Valentine's Day Special: Let Them Fight
GN!Reader x Malleus Draconia vs. Azul Ashengrotto vs. Vil Schoenheit Word Count: 5.3k
Summary: Who knew that in a world of magic, and mayhem, and outright villainy, that it'd be something as stupid as Valentine's Day that would push these idiots over the edge. Or, Malleus, Azul, and Vil go to war over some chocolates
A/N: This MC/Plot takes place in the Heroes vs Villains universe -- specifically Post-Staff's route, rather than any of our other lovely idiot husbands.
Tumblr media
There was always some sort of strange overlap of customs from your world to this one. Halloween seemed to have survived more or less intact (even if it was a bit more, uh, extreme than the subtle evening of giving out treats and dressing as ghosts that you remembered). Winter Holidays were still very much a Thing, even if all other connotations had been stripped from them. Moreover, it was like someone had taken your familiar Earthen calendar and just sort of… mirrored it. Distorted it a bit. Just a lil’ bit more chaos than would have been socially acceptable back home.
So when you made a sly little joke about stocking up on discount chocolates after the Valentine’s Day rush and no one laughed—not even a little chortle, or an irritable eyeroll—you initially thought it was maybe to do with the irrationality of Sam’s Shop ever having a sale to begin with. You had not assumed that, you know, there was no Valentine’s Day at all.
“It’s an important holiday, then? Where you’re from?” Azul mused, busy scribbling endless, chicken scratch, notes in the margins of some form that was probably very important.
“I mean, not really,” you frowned, tossing your Mostro-Branded apron onto its hook. “Maybe. Yes? I don’t really know, actually.”
He hummed and moved to push his glasses back up the bridge of his nose. “Well, whatever it is, I’m always looking for new events to host at the Lounge. What exactly is it?”
“It’s a sort of special day for couples. Romance. Lovey-dovey nonsense,” you shrugged, and watched Azul’s finger slip off the slick metal frame of his glasses and nearly take his eye out. You waved off his obvious disgust with a dramatic sigh (I mean, why else would he be so stiff and red?). “Yeah, yeah. I know. It’s ridiculous.”
“I—I never said that!” he spluttered, and then paused to cough into his fist and clear his throat. “It just—I just wasn’t expecting something like that to…”
“Exist?”
He grinned, wry. His cheeks were still a bit too pink. “Precisely.”
“You would have loved my world,” you said. “Very capitalistic. Lots of cash-grab holidays like that.”
Azul laughed.
“I’m sure I would be fond of any place you came from.” He paused, and his expression puckered up a bit miserably—like he really hadn’t intended to express such a sentiment aloud. But he managed to smooth the sharp line of his frown back into that usual, smarmy, smirk of his easily enough. “But either way! Tell me more!” he grinned, reaching forward to grab a stack of blank paper and a fresh pen. “I’d love to hear all about it.”
.
.
The next day you were supposed to help the Drama Club start building some stage scenery for their newest play. It was proper grunt work, which was perhaps the only sort of work you were actually qualified for. And Vil always made sure that there were plenty of disgustingly healthy but still quite tasty snacks available for the help to munch on. The food spread alone would have been worth the trip, but on top of that, Vil had made you promise. Practically a blood oath, binding you and your meager free time to the shitty supply closet in the corner of the Auditorium. And as sour as he could be sometimes, you really could never say no to him when he always looked so heart meltingly fond whenever you did agree to while away the hours at his side. That lovely face and even lovelier smile of his were fucking lethal. A war crime, surely, to use it against someone as plain and susceptible to bribery as you were.
But today you were now an idiot on a mission—an idiot determined to spread the joy of a trashy holiday that really probably shouldn’t exist in the first place, let alone in a world where people worshipped storybook villains as veritable deities. And you’d already bought all the molds, and the trays, and you really didn’t have a lot of spare pocket money to begin with, so letting this investment go to waste would not only be a shame, but a terrible business investment.
“What do you mean you’re not coming,” Vil sneered, glaring down his perfectly straight nose at you.
“I really am sorry,” you said, mostly genuine. “But I have something I need to do this afternoon.”
“You’ve made other plans?” he frowned, something a little too unsettled to fit with his usual regality twisting across his expression.
“I have to get ready for Valentine’s Day,” you explained, and his brow tugged down further. Though that earlier twinge of panic seemed to have vanished at least. You pointedly shook your grocery bag full of goodies. “I’m going to make chocolates for everyone.”
“Chocolates?” Vil echoed, confused.
You nodded. “It’s a tradition back home. You give stuff like candy and flowers to the people you care about. Normally it’s a holiday for couples, or whatever. But. Well…”
The ‘I Am Fully Aware That I’m Single as a Pringle, Please Just Let Me Have This One Thing’ was left unsaid, but it hung in the air around your head like a very persistent storm cloud nonetheless. Vil, magnanimously, seemed perfectly happy to ignore the Woe Is Me implications spewing from your mouth. Instead, he leaned forward until he was dipping precariously close into your personal space. His amethyst eyes had lit with blatant interest at your ramblings, and he hummed low in his throat.
“Is that so?” he mused, gaze lidded and warm. “That sounds… intriguing.”
You nodded past the heady scent of his cologne fogging your head. What was it with attractive people, huh? It was so unfair. You don’t get to look and smell good. Pick a lane. Save some dignity for the rest of us.
“So, I promise I’ll help another day. I just have a feeling making chocolates is going to wind up being a lot harder than I think it will.”
Because that’s how it always went in your stupid slice-of-life shows. The poor, harried, protagonist thinking they’re doing a good deed—painstakingly constructing their own, special, homemade goodies for all their important people. Making them with love. And then having it all blow up in their face like a goddamn, cocoa flavored, nuke. Nope. Not you, motherfucker. Your chocolates were going to be divine. You were going to take every, tropey, precaution in the book. And that of course included allotting yourself ample time to make mistakes your masterpiece.
“Of course,” Vil grinned. “How could I possibly begrudge you for wanting to spend your time on something so heartfelt?”
“Thank you,” you blurted, relived. Because at least he got it. Azul had been so ridiculously insistent that you should prepare all your Valentine’s Day wishes as a team. Which was not the point. He’d spent hours last night trying to wheedle his way into your plans—with endless platitudes about ‘business partners always being there for each other,’ and ‘how would he know if he was celebrating to your standards if he wasn’t given a model to work off of first?’ Utter bullshit. He’d probably just wanted free labor.
“Tomorrow, then?” Vil beamed and you nodded.
“Tomorrow,” you confirmed.
“Well, then,” he hummed. “I better get to work as well. I suppose the scenery can wait.”
You nodded in farewell and began the trek back to Ramshackle and its marginally functional kitchens. You hadn’t realized Vil was taking on any new projects, but if it was enough to have him putting off the Club’s activities as well then it must have been pretty important. Maybe he’d get you tickets to it whenever he finished—whatever it was. If there were tickets? How did any of the things he did actually work? Hell if you knew.
.
.
Making chocolates was, in fact, a laughably easy endeavor. And you found yourself cursing every goddamn Shoujo Bullshit Manga under the sun for leading you to think otherwise. The hardest part of the entire thing was fighting off Grim and his wandering paws.
You made up some basic truffles which were, again, stupidly simple. Just some messily chopped chocolate, cream, and a little splash of vanilla to make it Special. Once those were shaped into messy blobs, you dipped them into some more melted chocolate and bam. That was it. That was literally it. You felt like a genius—sitting there mushing up balls of cocoa like high-end playdough.
By 6PM, you had all your little darlings tucked into the refrigerator to harden, all the gauzy, red, boxes lined up on your counter and ready to be filled, and Grim had been placated with an offering of all your dirty mixing bowls. The tiny, demonic, beast was passed out at the dingy kitchen table—one of said bowls wedged onto his head like an astronaut’s helmet. Hopefully it was just a food coma and not, like, an actual coma-coma. Real cats couldn’t eat chocolate, but Grim never really seemed real at all. So hopefully he’d be fine.
You wiped down your cooking space once, twice. Paced up and down the narrow hallway until you were wearing away the already threadbare rugs, and spent way too long just standing in front of the fridge—staring in on your chocolates like a psychotic kidnapper scoping out their next victims.
Eventually you realized that you maybe needed to do something with your evening that wasn’t just creeping on your confections, and set out into the frosty, night, air for a stroll.
Which is, of course, where you ran into your familiar, horned, friend—staring up into the starry sky in a wistful manner that darkened his pale complexion into something nearly ominous. He always looked a bit like that, like something unearthly and detached from the rest of the world.
“Tsunotarou!” you chirped happily, and that adrift-at-sea expression of his melted right off his face.
“Child of Man,” he greeted, inclining his head politely. “I wasn’t expecting to see you this evening.” His brow furrowed, almost confused. “Is it not too cold for you?”
Your breath was, in fact, fogging in front of your face. And you couldn’t really feel your toes anymore. But the electric anticipation of tomorrow was keeping you warm enough. Even if only in spirit.
“I’m fine, I’m fine,” you waved him off. And then, because you couldn’t help yourself, you leaned forward on your tippytoes and blurted out, “Happy Almost Valentine’s Day!”
“Valentine’s Day?” Malleus repeated back at you, looking like you’d just handed him an unsolvable differential equation.
“It’s a holiday from back home,” you explained for the umpteenth time that day. “And normally I’m not too fussed about it, but this year I’m really excited to give everyone their chocolates!” You grinned. “And you too, of course. I have to make sure I give them to all my important people.”
The furrow between his brows vanished, but the blatant, gaping, confusion remained. He looked like you’d nearly startled him into an early grave.
“I am one of your most important people?” he asked, slow as a tortoise making its way up an incline.
You nodded cheerfully, still bellied by your earlier culinary successes and excellent mood. “Of course you are! We’re friends, aren’t we? And besides. Valentine’s Day is for showing people how much you care about them.”
“What an interesting concept,” he mused, bringing a finger up to tap at his chin. “To think your world had such a heartfelt tradition—it’s quite a lovely surprise.”
You laughed. “If you think the chocolates are special, you should see what some couples do for each other. Rooms full of flowers, fancy date nights—I’m just managing the bare minimum.”
“Couples?” he echoed, and you felt the first teeny, hot, thread of chagrin work its way past your enthusiasm.
“Well, normally Valentine’s Day focuses on, like, romantic things,” you said, averting your gaze just in time to miss the tension lance through his shoulders. “But it can be for all sorts of affection!” you hastily added.
“Is that so…” the Prince hummed. He lifted his pensive gaze once more and stared you down with that weighted intensity that you’d only just recently learned how not to buckle beneath. “And you wish to celebrate this day. With me?”
“…you don’t mind, do you?” you asked, hesitant.
“Of course not, Child of Man,” he beamed, his lips curling up into a smile that put all his too-sharp teeth on display. “But you’ll have to excuse me now, I’m afraid. It seems I have some preparations to undertake this evening.”
“Oh,” you blinked. “Alright. I’ll see you tomorrow, then.”
“Yes,” Malleus said. “You will.”
.
.
It was officially Valentine’s Day, and you were ready to begin your mission of forcing your sweets onto every, single, one of your reluctant friends. Let them be pissy and tsundere. You weren’t afraid to weep and proclaim your undying, shounen-talk-no-jutsu, levels of friendship. Okay. Maybe you were a little. But these grouchy bastards had very easily become your grouchy bastards, and so help you God, they would suffer under your affection and they would like it.
There were plenty of small boxes—all nice, neat, corners with little bows perched on top. But you had also prepared a singular, larger, tray. It was cleaner cut than the rest, with bold, contrasting, colors and a simple elegance. You stared it down with a strange sort of disquiet brewing in your gut. Maybe you were being presumptuous. Goodness knows you’d more than dealt with the searing, emotionally destructive, consequences of that before. But all the same…
You squared your shoulders and spent a moment convincing yourself that your spine was quite sturdy—a proper, titanium, support system—and then popped the Big Box into the bag with the others.
Your first stop was Heartslabyul, and you burst through the ornate, crimson, doors like a manic home invader.
“I come bearing gifts,” you proclaimed, merrily doling out the boxes to your favorite idiot duo. You set three more aside, with little labels for Riddle, Trey, and Cater respectively. Normally you wouldn’t trust a dorm full of teenage boys not to devour any scrap of unattended food in sight, but Riddle had long since struck the fear of God into these poor lads. So you figured it’d be safe.
Deuce’s face lit up and he accepted the chocolate with near starry-eyed enthusiasm.
“Are these your holiday presents? Like the Santa Claus?” he asked, looking very much like a bouncy golden retriever preparing itself for congratulatory head pats.
You leaned forward with an indulgent huff to give him his pats. “No. But close enough.”
You pawned off three boxes on Ruggie when he tried to duck past you in the hallway—one for him, one for Leona, and one extra as payment for making him do your dirty work of playing delivery boy to Mister Grump in the first place. You slipped Jack his on the way into Trein’s morning lecture, and managed to press a box into Jamil’s hands before he slunk off to the library. Kalim cheered so loudly when you handed him one that your ears started to ring.
And then trouble arrived in the form of two, slippery, eels draping themselves across your shoulders. Normally the destructive duo seemed to act on their own prerogative, but on this fortuitous morning their Lord and Master was surprisingly not too far behind.
“Shrimpy!~” Floyd trilled, dragging you into a one-armed hug that was really more of a slightly-less-aggressive headlock than anything else. “Azul says you came up with this stupid holiday! And he made us work all day yesterdayto put together stuff for the Lounge! It’s not fair!”
Your legs shook under the weight of the new tumor that had made its home on your back.
“Now, Floyd,” Jade chirped. All finely manicured cruelty. “If you’re to blame anyone for going overboard with this entire situation, you ought to lay the fault on our fearless leader.” His bi-colored eyes flashed, amused. “Isn’t that right, Azul?”
Said ‘fearless leader’ looked like he was sucking on a lemon. He glared bitterly at his subordinate, seeming to share an entire, silent, argument with him, before turning back on you with a heavy sigh and the barest hint of angry flush in his cheeks.
“Prefect,” he grinned past his obvious discomfort, all sparkling, white, teeth. “I have to thank you for sharing so much information about this ‘Valentine’s Day’ of yours. It’s such a unique event, and it seems like our preparations at the Lounge are already being received incredibly well.”
“That’s good,” you nodded, trying and failing to shrug the Leech off your shoulders. “I’m glad I could help.”
Azul hummed under his breath, his eyes darting away for a moment. His glasses reflected the muted light of the hall in an odd way—making it difficult to read his expression. He cleared his throat and when he looked back up at you, the tips of his ears had gone pink.
“You’re more than welcome to come by, of course,” he beamed, suave as could be.
“I mean,” you blinked. “I would hope so. I work there.”
Floyd let out a bark of laughter and Jade snickered into his glove. The pleasant pink tinting Azul’s skin was heating to a near sunburned red. He looked down and coughed into his fist.
“Yes…” he mumbled. “I—I’m aware. But what I meant is… What I meant—” He frowned. It was a tight, pouty, little thing that scrunched up his entire face. That mottled red had spread to the bridge of his nose.
“I do believe what Azul is trying to say,” Jade stepped in, clearly taking some sort of pity on his tongue-tied friend. Or perhaps pity was the wrong word for it, seeing how smug he looked, “is that he would like to invite you to the event personally. As an honored guest, not an employee.”
“Oh,” you blinked, startled. Then hesitated, cautious on instinct. There was always some sort of catch to the Octomer’s kindness. “I don’t know if I could afford whatever fancy thing you’ve thrown together.”
“You wouldn’t be paying for it,” Azul assured you, some of that sickly flush having finally started to recede from his cheeks. You hoped he was feeling alright. “You’ve contributed more than enough for the day. It would be on the house.”
Jade loudly cleared his throat and Azul huffed, eyes sliding away yet again.
“I would be paying,” he finally mumbled. And then, even quieter, “As I believe is the custom.”
Just as you were about to thank him for his startling bought of generosity (and also ask after his health, because between the weird, pink, tinge to his skin and the aforementioned generosity, clearly somethingwas out of sorts with him), you noticed a sneaky hand working its way into your bag of goodies, and you immediately were on the defensive.
“Hey!” you snapped, spinning out of Floyd’s stranglehold. “You only get one!”
“Then I want the really big one!” he demanded, making grabby motions at it.
“No!” you squeaked, and clutched it protectively to your chest. The trio looked at you with varying degrees of surprise and you cleared your throat awkwardly. “This one—This one is special.”
“Oh?” Jade cooed, eyes flickering back towards Azul, who seemed determined to look absolutely anywhere else. “Is it now?”
“Awww,” Floyd whined. “That’s no fair! Who’s it for, anyways?!”
You gripped the box tighter and now it was your turn to stiffly avert your eyes down to the ugly carpet. “It’s not—I’m not—” you cleared your throat and forced the jitter from your voice. “I’m not ready to give it to him yet.”
The silence that followed was absolutely the worst thing you’d experienced in a long, long, time. Overblots and all. You could practically hear your blood pounding in your ears. You were just about to turn and beat a hasty retreat when a familiar, snappish, voice called your name from the other side of the corridor.
“There you are, potato,” Vil huffed, coming to stand at your side and bodily inserting himself between you and your tormentors. He met Azul’s petulant sneer with a frankly terrifying one of his own. “What are you doing here? I thought we agreed you’d be eating lunch with me today.”
You remembered no such thing, but if it got you out of this verbal minefield of a conversation, you were more than willing to take the claim at face value.
“Apologies,” Azul cut in with all his usual, mafioso, flair. “But the Prefect will be taking their afternoon meal at the Mostro Lounge today.”
“Is that so?” Vil hummed, sounding positively venomous.
“Unless you think you can make an offer good enough to sway them otherwise,” Azul chirped, equally as unpleasant.
Vil laughed—cold and sharp as crystal. It was the most elegant display of blatant irritation you’d ever seen.
“Of course you’d only consider this entire situation on a transactional basis,” he drawled, entirely unimpressed. Azul flinched and his expression screwed up into something near petulant. “I would expect no less. Are you planning to lock them into a contact too, hmm? Sign away everything in formal, sterile, terms?” Vil crossed his arms, and you were reminded sharply once more how very, very lucky you were to not be on his bad side (even if you hadn’t realized before all this that Azul apparently was on said bad side. You had no idea they disliked each other so terribly). “I really hadn’t expected you to have a single, romantic, bone in your body, and yet somehow I’m still disappointed to be proved so entirely correct.”
Azul looked ready to explode, and even though Jade and Floyd and melted back into the shadows at the start of this entire encounter, the pair of them were starting to look a bit murderous too—like sharks lazily circling the dark, ocean, depths.
“Don’t you think you deserve better?” Vil asserted, turning back to face you with a soft cant of the head. You blinked back in shock.
“Uh,” you gaped, absolutely fucking lost.
And then, like a beacon of unrivaled, black-drenched, hope, you spotted Malleus making his way down the hallway. He was flanked by his trio of housemates-cum-pseudo-bodyguards. Normally you tried to leave him alone when his rabid, green-haired, guard dog was yipping at his heels, and on top of that, the idea of using your classmates’ ingrained fear of the Fae Prince to your own advantage upset your rather staunch sensibilities. But this was an emergency.
“Tsunotarou!” you called, and it absolutely sounded like the cry for help it was.
He perked up immediately and you watched him nearly crash to a standstill. And then his sharp, neon, gaze locked on the dueling Housewardens circling you like a pair of snapping wolves, and his merry expression shuttered into something positively glacial. Which was—Fuck. I mean. Come on. What the fuck was going on today—
“Child of Man,” he droned, crossing the short distance with all the grace of the near-mythical, arcane, master that he was. His posture was more collected and regal than you’d ever seen it, and he loomed all the taller for it.
Azul and Vil had gone tense at your side, one certainly more so than other. The Octomer looked incredibly unsettled at Malleus’s sudden arrival, but Vil just looked angrier. It was the sort of unpleasantness that bloomed whenever someone challenged him or his competencies over and over—inevitably pushing the normally composed beauty into an indignant rage.
“Happy Day of Valentine’s,” Malleus continued, slotting himself firmly into the veritable territory dispute going down. “Are you quite alright?”
No, you wanted to wail. No! I’m so confused! I have no idea what’s going on! I just wanted to give my friends chocolates!
But you never managed to get those words or any others past your lips, because Sebek Zigvolt shot to his master’s side with all the speed of the lightning for which he was so named, and immediately began to scream.
“HOW DARE YOU INTERRUPT THE YOUNG MASTER’S AFTERNOON ROUTINE!” he shrieked at the top of his very impressive lungs.
You weren’t sure if he was howling at you (very likely) or just anyone who wasn’t Malleus, but Jade took the opportunity to slink forward from the shadows with a sharp tut-tut.
“Perhaps none of you deserve the Prefect’s special attentions,” he piped in, sounding very much like someone intentionally throwing a cannister of gasoline onto an already roaring fire. “Or any chocolates at all—let alone the ones set aside for someone special.”
At this, silence once more rang through the corridor and you wanted to throttle that stupid eel.
“There is a special box?” Malleus asked first, brow shooting up as his expression tugged with… something.
“I—I mean, I made all of yours special!” you defended, holding the wrapped treasure tightly to your chest. “But… I guess. Yes. There’s one that’s a little bigger than the others.”
At this, all three Housewardens exchanged pointed looks.
Jade smiled serenely once more, and then continued his absolute massacre upon your person.
“Yes, indeed,” he nodded. “And our dearest Prefect only just mentioned that—hmm. How did you word it? Ah. That’s right. ‘I’m not ready to give it to him yet.’”
The trio tensed. All looking absolutely ready to pounce. At—at what, you had no idea.
“Perhaps,” the wretch mused, “it would be best for you all to temper your rage until the victor is decided, hmm?” He paused to tap at his chin for a moment, and then his lips split into a mean, jagged, grin. “Afterwards? Well, I suppose that whole cheery sentiment about ‘love and war’ still holds true.”
You gulped, feeling startlingly like Jade had just tried to serve you up on a silver platter.
But when neither Azul, Vil, or Malleus made any further moves to murder each other… well. As sacrificial as it all felt, at least it must have worked.
The rest of the day passed in a tense sort of fugue. You certainly hadn’t expected your attempts at bringing some holiday cheer to Night Raven to go so… Uh…
But either way, you managed to survive through the rest of the afternoon, and before you knew it, all that remained of all your tireless efforts and good will was the Special Box. The big one. The one that you’d put together with extra care and hopes for better things. You glared down at it for a moment, feeling sweat starting to bead over your palms. But you couldn’t chicken out now. Not after you’d come so far! Everyone was acting so strange, and it was all so weird. And as much as that unfamiliarity had your teeth on edge and your hackles raised, you didn’t want to regret not giving out the last of your well-made sweets.
Well, here goes nothing, you frowned. You took a deep breath, willed yourself to be brave, and smiled your biggest smile.
“Here,” you beamed, more than a little shy and still a bit horrified by whatever pissing match had been going down earlier in the day, and finally offered the grandest of your chocolate boxes to the man standing opposite you.
Divus Crewel accepted your offering daintily, plucking at the crisp, sharp, wrapping with his crimson gloves. He arched one of his thin brows at you and you fought the nervous heat rising in your cheeks.
“Happy Valentine’s Day,” you blurted. “I know it’s not a thing here, but I thought it’d be nice.”
The second eyebrow joined the first—practically jumping all the way up into his fringe.
“I appreciate the gesture. Though from what I understand of all the garish advertising I’ve seen for Mostro Lounge’s new event, I assumed this was a holiday for romantic overtures,” he intoned, wry.
You spluttered and waved your hands furiously. “I mean! Normally! Yes! But also…” You trailed off, fighting the urge to fidget. “If you don’t have a—a, well, someone, then Valentine’s is just a nice excuse to give something to people you care about.” You averted your gaze and lost the battle to twist your fingers into your jacket sleeves. “My family used to give me chocolates every year. So. I thought I could… Well…” you trailed off on a grumble, embarrassed.
Crewel sighed and popped the lid off the box. He plucked two truffles from their casing—keeping one for himself and handing you the other.
“Well, then. A very happy Valentine’s to you, Prefect,” he droned and popped the chocolate into his mouth with a thoughtful hum.
You lit up like a Christmas tree and happily gobbled up your own treat. So distracted were you by the one-two-punch combo of the delicious sugar and even sweeter taste of your Professor’s approval that you almost entirely missed the pointed glare he shot over your shoulder.
“I appreciate your regard,” he said, loud. Sharp. And like he wasn’t talking to you at all. “And while I’m certain that if you do pick a ‘someone’ for yourself to celebrate with in the following years, they’ll have to work very hard to be worthy of such a gift, hmm?” His lip curled unpleasantly, in direct contrast to the indulgent warmth that had been tugging at his expression only a moment before. “I could hardly allow you to waste such a thoughtful gesture on someone unworthy.”
The Octavinelle Housewarden had the decency to look at least a little panicked—his face going pale and gaunt from where he was shrinking into his high collar. There was a frantic look about him, like he was trying to weigh the cost-benefit ratio of going up against his professor in his head, and realizing that he was stupidly, willfully, walking right into a lose-lose situation. And that, sadly—miserably—he was going to keep doing just that. The other two, however, looked entirely undeterred. Schoenheit curled his lip right back at him, more than ready to duke it out here and now, and Crewel fought the urge to remind the blonde that he was the adult in this situation, thank you very much. The adult who could very well revoke the Warden’s access to his Alchemy Labs as it suited him. The very alchemy labs that he knew Vil had been using to concoct all kinds of new, personalized, gifts for you. Draconia simply looked on with that unnervingly ancient, green, leer of his. Like he was staring down a particularly fascinating game. The Fae Prince was the most unsettling of the trio, if only because that while Crewel was more than confident enough in his abilities to subdue his other wayward students, fighting off an Immortal, All Powerful, Dragon was going to require at least a little bit of prep work.
Divus Crewel sighed, and it rattled all the way out from the marrow of his bones.
“Come, then,” he rumbled, directing you to follow him back into his office. “It’s not chocolates, but I probably have some of those ridiculous cookies of yours lying around somewhere.” Which he did. Boxes upon boxes of them. Tucked away special for whenever you came to visit. Not that he’d ever willingly admit that, even under the pain of death.
Your eyes went wide and warm as you positively beamed.
It was rotten work, certainly. He shot one, last, warning glare down the hall at the trio of infatuated interlopers as he firmly shut his office door behind you and your absolute oblivious idiocy. He’d do it. Of course he would. But, Christ alive. He was going to need a stronger drink.

More Spider-Man AU Stuff
Johnny became Spider-Man or Skate-Spider on a school field trip when he was young, but went for a long while without taking up the title. He only did eventually because he realised he could help people in a way he couldn't before and save them like he couldn't save his mum. She died while he was young due to an illness but he still blamed himself and saw being Spider-Man as a coping mechanism at first.
The singing competition was essentially the same but without the gang plotline and the characters being much younger. They all became friends afterwards like the do out of AU but have spent 3-ish years together at this point. Buster also adopted Ash then as well.
Jimmy runs a newspaper as well as a ton of other entertainment things and they do all hate Spider-Man.
Instead of Spider-Man losing a police captain or his uncle, he has to be the one to sever his ties with his uncles and dad. In this AU he never knew about the gang and caught them in a robbery. Johnny tried to talk them out of it, even revealing his identity, but couldn't and in the end arrested them. Aka a much more angsty disownment arc.
Nooshy was adopted by Marcus around two years before the start of this AU when he found them camping out behind the garage. She lives in her own apartment now but acts as Johnny's “person in the chair” after helping him come up with the Skate-Spider persona in the first place.
Rosita is still Johnny's foster mum and finds out he's Spider-Man when he returns from patrol too hurt to hide said fact. She immediately started covering for him and helping him improve his gadgets as a way to make sure he's safe.
Several newspapers are running rewards for who can tell them who Spider-Man is and the troupe are all competing together. Johnny is actually pretty scared they might find out who he is because they've gotten close before.
In the timeline, the singing competition in Sing 1 is replaced by just a regular show as it focuses more of Johnny being Skate-Spider and his relationships. The Redshore trip does still happen according to the timeline with the same plot points however, just with Spider-Man stuff thrown in.
Johnny has a different skateboard that he carries on patrol so his dad doesn't recognize it and he takes all the pins of his jacket before patrol as well (also his jacket has pins in this AU). When not skating on patrol, the skateboard is hung around his shoulders with a strand of webbing.
Ryan is actually introduced a bit before the Redshore trip as an English student who Johnny saves as Spider-Man. During the Redshore trip however, it's revealed that Ryan, as well as being a dancer, is in school an is doing a paper on modern heroism and wants to talk with Skate-Spider about what that's like as a hero vs as a civilian. Johnny is constantly scared he's going to figure his identity out.
Clay figures out Spider-Man’s identity after like 12 seconds but keep his identity a secret. He says this is due to him having a stage persona when he was younger so he recognized the two's similarities (Johnny and Skate-Spider).
Ryan does figure out Johnny's identity after a while and drops it in while they are hanging out after practice, promising to keep it a secret.
The troupe as a whole finds out Skate-Spider's identity during the big show down with the big bad and promptly freak out that their friend is likely hurt.
The disownment reconciliation scene wouldn't be at a theatre performance in this. It happens during a fight with a villain when part of the jail is destroyed, causing Johnny to panic about his family's safety. He runs into his dad and the two talk it out then.
Calatonia will be New Calatonia instead but Redshore stays the same.
Quote:
“No, you raised me to do the right thing. Why can’t you see that’s what I’m doing?”
“And you're willing to do that even if it means turning your back on your family? By betraying us?”
“If that’s what it takes, then yes.”
“Johnathan, don’t you dare-“
“I'm sorry dad.”

Stories: Please Read
Edit because I’m a fuckin moron that forgot the Soul-Mate Aus for Little Fortune. Sorry about that.
Alright so sorry about this, I swear I’m halfway through the first Chapter for both Run Boy Run and New Beginnings. But anyway here we are, these are the 14 stories I’m working on, and yes I am well aware that it’s not a good Idea but fuck it, I’m havin’ fun so Anyway. These are the title’s and they will have Descriptions of who is in it and what the Au is and also, yes all of them have soul-mate Au's (y'all couldn’t even rip this from my cold dead hands) many of them are different ones from each other. (Also each of them are embodiment's of something for each other which will be explain at the bottom) Also some of these are inspired by or have parts that are inspired by @oh-itskitkat and I’ll put Links to the ones that Inspired what and if they inspired the story are something that will happen in the story. Also please go check out her shit, it’s amazing. Everything will be under a read more because This post is long as fuck.
1. The Kings and Their Queen which you can find here @thekingsandtheirqueen

Soul-Mate Au’s:
1. Soul-Mark appearing through Touch
2. Remembering Past Life through touch.
5. New Beginnings
Multiverse type thing. JJ, Dark and Wilford are from the same universe, Jack and Marvin are from the same one, Logan, Patton, Janus and Virgil are from the same one, Roman and Remus are the same one. Something bad happens in each of their universes resulting in them winding up in the main.
Universe’s
Main: Liru, Anti, Yancy, Jack, Chase, Thomas, Mark, Henrik, Emile, Remy, Robbie
1920 ish(don’t hate me because I doubt anything will be accurate): JJ, Dark, Wilford
Hero Vs. “Villain”: Jackie and Marvin
Medieval Fantasy: Roman and Remus
Pathos, Ethos, Logos and their dark strange son: Patton, Janus, Logan, Virgil
Characters: Liru, Anti, Jackie, Henrik, Chase, Jack, Marvin, JJ, Yancy, Emile, Remy, Yan, Robbie, Roman, Remus, Janus, Patton, Logan, Virgil

  https://oh-itskitkat.tumblr.com/post/190331869898/in-the-athenaeum-please-do-not-stealrepost
6. Family Against All
Scp au type thing (I’m using what information my brain can retain but I know alot of it is inaccurate, please don’t hate me).
Liru is a lot shyer and quieter in this one. She is avoiding the SCP Foundation heavily because they are looking for her after an incident where she lost temporary control of her abilities which had caused a temporary rift in the fabric of reality. Mark and Jack are still YouTubers in this and Chase is too.
Liru will find the more innocent or even objects of SCP's and take them home. She also has some that the SCP foundation hasn't discovered.
Henrik doesn't tell his brothers where he works. He tells them he's a doctor though and leaves it at that.
His first chapter will him discovering Anti and just straight up Freezing in his tracks because that's his little brother. And he doesn't know why he knows or knows how he knows he just does. and repeat for Jameson, and Marvin and Jackie(but they're older siblings except JJ of course) And when he discovers Robbie he nearly loses his shit but manages to keep it together because Holy Shit Thats A Child.
He's never met them before. And now he has to figure out why he knows them before anyone else can figure out that they aren't doppelgangers or something and has to figure out why there is a 6 year old child that never talks but when he does he's screaming for his mom.
Characters:  Liru, Anti, Jackie, Henrik, Chase, Jack, Marvin, JJ, Robbie, Yan, Dark, The Googles, Bing, The Host, Bim, Wilford, Mark(Maybe the kids)
Soul-Mate Au: Telepathic Connection through knowing soul-mates Preferred Full Name, has to go both ways before connecting.
7. A Burning Soul
It's a Hero x Villains Au, Jackie is the "Hero"(unknowingly works for the bad guy) and Liru, Celine and Yancy are the "Villains" who are in a polyamorous relationship and are trying to get Jackie to switch to there side so he can be protected. A bit more insight is that Jackie was threatened with the safety of someone close to him to be a "Hero" and the other "Hero's" He works with are there to keep him on a leash. While Celine, Liru and Yancy(mostly Liru because she's the one he interacts with the most) Try their best to convince him to join them so they can help him.
Characters: Liru, Celine, Jackie, Yancy, Robbie, Yan, Virgil, Remy, Emile
Soul-Mate Au: Where you have a splotch of color of your soul-mates soul where your soul-mate touches you skin to skin for the first time. It burns when touched for the first time so there's no missing it. It will only stop burning when you accept your Soul-Mate.
8. A Chase Down the Rabbit Hole
This started because of the one-shot I made for Chases birthday and now it’s gonna be a story. I can’t really tell much without spoiling a lot of it so here are the characters in it and the soul-mate au.
Characters: Liru, Chase, Henrik, Jackie, Jack, Anti, JJ, Marvin, Angus, Jacques, Shawn, Sam, Jaym, Katie, Gabriel, Roman, Remus, Kiara, Uma (Possibly the other sides but eh we’ll see)
Soul-Mate Au: Gains Mark Through First Touch
9. Death and Her Soulmates
Alright so the first one is Gonna be Called Death and then whatever soulmate is in it. It's all connected to one story though but they come in one-shots. For instance Liru and Remus would be "Death and Green Sword" or if it's Liru and Roman It's "Death and the Red Shield". Anti and her would be "Death and the Angel" or her and JJ would be "Death and the Master of Time". Robbie and her would be "Death and the Lavender Boy" (every time I see the words Lavender boy my mind sings it to the tune of "Calendar girl") Thomas and her would be "Death and the Rainbow Heart" and the ones that don’t Involve her Would be “The Lightning bug and The Angel”(Jack and Anti) The entire character List is in the story.
Soul-Mate Au’s:
1. Markings gained through touch.
2. The ability to send gifts to your soul-mate/s once a year (You choose something and it appears to them but nothing “living”)
10. Sacred Motives
Inspired by  https://oh-itskitkat.tumblr.com/post/616607308121849856/you-got-your-ass-handed-to-you-by-a-man-in-a
Alright so for what led up to “You got your ass handed to you by” “a man in a cat mask, yes!”. Marvin was getting an Artifact back that belongs to JJ that humans have taken. It's not the only artifact as well. Humans had raided a sacred place, where a bunch of important artifacts were and they stole, which now they are trying to get back. And they’re gonna get more than they expected.
Characters that are in it:
The "What do you have?" “Humans: Your artifacts!” “NO!” is:
Liru, Marvin, Chase, Anti, JJ ,Robbie, Sammi, Jamie, Yan, Yancy, Emile, Remy, Virgil
The "don't know that the sacred artifacts belong to the other side" is:
Jackie, Henrik, Jack, Oliva, Wilford, Dark (unwillingly dealing with the other bullshit because Wilford and Jack are somehow friends)
and the “why did you encourage her to get entangled in mortal affairs, Remus”:
Roman, Remus, Labadon, Logan, Patton, Thomas
Soul-Mate Aus:
1. You can see numbers over your soul-mate’s/soulmates’ heads indicating how dangerous they are 1-100 anything higher than 100 is “Most-likely” Inhuman. The number is in their favorite color and their hand writing.
2. The first thing you soul-mate says to you becomes written on your body.
Inspiration for scene:

11. Little Fortune
So the best way I can explain it is that It started with Anti meeting Liru at a Park and because he had nothing better to do he just kinda sat and talked with her and after that they just kept meeting up Until Anti actually takes her on a Date one night. She gets into a fight with her Acquaintance on the phone(she's visiting Brighton for work) So Anti invites her over so she doesn't have to go back to the hotel room(I should mention that they are ego's in this) So the go back to the Septic house and she stays the night(nothing dirty happens don’t worry) And the others wake up before Anti and Liru and notice that there are heels by the front door so of course they rush up to Anti's room only to see them both Dead asleep on his bed just cuddling(Anti's the little spoon). They freeze at the sight and due to both the door slamming open and the light bleeding in they both wake up. After an explanation and a near attempted murder on Anti's part they let her stay for the time being and despite the fact that they were supposed to erase the memories of anyone who finds out about them they don't because they see the way she reins in Anti before he can even start. And over the months she keeps visiting and they all begin to notice something is a bit strange about her. And on top of that they have to juggle trying not to let Jack find out about her and trying to ignore the feelings that they gain for her(can't wait to write those parts:) ). And the thing is Liru doesn't even notice something is off about her but Anti does and just assumes she knows and thinks that she'll tell him when she's ready. And more often than not she is seen at their house even when she goes back to Oregon, Anti just keeps bringing her over via teleportation.
Characters: Liru, Anti, Jackie, Henrik, Chase, Jack, Marvin, JJ, and some will be added later on.
Soul-Mate Au’s:
1. Songs sung by your Soulmate are stuck in your head.
2. Music that’s stuck in your Soulmate’s/Soumates’ head/s is stuck in yours as well.
3. You have accessories/an accessory that represent your Soulmates/Soulmate
Inspirations for scenes:

4. https://oh-itskitkat.tumblr.com/post/615127312520871936/on-the-11th-of-april-a-drop-of-sunshine-fell-to
12. Songs of the Lost Souls
It's kinda a Hero and Villain x "Civilian" type things and it's Jackie and Anti but the others are also into her(Liru) The Characters in this are Jackie, Angus( the survival Hunter) Marvin, Jacques(the french "ego" from passepartout), Henrik, Chase, Jack, Anti, Shawn Flynn, JJ and S34N(he's an android "underdevelopment"(he was considered to be to human) who Anti accidentally saved).
This takes place in some random metropolis that Liru Moved to to get away from a rather bad past. She's friends with Jacques, Shawn and Sam(S34N) and they Helped her get a rather expensive apartment that she doesn’t need to pay because Jacques already has(“To help a fellow painter out.” “Jacques I Will throw you off this balcony. WHY?!”) Jacques, Shawn and Sam are all types of Artists, Jacques is a rather Famous Painter, Shawn is a hand drawn animation artist. Sam is a sculptor.
Liru’s Older brothers are Roman and Remus and they live in Florida with Roman’s husbands and their three adopted children but they came from Oregon. The reason why Jacques paid for her apartment is because he wanted to help her out of her bad situation despite the fact he knew virtually nothing about it. So the story starts a few days after she moves into the apartment. Also I should mention that Marvin helps out Jackie in his fights against Anti when Anti is particularly aggressive.
Characters: Liru, Jackie, Angus, Marvin, Jacques, Henrik, Chase, Jack, Anti, Shawn, JJ and S34N(Sam), Roman, Remus, Patton, Janus, Thomas, Emile, Remy, Virgil, Sammi, Jamie
Soul-Mate Au’s:
1. When you and your soul-mate touch for the first time, what your song together is will be written on your body with your’s and your soul-mates handwriting and favorite color. And it doesn’t matter how small it is or if it’s in a different language you can always understand it.
2. When your soul-mate is singing you can’t get the song they’re singing out of your head.
3. When the two soul-mates finally sing their song together that their souls essentially connect to each-other finally and it allows them to gain certain abilities they have. Like in a human sense if one could speak Spanish and the other couldn't and when they sing their song together for the first time the person who couldn't speak Spanish now can but not as well as the original. And say the one that couldn’t speak Spanish was really flexible but the Spanish speaker wasn't so when they sing together for the first time the Spanish speaking one becomes somewhat flexible.

3. https://oh-itskitkat.tumblr.com/post/616210494266671104/10-million-fireflies-please-do-not-stealrepost
13. Soul Pack
(Harry Potter au sorta it doesn’t take place in his time) I do not have a description for this so when It comes out I hope you’ll enjoy it.
Characters: Everyone, every single one of them will wind up in it.
Soul-Mate Au’s:
1. Telepathic Connection since birth but gets stronger the more you know your Soul-Mate.
2. Whatever you write on your skin appears on your Soulmate’s/Soulmates’.
14. For The Divine
It's Kinda different from the others. This one is where Liru, Roman and Remus start out as humans and the others are Gods or Divine beings whatever you wanna call them. And the others are looking for the last pieces of themselves(aka soulmates). And eventually they one by one begin to stumble upon Either, Roman, Remus or Liru.
With Roman, Remus and Liru. Roman and Remus are Liru's Legal Guardians (although she is 21 in this, they're 34 though they don't look it, just like Thomas doesn't look like he's thirty in real life.) Roman, Remus and Liru inherited everything that they're family owned after they all mysteriously died off,(Remus killed them but Roman doesn't know but he suspects but he never said anything because that is A. his brother and B. He thought they deserved it as well(they did) Liru knows because she remembers him telling her that they ever laid a hand on her he's kill them all(He did) and she never said anything because she knew that they deserved it as well. and this was when Roman and Remus were 19.
They both quickly adopted Liru before they could put her in the system and when Liru was in school one day and a teacher made a horrible remark about her brothers taking her in, she mentioned it "Offhandedly" to Roman where Remus would hear. And the next day when Roman and Remus(for the sake of appearances) went to go talk to the teacher about it, the teacher had already been murdered the night before by some of Remus' "Friends". Roman is both a Fashion Designer and Model, Remus is a Painter, Liru is a Fashion Designer(Both Roman and Remus model for her when she needs help figuring out what to do with it) and Painter, she also makes jewelry and Masks to go with her and Romans designs. They all base their outfits/paintings/statues around the animals that represent there Soulmates.
Characters: All of them Minus Jaym and Katie.
Soul-Mate Au’s:
1. You have an animal(or in their cases, animals) that represent your soulmate/s
2. Gained Telepathic Link through getting to know your Soulmate. The more you know and trust them, the stronger the Link and the more control you have over it.
Inspiration for Scenes
1. https://oh-itskitkat.tumblr.com/post/190596652918/tending-the-garden-please-do-not
Alright now for the embodiment thing.
So I was Originally Only gonna do it for the Sanders but It just bleed over into the others. But anyway so it's essentially that they are an embodiment of certain things for there soul-mates For example, Logan Is Logic (so when any of them actually stop and think instead of diving right in Logan can tell) or Anti is Curiosity (for instance if on of the were to notice something they are unfamiliar with and they can't help but investigate Anti can tell) Or Robbie is Child-Like Wonder like the feeling you get when your a kid and you see presents under the tree on Christmas morning or Like that one Here Be Dragons from that SCP Unity episode Mark did. Robbie can feel when they feel that but at the same time it doesn't necessarily mean that they have to be a feeling or something you use. For instance Damien is the Embodiment of the Day and he can get a sense of where is soulmates are and whether or not they are in danger.

Plots please!
OKAY SO first off 100% to all the ones u just posted so im not gonna repeat any of these ideas so these are from the zero braincells reserve:
1. both/one of them joining the others life. like maybe there’s something that bonds them tighter, or jason comes back at that PEAK ‘fuck batman’ (pre blockbuster) phase dick goes thru SO in that instance dick joining jason on the anti-hero campaign. like i think dick would be as good at it as he was a spy (good but kinda missing the point since he doesnt kill) but basically just the idea of two brothers vs. the world i :’’’)  1b. i guess-ish, but jason with the titans!! i would never compliment titans dcu but like the idea of jason (either pre or post red hood) joining the titans with dick and them working together bc i think they’d be such a good balance especially in a team context and also jason with the titans makes happy uwu because jason with friends embraced by that found family ish. pre-RH jason would mean bonding as older brother/lil brother and post-rh would just be bonding as buds so win win
2. i’d have to like really think this one out but essentially a no bruce au, like i know gotham by gaslight kinda did this but like somehow the kids meet anyway and they’re not as finely tuned as bruce-trained kids but they still get shit done and essentially become thrift store vigilantes like they dont have much but damn are they gonna do the damn thing anyway!! (alternatively ex-villain au like talon and no-bruce jason trying to build something good for them)
3. fuck ric grayson but like HEAVY angst threads where one is about to die / doesn’t remember the other and they have to get out of something and idk but its just big ‘if u die i’ll kill u’ vibes
4. licherally anything with baby jason

To start off 2019 with some positivity, I'm going to make a list of things that I absolutely love and make me happy in my favourite shows, movies, books, games etc. Small things, big things, no particular rhyme or reason. It was surprisingly therapeutic. Feel free to reblog and add your own!
Link being left-handed now let him use sign language Nintendo please
The entire Sector 6 Market section in Final Fantasy VII and the Honeybee Inn in particular
Zuko's character arc
The Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack
Final Fantasy X's worldbuilding
Everything about Disney's Mary Poppins it put me in a good mood for three days straight
How Percy absolutely adores his mum and is supportive of her relationship with Paul (after a while)
Edward Elric
(Yes. Just Edward Elric as a character, person, concept, actions...)
Major character design kink: boys with long (ish) blonde hair (see Edward, Link, Zidane, Howl)
Final Fantasy IX's soundtrack
Aerith and Tifa being close friends despite both being in love with Cloud
The Gentleman Bastard Sequence's worldbuilding
The fact that one of the characters in Zootopia speaks with my city's accent in the Italian dub (you never see it in any movie)
Final Fantasy IV's world being just vague enough that it tickles my creative bone to expand on it
Kingdom Hearts I using original storylines for the Disney Worlds
How Yato's eyes are very a very clear indication that he's a supernatural being in Noragami, being unnaturally light and bright
That one panel in the Kingdom Hearts II manga where an almost-naked Pete carries Maleficent bridal style out of the collapsing tower
Sleeping Beauty's art style and instrumental soundtrack
The fact that two super popular shonen manga/anime have leads who are super smart instead of being dumb muscle or the stock happy-go-lucky-not-very-bright protagonist (Fullmetal Alchemist and My Hero Academia)
How some of the Olympians like Hermes and Poseidon are so casual when interacting with mortals
The scene where the Spaceport is revealed in Treasure Planet and the look of the film in general
The first few chapters of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga before card games took over the plot
People in the Gentleman Bastard Sequence being emotionally honest despite being literal con artists
The theatre motif in The Republic of Thieves
Cloud, Aerith and Tifa threatening Don Corneo, but especially Aerith saying that "she'll rip it off" if he doesn't cooperate
Locke and Jean becoming pirates in Red Seas Under Red Skies
The Hunger Games movies being the most accurate film adaptations I have seen in my life
The Kingdom Hearts soundtrack, especially the vocal tracks, Dearly Beloved and The Other Promise
Final Fantasy VI shoving you in what usually is the backstory of a videogame and literally destroying the world
Edward defending Mustang when he had his sight taken from him despite them having spent 90% of their screentime together bickering
Tony Stark and Peter Parker's relationship in the MCU
Sophie throwing a tantrum after she realises she's in love with Howl and creating deadly weedkiller to express those feelings
Darcy being a goddamn social Disaster in every incarnation of Pride and Prejudice
The relationship between Roy Mustang and Riza Hawkeye
The Once Upon a December sequence from Anastasia
The mere existence of Zamira Drakasha and Ezri Delmastro and everything they represent
Sokka's role as both the strategist and the goofball in the Gaang
Peter Parker sharing a hot dog with Loki when he could have asked for anything because Loki owed him a favour
How the plot of Kingdom Hearts is so ridiculous we don't even question it anymore
Enormous muscly men I can still categorise as "super adorable and sweet" (Major Armstrong, All Might)
Howl being the biggest drama queen in the book
My Hero Academia's fantasy AU ending
Spider-Man (PS4) nailing the Friendly Neighbourhood Spidey aspect of the character and letting him interact with civilians
That moment when I was sure Bakugou was going to join the League of Villains but then he didn't and I've never been happier about being wrong my entire life
Zuko practising before asking the Gaang to join them
SNAP SNAP SPARK SPARK
Harry's wonder at every new thing in the Wizarding World
The fact that Spider-Man's backstory could just as easily be that of a villain but instead he's a hero and he has the biggest heart
Jake and Amy being in an Adult and Communicative relationship while still being themselves and each other's best friend
Winry being just as much of a prodigy as Ed and Al and building Ed's automail at 11 years old
Percy Jackson starting out as a standard straight white kids' series and Riordan adding ALL THE DIVERSITY as soon as it got popular enough that Disney couldn't say no
Charlie Weasley just outright trespassing into Hogwarts to smuggle an illegal dragon out
The soul and essence of Pride and Prejudice being passive-aggressiveness and sarcasm

A Year in Review for ship-ambrosia - Fanfiction Writers 2018
So I saw a blog I’m a huge fan of do this sort of year reflection of fanfiction writing, and since this was the first year I’ve ever posted my fanfictions, I thought it’d be fun to do!
First off I wanna thank @sweetmemories2606 @allie-and-her-fandoms and @a-fairy-tail44 for constantly encouraging me, being there to bounce ideas off of, also basically being beta readers for me and my hype men... you guys rock. I’m so glad I met all of you.
total number of completed stories
- “Completed” is kind of relative isn’t it? Lol... I have 13 stories posted on AO3, 4 that are on tumblr only, and of those 17 three of them, Heavens Bringer, A Fool Like Him, and Inherit Thunder (previously Heir of Electricity) are unfinished. Three of them are a collection of one-shots from Gruvia, Jerza, and Nalu week, but they’re all so short I’m going to count them as all together.
- There is so much unposted stuff in my backlog that you wouldn’t even believe lol most of it is unfinished though
total word count
- 81000 on AO3. I don’t even want to go and count otherwise
fandoms written in
- Fairy Tail
- My Hero Academia
- RWBY
- Persona 5
- Voltron (behind the scenes)
- Fire Emblem (behind the scenes)
looking back, did you expect to write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expected?
- Let me just say that posting the first two fanfictions, Inherit Thunder (BNHA, kamijirou) and Liberation (RWBY, Blacksun), were totally on a whim. My roommate encouraged me to do it and see what kind of feedback I got on them. Boy am I glad I did. So let me tell you my motivation and progress has been absolutely astounding to me.
what’s your own favorite story of the year?
- This is so hard, because I’ve been in love with all the stories as I posted each of them, like oh yeah this is it this is my best one. Every time lol. I’d have to say though it’s probably The Droplet (FT, Gruvia). Reading my first gruvia fanfiction Four Degrees, and then going to The Droplet, you can really see not only how well my writing has improved, but also how much better I’ve done in understanding Gray and Juvia. Also I happen to find the beginning of it still really sexy lol that was difficult for me, writing a scene that was sexy that was going to be posted for the world to see.
did you take any writing risks this year?
- I think the style that I wrote A Sound Like Thunder (BNHA, iidamei) and Beauty and the Crow (P5, Akeharu) was a different style than um used to, with the story being told in chunks that didn’t quite fit together perfectly but still built off one another. Basically they could have been multi chapter fics but I wrote them like a short story and both of those stories I had to have read over a thousand times because I wanted them to be perfect.
do you have any fanfic or profit goals for the new year?
- One, to finish Heavens Bringer which I think is very plausible since I’ve been working on the last chapter a lot lately. Another is just to get more consistent with finishing and posting works, because right now it’s just like, here from me every so often and going like a month or two without posting any sort of writing. Maybe even to write less ship-focused works. I love ships but I don’t think all my writing has to be only romantic
best story of the year?
- Certainly one of my Fairy Tail fanfictions, though I’m not sure which. Heavens Bringer definitely has the most effort put in, but both The Droplet and A Fool Like Him (Ft, stingyu) have such in-depth, emotional breakdowns of Gray and Sting respectively and how I see them viewing their primary love interest that I think both of those stories have a fascinating draw. Also, I’m extremely proud of my Nalu Angst week prompts, I go back and re read them all the time. I think some of my best work resides in that collection, most notably the story titled “Miles Apart, Two Inches Away” from when Natsu and Lucy reunite after the post-Tartaros timeskip.
most popular story of the year?
- That’s easily Everything was the Same (Except when it wasn’t), my first Nalu story. On AO3 it has 755 Hits and 72 kudos, the most for both of all my stories. Which I find so funny because I wrote that story in under an hour lol.
story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
- Heavens Bringer, by far. I like to think it’s amazing, and my friends seem to love it, but it’s gotten very little recognition. I’d love for more people to read it, and it has all the big four ships and I’ve devoted soo much time to it. But the feedback I HAVE gotten has been absolutely wonderful!
most fun story to write:
Beauty and the Crow, A Sound Like Thunder, or Nalu Angst Week. I hurt so much while writing all three, but I loved it. Beauty and the Crow because Akechi and Haru’s relationship would be just as tragic as I’ve written it, A Sound Like Thunder because iidamei is normally such a goofy ship and I literally almost killed Iida and made Mei Hatsume cry, and Nalu Angst Week because well... painful feels. But I enjoyed the dark places that my writing went.
story with the single sexiest moment:
Haven’t written (read: published) a ton of sexy scenes. I think The Droplet wins for the part where Gray almost pulls off Juvia’s underwear with his teeth, only to be interrupted by their baby.
most sweet story:
- Nuclear Fusion. No angst, it’s straight up injecting Nalu parenting fluff into your bloodstream lol
“holy crap, that’s wrong, even for you!” story:
- Nothing yet?? Maybe hurting Iida and Mei in A Sound Like Thunder. I need to write a goofy fic with the two of them, honestly.
story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
- I’m going to say Inherit Thunder. I used to think of Kaminari as just a total goofball. Coming up with the idea of his parents as villains gave so many deep possibilities to why Kaminari wants to be the “trendy” popular boy or where he could come from, what his motivation for being a hero could be. I could be totally right, or totally off. But it definitely made me so much more intrigued by what Horikoshi could have planned for him.
most unintentionally telling story:
- When you read Heavens Bringer you see exactly what kind of Fairy Tail fan I am. Lol
hardest story to write:
- Heavens Bringer! Lol. Also worked on Beauty and the Crow for a long time, because I couldn’t decide what direction I exactly wanted to take Haru and Akechi - did I want to follow the plot? Did I want to make Haru and Akechi fall in love, or make it a series of moments? Did I want lots of dialogue, or did I want it to be more narrated? It was a lot of stylistic choices that went into that one but I’m totally happy with how it turned out!
biggest disappointment:
- I worked on a Baccana story for sooo long and then I ended up deleting it because it was turning into very cliche, Gildarts-doesn’t-approve-so-he-challenges-Bacchus-to-a-fight and I didn’t want to write a fic that had already been done 30 times (not that Gildarts and Bacchus fighting because Bacchus likes Cana isn’t great... it’s just that most people who like that ship have already written that).
biggest surprise:
- Uhh, Inherit Thunder being as popular as it was received? I’ve gotten dozens of messages asking for a sequel and it’s really an incredible feeling to know people want more of a story. It was originally gonna just be a one-shot, but now I’m writing a second chapter that will probably come out after Heavens Bringer is done.
some stuff in the works for the new year:
- Obviously, Heavens Bringer part 5 and chapter 2 of Inherit Thunder
- Working on several more chapters to A Fool Like Him, it’s basically just all suffering for Sting lol
- A multi chapter Baccana fic AU-ish in which Cana joins Quatro Cerberus during the Tartaros timeskip after Fairy Tail is disbanded
- Multi chapter Gruvia and Gale fic about Juvia disappearing after leaving to search for answers to her origin, leaving Gray and Gajeel desperate to find her
- Stingyu Cinderella/Princess and the Pauper AU
- A Yang x Ilia piece (FINALLY! LOL)
- May eventually clean up and post an experimental fic where I practiced writing combat with Sun and Neptune vs Mercury
- Ryuji x Ann getting together post-canon
- Future Ryuji x Ann single dad Ryuji AU
- Haru x Akechi Military/sort of Fullmetal Alchemist AU?? Idk it was inspired by fanart
- Maybe post some of my Voltron/Fire Emblem stuff eventually? Idk about those
If you read this entire post seriously thank you!! And thanks to everyone who’s read my fics, sent me messages about them, or just talked to me in general!! I love interacting with the communities!!

Drew these out of boredom
Tumblr media
This is Kamen Rider Synth, a Rider with the ability two transform by fusing two riders (like Ultraman Orb and Geed), his standard form is a fusion of Ichigo and Kuuga.
Tumblr media
This is my reboot redesign for Robot Detective K in his Blow Up mode, not much else to say.
Tumblr media
This is some random idea of fusing Mole and Crow Amazon, it was something I drew out of boredom.
Tumblr media
This is Tanya Asahina, a side character from that old ‘Heroes in High school’ idea. She’s a young soldier who attends the school to improve her skills and become a professional hero.
Tumblr media
This is Kamen Rider Dark Skull, a mysterious Rider that appears in Futo City, causing havoc, so it’s up to the Narumi Detective Agency to stop him and clear their mentor’s name. He is based on Black Ghost from Cyborg 009.
Tumblr media
This is my attempt at a Supaidaman version of Silk, did what I could to make the suit accurate and gave her the mask than just the bottom mask.
Tumblr media
This is my attempt at making a reboot design for the Blue Turbo Ranger, did what I could to fit with that universe’s aesthetics as well  as give it a technical motif.
Tumblr media
This is a crossover fusion of Amethyst from both Steven Universe and  Houseki no Kuni, did what I could to capture both aesthetics.
Tumblr media
This is Leo Bartail, a character from this old Prison Horror Fighting Game. He is a serial killer that usually hid his victims in the ocean, he was eventually caught and experimented on into becoming a Lionfish-like beast, with his spiky fin rays. he is very deadly.
Tumblr media
This is Tanya Asahina in her civilian mode, a side character from that old ‘Heroes in High school’ idea. She is skilled with weaponry and is a sharp shot.
Tumblr media
This is Terror Arcum, a villain I thought up for a Lupin vs Pat/Build crossover idea, a Terrorbird/Bow themed Gangler that was exposed to Nebula Gas and took a Transteam Gun to become a Ganglar/Smash fusion. His Lupin Collection is a Full-bottle like item with a Robin motif.
Tumblr media
This is my redesign of Anrdio Mars, it was something I did out of boredom to add a female character for the Ultimate Force Zero. though unlike the original, she is her own character rather than an Ultra in a mobile suit.
Tumblr media
This was my attempt at designing Amazon Omega, but in a Showa style, it was something that popped into my mind, making it look less armor-ish.
Tumblr media
This is my attempt at a reboot redesign of the Ranger Slayer from the Boom Studios comics, did what I could to combine both aesthetics.
Tumblr media
This is my reboot redesign of Henshin Ninja Arashi, for this random idea I had of the classic Ishinomori heroes uniting in an Avengers like film, I did what I could to make the armor look alright.
Tumblr media
This is a random fusion between Momo and Kyouka in their Fantasy au outfits (from the third ending theme). I’ve drawn this fusion before and wanted to try it again to see how I’ve improved.
Tumblr media
And here’s a random Kamen Rider oc, Amazon Zeta, a prototype Neo Amazon created by 4C with the old Amazon cells but with the new Driver, however there came a side effect where she is given a split personality, one normal and one psychotic.

Dynamic | pt. vii
Tumblr media
[ back to masterlist ]
Scenario: Superhero AU Pairing: Chen/Reader Word Count: 5385  Rating: T-ish (important: warning for mild language, violence/blood, mentions of rape)
Summary: You’re the leading superhero of the city, and you’ve fought Dynamo for years. It’s the way it should be - good vs. evil, hero vs. villain. But what happens when a bigger evil threatens everything?
<< previous part x first part x next part >>
You startle awake at the sound of your phone ringing. Not just any ring, but the sound you’ve set for emergency calls. You’re up before you even know what you’re doing, answering the call and putting the phone to your ear. “Hello?”
“Rush, we’ve been waiting on you,” crackles a voice that you recognize as the Director’s. You’re hopping out of bed, stumbling towards your bag.
“Waiting? For what?” You yawn, pulling your suit out of your bag.
“The raid. It’s today.”
Shit. How could you forget? Tonight is the raid you’d been planning for the past week. After your quick mission at the gala, you’d narrowed the possible suspects down to only Griffin. At the last meeting, you’d tracked him down to an old tattoo parlor in the red light district of the city. A place he frequented too often to be normal.
Tonight, you’d be going undercover again.
“I’m on my way,” you say, hanging up. You pull on your suit, and, with a quick check in the mirror just to reassure yourself that your identity is hidden as always, you ready yourself and blink into the NSN headquarters.
“There you are,” says the Director, annoyance carved into his brow. You lean on the nearest thing to regain your balance, which happens to be Whirlwind, who’s smirking down at you as your palm lands on his chest.
He raises an eyebrow, smirk growing wider. “Ass,” you mutter, stepping away and straightening your posture.
You have a look around the room. To your surprise, Chen is already there - had the Director actually invited him? Next to Chen stands Seism, then Inferno, then to your right, Whirlwind. The others are missing, but the five of you are enough for any mission.
“Here’s the plan,” The Director says, and the huge screen on the wall morphs into a map of the red light district. They call it the Siren District, and for a reason: you know what goes on in that side of the city is as mysterious, as wicked as sirens in the deep sea. Illegal dealings, paid murders, gambling, the flesh trade. It’s the one place you can’t step into. More evil lurks in the Siren District than in any supervillain.
You gulp. The map pans out and the Director points to your target location - indicated with a bright red dot in one of the deeper alleys, between a pawn shop and something that claims to be a nightclub. Black Dragon Tattoos. The name itself is a clue. “You’ll be checking all the buildings on this street. It might not be Black Dragon we’re looking for.”
You all nod in unison.
“Do you remember the brief from yesterday?”According to that, you would be paired with Chen - you suspect it’s more because no one trusts him than anything about your abilities being complementary. You’d be scouring the south side of the alley together before you entered the Black Dragon. The Director had picked you for the riskiest part of the job - meeting the Dragon himself. If you could find him, that is. “Yes, sir.”
The Director smiles. The screen turns off. “Excellent.”
You’re sitting in the backseat of something that from the outside, looks like a delivery van but on the inside is a control center decked out with surveillance screens, speakers, and tons of extra gear. Squished between Chen and Whirlwind. Like them, you’ve switched your suit - too bright and too obvious a color - for a black shirt and black pants that stick to your skin in a way that’s meant to draw attention to your body. Meant to distract. You’re not uncomfortable with it, but you button the accompanying jacket up all the way nonetheless: the thought of the people in the Siren District having their eyes on you any longer than necessary is more than a little unnerving.
You have to ditch your mask, too, for a face mask that wraps around the lower half of your face. You’d packed on some eye makeup just in case, paranoid that someone would recognize the shape of your eyes, look too close and realize you’re wearing contacts. What do I have to be worried about? You chastise yourself. It’s not like anyone will recognize me.
“Are you scared?” Chen asks, voice low, just for you.
You snort. “Scared? Hell yes. I’m borderline terrified.”
“It’ll turn out fine,” he reassures you. “Promise.”
“You don’t sound optimistic,” you laugh. You can’t see his mouth turn down in a frown, but his eyes do.
“I am optimistic. We’re going to get through this. I’m serious!” He whines when you laugh. “Hey.”
You exhale, still smiling, putting a hand on his shoulder by way of an apology. “Okay, okay. Fine. Everything will be fine.”
As you get closer, though, you’re not so sure. With every turn, every mile closer, you feel wrong. Like things aren’t going to go as expected.
What could go wrong? You could die. One of your friends could die. Someone else could die. You could be abducted and sold as a slave to a rich old man halfway across the world. You could be exposed - your real identity could be exposed.
You shake your head to clear it. Out of all those scenarios, none were plausible for a simple information raid. Which was all this mission was. The worst-case scenario was someone getting injured and the mission being compromised. That was a very real possibility. You’d work on eliminating that possibility, not worrying about things that wouldn’t happen.
The truck screeches to a stop. “We’re here,” the Director announces as he unlatches the door. “You’ll have to walk a bit. Any further in and they might track us.”
You move out of the van in pairs. Seism is alone, and he goes first. He’s the closest thing you have to a sniper. Hiding out from a secure vantage point and clobbering people with bricks. “Or knocking them off their feet with an earthquake,” he’d said. “But that’s only for emergencies.”
After he’s out of sight, it’s your turn. You and Chen skirt around the back of the van to the road, and you’re immediately thrown into the lurid darkness of the Siren District.
“This way,” Chen says, and grabs your arm, pulling you to the right. You tear your eyes away from the flashing lights of the main street and follow him, matching his pace. He doesn’t let go of your arm, and you can feel tiny bursts of electricity even through the material of your jacket. He’s nervous - he doesn’t usually let himself shock you like that.
“Slow down,” you mutter. “We’re drawing attention.” He does, and you settle into a pace that’s fast enough, but not any faster than the people walking past you on the street.
You thought it would be different, the Siren District. The people on the streets look normal, albeit grungier - but that’s standard for the city’s nightlife. The numerous neon signs hanging from every building cast an unearthly glow on everyone’s face, making shadows seem deeper than they are. Buildings have been built in layers, each new one on top of the old one so that you can’t even make out where one starts and the other begins.
You do see the other things, though. Groups of people clustered in alleys, smoking. The sounds of a brawl from somewhere behind. As you pass a restaurant you hear drunken laughter and a man stumbles out on the arm of a woman, his hand groping at her as she fights him off. Chen’s hand twines around yours and he pulls you away, leading you away from the scene and further down the street.
The Black Dragon is halfway down. You almost don’t notice it: it’s tucked away shabbily behind a large sign advertising a psychic. The door is down a half-flight of stairs, the only sign that anything’s inside is the red neon light that seeps through the crack between the door and the frame and spills out onto the street.
You mark its position, then discreetly pull out the small mouthpiece attached to your face mask. “We’re here.”
“So am I,” Seism’s voice crackles over your headset. “Look up and to your left.” You both do, and in the window of the building across from the Black Dragon is the barest glimpse of Seism’s head as he ducks back down.
“Got you,” you say, sharing a look with Chen. It was time for the next part of your plan.
Chen shoots a quick glance at the entrance to the Black Dragon. “We’re supposed to go further down, aren’t we?”
“We are,” you agree, following his line of sight. Something’s telling you this is the right place. It’s not just the name of the shop, but a kind of aura that surrounds the place. An aura that’s dark, wicked, more sultry than any of the other establishments you noticed.”But…”
“But…?” He looks at you, one eyebrow raised. You wonder if you should. Bypass the plan and go straight for the Black Dragon instead.
“But I think we shouldn’t.”
He smiles, eyes crinkling almost deviously above his mask. “Good thinking, then.”
You activate your mouthpiece again. “Hey, Director? It’s Rush. I want a change of plans.”
“What happened?”
You turn away from Chen, squaring your shoulders as you face down the Black Dragon. “My gut’s telling me to go in.”
A long silence. The Director exhales. “Are you sure?”
You glance at the door again, sizing it up. “Pretty sure.”
“I say you go in,” Seism chimes in.
The Director exhales again. “Follow your gut, then. I trust you.”
You share a grin with Chen. “Thank you, sir.”
With that, you push past the psychic ad and go down the stairs. Then you push the door open, without knocking or looking for a bell. You figure that’s not how things work in the Siren District.
And you’re right - no one looks up at you and Chen as you walk into the building. The red lights are blinding here, and there’s some kind of hazy music that matches the smoky air in making everything seem surreal. It’s not just a tattoo shop, you notice. There are card tables strewn on the right side of the room. All empty. Past that, though, is a dance floor, where there are so many people you have no idea how anyone could find their way out.
Maybe they weren’t meant to.
You and Chen make your way around the mass of people, where there’s a row of doors you presume must lead to the actual tattoo parlor. “If you owned this place, where would you be?” You muse to Chen as you turn back around, looking for any more doors or exits.
“There,” he says, and you look where he’s pointing - to the balcony-like glass box that hangs over the front of the room. Behind, you can make out shadowy figures moving around, but no faces. “That’s got to be it.”
“I think we’d better make ourselves inconspicuous first,” Chen says, quieter than before, and you look past him to where someone who looks like a bartender is eyeing you from head to toe. Not like someone would eye a person they were attracted to, but like he was assessing you as a threat. Exactly the kind of attention you didn’t want.
You let Chen lead you to the back wall. “Stay here,” he says. “I’ll be right back.” And then he vanishes into the press of the crowd.
You frown. Without him, you feel exposed. This is not a place anyone would visit alone, and you’re no exception. Resisting the urge to cross your arms over your chest, you try to look like you’re at ease. Bored, almost. It must work, because you see someone approach you.
He’s short, with pale grey hair and one eye covered with a white contact. “Hey,” he says, and smoothly hands you a bright purple drink.
“Oh, um-”
“Tonight’s special,” he winks. Then he leans in. “You know, you caught his eye.”
You’re on guard immediately at his words. “Whose?”
A slow smile spreads across his face, his eyes boring into yours as he cocks his head toward the glass box above. “His, of course.”
A shiver wracks your body. “And you’re here because?”
“Because he asked me to bring you to him.” Is it just you, or is he morphing in front of your eyes? His voice changes pitch, going deeper with each word. His face swims in and out of focus and rearranges itself into sharper features. He grows taller, inch by inch, until he’s just towering over you. “You’d be making a mistake if you rejected the invitation.”
He’s a super, then. What kind? Shapeshifter? You don’t come across them often. They’re rare.
You shouldn’t leave. It would compromise the mission and put you in danger - the exact situation you’re trying to avoid. And you’re alone now, with Chen lost temporarily in the crowd, both of you deep inside the building and out of Seism’s view. You’re not even sure if you’ll be able to call for help.
Still, though. The man can only be talking about the Dragon. And the Dragon isn’t someone you want to anger.
You make your decision. Readying yourself internally, you take the man’s outstretched hand. “Take me to him, then.”
He leads you back to where you saw the doors, pushing open the last one and holding it open for you. This room is definitely not a tattoo room. You avert your eyes as you follow him further inside, over to a dingy staircase that creaks as you climb up. This end of the building smells like mold, not the herbaceous smoke that permeated the rest of it.
On the second floor, there’s only a single door. That must lead to the glass box. You tense as the man reaches for the doorknob, readying yourself for a possible attack. You don’t want to give yourself away, but if this is a trap, you need to be ready to escape.
The man beckons you inside with a tilt of his head. “Ladies first.”
You take a step inside.
It’s empty except for the man on a chair, looking out through the glass onto the people below. As your eyes adjust to the dark, you make out another figure, hunched beside him. Quiet. It’s strange, you swear you saw more people when you looked from below.
You whirl around as the door clicks shut behind you. The shifter is gone. It’s just you and the Dragon.
“Hello, Rush.”
The blood drains from your face. He knows who you are.
Beside him, the figure lets out a small sound.
“Well?” The Dragon says after a beat of silence. “Aren’t you going to say hello, too?” He still hasn’t turned to face you. You stalk forward, so that you’re within his view but can still make a run for the exit if you need to.
“You’re the Dragon, aren’t you?” You cross your arms, looking over him. This man is most definitely not Antonio Griffin.
He sighs, leaning back in his seat. Still not making eye contact. “Ah, Rush. It’s a waste of time to say things we already know. Isn’t it?”
What does he mean by that? You keep silent, shifting in place as you wait for a strike. There has to be a strike. He didn’t call you up here for the pleasure of your company.
Finally, he looks at you, eyes roving up and down your body. You fight the uncontrollable urge to curl up in a ball, hide from him. “You look...different from when I last saw you.”
“I do?”
“Yes. You’re...not as sure of yourself as you were before. Aren’t you?” He doesn’t wait for a reply. “I can see it in your stance. You are - hmm, how do I put it? Afraid. What are you afraid of, darling?”
He laughs, a low chuckle that makes it feel like there are insects crawling up and down your body. Your cheeks burn.
“I wonder. Maybe, you’re afraid of me. Of what I can do. Maybe you’re afraid for your friends. Maybe you’re afraid because you are, for once, caught in real life.” He laughs again, dry and humorless. “Isn’t that right? This isn’t that pretend play, back-and-forth you do with your nemesis. Welcome to the real world, Rush. There’s more evil here than anything you’ve ever seen.”
You freeze. Because something is about to go very, very wrong.
He shifts his chair, revealing the figure next to him, and you choke out a gasp. “Chen.”
How did the Dragon get him? How did he know?
“See?” The Dragon sounds smug. “I wasn’t just going to let you take my word for it. We both know how words are weak. Actions, though, they get my point across much more effectively.”
Chen has his eyes closed, his hands and legs bound by metal bands twisted around them. Is he drugged? Why isn’t he looking at you? You know your panic, your shock, is open for anyone to see on your face. How are you going to get out of this mess?
“Let him go,” you say finally. It’s a pathetic attempt and you know it. There’s conviction in your words, but also desperation. He knows he has the upper hand. He knows he’s got you at his mercy.
The Dragon smiles.
“What do you want from us?” You ask when he doesn’t reply. “Our lives? Information? Or our abilities?”
He steeples his hands. “Nothing. I simply wanted to teach you a lesson. Let’s see how you do in a test.”
And with that, the door bursts open. Men in dark suits flood in, all with a silver dragon insignia emblazoned on their chests. You count six, seven, eight. When you see the shapeshifter from earlier, a cold realization hits you.
They’re all supers.
You’re done for.
All you have is your ring Blade, strapped under your jacket to the back of your shirt. You toss the jacket to the ground - hopefully someone will trip on it. The Blade in your hand hums to life, its light casting pink flashes around the room. You drop into a crouch, waiting for them to attack.
The moment they do, you’re ready. You don’t even stop to think as you fight, one movement leading into another as you turn yourself into a weapon. Blinking across the room, using your Blade to incapacitate. Not to kill.
But that’s your mistake. Because these men are aiming to kill, and you’re not doing enough. The ones you’ve knocked down are getting back up, a renewed determination in their eyes.
You’re aware of the Dragon watching your every movement from his position. “See what I meant?” he calls. “This is the real world, Rush. We are the real villains. This is evil. Do you see?”
You grunt, kicking another guy in the face, your heel slamming into his mouth and sending him spinning into the ground. The guy behind you has some kind of sticky hands that he uses to leap onto the ceiling, swinging down and going for your neck. You duck out of the way at the last second.
Another one can create illusions. Suddenly, there are ten of him. The next moment, Twenty. You’ve lost count. Thinking fast, you blink behind him, and the illusions disappear from this side. You go for a chokehold, wrestling him down to the ground and putting a nasty slice in one of his arms. Then the other. He groans, but pulls himself up to his feet, shooting a right hook. You’re not fast enough and his fist smashes into your face. You see stars and lose your balance, out of it enough that you just barely see the hit coming from the other side-
“Rush!” You hear Chen trying to get your attention, and with his warning, you’re somehow fast enough to bypass the illusionist’s next attack. You drop to the ground to avoid a hit from the shapeshifter behind you, at the same time swinging your leg out in a wide arc, sweeping them both off their feet.
But the shifter is faster than you expect. He jumps onto you, holding your arms and legs down with his. You struggle in his hold. His hand moves to your neck and presses down on your pulse. Hard enough that you go lightheaded.
“Pity I wasn’t alone with you,” he says, increasing the pressure. You choke. “I would have enjoyed you.”
Your eyes roll back in your head, but you can still hear him as he speaks, low in your ear. “Do you want to know what I would have done? If the Dragon decided I could have you?” More pressure. It’s slow, excruciating. “I’d eat you up. You would be screaming for me to stop, but I wouldn’t, I’d just keep taking,” his hand squeezes like a vice and lets go, squeezes and then lets go again. You whimper, paralyzed.
He growls, low. “I’ll just take you like this, then.” His other hand is sliding over your breast.
With all the concentration you have left, you bring your knee up into his crotch. “Get the fuck away from me.”
He falls off you, keening in pain. You scramble over him, seeing red. Did he think he could get away with saying that? How many other women had he said that to? How many of the other men here thought that they could get what they wanted, just like that? You pin him down the way he did you, ignoring his whine of pain. “Enjoy this, you fucking bastard.”
Eyes flashing with rage, you slit his throat.
The instant blood spurts up onto your face, you’re horrified. What have you just done? You’re a hero, not a murderer. This isn’t what you do. You stumble away, landing with a thud on your back.
You don’t have time to break down, though. You only just see one of the men you’d knocked down getting up, wiping away the blood from a cut above his eye. This is the one with super strength, you remember. Pushing away the fatigue that suddenly threatens to overwhelm you, you take a stance, ready to fight anything he can throw at you.
This is going to rely on your speed. You only hope that you can be fast enough to avoid being pummeled to death.
He charges. You blink away at the last second - a classic trick - and he goes barreling right past where you were. Stupid. Doesn’t he know your power is teleportation?
You aren’t in the mood for a slow fight. You want this over with - now.
With a yell, you reappear right in front of him, bringing your Blade slashing over his chest. It doesn’t go in deep - he’s too muscular for that - but it leaves an ugly gash across his shirt. To his credit, he doesn’t waver. Just immediately backhands you across the face.
You go flying, only just managing to keep yourself from smashing into the glass wall behind by blinking upright at the last second. Shaking it off, you go in for the attack again.
You’re a blur of pink light and limbs as you whirl around him, slashing, avoiding hits from every side. You can feel exhaustion pulling on you, slowing you down, and you almost miss another smash to the face. He shows absolutely no sign of stopping as the fight goes on, dragging into an eternity that you don’t think will ever end.
“Asshole,” you grunt, tears stinging at your eyes as you aim a high kick to his neck. It hits home, snapping it sideways. “Why won’t you fucking leave,” you spin, kicking him in the kneecap, “me,” again, “alone!”
When the opening appears, you slam your Blade into his chest.
And feel your blood run cold as he falls to his knees, staring up at you. You look away, unable to stomach his expression, frozen forever into a mask of shock.
You take a step back, looking up at the Dragon, whose face is as impassive as ever. “Well?” You grit out. “Is that good enough for you? Is that what you fucking wanted?” You feel empty, and the tears that are dripping down your face - out of frustration, exhaustion - are just as much so.
As you watch his face, his brow furrows, his mouth setting into a hard line. He’s...angry? You tense. There’s no telling what happens next.
Without warning, he lifts his hand and twists it. Simultaneously, the metal binds around Chen’s hands twist tighter. Chen yells, looking down at them, fresh blood dripping from the cuts that the metal has made.
You’re just as incapacitated as he is. You could blink back to the safety of the outside anytime. But that would mean leaving Chen behind - and you care for him too much to do that. You care for him, and you want him out of here with you, alive.
With a start, you realize this isn’t a new feeling. Somehow, you’ve always cared for him - it isn’t just a recent development, from when you became allies. As you stare down the Dragon, waiting for his next move, images flash through your mind. Chen catching you as you fell to certain death. Chen with his hand around your waist, protecting you. Chen’s quiet words on top of the Spire as he told you what he really felt. Today, Chen with his small words of reassurance and his hand in yours as you made your way down to the Black Dragon.
You feel determination seep back into you.
“Come on, Dragon,” you seethe, moving in a slow circle. “I got past them. Now let us go.”
He bares his teeth. “If you can get out of here yourself.”
You have no idea how you’re going to beat him, but you have a plan to escape. A simple one that you’re kicking yourself for not having thought of earlier.
The Blade in your hand - made of metal - crumples into a useless lump under the force of his powers. You watch it drop to the ground in shock.
The Dragon smiles. “Can’t have you at an advantage.”
He pulls out a gun. The safety clicks off.
Of all the things you’re slower than, it has to be a gun. Your teleportation is only as fast as your reflexes, after all, and right now you don’t trust your reflexes at all.
He doesn’t pull it on you, though. Slowly, he presses it to Chen’s temple.
Now you’re totally fucked.
Could your plan still work? If you managed to distract the Dragon long enough…
You loosen your stance, faking being more tired than you already are. In response, you see the Dragon’s smile widen ever so slightly. You see it. He thinks he’s got you. He thinks you’re going to surrender, just like that.
“It’s this easy, Rush,” says the Dragon, not moving the gun away. “Even after all you did - after all the efforts of good - see how quickly I turned your work to nothing. How quickly I won. You don’t have it in you, Rush. You aren’t strong enough to be a hero.”
You’re not going to surrender. You are a hero - murderer or not - and good always beats evil. Doesn’t it?
You watch him, going over every possibility, every opportunity for escape. He goes on. “This is why evil never truly disappears. Because we’re not afraid to trick you. To deceive you. You have to be cunning to survive in this world. You have to be manipulative. I see it in you, Rush. You may not be strong enough to be a hero, but you’re smart enough to be a villain.”
The gun is made of metal.
Your eyes narrow, infinitesimally, meeting Chen’s from across the room. You stare at him, making sure he’s looking at you. Focused on you. Then you shake your hand quickly, making it spasm. Mimicking a shock.
Barely, he nods his understanding.
“Join, me, Rush.”
Your gaze doesn’t leave Chen’s. You see him take a small breath, steel himself. The minuscule twist of his hands, palms touching each other.
The Dragon shudders violently as current courses through the gun and into him. The same trick Chen pulled on you in the warehouse, all those days ago. You don’t waste a second more as the Dragon falls to the ground, fingers detached from the gun but still jerking uncontrollably.
You grab Chen’s hand and blink to safety.
You have no idea where you’ve landed, but you’re out of the Black Dragon and away from the main street. It’s dark, pitch black almost, save for a single beam of light shooting across the roof, and your hands shake as you feel around for Chen.
“I’m here,” he says softly, his hand closing around yours as you touch it.
“Good,” you say, and you’re crying again, this time with relief. You haven’t pushed yourself so hard in one day ever before, never with the weight of emotions like this. Never with the pressure of actually fighting your way out of a life-or-death situation. Never with the guilt of two deaths on your conscience. “Let’s see those binds, shall we?”
The tremor in your voice is obvious, but he doesn’t say anything, and for that you’re grateful. Your fingers find their way to his wrists, running over the metal to find the point where they twist together. Biting your lip, you wind it open. Chen hisses as you graze the cuts around his wrists. “I’m sorry,” you whisper. “Sorry.”
The binds come off, dropping to the ground with a small clatter. “I’m sorry,” you say again, and it’s not just for now - but for getting him into this in the first place, for putting him through this with you.
His hand slides up your arm until it’s cupping the side of your face. “Don’t be.” He swallows thickly. “You were amazing.”
“Thank you,” you mumble, heat rising at his touch.
He strokes your face. “I mean it. You saved my life, Rush.”
You chuckle brokenly. “Well, I owed you, didn’t I?”
His hand moves from your cheek to your forehead, pushing away the strand of hair that’s falling in your face. The touch lingers, your skin burning at the contact.
It’s dark, isn’t it?
Slowly, you pull down your mask. The cool air hits your lips. Then you feel for his face. You can hear his breathing; heavy not from tiredness but from anticipation, warm on your fingertips as you pull his mask away, too.
“Can I?” You murmur, already leaning closer. He holds his breath.
You press your lips to his, molding them together. Instantly, you forget everything. There’s only him - the hitch of his breath, the deep hum of a moan in his throat as you move your mouth against his. His hands rest on your hips, pulling you over his lap, his thumbs rubbing slow circles into your side. It feels like hours. Just the both of you, as one in the darkness. You want to feel nothing but him. You thread your hands through his hair, tugging back so he leans up to meet you, his breath pouring into your mouth as he moves his fingers up your waist. “Rush,” he whispers between kisses. “Rush.”
“Mmm.”
“Rush.”
Finally, reluctantly, you pull away, only just remembering to pull your mask up before he can see your face. He doesn’t, though. And in the bare light, you see his features. Every inch of you going rigid as you recognize them. As you realize who he - Chen - is.
“Jongdae?” It slips from your mouth without you meaning to.
The world spins to a halt.
His grip on you turns vice-like. “How do you know my name?”
You don’t say anything. You can’t say anything. In front of you is the man you fell in love with twice over, in two different worlds. The man you just kissed. Dynamo, Chen. Jongdae. Both the same person.
Of all the things that had happened today, this was something you’d never expected.
“Rush. How do you know my name?”
You scramble to your feet, eyes wide. Mind blank. “I - I-”  You don’t know what to do.
So you do the only thing you can: run.
a/n: this is late and it’s a bit unorganized BUT at least i give you smoochies and angst :D

Chocolate Box Letter 2020
Dear Chocolatier…
Thank you for writing for me!  I hope you find inspiration, if you need it, somewhere in this letter, but either way, good luck with your writing!
(some of the prompts are… rambly and disjointed; the lengths vary wildly, but dw I love them all.  I hope the rambly ones still make sense; this letter is uhhh almost 3k and my brain is Tired.)
General DNWs:
Rape/non/dub-con; non-canonical major character death*; smut/graphic sex scenes; heavy angst; hurt no comfort; graphic depictions of deliberate and methodical self-harm**; graphic depictions of suicide;  gore; heavy gender dysphoria; grimdark; complete downer endings; character bashing; incest; cringe comedy; a/b/o; mpreg; full setting AUs (canon-divergence, even significant canon-divergence, is fine); graphic eye trauma; graphic and/or permanent hand trauma (unless the setting can provide a more-or-less fully functional prosthetic or equivalent); issuefic.
*exceptions noted below.
**I don’t include things like, say, punching a wall in a fit of emotion under this. however, something like cutting would not be appreciated.
  General Likes:
I like family/friendship stories, things that play with canon in interesting ways, honestly… a lot of things.  I don’t know. articulating things I like is hard.
I’m an absolute sucker for identity porn/secret/mistaken identity drama, as well as non-sexualized/non-fetishized crossdressing (either direction, and especially if for plot-relevant disguise purposes!) and if you combine them, well, I’ll be a very happy camper.
Other things I like include wriggling into canon and exploring something left unexplored by said canon, what-if stories featuring some sort of canon divergence, and plotty fic, if you want to write something long enough for that to be relevant.
  Order of fandoms:
·        Star Wars Sequel Trilogy
·        Super Powereds – Drew Hayes
·        Tortall – Tamora Pierce
·        Carmen Sandiego (Cartoon 2019)
·        The Dragon Prince (Cartoon)
·        Frozen (Disney Movies)
·        Little Women (2019)
·        Original Prompts
·        Crossovers
    Star Wars Sequel Trilogy
Rey & Ben Solo | Kylo Ren (Star Wars Sequel Trilogy)
So uh I may be having a slight case of Feels™ over these two, though tbh I’m not entirely sure what those feelings are exactly.  I don’t know what exactly I’d most want, though I’d be interested in explorations of their evolving emotions in relation to each other, especially through Kylo Ren/Ben’s whole death/rebirth thing.  What-ifs are another thing; what if, say, Ben didn’t die?  What happens, then, since they’d have to actually deal with what he’s done?  Feel free to retcon the kiss (which I thought was rather devoid of chemistry; in general their dynamic came across to me more as weirdly sibling-ish, especially after the Death Star duel) to a hug or something, if you want.
If you want to go to a lighter place, I can also see all sorts of shenanigans emerging after they discover their Force-teleportation skills.
Also feel free to retcon Rey’s parentage, if that is where your heart takes you: might she be Luke’s secret child?  Leia’s?  A descendant of Obi-Wan Kenobi and, say, Satine Kryze?
Apart from that I’d prefer no full-setting AUs; canon divergence is fine, and if you go that route you can pick a divergence point as far back as you want.
Feel free to include whatever other characters are necessary for the story you want to tell.
(And also do keep in mind that you can absolutely cut off someone’s hand here, or for the Star Wars crossover farther down; in this franchise it is a goddamn motif.)
    Super Powereds – Drew Hayes
Adam Riley & George Russel | Relentless Steel (Super Powereds)
I’m utterly fascinated by the relationship these two have; the interplay of Adam’s… vendetta, maybe?  I’m not sure what the right word for it is… and the fact that George also serves him as a mentor/almost-parental, in some ways, figure.  And, you know, that Adam (maybe) kills him.  We don’t actually see that; for all we know he made a different choice.
Consider this an exception to my “non-canonical MCD” DNW, since it’s deliberately ambiguous in canon; you can kill George, if that’s where your muse takes you.
Alice Adair | Legacy & Vince Reynolds | Jack of All (Super Powereds)
Their friendship/cousin relationship is Wholesome and I love it.  Any point in the timeline, post-canon, all of it is Good and Welcome.  Do they form a legacy children/villains’ kids club? They’re secret cousins; untangling the mess that is the past; so much juicy juicy stuff to work with!!
Phillip Adair | Globe & Charles Adair | Alchemist (Super Powereds)
Brother vs brother! O the drama! But also, they grew up together; they were once best friends; and Charles grew hard and it all fell apart—give me their childhood, maybe, or HCP years or young heroes before Shelby’s powers grew too much for her, or lean into the tragedy of what comes later…
    Tortall – Tamora Pierce
Numair Salmalín | Arram Draper & Varice Kingsford (Tortall)
Numair Salmalín | Arram Draper & Varice Kingsford & Ozorne Muhassin Tasikhe (Tortall)
Ozorne Muhassin Tasikhe & Numair Salmalín | Arram Draper (Tortall)
Varice Kingsford & Ozorne Muhassin Tasikhe (Tortall)
I love these kids, okay?  And I wish they could all just… be okay.  But of course they won’t be; we already know what becomes of them, after all.
There’s a lot to explore here, with these three in their varying combinations of course.  Right now I’m most interested in the pre-Wild Magic timeline—what was Varice and Ozorne’s dynamic before Arram came along? what little snippets of things happen offscreen during the timeline of Tempests and Slaughter? how does Arram gain his black robe; how does Ozorne feel about that? Varice? how does Numair end up in exile, and how do the others feel about that whole affair?—but really I’d also be interested in something set during or around the time of Emperor Mage, from any of their POVs.  We get all the story there from Daine, who is great! but she doesn’t know the history between the three of them, not intimately as they do, and I’d love any of their emotional reactions to being together again under such strained circumstances, so many years after everything fell apart.
Numair Salmalín & Myles of Olau (Tortall)
He was on a mission, was he not, when he became that hawk at the beginning of Wild Magic?  (please ignore if I am Wrong there.)  So how did they meet?  Why did Numair become an agent?  All sorts of questions, here…
Prince Stiloit Tasikhe & Varice Kingsford (Tortall - Pierce)
Stiloit seems so… calm, and level-headed, especially when compared with Ozorne who is not.  And he clearly finds Varice interesting, and her company valuable.  So maybe tell me something about that—what does he think of her?  She of him?  What if, perhaps, he didn’t die when he does?
Keladry of Mindelan & Nealan of Queenscove (Tortall)
They have a BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIP and also ye gods when I reread First Test at like 19 (having first read it at 10) I was struck by how very, very fifteen Neal is in that book and it’s hilarious.  But more seriously—Neal’s PoV on things would be fantastic, since we only see him through Kel’s eyes and he doesn’t let her see everything about himself.
Keladry of Mindelan & Raoul of Goldenlake and Malorie's Peak (Tortall - Pierce)
What a beautiful mentorship relationship, I love them.  Also, how does Raoul feel about this open girl page?  Who’s so determined, and has such potential in how she could become more, in an area he knows about (that being military command)—how does he feel about her, living her best life; how does he contextualize it in his intimate knowledge that Alanna could not do what she is doing—and yet it was Alanna, with her deception, who allowed this to be.
Alanna of Pirate's Swoop and Olau & Numair Salmalín
The renowned lady knight-healer-mage and the black robe on the run from Carthak! How did they meet, anyway?  They’re something like the same age, I think, or at least he’s no more than ten years her junior.
Alanna of Pirate's Swoop and Olau & Thom of Trebond (Tortall - Pierce)
My poor Important Destiny Twins… Look I just, I want some content with poor Thom, right?  I’d rather here that we set the story before his death, or that we make it an AU where he gets to live.
    Carmen Sandiego (Cartoon 2019)
Shadowsan & Hideo (Carmen Sandiego 2019)
There’s… so little of this stated or shown overtly, really, but I’m fascinated.  I can’t get over it.  Just tell me about the brothers, please.
    The Dragon Prince (Cartoon)
Runaan/Ethari & Rayla (The Dragon Prince)
Family fluff!  Or angst!  Or turn round and give them a reunion!  All depends on where in the timeline you pick, really.
(there’s a fic on ao3 with the tag “this fanfiction written by the ETHARI LOOK IN THE FUCKING WATER gang” and honestly that is just such a mood.)
Amaya & Sarai (The Dragon Prince)
…I don’t have much to say here really, just that I love me some sibling dynamics.
Callum & Ezran (The Dragon Prince)
A king by birthright, a prince only by adoption, who by age/maturity would probably be better-suited to ruling… look idk just, bros okay???
Maybe something when they were younger, or canon-era, or… idk I love them.
Callum & Ezran & Rayla (The Dragon Prince)
Friendship! Angst! The gang’s all here!  If you want you can include rayllum but for this prompt at least I’d rather it be lowkey.
Claudia & Soren (The Dragon Prince)
I am heartbroken over these kids and just—I need more content with them.  Even if it makes me sad.
Callum & King Harrow (The Dragon Prince)
There are a lot of complicated feelings I have about them—how clearly Harrow loves his stepson, and how even after more than a decade, Callum still isn’t quite comfortable with his stepfather.
    Frozen (Disney Movies)
Agnarr/Iduna (Frozen)
How did they get together?  Why does Iduna stay with Agnarr; why doesn’t she just go home?  How does that revelation conversation go—when does it happen?  How do they come to decide to block Elsa’s powers; when/how do they decide to sail for Ahtohallan?
  Kristoff & Ryder Nattura (Frozen)
Reindeer bros!!  What did Kristoff do while Anna and Elsa were off doing the plot stuff?  Does he go with the Northuldra?  I love the dynamic between these two; it’s adorable and there’s so painfully little of it.
  Yelena & Mattias (Frozen)
So clearly they know each other, right? It’s been thirty-four years, and they clearly have some sort of sniping thing going on but they don’t seem to be actively antagonistic towards each other.  How do they feel about each other, really? How have they interacted in the past?  Is there anything there?  What about after Mattias goes back to Arendelle?
  Anna & Elsa (Frozen)
There is just.  There’s a profound tragedy here—they’re best of friends till they’re five and eight or so, then they don’t interact for thirteen years, they have three years together, and then they go off together to the Enchanted Forest and Elsa doesn’t come back to live in Arendelle, while Anna must return… I don’t know.  Tell me about that, maybe.  Or give me sweet fluff about them as children.  Or something.
  Anna/Kristoff (Frozen)
They’re adorable and I love them and I really just want more.  Maybe something from between the movies—how do they navigate forming a relationship, when he was raised by trolls and she’s been so isolated?
    Little Women (2019)
Amy March/Theodore Laurence (Little Women 2019)
…I don’t know, they’re cute, Laurie is a disaster, I love seeing Amy grow up, I hunger for moar content with them.
Beth March & Mr. Laurence (Little Women 2019)
This has a lot of potential for cute/sad father/daughter dynamics, I think!  And I’d love more of it.
Friedrich Bhaer & Josephine March (Little Women 2019)
Friedrich Bhaer/Josephine March (Little Women 2019)
I just want cute content with Jo and her dynamic with this man who actually respects her and her writing okay?  Maybe something like, I don’t know, navigation of boundaries around Jo’s writing and his criticism thereof… I don’t know.  Have fun with them.  And I really don’t care if it’s shipfic or not.
Theodore "Laurie" Laurence & Josephine March (Little Women 2019)
Theodore Laurence & Josephine March (Little Women 2019)
Laurie is still a disaster but I love him anyway, and their friendship is sweet, and I need more content™.
    Original Prompts
In general: I’m not super picky about how shippy the shipfic gets; most of the ship prompts here would, I think, work as well for gen, excepting the suitor and the princess (which is not to say I’m asking that it be gen, obviously I’m not, but if your muse takes you that direction then go for it).  Likes I put up top still apply down here.
In terms of settings, I especially like high fantasy, space fantasy, or, if relevant, Classic Superhero City Setting, but I’m open to just about anything.
I’m also not tremendously picky about the genders of the characters involved; if it isn’t stated within the prompt, go wild, but please do stick to standard English pronouns; I have a lot of difficulty reading things with neopronouns.
Most of these pairings are prompts in and of themselves, but I’ll add in some bits of commentary for each one.
Disgraced Vampire Queen Moonlighting As A Barista/Exhausted Vampire Hunter In Search Of Caffeine
Okay, so I just think this has great potential for absolute hilarity, and identity shenanigans aplenty.
Dragon & Human Child (Original Work)
I love dragons.  I love playing with dragon-lore, though here I’d appreciate it being a relationship wherein the dragon is not evil, at least not to the child.
Female Crossdressing General/Female Crossdressing Enemy General (Original Work)
So uh from my general likes, it should be… fairly obvious what called to me here lmao.  But there’s such potential here!  The drama!  Do they know each others’ real gender?  Do they know that they’re on opposing sides?  How does this romance across the battlefield work?  Is it even across the battlefield—are they at war, or just generally enemies?
Female Failed Chosen One & Female New Chosen One
Such delicious depths to delve here… why did the first one fail?  What’s her relationship with her successor?  What have they been chosen for?  The setup of this makes me think that the failed chosen one is an adult of some age that’s distinctly older than the new one, who I’ve been imagining as an older child or young adult, but you should follow your muse there.
Female Ship's Captain & Grumpy Stowaway Orphan Rebel
What kind of ship are they on, anyway?  Sailing ship?  Spaceship?  What’s the orphan rebelling against—an Evil Empire?  The Man?  Something else?
Female Suitor Sent As An Insult To Ruling Monarchs/Princess Uninterested In Male Suitors
This seems like… I don’t know, there’s just such potential for dancing around each other and Misunderstandings™ about what’s going on.  Is this the princess’s Gay Awakening?  Has she known for a while why she’s not into the male suitors?  Why was this female suitor selected for the insult?
Injured Male Superhero/Male Supervillain Who Saves His Life
I love superhero identity shenanigans, and ambiguous morals, and I’d love to dive into the emotional turmoil that results from this rescue decision—why does the supervillain do it?  How does the hero feel about being saved by his enemy?
Musician/Dancer with magical powers (Original Work)
Another trope I love that I didn’t mention before is magic music and magical arts in general, so this here is right up my alley.
Portal Fantasy Protagonist & Their Mentor In A Trade Useful In Both Worlds (Original Work)
…Look, idk man this is just sweet and wholesome and I Want.
Retired Male Superhero/Male Supervillain Who Keeps Seeking Him Out Because He Misses Him
Is this not just the plot of Megamind?  In all seriousness, though, I feel about the same here as I do in the injury situation; I love me some hero/villain dynamics in general.
  Witch & Witch's Apprentice
Mentor and student!  Always a fun time.  I’m picturing this as some pseudo-historical or straight alternate-world setting more than modern, but follow your muse here.
Wounded Werewolf/Female Apprentice Witch who Begrudgingly Rescues him (OW)
Honestly I feel like the dynamic here will probably scratch the same itch that the hero/villain pairings do.  Clearly I have a Type.
    Crossovers
Oliver Queen (DC's Arrowverse) & Matt Murdock (Daredevil(TV))
Local Vigilante Man With Many Issues Meets Counterpart From Another Universe would be the headline here, probably.  I don’t know.  I think they’d be fun to bounce off each other.
For reference though I haven’t watched all of either show: I’ve seen the first four seasons of Arrow in their entirety and some of what comes later, and I’ve seen the first two seasons of Daredevil.  You can reference later events, I’m not currently really following either show and am not particularly worried about spoilers, but without some degree of context I’ll be fairly lost.
Shmi Skywalker (SWPT) & Ben Solo | Kylo Ren (SWST)
How do these two meet?  Is it time travel nonsense?  Shmi as a Force ghost?  Both of them in the afterlife?  And if it’s before Ben’s redemption but after his Fall, I do rather hope she’s Disappointed™ in him.
Vince Reynolds | Jack of All (Super Powereds) & Midoriya Izuku (My Hero Academia)
Look.  Look.  All I have ever wanted since I started watching My Hero Academia (which… I haven’t seen much of, but don’t worry about spoilers I legitimately do not care) is to see Vince meet with the character who I immediately internally dubbed tiny green Vince.  How did this happen? Frankly I neither know nor care.  I just want to see it happen.
Thank you for writing me fic!!

since the weather’s a little sunny with a chance of superhero au on my dash here’s blueprints for an muse+aqours one i made but never shared; ‘tis nearly a year old
Blurb: Once upon a time in Japan’s Capital of Heroes™ (slightly sci-fi Akihabara) there was a team of seven superheroes that the public Idolized (hehe). since i’m reconstructing my memory by pulling stuff out of my ass we’ll call them the Dream Team, and atm they still dont have permanent superhero names but they were Honoka (glorious leader), Umi, Kotori, Eli, Nozomi, Nico and Maki.
They ran a good four years of Justice until one day Super Nozomi went MIA, which was bad because she had a pretty important role in keeping the whole band together. It Was Never The Same Again. stuff went downhill from there--Super Nico and Super Maki handled a lot of the PR after that which made it even worse when they disappeared next. the rumor mill revved up 2 turbo mode, and the public p much thought that the Dream Team’s time was over. a few hopefuls held that they’d get back on their feet somehow, but unfortunately for them especially, the next person to go missing after a heroic deed was glorious leader Honoka.
what was left of the dream team was more than just discouraged, but even after this, they still had to defend Justice. so they kept it up.
As they continued to work, tracking down their old teammates on the side, their biggest fan, Chika Takami from Uchiura (far far from sci-fi akiba) discovers her own set of superpowers, and alongside her friend You, a nearly-graduated sidekick herself, they visit sci-fi akiba to get advice and hopefully lend a hand to her heroes.
the visit goes awry when an evil robot that makes things blow up attacks, but that incident allows Chika and You a chance to join their heroes For Real. from there, the Dream Team (with the help of the Chikafriends) try to rebuild their name
and now for the good, the bad, and the wishy-washy (good vs. bad according to in-universe news outlets and idk genre meta stuff)
The Good Guys
Like any respectable team of superheroes, these guys all work together in the same city, same HQ. (also for Reasons i gave everyone archnemeses so in case everyone has to fight in an epic battle of life or death we know what the matchups are, but also they really do fight each other often and there are personal issues there)
1. Eli: - the new leader, taking the position after Honoka. kinda stressed out since the team’s in a bit of a tight spot as far as public and government approval goes. - she’s kitsune themed not just because i’m unoriginal, but Also because it’s matchy-matchy with shrine-priestess-themed nozomi - they might’ve been a two-person team before joining honk & co. idk - her powers include anti-demon blue fire, Regular blue fire, antigravity (limited to herself, so she can jump kinda floaty), and a spirit sense that clues her in on how her Squad is - manages the team overall - archnemesis:  Super Kanan
2. Umi: - the second-in-command, even when honk was around - aside from being publicly acknowledged as a superhero and being four years older, she’s basically canon umi groomed for heroism - No secret identity. the sonoda family is a family of superpowerless superheroes that’s been in action since the birth of newspaper - blames herself the most for what happened to honk - her “powers” include archery, swordsmanship, being Umi, and several martial arts. probably can also use a gun if she has to. - Team Chika’s advisor, kind of. she signed up to take responsibility for them - Not ‘Batman With A Sword’!! - archnemesis: Super Dia
3. Kotori - Mom - also Very Super. superhuman strength, flight, fire and wind manipulation, six big strong wings, supernatural senses. she’s a seraph, george - a watcher-type angel, too. generally has some idea of what’s going on in akiba, but she still appreciates surveillance technology bc even she wants to turn her brain off sometimes - the Chikasquad likes to go to her to circumvent Umi’s Iron Fisted Ass. it works 90% of the time - best public approval. very nice to people she saves. spends the most time outside HQ for solo Justice, and sometimes even leaves the city for a bit - archnemesis: Super Yoshiko
4. Hanayo - formerly an apprentice of nico. she joined the team properly shortly after nico went missing, and succeeded her Super Identity even if their powers and uh personality are kinda different - still learning about her powers! learns very quickly though. kind of a natural actually, and would be a grade-A hero if she was a little less shy in front of the news - already a part of the team, but relates to the Chikasquad about being treated like a trainee. she is a cool super senpai - her powers include superhuman strength, speed and senses, regeneration, near invulnerability. very powerful, but the powers only recently stabilized👀 - she keeps rin’s secrets but at what cost - archnemesis: none really; ruby’s kinda her “villainous” counterpart but she’s hardly a villain and they’re even kinda friends
5. Riko - kinda like maki’s sidekick. not a proper member of the team because her powers are hard to learn and she’s still young and inexperienced - technically ChikaYou’s senior in the crimefighting department, but she’s not looking to be a leader - ChikaYou think she’s good enough to be promoted to proper membership. Riko has Doubts - manipulates Sound. very complicated power like if she’s not careful she could level a portion of city by making somethin loud enough. also she can do stuff like distort her voice, mimic other voices, make noise from out of nowhere, etc. stretch the science a lil i guess - one morbid technique maki taught her is to make a heart beat so loud it kind of explodes and breaks the person’s chest from the inside. Stretch the Science - also, superhuman hearing and some acrobatics skill - archnemesis: Super Maki
6. Chika - Honoka’s biggest fan!!! - more clever than she appears, but also may be a bit too eager to leap into the fray - takes the lead whenever she, You and Riko fight crime, but still thinks they’re better suited to think of strategy and stuff. tends to be in the middle anyway. - hopes to get the respect that will make the Dream Team finally tell her what dark secrets they’re hiding about The Incidents. she can smell a conspiracy - kind of weird powers. flight, fireballs (more like small stars really), small to mid-scale explosions, heat resistance, invulnerability to burns, regeneration. she can survive alone in space too but that’s not coming up anytime soon - archnemesis: Super Honoka, but she has to learn it’s Honoka
7. You - formerly a sidekick to her father (i call him Captain Pacific) she’s now an independent super identity - before chika got her powers they had that dynamic where theyre like ‘Superhero in high school + their normal best friend who knows their secret identity’ and she got this old mindset where she as a super needs to keep chika safe even now that chika has powers and can finally return the favor - also kind of?? rivals with riko?? not romantically, more like city hero vs. small town hero, plans vs. action, etc. these differences are kind of why chika’s the leader - her superhero identity is liger-themed fsr???? i don’t know!! shes not a boat or an anchor in any case. big cats make good superheroes maybe -  superhuman strength and senses, water manipulation, night vision, Buoyancy manipulation (she will make things float in the air if she wants, george). also some special armor. not the type for spandex   - archnemesis: Super Rin (Not because she’s the other nya)
The Bad Guys
like your usual rogues gallery, these guys dont really work together and just wreak havoc independently....... until the big twist that they all really Were in cahoots reveals itself!!! idk if they are tho, the good guys ^ are where most of my brainpower went. theyre numbered but really there’s no order.
1. Nico - in a villainous trio with RinMaki, kind of their leader - her aesthetic now that she’s Evil is assassin-ish which is totally Not nico. the cops will never suspect heehee (she doesnt kill people tho even if she totally can) - her powers include super regeneration (yes Super), super senses, and super strength. also now she has knives n swords n guns. Deadpool nico - for her mundane identity she’s a nico nico neet i think, living apart from her family - archnemesis: Mari, but in an ‘oh fuck not you again’ way kinda
2. Rin - Hanayo’s old friend. she lets hanayo in on the fact that she’s workin on some shady stuff with nickmack but she also asks hanayo to only tip the team off at the right time...... mysterious - currently maki’s schoolmate in her mundane identity. keeps up with schoolwork and crime despite having no life-juggling training with the help of her superpowers - rin is fast in that her neural system works at multiple times the speed of a regular person. fast brain, fast action, a+ coordination and memory skills. more clever than your average rin - also she’s still a star athlete that can parkour with the best of them and recently got her paws on some high-tech hacker/spyware. eventually she even learns to mod it herself - she’s lynx themed get it -leaves villain calling cards. for The Plan - archnemesis: Super You
3. Maki - kinda very sad about leaving her old team, esp riko, whom she was supposed to mentor, but like she wont show it - sure they steal but she still has Money just in case. also she has some houses to hide out in i guess - kind of mission control now. only reveals herself in the most dramatic moments. kind of a big deal - regenerates, can help others regenerate, can straight up manipulate blood n stuff. can also sense heartbeats and make hearts explode (not that she has). Danger danger - archnemesis: Super Riko :(
4. Yoshiko - Died and was resurrected as some kind of pseudo-angel ofc. doesnt remember her life as a human and fsr nothing comes up in investigation either. slightly concerned about the fact that no one who knew her is looking for her and about the lack of such people in the first place - has a bad handle on her powers. her flight and invulnerability do their jobs, but her fires start at bad times and her feathers feel a little more like needles than down and Also they shoot. porcupine bullet wings. her super senses give her headaches. sucks to be her - her flavor of villainy is more like ‘local safety hazard flies again’ - ‘yoshiko’s dead, george. I’m yohane now’  - archnemesis: Super Kotori, whom she’s naturally opposed to fsr
5. Ruby - woke up from some kind of sci-fi stasis with powers, was confused, accidentally blew shit up and got locked up. very stressful beginning for ruby - she’s staying in the basement of HQ while they observe her and try to help her manage her explosive powers. Hanayo, especially, tries to help - vaguely remembers having a sister. also has positive feelings about some ‘hanamaru’ - again her archnemesis is a Friend so
6. Dia - woke up from some kind of sci-fi stasis missing some of her old skeleton and a portion of her spine. she’s part terminator now - on that note she’s got Very Fast reflexes now and among other things, a more efficient circulatory system. doesnt tire easily. also immune to electric shock and is cybernetically connected with her special Not-Adamantium™ sword+armor. most bullet wounds are nonlethal to her. - is looking for ruby. among other things - incidentally her mask is very important to her because her mole as a facial feature is really incriminating. no clark kenting for her - lowkey wanted to be Eli’s right hand man in the past. ended up being enemies with Eli’s actual right hand - archnemesis: Umi
7. Kanan - she’s like if sharkboy was also a waterbender and an eel. aqualad but with more Teeth. u feel - tbh idk what her personal agenda is anymore but she’s kind of a cowboy - buddies with dia in both their identities. inconvenient hiding her gills tho - also they share origin stories but the corrosive vat of radioactive waste or w/e turned her into a fish person instead of melting her from the inside like it did with dia - archnemesis: Super Eli
The Other Guys
the news doesnt know what to make of them. theyre very mysterious
1. Honoka - honoka’s body is missing (hidden in an evil lair somewhere) but portions of her mind and powers were uploaded into a robot. honkbot gradually gets more honoka-like with every encounter it was with the Dream Team - as a robot, her steel does not melt and no substance on earth can scratch it. probably can crush her tho  - Lots of Fire. breathes fire, shoots fire, flies with fire, kind of a human-shaped tank with flamethrowers. honoka as a fleshy also could not be burnt (but she probs couldnt survive in space) - honoka’s mind does her best to hack the robot. with her mind. - archnemesis: Super Chika ofc
2. Nozomi - knows shit. what shit? only she knows - kind of friendly with yoshiko and tries to help out but yoshiko is equal parts shy and abrasive with people so they dont hang much - telepathic, can see spirits, sometimes gets glimpses of the future. her cards can cut things - the wildest of wildcards. gives tips to Everyone - also leaves contact cards. she can weaponize them tho - no archnemesis
3. Hanamaru - i’ll be frank i have no idea what maru can do but chances are she’s met nozomi - most likely a human burdened with knowledge of super affairs - maybe she remembers yoshiko too. maybe she connects it all - no archnemesis
4. Mari - powers: Money. also her left arm is entirely robotic. she lost it saving kanan and dia from radioactive Death. it’s bulletproof, can shoot things, communicate with her personal vehicles, and has wifi tho - doesnt really involve herself much with stuff going on but she’s biding her time and savings, waiting for The Right Moment. vague - keeps an eye on everyone and everything but especially KanaDia, who have unfortunately split up from her. she keeps them alive tho - actually she’s responsible for turning Dia into Samurai!Terminator. (dia consented to it ofc) - no secret identity! mari ohara being a cyborg is just another celebrity fun fact - archnemesis: Super Nico, who keeps stealing her stuff!! she doesnt mind too much tho
side info: - the Dream Team are also kind of the spiritual successors of Tsubasa, Anju and Erena (we’ll call them the Arisers). Honoka is Tsubasa’s literal successor, but by the time of that succession the three of them has disbanded, mostly bc Tsubasa fuckin Died. - saint snow are probably telepathic parkour artists or someth. also good guys tho. if the plot ever goes to sci-fi hokkaido we’ll see them there - t b h  shion girls academy are their own justice league, and YG international school are international supers who do superheroics in two countries. supers everywhere - Captain Pacific is an international super too - right now it’s no plot just lore
