#also watching it at age 19-20 as it was released and experiencing the resulting clusterfuck online fandom response was a wild trip #im finally rewatching it again at 25 and really really feel lucky to have seen it at the age i did #i have completely different perspective on it now that i have 3 young nephews and a neice where before i was in college #the music is still as incredible as it was back then #and the animation #i cant beleive people got honestly and truly upset and violently aggressive about characters being off model sometimes #early stevens voice though kills me after awhile...... the yelling .... but his characters growth and development also being reflected in #his voice changing as he grows up #they also go crazy hard on some scenes #who am i kidding the show was a masterpiece and ahead of its time

It's the juicer story to tell after all. #It is still possible that he did love her! But I think that story undercuts the relationship he also had with WCZ. #Yall ever think about how JC and WWX parallel their fathers? How Wei Changze also left the Jiang Leader's side? it's SO funny that when asked what he had to do to prepare for his role in IWTV Sam Reid says he had to learn how to play the piano, learn to speak French, Italian, and English with a French accent. every time someone is like "i'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop with orym" im like. do u not understand. he is just a little guy. he is continuing the long storied halfling tradition of being just a little guy like sam, frodo, pippin, merry, and bilbo before him. an overwrought convoluted backstory with a massive twist does not a good character make and if every member of a party did that it'd be so tired by the end. sometimes what you really need is just a little guy. to be there. to feel it all. to understand when no one else does. to carry the weight of the big big world on their small small shoulders. and orym? he is just a little guy.

His behavior was problematic but never once portrayed as romantic at the same time. Katsuki said and did awful abusive things, and he also chose to be better when he was given the chance. If you’re still hung up on chapter 1 Katsuki now then I don’t think you’ve been reading the same story I have.

I can’t speak for everyone, but I’m not shipping Izuku with an irredeemable abuser. I’m shipping him with his most important person. His narrative foil. His childhood friend who made awful mistakes and then made it right when he saw he was wrong. The person Izuku looks up to and strives to emulate, despite their past struggles.

Bakudeku is so good because of how flawed these boys are, and how hard they’ve worked to get over it, and how much they matter to each other after it all

People are saying it’s cringey that Nick kept saying “I’m bi, actually” and that proves they don’t actually understand anything. Every time he said it out loud, it was in response to someone saying he was gay. And he’s not gay, he’s bi, actually. The one time he says it preemptively (the IG caption), there’s still a ton of comments calling him gay. So yeah, he did have to say it every time because people assuming he’s gay is just as invalidating at people assuming he’s straight.
