"Thoughts Run Wild" - sequel to "Thought Provoking" - multi-chaptered (ongoing/on hold); rated T; 3,500 words - Summary: Months after Phoenix and Miles realize they star in each other's wedding fantasies, Miles wonders why things haven't progressed in their relationship. Thoughts aren't reality, no matter how much we wish that were so. How can Miles aim to fix that?

This perch was in reality a large, black, wrought iron Christmas ornament display tree, but Simon thought it was hilarious and set it up in his office immediately.

He could listen to Skye-dono and Queen Amara remind him of how much he’s changed since he moved here. But to call Khura’in his home? Simon wasn’t so sure. He had to find Nahyuta before he took that mental step.

"Second Helmet" - oneshot; rated T; 10,000 words - Summary: As 30-year-old Apollo settled back into his old life at the Agency, the defense attorney realized this relative peace hadn’t even been his old life. Peace was something new, and frankly the mundaneness was kind of exciting. He hoped, but didn’t expect, everything to fall into place accordingly.

"On My Level" - oneshot; rated M; 2,200 words - Summary: Klavier finds Apollo in a peculiar position. Apollo finds Klavier at a peculiar angle.

Hi! I've been... kinda out of the fandom for YEARS. Do you have/know of a masterpost of what went on with Alex and Lisa for... the past two years, apparently?

Want to preface this with it was less Big Obvious things and much moreso IYKYK vibes of weird shit or most importantly, the lack of certain types of posts. An semi-hinged timeline of Summer 2020-October 2022:

2020

June 

They start doing Crash Test Live and from the first episode Alex isn’t wearing his wedding ring. It gets talked about amongst fans a bit for months but with farm work it seems practical enough.

July

Lisa is posting him, seems normal!

By end of Summer/Augustish it’s becoming more noticeable Alex is consistently no longer wearing his ring on CTL or in zoom M&Gs.

October-November 

 Alex is in LA a lot.

December 

Everything seems normal despite Alex's missing ring because he's home and Lisa is posting him.

He's home with Dorl and Steve for his birthday and it’s the last time we see him at the farm till April 2022. Lisa doesn't make a grid post but she posts. His birthday post for her is a little weird. Not huge red flag weird, but was absolutely something some of us noticed as being more over the top than usual.

Alex posts his social media hiatus. Something he's never done before but hey it's pandemic so everyone needs a break.

Lisa doesn't have any major Christmas or New Year's posts which is off brand but again, it's fucking pandemic so everyone is being weird, right?

2021

January

Alex posts that he's hiking with Danny who lives in LA. I don't have the posts or exact dates, but around this time, Lisa has posted about her Dad having some health issues and eventually having a quadruple bypass. And Alex seemingly is not home. Lisa never being overt has some interesting posts.

February

 ATL plays Good Morning America and Lisa makes no acknowledgement. Valentine's Day comes and goes

February/March

Alex takes a ski/snowboard trip with Danny (we all forgot to archive stories) which is interesting because he and Lisa took trips to Park City so he’s doing things they would typically do together. Somewhere in this time Danny’s Caroline also sends her a bracelet or some sort of gift which seems interesting.

March

Alex still has not been back to the east coast, but takes another vacation with Rian, Steve, Rian's terrible new girlfriend and her Trump supporter friends at Rian's gf's family's Aspen mansion. They release Once in a Lifetime which is straight to the point! When it seems like Lisa won't post about it, she does! In the fucking weirdest of ways.

The next night, Alex posts and deletes a poem to and video with his horse. It’s confusing and we briefly think he’s back at the farm.

April

It’s their 5 year wedding anniversary but Lisa takes a conveniently timed social media hiatus and Alex doesn't post but he’s definitely back in LA and acting weird about his personal life in interviews.

June

Alex finally goes to the east coast and seems to be packing and/or rummaging at his parents, finding nostalgic shit.

July

Alex is confirmed at his parents.

Lisa hangs out with their mutual friends for 4th of July, clearly not wearing her ring and Alex gets weird. Later in the month, more questionable related shit.

The night of the first show ATL plays, Lisa posts about her bed.

August

Sad Summer starts and Alex is just happy to be on tour or?

 ATL has a day off in NYC and Lisa goes to NYC. We still don’t know why?!?

Lisa is featured in a Baltimore Homes spread. There is no mention of a s/o in anyway but there is a picture of a shelf featuring a wedding photo, and ATL/Simple Creatures things.

September

About a week later, Lisa posts a video dancing in front of the shelf and it’s different. Later she posts directly about redecorating the shelf, void of all Alex relics.

Alex does an interview saying he lives in LA and when asked where he stays when he goes back to MD he starts with “Good question!” and lands on staying with his parents.

October

 the allegations happen so Alex is even less present online than before, which is already limited. We’re still struggling.

November

It’s noticed Lisa has removed Alex posts from her “Fam” highlights on Instagram

December

Lisa posts “Good Riddance to 2021″ and notably ATL decor is missing.

2022

February

Lisa takes a trip to Mexico City and never mentions who she's with. One of their friends posts a comment about "him" that gets deleted. We assume she was seeing someone serious enough take a vacation with and that's all we ever gather about that. Ever.

March

 Janelle makes the "boyfriend soft launch" post which features a picture of 2 glasses of wine she had previously posted in a story  only showing 1 glass, and a pic of her IN HIS T-SHIRT. There was never anything overt to prove they were together but there were LOTS of vibes and timings that never necessarily made sense to compile. I made this timeline on what I think is their precursor to the Lisex split but it’s all speculation.

April - Another wedding anniversary goes by wayside however!

THE WALL - Alex posts a some promo videos and for days it’s debated if they are recorded at the farmhouse. Reader, they are!

Lisa posts watching Batman which just feels telling.

May

Jack and Alex write “Sleepwalking” which seems to have big Missing Her vibes.

The Steven Universe Movie 3rd Anniversary Contest!

Happy Anniversary to a very exciting and momentous time for the SU fandom and crewniverse: the first SU movie! To celebrate the third year since it’s release since September 2nd, 2019, I am happy to host an anniversary contest to further support our love for this show and all it has done to touch so many people!

The contest will be open all of September and will conclude the night of September 30th. The contest is open to all ages, skill level, and geographic regions, regardless of previous activity in the SU fandom or how long you have been a fan of the show.

1. ALL forms of media are allowed for submission. This includes but is not limited to: digital or traditional fanart, fanfiction, AMV’s, video editing, voice acting, role play, comics, storyboards, animation, animatics, etc.

2. All content submitted must be original work. Absolutely no copying/stealing another artist’s work, or you will be immediately disqualified. Using clips directly from the show for the purpose of video editing is okay

3. Entries that were already posted on your account more than 1 month ago will not be accepted. In other words, anything made and posted after August 1st is okay to submit.

4. Entries will be judged on originality, impact, and creativity, with a few bonus points given for technicality and relevance to the movie. This means if you have a creative idea for a character who wasn’t a major focus of the movie, but is in the main show, you are welcome to do it- you will only miss out on a few bonus points.

5. There are no other rules. Canon, non-canon, AU’s, shipping, sfw, nsfw - anything is on the table. If you want to know if something is okay to do, the answer is probably yes, but you’re welcome to ask me directly.

Prizes for winners will be awarded as follows:

Your question is a very good one. After so many years of being in the fandom, it never really occurred to me to create a master list of their joint interviews. And for that, I appreciate your question because it has given me the opportunity to put one together 👏👏👏

Here’s what I can share with you in response to your question - master list of GGDD joint interviews. I assume you meant interviews where they’re together. If it’s solo for each, that list will be miles long 😀

I tried to organize based on the timeline, picked the ones with English subs and full length versions instead of short clips and I tried to use mostly YouTube videos too. Hopefully, it won’t be restricted in your region and you can watch these clips

A 2nd Majsasaurus Year!

Today, 22nd of September 2021, it’s been two years since I officially joined the magical world of fandom. 22.9.2019 I uploaded the first chapter to my fic Shadows and Sand, and the rest is history.

I did a deep dive into my first year as a fic writer and active member of fandom last year, when it was my first anniversary. You can read it here!

In that meta discussion about my membership of fandom, I presented it as if walking on clouds. I was so, so happy and talked during all the discussion about my happiness in fandom.

Since that post was written, my life and also my perception of the fandom I am part of has changed. Change isn’t always bad, as I really had a honeymoon phase with fandom over a year ago, and the low after hit hard.

But let’s see what I’ve been up to and what I’ve been writing! The following year provided much change and fun things! Please keep reading 💜⬇

The first fic I wrote since 22.9.2020 was a Sakura x Ino fic. I had for a longer while been interested in writing a woman-loves-woman ship, which I had never done before, and as a wlw-person myself the urge to explore that part led to Promise me this is just a kiss. The pairing itself was chosen on rather random, it had to be two women and I like Ino, so I chose the most popular Ino-wlw ship for this for convenience.

I really liked writing the fic and it was well-received! It was the first time I had written a fic that was entirely centred around exploring feelings and having sex.

After this I jumped directly onto the next idea that had been boiling inside me for a longer while. Up to this point, all I had written, except the wlw-fic, had been set in the Naruto canonverse and I was itching to try to work with a multi-chaptered modern au! The pairing was of course my beloved Shikadai x Inojin.

It was during the creation of this fic I began to struggle. This was a new genre, as this was romance only and all my other works had been action and fantasy based, except the sex fic of course. I was maybe over critical and stressed, which resulted in me having a hard time writing it. But I made it. Was the sky always this beautiful? ended up being 35k long, and in hindsight, I freaking love, love, love how it turned out in the end and what it represented. I am very proud of this fic.

I “upgraded” as a fan by the end of October when I bought myself a digital drawing tablet. I began drawing fanart of Shikadai and Inojin and preferably them two together, haha! I still draw a few days a month and find it extremely fun as a side hobby beside the writing.

We are now in November 2020. By this time, I had completely finished my zine fic, Under the Scorching Sun, which I had written during September and October, for the Shikatema zine I was kindly accepted to. I was proud of what I had created and was eager for the rest of the contributors to wrap up theirs, so we’d have a wonderful zine for sale in 2021. It was lovely to write ShikaTema again. As the zine fic was about to be released in months from when I had at first finished it, I wanted of course to write something fans and friends could immediately take part of on the internet. I had hyped myself up to a state where I wanted to write a third and final story in my series To love and never let go, my epic series about Shikadai and Inojin.

Now, I should maybe have waited another month, but I was worried the readers would give up on me if I didn’t write it right away. In December, I began writing To find hope in the Universe, with my usual speed and love for the art.

What I by then didn’t realise or even recognise was that I was very slowly turning burned out. I ignored all the signs.

In December I wrote simultaneously as Hope in the Universe a fic that was part of the Shikatema server’s Secret Santa event. The fic’s name was The Ghost Stories of our Hearts, and it was ShikaTema, as the event’s name suggests. It was fun to write and despite the final big fic, Hope in the Universe, pressing down on me, I finished The Ghost Stories of our Hearts and was very happy with the result. Sadly, at this point the burnout began taking control over me, and I never managed to reply to the comments.

The 15th of January, I began uploading To find hope in the Universe. It was a lovely experience, even if it was tainted by negative feelings coming from my decreasing happiness and the fact that it didn’t do as well as To dance above the Stars, the second fic in the series. To deal with two very contradiction emotions, loving my work, the characters, how I have painted an entire world around the characters and how I knew some people honestly loved my hard work, and then the negative feelings coming from not feeling good enough and depressed, was a difficult thing to navigate and still is when I think back to that time. It didn’t help that during the process of uploading the fic I went through grief, and I chose distraction as my coping method. I kept writing and working, the only thing I ever knew.

Our pre-order of the Shikatema zine was in full motion by this time and it was a nerve-wracking time! Mostly because of excitement but also worry. I’m super happy for my friends who were part of the zine, with whom I could share all the excitement and nervousness with. The zine ended up making good sales, which made me happy among the uploading of the long fic.

To find hope in the Universe was completed 31st of March 2021. When I uploaded the final chapter, I felt nothing. It was so weird, so spooky, to have finished a long fic and a series on top of that and not feel anything. But deep down, beneath the layer of depression, I felt great pride.

That was the emotion that broke free once the burnout left me. Pride.

I had created this empire of Shikajin, a whole alternative timeline, an alternative canon from my own head and to this day, that is my internet legacy. I love Trial of the Heart, which I wrote in 2020, but if I have to choose between ToH and this series, I will choose To love and never let go in a heartbeat.

So, even if it felt depressing and hopeless in the moment, I look now back with pride and happiness. Never forget that. Never forget that I made that.

April was a curious time. I swore to not write anything, because I had by now recognised that I was burned out and needed to rest, yet managed to scrape together three smaller fics.

The first one was another wlw-smut fic, TemaSaku this time called Another Light. I wanted to explore that part once again. I wrote it in canonverse and honestly think the fic ended up extremely nice. Perfect amount of feels and sex. It didn’t feel hard to write at all, because the setting, characters and emotions were so different from the fics I had written the last five months.

Now more interesting things lay on the horizon! A new zine, the Ino-Shika-Cho zine called Beyond a Bond had an interest check during the spring, and later the contributor application. I urged in the interest check to please give us the next gen kids, Shikadai, Inojin and Chocho – my kids and babies, and when it turned out they were going to feature, I had to apply as a writer. For this application I wrote a one shot, called It’s just hair, and I loved this spunky little story featuring the best babies that I created.

I also edited one of my tumblr fics, And then I kissed him, into a longer, better version that I later in May uploaded onto AO3. It was once again a Shikajin, a sequel of Trial of the Heart, and it was a fun little project.

Now May came and I sent in the application for the zine early, which I now am relieved I did. I am happy that I did the work for the application in April instead of May, because in May I had a few breakdowns and another grieving period, which lead to complete creative paralysis. I didn’t write a single word during May, only uploaded the two one shots I had prepared in April.

What I did do in May was to read through the Shikatema zine I had contributed to! It arrived in the mail! I was so nervous; my whole body was shaking when I opened the package right outside the post office. The zine now resides on the parade place in my little zine shrine in the bookshelf. Thank you to the mods who made this a reality!

To my great happiness my zine adventures continued as I was accepted to the Ino-Shika-Cho zine as a writer and was assigned to write my favourite characters. I felt so relieved and overjoyed, mind blown by the sheer talent among the contributors.

On the other fandom front, June didn’t continue any brighter, with stress and mental pain still having a strong grip around me, despite the very happy news that I am still so grateful for. I wrote a Yamanaka family fic which to this day hasn’t seen the light of AO3, because of negative emotions surrounding it. I turned into a complete wreck compared to me in June 2020. In June 2020 I was flourishing, I loved what I did, I loved fandom and I loved the friends I had made through Discord servers. Now I could find myself crying my eyes out over a wip not going the way I wished it would. What had happened to Bex 2021?

I was so incredibly frustrated with myself, groaning in defeat when my hands just couldn’t write. I managed to push through 6k of what I called my “emo au” – more of that later – and finish the Yamanaka fic which is still buried, and on top of that I had the zine and another fandom event, The Naruto Photo Album, to create content for. Why couldn’t I do it? Why couldn’t I find happiness in something that once was my reason for happiness?

In the end, I managed to write 15k in June. My former monthly word count used to be 30k. One could think this would turn into the end of my fic writing career, or the beginning of a longer hiatus, but I am stubborn and want to meet the expectations of the people who love my content, so I didn’t want to give up. I wanted to try. I wanted to be whoever I was before.

Funnily enough, the healing came in the shape of the most self-indulgent fic I have ever, ever written, a fic I like possessed began writing July the 1st 2021. It was nothing less than a freaking fairy tale AU, namely a Shikadai x Inojin Peter Pan AU. I can hear you laugh at the silliness of it, but this whimsical AU gave me back my love for writing. I hyper-fixated on this story quite a bit and stopped writing on everything else, something I almost never do.

Only happy boys fly ended up being 21 000 words long! I knew it was a niched story, and true to my guesses, the story has to this day very low stats. Today, two months after it was published, it has just above 100 hits and 10 kudos, so for all I know, only ten people read and liked it. I try to not care too much, since I love the story and in some way, that story saved me from going batshit insane over my emotions about writing.

At this point I had begun writing my fic from the Ino-Shika-Cho zine, finding joy in silly scenes with my favourite characters and trying to heal. The writing process was frustratingly slow, but one word at a time I got forward and as of today, the draft is done. The pre-orders are in December. At the side of the zine fic I wrote a short fluffy Shikajin story, CLEAR, a story with almost no plot, because I knew how much self-indulgence could help me.

And then, I finally began writing for real on my emo au, A gang of fallen stars, which has the first few chapters up right now! I have for the first time in six months a longer fic (if we don’t count the Peter Pan story) and it feels… good. This fic is once again a modern au, but in darker tones than my other modern au from November 2020. I honestly like what I have so far, even if I during June and July almost planned to never finish it. I am so relieved I managed to begin the upload. In September the Photo Album was released and I could show my two fics I wrote for it.

It sounds like this year has been nothing but misery, and at times it felt like it. However, there are a few fandom friends who brought light to my life when I couldn’t see it. The first ones to mention are of course my partners in crime, @notquitejiraiya and @thespookymoth. Together we created a server dedicated to Ino-Shika-Cho during the spring and it has been tons of fun with the members there! Thank you two for listening to me and for being my friends during 2021.

I also have to mention Soverel, who carefully begun taking contact through comments and likes on my twitter, and later through direct messages, and it has been a fun ride ever since. We’ve had lovely discussions which are very dear to me and your support means a lot to me. Thank you for being you and for drawing so many wonderful artworks you’ve shared with me. Haha, and for making me play Genshin Impact, even though I do it like twice a month!

Another person who has made my days so much brighter is @sugarriene. Thank you for sending me that one dm that made us chat regularly, thank you for popping up and sharing panels and your wonderful drawings with me, and for vibing head canons with me. You are a lovely person, and you make me happy.

Finally, I want to give a shout out to @yoboseyokyu for listening to me when I had to yell into the void and for making me happy with your cute posts on both twitter and tumblr.

Since September 2020, I’ve written around 195 000 words and drawn close to 35 illustrations, most of them of Shikadai and Inojin. Almost 200 000 words of Majsasaurus. I’ve created a Discord server and I’ve been part of two zines as a writer, plus a free PDF-project.

It has been a wild year. A year filled with passion for my favourite characters and ship, with the excitement that came with being part of projects and hyping them. It was a year where I learned to draw digitally, and heck what fun it was.

This also a year where I learned people can be mean to me because of what I ship and that fandom friends won’t necessarily always stay to be your friend anymore and how much it can hurt. I also learned what my limits are, and what punishment I get if I don’t listen to my own mind and rest when I have to.

It was a year, guys.

Now, onto the third Majsasaurus Year. Cheers!

Well....that was one way to start a new decade, i guess. >  >’

Ok, from the death and destruction to the quarantine caused by viral disease to large parts of the world literally going up in flames, this year was like an ominous beginning that revealed the true ugly colors of everyone around us.

But there’s something telling me that that was just the universe releasing all of it’s built up rage from the last decade, so to think on the bright side, the only way to go is up now, right?

Regardless, pushing all the crap that happened this year aside, this feels like one of my best years yet in terms of art. i don’t think there’s any wedge of this clock that i wasn’t completely satisfied with and i had a TON of tough decisions on what to put in said wedges cuz i just luved almost everything i’ve created this year.

If you’re up to it, i’ll have my usual month to month reflection under the cutoff, but if you’re not, i hope to keep giving y’all even better art next year! ^  ^

So without further ado, let’s review!

January: ~ Days ~

Runner up: Team Solar Rises Again! (drawing in celebration of PMD finally returning with a remake of the first game)

Kicking off right where 2019 left off, i was hot on the heels of my Beastars phase, still cranking out countless drawings and doodles, mostly featuring Legoshi, and even hanging around the Beastars Amino and making some new friends there. this piece in particular i think encapsulates what i was mostly doing at the time, making up stories and stuff within canon to give myself more wolf boi content. which is something that i rarely do normally since i’ve mostly just done OC related writing before this.

February: - Sk8ter Wolf -

Runner up: Re:Hukaro (That thing i drew for Moon)

Ahh yes, the day i peaked with punk rock energy and created something in a highschool notebook sketch style. ngl, with the release of Beastars’ english dub on the way and the fandom quickly growing, i felt like i was on fire with the amount of stuff i was drawing. i felt so inspired and things can’t possibly go bad.

March: We Can Be Heroes

Runner up: One More Day, Emo Bird Boi Sketchies

Ahh yes, the month the worldwide quarantine started because they discovered the virus around this time. from this point onward, time pretty much meant absolutely nothing since i was stuck indoors for a majority of the year, only going out if i had to. on top of that, i tried a little attempt at a fandub and got picked on immediately by yahoos on Youtube. it...wasn’t fun.

I tried doing a little challenge i made up called Animarch where i drew a drawing representing anime i liked every day, but i only got about 5 days in i think? ehh, whatever. i did try, so that means something. lol

April: - ANOTHER SIDE -

Runner up: BEAST CROSSING ~Legoshi & Raymond

This was pretty much the final month i drew anything Beastars related as i slowly started shifting back to Pokemon due to the wait for season 2. but not before getting the new Animal Crossing and drawing a thing with Raymond and Legoshi that would blow up with hundreds of notes and interactions across every platform i posted it on. lmao

Regardless, i feel like Another Side was a perfect way to end that phase of my art journey. it’s like a nice finale to a long string of ideas that i will totally return to once season 2 drops next year.

May: - KOUJI -

Runner up: Fashion (that sketch of Alex and Jet in casual clothing)

What happened this month again? oh right, i went back to Digimon for a hot minute cuz i continued playing the copy of Cyber Sleuth Complete that i won from a giveaway on Twitter and created Alex and Jet, my latest Tamer and her Hawkmon partner. i should really do some more stuff with them.

ANYWAY,

June: - DOUBLE TROUBLE -

Runner up: “No Time to Waste! HENSHIN!” (AF attack against IonicIsaac on Twitter), Cafe Mix ~Ace, Yagami, Lance and Seliph

Art Fight. third year. and this time i kicked things up a notch and beat my old record from last year!...after uhh....cramming in 8 attacks at the very last night and totally going insane from the amount of sleep i lost. ^  ^’

But trust me when i say i will NOT do that again next year, i swear.

July: Squad Up

Runner up: Comin’ Out to Stun (Jet the Hawk sketches)

So after playing and beating PMDX, i started fleshing out Lance and Selpih’s characters and made more art and stories surrounding them and the rest of the team. one of those being a drawing for Mystery Dungeon Day, which happens the day after Odaiba Day. which is in August. why did i put this down for July then? some questions just don’t need to be answered.

August: - TOGETHER -

Runner up: In the Storm

You can tell by now just how uneventful life was this year cuz i have literally nothing else to talk about other than the art parts. no life issues, no big adventures like moving or something. just....indoor stuff.

It’s...kinda sad, now that i think about it. but hey, at least i was making the most of my time, trying new things and getting around a bit more.

September: Small World

Runner up: Rescue Together, PMD Forever!, Midnight Adventuring, Down Time

So this year, i turned 21, which a lotta people say is important. not really, if you can’t do much i guess. though, i did crank out a ton of art i’m super satisfied with as you can see by how hard it was to frickin’ pick one to use for this month’s wedge on the clock.

October: Feathers of the Shadows

Runner up: PAPERMOON - Final Mix - (not picked because it’s a touch up of an older drawing)

Hoo boi, this month was crazy. cuz i drew a whole lotta e d g e .....and a whole lotta Murkrow. lol

It was fun letting my inner edgelord out this month. even if nothing really significant happened in reality.

November: ~ One More Game ~

Runner up: UPokerap Project: Frogadier, - LEAF STORM -

This month....was actually kinda rough. it was basically me falling into a depressive episode after a scare at the dentist made me worry about my self image and insecurities again. but this time it really hit me just how much permanent damage i’ve done to myself in that aspect of my appearance. i know i shouldn’t worry so much, but it’s not great when people tell you to smile when the most i can do is grin since i’m just so....unhappy with my teeth.

But then around the end of the month, i stumbled upon a Pokemon themed Discord server with people that made me feel....not as alone as i suddenly felt i was. which i’m glad i could meet them even after only knowing them for a month now. if they’re reading this, i hope you know i’m thankful for raising my spirits when there’s still things i just can’t do due to financial issues.

December: Colors of the Heart  + Happy Holidays! ~Grovyle ver.

Runner up: ~ After the Battle ~ (the two part KHII anniversary drawing), - XIII -, Sketchmon: Buizel

And now this month. on top of my insecurities, i’ve now been struggling with my frustration with not being noticed as much as i should, watching as some people quickly climb up in following when i’m going much slower. honestly, i feel like the months when everything started lightening up for the world....was when things started falling apart for me. yeah, i know. pretty depressing way to end, huh? i hit 300 before the year ended thanks to the support from my new friends though, so i’m actually pretty happy.

But that doesn’t mean i’m not still scared of the future. i mean i have my teeth to worry about and also my wisdom teeth are coming in. so next few months...might be kinda rough.

Though, that’s not to say i didn’t soldier through it. this month i pushed myself, plowed through as many commissions as i could get to raise money for my new computer and made some of the best drawings that to me, feel like a great accomplishment. even if a couple of them weren’t as grandiose as some of my previous work. it was a big step forward for me as an artist. at least in my eyes.

And i have a feeling....that it can only get better from here.

Kaiju Media Forecast 2020

The kaiju fandom has certainly seen a gigantic upswing in content since the last time I did one of these “year going forward” reviews. Let’s take a look at some of the major movies, events, merchandise and more that kaiju fans have to look forward to in the coming year!

Movies

Every year since at least 2013, the kaiju fandom has had one “tentpole” film event of the year, usually the most highly anticipated feature coming out that year that most media and merchandise hype will surround. This year’s choice is the latest (and possibly last?) of the Legendary MonsterVerse which just last year introduced us to the first American incarnations of Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah. Later this year, the King of the Monsters will once again take on the King of Skull Island in a rematch nearly 60 years in the making with Godzilla vs. Kong. The only snippet of footage we’ve seen is featured in the screenshot above and recently leaked toy fair displays have quite a lot in store for the big crossover event of the MonsterVerse. Godzilla vs. Kong drops November 20th.

According to your definition, the first kaiju film of 2020 launched two weeks ago with Underwater. The Kristen Stewart-helmed deep-sea monster movie isn’t really making the splash it was looking for box office-wise and most people who have seen it say that it’s okay at worst. Regardless, if you like big monsters and quasi-Cloverfield type films, you can give it a shot in theaters now or in a few months when it hits home media.

Godzilla’s sole big screen appearance won’t just be limited to the big crossover with Kong as a snow-covered cameo role will land him a spot in the new Shinkalion movie. From a clip posted on Yahoo Japan (refresh the page if it doesn’t work) Godzilla briefly faces Hatsune Miku piloting a giant train-based mecha (I tried pinching myself, believe me) at the very end. This role is likely going to be very short but nonetheless, it’s always satisfying to see Godzilla pop up in the most unexpected places.

Again, stretching the definition of “kaiju” here, but also apparently the Monster Hunter movie still exists and is coming out later this year in September? I don’t know much about the franchise, but I do know it’s probably going to be butchered with a Paul W.S. Anderson directed schlock fest. Who knows, maybe the monster scenes will make up for it?

As is tradition, the Ultraman franchise hits us once again with an annual theatrical movie based off the previous year’s show. Ultraman Taiga The Movie: New Generation Climax will be out in March and judging by the title, will feature a climactic event featuring the New Generation assortment of Ultraman heroes. I still have yet to see Taiga but hopefully this provides a fun conclusion to the show.

Famed director Hideaki Anno returns to the world of his most famous creation with Evangelion 3.0+1.0, the highly anticipated final installment in the Rebuild series to be released this June. I have not seen any of the Rebuild movies myself but this is sure to be a wild and crazy ride for Evangelion fans.

Finally, the oddball of the bunch. Kadokawa rises from it’s dusty grave with a brand new monster film focused on the unproduced predecessor to Gamera: Nezura 1964. Featuring giant rat monsters and a cast comprised of many Daiei/Kadokawa favorites, it’ll be interesting to see if this film can capitalize on the recent kaiju craze and be successful enough to possibly give our old turtle friend the revival he truly deserves. Nezura 1964 is due out in December in Japan.

Television

Not much on the television docket this year. It’s far too early to speculate about Tsuburaya’s next Ultra series, leaving us with little to discuss. Studio Trigger is supposedly making some kind of new series related to it’s Gridman show from last year (another item I have yet to see). Titled SSSS.DYNAZENON, nobody knows when it’s due out so for all I know this could be a rather outdated entry.

What we do know for sure is coming is something not particularly kaiju but still related via the tokusatsu connection is the continuation of Kamen Rider Zero-One, the first Rider series in Japan’s newly named Reiwa period. This isn’t really related to the year 2020 but honestly I’d rather have something in this TV section to talk about than just the Gridman sequel.

Merchandise

Last year was one of the greatest years in the history of the American Ultraman fandom with the officially sanctioned releases of Ultra Q, Ultraman, Ultraseven, Ultraman Orb and Ultraman Geed to Blu-Ray in the West for the very first time. In this new year, Mill Creek will continue to satiate the needs of Western Ultra fans with releases of previously unseen-on-western-disc series Return of Ultraman, Ultraman Ace, Ultraman X, and the Ultraman Orb Origin Saga. A schedule flyer released online also teases many other entries in the franchise making the continuous release of these beloved shows a treat to look forward to. You can pre-order the four releases discussed above on Amazon.

American toy company Playmates acquired the license for the Godzilla vs. Kong toyline last year and in early January, a few figures from their non-film focused toylines showed up at Walmarts across the country. They’re uh...well, let’s be honest: they’re not great. Leaked images of the Godzilla vs. Kong toyline were also shared around social media but I’ll avoid talking about them here for spoiler purposes. Let’s just say the line is looking mighty juicy for kaiju fans and it will be interesting to see if they’re promoted come New York Toy Fair.

Bandai’s Movie Monsters Series line will likely continue to issue newly reissued/remolded monsters in the Godzilla line (as well as produce new figures for Godzilla vs. Kong) but coming out in March is a sight for sore eyes: a brand new sculpt of the 1995 Gamera design for the 25th anniversary of Gamera: Guardian of the Universe. Hopefully a Super Gyaos is not far behind!

The S.H. MonsterArts line had a fairly predictable and underwhelming list of releases last year. Great figures for the most part, but obvious choices without much surprise. This being a movie year, I don’t expect much to change and we’ll likely see Godzilla vs. Kong figures soon enough. What is confirmed and releasing in May is their take on the Burning Godzilla design featured in Godzilla: King of the Monsters last year. Originally a Tamashii WebShop exclusive, it’s being released in America by Bluefin around June.

Media company SRS Cinema continues to throw unexpected independent kaiju films our way with releases of Deep Sea Monster Reigo and Deep Sea Monster Raiga last year on limited Blu-Ray and wide-release DVD. They’ll continue the assortment this year with Attack of the Giant Teacher and Raiga vs. Ohga. The films likely won’t be much to look at, but more independent kaiju films seeing a western release is never a bad thing. Here’s hoping Daikaiju Eiga G or Gehara see a release soon.

In an almost perfect repeat of Daiei and Toho’s box office bout sixty years ago, boutique label Arrow Video has reportedly secured the rights to the Gamera franchise and are planning a box set that could rival Criterion’s late 2019 release of the entire Showa Godzilla series. Arrow Video puts out sublime products and kaiju fans will likely want to keep their eyes peeled for this set, even if they’ve already secured Mill Creek’s rather dull bargain sets from years past.

While not on the docket for tie-ins to Godzilla vs. Kong (yet), NECA will likely be continuing to pump out new figures in their Classic Godzilla line. No brand new sculpts are known at the moment, but fans can look forward to a blue, poster-styled repaint of their KOTM Mothra figure and some reissues of their older molds in new box-styled, poster-featuring packaging. Some, like the 1985 Godzilla, might even feature newly molded details.

In rather shocking news, Media Blasters has seemingly propped one of its kaiju films up from the depths of licensing hell with an announcement of a Blu-Ray release of Gappa the Triphibian Monsters scheduled for a February release. The out-of-nowhere circumstances surrounding this release as well as a proclaimed inclusion of an “uncut” Japanese release (despite the International version containing more footage than the Japanese version) and Media Blasters rather spotty history regarding kaiju Blu-Rays should have folks taking this with a grain of salt until the actual discs are in collectors’ hands.

Events

As per usual, the kaiju fan’s Woodstock G-FEST will be continuing it’s annual celebration of all things giant monster from July 10-12 at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare in Rosemont, IL. No guest announcements at this time, but fans looking to go should register and book a hotel immediately as attendance will continue to spike and rooms in the convention’s hotel are already sold out.

As is tradition, the San Diego Comic Con will take place this summer a week after G-FEST is over and will likely bring with it new information on Godzilla vs. Kong and many other kaiju-related media. NECA will possibly show off new figures and we may even see some post-2020 information on the MonsterVerse.

Not necessarily guaranteed, but kaiju fans may also want to look out for this year’s New York ToyFair taking place in February. ToyFair has pretty much become the SDCC for toy collectors with many companies showing off their new products for the new year. Kaiju collectors will possibly get a glimpse at the Playmates Godzilla vs. Kong assortment as well as a few other possible surprise reveals from other companies like NECA or Diamond Select.

The size of the fandom

On AO3 there are 2,567 entries of which 2507 are fics, 25 fanvids, 13 podfics, 7 icons, 7 fanarts, 5 meta and 3 fanmixes. 125 fics are crossovers. 2,350 of the fics are marked as completed.

On fanfic.net there are 587 fics (remember that to see M rated fics you must change the filter). 9 fics are crossovers. 433 of the fics are marked as completed.

There are also many fics that appear on both FFN and AO3.

The Library only has easy access to these two main platforms but if we are made aware of other repositories we are happy to include those in our posts – just let us know where to find them : )

Season 1 of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries aired February – May 2012. Season 2 aired September – December 2013. Season 3 aired May to June 2015.

In September 2017 the Kickstarter campaign for Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears was announced (IndieGoGo December 2017), with filming commencing  October 2018 and an expected Australian release date of February 2020.

In February 2019 Ms Fisher’s Modern Mysteries, focused on Phryne’s niece Peregrine, was aired in Australia.

3th person POV

Immediately as William entered the shared house of him and his fiancé, he could tell something was off.

Where was she?

Usually she would be there, already at the door because she just came home from work or because she was waiting for him.

But she wasn't here now.

"Laura?" He called.

No response.

Well, after a few seconds there was.

"Yeess?" She called back.

Ah. The kitchen? That's why it smelled nice. She was cooking.

He walked into the kitchen and walked up behind her grabbing her in a tight embrace from behind.

"What are you making?"

"That's a surprise." She said, kissing him on the cheek.

"Hm? What for?"

"Huh? You don't remember? It's our 4 year anniversary!" Laura stated with a small pout that was quickly replaced by a laugh as she saw Liam's reaction of shock.

"Oh yes! I knew that! You concentrate on cooking, wait just a second love. By the way, is it supposed to do that?"

"Oh damn! It's not! Anyways, dinner is going to be ready at 7"

7... Okay, right now it 6. He had an hour to plan this properly.

'Thank God I already bought that thing a while back' William thought.

A month or so back he saw something that Laura would absolutely love, and since it was the last one, he bought it.

He finished up his plan and went back to the kitchen.

"Almost ready, could you possibly set the table?"

He did as asked, and also helped her with putting everything on the table.

"Oh, this is wonderful. Thank you, Love" Laura gushed as she looked at the table in their livingroom.

They sat down to eat and made small talk, how their day went and other stuff. When it was quiet and they were enjoying their lovely food Laura prepared, she suddenly questioned herself something.

"Hey Liam? You know how you are a dog mystic?"

"Yeah, of course I know that"

"Well, I wondered... Do you like being scratched behind your ears too?"

All movements stopped on his part, whilst Laura continued eating her food calmly as if nothing was wrong.

"I- uhh... I never... Thought about it?" William said carefully. She saw this as an invite and reached her hand behind her fiancé's ear and scratched.

He leaned into her touch and released a sigh out of contentness. When he realised what happened a massive blush coated his face, which looked adorable. Laura giggled at his actions and continued scratching.

After 10 minutes they finished eating and tidied everything up, putting the dishes in the dishwasher.

"Hey, Laura? I have something for you..." William scratched his neck, giving her the present.

She unwrapped it and saw a beautiful bronze necklace inside.

"It really reminded me of your eyes," He explained "Beautiful..."

"Oh wow... This is... Wow" She couldn't produce any words. It was so beautiful.

William took it from her hands and pulled her hair away to put it on. When it was on she moved her hand to her chest to touch the emblem.

'11 September 2015'

The date they got together.

"Oh Liam... It's beautiful" Laura beamed.

William looked at her with a sheepish grin, which looked adorable on him. He was her sunshine. She was his little vixen. A really sweet one for that matter.

"Come on, I have something else to show you" He then said, grasping her hand.

She followed him into the car, wandering where he would bring her.

After about 15 minutes driving they arrived at a place that gave Laura a feeling of nostalgia that she couldn't entirely place.

They walked up the hill in silence, taking in the beautiful scenery around them.

"Oh! Now I remember!" Laura exclaimed.

"Yeah?" William grinned, looking down at her.

"We met here... Oh Liam!" She looked back up at him with a massive smile on her face.

Her smile was infectious,

Her eyes were shining,

But her personality, was the most beautiful.

He loved all of her. He wouldn't know what would happen to him if she ever leaved his side.

They reached the top of the hill.

They shouldn't have.

They should not have come here in the first place.

Everything happened so fast. Too fast.

Her voice was cracking and more tears came, but that didn't stop her.

She continued singing, until her voice was still barely audible as he took his last breaths. Cherishing her voice.

This anniversary, I wanted to pay tribute to the show by redrawing my favorite SDCC poster. With a few changes. It’s been 3 years since this poster came out on the internet, but it’s the poster for the first SDCC I experienced in this fandom. Below the cut is me being sentimental because I really love this show and its impact on my life is greater than one would think.

March 26th, 2015. I decide to watch Steven Universe after seeing gifsets of the first Stevenbomb on my dash from lingering members of the people who worked on my previous hyperfixation Attack on Space (A spinoff AU from the parent series Attack on Titan, which my interest in was fading quickly). I opt to watch the episodes that are on demand because they’re easier to access. I watch Alone Together first, Full Disclosure second (actual quote from me, who hadn’t known about SU’s musical nature: “Since when is SU a musical?!”). I then spend the next week or two watching the episodes on demand, then going onto KissCartoon to watch the series in order, in its entirety. (Quote when watching S1E05 Frybo: “I’m glad I’m watching these now before this inevitably becomes my new hyperfixation.” I have second hand embarrassment moments from this episode to this day). My brother decides to watch with me occasionally.

Fast forward to the end of March. I’m caught up with the series (back then only up to Joy Ride, which aired the day I began this journey). My friend Zac and I are now both into the show, and the following week Attack the Light comes out the same day that Say Uncle airs. Say Uncle is the first episode I watch live. I download ATL and finish it within a week. The rest of the weekly episodes (you heard me: weekly) were to follow and I was excited to officially be involved in the fandom. The beginning of April, I found the comics and I got to issue #5, the one where Pearl sucks in a gem-embedded book into her own gem and becomes ill from it. that was the day that I realized Pearl was my favorite character. Hurt/comfort is my way to tell.

I carry on watching the episodes throughout the month, and then after Reformed airs, we are faced with a hiatus. back then, a month and a half was a long time. Then, I got into the Pearl theories. I was all over the so called “nacre theory” right up until the theory had been confirmed in Back to the Barn (I still am, though the term “nacre theory” takes on a whole new meaning that I’m not sure will see the light of day now that we know more about Homeworld). You should have seen me go ham reblogging things about Pearl being lower-class, a lowly technician (ha), a maintenance drone. And all Pearls looked exactly the same back then in the fanart.

May 26th they announced the second Stevenbomb, half the fandom combusted. So did I. Sworn to the Sword happened and I had more fuel for the NT. I woke up that Thursday morning to a gifset of Pearl and Rose’s fusion dance because We Need to Talk leaked and spontaneously combusted right there. Then they announced Week of Sardonyx and our naive selves said “another one?” I went camping that weekend, which was also the weekend of SDCC. I nearly had a heart attack from my over-excitement when I got home that Sunday.

Week of Sardonyx came and went, with even more fuel to the fire for the NT. Cartoon Network does their greatest fuckup of the year by accidentally putting all of the Summer of Steven episode titles a whole year before they air. They changed the release date for the weekly episodes from August 6th to September 10th, and then we were graced by small Peridot on September 24th.

Back to the Barn airs. I die.

Then we go into a very long hiatus until Stevenbomb 4, airing in January 2016. This marks the first epsiodes to be leaked with the traditional screenshots + 2 minute clip. This was our first look at both diamonds + their pearls, and people were reasonably excited. Then we entered what we thought was the longest hiatus in fandom history–and we got the In Too Deep special earlier than expected.

Following the special, they announced the Steven Nuke/Summer of Steven. 4 weeks of episodes every night from mid-July to mid-August. Mr. Greg was the first musical episode and the crew hyped it up so much and yet it still had a huge impact on those watching that night. It was nominated for an Emmy one year later in 2017. We got some of the most intense episodes of the show in that bomb, with Amethyst’s arc, Bismuth holding the first half-hour special, the revelation that Rose supposedly shattered Pink Diamond, and Centipeetle’s corruption being explained further. Following SOS, there were weekly episodes and then another short hiatus, until Gem Harvest’s release in November. A short hiatus and then Three Gems and a Baby aired in early December.

During 2016, I meet two of my best friends through the fandom - @always-make-it-gayer and @hackerperidot. Gale and J have been my friends since that summer and because of this fandom, I’ve been less lonely and have had a blast in the ever growing group chat we have (Reverse Garden of Eden). I love you guys, and of course everyone else in the chat.

Following 3GAAB, in early January 2017, the entirety of Stevenbomb 5 drops on the app. Pictures with the diamonds and the zoo and the famethyst were on the internet in seconds. I had been on holiday break from school, and the night this all dropped was the first school night when the break was over. I stayed up very late, watched the episodes when I woke up for school in the morning, and listened to What’s the Use of Feeling Blue on repeat in the cold, snowy weeks to come. This was also right around the time my mom bought a house and we were ready to move in.

I got another birthday episode–Rocknaldo, airing on February 24th. Could’ve been better. I’m not complaining though. SU was crucial during this time because I was feeling very depressed and closed off due to the move and missing the apartment. The New Crystal Gems was the last episode the apartment got to see, and I promised to show Pearl’s backstory when it eventually aired, but we moved too early for that to happen. I like to imagine it can see my journal entries (you can ask if you want, in short it’s a coping mechanism I developed). Thereafter, we had another hiatus leading up to the sixth Stevenbomb with Aquamarine and Topaz. That bomb ended with the saddest episode in the series, finalizing season 4. Then the Wanted event aired, and we got so much lore content and more hints to the Pink Diamond mystery.

There came the biggest hiatus in the fandom’s history to this day. We were so thirsty for content. It was dry as fuck and the only light in the dark was SDCC with the Lars of the Stars clip (which would then air months later) and the trailer for the first half of season 5′s kickoff bomb.

Gemcation airs, and everyone finally understands Pearl’s quirk with covering her mouth in discussions about the diamonds. We all were getting so antsy at this point to find out what was happening with Pink Diamond and the lore behind the show and by god where is White Diamond?

We get Stranded in January 2018, allowing us to spark the “diamonds get revealed in January” meme with the Pink Diamond face reveal. Of course, this is debunked by Legs From Here To Homeworld in July 2018.

We get more episodes in March, and then are plunged into the final reveal in May with the half hour event, Can’t Go Back and A Single Pale Rose. The fandom collectively freaked out with the revelation that Pearl and Rose were diamond and pearl and faked the shattering in an effort to end the war. The people who survived this saw the Heart of the Crystal Gems arc in July. This was the week that held the Rupphire wedding.

Reunited airs, and I am surrounded by 3 of my best friends ( @asassynerdnamedgabbs, @neroblackcat, and @hackerperidot who had been visiting New York from Australia that week ) so I hold myself back from reacting too much. I cried that night out of sheer joy that my favorite show was the first cartoon to show a lesbian wedding on national TV. Of course, we get the diamonds and then SDCC the following weeks, with Legs From Here to Homeworld. I am at my cousin’s graduation party the day of the panel and my phone is slowly losing battery percentage as I try to keep up with the tweets and posts about what was going on. It was a huge deal.

Now we arrive here. Nothing had been shown at last month’s NYCC which is unusual, but that’s okay. We are still on hiatus, and it is SU’s 5th anniversary of being on the air. I am patiently waiting for the show to come back, and I’ll have more memories to make with this fandom in the months to come.

so i was having a conversation with @chogisad​ about uhh ot9 emo-l times so i really wanted to make this post to just… jot down all my feelings about ot9 and exo and address all the negative energies regarding everything that’s been happening as of late? and i know that this really isn’t necessary in any way shape or form, but i really just wanted to do it for me. so i guess this is gonna be a really long post filled with a lot of hope and optimism and positivity for exo’s present and future as ot9 and if you’re interested in that, then by all means continue reading under the cut~

i remember back in 2015 when we experienced our first major Yixing Drought. his studio had just opened in china and he was being flooded with jobs and all the opportunities working in his homeland offered that korea could never give him. i remember being so endlessly proud of him but missing him a lot too. 

because here the rest of exo were in korea doing cf’s and other work and then they went on to do the japan tour without yixing :( and it hurt? because performing at the tokyo dome was such a big deal to them but there were only 8 members and it hurt so much not seeing yixing with them for like 1-2 months? or more? i don’t remember how long the drought lasted but it was our first real Yixing Drought in the fandom. 

and i remember seeing all these theories and conspiracy posts how sm was trying to push yixing out of exo and there was just so much ot8 propaganda- regardless if it came from hurting xingmi’s or actual ot8 stans… there was just so much negativity surrounding everything because yixing just… wasn’t there. and we as fans knew next to nothing and sm, as always, kept their official announcement last minute and vague as hell like when they announced yixing wouldn’t be participating in the japan tour bc of schedules AFTER selling tickets for the concerts DESPITE yixing being like the most popular member in japan. and it was fucking scary. 

hell, we just lost tao after cmb and here we are freshly ot9 and hoping and praying that the next comeback we wouldn’t lose another member. yixing as the last chinese member standing- the only true mark that sm had ever tried breaking into the chinese market with exo at all. and we were scared and terrified because what if sm was pushing him out? what if they were trying to faze him out of exo completely?

and i remember sing for you being ot9 but promoting as x8 members and i kept waiting for someone to mention yixing but they never did? and i was so frustrated bc all these other young groups can mention members who were missing because of injuries or schedules but why couldn’t exo??

doesn’t this all sound familiar? 

but sfy had that memorable showcase moment with yixing breaking and crying and telling us and his members how sorry he was but he reminded us that he was exo too. and bbh was there to reassure us that yixing may be busy overseas, but wherever he goes- yixing still wears the exo name proudly and does this entire fandom proud too. 

and i remember the days leading up to MAMAs in 2015 and we were all sitting there staring at our screens with baited breath waiting to find yixing airport pictures because there was no evidence he was going to hong kong for MAMAs yet and really? how the hell could exo go to this major awards ceremony without yixing? but we were so scared. but he pulled through and he showed up and he gave his finger wagging speech and we all cried and it was good and we were happy and things were okay.

and then things got better when ex’act dropped with The Peak ot9 moments of life and we had ot9 THRIVING! we had family pictures, xingdae came back from the dead, baekxing were inseparable, even chanxing were good and well and capturing hearts of fans. like it was just So Good!!! 

ex’act was really exo telling all of us to not worry. the members weren’t going anywhere. ot9 is here to stay as long as we would have them. and they loved us and they loved each other and everything would be okay. 

even though exo never mentions yixing when they win music shows like how other groups do, i think that’s just because those groups aren’t built the way exo were. i mean exo literally started as k and m and half their group was always away in china promoting because that was Their Job. and i think it’s just a different mentality you know? maybe exo always just knows that when they win, it’s for the whole group. that they don’t need to explicitly call out a missing member because We Are One or something lmao. and i remember during MAMAs 2013 when they won song of the year for growl… kyungsoo wasn’t there bc boy twisted his ankle to no end and had to go to the hospital. but i don’t think they mentioned him missing. and i think… that’s just how exo is. but idk. i think it’s something we’ll never know because we’re not in their minds. 

but we DO know that exo cherishes yixing so much. you can see it in their eyes whenever yixing does a speech in chinese and everyone is just so happy he’s there and they’re so proud of him. you can tell because they ALWAYS hand him the mic when he’s with them at music shows ALWAYS and they make sure he gets to say what he wants to say. and they cheer him on and they support his solo and they love him absolutely so so so much.

… and now here we are. 

and i know there are a lot of doubts and worries going into this repackage and everything. and i honestly don’t know how to start addressing things… but i really want to try. 

with kkb, we all knew it was heavily delayed. i think sm had full intentions of having an ot9 comeback with it being their 5th anniversary / 4th full album comeback. like… it was just common sense. but THAAD happened and political situations/international relations is just out of our/their control. china put a ban on skorea travel. there was a lot of negative energy surrounding it and yixing literally COULD NOT go to korea or even do anything related to exo (ex: the lotte world sponsorship and the amount of backlash that received because of china’s beef w/ lotte for giving up property for the missiles) 

anyways- what i’m trying to say is that sm tried. they delayed the comeback that was probably planned for early summer because they needed to see how this would all play out. they couldn’t do anything about it but wait. that was literally the only option. and yixing is in china with his own studio and he’s waiting too- but everyone has to keep proceeding with business as usual and that means yixing planning schedules that bleed into later months and that means sm going forth with x8 member comeback for kkb. 

and with how delayed kkb was and how sm needed to do exo’s repackage sooner rather than later (for the whole Drama of the Symbolism of the eclipse and shit) i think sm was really pressed for time and things were falling apart rather than together. yixing’s solo album was probably slated for late summer after the kkb comeback focusing his sales and promotions in china. then the repack would (my hope) be ot9 for september and all things would just happen as they should. but with the kkb delay, i think sm realized there wouldn’t be enough time for yixing’s solo. and maybe they thought it’d be best to push it to xingtober anyways. 

and god, im not saying sm makes good decisions because we all know that’s a crapshoot but what i’m saying is that maybe sm tried. there are a lot of things WE AS FANS DO NOT KNOW and just for my sanity, i want to give sm the benefit of the doubt this time. i honest to god think they tried the best they could with ot9 given all the shit that has happened this year. am i saying they did a good job? not really no. because im still stressed as hell and mad and dissatisfied with a lot of things… but i think they did try.

yixing has been seen traveling back and forth btwn china and korea a lot and we don’t know why. sm hasn’t released any official statement on yixing’s participation in the repackage… and i don’t know if that’s something that’s good or bad or if that should be expected or not?

but i honest to god do not believe in any of those posts saying that sm is trying to push yixing our or faze him out or anything. i just don’t. 

i trust yixing. just a few days ago he said he didn’t want to disappoint his group. HIS group. jongdae literally hung out with him and they had lunch together not too long ago either. like maybe a month ago? and it was so lowkey and so precious and so xingdae. and junmyeon said during their vlive that they’d be on stage with yixing soon. and i really truly believe them. because i think sm is trying too. i think all the boys are doing the best they can to handle whatever the hell the situation is. whether it’s political (THAAD) or schedules or other plans sm has… i think they’re trying. and i believe in them. 

and i know i probably sound recklessly optimistic and y’all can tell me that i’m boo boo the fool and that i’m gonna have all my hopes crushed and i’m gonna be disappointed… and maybe so. but i’m not strong enough to crush my own hopes when they already exist. and i have so much hope in exo, i don’t think i could ever willingly do that to myself and tell myself that this is gonna be worst case scenario. i need to believe in the best of our boys just for my sanity’s sake. and god… i really really hope and pray that this repackage is ot9 because i can’t imagine how i would feel if it wasn’t. AT LEAST ALLUDE TO OT9 YA KNOW??? THROW IN SOME LIKE NON SUBTLE HINTS LIKE STRAIGHT UP HAVE A SILHOUETTE OF YIXING SHOW AT THE END OF SMTH LIKE GUESS THAT POKEMON IDK??? JUST… i need to believe in something and i want to believe in ot9 and exo.

and maybe we get an ot9 repack or maybe we get an x8 comeback with a bomb ass yixing solo album soon and maybe we get ot9 back again someday soon and the fandom can breathe again.

sigh okay. i think i’ve said everything i’ve wanted to say. there are some other thoughts i have but i don’t want to mention them just because it’s not something i want to entertain until the mv drops and we know for sure what the deal is.

2015: The Bearding Timeline (pt. 1)

Newbies were freaking out last week because of the picture on Josh’s Instagram. As bas as it was, it wasn’t nearly as bad as 2015. I wasn’t in the Kaylor fandom in 2015, but I was following Taylor at the time, so I had a good idea of the stunt in 2015 before I did my research. So here is the timeline of Taylor’s and Karlie’s bearding in 2015. Pictures are linked on words and dates (should I add them?).

Remember that Kissgate was in December 2014 and that everything in 2015 is the consequence of that event. Calvin Harris was Taylor’s 'boyfriend’ for 15 months. Joshua Kushner has been Karlie’s 'boyfriend’ since 2012. 

I excluded all likes about Tayvin by Taylor, Josh’s comments on Karlie’s Instagram posts (he commented a lot of 🍉), The Kloss’ likes, Taylor’s likes on Calvin’s Instagram and vice versa, and same for Karlie and Josh. 

I don’t particularly like talking about Josh for reasons, but I felt like this was needed for anyone who wasn’t there in 2015. I should say that I won’t call Calvin or Josh any names or assume their sexuality here. That doesn’t mean that I like Calvin. On the contrary, I dislike him for various things but calling him names, for me, is unnecessary. 

January 3: Karlie posts a picture of Josh on Instagram of their trip in NY. 

January 4: Karlie posts a picture of Josh on Instagram of their trip in NY.

January 26: Karlie posts a picture of Josh on Instagram. 

February 3: Karlie posts a video taken by Josh on Instagram. The video was identical to one that Josh posted in 2014. 

February 14: Karlie posts a picture on Instagram for Valentine’s day with Josh in it. 

February 15: Karlie promotes Oscar Health on Instagram. 

February 24: Taylor meets Calvin at the Elle Style Awards in London. Ellie Goulding stated months later that she played matchmaker for them. 

February 25: Taylor talks with Calvin and Mick Jagger at the 2015 Brits in London. 

March 6: On their one year anniversary, Taylor makes it very clear that March 6 is their anniversary, just days after Calvin breaks up with Aarika Wolfe. 

March 22: Josh posts a picture of him and Karlie at a wedding on Instagram. 

March 25: Taylor and Calvin are spotted in Nashville by fans wearing matching outfits. There aren’t any paps in Nashville, so Taylor usually relies on fans to take pictures. 

March 26: Taylor goes to Kenny Chesney concert in Nashville with Clavin Tree and Calvin’s manager. 

April 2: Taylor and Calvin go to Haim’s concert in WH. Taylor basically sits on his lap while they both look really bored. Taylor usually dances/sings at concerts, but she didn’t look that happy there. 

April 14: Calvin is photographed leaving Taylor’s LA house. Taylor, nor her friends, have ever been seen leaving her LA house, so why with Calvin. It’s also a private property where paps aren’t allowed to camp out. 

April 18: Karlie and Josh go to Coachella together.

April 19: Karlie posts a picture of her and Josh at Coachella on Instagram. 

April 24: Josh is at Karlie’s Karlie Kloss x Frame Denim Meet and Greet in NYC.

April 29: Calvin posts a picture on Instagram of Meredith and Olivia. 

April 30: Taylor and Calvin drive around LA. Taylor spends most of her time on her phone though. 

May 3: Karle posts a video on Instagram and comments “courtesy of @joshuakushner”

May 4: Karlie and Josh go to the 2015 Met Gala in NY and Josh looks happy as always.

May 9: Taylor and Haim go to Calvin’s set at the 2015 Wango Tango in CA. 

May 12: Taylor and Calvin go on a date in Venice, CA. 

May 17: Taylor and Calvin attend the 2015 Billboard Music Awards. They go full out with PDA and are later called out for it. Josh and Karlie posts a picture of her close to a lighthouse, making it seem like they’re together, but the post location is in Manhatten, 3 hours away from where the picture was taken. 

May 26: Taylor and Calvin go on a date in NYC.

May 28: Taylor, Calvin and Ed Sheeran eat at The Spotted Pig in NYC. Pictures from that date are proof that their relationships PR. As Taylor and Calvin walked out of the restaurant hand in hand, they unclasped their hands seconds after the paps took pictures and Calvin would have pushed her inside the car if there weren’t any paps. Karlie is seen for the first time arriving at Taylor’s apartment in 2015. Gigi Hadid and Calvin are also there and the picture for Karlie’s 23rd birthday that Taylor posted was taken there. 

May 29: Calvin is photographed leaving Taylor’s apartment. 

June 7: Karlie and Josh go grocery shopping after hiking. 

June 8: Gigi posts a picture of her, Calvin and Karlie in Taylor’s kitchen for the National Best Friend Day (but she barely knows him yet uses a picture with him). 

June 10: Taylor posts the “Swan goals” picture. This is the first picture she has of her ‘boyfriend’ on her SM, but she said in 2014 that her next relationship would be kept private. Also, most likely a latergram (and her hair is completely dry). 

June 12: Karlie posts a picture (collage) made by a fan of Josh and her at the 2014 US Open, an event where they looked like they didn't want to be there, for his birthday. 

June 13: Karlie goes to an event in Russia with Josh. 

June 14: Taylor, Calvin, Gigi, Joe Jonas, and Jessica Alba eat at Soho House in Hollywood, a private place for celebrities, but the paps sill got pictures. 

June 20: Calvin catsits Taylor’s cats. 

June 22: Calvin tweets “I just played a gig inside a giant owl and my girl just changed the entire music industry what a day”.

June 23: Taylor says “I happen to love Scottish people” at her show in Glasglow, Scotland. 

June 28: Taylor, Calvin, Gigi, Joe, and Karlie go on a boat ride in London and pictures were taken by a local PR photographer.

June 29: Calvin attends Taylor’s concert in Dublin. 

June 30: Calvin attends Taylor’s concert in Dublin. 

July 1: Taylor and Calvin eat lunch together in RI. Taylor has to rely on fans to take pictures. 

July 2: Calvin posts a picture of Taylor with the caption “She cooks too” which is sexist (but Tayvins failed to point that out).

July 3: Taylor decides to celebrate the Fourth of July on the Third of July to get pictures of her and Calvin because Calvin has a show on the fourth.

July 9: Karlie posts a picture taken by Josh and Josh posts a picture of his and Karlie’s feet a day before Karlie goes to Taylor’s concert.

July 17: Calvin says in an interview “For me it could be a lot worse, and I'd still be, like, insanely happy with her so I'm good with it”, but in most pictures of them together, he doesn’t look happy. “There’s a hold bunch of times where we’ve been hanging out and nobody’s clocked it. It’s not like every single time we go out, we get a photograph taken of us” which is the opposite of their highly Instagrammed relationship.

July 18: Taylor tries to tell people that Calvin is her prince Charming and Calvin attends Taylor’s concert in Chicago.

July 19: Josh posts a picture of Karlie in Rome. 

August 1: Karlie and Josh are photographed in NYC. Here’s a post talking about it. 

August 3: Karlie’s birthday a.k.a International Watermelon Day 🍉. Taylor decides to post a PR post for Karlie’s birthday pic on SM, but the only problem is that Calvin is the main focus of the picture. Josh also takes the opportunity to use the watermelon in his caption for his birthday post. Karlie comments on Josh’s post with ❤️😍❤️ (she also comments on a fan’s post for her with Thank you so much @swiftkloss ❤️😍❤️ xxxx). 

August 11: Calvin ‘catsits’ Taylor’s cats while she goes to a party.

August 17: Josh posts a picture of Karlie on Instagram.

August 25: Calvin attends Taylor’s concert in LA. 

September 20: Josh posts a picture of Karlie on Instagram.

October 27: Calvin attends Taylor’s concert in Miami.

October 31: Karlie and Josh attend a wedding together. 

November 1: Josh posts a picture of Karlie on Instagram of the wedding they went to.

November 15: Karlie and Lorde attend Satuday Night Live’s afterparty. Josh is pictured there. 

November 16: Taylor posts a picture on Instagram of Olivia Benson with Mariska Hargitay’s Moon Man and an hour later she edits the caption and adds “photocredit: @calvinharris”. 

December 13: Taylor doesn’t celebrate her birthday, but she does go to a birthday party for Apple streaming’s head’s daughter with Calvin. She and Calvin are the only celebrities photographed there. 

December 21: Josh posts a picture of Karlie on Instagram a day after the 1989 World Tour Live is released. 

December 23: Calvin goes to see her in Colorado and they try to make it look like he’s spending Christmas with her by posting pictures on Instagram, but the dates don’t line up. 

December 24: Taylor posts a picture of her and Calvin on Instagram.

December 31: Taylor, Ruby Rose, and the Haim sisters go to Calvin’s set in LV for the countdown.

Well that sums up most of the bearding in 2015. A reminder for newbies that 2015 was the worst year for Kaylor. You know what they say, couples that beard together, stay together.

Just to conclude Tayvin, they broke up in early June 2016. Josh and Karlie are still together (see Josh’s Instagram). If there are any questions about them, my inbox is open. Don’t think that Kaylor is not real because of Josh, there are many reasons why they are bearding together, so do not have doubts when it comes to Josh. Coachella (April 14-16 & 21-23) is soon and they usually go together, so we should expect some pics there (hopefully they’ll skip this year). They haven’t been following their past patterns and have been doing minimal interactions in 2017 (snow pic, the watermelon pic, and the Turks & Caicos pics).

DNAngel 20th Anniversary Celebration!!!!

Here’s the celebration stuff for this year!! Pick and choose what you want, and do whatever you like to celebrate the anniversary of this wonderful manga! Our main goal is rising the fandom from the dead for a year! 

You can write fanfics, poems, an essay about an arc or character relating to a them, draw whatever, make an amv or mmv, color a manga panel, make a GIF...basically, whatever you want!!!! As far as the final countdown you can just list it or whatever since it’s a daily thing. Also don't’ be worried if you forget a day or month, remember this is for fun an the only obligation is your love for the series! I know some people wanna go all the way and if they can’t they just kinda stop but I’d like to ask that even if you just do one thing the whole year that if you like DNAngel you do something for it’s anniversary :)

Also, if you wanna follow the theme, just remember that you can do anything related to the them. So for winter you can do wintery things like “ice” or “cold”, etc. For Valentine’s day and White’s day you can do “love” of any sort, “family” and “gifts” fall under Christmas etc. Basically if you can think of a way to relate it to a theme you’re following the theme :)

20 Years of Harry Potter: Goodreads Members on the Magic of J.K. Rowling’s Books

We were all Muggles once. Before Harry, before Hogwarts, before Quidditch and Sorting Hats, our lives were all a little less magical. That changed on July 26, 1997, when J.K. Rowling published her first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (published a year later in the United States as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone).

Two decades into the boy wizard’s reign, Rowling’s books have spawned blockbuster movies, theme parks, stage productions, and a powerful legacy that rivals those of far older classics.

“Will kids (and adults, as well) still be wild about Harry a hundred years from now, or two hundred?” Stephen King wrote in his review of the fifth book in the series. “My best guess is that he will indeed stand time’s test, and wind up on a shelf where only the best are kept; I think Harry will take his place with Alice, Huck, Frodo, and Dorothy, and this is one series not just for the decade, but for the ages.”
