Ideas for nicknames for characters with serial numbers

(i.e. robots or whatever)

Periodic table: Every element has a unique atomic number and 1-3 letter abbreviation. You could spell things with the abbreviations directly or dig into the etymology of the element a bit. (Example: 80 is the atomic number of Mercury. Mercury is also the name of a Roman god who was known to the Greeks as Hermes. If your robot's serial is 80, they can use that reasoning to be nicknamed Hermes.)

Phone pad words: Remember the bad old days before phone touchscreens when if you wanted to text the letter 'S' (the most frequent consonant in English), and your phone didn't have a physical keyboard, you had to tap 7 four times like a chump? Relive those bygone days. (Example: 5387 spells 'jets'.)

Calculator words: Some numbers look like words when viewed on an upside-down calculator. 5181 looks like 'ibis', for example. Plenty of potential for puerile fun too ('holes', 'boobs', etc.)

Astronomical objects: (Asteroids, etc.) Many of these have generated numbers plus word names. (Random examples: exoplanet Wolf 1069, asteroid 99942 Apophis.)

yeah, I have a few! When I moved up here I was only allowed to take a few things, but I managed to bring a hard drive just full with like, old, classical games. You do not wanna know how much it cost me, but most of them [besides a few corrupted ones :( ] work fine when emulated.

But, yeah! Favourite game definitely changes, but probably the Oldest Scrolls series? Even though they made about 16 different versions of the fifth instalment which - when you’re trawling through these ancient file directories - can be irritating and confusing. Still I have hours and hours sunk into it. Infact, I can find the exact amount, if you give me two moments.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but please if you’ve been playing pkmn romhacks on your homebrew 3ds . please use NSUI to inject them as virtual console titles instead of running them thru the gba emulator in TwiMenu. for some reason didn’t know about NSUI until a few days ago so I’ve just been like. Well if this hack crashes in twimenu it must just not be compatible. WRONG ! couldn’t play emerald rogue at all thru mgba in twimenu but I injected it as VC and it plays flawlessly. And also is a really fun play on handheld. ok psa over

ipads are legitimately a great option at this point for drawing tablets and it infuriates me to no end that apple isn't completely pivoting to this market. Imagining an 18" ipad that can actually connect to a computer or that can run macOS apps while still having an enjoyable UX using the apple pencil for navigating (which is VERY POSSIBLE) has me losing my mind.

#apple bad etc but like all tech companies bad and apple has the distinct advantage of generally providing a really satisfying and easy UX #while also having the most satisfyingly designed hardware #they had a software called sidecar where you can use your ipad as a second monitor for your mac #and it's a fucking incredible concept but unfortunately it doesn't run very well #and they haven't really tuned the ipad to interact well with macOS apps #but like THEY COULD EASILY #and probably could capture a huger percentage of the digital arts market than they already have #because listen. Wacom. Makes ok stuff but dealing with the DRIVERS #And like an ipad basically is apple's drawing tablet line at this point #like no matter how much they try to be like ohhh its for everything #its best uses are visual arts and roblox and like.
