zoro kisses luffy always three times.

when they wake up, always intertwined in whatever place they fell asleep that night, zoro kisses luffy's forehead, cheek, and then lips. in that order, holding his face with both hands every time. it makes luffy wake up with a smile.

when he's training and luffy decides it's amusing to watch his boyfriend, zoro stops always three times to kiss luffy. three breaks with each set of exercises. forehead. head, if luffy isn't wearing the hat (if he is, then the cheek). and lips when he's done exercising.

when they're eating, zoro kisses luffy's free hand. then he kisses him on the shoulder. and lastly, on his head. his lips are busy eating, after all, but luffy smiles nevertheless and leans on his touch even if he's focused on the food.

when they win a fight, zoro kisses him three times exactly on the lips. softly. a bit harder. and then more passionately the third time. luffy always returns the kisses with more intensity, between laughs and giggles.

when luffy is the one sleeping after the fight, resting. he's exhausted, but he can somehow feel in his dreams how zoro moves his hair to the side to kiss his forehead. his hand. his wrist.

when they're making love, zoro always kisses the inside of luffy's right leg three times, making his way to his thighs. then does the same with the left one, and proceeds to kiss his scar. his neck. his shoulders. always three times.

luffy notices after some time together, but says nothing. instead, he tries to do the same. he kisses zoro's ear three times (one kiss per earring). he kisses his right hand, the left one, and then his lips (one kiss per sword). he kisses zoro's scar on his eye, the one on his chest, and the one on his shoulder (one kiss per every moment luffy wasn't there to fight with him).

"why are you doing this?" zoro asks one day out of the blue, after luffy finishes with his set of kisses.

the captain tilts his head to the side, frowning. "doing what?"

and the swordsman, for once, doesn't know what to say, so he stays quiet for a few seconds. "the- the thing. with the kisses. three kisses. why? that's a me thing. i do it because-"

"it calms you down!" luffy figures, and due to zoro's eyes, he assumes his hypothesis is right. the captain grins, squeezing his hand three times. "since you like doing it so much, i thought it would make you feel better if i did it too. does it work?"

zoro stares at him with a fond smile, one that he only is able to show when they're on their own. he squeezes luffy's hand back three times. "yes, captain."

...

it happens quick.

they don't see it coming. luffy should have been able to protect them.

and it's stupid, he thinks. it shouldn't hurt this way. he should be focusing on going back to his crew instead of this, but he feels uneasy. uncomfortable in his own skin.

he had only kissed zoro twice that day back at sabaody.

he has to go back to him, so he can kiss him four times. one to make up for the day they were separated, and three more, only because. only because he will be able to do it after two years. it will take two years to see each other again. two. he's starting to hate that number.

but then he thinks about zoro. zo-ro. two syllables. two o's. his second in command. his first mate. one, two, three.

he didn't exactly get why zoro likes counting so much. numbers are something luffy isn't fond of following much. but he thinks he gets it now.

one year. two years.

on the third one, he'll be able to see him. and luffy will kiss zoro one time, to make up for sabaody. and it will be the first kiss of endless sets of kisses coming in three.

and, weirdly enough, it calms him down too.

one thing that's really funny about interview with the vampire becoming pretty popular again is that I keep seeing people who've either only seen adaptations or only read the first book calling the gay part 'subtext'...girl in the next book lestat talks pretty plainly about how he was in love with louis. like romantically. he also had a boyfriend called nicolas in that book and they kiss on the lips and everything. in the third book the interviewer guy (whose name is daniel) gets with armand and they have weird vampire gay sex and everything. anne rice literally said that part of the lore for her books is that the vampirification process also makes you bisexual. I'm not fucking kidding. it was a lot of things but subtextual was not one of them

Haven’t posted in a hot sec and the brain rot never left, so how about some UX magic headcannons/theories (def leaning into HCs tho) with some evidence?

Before we get into the meat of this post, a quick disclaimer. I made this post with my own knowledge from playing the game (in 2020 and later) and the KHUX Wiki. I tried my best to check as much as I can but there’s just so much there’s no way every attack animation for every medal level was archived and watched by me. If I get something wrong let me know so I can make addendums.

And with that out of the way…

Have you ever noticed how flashy all the spells (and special attacks in general) in UX are? Like these kids are constantly throwing explosions and other big magical displays around. Almost all of them are akin to endgame spells in other games. Think Trinity Limit, or the BBS room clearer spells.

On top of that, from what it looks like on the KHUX Wiki, out of the levelled (-ra, -ga etc.) spells we see in other games, Cure is the only one that is stated to have different levels. The rest (Blizzard, Fire, Thunder, and Aero) are all in the “-ga” level, even on 1 star medals

So what point am I trying to make?

Well, all of this seems to point (to me at least) towards the fact that magic during this time was less controlled. And when you take into consideration the fact that it was very unlikely these kids were properly trained it kind of makes sense. It’s very likely that a lot of the magic here is figured out by the wielder themself or by another wielder who had figured it out and showed them how.

(Which is fun, since the longer the game was up the faster you got powerful spells, which in a way kinda makes it like you are learning the more impressive spells faster because other people had been wielders longer and had more time to figure things out)

The flashiness of everything can be explained by that too. I mean, they’re all kids after all. You mean to tell me that they’re not making everything as extra and explosive as possible to show off? Especially in the power centric place of Daybreak Town?

And if you’re thinking “well what about the other high level spells then? The ones in the other games”, I have an answer for you too. I was thrown a loop for a bit with that too because it doesn’t make much sense. Like even in Dark Road, in the same app, has the proper spell progression. But that got me thinking, what if the -ga versions of those 4 spells are the default and the “basic” versions of the spells are ones toned down for training.

Because when you think of it, we’ve never actually seen/played as a wielder who hasn’t had proper training, other than Player of course (and Roxas/Xion, who are exceptions, I’ll get to them). We’ve already touched on DR. The Wayfinder Trio are all trained by Eraqus, Vanitas by Xehanort. Sora is taught by Donald, Riku by Maleficent presumably (Dark Firaga is a tell for me). Roxas and Xion, while technically not being taught magic by anyone, already had some subconscious stuff from Sora.

So, you know, it’s possible.

i love that he's so candid about talking about his murders and says shit like "homicide is my hobby" but when it comes to shooting people he either says some bullshit like "blowing their brains out" or calling them "fireworks" or it's about date "watching them die." the only time he calls it "shooting" is when someone else is doing it. and normally that sort of thing reads as 'distancing yourself from the crimes' but wouldn't that be fucking wild lmao. i think it reads more like it's above just shooting? it's art! perfect, beautiful art of a lonely moment in time.

and all the "(you were) a murderer. a serial killer" "have you been using other men's names for so long that you've forgotten your own" talk feels like it should be leading into a "we're not so different you and i" but it never does. (i'd be tempted to say it's just self restraint on the part of the writing team but i find that VERY hard to believe given the. everything. about every uchi game.) like he hates date but he views himself as above him and he can't pull himself down to date's level, even to upset him. he's just taking hypocritical shots at date because he knows he cares about "justice" and "morality" and garbage like that, without acknowledging their similarities

I really wish we could go back to the days of actually acknowledging that ghosting is a shitty thing to do, and yeah sometimes maybe it happens, but you feel bad for doing it because you know it’s shitty, instead of this place we’re at now where gays are pretending they’re morally justified because “you don’t own anybody anything”. Like you don’t have to write 500-word essays on why you don’t wanna see someone anymore but a simple fucking “Not interested, sorry” text would do a whole lot better than keeping them waiting for inevitable disappointment.

This isn’t even about me, this is because I saw some shitheel on Twitter unironically post a handwritten letter he received (context is they live in the same building) after going on a date with a guy, expressing clear enjoyment in said-date, and even going as far as to schedule the next date, before ceasing all communications with the guy shortly after. The dude just wanted to know what was up, but instead of handling it like an adult, the dude instead decided to post the letter online being like “omg this dude is psychotic, please call 911 lol”, and then posted some of their private text messages shortly after.

Thankfully, it seemed like most of the responses were of people calling him on his shit instead of taking his side, but quite a few people were taking his side citing: “no response is a response” which while that’s completely devoid of empathy, immature, and just an overall shitty perspective to have, I can at least recognize that sure, unfortunately no response is in fact a response, but the issue here is that the dude actually gave a response AND SAID HE WANTED TO GO ON ANOTHER DATE! So that entire point is fucking irrelevant.

These are the people we’re talking about when we say the gay community is toxic as fuck. Everyone is so mindbogglingly selfish and self-serving. It’s all “me me me” about every god damned thing. I see these people post nonstop about how dating sucks or how everything is always just about sex, but they’re the reason that’s the case! It’s because assholes like them go through men left and right with zero empathy or acknowledgement that the man is actually a fucking human being with a life and feelings. They’re the center of the universe, it’s always about them.

Anyways, TL;DR: Quit being a child and learn to communicate your lack of interest in someone or die alone.

It's interesting what during last life run I was writing a lot of short stories in between the episodes, adding my spin to the story and characterizations. (Yeah, I definitely wrote desert duo angst. Though, mostly hurt/comfort.) But during double life I don't feel so drawn to writing those in-betweens.

I'm not sure what the reason is as I'm still as excited about every episode as before if not more. Hmm... Weird. (You know, in Grian's voice.)
