Transformers: Mosaic #401 - "Blackup"
Originally posted on July 20th, 2009
Story - Sekhmet Demagis Art, Letters - Minttu Hynninen
deviantART | Seibertron | TFW2005 | BotTalk
wada sez: The writer of this one left a lot of comments on the strip, so I’ve compiled the salient ones here: “Sup dawg, we heard you like TF Mosaic and memes, so we put memes in a Mosaic so you can enjoy while you enjoy. :D [...] The genesis of this piece was that Blackout bio posted in the Transformers Collectors' Club Magazine, which stated that he single-handedly defeated several Omega Sentinels during the Great War - it became a big wish of mine to portray this feat, and Minttu was invaluable in helping me fulfil said goal. [...] Shortly after the script idea germinated in my mind, I was seized by a mad impulse to pen it as a love letter to a phenomenon that has always fascinated and tickled me - Internet memes. A good number seemed almost too apropos for the story, and I must confess that I might have gone too far with cramming in as many as I could. The one meme I won't apologize for, though, is DO WATS RITE - a near-legendary fixture of the infamous Laserbeak.org, whose denizens are good friends of mine and have been singularly supportive of my artistic forays. [...] I originally conceived the script with Blackout being equal to Omega Supreme in size. Then 'Transwarped' aired, and I discovered that he was actually but a tad larger than Lugnut. The subsequent release of official height charts only served to reinforce the truth. So I ended up revising things. In retrospect, the fact that Blackout is far smaller than the Omega Sentinels makes his triumphs over them that much more impressive. :) [...] The posing and photo-taking [in the final panel] were not in my script, actually - Minttu added them on her own initiative.” As Demagis says, the strip uses several memes from the time. I’m pretty sure the mispelling “evar” was just common to LOLspeke back then. “Campaign’s closed” references “Pool’s Closed”. “Victoly” is a translation error from the game Samurai Showdown. And the entire format for the strip is that of a demotivational poster.

A picture portraying Chara’ s hypocrisy  between others behavior toward them and  their own behavior toward others discussing the topic of toxic masculinity, another possible reason why Asriel sought for a divorce between him and Chara. (Drake meme format using your gifs, sorry!) [P.S.: If you have a reddit account, you can contact me, there are lot of awesome artworks by you guys (mainly Minty’s) being posted on some subreddits such as r/charaoffensesquad, it would be better if you have an account so we can label it as your artworks (I have posted your Chapter 9~11 of Caretaker AU on r/undertale)][If you feel offended, I will apologize, I am not meant to be toxic to others, thank you ;(]

I FINISHED SEASON 1 OF WOLF359 AND THIS IS NOT OKAY (Reaction to Episodes 11-13, plus mini episode 1)
So basic info on the tags and how to follow my reactions below, but I'm honestly too emotional to type much more than that. What the heck was even that? I gotta get going, so I'll let past Bods of a few minutes ago do the talking under the "Keep Reading Button" but YIKES this was a LOT.
I currently have Wolf359 Tags blocked to avoid spoilers and will try my best to react blindly. I also made this meme to describe my recent feelings.
Tumblr media
Tagging the mutuals who got me invested in this, and if you want to be tagged or untagged from these posts, lmk, or you can follow my blog or simply follow the tag "#bods wolf359 reactions". Anyone who has followed me for a while knows my updates are inconsistent, so I apologize in advance for that.
@sophieswundergarten @oflightningandstars @acollectionofcuriousreblogs
So for these last few episodes, I'm just gonna live react since I have the time to sit down. Sorry for inconsistent formatting.
Episode 11: Am I Alone Now?
Um... Hilbert? A grey door where no one ever goes??? Well...where does it go? "Open in Emergency When You're Alone"... what does that mean?
Oh the joke about the genie. I've heard this one before: "I wish my friends were back with me". Yep, that's it.
Wait. Wait. Is that what the door does? Does it somehow...bring them back? What is this metaphor trying to suggest? Or...does it only make you think they're back? So that you don't go crazy? Or is it a door that leads outside the ship? Like...a door that gives you the option to, for lack of a better word, "give up" if the others die and you're left alone in space? Because that would also be dark.
Okay, Hilbert, I agree, fear can be adaptive. Uh, not sure about the gun and war thing, that's not exactly what I meant...wait bombs? Hilbert, no, you SHOULD be afraid of yourself.
Working on the fear of death? Uh...Hilbert? Are you uh...working on reanimating corpses in space, because that sounds like a bad idea to me.
"Alone should be afraid of us instead there is a door incase I am ever alone." Well what about the others?
I agree Hilbert, alone can be a good time to focus, but I gotta say, not sure I like how you're spending your valuable alone time.
"The scary part is the part of your mind that whispers back: how can you be sure?".
Oh. Now what's interesting about that quote is that in the "Alone should be afraid of us" sentence it personifies alone. The only way to really be comfortable being alone is if you are confident that you are stronger than whatever might be there if you aren't alone. But how can you ever know 100% that you are stronger than the unknown? Also there are sound effects that sound like someone moving about. Don't like that.
Is it Blessie?
"Someone must think they are alone when they are not, there must be monsters underneath someone's bed". Okay, Hilbert, clearly going for the creepy quote of the episode award.
Why is there knocking?
Uh...Empty Man?
Um...why is WHO here Hilbert? What other missions???? Was Hilbert on another mission? Hello???? Hilbert? EXPLAIN????
"You weren't here last time, but now you are here waiting for the day, open in case of emergency, open only when you are alone."
Does the empty man want them to open the door? When they think he's not around? Why?
Uh...I don't think that joke is very funny Hilbert. And no, I'm not laughing, you're dodging my questions.
Oh now we're onto Hera. I like this. We see a lot of Doug alone but not the others.
Yeah, Hera you should NOT trust the code Hilbert gives you. I wouldn't be surprised if he's experimenting on you too.
HERA. WHAT DO YOU "SENSE UNSEEN?" And yeah...Hera I know how programming works. If I don't unblock the wolf359 tag, tumblr.com isn't gonna just show me wolf359 posts, or tell me "hey here's one you should look at". But let's just say, hypothetically, that one of my mutuals draws some wolf359 season 1 fan art that doesn't spoil anything for me. Then I would trust that they might message me, and tell me that it's okay to view their wonderful art, but I won't know that unless they tell me because the tag is blocked. Not the best metaphor, but the point still stands, Hera I guess you don't HAVE to tell them about the "empty man" roaming the ship unless they ask you for that information. But as their friend, you probably should. What motivation would you have for hiding this? Hera seems to have very human attributes in terms of her ability to have social connections. She also seems to care about them to some degree. At least, she seems fond of Doug and has some tension with Mincowski and Hilbert. She's pretending to talk to Doug, which is a very human thing to do.
Ah yes. Good for you for finding loopholes in your programming Hera. I like riddles too. But...what exactly are you going to do with these riddle answers you've acquired? Are you going to help the rest of the crew? Blessie? The empty man? Or do you have your own agenda?
"Somedays I wonder if I'll miss you after you go away forever Doug." Aw, Hera. 🥺.
"I doubt it". No, I think you will Hera. The fact that you, a robot, are even wondering about missing Doug makes me think you will. Especially since you could, theoretically, live until the heat death of the universe, which is a very long time to be alone.
Wait. WAIT. The storm is happening on a part of the spectrum that their minds can't process...is that what the empty man is? Is that why they can't see him? But Hera can't see it either so her programming must either not be able to see it or it's being blocked. But weirdly enough, only visually it seems. Huh.
Hera seems frustrated with humanity, but also seems to care about them, maybe envy them a little bit. I love this level of complexity with her. "Once the game is over, I'll come up with some names for these colors." Yikes, Sophie, when you said that I was writing the Whisperer very similarly to Hera, I didn't realize it was gonna be that spot on, but okay, especially with her calling this a “game”. It’s kinda like a darker version of what I’m writing or at least, it seems to be leaning darker, probably because it’s adult media. It also makes me wonder who Hera's creator is and what they want, or maybe that just doesn't matter in this story.
"Someday. After you've all gone away..." Um. Hera. Did you open the door?
Or are you the genie in this metaphor?
Ah now we're with Doug.
INCINERATED? What sort of psych evaluation is this? And these questions are NOT standardized for space. When coming up with psych evaluation materials, you need context. Answers that are normal in a warzone or in space are not normal in everyday life.
WHY IS HE SEARCHING FOR ALIEN LIFE IF HE DOESN'T WANT TO BE HERE? Doug, I know pizza hut might not be paying much, but you gotta follow your passion, and this clearly isn't it.
10 things you miss about earth and not one person? No one? No family? No friends?
"Great listener"/"I empathize too much" ok Doug.
Hm. Not too sure about Doug's answers. Honesty is only overrated when you're not the one being lied to Doug.
It also makes me wonder what you really miss about Earth.
Wait. Mission = Punishment? Spaceship = Prison? Is Doug...are they...are they doing this because they are completing a criminal sentence? If so, I can see how Hilbert and Mincowski got assigned to this as a punishment, they have science and military backgrounds, but what on Earth is Doug's story? "He was a former tech genius kid who burnt out got into drugs and alcohol, worked at pizza hut, did a crime, and now they sent him to space?" And since when do space missions fulfill court mandated community service? Also Doug I think technically has arms training, because if I recall correctly, Mincowski gave him a gun but refused to give one to Hilbert. Like...who are you Doug? What is your deal?
Alone...again. Yeah, just Doug and the voices in his head. Forgot about those. There's a lot to keep track of for a small cast of characters.
Let's do a quick run down before we hear from the commander:
Doug Eiffel- former pizza hut employee, no family/friends to speak of, possibly serving prison sentence, apparently knows how to use a gun and a lot about communications
Dr. Hilbert- doing VERY unethical space experiments, sees himself as a genius despite being a huge liability whose mind was nearly over taken by a killer plant. Obviously knows SOMETHING the others don't, so I don't trust him or his spinal fluid stealing ways.
Commander Mincowski- stereotypical by the books commander, I like her, but she also has a ton of unanswered questions and vague backstory so ???
Hera- seems nice, I wish people treated her better but also clearly keeping secrets from the others including Doug who is her friend so Hera what are you doing?
Percival The Plant aka. "Percy" aka. The Blessed Eternal aka. "Percival B. Eternal" aka. "Blessie" aka "Specimen 34"- a plant that thinks of itself as a god. Where did it come from? Even if it did take over the ship, what is it's plan? No one knows.
The Empty Man???- may or may not exist, seems to be off the visible spectrum even for robots and AI. He's hungry or as the messages put it "the empty man hungers" and that's about all we know about him. What we don't know is what his food source is, and I find that rather troubling. Maybe Doug can make him some pizza. Oh, and one other thing: he knocks. Which...is surprisingly courteous behavior from a dangerous man that can't be seen. But why would they open the door for him, unless...oh. Unless they are so desperate not to be alone that they embrace the empty man. But like...how would that even...I don't even know. Also apparently the empty man was asleep, because the first message said he'd awoken. Awoken from what? Hyper sleep? Was he in the box? Apparently he can see them even if he can't be seen, and I don't like that.
The voices in Doug's head- they say "he's not the first". Which is kind of crazy, because Dr. Hilbert was talking about "other missions". So um...what other missions? Who are the others? Who are the voices? Is something being transmitted into Douglas' head?
Captain Lovelace and that scientist lady (don't remember her name) from the sealed off lab- are they still alive? Were they on a previous mission? Why did they want to make spiders bigger? What was the point of these experiments? I SWEAR I saw people posting about Lovelace before I blocked the tag, which makes me think she's important.
The Spiders- presumed dead. Let's hope so.
The thing in the box- weird that the box was 953, which is 359 backwards. Weird that it had a heartbeat. Weird that it was labelled "for Doug Eiffel" with no other information. Odd that there were so many other seemingly nonsensical boxes in that room.
Whoever sent the “Empty Man” messages. Because I’m starting to suspect it might not have been command and there might not have been a psychological experiment. Which means the messages were meant for someone, but whoever sent them didn't want the others to know about it. ...but who were the messages for? Hilbert? Hera? Hilbert? ...Blessie???
Whoever sent that jazz music earlier. It's good music, but why?
Also important to note that multiple characters on this list might be the same people, people pretending to be the same people, or different versions of the same character due to cloning or time travel experiments thanks to weird space magic and also Dr. Hilbert.
Now let's here from the captain.
I um...I wouldn't call the talent show a success. Dr. Hilbert didn't get to make the ice cream! We never even got to find out what everyone's favorite flavor was 😥
3 minutes. Okay. Let's see what Captain Mincowski says.
I wonder who she's talking to.
Yeah, the plant being, it's weird that that's not a priority here, I agree Captain.
Huh. The weather is weird. VERY weird that Hilbert is ignoring it, and VERY weird that he has human tissues samples and jars with dead things after giving a monologue about trying to conquer death. Don't like that one little bit.
Soap? Hilbert you need to get better at lying. And yeah, captain given that he's talking about "other missions", I think he might have been lying for longer than anyone realizes...
Things moving around and turning up in odd places...it seems the empty man and Blessie (one of the two) enjoy furniture rearranging...yeah I do think there's more than the three of you, my list had at least 10 with some possible overlap.
I'm sorry what. The station changes? THE DOOR TO A SECTION JUST VANISHED? Terrarium? That might be Blessie, but still...that's weird. Eiffel...huh. Unsure if this is a case of him being so absent minded he didn't notice or remember the terrarium, or if he legit can't remember. Wait Wednesday started over? Clocks turned back at midnight? FOOD RETURNED? Okay you can change clocks, but you can't...okay time is being warped now. Maybe. Possibly. This is gonna be one of those things where you don't know how much is in their heads and how much is actually happening right? Oh boy. But also...how can one remember a time loop and the others don't...unless they are all remembering different loops...oh goodness, is this like Netflix's Dark, where I'm gonna have to start drawing maps or something?
"I don't know if there's anyone else I can trust": yeah, commander, and with the others in the same boat, it looks like you all really are alone.
Wait "MARRIED ME?" Who is she calling? Aw. Happy Birthday. That's sad but sweet. I hope she makes it home to whoever that is, but...for some reason I doubt.
Also...with the time loop stuff...is that what they mean by saying Doug isn't the first? Is Hilbert trying to escape the time loop is that why he remembers the other missions? What are the missions for? What does Hera know? Man I gotta stop doing these as study breaks or I'm never gonna quit.
But. Wait wait. Okay, I know I’ve had about 600 different insane theories already, but one more: I don’t know who sent the empty man messages. But. Is the empty man… a vessel for someone? Hilbert was talking about cheating death, time warp stuff is happening, maybe this is an invention of future Hilbert. If it came from the box, it might be for Doug. Like a… backup body for his consciousness or an… invisible clone or something? It makes the “you’re not the first” stuff make sense too. Doesn’t explain Hera’s behavior or why Doug is in space, or why the empty man is hungry and knocking, but… you know what never mind idk where I was going with this one.
I think I'll react to the rest tomorrow, because it's late, and I'm tired.
Episode 12: Deep Breaths
Update: It is tomorrow. :)
Why so doom and gloom Doug? Oh it's Christmas. Well someone's a bit of a scrooge. What else besides celebrating a nice holiday Doug? What doesn't the commander remember?
No Doug, don't hint at stuff, explain it. Normalize explaining things.
Doug. A cigarette cannot be all you are living for. You need help. You all need help.
Don't cry for me Argentina? Do not go gentle into that good night?
Doug is so dramatic. I'd hate him more, but I'm in this picture, and I don't like it.
Hilbert. Why do you need him for your experiment?
DOUG DO NOT LIT THE CIGARETTE.
Hera tell him.
Everyone needs to listen to Hera more. And also ask her more questions.
Oh boy another recording!
Sounds like music, less clear this time...oh. A band!
Aw, Hera remembered his birthday! 🥺 Wait...were those words via the transmission!
Oh Hilbert hush up.
Why would it matter if they were all music or always old transmissions from the 10s or 20s?
Hilbert. Okay. Look, 7.8 light years away, I get that...but...now hear me out...isn't it possible that you could be picking up music on a station that plays music from an older decade? Like if I picked up the song "Let it be" by the Beatles my first thought would not be "Hey! That song didn't come out 8 years ago. ALIENS." it would be "oh we pick up a 60s/70s radio station". Now obviously something deeper probably IS going on here, but still a bit of a leap.
Uh. Making a return trip to...where?? Also this is some pretty clear music. Also good quote "When you eliminate the impossible, whatever is left no matter how unlikely must be true."
Also I recognize the music playing. Is that...hold up is that Church music? For Christmas? Wait now it sounds like a ballet?
Um...what is that.
...and why did it happen as soon as they talked about trying to find the aliens?
Let's see. A little weird that the station can receive transmission better than it can send. 40 light years away? That's pretty far.
And um...I don't know if I'd be so optimistic about this. We still have a lot of unanswered questions.
What is lock down protocol 24c and what is indigo39? Hilbert. HILBERT. Were you lying about the aliens to experiment on Doug Hilbert?
Oh poor Hera. Alpha victor? What... how does Hilbert have all these codes? Why can't she let Mincowski in? Hilbert. Are you taking over the ship? Is this a one man mutiny? It is treason. WHY DOES THIS ALTER THE MISSION? LAST HALF HOUR OF OXYGEN? NO NO NO NO NO!
Yeah Eiffel, he IS crazy.
Oh no Hera.
Minutes? How does he have a way to contact Earth? Who is YOUR superior Hilbert? The devil? He must be since you are RUINING CHRISTMAS AND DOUGLAS' BIRTHDAY THAT NO ONE BUT HERA REMEMBERED. How hard is it to save your evil plans until after the holidays? How hard is it not to betray a man on his birthday?
Hera. Hera PLEASE tell me you found a way to win the game. PLEASE tell me you found a way around this.
...Hera?
Uh-oh.
Episode 13: Gas Me Twice
Well that was a bummer. I swear, Mincowski better not die she has a family.
I hate Hilbert so much. Dude is the WORST.
Wait! The oxygen mask! For the cigarette! Douglas your stupidity has saved you again!
...oh my gosh I really am in this picture, and I don't like it.
Oh no. Hera. Hera you need to help him. Yes Douglas! Have faith in her! Even though she's actively withholding information, she still seems nice! HERA! It hurts her? Oh no... oh Hera no. 🥺
22 minutes of air? Well, at least she's still alive.
Incoming pulse beacon? Interesting...
Hephestus station please respond? ...Who is Cutter???
Contingency scenarios? Data series? Transmission from deep space? Origin source? Who are these people? WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING FOR?
Oh...wait why would he know about Eiffel being alive? Haha...oh Eiffel. This was a good plan. But you might have wanted to get a little more information from him.
Death was no immediate? Okay so Hilbert was under orders to kill, but it seems Doug is his own experimental side project? Interesting...
Oh dear. A fire. Looks like you have to let Hera have control back.
Yes! Mincowski is still alive! :)
YES HERA! Emergency response overrides it! For 20 minutes? Great. Kill or capture Hilbert now.
MADE HIM DO WHAT? NO HERA NO!
HERAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Restarting... no. No. Hera. You killed her. 😢😟🥺
This gif I found pretty much approximates my feelings:
Tumblr media
HILBERT NEEDS TO DIE.
Shut up Hilbert. No one wants to hear you speak.
Oh...hello Mincowski :)
NOW BEAT HIM UP!
And yeah...it's okay Mincowski. A lot has happened. Christmas was ruined. You lost a crewmate. It's okay to not be okay.
Can you hear me? Well Hera did say she could always hear him. Maybe a part of her mind got saved somewhere. At least, we can always hope.
Lobotomized her? No you need to fix her. 🥺
Hilbert you bastard. I don't swear much or at all on this blog, but if there was ever a time, it is now. And um... given the plant situation and the other mysterious stuff on the ship...look I don't support murder, but maybe you could just send Hilbert off by himself in a little pod and let nature take its course.
You deserved a good dinner Mincowski. Aw, Doug is 32. Happy Birthday Doug.
Hm. A communication from Hilbert's commanders. This is awkward. But better open it. And yeah, you both deserve answers.
But who is on the other line?
...Why does it sound like an telephone?
WHAT.
How dare. How dare they end on such a cliffhanger?
Mini Episode 1: Are space suits itchy?
So I'm not sure what this is, but it's on my podcast list as the last episode of season 1, so I'm gonna listen to it? Let me know if it's not canon or something, but hopefully it will be nice, even if I don't get any answers.
Aw, third grade questions. "What do you do when you're crewmate betrays you?"
IDIOTIC QUESTION? Doug what is up with your family? Be nice to Stephanie, it was a fair question.
Yeah, no don't see your doctor. He's nuts. I feel like I might be listening to his out of order. Which is a good thing. Otherwise Doug would be on the podcast telling third graders to not call their doctor lest the doctor try to kill him.
Oh boy the censorship 😂. Mincowski is the better person for this.
Well that was a quick one, but nice! Oh okay, so it was like a mini episode that aired during a break, okay. Well I hope that soon enough I'll be able to listen to more. Because I need answers. Hera needs to get better. And Hilbert needs to go to jail. I want his degrees revoked! I want him rotting in the slammer! I want the world to look upon him with nothing but contempt and disgust!
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this, see you all next time.
Wait no, wait hold on. What about the door? The door that Hilbert was supposed to open once he killed all of them? The grey door, the one he kept giving ominous monologues about? And...he knew about the empty man, or maybe the transmission were to tell him about the empty man. But what is that? What does that mean? You know what, we can figure that out later, I'm still mad at him.

More Hatter and Hare nonsense with that funny kiss meme I've been seeing artists do a lot recently :,)
Apologies for the huge gaps between posts, between starting another semester in college, working on OC projects, and getting used to translating my style into digital format I haven't had a whole lot of time to really make anything for AiW. Worry not though, I am still planning to do a lot more with the other characters and Clover will make an appearance eventually as well :,) I love this fandom and have no intentions of leaving, so I'll get around to some more digital art soon >:)

Schizophrenia. An illness that, by definition, challenges punitive justice and the determination toward accountability built up online.
Twomad was open about having schizophrenia. Toward the end he was talking to himself in other people's DMs, and this is the clearest symptom of psychosis, at a time in life it peaks (early 20's), and I can't emphasize it enough. Psychosis requires us to give benefit of the doubt and not take what they say, or even do, seriously. The brain processes real life as if it is in a dream or nightmare. It can occur from too high a dose of psychedelics. It used to be called early-onset dementia and has similar effects. I've seen progressives treat those conditions with patience and care. But that being given is so conditional; on how it occurs, and on how it presents.
Clearly the leftism of many of you is severely lacking. You don't really believe in rehabilitative justice, and you'd hate what criminal defense lawyers do, though everyone has a right to one.
I could unpack and give benefit of the doubt for almost everything Twomad did. Like a defense lawyer, I guess. I'd hurt myself psychologically doing that right now. But I at least want to address the Brianna Ghey incident and go from there.
As if I'd want him to die for being transphobic anyway. Speaking for us as a group so extremely like that makes us look bad. Please shut the Hell up.
Referencing something relevant to current events is not necessarily mocking in the context of psychosis. Now we have no idea how it was seen by him in that state. You need an example. When I was in psychosis, I typed "I met [fictional character] and he was BLACK. LAUGH NOW." This was my disorganized speech and thought flying purely off of word association. I had just met a doctor who I felt vaguely matched the occupation of the fictional character, and one thing I kept doing was calling people by the names of characters I associated them with. And in my mind, I was thinking, "if I phrase it this way, it's like the 'I met God, she was black' meme. Now it's in a meme format, how silly." I was chastised by chat and apologized, but lacked any ability to explain myself. It seems possible, and to me perhaps even likely, that this was only a relevant reference and not intended as mockery. He also apologized and deleted the tweet. I recovered, now I'm explaining myself. This is what you'll never get from Twomad now.
Possible starters toward understanding schizophrenia:
Vampire's Kiss (1988)
Tumblr media
Yes, I'm serious. And this was meant to be a serious film. I think if Nic Cage hadn't put on that ridiculous accent, that would've been much more effective. It was triggering for me to watch for multiple reasons. Mainly, I felt exactly what it was like to feel compelled and forced to do horrible things harassing the public due to delusion, which was then misunderstood. Because, how CAN you make people understand? When they're in the real world and you're not? Content warning for sexual assault.
Andre Thomas, sentenced to death in Texas
youtube
People keep asking, "What's the point of pleading insanity, if not for cases like this?" The kicker is, it's solely defined as whether or not the person knows what they did is wrong, but it doesn't account for so much about what delusions are and how they work. What happens in delusions is, we get an idea about how to solve a problem, even in cases where we know collateral damage will occur, then it doesn't work, we feel sorry we had to do that, and then a different idea pops up in its place. Repeat indefinitely until treated. The system as it is has practically nothing in place to give grace to those struggling with what's called "consensus reality." And it is especially cruel and unforgiving to black people, but I 'm not going to deconstruct that here.
And no, don't come at me with "I have schizophrenia and I didn't do this-or-that." Oh good for you. But I have no cookie to give. Please know that type of statement is a logical fallacy.
It's understandable if you feel safer now that he's not around. And he's no longer in mental distress. Those both are the silver linings. All I'm saying is that it shouldn't have had to take him dying, and being completely gone forever, for the threat to neutralize. I'm saying it's a waste that he couldn't get help instead, and it's a waste he'll never be able to speak for himself again in case anyone ever needed it, it's a tragedy his parents have lost a son, and I'm disappointed. I. Am. Disappointed.

hey uh i. saw your post on transandrophobia and. wanted to ask you about your version about what the man who coined that term was into because uh. every other source has been less than trustworthy.
of course, i couldn't possibly require someone to explain something to me because I'm too afraid to look into it myself so if itd be too much of a bother then i apologize.
Well it's not really 'my version' because I don't actually know or speak to Saint 🤷‍♂️
But I did investigate the source of the claims and:
Saint was talking about omegaverse and used the shorthand a/b/o to refer to the au genre without the slashes. Which unfortunately bears a striking resemblence to an anti-aboriginal slur used in Australia. Which unfortunately Saint was resistant initially when an aboriginal person protested the use of the term. The context was clear that Saint was not even talking about Australian race politics whatsoever, he was talking about how some trans mascs find omegaverse fics to be very fetishizing and triggering, and words can be spelled the same and mean entirely different things. Said blogger was not satisfied and began saying that Saint was anti-indigenous and specifically anti-black since many aboriginal people view themselves as and call themselves black.
Two black bloggers caught wind of the callout and started harassing Saint, block-dodging when he blocked them for being annoying, sending anons and dms and being increasingly aggressive on his posts. These bloggers are notorious for denying POC their identities and they did call him white several times before being corrected that he is, in fact, not white. At some point he posted saying Biden's Juneteenth announcement was too little too late and an empty gesture (which I agree btw as a black man myself, literally I don't even get paid holiday pay for it and my job is proceeding as normal so what did it actually accomplish besides lip service and more annoying bank holidays???) and they started accusing him of speaking over black people and when he blocked them *again* for that it was that he won't listen to black people.
Aka tumblr's worst whisper down the lane session because now he's dubbed as a 'violently antiblack racist' when what he did was... use an acronym that also can be a slur if the context isn't 100% clear.
In the midst of all this the original blogger that took issue with him also found his password-protected nsfw roleplay blog where he was engaging in kink-heavy roleplay with a trans woman partner. The kinks were misgendering, forced masc, cnc, and detransition with the trans woman receiving. According to a later explanation by Saint, it was *her kink* that he was performing for her, and he stopped long before being "found out" because it was becoming uncomfortable for him to continue.
In any case, it was an example of someone screenshotting someone else's private, consensual sex life that they shouldn't have seen in the first place let alone put in front of a huge audience (with minors included) in the format of a callout. Whether or not you agree with his sexual preferences is not up for debate here: the heart of the matter is that people are mad that he had ultimately consensual sex with his partner because it's not the kind of sex they think people should be having. In other words it's this meme:
Tumblr media
Except instead of Jesus it's 'judgemental assholes on the internet digging through your private life looking for something to be mad at you about'.
Lastly there's new discourse floating around that he 'admitted to being a terf' which is actually kind of hilarious because uh, no he didn't. And also a result of tumblr's worst whisper down the lane session because that's an [untrue] accusation about a DIFFERENT trans guy who once said that he discovered the feminist spaces he occupied as a minor prior to finding out he was trans were not trans friendly, and he left those spaces once he found out, but it gave him insight to how terfs become radicalized because the first instance of the word 'trans' in their discourse was also the only red flag he got before he got out. So... it's not even about Saint at all even though people are saying it's him, and the guy it IS about is also being wildly misrepresented.
Again, that's not 'my version' that's 'I reviewed the facts of the case and the verdict is: it's all very stupid'. I did at one point ask for further proof of any of this than what I could find and basically just got 'source: trust me it really happened' so 🤷‍♂️
Come on folks. I'm black. Why would I have anything to do with a guy who is *actually* anti-black?

Follow up on the Tune In ask, Thank you for your response!! And please, never apologize for the length, it was greatly insightful. I actually haven't started on the book yet but it came highly recommended to me as The definitive Beatles biography so I was looking around to see what others think of it. Most of the critical opinions I found on this site seem consistent with your criticisms especially about Lewisohn's tendency to cherry pick quotes or imposing a new context on them...
Tumblr media
Well, that formatted weird. Sorry. Anyway, I will definitely try to give as thorough an answer as I have time for, so that may mean just a few examples. If you want a deeper dive I can recommend the Another Kind of Mind Series, Fine Tuning. I don't agree entirely with their approach, but I agree for the most part with their findings and concerns, if that makes sense. And then there's Serene's blog entry which does a more thorough examination of the way Lewisohn ... hrm, shall we say, stretches citations to mean... whatever he wants.
I don't know that I am going to be able to go into quite as much detail here as I didn't keep these good notes while reading. But I can think of a few things that stuck out to me before I listened/read these other takes. And I'm happy to keep talking about this or expand, I'm not saying I don't like doing this, just that I am not gonna ... okay I'm going to write an essay? But I won't be as meticulous as I should be.
The first thing that made me stop reading and just go track down what was actually going on was a passage in which Lewisohn is talking about teen Paul's resistance to getting a job, going against Jim. From Tune In:
Paul still hated anyone telling him what to do -- 'It just never occurred to me to listen to other people' -- but when Jim insisted, sometimes Paul did as bid... as John scathingly noted. He went down to the Labour Exchange and Renshaw Hall and landed a £10-a-week Christmas-period job with SPD Ltd, Speedy Prompt Deliveries.
Now, all on its own without context this is a great Paul McCartney quote because you go, "yeah that checks out." I plan on using it as a sort of Macca meme, you know? But it was soooo Paul I thought, "wait, in what context did he say that? Like, he doesn't listen ever? He's admitting he just doesn't listen to anyone?"
So weirdly, it's not actually footnoted, but I found the source. It's a 1980 interview with Tim Rice, which is entertaining in its own right because he tells the guy who co-wrote Jesus Christ Superstar and Evita and later The Lion King that, you know, musicals are boring. Anyway, not the point.
It took me awhile to find the actual quote, because it's really a throwaway, almost self-deprecating aside, in the context of how he's listening to people more now because he's realized too many smart people just talk and it might be good to listen some.
So okay. Paul did say that, and he's admitting there was a time he didn't take the time to listen, but he's doing it in a sort of jokey way. I guess it's fair to say, generally, sure, Paul has a tendency to be headstrong and go his own way and that certainly would have been a factor in his psychological battle with Jim Mac over going to get his teaching license or whatever. It's not like Lewisohn is bending the facts of anything. It's not really a big deal. But it was the moment that clued me in that he's not necessarily using like for like. There's plenty of quotes about how Paul felt about this time in his life without using a joke from 1980 to shore up your point about his resistance to dad, in a paragraph that implies he's saying it about his resistance to dad. And when you've decide that "it just never occurred to me to listen to other people" can mean "and that's why he didn't listen to Jim about work, except this time he did," I don't know. It leaves a funny taste in my mouth because then you could use it for anything Paul decides to do differently. If that makes sense. If it applies there, it applies to anything Paul does. And Paul obviously didn't mean that in 1980.
Also maybe this is more nuanced, but while "Paul still hated anyone telling him what to do" is a true statement in any time in his life, that quote itself? Is neither necessarily relevant to being told what to do or very revealing. It actually is entirely unnecessary. The passage would be completely benign and throw me no red flags without it.
Like any of the points I make or, frankly, I've heard others make, it's less that he's saying untrue things and more that by using these citations in ways that remove them from context and add them to a different context, he is painting a picture but passing it off as fact. In addition, he often will use a quote from John's angry, Lennon Remembers period to interpret Paul's motives in the early 60s, rather than using, oh I dunno, a quote from.... Paul? Or a nicer quote from John when he's contradicted himself again? Again it's all legit sourcing and citing! But the contextualizing creates something he's selling as free of interpretation which is anything but.
The other one I've been thinking about is laid out quite well in I think episode 3 of the AKOM pod, and it's about Paul's creative development. While John's is described as original and a free spirit and rebellious in his artistic ambitions--which he was--Paul's artistic endeavors almost always come with a weasel word or caveat. What I mean is, John is always described as inventive; Paul is a gifted mimic. This despite a lot of attention paid to how John was basically copying his favorite cartoonists and artists--he even says at some point everything he does is Just William and Lewis Carroll. But somehow when he does it, it's extraordinary. He's got his own voice, while Paul is a talented parrot. Lewisohn gives props to all of Paul's many accomplishments but there's always either some kind of adjective like that to take away from it or this thing that creeps in where everything Paul does is for show. There are numerous places in Tune In where Paul is ostentatiously reading difficult books so he can be seen reading them. Anytime he's trying something new or going to explore a new art form or theater experience, Lewisohn has to point out that he wants to be seen to be doing something clever. When he writes songs, Lewisohn points out that he's not just writing songs, he's thinking about the image of being a writer or something like that. It's never because he's artistic, or likes the thing. He needs to be seen as someone liking the thing.
Now, we do have a quote from Paul about this. He does mention thinking about the image of a poet with the pipe and the leather patches, and he does at one point get a pipe and you know, famously pretend to be French to try to pull birds. (He does this again on that little week off he takes in France, years later, reminiscing about imagining he's a novelist in a cafe.) It's not that I'm saying Paul isn't capable of being pretentious! (I still have the beret I insisted on getting for my birthday when I was 16. I'm not immune. I still look great in it.) But Paul's, again, self-deprecating description of himself as a goofy teen appears to be the only 'proof' Lewisohn has that his reading, his art, his going to shows alone no one else cares about, is a pretense.
Again. It's not a huge deal and it's not like Paul didn't factually do all of this. It's that in a text that he's insisted in the front matter is free of speculation, Lewisohn's included numerous interpretations of Paul's (and others') motives without any direct proof/citation for those interpretations. That, I'm afraid, is speculative. And that's fine for an author to engage in--but he needs to be clear about it.
For the record he does this with John, too. He interprets numerous, sometimes almost contradictory actions of John's as "evidence" of his ability to lead. Sometimes he's like, in front and sometimes he's doing nothing and Lewisohn will conclude this was John also leading.
The point of all this isn't, like I said in my original post, that I think any one of these things is that bad. Paul's kinda pretentious? Maybe sometimes he did like to be seen reading War and Peace or whatever? Maybe John sitting back and watching what his mates are going to do is leadership? The problem, for me, is that it's not presented in a way that meets the premise of Lewisohn's introduction, which promises a work free of the prejudices and unsubstantiated speculation of his forebears. And I really do think that Lewisohn has convinced himself that he's done enough research and been a keen enough "Paul watcher" that it no longer counts as interpretation. I fear he may actually believe that he's done the math.
Again, I think you should read it. I loved the attention to detail and you'll get a lot out of it. But just be aware of this tendency, which I no longer think I'm imagining. And these are just the first two things I thought of and wanted to rant about.

Sebastian ruined mystreet Laurance for me.
I don't like hating on voice actors but here's a top 6 of things about Laurance that annoy me.
6. People constantly asking for Laurance and ONLY LAURANCE to come back.
5 Laurance calling Zane one eye and cyclops
4 Gene hatred, fine by itself. Annoying when the narrative afterwards pretends he is forgiving to them. "But noone is on their side" says Laurance. Zane's nmr 1 hater. The guy with NO FRIENDS AND NOONE ON HIS SIDE.
3 mocking Garroth in a minigame
2 his lack of apology on anything. He does the things Garroth does except he doesn't apologise for it. Would be fine and a great character trait. If people wouldn't claim he was a people pleaser. I am fine with Laurance being a hater. I am not fine with tiktoks using a meme format claiming Garroth is angry and Laurance is calm. Tf Garroth isn't angry?? HUH?? LAURANCE IS NOT people pleaser by the way. He is VERY stubborn across like, every season ever.
1 Calling Sasha unattractive or something along those lines. SIR WHAT. WHAT. WHAT. WHAT. That's?? How DARE he insult my wife?????? HUH??? Does he need GLASSES or something. I swear Sebastian/Laurance must be a homosexual because there's NO way that just happened.
HE CALLED SASHA UNATTRACTIVE???? DOES HE EVEN HAVE EYES???????

!!DISCORD SCAM | IMPERSONATING DISCORD EMPLOYEES | BE AWARE!!
Okay. Hello, I usually do stupid stuff on here, like memes, or fanfiction. Obviously, this post is neither. This is a warning to any Discord users of a scam, and I will provide screenshots so that people can recognize and avoid it.
For the past couple days, I have been interacting with an account impersonating one of Discord's employees, because another hacked account in my friend's list (someone I have not talked to in years) reached out to me and told me they had accidentally reported my account for scamming/hacking (ironic, but I guess they're not creative).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Initial interaction with hacked account (blue); profile obscured for protection. The account has since been blocked.)
This initial interaction did admittedly fool me within the first screenshot, because I hadn't talked to the person in years and the scammer was mimicking our past conversations, but I was skeptical of what they were asking me to do.
However, I just lost my job, have too much time on my hands, and am reckless with money. So I played along.
(Apologies for anybody confused with my behavior in the past 48 hours. Because they had access to my account, I did not know how much they could see of my activity across the servers. Ergo, I was playing up a confusion in said servers.)
The following screenshots are only portions of my interaction with the core scam account (I won't reveal information that would dox/harm me, of course). I will also explain, in great length, what it is they do, and how to recognize this scam to avoid it entirely.
THIS IS WHAT THEY DO.
Starting with the initial screenshots, I have highlighted grammatical errors that, in retrospect, do not adequately mimic how the hacked account spoke before.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The screenshot the scammer provides is of, what I suspect to be, a photoshopped email of Discord Support. However, similarly to the prior screenshot, I have highlighted the mistakes, and have supplied a screenshot of a genuine interaction with Discord Support (through a no-reply email) for comparison.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Left: Fabricated email with the following mistakes respectively: Inconsistent narrative where the receiver of this email would be the hacked account, who did the reporting; Inconsistent format/spacing with username within brackets; No period; Closes a parenthesis with a bracket; (Nitpick) In a list, “furthermore” is unnecessary; No period. Right: A legitimate email as example by Discord (for password reset).)
Once you friend the scam account, they will introduce themselves. This one is impersonating an employee of Discord.
(Given the scam account, I will unfortunately have the employee's name and profile picture up here, in case this account tries to scam again. From what I have found, this account does use public information that is visible on sites such as LinkedIn, which is specifically where I think this scammer got the information.
(As I will repeat later, DO NOT HARASS THIS EMPLOYEE. What I suspect happened is this account either a) hacked the employee's existing account, or, more realistically, b) fabricated an account using public information. As far as I'm aware, this employee has absolutely NOTHING to do with this scam, outside of being the ultimate victim throughout this. I may have lost money, and others too, but this employee's reputation is being jeopardized, so please, DO NOT ASSOCIATE HIS LEGITIMATE INTEGRITY TO WHAT HAS HAPPENED HERE.)
The following screenshots are of my interaction with this scammer. Pay attention to signs of a scam, such as grammatical errors, pressuring, and other manipulative behaviors which will also be clarified later. The other thing to pay attention to is the reason why I am writing this post in the first place:
The scammer's screenshots of Discord assets. This scammer mimics. Throughout the process, they utilize either photoshopped images of Discord's assets to give the scam a sense of legitimacy, or genuine screenshots of Discord's assets, out of context.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Screenshots of my interaction with the scammer, throughout the dialogue.)
After introducing themselves, they will ask for you to change your email and give some excuse. (By this point, I was well aware that this was a scam. Obviously, I decided to go through with it to be able to collect evidence of a scammer that impersonates Discord employees, but I made sure that I was online for as much as possible so they weren't going to try and use my account behind my back for anything.)
Because this scam account didn't actually have my email address, they had to ask me for it in order to have the email changed. Because at this point, my account wasn't actually in any threat. There was no report on my account, and, this scammer is not associated with Discord. It does not have the power to just snatch my email from me--at least, not in the manipulative strategies the scammer was employing. This strategy is low-effort, because why spend so much energy taking money when you can just ask the person themselves to do it?
The following is the emails sent once I confirmed to the scammer my (other) email address (the second was sent because I was taking too long):
Tumblr media
(Emails sent to me via scammer account mimicking Discord Support. Sections highlighted are false emails to watch for, and...an interesting timezone that is not in the US. At all.)
The moment you change the email, that is when the scam starts. Because they have it now. And what they do to simulate a "temporary suspension" is they go and change your settings to invisible, as a way to confuse you. Then, they change your name to "Temporary Suspended". (Yes, it's supposed to be Temporarily Suspended, but let's not tell them that.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Left: Me (VoltageStone, or "Temporary Suspended") in chat. Right: My profile in "Invisible" within the member list. Other profiles obscured for protection; my profile is highlighted despite being within "OFFLINE", as designed for the "Invisible" feature.)
After this, within the dialogue between you and the scam account, the scammer will tell you something along the lines of: Don't message other people, because it will, more or less, interfere with the "verification" process. In actuality, it is because they do not want you communicating with other people using your "suspended" account.
When in fact, you can talk to people when you're invisible. A suspended account means you are locked out of it, and Discord will prompt you to login again.
They will also tell you that your interactions is being monitored my management. Now, this may very well be true, but it's not Discord management, it's likely their management.
(Within this part of the process, the prior screenshot where I say "i am in hell" is the only instance I spoke in any server. Outside of that, in order to play along, I did not speak to anyone given they had access to my account, and likely could see what I would be doing. I needed them to believe I was stupid and gullible, so I kept my mouth shut and got a second account so I could talk.)
Once they have you locked in, they will prompt you to pay them whatever amount they desire. For me, it was an initial $150. When that isn't apparently "enough", they ask for more. For me, it was $450 more.
Because they had me pay through PayPal, that doesn't include tax.
Once there is the inevitable issue in the payment(s), they will try to have you pay through another service. For me, the scammer claimed that a payment of $450 did not go through on their end (lies, of course), so they had me try and use Xoom.
Thank-you Xoom for being hell on Earth, because the next 2 HOURS of attempts did not work. Every transaction was cancelled. Thanks to Xoom, and thanks to my bank account.
And now my bank is a good one, so of course, throughout the several hours, there was a constant restriction for these payments. Because a bank knows what's probably a scam. Hence the difficulty on Xoom.
However, I did want to see this through, so...there were several phone calls to my bank getting these approved. Which yes, was stressful. And I did, in fact, tell the scammer as much, both to relieve said stress, but also to see if I could scare them into slipping.
Which I did. (I am not going to advise saying you should tell them that you "have already been suicidal" (I'm not), but it did the trick. The scammer slipped and forgot to format their replies.)
Tumblr media
(A scammer told me to "calm down" after I "admitted" to being suicidal. Again, I am not. I wanted this scammer to panic. And they did.)
After Xoom didn't work out, we went back to PayPal, where a second $450 payment was made.
Essentially, what this scammer did was they had me pay a $150. It was conveniently "not enough" because...my account was more expensive, given the amount of time I have been on it, so the total value I had to give in order to "verify" was $600--or, $450 more was needed. There was (genuine) difficulty in one attempt for the $450, and it was refunded, so another attempt was given. This attempt went through on my end, because...it did go through, but it "didn't on their end." So, this scammer created a little ring of chaos to try and distract me from what was paid, had me go through Xoom, and tried to get me to pay there. When that didn't work, we went back to PayPal, where another $450 was given. After they swindled their money, they feigned difficulty with PayPal security, realized I was going to do something because I did catch on, and have since then not been active on this account. Their username was marked with "[Scammer]". And that's that.
By the end of this, I lost $1k. ...which is my bad, but whatever. That's on me. I realized I would be losing money from being a little rat pea brained investigator.
I do have my Discord account back, largely because I was able to let Discord support know of the scam, so as far as I'm aware, Discord does know about this. (I got a bot response immediately, and then someone from Discord Trust & Safety restored the email, and thusly the account, within 3 minutes. The authentic email that I used to compare to the scam's email is from this interaction.)
Be aware of this scam. It is best to avoid it entirely.
AKA, don't do what I did. It is financially dangerous, and just plainly reckless.
Part of why I did this is because I'm impulsive, but also, I had not seen any accounts across any platforms (primarily Reddit) report this specific scam. It may be a known thing, but I wasn't able to find anything easily. Therefore, it's not known enough. So, I wanted to ensure that this was legitimately a scam, and moreover, that I would get confirmation by the end.
Which I did. Because the scammer, once they were done with being a scammer with their kooky little account, changed their username.
Tumblr media
(Again. Do not harass this employee by the same name. As far as I'm aware and understand what happened, this was impersonation. Whether it be a hacked account, or an account created to mimic, I don't know. The employee has nothing to do with this.)
After this, for a little bit, there was nothing. However, as I was writing this very post, a development:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Left: Scammer email contacts me with following mistakes respectively: Fraud email address; Pressuring to spread this scam by “reminding everyone(?)” (I don’t know how this “everyone” is); Interesting date and time for San Fransisco, California on the day of our lord and savior, January 24th; Wrong amount of money that does not align with the $1096 I calculated; No period; I unsubscribed to Nitro, actually, so there really is no “subscription” here. Right: PayPal informing me that one of the accounts (in which two payments were granted) declined my request for refund.)
(This is one of the accounts used for the scam. Be wary of this when using PayPal.)
That is correct. Almost simultaneously, the scammer sent over an email discussing...that, and PayPal informed me that part of the refund which the scammer "agreed" to was declined.
Um. Yeah I laughed. I will have to be diligent tomorrow to see what exactly they will do, since I suspect tomorrow something will come up. Or they just...miscalculated time for California? It's not even 2pm in the Philippines.
I also think they miscalculated the money. Despite me calculating it myself and providing the number within our interaction, but okay.
Fortunately, I have ensured some semblance of safety. I've pulled my card information from anything, and have changed the account username and password as well. So unless they somehow got access to my account, there's none of this "subscription" going on.
Now, if something does happen, I will add to this post in an edit. Just so that people are made quite aware of what scams can do.
Regardless of my present situation, here are some things you can take from this.
A FEW WAYS TO SPOT A SCAMMER:
If an account you have not spoken to reaches out (particularly someone who've you have never met irl), be cautious. Search for any discrepancies in how they type (even though a scammer can mimic, there will be differences in "speech" patterns).
Be wary of constant grammatic, syntax, and/or spelling errors--errors which a nonprofessional would make. (This is usually the first clear sign of a scam, in part because a lot of scammers tend to be non-native **English speakers, from other countries, but also because they don't care and are negligent so long as they're getting away with the scam.)
Pay attention to any email addresses sent to you. If it looks weird and unprofessional, it probably is. A prime reason why there's so much graphic design in many company emails is for this very reason: to confirm that it is (likely) genuine. It's not just to look cute.
If they ask for money and "promise" a refund, no. Just no. Don't believe that.
If said money is to a different country, be wary. Here are some known countries that scammers come from, with their currency:
Format Reference: United States of America ($ ; USD) Brazil (R$ ; BRL) India (₹ ; INR) China (¥ ; CNY) Pakistan (Rs ; PKR) Nigeria (₦ ; NGN) Venezuela (Bs ; VES) South Africa (R ; ZAR) Romania (lei ; RON) Philippines (₱ ; PHP) - This is the origin for this specific scam.
If any "support" of a company you are an active consumer of has to ask for your email to continue with any process, it is fraud. In the beginning, Discord already had the appropriate email address to reach out to me.
Lastly, if they are marked as "[Scammer]" at the end of the scam, they are a scammer. And this is them laughing at you.
**This does not just happen with English speakers. Generally speaking, scams of this nature will try to target people outside of their country, because they like to use the difference in laws, timezones, etc. as a shield. So regardless of the language, do pay attention to language errors. It's a sign of either a scammer who does not care, or someone who is unfortunately illiterate.
As far as this post goes, that is all I have. I myself was very reckless in this endeavor, but I do hope that people see this and avoid doing the same thing I did--unknowingly or otherwise. Again, I will urge you to not do this. Don't. Do not. Just avoid scams.
To spread this message, reblog if you can, and tag any fandoms that you are in (especially if there are Discord servers) so that people who are in fandom servers can know. Post this in Discord servers. Cross-post this in other sites, such as Reddit or Twitter. Just get it out there so that people are aware of the scam, or ones like this.
If you would like to add anything to this, whether it be specific to this scam, or just general advice, please add onto this post.
This scam is malicious, both for Discord users, and those who work for the company.
Thank-you for your time,
V. Stone
