of Charlie and now his current girlfriend.
Tumblr media
The couple is completely excited because today they have their first interviews after the confirmation of the second season of Julie and The Phantoms, and usually they are not on the same interview team so this is new. Charlie always does them with the band and the singer usually does them with director Kenny Ortega representing the people behind the scenes.
“Hello everyone, I’m Charlie Gillespie and I play Luke in Julie And The Phantoms.”
“And I’m Y/N Y/L and I play Daniela in Stardust.”
“Baby, you are here today as the songwriter of the album.”
“I know?” She thinks for a few seconds until she realizes what she said. “Oh. Well, this is embarrasing. Make my selfpromo accident worthwhile and watch Stardust after watching JATP!”
“Nice safe, beautiful. Pretty natural.” Her boyfriend teases as she smiles proudly.
“I like to believe I could be an actress.” Charlie begins to laugh at the seriousness with which she answered and looks at her, full of happiness. He loves that they can enjoy moments like this where their careers can go exactly on the same track.
They know that it will not always be this way so they should make the most of the experience.
“I’m excited to have you back, Y/N. And a pleasure to meet you Charlie. You both sure are full of amazing energy, I love it. Let’s start with the questions. Charlie, this is your first leading and in a fairly complete role, you acted, sang, danced and even wrote one of the songs, how was the experience?”
“Pure magic. They are all incredibly talented and so supportive of us, they worked so hard to unleash our full potential in an accelerated manner. They had a lot of patience with me in the dance part, they taught me to use my voice properly, they supported me in the change to electric guitar, it was simply a dream to work with every single person in the project.”
“Sounds amazing. Next question is for you, Y/N. Much has been said about the unreal chemistry between Julie and Luke. How was it for you as his girlfriend to have to witness it live? As I understand you were present throughout the recording."
"Oh man, it was awesome!" Charlie laughs at her pure response and the interviewer looks at her in disbelief.
"I'm Team Juke all the way. I know I may sound like a liar or something since I'm the girlfriend, but here's the thing.
I can't see my Char in Luke. Charlie is so good at bringing him to life that I can't believe that cool rockstar is my adorable goofball. It’s like Clark and Superman with the glasses thing. Beanie and electric guitar? Oh, hi Luke. You are so hot, wait... don’t tell Charlie I said that! Bandana and acoustic guitar? Hey baby, give me a kiss in the forehead and sing me to sleep.
What I was saying again? Oh, yeah. So... I see Juke and I’m soft, they are perfect for each other.”
“So you think Luke is hot, huh.” he pretends to be jealous and folds his arms.
“What can I say, I have a thing for rockstars, my legs melted during now or never."
He snorted a laugh. “Good to know.”
The interviewer cannot contain a laugh of her own.
"It's always a pleasure to have you here, Y/N. You are such a character and I always enjoy listening to you, and I love that even though the years go by and you are no longer so new in the industry you continue to have that fresh and iconic personality."
“Thank you so much Maria, If I can be myself here it is thanks to the beautiful atmosphere that your interviews always have.”
“My pleasure, ‘golden star’. Let’s continue. Y/N, We know you already knew Charlie, but who did you get along with better from the rest of the cast?”
“Oh my, definitely Owen. He was Charlie's roommate throughout the project so we hang out together a lot in our free time taking turns as third wheel. I'm pretty sure he's going to apply the same card to me this second season now that I'm gonna be the roommate.
But it’s okay, I totally deserve it. May the best third wheel win, Joyner!” Charlie grins and does a fistbump with his girlfriend who looks really hyped about going back to Canada with the band.
“I’m rooting for you, girl! Let’s go back to Charlie a little bit. The album that Y/N wrote is a resounding success and a very important piece for the series to be as brilliant as they are. I imagine that the four of you have a special affection for the album, but how do you feel that your girlfriend was the one who wrote a soundtrack of that level for such a special project in your career?”
Charlie looks so proud. He looks at her in a way that makes the young woman blush.
“I’m just so blessed that the things happened they way they did. She’s the love of my life, you know? I couldn't be more proud to sing her songs. She has always been insanely talented and nothing gives me more happiness that knowing she gets to do what she loves and is able to share it with the world.”
The singer's eyes water and she puts her head on the actor's shoulder, who kisses her hair sweetly.
“You two are so pure and so cute to watch, I have a new favorite celebrity couple.”
They continue the interview for a few more minutes and then they have to move on to the second section, in which they are handed some boards with the most searched questions on the internet regarding them.
“Okay guys, introduce yourselves again. I’m not going to be in the segment this time so you’ll have to help each other.”
Both agree without confessing that they have seen videos of this segment until 5 in the morning when they have nothing to do the next day and have sleepovers.
“Hi, we are Charlie Gillespie and Y/N Y/L and will be doing the wired-autocomplete interview today!”
“Okay handsome, let’s start with yours.” Charlie smiles and takes the sign in his hands, while his girlfriend removes the first tape and reveals the first question.
“Does Charlie Gillespie have a girlfriend?” Charlie smiles proudly and kisses his girls nose.
“I do, and she’s so adorable.” He touches gently her cheek and she closes her eyes at his touch.
He gives her a light kiss in the forehead and then uncovers the next question.
“What is Charlie Gillespie like in real life.”
“I’ll answer this one, Char’s a total goofball. He is cheerful, funny, always full of energy, talented, caring, and really, really hot. All done, next question!”
He laughs while blushing and reveals the next one. “Is Charlie Gillespie married?”
“Well I tried but someone ate the ring.”
“I would do it again, it was really good. Answering the question, he is not yet, but he is taking too long, maybe one of these days I will declare myself.”
He opens his eyes wide, he knows very well that his girlfriend is capable of doing it, and honestly he wants to be who does it, so he makes a mental note to prepare everything soon. Thank god he is working on the rings already.
“It’s Y/N still dating...”
“If the question says Ross Lynch I’m goin’ to lose it. No shade though, man.”
She laughs, after the James Larkin show, a lot of people showed anger as they felt that she was a much better match with the blonde, and Charlie couldn't help but feel a bit offended.
“...Charlie Gillespie! Yes, baby!” Both high five, Charlie looks almost relieved, is adorable.
“The answer is always yes folks, get use to it.”
“Who is Y/N’s best friend?”
“Well, this one is easy.” She turns to see Charlie and gives him a flirtatious little smile. He blushes and reaches out to kiss her, but she answers the question just before their lips touch.
“Ross Lynch.” She leans over and presses her lips against his for a few seconds as Charlie reacts to her response and then gapes in disbelief.
“You did nOT.” He laughs and and wrinkles his nose feigning annoyance.
“Yes I dID. But to be honest, has to be this man right here. Not a lot people know this but we’ve been best friends all our lives, so yeah. You baby, of course.” He blushes and kisses her hand, clearly happy with the answer.
“Is Y/N going to be in Julie And The Phantoms S2?”
“Will you?” He asks, genuinely curious. She never tells him what Kenny secretly confesses her about the project so as not to be unfair to the other members of the band.
“I will, but probably still back the scenes, guys. I'm really enjoying this part and learning from the best of the best so I am very happy not to be in front of the camera for now.”
“And you are doing an amazing work, love.” She grins and kisses his cheek.
“Thank you for watching us being ridiculously corny for 30 minutes, don't forget to watch Julie and the Phantoms Season 2 only on Netflix! I feel sorry for that poor people that will have to see how cheesy we are.”
“We were still recording Y/N, but never mind. The editing team has a lot of work ahead.”
“Well, damn. I’m sorry guys!” Charlie laughs for the thousandth time today. There is nothing better in life than sharing your days with your best friend. He can't wait to formalize that ‘forever’.
Thank you for reading✨

I would like Alex to date someone not only down to earth, cool and unproblematic ,but who is smart and successful of her own right. Also I would like him to be with someone who is not fame hungry and doesn’t look like a model.
Ah isn't that the dream lol
Yeah I'd genuinely love to see him be with someone who has their own career very well established I feel like that would balance the dynamic of dating a rockstar and make for a much healthier relationship? Not that I'd have any insight on the inner workings of Alex's relationships lmao
Honestly doubt Alex is going to date anyone who doesn't look like a model, he definitely has a specific type looks wise. He seems to like extroverts and outspoken, straightforward people though.
Wish there were a comedian or actress or writer who fit his type and was more popular than him who uses Instagram like a normal person lol then we could all finally get a break from this nonsense.

Captain Swan fanfic list
Whilst I am fairly new to this beautiful fandom and ship, as I just started watching in August, I have spent a shameful amount of time since then reading as much of the delightful fanfiction this world has to offer (there are some extremely talented writers obsessed with this show, we are blessed) and as such, I want to keep my favorites all in one place, as well as recommend these to anyone interested. I know most of these have been featured on many a list but alas, I feel they deserve all the recognition they can get.
I still have a very large bookmark folder of reading to go, so I may add to this. Also if anyone wants to recommend anything to me that’s not listed, that’d be fab

-- AU/CANON-DIVERGENCE MULTI-CHAPTER  --
Walking on Water by Ms Starlight (Rated M)-  Princess!Emma meets our beloved pirate Captain Killian Jones when his crew abducts her off one of her kingdom’s ships, interrupting her journey home from a diplomatic mission after attempting to seek aid for her kingdom during the Ogre Wars. Beautiful characterization, very interesting twists and manipulations on canon plot lines. This one is definitely a favorite.
Something like you love me by killians-dimples (Rated T) - Friends to Lovers  (because apparently I am absolute trash for this trope) and Fake!Dating. Emma and Killian have been best friends since college, and when Mary Margaret just doesn’t know when to quit pushing her towards Walsh, Killian offers to pretend to be her boyfriend for a trip home to get her mom off her back. Beautiful and heartbreaking at times, loved it.
Walking in a Straight Line by msgenevieve447 (Rated M) - Another Friends to Lovers.Emma and Killian share a few drinks and a kiss, but only one of them remembers. VERY well written, fun to read, and I loved her characterizations. Plus Killian is a lawyer, which suits him so well for some reason. A personal favorite. (Prequel and Sequel one-shots below!)
The Darling Affair by Ice_Cube44 (Rated T) - I LOVED this one. Devoured it in one sitting. Killian is ex-military and his path crosses SocialWorker!Emma’s when one of her charges is kidnapped by the Gold family, the very same Killian’s been trying to track down for years. The story is so compelling, the characterization is awesome (especially Killian, I don’t know why but I am borderline obsessed with this version), PLUS there’s Liam, so you get all the Brothers Jones glory. (Prequel one-shots linked below)
Crimson by qqueenofhades (Rated M) - Professor!Killian meets Emma when she starts taking his class. This one is a long, mysterious, awesome ride. A fascinating twist to the canon curse and our beloved pirate and wonderful writing and storytelling.
One Against the Wind by 4getfulimaginator (Rated T) - Set in the 1700′s, Emma is shipwrecked with a friend when they are rescued and brought aboard the Jolly Roger. This is a beautiful story, and one of the few that features awesome original characters. Heartbreaking and just wonderful.
Land Next to Me by swans-and-pirates (Rated T) - LieutenantDuckling. King’s Navy Hero Killian Jones meets Princess!Emma aboard the luxury spaceliner The Swan. When the unthinkable happens and they are forced to abandon ship, they end up stuck together on a mysterious planet. A sweet and compelling story with an awesome twist.
The Lost Boys by niniadepapa (Rated M) - Rockstar!Killian meets Actress!Emma. Their agents convince them to fake a relationship for the sake of their reputations. So much fun to read, and the cast of side characters are almost as fabulous as our dynamic duo.
Second Star to the Right by Rhianna-Aurora (Rated M) - Canon Divergence, Emma doesn’t leave Killian at the top of the beanstalk and lets him come back to Storybrooke. Well-written and lovely read.
Under the Horizon by romancered (Rated T) - Emma falls through a portal in Neverland and ends up three hundred years in the past, on the deck of the Jolly Roger, under the watch of a newly minted and grieving Captain Hook.
To The End by StrawberryFields4ever (Rated T) - The adventure through Neverland to find Henry takes a fascinating turn. Emma falls into an Alternate Cursed version of Storybrooke while Killian, Mary Margaret, David, Regina, and Rumple try to find Emma and Henry in Neverland.
Call it Love by Montana-Rosalie (Rated T) - Lieutenant Duckling. Princess!Emma and Killian are friends as children, before life drags them apart and brings them back together. ALL of Montana-Rosalie’s stories are worth reading, really. This one is sweet and sad at times, but a wonderful story.
All We’d Ever Need by Montana-Rosalie (Rated T) - Ballerina!Emma and Pianist!Killian are best friends, and find their lives crumbling on the same night. Fluffy, sweet, and angsty, but really beautifully written. Plus daddy!Killian always.
Written in the Stars by Montana-Rosalie (Rated T) -Last one, these three were my favorites of hers, but again, read all of them. Princess!Emma meets Blacksmith!Killian, and decides to fight for her true love. Angst abounds, but it’s so worth it in the end. Love love love.
The Path That Moonbeams Make by KnifeEdge (Rated T) - S2 Canon Divergence. Everyone’s favorite pirate climbs through Emma’s window after midnight, but not for the reasons you might think. Beautifully written.
The Secret of Drowning by momothelemur (Rated T) - S2 Canon Divergence. Emma and Killian fall through the portal and end up where they least expect. They have to learn to trust each other as they go on a wild journey through the realms to try and get home to Storybrooke.
* Incarcerus by qqueenofhades (Rated M) - Emma and Killian are vampires. I did not expect to love this one as much as I did, but it was so so fantastic. Their relationship is so unexpectedly sweet, and I loved the side characters just as much as I did CS. The story line is so well thought out and intriguing.
*The Lightbearers by qqueenofhades (Rated M) - This one made me so emotional so many times. Steampunk AU, Emma is a bounty hunter sent after the infamous sky pirate Killian Jones. There are so many twists and turns to this story, and I’m so in love with this author’s Will Scarlet.
*The Reason by xHookedonKillianx (Rated M) - Another friends to lovers and secret dating fic, this is one of my new favorites of that trope. The progression of their relationship is endearing and heartbreaking at times, and I love when a fic can make me love the relationships between the side characters as I am with CS. Bonus Liam Jones, whom I love dearly.
*Lethologica by lifeinahole (Rated M) - Friends to Lovers/Secret Dating. Looooved this one. Chef!Killian and Emma is in the military. So sweet and fun to read, and the twist towards the end made me emotional.
**Warm Nights and Firelight by Oubliette14 (Rated M) - Emma runs away from a messy breakup straight back home to her parents’ horse ranch. There she meets Killian, who works as a ranch hand for her father. This one is so loving and beautiful.
**The Trouble with Faking It by nowforruin (Rated M) - Killian is a Hollywood actor one mistake away from blowing his career. Emma is the down on her luck bail bonds woman that KJ’s manager finds, and makes her an offer she can’t refuse. FakeDating! but so sooo fantastically raw and heartbreaking.
**Wait For the Moonrise by lifeinahole (Rated E) - Enchanted Forest/Storybrooke AU with LieutenantDuckling. On the day Killian intends to propose to Princess!Emma, she disappears, swept up in a curse. He’ll do anything to find her.
**To Every Thing a Season by Ice_Cube44 (Rated T) - I’ve been waiting for this one to be finished for awhile and pounced the second it was done. Killian is a scientist at Storybrooke University, trying to crack the code to travel back in time to save Liam from being murdered. Emma’s his lab assistant who didn’t quite know what she was getting into. I knew I’d love this because I loved The Darling Affair, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. A wonderful knot of fluff and angst with a beautiful ending.
***Guilty, Your Honor by shipping-goggles (Rated M) - Emma starts a new job at a law firm and realizes her one-time thing from the night before has already come back to haunt her. The journey from horribly awkward to friends to lovers is a lovely thing.
***Headlights Fading by EvilIsntBorn337 (Rated K+) - When Emma Swan breaks down in the middle of nowhere, Maine, she finds help in the most unlikely of places, and by the time her car is ready to go, she has to decide if she is. Beautiful and sweet AU.
***If the Stars Align by twistedroses (Rated M) - This is a story world I loved and wasn’t quite ready for it to end. Emma is the Queen of France, and Killian is a loyal Musketeer who’d do anything for his queen. The stakes are high and angst abounds in this beautiful, unique twist on CS.
***Tripping Over the Blue Line by WelpThisIsHappening (Rated M) - Hockey AU. Killian is the Captain of the New York Rangers and Emma is the new Community Relations rep. Both of them have big plans and weren’t quite counting on the other to come along and change them. This is such a fun, wonderful world to spend time in even if you aren’t a sports fan (I’m not, but I still loved every minute of this fic) and I love her characterizations of Emma, Killian, and the whole crew.
***The PyeongChang Triple by WelpThisIsHappening  (Rated M) - The fun continues in the Olympics sequel to Blue Line.
***Out of the Frying Pan by WelpThisIsHappening (Rated M) - Celebrity Cooking AU. Emma’s trying to save her time slot for her show, and Killian wants to expand his restaurant - both of them need to win the All-Stars competition. Another fun story with completely immersive writing and a huge, lovable community.
***You Play Ball Like a Girl by WelpThisIsHappening (Rated M) - Emma has plans to take New York sports journalism by storm, so when she starts to fall for her editor, she realizes she’s got a big problem. This one is a little more angsty than her other stories, but I loved it all the same.
***Light of All Lights by Ripplestitchskein (Rated E) - Dark Swan and Deckhand Killian AU. While the depiction of Killian as weak and fearful is hard to swallow at first, this story has an awesome depiction of Emma as the Dark One, and Killian’s growth is really beautiful by the end. Rated E for a reason, folks, but the story and characterizations are fascinating.
(Now I have a hard and fast rule not to read fics that aren’t complete, as I have mourned the loss of too many abandoned fics, but this one and the next sort of snuck up on me, and I’m recommending them because they are absolutely worth reading despite being unfinished. (They are, however, still being updated and haven’t been abandoned, so I eagerly await the endings.)
***Beyond the Horizon by AlexandraLyman (Rated M) -WIP- Princess Emma’s ship is attacked by pirates, and Captain Jones brings her aboard. Slowly but surely, they fall in love, and Killian finds a bit of the good man inside that he lost along the way while he helps Emma reunite with her parents and save her kingdom. BEAUTIFUL writing. Really, all I can talk about is how gorgeous this one is.
***Alone, Until I Get Home by phthalo (Rated M) -WIP- S3 Canon-Divergence, where Emma stays in New York after the curse for seven years instead of one. Henry and his little brother Ian find the story book in Emma’s bug, and just like that, he remembers everything and leads his family back to Storybrooke. I’m a sucker for 3B pining and this one delivers. Ian is, quite possibly, my absolute favorite OC and I love this story so much.
-- ONE-SHOTS/SHORT MULTI-CHAPTER --
Round and Round by killians-dimples (Rated T) - Enchanted Forest. Princess!Emma and Killian are best friends, and Emma is trying to pretend that’s all she feels for him. So sweet, but also dark - warnings for assault - but definitely a good read.
Lend me some sugar, I am your neighbor  by killians-dimples (Rated M) - Friends to lovers, of course. Emma and Killian knew each other in school before she moved to a new foster home. They meet again as neighbors, and find their friendship evolving into something quite different.
Lonely Hearts Club by niniadepapa (Rated T) - A cute one-shot where Killian starts exchanging notes on a table at Granny’s with a mysterious woman, only to be thrown for a loop when he finds out who it is.
Heart’s a Mess by niniadepapa (Rated M) - Killian meets Emma when she becomes Milah’s new roommate. This one hurts, but in the best way.
Clouds in My Coffee by msgenevieve447 (Rated M) - One-Shot Sequel to Walking in a Straight Line. Fluffy sweetness.
Serendipity (or something like it) by msgenevieve447 (Rated K) - One-Shot prequel to Walking in a Straight Line, when Emma and Killian meet for the first time.
Freaky Friday by msgenevieve447 (Rated M) - another one, yes, just read everything she writes. Emma and Killian are accidentally put together in the same hotel room as roommates for a business convention.
the daylight seems so far away by VickyVicarious (Rated T) - Everyone has a tattoo on their wrist that tells them the age their soulmate will be when they finally meet. Emma thinks she’s broken, as her wrist says 232.
Bad Form by VickyVicarious (Rated T) - Lieutenant!Killian meets Thief!Emma one night by the docks. One-Shot.
Bag Over Head, Held at Gunpoint, Outnumbered, Drugged, Guilt, Grief, Panic Attack by icecubelotr44 - a collection of one-shots set in The Darling Affair universe. Mostly set before, and mostly Brothers Jones, but reading these is what made me want to read The Darling Affair, so definitely worth a read.
Theoretically by wtvoc (Rated E) - Friends to Lovers. Witty and unexpectedly sweet. Explicit for a reason BUT it has a really good story in between the smutty fun.
Oh, Brother... by the-captains-ayebrows (Rated T) - Fake!Dating with a twist - Liam and Emma are roommates, and Emma offers to pretend to be his girlfriend when his brother comes to town...but things quickly get complicated when sparks fly between Emma and Killian. Really fun to read, plus anything with the Brothers Jones is always a pleasure.
**Roger by Oubliette14 (Rated T) - Emma’s dog gets hit by a car, but when Killian, who works at the vet’s office, offers to pay for the emergency surgery to save the dog’s life. SO SWEET and nearly made me cry.
**Drag Me Down by seastarved (Rated T) - Just a little royals one-shot that might break your heart, but it’s so beautifully written, I kinda wish it was a multi-chap.
**Chasing Thursdays by nowforruin (Rated M) - Elsa and Emma open an ice cream shop in Storybrooke, Killian owns the tattoo parlor across the street. He comes in every Thursday for ice cream, and Emma doesn’t quite realize how much he’s gotten under her skin until the day he doesn’t.
**We Got Us by lifeinahole (Rated M) - Emma and Killian are happy and in love...but scared to let their friends and family in on it, lest they ruin what they’ve got with drama. A cute one-shot in which the entire Swan/Charming/Jones crew spend a beach vacation together, with CS trying to hide their relationship.
**My Eyes, They Speak For Me by lifeinahole (Rated M) - Canon-Divergence from New York City Serenade. Killian goes back to NY for Emma and she takes the potion, but when they go back to Storybrooke...it’s not there. They go back to New York and try to figure out how to get back to Emma’s family.
***Snowflakes and Starlight by AlexandraLyman (Rated K) - LieutenantDuckling sweetness with a dash of Brothers Jones, and I’m a sucker for both. Beautiful.
***Team Bonding by msgenevieve447 (Rated M) - After an accidental kiss during Laser Tag between coworkers, and Emma learning that not everything is as it seems. A sweet short multi-chap with some delightful pining.
***Where the Lovelight Gleams by icecubelotr44 (Rated K) - Christimas in the Darling Affair universe. This made me way too emotional, seriously. Emma’s facing her daughter’s first real Christmas without Killian without much enthusiasm when her husband has been MIA for months, but that changes when Liam delivers the best Christmas present of all.
***The Legend of Captain Killian Jones by HollyeLeigh (Rated M) - Killian Jones is cursed to haunt the halls of his family’s manor as a ghost, only regaining corporeal form once every hundred years as a chance to break his curse. He gets some help from an unlikely source. A fun supernatural read with an awesome twist on Killian’s story.
***Bird of Prey by Shoedonym (Rated M) - Swan Mythology AU. This is so beautiful and poetic and I can’t sing its praises enough. Killian visits the lake on the third full moon of spring even though the stories warn against it, and he comes to the conclusion that the line between fact and fairy tales is a lot more blurry than one might think.
***Two-Day Shipping by High-Seas-Swan (Rated T) - A sweet, fun little one-shot where Killian and Liam own a bait and tackle shop. Emma goes in looking for a chair, she doesn’t quite expect anything more.
***Not One of Those Stories by effulgentcolors (Rated M) - Killian is the town’s recluse, a loner, and when he hears that there’s a new sheriff coming to town, all he really wants is the chance to have a friend. I really loved this story, with the unique twist on an older Killian. Read the thing.
***Tim Finnegan’s Wake by icecubelotr44 (Rated T) - Emma’s a little annoyed with the music blasting from her neighbor’s apartment, so she’s all the more surprised at how concerned she is when it suddenly stops. A lovely amount of angst ensues.
*** CS 0155 Data Witchcraft by strangetales (Rated M) - An awesome and creative take on Emma & Killian’s love story with modern witchcraft sprinkled in. Loved this story.

Fanart of that one fanfic where Lenore is a chaotic flirty rockstar and Annabel is an Oscar-winning actress
Keep your eyes on me by kazooaa
I´ve been busy with hw but at this point, I´m chronically invested in drawing fanart of my favorite ships, and also fanfics. I love their dynamic, even tho they go super fast (as lesbians do), they´re two wholesome cutiepies.
Btw thanks to all of u for supporting my posts <3

idk if you've seen any of them but W magazine has some great celebrity interviews, they're pretty chill and fun. sometimes it'll feature two random celebs together and idk! the idea of rockstar!joel and actress!reader being cute in those types of interviews is ADORABLE to think about. like them in any interviews together is cute but specific ones like these i LIVE for. ( i adore this couple SO MUCH!!!)
https://youtu.be/2Hls8pQuLgM?si=lJ-tfeKAmZn156aU
here's a recent one for context lol
Omg yes i have seen those!!
I think they would work around rockstar!joel and actress!reader schedules SO HARD because they want to interview them together so bad and when it finally works out they’re like YES this is how I imagine it going (because I’m too lazy to write out a whole thing but I love this dynamic)
Interviewer: What was the first thing you ever booked?
Joel: I think it was a gig at a little dive bar back in Austin. I was probably… sixteen? Seventeen, maybe.
Reader: Did you get paid?
Joel: I think they gave us one free beer each and I promised to not tell my mom.
Reader: So, we’ll be getting a call from your mother the second this airs.
Joel: Probably.
Interviewer: What about you? What was your first gig?
Reader: I played Mary in a Nativity scene at school and I was most definitely not paid.
Joel: I didn’t know that!
Reader: Yes, you did! We talked about it during Sammy’s first Christmas.
Joel: Okay, that doesn’t count ‘cause we were sleep deprived.
Reader: Then, how come I remember it?
Joel: ‘Cause you’re a world better than me.
Reader: Mhm.
Interviewer: Who was your cinematic crush?
Joel: Jennifer Grey in Dirty Dancing. Without a doubt.
Reader: I had a crush on Russell Hammond in Almost Famous.
Joel: Really?!
Reader: Yeah! I don’t know what it was. I just think I liked the whole guitarist thing…
Joel: D’you just realize somethin’ bout yourself?
Reader: Maybe, just a little bit.
Interviewer: What’s your karaoke song?
Reader: Dancing Queen by ABBA because I can be bad but everyone will still be excited.
Joel: I don’t have one.
Reader: Yes, you do!
Joel: What is it?
Reader: Piano Man by Billy Joel. He has two drinks and he thinks he’s The piano man.
Joel: ‘Cause I am.
Reader: It’s that or something country like Johnny Cash or Loretta Lynn.
Joel: Oh, that is true.
Reader: And the kids hate it.
Joel: They pretend to hate it because I’m their dad and they refuse to admit I’m cool.
Interviewer: What movie always makes you cry?
Reader: Steel Magnolias.
Joel: The Beginning of the End.
Reader: Joel, you can’t say my movie!
Joel: Why not? It makes me cry.
Reader: Because… ethics or whatever.
Joel: Is it unethical to say I like my wife’s movies?
Reader: No, it’s just-
Joel: You just don’t like it when I compliment your work in public because it makes you blush.
Reader: That’s not true!
Joel: It is and it’s really cute even when you pretend like you hate it.
Reader: There are just so many other movies.
Joel: Not ones that my wife is in.
Reader: I’ve already decided to keep you. You don’t have to butter me up all the time.
Joel: Little extra love never hurt.
Interviewer: What are you secretly good at?
Reader: Joel’s a really good cook.
Joel: I’m an okay cook.
Reader: Stop. Don’t get modest on me now, cowboy. He made an amazing three course meal and dessert for our anniversary last year. All from scratch, too.
Joel: She is really good at fixing things around the house like the other day, Sophia put a hole in one of our walls and I didn’t even notice you fixed it.
Reader: Somebody’s gotta use all the tools in the garage.
Interviewer: Where was your first kiss?
Joel: Under the bleachers at a football game.
Reader: On stage for a high school production of The Music Man.
Joel: That had to be weird.
Reader: Oh, yeah. Half the entire theatre department was there. It was awful!
(This ended up being SO long but it was so fun and yes these questions ARE directly from the video suck my dick (lovingly))

Rock and Roll Me: On Andrea Riseborough's Spellbinding 2018 Performances
In a time of cultural noise, in which the loudest and most outspoken receive the most attention, Andrea Riseborough succeeds through nuance and restraint. Her spellbinding 2018 performances are the sublimest spectacles.
Because Riseborough speaks little in 2018 films like "The Death of Stalin," "Mandy" and "Nancy," character detail and directorial form become essential to the viewing experience, and how one interprets the performances. What would Robert De Niro’s Johnny Boy be without Martin Scorsese’s Caravaggian lighting and framing in 1973's "Mean Streets"? And how would Sissy Spacek’s "Carrie" performance hold up without Brian De Palma’s blood red production aesthetic? Riseborough, a 37-year-old English actress, elevates films by harmonizing with the director’s mise-en-scène, and by keeping the audience engaged.
For Armando Iannucci’s political satire "The Death of Stalin," Riseborough represents the grounding force; the mediator of ridiculous men. As Svetlana Stalina, she delivers a Charlie Chaplin-esque performance, speaking with her hands and reacting to contrived male machismo with calculated non-verbals. Alongside loud male performers like Steve Buscemi, Jason Isaacs, and Michael Palin, Riseborough punctuates dialogue with her slanted grins, numerous face palms and rhythmic movements within each comedic scenario.
Riseborough essentially functions as a frustrated middle child in "The Death of Stalin," a literal sister to the stooge Vasily (Rupert Friend) and a sister-in-spirit to the titular dictator’s proud comrades. In that sense, Iannucci often stages Riseborough in the background (understanding that she’ll deliver something), or to the side as comedic scenes play out for reactionary moments, many of which may not be noticeable until a second viewing. To complement the rapid-fire dialogue, Riseborough uses consistent body motion, primarily with her hands. She exerts nervous energy by repetitively pointing at people, and she then transfers that energy inward via repetitive face palms. Riseborough consistently inhales and exhales, delivering a definitely loud performance, albeit in a different manner than the male leads.
During each moment of situational comedy, Riseborough repeats the same physical routine; a set-up for the inevitable one-liner. And while she’s afforded some clever dialogue, it’s the rhythmic, non-verbal crescendos that underline Svetlana’s internal conflict. On one level, Riseborough’s nervous mannerisms—pointing, inhaling, exhaling, smiling—boost the situational comedy, but these collective moments ultimately set up one giant exhale for her character in the end, as she drops the lyrical routine entirely, in order to communicate Svetlana’s humanity and the danger that could possibly fall upon her. (Svetlana Stalina moved to the United States and passed away in Wisconsin at the age of 85.)
In Panos Cosmatos’ "Mandy," Riseborough relies on performative restraint in favor of the narrative structure and her character’s arc. On the surface, Mandy Bloom looks like one of the doomed female characters from the "Friday the 13th" franchise. And it’s no accident that she identifies her home as Crystal Lake. In terms of character, Mandy wears a Mötley Crüe t-shirt and discusses the cosmos with her lumberjack boyfriend Red, portrayed by Nicolas Cage —perhaps THE quintessential loud performer. But what’s special about this dynamic, for both the characters and performers, is that Cage matches Riseborough’s method during Mandy’s first half. Red clearly adores Mandy, and vice versa. Incidentally, character detail, chemistry and performative nuance mesh together to create a magical sense of camaraderie, along with looming danger.
To execute her performance as the ill-fated Mandy, Riseborough mutes the physical noise, a la Svetlana Stalina’s swirling hands and finger-pointing, to accentuate her natural features. Riseborough’s presence is fundamental to Mandy’s charm, most notably her large eyes and peering gaze. In an early sequence, Cosmatos presents a close-up of Mandy emerging from a lake, a shot that simultaneously establishes the character’s psychological effect on Red while informing the audience about a dark wave of energy. In a subsequent sequence, Riseborough breaks the fourth wall — a wink of the eye to the viewer — while telling Red a cryptic story about dead starlings, much like how she briefly breaks the fourth wall during one of "The Death of Stalin"’s liveliest sequences. In that film, her eye contact with the camera feels like an easter egg. In "Mandy," however, her direct gaze creates a more potent connection; a blurring of the line between character and performer. When fate catches up with Mandy, all of Riseborough’s small character tweaks come into play, as it’s not hard to see her face in the fire. It all adds up, it all comes together.
Riseborough often gets left out of "Mandy" discussions because her performance is so quiet and subdued. (I listened to a couple Blumhouse podcasts and the hosts barely acknowledge her role.) She speaks like a chilled-out Siri and glides like an angel on earth. Essentially, Riseborough pulls back the singular string on her bow during the majority of Mandy, and then shoots a sharpened arrow for one perfect shot, one defining moment. And that moment comes midway through when Mandy accepts her fate and unleashes a primal scream, thus destroying the flimsy ego of Linus Roache’s cult figure Jeremiah Sand. For Cosmatos, Riseborough must depart from the Mandy narrative in order for Cage to flip the switch, and her final seconds ensure that audiences won’t soon forget that laugh, those eyes, and the internalized pain that suddenly explodes into the cinematic universe—a giant FU to all the painfully un-self-aware men (and women) that Sand represents.
Riseborough provides one of cinema’s most rockstar 2018 moments in "Mandy," and she utilizes her full skill set to carry one of the year’s most underrated independent films, Christina Choe’s "Nancy"—a challenging and poignant character study about a female outcast who believes she might’ve been kidnapped as a child.
Like Mandy Bloom, Nancy Freeman speaks softly but radiates with energy. In this performance, Riseborough carries herself more like Wayne World’s Garth Algar than a care-free flower child. She balances nervous energy with overt smugness, suggesting that Nancy could either be a pathological liar or maybe just a woman struggling with depression. This time, Riseborough focuses on her character’s eyes and lips; when Nancy clearly deceives people early on, her eyes dart back and forth while her lips curl from side to side — not a quiver, per se, but rather a nervous character tick to suggest unease. Riseborough also slows down the narrative pace in "Nancy," as her character’s interpersonal experiences lead to highly awkward moments, much like the person who makes a perfectly normal statement in conversation but waits for a reaction. Based on Riseborough’s character interpretation, however, Nancy seems to be a self-aware individual.
Because Nancy comes across as a quiet outcast, Riseborough’s subtle character quirks have a jolting effect as the drama escalates. She adopts a regional, Fargo-like accent, all the while speaking from her throat and raising her shoulders during moments of tension. In some of Nancy’s early scenes, Riseborough’s body language suggests her character is confident in selling deception, even if her facial expressions betray her posture as a whole. In this role, Riseborough’s performance allows for various interpretations, as Nancy doesn’t have the public profile of Svetlana Stalina, nor does she have a a strong romantic connection like Mandy Bloom. Nancy must survive on her own, even if her potential birth mother and father are willing to lend a helping hand by offering love and a new life. In "The Death of Stalin," Svetlana Stalina wears her heart on her sleeve no matter what, and Mandy Bloom speaks the truth in all situations. Nancy, however, could be a distant cousin of Ryan Gosling’s "Drive" charactertough to read, ready to travel ... ready to run if need be. With Riseborough, one can never be sure which road she’ll take. As a result, the performative nuance and restraint makes her biggest moments so impactful.
In the future, Andrea Riseborough may evolve into one of cinema’s most iconic performers, one associated with high-profile mainstream roles and big Academy Award moments; she has that type of potential. For now, though, Riseborough remains one of the film industry’s most under-the-radar actresses, as she’s been in the game for over a decade but continues to rapidly evolve and challenge herself. If you’ve seen "Mandy," "Nancy," or "The Death of Stalin," you’re likely a Riseborough fan already. Or at least you should be.
