Heisei Project: Imitation Hero Keyword & Character Data
"White Noise"
A phenomenon that occurred in the Surface World 10 years ago. The sky was eerily self-inflicted for 10 minutes. With this phenomenon as a boundary, magic was given to the Surface World, and the world continues to be devastated as a result.
"Awakeners"
It is a general term for those who gained magical powers in the Surface World where magic originally didn't exist. The exact number isn't known, but it is said to be one hundred thousandth of the world's population.
"Deviators"
A criminal who uses their magic for evil in the Surface World. It is assumed that magic drives them crazy because they regain their humanity when they lose their powers.

Magic: Explosion Magic "Division Bomb"
He has mastered rare gunpowder synthesis magic and includes grenades, smoke screens, device bombs, etc. He can produce a wide variety of bombs. Remote generation is less powerful.
Even before he realized it, he was detained in a Church facility without knowing his family. Growing up, Mikage and Rei's presence began his interest in the unknown. He sees them as heroes, and at the same time, wants to be equals. He is basically out of touch with other people's subtleties and gets scolded by Kureha for making careless remarks.

Basically, he has a gentle, reasonable and reserved personality, but he cherishes Mikage, his only relative, above all else. He doesn't mind sacrificing anything to protect his sister. Without thinking, he said those words beside Toki as a child, who looked at him deeply as if he were just amazing.

Dark magic that uses a sheet called by magic as a medium and releases a sharp blade.
Leader of Dominant and sister of Rei. Among the Dominants, she entered the Church facility last. She was beginning to feel burdened by her weak brother in a harsh environment, but when she was dying in the Church facility, she was sheltered by Rei. From then on, she decided to protect her younger brother for the rest of her life. Usually cool, but when a friend is hurt, her inner passion breaks out. Her everyday life is rough.

Magic: Far-sight "Telathika"
He can look down over a wide area to search for enemies and gather information from the perspective of birds flying in the sky.
A boy who is dressed as a shrine maiden but has a strong history. He is like the youngest son of Dominant with a weak-willed personality and doesn't like to fight. Compared to the other members, he feels inferior and sees himself as timid and useless in battle. People often mistake him for a girl and flirt with him, but he's unaware of this.

She's interested in girly things but doesn't really show it.

Magic: None
Originally a resident of the Surface World but was flown back and forth into the Reverse World when Rei was taken to the Surface World. He is indebted to Mikage who looked after him in a strange world. He has little interest in anything other than swords, and for Hirokina, who was better than anyone else at his parents' dojo, there were no good opponents. The promise of a second duel with Sana was the only thing that got his blood pumping. His favorite sword is Izanami, the sacred sword.

Magic: Fire Magic "Flamegia"
Fires a flame from a pistol-shaped magic gun.
She lost her parents to Deviators and formed the Heisei Snipers to eliminate Deviators. She has a strong sense of justice and a strong will once she has made up her mind. To put it bluntly, she's stubborn. The people around her are worried because she acts on her conscience.

Magic: Magic Rifle "Kill Sniper"
He is good at long-range sniping with a rifle-shaped magic gun and can freely adjust the power of the bullet.

He had no place in his family, and while walking around game centers, he was invited by Haku to become a member of the Heisei Snipers. To be cautious and protect his friends, he's willing to play the role of being disliked with his bluntness. In love with Akari, but hasn't confessed.

Treat the wounds or disease of the person touched.
Haku and Akari are her childhood friends. She has a girlish personality of her age but has a violent temper. She is good at cooking and lives mainly in her daily life. She has romantic feelings for Haku but doesn't want to reveal her feelings and gets jealous of any man who approaches Haku. Was given "fluctuations" by KIKI and had her jealousy amplified.

A transparent film that can be cast around oneself or others that reflects a magical attack. Defensive magic.
His parents belong to the Church and told him "Tell the Surface World about the threat of KIKI. He was ordered to "Block their plan" and came to the Surface World, but lost his memory as he passed through the Gate, and was protected by the Heisei Snipers. By coming into contact with people from the Reverse World, such as Dominant, he gradually recovers his memory. The cat he has is a sealing device given to him by the Church.

Magic: Forgotten Bullet "Noise Shutter"
A pearl white magic pistol can be summoned and the magic ability of Awakeners can be negated with its bullet.
The always calm chief of staff of the Heisei Snipers. The main activity of the Heisei Snipers is to calm down Deviators by erasing their magic with Akari's Noise Shutter. She is full of intellectual curiosity, and bombarded Fuyuto with questions as he had just come from the Reverse World, and was also interested in Kureha and her connection to herself. Kureha has exactly the same genes, and it is presumed that they were born both Surface and Reverse due to the influence of an unstable world.

A serious young man who lives in the art of swordsmanship. In a joint match against Takenaka Dojo, He lost to Hirokina and vowed to fight him again. He doesn't seem to care much about anything other than swords, and he's a little out of it. His favorite sword is Izanagi.

Magic: Use Rei's body to absorb and release magic.
Rei's behind-the-scenes personality created by KIKI. KIKI is her master and is programmed to obey their instructions. Because she was created to have the opposite nature of Rei, she's cruel and forced to enjoy hurting and degrading people. The color of her eyes is symmetrical to Rei.

"Since the emergence of the first damned atomic lizard, our world had entered an Age of Monsters. Gojira, or as the West named him 'Godzilla', is a natural disaster, a force of nature. Also, his DNA is practically madman candy. G-Cells, Godzilla's DNA, is a rare and dangerous commodity. The fools didn't learn a damn thing from Biolante, nor the 'Zilla' creature I helped the Americans kill in '98. I have regretfully aged to the point where I can't prevent the fools from bringing more of these damned things into the world."

I swore to never repeat Shirigami's unfortunate attempt to memorialize his daughter in the form of Biolante or the French's meddling that led to Zilla. But, as a dog for the government, which lives in fear of the King of The Monsters, even though this Godzilla (III) isn't as hostile as his late father. But, I have sworn to protect my country and serve the UNGCC under oath. We took precautions after the disaster of 2016, 'Shin' had an incredible evolutionary trait but, the creature was too docile for my superiors' liking, and the destruction left in its wake made it difficult to retrieve the frozen body. To prevent incidents such as 'Shin' but not having our subjects underperform as 'Zilla', we were precise in mixing the G-Cells in the bioengineering process, resulting in Subject # 3: Neo.
Since Godzilla is considered the most powerful animal on Earth, the 1954 monster laid waste to Tokyo, the Lagos Island saurian that terrorized Japan became potent to the point of reaching meltdown, the third and current Godzilla having decimated the 'Gigan Invasion' and the 'Titanus Gojira', the ancestor to the Godzillas, being a wildcard, it was logical to learn our mistakes from Zilla and Shin, giving the subject the best of two. Given Zilla's agility and speed, remembering Shin's durability and potent Atomic Breath, I am in awe and fear of the beast we have created. The incidents with Zilla and Shin have already placed us under G-Force's eyes, the more observant of Monarch, and Yaguchi's people still investigating the origins of 'Shin' from our Maki's notes. If we aren't put in prison, I genuinely fear our creation would most likely kill us. If Neo or any of the Gojiran were to be aware of one another, I shudder to think of the gruesome conflict.

you've been in the voca scene a really long while, so do you have any songs from when you first got into it that are still bangers despite your taste changing over time?
yeah!!! although for the most part what i listened to when i got into it were the popular songs at the time. or at least semi-well known.
kemu's pandora voxx songs are still up there on my fave songs list especially rokuchounen, reincarnation, and ikasama life game.
i also still have a special place in my heart for the shuuen no shiori project songs despite not being active in the fandom the past few years. sarumane isu tori game is literally how i came up with my url. d-ne my beloved. theres a part in the ia ver of the song towards the end that always sounded similar to when u blow into a straw i always thought that was neat. arikitari heroes is still my most listened to song in my life. song i listened to for like a month straight if not more (+ multiple weeks on & off. for months.) Back In The Day & still have trouble turning off if i put it on.
i also adore old mafumafu songs adagaeshi syndrome was my first & still goes hard & kakushigoto & yuugure semi nikki are still songs i listen to frequently. kuusou sekai to omocha no shinzou was also something i latched onto heavily. also as the resident aoki lapis fan im required to tell u mafu owns her & has used her exactly Once in an album only song toumei palette which thank u for reminding me i think i'll go listen to that now
now the one producer i miss SOOO much who also deleted most of their works is sekaikeiP or #n/a. their songs are. loud. to say the least u will want to turn ur volume down for all but one of them but i HIGHLY recommend sekaikei shoujo wa dennou sekai wo oyogu which is my second fave song of theirs so im super glad its still up. it gets stuck in my head frequently. there was no translation for this when i found it so i tried doing it myself & it went poorly so its a really cool feeling to go from completely not understanding to being able to understand most of it without double checking anything. but i digress. also highly recommend muhyoujou shoujo to yume miru kusuri. again volume warning. solid song tho & this one does have a translation if i remember right. the last one no longer has an official upload anywhere HOWEVER its my favorite of all their songs so i'm breaking my own rules & linking a reupload here. shounen A to mousou shoujo. this one has a normal volume btw its the one thats not super loud. absolutely devastated they didnt keep this up it was one of their more popular songs too. i drew fanart for it & they found it & followed me bc of it. good times. this producer's been missing since 2015 but i still think of them fondly.
debated leaving him off bc of the drama around szm but i. legitimately have no clue if new fans know szm's songs. the idol series of songs are iconic of course. undead enemy as well. personally i also really liked jinrui gofun mae kasetsu. there was a period of time i drew a lot of the girl in the video.

dumb thing that might be of your interest as the Danganronpa Funfact Person:
i was watching a dr1 playthrough and i had to delve way too far into this
in the intro, the orientation guide for hope's peak academy says it's for the year 2014, but that's only in the NISA translation. project zetsubou translation of the PSP version says 2010 (the year DR1 was released in japan)
had to look up the JP version of the game, but it's kinda fuckin hard to make out the text in the CG that shows the guide. BUT i assume it reads "heisei 22", so 2009. unless it actually reads "heisei 23" (it's so blurry and idk if a HQ version of this specific CG exists (at least for the JP version)) so then it'd be 2010.
anyhow just a dumb thing i thought you'd like to know. bless you for cataloging so many DR funfacts!
I looked into my own game to get as close as possible and it does say 平成22年, but that would actually be 2010 (I think). This is very interesting though, perhaps they just wanted to keep the year consistent with the game release? An unnecessary change but not a harmful one. Thank you for sharing!

hi jess! as someone who has never seen a godzilla film, where would you suggest i start to get into the franchise? sorry if this question has been asked a lot, if so then feel free to use this as an excuse to gush about the franchise :3
I think there are some very good places to start with Godzilla. I’m gonna give met recommended starting points here, and then I’ll elaborate under the “view more”
So, my list of Godzilla starting points in no particular order.
Godzilla (2014) - this is a reboot and it’s the beginning of the monsterverse series
Godzilla (1984) - this is a reboot and it’s the beginning of the Hesei era Godzilla series that runs until 1995
Shin Godzilla - a stand alone movie. No sequels to prequels
Godzilla (1954) - it’s the original Godzilla story and it’s good, but I also understand that older movies can be intimidating for newer viewers
Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla - Not to be confused with Godzilla vs Mecha Godzilla, this millennium era Godzilla movie is part of a self contained duology that I personally really enjoy
Now, I’ll explain why I recommend these as staring points bellow:
Godzilla 2014 and Monsterverse
Godzilla (2014) is probably my favorite place to start new fans of Godzilla, even if it’s not my favorite Godzilla movie.
G2014 is the first movie in the Monsterverse series, and there are still Monsterverse projects coming out today. Godzilla X Kong the New Empire is coming soon, and Monarch season 1 is releasing right now. It’s fun to watch something and be a part of something while it’s new and coming out.
I think you will probably enjoy all of the Monsterverse movies, but pay attention to which one you like the most, because it will act as a good indicator of which Godzilla movies to watch next because the Monsterverse movies do a really good job of capturing the tone and feel of different eras of Godzilla movies. It’s like watching through a sampler platter of the entire franchise. G2014 is a beautifully shot cinematic movie that holds its own when compared to the best Godzilla films, while Godzilla King of the Monsters is an action packed monster melee reminiscent of the Hesei era films. Godzilla vs Kong is a campy monster movie that feels like the Showa era films, and Monarch is shaping up to be an introspective look at society that feels in line with the more recent Godzilla projects (shin Godzilla, Singular point, Minus 1).
The monsterverse franchise feels like a love letter to the entire Godzilla franchise, and it makes it the perfect starting point.
Godzilla 1984, and the Heisei continuity
My favorite Godzilla movies are the ones from the Heisei era. Godzilla 1984 was made as a reboot of the franchise, and it’s the start of a solid continuity that lasts until 1995s Godzilla vs Destoroyah. These movies have incredible practical effects and have aged very very well. There are tons of cool monsters and they are just fun. To me this era of Godzilla movies will always be the best, but I also understand that it’s not for everyone.
Shin Godzilla and the Reiwa era
I like Shin Godzilla a lot. It feels like a new philosophical direction for Godzilla as a franchise, while still being respectful of the series roots, but it’s also a hard movie to talk about without spoiling the film. (Don’t worry no spoilers here). Shin Godzilla and its success opened the door for some very interesting projects (like Godzilla singular point, G vs G, Godzilla Minus One and Godzilla earth). I have mixed feelings about some of the Reiwa era Godzilla projects, but I appreciate that they are taking risks with the franchise.
Godzilla 1954 the original
Obviously the original movie was going to be on this list. I think it’s a movie that everyone should see, but I actually don’t think it needs to be the first movie you see. It’s an excellent starting point but I also understand not being in the mood to watch a 70 year old movie. That being said, when you are in the mood for an older movie, you should watch it.
Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla and the millennium era.
After the Heisei Godzilla movies ended they rebooted the franchise again, but instead of starting a new continuity they created a series of stand alone movies that were each in their own continuities. The only exception to this is the two part story of Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, and Godzilla Tokyo SOS.
You could watch any of the movies from this era without having seen any other Godzilla films, I just happen to like Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla the best. (Godzilla 2000 is a close second).
These are in my opinion the best places to start, but In actuality you can start anywhere. Even the movies with the most continuity around them are pretty stand alone and self contained, so if none of these movies appeal to you then just find one that looks fun and start there

GI-GANG RISE UP!
Okay, so Gigan came in first place, so naturally here he is. The take here mostly takes from the Final Wars design, since it's my favourite of the two canon looks for him. It's so Edgy and...Gigan-y, also I like the idea of him having different weapon options. (I also have a toy of so there was easy reference material).
Since these monster designs aren't supposed to be workable suits, they can get a bit more out there and exaggerated with the body types and limb arrangements. In this case, Gigan would be like, super tall and gangly with long arms, to the point of uncanniness if you catch him standing still (a rare occurrence). I almost imagine he fights like a figure skater with a bunch of knives strapped to them.
There's two things I'm not sure on. The first is that buzzsaw. I thought it'd be more functional as a weapon if it actually came out (on an arm in this concept art, but maybe it could be a flying drone?).
Second is his colour palette, so I made two. First is based on Showa.
Here's the second one, based on Millenium/Final Wars.
Last thing, I dunno if I'm still gonna give my Godzilla designs canon sizes, since I was originally using Heisei scaling, but thinking of switching to Monsterverse sizes.
Also don't have much in the way of lore for most characters, but that might be something I could get into if I expanded this project (which is a big maybe considering other stuff I have going on.)

MinusGoji really feels like the platonic ideal of a modern Godzilla, which makes sense considering its base design apparently comes from Godzilla: The Ride and not an auteur project like SHIN GODZILLA. I've heard that for Japanese audiences, the Heisei design from GODZILLA VS BIOLLANTE is the default look in their minds, and so it makes sense that's the primary inspiration here. But I love the integration the wilder elements of later designs into a more standard whole, with the radiation scarring of the 54 original that ShinGoji maxed out, gigantic dorsal spines that evoke Godzilla 2000 (who also feels like an influence on MinusGoji's emphasis on a big scary mouth), and the more directly scientific aquatic features brought it by Legendary's take (specifically the visible gills).
As pointed out by others, while it may be coincidence, there's even a slight resemblance in the face to Stan Winston's design from the never-realized Jan de Bont/Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio film that eventually mutated into Godzilla 98.

If you would have to do a video or picture series called "100 Years of Wafuku fashion", which covers the decades 1900s to 2000s (or maybe you can extend it to up to maybe the 2020s). Which shows not only what the clothing looked like but other parts of the ensemble as well (i.e. hairstyles,make up, and accessories). What will you show as like the representation of each decade?
Fashion and hairstyles history overview could easily fill a book. And we are not even touching the issue of handling subdivisions like social class, areas of Japan, subcultures, etc etc.
So, pinpointing fashion trends over such a loooong period of time is difficult... Maybe one day I'll have the bravery for such a project but today is not the day xD

Post WWII is messier. I have a few things filled under Showa, and virtually nothing tagged as Heisei ("vintage"* is not properly ordered enough :S). For late Heisei/Reiwa look at modern kimono tag.

I can't find all the posts I am thinking of, but subcultures I've covered in the past includes moga, bankara, gyaru, decora, kawaii / loli, bozozoku, ...
I'll also recommend this article (cw: USA internment camps), as wafuku history doesn't stop at Japan and should also includes overseas. I don't have much on then occupied territories (like Manchouria, Korea, Phillipines, Singapore etc) + the Ryuukyuu but they should also be cited here!
