Akira Oono from Hi-Score Girl

1. She’s Nonverbal

Akira never really speaks throughout the series, except for maybe one or two exceptions.

2. She has a big special interest in video games

Video games are her main form of connecting with the other characters, and bring her immense joy. She often uses them to help cheer her up and tends to hyperfocus while playing them a lot.

3. She has shutdowns and meltdowns.

She’s been shown to shutdown after a lot of school work. She also has issues expressing big emotions often ending up in meltdowns where she gets angry and punches things.

4. She gets confused by certain social situations

She is fairly ostracised for how she communicates. Sometimes she misreads certain situations and people often see her as mysterious and intimidating. Once her intimidating shell is off though, she comes off as a little awkward, but genuine nonetheless. (same)

She is also super smart and top of her class :)

Karakterleri ve bu karakterlerin  arasındaki ilişkileri ele alışı sayesinde izleyiciyi  sürekli tebessüm ettiren,  90′lar arcade ruhunu enfes bir şekilde resmeden melankoli kaynağı bir anime  hi(gh) score girl. Son yirmi yılda oldukça değişmiş ve teknolojik olarak daha hızlı gelişmiş bir dünyada, görece olarak imkanların daha sınırlı olduğu  bir döneme yolculuğu, ilk evre ergenlik ve lise dönemi  romantizmiyle harmanlamış bir yapım ayrıca.

Dünyaya dair her keşfin ayrı bir heyecan kaynağına dönüştüğü o tatlı gençlik  döneminin merkezinde, oyunlardan başka bir dünyası olmayan bir orta okul öğrencisi ve onun arcade oyunlardaki rakibi Akira Ono (high score girl) ile 91 yılında başlıyor hikaye. İlk bölümde verdiği keyif sebebiyle de 15 bölümlük ilk sezon 3-4 yıllık bir zaman diliminde hiç sıkmadan akıp gidiyor.  İkinci sezonda ise değişen bölüm öncesi ve sonrası jeneriklerle beraber  karakterlerin daha olgun lise dönemine şahit oluyoruz. Ve nihayetinde 90′lar bitmeden önce de bu tatlı hikaye  sona eriyor.

Dünyada 80′lerle başlayan popüler kültür patlaması çoğu otorite tarafından da kabul  edildiği üzere  90′larda en olgun meyvelerini vermiştir şüphesiz. İşte tam da bu yüzden, o olgun dönemin ruhunu oldukça başarılı bir şekilde ekrana taşıyor bu anime. Üstelik bunu sadece arcade oyunları ve o döneme damga vurmuş arcade salonları vesilesiyle yapıyor. Hatta ilk dönem ev oyun konsollarıyla da bunu destekliyor. Dizide  görünen en tanıdık oyunlardan ikisi  street fighter ve final fight. Bu iki baba oyunun  karakterlerini  oyun sahnelerinde ve sürpriz enstanteler içinde görmek müthiş eğlenceli bir deneyime dönüşüyor. (Özellikle Yaguchi Haruo’nun bir nevi iç  sesi olarak görünen Guile, oyundaki rolunü aşıp muazzam bir karaktere bürünüyor :)

Son olarak, ilk sezon boyunca her bölüm sonunda çalan o efsane jenerik parçasına  bir parantez açmak istiyorum. Zira bu enfes  japonca parça her dinlendiğinde animenin verdiği  o coşkuyu sürekli  taze tutuyor.

a little over a month after max ended things with lucas a girl in her spanish class aproched her and asked if “lucas sinclar” is single. apparently she thinks he’s cute and has seen them hanging out. “no, he isn’t single” is what max wants to say because if she sticks to her plan of mourning their relationship for the rest of high school so should he, even if max was the one who broke it off. but max is a good person so she says “yeah he’s single.” but not that good so she adds “he just got out of a relationship though, and he’s not over her” and since she’s already crossed that first line “i actually wouldn’t even try.”

max only lasts an hour or two before she feels so guilty she tells lucas there’s a girl in her spanish class that he should ask out cause she thinks he’s cute. lucas is a little offended that his ex is trying to play matchmaker on principle but also because he was sort of planning on mourning his and max’s relationship for the rest of high school

my football team is so hopeless

#not dortmund lol i mean the club i play at myself #it makes me want to quit ngl #there are just so many things i'm fed up with #at times it's not fun anymore #i like playing football but there's just a lot wrong with this team #but i'm mostly just hanging around because i don't want to let my coach down like he cares and genuinly seems like a good coach #the only thing which gives me a bit of hope #and i hate letting people down 😅 that and also i hate giving up #but i have never seen a team more hopeless or felt more hopeless playing a sport 😅 #and he apparently thinks i'm kind of important to the team which i kind of get but also it doesn't really make a difference... #we're just so hopeless i can’t turn this around lol #i always start and i hope it continues but there's not much i can do #we just have too many people who don't care last match so many have given up #some of our team just refuse to run or move at some point it's awful #like why can't you try #we always loose so high like what's the point but still don't give up #besides that the endurance (and also sprint speed) of most is awful which could be trained to a point #but whenever the coach tries to do that almost no one shows up 💀 #and i usually play wing or outside midfielder but i'm supposed to also be a defender apparently what #whenever we get a goal on my side and i'm not back in defence someone moans at me like that's my fault #i get working back but i can’t be everywhere especially when some people don't move #and i actually try to get the ball foreward or try to get the ball back in the front because i don't give up when we're behind #i want to score goals and not settle with loosing and only sit back to do defence anymore #naturally there will be open spaces when i try to do that but how is giving up better even when it's hopeless we could still try scoring #and i can't be everywhere they should try my position they would never last 90min running like i do #besides i'm already exausted each week from my training before like i do sports 2-3 hours 6 or 7 days a week #unfortunately i have to because once again i'm trying some entrance exam (for sports to become a teach in sports and english hopefully) #asides from that i don't like most of the people at my club 😅 it feels a bit like highschool again and i didn't like highschool #so many are ignorant and judgemental #like the girl i told you about with her comment about the cleaning lady instead of wanting to clean up her stuff herself 🙄
