I watched the Arglefumph video about playtesting ND34 so you don't have to

What I think were the main takeaways with highlights bolded and time stamps if you want to see for yourself for the stuff where he elaborates some.

He did not edit the video that HeR posted on their account but he says the full footage was more like 30+ min

He can't reveal much than what HeR has already shared

Played for 6 hours and was told he was about halfway through the game BUT also notes that when he livestreamed his first play through of MID he was at about the halfway point of MID at 6-8 hours too

Does not have a release date or estimate. Just knows he was told sorta last minute he needed to post his video on 10/13/23 and he playtested in September. Threw off his schedule for scary game videos he was gonna do in October.

Thinks the opening is better than MID because MID started out with you in a dark room that you couldn't really see. This is an improvement.

Part Eight - ReUnited

Leaving you fast asleep in bed Millie was up and quietly packing, she’d booked flights home for you both separately from the team; they weren’t due to come back until tomorrow but she wanted to get you home as soon as possible. She called Rachel to let her know what had happened and that you were coming home early. She’d also taken a phone call from the police that the man had been charged, the video footage from the team and CCTV making it easy to convict him. The video had gone viral meaning there were hundreds of comments and an outpouring of support waiting for you when you got home, praise was also given to Millie for her quick thinking and take-no-shit approach.

Stirring awake at the zips being pulled around the suitcase, for a split second you’d forgotten what had happened in the early hours of the morning. Your best friend noticed your morning stretch immediately and offered a soothing tone of voice letting you know what was happening. Surprisingly you were feeling a lot better than yesterday and were thankful you had such amazing friends, knowing that it could have been a lot worse if it wasn’t for them. Undressing in the shower your fingertips ran over your forearm that was now a giant blotch of colours but found comfort in knowing they will fade and you’ll never have to see that horrible man again. Vowing to never go off by yourself in the future, you weren’t going to let this get to you; if anything it had made you feel more empowered to stand up for yourself and others. Glancing at your phone after washing the night off you to see all the notifications, only one name mattered. Rachy 👑.

A smile spread across your face at the thought of seeing your girlfriend, you’d missed her more than you realised - solidly confirming that you never wanted to be away from her again. You’d always thought you didn’t have to spend 24/7 with a partner, you didn’t want to merge into each other but maybe that’s because you’d never been in a relationship like this before.

Choosing to wear a long sleeve dress so you didn’t have to look at your arm, you tried your best to not let it ruin your last few hours in the sun and finished your book on the balcony until it was time to go. On the flight home Millie was much more subdued than when you arrived, letting you watch a musical with her knowing they’re your best medicine. The happy songs making you want to dance and sing, leaving the Barcelona drama on and off the pitch behind you.

Walking through the terminal the doors opened to show the love of your life waiting patiently for you to arrive, flowers and balloon in hand you launched yourself at her. Her arms squeezed tightly around your chest as your legs wrapped around her waist letting the balloon float up to the ceiling and the flowers drop to the floor. The only thing that mattered was each other. The only thing you cared about was each other. “My sweet girl” she whispered as her hand clutched the back of your head. Nothing compares to smooshing your face into Rachel’s neck and feeling your bodies pressed together as one. “I never wanna leave you again” your voice muffled into her “I’m never gonna let you leave me again!” placing you back onto the ground and holding your cheeks in her hands. Feeling her lips connect with your forehead you sunk back into each other; your safe place, your everything, your home being her and only her. Your anxieties blown away from simply being in her presence.

Millie had wandered off to find a trolley for the suitcases as Rachel took your hand and offered you a seat on top of them, pushing you through the airport like the queen she viewed you as. The three of you chatted about all the good parts of the holiday; she didn’t mention the incident because she knew you’d talk about it when you were ready.

After loading everything in the car, Rachel’s hand found her place on your thigh “I can drop you home before my game if you want?” she suggested quietly. “I don’t think so! What happened to never leaving me again aih?” you joked. “I didn’t know if you’d feel up for it?” she shrugged but you weren’t having any of it. “What a better way to cheer me up than seeing my girl in her kit for 90 minutes?” you laughed. She smiled as she reached through to the back seat unveiling your shirt “I bought it just in case” the love she has for you washed over her face. Jumping out of the car and dragging the suitcase back out of the boot the girls looked at you like you were mad, grabbing a bag, your jeans and trainers you made your way back to the front of the car. You handed your girlfriend a bag of presents and pulled your jeans on underneath your dress. She slyly watched you pull them over your bum then slip your dress off and her shirt on. Twirling around in front of her “like I never left” you announced as you plopped back in your seat. Rach watched you intently as your glow started to come back but she couldn’t divert her eyes from your arm that was now on show. You could feel her staring so distracted her with the bag “open your presents then!” She was shocked at the amount, looking at you in disbelief “I bought everything that reminded me of you!” you laughed. Mostly silly things like magnets, keyrings, a stuffed animal and a friendship bracelet. Stomping your foot onto the dashboard as you slipped your trainers on, “we’ve all got one! It was Millie’s idea to put them round our ankles, then you can hide them in your socks when you play” you told her, pleased with the idea. Bringing her knee up to her chest immediately to tie it around her ankle too before driving to Bescott Stadium.

During the drive you rummaged around your handbag trying to find any bits of make up you’d left in there, topping up your face carefully as Rach drove around the pot holes in the road. “Babe, you already look beautiful” she said, “yeah but your ex is gonna be there tonight, I need to look my best!” you announced. Villa are playing Man U today which probably means Rachel is going to be defended by her ex - Millie Turner - a topic that rarely gets brought up into conversation; you knew it was a mutual decision to split but that was about it. “I could put you in any stadium in the world and you’d always be the prettiest girl there” she beamed at you, leaning to place a kiss on your cheek as she pulled into her parking space. She opened the door for you, pulling you out and into her arms as she did. “You are the love of my life, don’t you forget it” placing a kiss on your forehead, each one of your cheeks and nose before ending on your lips. Her finger tips slipped down your arms and linked your hands in hers “do you want a jumper?” she asked quietly, wondering whether you’d want to cover your arm. “How’s anyone gonna see your name on my back if I wear a jumper? I’m okay, I promise” you reassured her. Linking your arms in hers and Millie’s who’d been sitting in the back quietly letting you both have your moment then strutted towards the stadium together.

Arriving at the entrance as the Man U bus pulled up and the players poured out Mary was the first to appear and spotting you all standing there let out a high pitch scream of excitement at seeing her friends, forgetting for a second that for tonight they were rivals. She offered her support to you and then congratulated Millie on her bravery, shocked to see you both there when a matter of hours ago you were in Barcelona. Millie T had heard the commotion and came out next, about to head over to her teammate before she spotted you and Rachel and quickly diverted into the building. Saying goodbye you told Rach to score which made Mary scoff, game face firmly etched on her now! You knew beating Man U would be tough, but not impossible “score more than one” you winked as the England teammates walked in together leaving you and Millie to find your seats.

Sure enough 2-1 to Villa at halftime, Rachel Daly on the score sheet for both of them. She had celebrated with her team before holding heart hands up to the stands towards you knowing she had done what you had told her to do, on a day like today making you feel even more special than usual. She really knew how to make you feel like the only girl in the world. Man U equalised in the second half and in the 87th minute Millie T was subbed on. A mere 6 minutes later she had headed the ball past Hannah, making your heart sink. To come away with a draw against the team at the top of the league would have been amazing but of all people it had to be your girlfriend’s ex that scored the winner. Knowing how gutted the girls must have felt you watched the teams fist bump and shake hands, noticing Rachel and Millie T exchanged words before she came running over towards you. “I’m so proud of you!” you shouted over to her, seeing the smile she started the day with had disappeared. “We lost!” her eyes rolled as she threw her arms into the air in frustration. “Only by one! It could have been a lot worse!” she shrugged at the truth in your statement as you watched Millie T walk towards where you all were. “Hey, I just thought I’d say I saw what happened to you. That guy’s a dick, I’m glad you’re okay” you nodded and thanked her “it was nice to meet you, you clearly make each other very happy” she smiled solemnly as she jogged away. You all pulled a face to each other that showed pleasant surprise - you didn’t expect that today!

The car ride home was a somber and pensive one, arriving home the ritual of the kettle flicking on as soon as you walked through the door warmed your soul. Immediately pulling your sweats on to feel comfy then lounged in the garden drinking your teas before Millie went back to her house. Before she went, Rachel stopped her “thank you for looking after her bestie” they hugged “hey, any time you know that” she reassured her “I’m just sorry I lost you in the first place (y/n/n)”, “hey you were there when I needed you, that’s all that matters” you said joining the hug. As the door closed behind her Rachel’s hand grazed your back, the slightest of touches making you feel a sense of calm and comfort. “I’m so glad you’re home beautiful” wrapping her arms around your waist “I’m so glad to be home” stroking her cheek and gazing into those beautiful blue eyes you had missed so deeply “never again do I want to be apart from you”.

Thor Love and Thunder deleted scenes - 1 & 2 These 2 scenes show that Zeus visits Thor and Jane in the hospital to give Thor the thunderbolt. He advises him on how to use energy for thunderbolt and gives directions for Eternity. Jane makes the choice to go with Thor. Out of other options, they use the goats to travel there.

It's nice to see Thor get some fatherly interaction and behave like his former self: the smile at 'I have many sons', not speaking much but actually listening, being intelligent enough to know what was said in Roman. Little things.

However, these scenes show us an entirely different version of the film. If we go by them, Thor never 'killed' Zeus and left Omnipotent City on possibly good terms with him, given how he casually strolled directly to Jane's hospital bed to talk to Thor and they're all cool with each other.

The Shadow Realm confrontation might have happened as is because Jane is injured and Valkyrie is also out of the picture entirely. Thor is about to go face Gorr alone w no Valkyrie or Jane or Thunderbolt or Stormbreaker or even Mjolnir and not knowing how to reach Eternity perhaps (whatever could go wrong?). But with Zeus giving him the thunderbolt and Jane joining in, the entire climax of the film changes again.

Rant incoming:

Sh*t like this makes me wonder do they shoot 13 different versions of everything and 15 different movies, hoping to find the actual film in editing? That's such a massive waste of the cast and crew's time and effort. These aren't even deleted scenes. These are alternate universes from movies that could have been. Multiverses, if you will.

Deleted scenes are fun additional details the audience could do without. Like Thor returning the mug he broke or Frigga berating/begging Odin to end Thor's exile. Or they're a different/alternate version of existing scenes that may change the context of some things in the story. Like Odin freakin’ letting Frigga die. You could or could not add them but at the end of the day, they don't make a difference to the eventual story.

But in Thor4, if you add Zeus visiting the hospital, you gotta scrap out the entire confrontation at the Omnipotent City. If you add Jane just choosing to ignore Thor's heartfelt request to stay at the hospital and Thor not freaking reacting to it as well (??), you gotta change the entire climax again. I hope to god in the multiverse where this scene of Zeus showing fatherly affection to Thor exists, the scene from the theatrical cut of him ripping Thor’s clothes for fun, looking at him creepily and saying ‘pretty boy’, and inviting him to the o*gy doesn’t. Go to jail, Marvel.

I just-- it doesn't make sense. What even was the original story? Was there a story at all? This is important because Thor is the only character in the MCU to get the elusive 4th film. If you're going to continue a series against the norm, it should be because you really have a story to tell. Like Mad Max: Fury Road, Dexter: New Blood, and John Wick: Chapter 4.

Though I don't think producer Kevin Feige cares much about things like core story and character progression because Thor brings in the $$$. And director Taika Waititi doesn't either because he shot over 4 hours' worth of movie that he can surely cut out a theatrical version from - with every possibility on the cards, whatever the test audience reacts well to.

It's the cast and crew that are the real victims of this methodical merciless studio filmmaking. It's been well-documented that the VFX artists working on Marvel projects have been heavily overworked. A lot of their hard work could have been saved if there was a more definitive story structure so over half the footage they tirelessly worked on wouldn't end up on the cutting room floor. To add insult to injury, Waititi went on to mock them for giving their sweat, blood, and tears to his project. Classy.

Poor Christian Bale shaved his head to play Gorr, only to have most of his scenes cut from the film. Natalie Portman also did physical training for her role.

And Chris did the most extreme training he has ever done for this film. He already did excruciating training for the extreme physique as is. Add to it the dehydration for the shirtless scenes and not eating meat for kissing scenes - just willingly making life difficult for himself. Could have saved him a lot of torturous training by not shooting 13 different versions of every scene out of which 12 won't make it to the final film.

I'm aware that shooting movies works like that - you shoot different versions of scenes that don't make it to the final edit. They signed up for shaving their head and dying training to maintain the impossible physique. All I'm saying is that it's sad that it's all in service of material that just doesn't do them justice. It’s all vapid corporate thinking with no vision.

The Mystery of 1108

When I first became a Jikooker, I started to watch and read different theories on Jikook channels and blogs, and the 1108 theory was one of those theories that all Jikookers collectively agreed on. Based on this theory, the 8th day of November is a special anniversary for Jikook because they started dating on that day. We know Jikook care so much about special days and anniversaries, because they have posted several times on Valentine's days, and Korean romantic dates, and they never miss spending a birthday together. So, after learning this theory, I started to expect them to do something on this special day, but it never happened. In 2018, the Jimin t-shirt thing happened, and no one expected him or the other members to do anything anytime soon. One year later, JK had a car accident at the beginning of November, and again, appearing on social media or going out was too much to ask for. Then in 2020 and the years after that, when Jikook didn't post or do anything special, I started to question this theory. Of course, this theory was fully based on facts. JK had released GCF in Tokyo on this very day after all, but could all this be just a coincidence? I mean, he might have finished the editing that day, or maybe he was just matching the numbers with the hotel room as a special message for Jimin? It's not impossible. What was the truth?

To see things more clearly, let's review all the facts; Where the 1108 theory comes from? The truth is, the 1108 theory never existed until JK posted the GCF in Tokyo on the Bangtan TV channel on November 8th, 2017. This was definitely a turning point in the history of Jikookers, and they started to dig into the numbers and dates to find some links and connections that could help them to know more about Jikook:

The first ever jikook video on Twitter was posted on November 8th, 2015, right after the Melon awards.

100 days later, on February 15th, JK posted the cover of "Nothing like us" by Justin Bieber.

On November 8th, 2016, BTS was leaving for Japan, and Jimin posted a Jikook video on the plane.

1000 days later, JK posted a selca at Malta at 10:13 local time, which is Jimin hour.

If you ask me, there is a high possibility for these four incidents to be just coincidences, and Jikook might never mean to share any secrets by posting them. Don't get me wrong, I'm only looking at this theory in a different way and not denying it because first, several other theories indicate Jikook started dating around the same era (late 2015), and second, the evidence is not limited to those four incidents I mentioned.

Let's look at the second part of evidence; Jimin approved the 1108 theory by using the number 2315 at the Soul concert ment when exactly 2315 days had passed from 151108, or by posting a selca with glasses at 1:50 AM when 1500 days had passed. And JK also made it clear several times that 1108 has a special meaning for him by using 1:18 as the timestamp or posting at 23:08. If you look at the second part of the evidence, you will see that they are more recent and started at the end of 2018. But why? We will come back to this later.

Let me ask another question first: Do Jikook celebrate the anniversary of GCF in Tokyo?

Imagine you got married, and your partner is making a video of your wedding/honeymoon footage to publish on social media. Will you celebrate the actual trip/ceremony anniversary or the anniversary of the day you posted the video? The answer is clear. I know Jikook are not common people, and this comparison might not be 100% accurate, but at least it gives us a pretty good insight into how Jikook might see these dates and anniversaries. Jikook celebrate their Tokyo trip anniversary, and they have been loud about it several times, here are some examples:

1. They were super loud at Soul SYS concerts on October 29th.

2. Exactly 1000 days after 171031, JK covered "10000 hours" by Justin Bieber.

3. On the 4th anniversary of their trip, JK covered "Falling" by Harry Styles.

Let's make the post short and have the conclusion already. In my opinion, 1108 is not an anniversary for Jikook, it is a code.

We know JK loves to use codes to convey his hidden messages, and he tried it with 123 or 13 before, but other shippers and OT7s sabotaged the message (you know how). So he chose something with more clear meaning for his target audience. This code (whether it refers to a special date or not) is directly connected to Jikook, and they both have been using it since 2019.

you continued working on editing the episode of "going seventeen" that was filmed a few days prior.

while editing, you decided to add clips of joshua to your "joshua blackmail" video that you had been saving for a rainy day.

a few hours passed and you finished editing what you needed to edit. you send it to your co-workers before shutting down your computer. you took your glasses off, placing them on your desk mat, and stood up from your chair.

after a bit of aching and stretching, you went out of your office and headed into the kitchen. you grabbed a protein bar from the pantry and ate it while figuring out what to eat for dinner.

is josh getting dinner with the guys?

unsure if your boyfriend already ate dinner, you ate another snack and decided to pick him up from his rehearsal. you left your house and drove to the company building.

once you arrived, you went inside the building and walked to the practice room. you heard "left & right" playing from the room and quietly opened the door. you poked your head in and saw all of the guys rehearsing.

you waited until the song was over before walking inside, closing the door behind you.

"y/n! you're here!" dino greeted you first.

"hi guys," you smiled at them.

"did you finish editing?" joshua asked as he walked up to you. you nodded, and he greeted you physically with a hug. "did you eat yet?" he asked.

"just a protein bar and some chips. i wasn't sure if you were going out to eat or not," you said to him.

"we can grab dinner together if you want," joshua said with a smile on his face.

"to the couple that rubs it in our faces that they're together, we still have rehearsal."

you two looked over and saw the guys looking at you two.

then, you kissed joshua's cheek. "go practice, i'm gonna watch all of your funny clips from the latest episode," you said to him, making joshua frown.

"you really just want to blackmail me for the rest of our lives, huh?" he said before kissing you back on the lips and returning to their rehearsal.

The Crusade

Brief History

Before the 2012 David Production anime, there was another adaptation of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure done in 1993 by Studio A.P.P.P. (Another Push Pin Planning). It was 6 episodes long and adapted the Stardust Crusaders Battle in Egypt arc. In 2000, Studio A.P.P.P. adapted the beginning of Stardust Crusaders. These were 7 episodes long. All 13 episodes had a half an hour run time. In 2007. Studio A.P.P.P. released a film adapting the first part of JoJo, Phantom Blood. According to viewer testimonies, the film was roughly 90 minutes long and ran for 3 months in various cinemas. After that, it was never seen again. All that exists now are the 16-minute workprint, 2004 teaser, 2 trailers, and various promotional materials.

What I’m doing on this blog

I simply want to bring attention to the JoJo OVAs as they were a brilliant piece of media and criminally underrated. I also want to provide content for fellow fans and provide resources to be able to watch them. In addition, I want to bring attention to the Phantom Blood movie so there could eventually be some sort of full release. I will be doing all this by

creating my own original content (in the form of clips, text posts, homegrown shitposts, and more if I ever gain new skills)

reblogging content from other creators (art, gifs, and shitposts)

providing information

advertising other’s works (outside of Tumblr)

and more (if I think of more)

Even if I go dormant at least my resources will be archived :) (I am a university student so I may be slow)

Where can I watch the OVAs? (EDIT: 16/03/2023 Notelu’s restoration is down)

There are two places I go to to watch the OVAs. Notelu’s restorations on Internet Archive and aniwave. Do not watch the ones on YouTube as the quality is less than ideal (to say the least). We mean stretched footage and overly saturated colours, and in some cases bad audio delay.

You did, since I explicitly said a bajillion times not to count on it.

Episodes 7-8 had film shuffle, director shuffle, and more.

*furthermore* though I must be incredibly fucking vague about this, episodes 12-13 are doing the same.

People need to stop relying on rigid rules they taught themselves as Facts Of Life rather than Facts Of An Old Inflexible Studio that old SPN was under.

For example, the clowns and circus shit that people attached to being about the finale, because of that 40-minute-in comment from *SPEIGHT* about shooting things for the *finale*, not midseason.

So unless he's directing 12/13 too, even parts of 7's filming-- WHICH I REMIND LASTED TWICE AS LONG AS IT SHOULD HAVE--could end up seeded into like 8-10.

I repeat: they're doing this right now for the finale, the same as they did it for midseason. Things you hear are episode 12 or 13 are gonna wipe you out if you don't know how to flex and read.

Remember the director listing mixup, for example, think about Showalter's position in reshoots; think about how high key this episode was (and most of all watch what I drop tomorrow. All of it. At once. Like a movie. An hour and a half of the key.). Think about us coming back from hiatus to a 2 hour special bundling the midseason episodes.

Stop being rigid ass thinkers. Nobody convinced you that this shit is shooting perfectly straight through in an orderly episodic feature but you. Dig around inside your skull all you want for evidence of it, and it is not to be found.

You know who else got active during "7" filming, which we should really call "midseason filming"? Jared. When Speight popped in, he followed Sam. Meanwhile planes were flying around landing in private hangars I've got dropped for you. Everybody followed everybody during this period suddenly, or those that weren't followed early on.

What this means is anything that didn't go into episode 7 is *likely* to go to 8 but can be posted out as far as like, 9. 8 is more likely, 9 is possible.

But this is the last episode to air until January. Right now they're filming like 12.5 the same as 7.5. That means from this very moment until then, post has nothing but time on its hands to manage footage. And I need you to keep in mind I'm in the midst of uploading my own 334 master key to the winchesters codex by tomorrow afternoon. Again, watch it.

So eps 8-12 are going to be sitting plonked in post with eps 8-12.5 filmed, and the others able to giggle at any point and pack in filming the rest on the side, if they be not doing that already now or before holiday.

Result: starting 12/7/2022, until Jan 24 2023, the show takes holiday. About one week will be there for post. They also tend to resume office operations a few weeks earlier than studio, meaning 2-3 weeks ahead for them to putz with whatever they want.

Due to normal curve, they already had 8 in post, that much I know. I saw a pinch of 7's post a few weeks back. So this 2-3 weeks is them putzing what to do with 8-12.5's footage in episode 8, then forward into 9 etc. By then, episode 13 will be thoroughly wrapped but in a locked down and secretive way.

Can't emphasize enough how many times I said, don't hold ur breath for ep 7, 8's just as likely, much less anywhere else they jockey it.

And most of all just. Please by god if you never watch another video of mine watch the one I drop tomorrow. I currently have it down to about 15 more minutes of footage I need to figur out how/where/if to trim in on the mastertrack, then from there it's all exports, test runs to make sure I didn't screw up, most exports, uploads, and waiting 18 years for youtube to process the HD tomorrow, hence saying Weds night. Frankly I should be done with all but glitch tweaks in a bit. About 1-2 more hours editing, then I slep while it exports, lather rinse repeat lmfao.

"How is this possible?"

Dean walked up to Tim and Lucy, showing them new footage on his phone.

"It's been six hours in the tense standoff with the LAPD. There is much speculation in regards to hostages, but anonymous sources within the Attorney General's Office have told us that there is an undercover LAPD officer currently held inside the compound."

"Hostage negotiators say they are making headway and are hopeful for a positive outcome. There is no word as to why this officer was sent in alone."

"Which one of you is it? Which one of you is LAPD?"

"Why do you think one of us is LAPD? Tim asked, testing the waters.

"I'll be forgiven for what I have to do." Dean mumbled under his breath, evidently getting more pissed by the minute.

"What are you on about. LAPD?" Lucy asked.

"One of you does. Who. Is. It?" Deans voice echoed, and even his second-man failed to hide a flinch.

There was no time to think, it was a split second decision. Life or Death. The risk was worth it.

"Me. It's me."

There was no time to gather thoughts before Dean took a stride forward and threw a punch.

Lucy struggled to keep her face straight as she saw Tim head jerk back at the sheer force of the punch.

Tim moved his head back, and Lucy only saw a sliver of blood trailing down his chin before Dean twisted the sergeant's left arm behind his back, slamming him into the wall.

"You lied to me. I don't like liars." Dean said into Tim's ear, further twisting his hand in pain. His eyes locked with Lucy, trying to convey to him that despite this setback, her cover seemed to be intact. He needed it to stay that way.

"Is it just you?"

"Yes."

"I'm going to give you five seconds to revise that answer. Because if I find out you're lying, I will watch your accomplice die first, before I kill you."

Tim saw Lucy open her mouth, but uttered a 'it's just me' before she could get a word out.

"Good."

A swift kick to Bradford's knee sent him sprawling onto the floor, gripping his knee in pain.

"On your knees. Now."

As fast as he could with the dull throbbing in his knee, he pulled himself up, staring at Dean who was now pointing a gun at him. He stared into the barrel, unfazed.

He gestured at his associates, who are formed up on either side of Tim, enveloping his arms into theirs.

"Lucy, is it?" Dean asked, looking back at Chen, who was standing there, mentally running through solutions of how to get out of the mess they were in.

"Did you know he was in the LAPD?"

"Tim told me he was former military, unemployed, looking for someone with the right expertise. Now I needed them expertise, so he was hired. He's been reliable, trustworthy."

"Maybe you don't know your people so well."

While you say you are grateful for the coverage, comments like your recent one make it appear that you aren’t. I have a relatively small collection, and it was a still lot of work to create it in the first place and then to eventually get it on to YouTube. I can’t imagine how many hours the more prolific YouTube channel owners have spent. For me, it was a labour of love, but a labour nonetheless. Complaints can be very discouraging.

I'm sorry that you feel that way. I am extremely grateful and I try to leave thank you messages as well as likes and subscribes on youtube because that's a metric that actually helps channels especially small ones.

But none of what I said about that coverage had anything to do with the people who worked to collected and preserved it. The hard working fans who collected things over the years didn't have anything to do with the decisions made by broadcasters to edit things down and part of that post was talking about the lengths of the broadcast choices made by CBC and ESPN. It's certainly not the fault of the collector that for instance ESPN decided to boil down 4 hours of event finals to 13 minutes of which not even all the medalists were shown. Talking about those choices is media criticism and historical data about the choices of multimillion dollar companies. Another aspect that effects "quality" of coverage is when meets had to be uploaded in many parts. That's also not something anyone should blame the uploader for but was a consequence of youtube policies when things were uploaded more than a decade ago.

When it comes to the poor quality recordings as you pointed out that's often nothing to do with the collector who had no control over the quality of the transmission in Greece or Egypt or Australia. Damage to recordings over time in tape exchanges are tragic but also part of the history of the sport and not something we should be silent about but people also shouldn't blame the youtube uploader for any of that. As you say the act is a labor of love and sometimes the best version of something is going to be the poor quality one so gymnastics fans really do need to understand that for historical meets. It is a miracle that both the Greek and Arabic versions survived. But like the example of Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella the miracle of survival doesn't mean you don't talk about the state of survival in part because the state of survival will influence the choices people make on what to watch. The ESPN coverage is pretty. The Arabic coverage is better by a lot of other metrics to me. But I'm used to watching a lot of poor quality recordings and someone who sits down to watch this meet for fun may choose the ESPN coverage simply because they do not have the patience to watch something where the brightness is blown out and there is a constant vhs hum.

I think the thing I'd leave people with is if you watch a meet on youtube try to leave a like, comment, subscribe to the channel, link back to the video so that the uploader gets more traffic, be aware of the limitations of the media.

But also... you are a responding to a post on a tiny tumblr that basically said "hey I'm watching this meet and here are the drawbacks in this meet coverage." It wasn't directed at the collectors or the youtube uploaders or put in their spaces. I'm sorry that you find that kind of discussion discouraging but it's also not reasonable to expect people not to talk about choices made by broadcasters or the consequences and accidents of the survival of historical documents.

One of the reasons I'm doing the project I'm doing is so that more people can access and look at this footage. That's a labor of love too. Just a different one.

It was unusual for her to be in front the camera. She very rarely did it. To be honest, she was only doing it because she trusted her team so much to not mess it up. Cressida also knew she could rely on Thatcher to edit all the footage. Cressida certainly did not want to look at images of herself for hours upon end during the editing period. And so, with that, she had allowed herself to sit in front of the camera.

She supposed another reason why she had taken so long to actually agree to fill a propo was due to her not believing it would be too useful. Of course, she should think all propo was useful. But she didn't think the districts would care too much about her, someone from the Capitol. And most of the Capitol just viewed her as a traitor. But showing that people from the Capitol could be useful in the rebellion, was something she did think was important.

"I filmed it." Which made sense. She was a film maker after all. That was her job in the rebellion. She filmed most of the propos. Or, she edited it at least. "We felt it was important that the citizens of Panem saw what was happening in the Capitol." Or well, the rebellion leaders had thought it anyway. Cressida figured that she didn't really have much choice. If she'd said no, she supposed theyd have just sent a different filming crew.

"I usually produce." She went on to explain. "But all along I've said I won't send my filming crew into anything I wouldn't do myself." She had been pretty adament on that. Of course it meant exposing herself to danger. But the Districts had exposed them that to 75 years without much choice. This was the least she could do.

Cress bit her lip. She didn't think she was doing a very good job. She wasn't really made to be on this side of the camera. She felt much more comfortable holding the camera, and producing herself. "I'm much better being on the other side of the camera…" She joked, trying to ease some of the tension that she felt. "But it felt important to be there, to document what was happening, and how the rebellion were rescuing the captives. The Capitol didn't care for them. It was important to document that people did care. They are safe here in 13 now." and in time the rest of Panem would be safe too.
