Lmao, I hate Frecklewish, but I saw a ship of these two on a YouTube community post, and I love making up AU's. 

Pretty rough AU, somewhat vague in some areas, where around the time the kits are born, Appledusk sneaks onto TC territory late at night to meet Maple and the kits; however, he runs into frecklewish, who nearly kills him. For some reason, she spares him and doesn't question why Apple is in their territory. She is too upset over Birchfaces passing to even focus on the actual issues. Somehow, something happens where they start meeting up more and eventually get to talking. And for some reason, Frecklewish is pretty chill for the most part. (She's too depressed to try and kill someone.) Err Appledusk is just kind of awkward because she keeps asking why he killed her brother, and he can't answer that. He keeps trying to explain how it was never meant to kill Birchface, but she doesn't listen. The canon continues; however, Frecklewish does try to save the kits; however, Appledusk needs to save her as the rapids grow too strong. Uhhh, timeskip, where frecklewish is confined to RC camp and pops the question of why he saved her. He cannot answer. In truth, it's because he's grown somewhat fond of her despite how cold and dry she is toward him, though he guesses it's deserved considering her point of view of their whole situation. She's slightly upset that he won't answer her, but she's too exhausted to bother pushing him to answer. She is too bitter over her brother's death and even more bitter and enraged to find out her "friend" has been lying to her. Appledusk takes up the duty of guarding her, and they do manage to bond over their lost loved ones. (Her brother and his kits), and realizing how they both took something from each other, they kind of just had a talk. Frecklewish does have a bit of a reflective arc where she does listen to his side. And even though she wants to, she can't bring herself to hate him any longer or to force herself to believe he's lying. One thing leads to another, and they are in a secret relationship. Frecklewish does return to TC camp, but they've met up at the bridge to talk. Canon continues, but the deaths are in a different order, and after Ravenwing, she goes after Appledusk, who still dies to protect Reedshine (Reedshine is with his sister Milkfur in this AU, and they're just super cool friends). Frecklewish is last on the hit list but doesn't die, but her vision can't be saved. Bloomheart is the one to kill Mapleshade, though. She later had two of his kits. Doefeather (star) and Squirrelwhisker. (Geeze, so many cats in PC and GC don't have parents.)

What are Freckle and Apple renamed to? Freckle feels like a Thyme something to me.

I have no idea just yet, admittedly ^^’

Frecklewish is keeping her prefix, since it’s a fully acceptable name by Woodruffian standards! But -wish has got to go; it’s not a viable suffix. I’ll probably give her a relatively common suffix (pelt or fur seems good; she’s not especially notable skill-wise from what we were shown. Freckleheart might be the best for her, though, considering how passionate she is in everything she does).

Appledusk’s name doesn’t make any sense, especially not to a Riverwarden. They don’t have access to fruits, and “dusk” isn’t a viable suffix (.. I think. It’s been a while since I’ve looked at my suffix list). So his name is getting fully overhauled. He’ll probably get the “-face” suffix, as a parallel of Birchface alongside as a nod to how many mollies that dickwad managed to pull lol

Everything in canon happens all the same, but things change after Frecklewish attempts to save MapleApples kits. Appledusk saves Frecklewish, and she is stuck in Riverclan due to her injuries. Somehow, she and Appy start talking, and one thing leads to another.

I dislike the ship Frecklewish x reedshine. Frecklewish would have HATED her, considering she hated appledusk and verbally lashed out at three kits because they were related to him (the kits had nothing to do with birch’s murder) it makes me uncomfortable too, heck, ANY reedshine ship makes me uncomfortable. Appledusk cheated on her, Mapleshade tried to murder her, and Frecklewish would have hated her for being connected with Apple. Can we let reedshine be single? She doesn’t have to have a mate

Hello I am interested in your Mapleshade Maplestar AU please elaborate, particularly the history and deviations from canon that lead up to this AU and, but I want to know everything

EEEE okay so im hoping to make it a like. Big AU of all the things i wanna change in canon (however because ive never read the books past like a few o audio books of the one offs (MV, GC, PC etc) and the mangas i…… am a bit slower on knowing diff things)

For the maple part of the AU she manages to stay in thunderclan and falls in love with frecklewish. She still gets almost exiled but frecklewish steps in at the last minute defending her. Because Oakstar can’t bare the thought of hurting his daughter he leaves the issue alone and dismisses the clan. This means patchkid, petalkit and larchkit live! Ravenwing kinda hates mapleshade for the first bit of this au after finding out the truth since he’s made she doesn’t get punished, however on an outing that she, freckle and the kits take freckle gets bit by a snake and maple and raven manage to save her. After that raven respects her a bit more. At a gathering riverclan is confronted about their warrior appledusk having had a cross clan relationship which causes a bit of a stir. Because of this he loses a lot of respect from his clanmates and he grows pretty bitter about it. His apprentice doesn’t seem to respect him as much and his mate, reedshine, doesn’t trust him. He develops the idea that he’ll attack maple during a battle to try and get revenge on her however as time grows and as he see her living (in his eyes) with 0 consequences he decides to take the idea further and wanted to kill her all together. He eventually tries to however perchpaw ends up being the one to save her after he also tries to attack one of her kits (larchpaw). Appledusk is exiled for his reckless behaviour and because he “hasn’t shown sighs of improving his behaviour” and so he goes after maple once more however he’s ultimately killed (still havent figured out how yet).

After this, later on, larchpaw starts talking to perchpaw at gatherings and they end up developing a friendship (and later a relationship). Meanwhile, patchpaw develops a relationship with nettlepaw! And finally petalpaw, far into the future, possibly becomes a kittypet (i havent decided if she stays one). I might have her replace crystal actually and instead be the mother of jake, and his siblings. Alternatively i could make her the mother of firestar but im not sure the ages between jake and her at that point… i gotta do some digging.

Oakstar also offers mapleshade the position of deputy rather than doefeather. She basically replaces doestar as leader and appledusk replaces her in the villain roll in later stories maybe. Still figuring it out.

Other than that, things i also wanna change are:

- Hawkfrost X leafpool…. Maybe… perhaps

- snowkit survives

-cinderpelt is handled differently

-fading is stupid and doesnt happen (i have a diff idea for starclan and stuff)

-im not sure if i’ll merge my maplestar and featherstar aus but if i do then featherstar happens and leopardstar dies lol

-uhhh…. I forgot all my other ideas lol

Birchface x Reedshine hypokits? ;3

I’m back yall! Meet LightShade (they/them), kit of birchface and reedshine. I’ve been wanting to add little lore/backstory to these guys so ima start with them.

Birchface and reedshine had a small Romance sometime before MV, having to break it off due to the warrior code. Lightkit was born shortly after reedshine and Appledusk became mates. Apple cheats with mapleshade, Appledusk kills birchface, reedshine grieves, mapleshade is exiled and is brought too riverclan but is exiled however this time reedshine breaks up with apple even tho she’s preg. Mapleshade gets a good look at lightpaw before she was kicked out of riverclan and realizes who their father is, she later brings it up during the snakerocks confrontation asking freckle if she would’ve treated her own brothers kid with the same distaste as she did with maples kids once she found out they where from riverclan, Frecklewish is shocked but Is bit by an adder before she could reply. The rest of MV Plays out the same after that. Even though LightShade has a disdain for Appledusk because he killed their dad, he still loves his half siblings when they’re born and they die as an elder sometime during crookedstars promise.

Appledusk x birchface hypokits

(Weird crackship I know)

Finally got around to this! Sorry for the wait, but here you go! A jack , and two mollies. With only the youngest making it to her full name. Which she is the first Meddy I’ve rolled too! (I roll a D20 for special ranks with 19 being Meddy and 20 being Leader) so this is a special litter.

I had to work to figure this all out I swear- but basic story I came up with is this.

Birchface is a trans Tom, and along with Mapleshade and Reedshine he is wooed by Appledusk. Though he was a bit later then Mapleshade.

She had her kits, and unlike in canon, they passed away young. Presumably before Birchface has his litter of three. When he has them, Otterkit, Shadekit and Hazelkit it’s clear to Mapleshade who their father is.

First she’s upset, enraged, but with the loss of her kits she spins a tale that maybe these kits are to take the place of her litter. Instead of Frecklewish being the overbearing one- it’s Mapleshade. She’s desperate to become their mother. Birchface is accepting of it, after all he understands. He’d probably be the same if he lost his litter.

After that I’m having a bit of a harder time coming up with the rest of the story. Mapleshade probably manages to also lead at least a part of the litter to their deaths. Hazelpaw who would’ve ended up Hazelthroat blinded by Mapleshade and left for dead (she probably refused to follow Mapleshade) and was renamed Deadeye. Her sister and sibling killed due to Mapleshade’s next actions.

Birchface horrified he ever let a cat he assumed to be his friend close to his kids, and Appledusk like canon refusing Mapleshade. And thus canon takes place of Mapleshade hunting down Clan cats.

Sorry for the lackluster story- but here they are. Otterpaw would’ve been named… Ottershade (they would’ve been named somewhat in honor of Maple if she hadn’t Y’know) and then Shadepaw would’ve been Shadestream cause I can see her taking to the water.

see what i want is for warrior cats (both the story team and the official website) to ACKNOWLEDGE the sexism and the misogyny within the books. so many female characters are condemned or punished when male characters who did the exact same things or worse get off scot free.

i want them to acknowledge that starclan was incredibly cruel to leafpool from tnp up to squirrelflight’s hope. i want them to acknowledge that frecklewish did far less wrong than the male characters in mapleshade’s vengeance. i want them to acknowledge that squirrelflight has done nothing to deserve the treatment she gets, and that her and bramblestar’s relationship is unhealthy at best. i want them to acknowledge that the female characters get far worse off than the male characters and actually try to change things.

how I imagine this ship;

it takes place after all of the Mapleshade drama. Oakstar, in order to keep Frecklewish alive, works something out with Darkstar and sends his daughter over

things are tense and no one makes Frecklewish feel welcome

no one except this very kind warrior who is thoughtful enough to bring Frecklewish prey on her first day in there [Eeltail], though Frecklewish feels too unwell to eat and she doesn't want fish

not long after she's brought there, the very next day in fact, she finds that someone else is brought into the medicine cat den with her

Reedshine, who almost died

things are tense between the two mollies at first, as by this point it has reached the ThunderClan warrior's ears that Reedshine was Appledusk's mate

the same Appledusk who is now dead

Frecklewish, bitter, remarks that she's glad he's dead and Reedshine hisses at her, stating that RiverClan herbs shouldn't be wasted on someone like Frecklewish

Eeltail has to come in and mediate the two while the medicine cat checks both cats over, scolding them for acting like ill-behaved apprentices

Reedshine is all clear, though the medicine cat wants to monitor her to make sure the kits themselves will be fine

Frecklewish is still suffering and needs to be held in

the two refuse to talk for a couple of days, only doing so when Eeltail comes in and strikes up a conversation

eventually, though, when stopping a fight between the pregnant queen and the blind warrior, Eeltail snaps and states that Frecklewish has a point - that Appledusk did, in fact, suck and he was an awful cat

however, before Frecklewish feels too smug, Eeltail tells her that the warrior should be ashamed for taunting someone about the loss of a loved one, especially since she should know how bad it stings - even if it's a cat like Appledusk

this shuts them both up and Eeltail leaves for the night

early that morning, both cats find they're awake. They start talking - actually talking - and they find the two of them have a lot in common. Both she-cats want to do their best for the cats around them and both were struggling with loss.

Reedshine apologizes, both for acting like a complete toad and for what Appledusk had did to Birchface

Frecklewish apologizes, too, for not considering that Reedshine was hurting - she also tells Reedshine what happened wasn't the orange tabby's fault

this brings them closer together

and eventually the two of them and Eeltail become all very close

when Frecklewish is abandoned by her own father because she's blind and, in his cruel eyes, worthless, Reedshine and Eeltail work together to convince Darkstar to keep Frecklewish

they also help her find her place in RiverClan, as fishing while blind isn't the best idea and neither is swimming

but they manage, helping her find duties like assisting the medicine cat on gathering herbs and keeping track of the troublemaking apprentices while they're in camp

the three become mates by the time Reedshine's kits are born and each one names a kit; Willowkit, Sandykit, and Birchkit [Willow, Apple, Shy]

the three can butt heads from time to time, but there's always someone ready to mediate and they maintain a happy relationship as three caring moms

How do you feel about firestar X sandstorm? Also, if you could rewrite mapleshade vengeance, how would you?

And that’s a tricky one. I do really like the original so I might not change it that much, but I would probably give it a few tweaks perhaps? First of all - no kit hallucinations. Scrap those.

So Ravenwing. I would want him to maybe mumble one thing to covey that he didn’t think Oakstar was going to banish the kits, before Oakstar ignores him, and Ravenwing backs down - making him a coward in Mapleshade’s eyes. So she would still kill him for the reasons she does in the book, and for so being “cowardly” and failing to stop Oakstar from banishing the kits since he technically had some authority to try and do so if it is a matter with StarClan. That way Raven still would have failed the kits but not as badly as he did in canon since he would try a little bit here to step in.

Frecklewish- I want her to do the same she does in the book but up to a certain point - I want her to be mean, but I don’t want her at the river. I want her to still be a dick but I don’t want her to be near the river when the kits drown. Later on after Mapleshade has killed Ravenwing, she goes to TC territory with the intent of killing Oakstar. There is a patrol, and lo and behold, Oakstar is there, perfect! As well as Frecklewish. Mapleshade obviously needs to get him alone, but then as she starts to scheme she starts to have doubts, she doesn’t know how many lives Oakstar has left, could she kill him totally before his patrol finds them? She’s not so sure. Then suddenly it dawns on her and she’s looking at Oakstar talk to his daughter - what greater way to hurt Oakstar than to take away his kit? Make him feel the same pain that she did. And anyway, in Mapleshade’s eyes Frecklewish would deserve it anyway. So Mapleshade leaves Frecklewish to the adders as she does in canon, taunts Frecklewish, and tells her how slowly she’s going to die now that ThunderClan has no medicine cat. The reason I don’t want Frecklewish to be near the river when the kits drown is because I want her to be a more innocent party in Mapleshade’s eyes, I want her to be caught more in the crossfire than be a direct target of Mapleshade’s rage, to Mapleshade Frecklewish is just a means to hurt Oakstar, and it’s just a bonus for Mapleshade that Frecklewish happened to be mean.

Instead of going after Appledusk initially for the third murder I want Mapleshade to target Reedshine specifically since she blames her for Appledusk not siding with Mapleshade more when the kits died, and also killing Reedshine would “punish” Appledusk for his disloyalty to her and their children. Things go down like in the book except Reedshine is the original target of the attack.

Patchnose AU part 3

- Some time passes and the kitty cat society is doing pretty good besides the occasional dog on their territories or other casual stuff. Oakstar is beaming with support for the three apprentices, in fact, the whole clan is. Ravenwing too, although he’s been getting a little fidgety lately near Mapleshade in particular. Petalpaw sees this and acknowledges something might be wrong, but she doesn’t really know what exactly. 

- Larchpaw is now known in the clan as one of the fiercest apprentices there ever lived, as he’s done many honorable things for his clanmates well being, including chasing a few dogs off with nasty scars by himself, and solving a few border squabbles. He himself has earned a scar across his cheek, one that never really faded, but he’s proud of it. He says it’s the sign that he’ll be a good asset to the clan. His mentor couldn’t be more proud of him, and often says he’d already be a warrior by now, but Larchpaw keeps getting distracted during his warrior assesments, and fails them every time, thus his ceremony getting delayed.

- As for Patchpaw, he’s not really doing much. He’s just trying to live his life peacefully, not really caring about becoming a warrior too early, but at his own pace. This causes Larchpaw to sometimes lash out at him, but he hopes it’s just because of the stress. After all he knows how much Larchpaw tries to impress everyone, so it’s only natural he wants to be one already. Patchpaw has also been sitting around with Petalpaw for a while now, and Ravenwing often has to chase him away to actually let her learn stuff.

- Speaking of Ravenwing, he’s now had the dream about the reeds flooding camp or stuff. He connects the dots, but decides to confront Mapleshade about it first, before doing anything else he knows he might regret, as he cares for Petalpaw dearly as his apprentice. Only, in this case, Mapleshade doesn’t just straight up tell him yeah, they’re Appledusk’s, no, she actually tries to lie further. During this time she and Appledusk actually got into a fight on the border, where she almost managed to claw his eyes out, but was ultimately stopped by a Riverclan patrol approaching. So she doesn’t want to let the possibility of having a good life for that piece of rotting crow food. Ravenwing sort of wishes he could believe her, but seeing the anger in her eyes, isn’t so sure about this.

- The next time he and Petalpaw go to the Moonstone he tries to find Birchface himself and ask about it, only to be greeted by some other cat. Petalpaw on the other hand, is visited by none other, than Birchface himself. He wants to finally meet her, and, once she gets to know it’s her supposed dead father, she nuzzles close to him. The tom’s not surprised by this, he knows how her upbringing looked, even if it’s from another perspective. He also brings her the message to ‘ Beware, for the stream is more twisted than it looks.’ She doesn’t understand it, but wakes up before she can ask for any more guidance. She sees Ravenwing already left, and goes to meet him at the entrance to Moonstone. He seems irritated with something, but dismisses her questions, and orders her to start the journey back to camp alone. 

- Warriors are distressed when they see her entering alone, without her mentor. They think something must’ve happened to Ravenwing, and Oakstar joins in quickly, once hearing the commotion outside his den. Hearing her side of the story, Larchpaw chimes in, saying he’ll go himself and look for the medicine cat, only to be shushed by both Oakstar and Frecklewish, who don’t want anything to happen to any of their clanmates. This leaves Larchpaw angry, and Petalpaw swears she can almost hear her brother hissing under his breath. He goes out of the camp anyway, excusing himself to the sandy hollow. 

- Patchpaw runs after his brother to ensure nothing bad happens to him, of course getting Frecklewish’s approval first. When he catches up to the cat, a conversation happens.

“ Larchpaw, Oakstar is worried for your safety. What if something happens to you? It’s outside Thunderclan territory, and we don’t know what happened to Ravenwing. Please, let’s just go back to camp together and we can find a way-”

“ So what if Oakstar says so? He’s just an old cat.” Larchpaw growled, turning his head around to face his brother. “ It doesn’t even matter what he says. I know how to fight far better than him. I should be a warrior already, and leader after him.” His tail whipped in anticipation, but Patchpaw only looked on in horror, as he realised what that meant.

“ You can’t possibly think that. We’re his grandkits! Birchface was Oakstar’s son, he cares about you just as much as Petalpaw and me!”

“ Oh, hasn’t Starclan told you or her yet like they did to me?” The brown tom took a step towards Patchpaw, who suddenly felt very tense, and, irrationally, spiked the fur on his tail. Larchpaw noticed, and quickly stopped in his tracks to glance at his brother’s face. “ Birchface isn’t our father. Never was. “

- At this moment he’s cut off by Ravenwing suddenly showing up. The dark tom  heard what Larchpaw said, and is furious. He knew it was true, but never thought he’d hear it from one of the kits themselves. 

- Patchpaw tries to defend his brother, stating that he’s just jealous of not being let go to search for him, but Ravenwing pushes himself behind Patchpaw, standing in his way to Larchpaw. Note: Larchpaw is the biggest of the three and has some weird fur condition where it sticks like crazy, but also makes him seem even bigger. He’s already Raven’s height, and he’s younger than him. So, whereas Ravenwing seems scary to Patchpaw, he’s also much more terrified of how Larchpaw’s gaze darkens while looking at the medicine cat. He also sees his tail start switching slightly, as if getting ready to strike. This realisation charges him with enough energy, to run full speed into Ravenwing’s body, thus sweeping the tom off his feet, just as Larchpaw lunges into the spot where the cat just stood. The two apprentices tumble onto the ground, with Larchpaw spitting insults at the smaller cat. 

- Meanwhile Ravenwing runs straight to the camp, Patchpaw has given him enough time to escape and go get help, in case he didn’t manage to calm his brother down. What he didn’t think of though, was Larchpaw silently getting up, and chasing after the medicine cat. Now Patchpaw starts panicking, both cause of what his brother said, and of his actions. How would he dare attack a cat with such authority? Would he do the same to Petalpaw? Or worse, Oakstar? He tries following them to camp, but finds blood stains about halfway in. Running into the camp he finds Larchpaw standing in the centre, blood flowing from the gush on his shoulder, and Frecklewish separating him from Ravenwing, who’s laying on the ground in shock. He sees Petalpaw trying to comfort her mentor, but he only hisses at her to stay back. At this moment, Oakstar comes into the clearing and jumps to his usual clan gathering spot. With calm voice, he says

“Cats of Thunderclan. Today we’ve encountered a betrayal from one of our closest, most skilled companions. I’ve been told things I’ve never thought I’d hear, especially from a medicine cat. Larchpaw, from this day forward, you have no entrance on the Thunderclan territory. You’ve lost your privelleges as an apprentice the second you’ve decided to lay claws on Ravenwing. Leave, and never come back. As for you, Mapleshade” he turned his head to the shocked she-cat, who’s just walked to her son’s side “You’re welcome to join him for all the lies you’ve told your clanmates.”

I guess I need to update my rules post - it IS mostly about Hypokits, sorry it was confusing Goobie! Have Extra Cats as a bonus! And a larger AU!

In the Mapleshade AU, she wanted kits but not a Husband, and Birchface agreed. Birch also introduced her to his half-brother Appledusk. He sadly dies when an unnamed Riverclan warrior knocks him into the river. Flowerpaw is stopped by Maple from jumping in. After the kits are born, Oakstar becomes suspicious, and declares Mapleshade a traitor, banishing her. Flowerpaw protests - she’s seen Maple and Birch together! - and gets banished as well. They hustle together over the river, strangely calm in the raging storm, and Appledusk meets her on the border, having heard Birch’s spirit calling him. Darkstar is somewhat understanding, but refuses to allow Mapleshade to stay, citing not wanting a war with Thunderclan. Flowerpaw suggests Maple stay at the Barn, and be allowed to visit her kits, which Darkstar agrees to. Reedshine and Appledusk adopt the kits, changing their names as a cover, and Mapleshade promises to visit at the next half-moon. During her next visit, Ravenwing, who swore to a false sign, is killed before the gathered healers when a rock falls as he goes to enter the Moonstone cave, and an owl carries him off. Oakstar blames Mapleshade, but a Riverclan patrol claims to have seen her on the border of Windclan at the time - only half a lie. Frecklewish - who attacked Maple - is bitten by the snake, but survives - doomed to the elder’s den for her short life. Eventually, as her kits grow up, Mapleshade moves on, seeing them become warriors before heading off to found a less stringent Sisters.

In the PineGoose AU, Pineclaw is aware of his relation to the Riverclan warriors, his father having spilled the proverbial beans when ill. Goosepaw is apprenticed at the proper age, and has an easier time with spirits, with a strange tortie tom warding off the worst offenders and giving him reality checks. Pineclaw and Goosefeather have their forbidden romance, and when Goose becomes pregananant, the pair nearly flee, but the tortie - Shyheart if you haven’t guessed - drags Moth Wing down to give visions of approval. Old cats Pinestar and Goosefeather move to be daylight elders when Pinestar’s legs start to fail, and Jake’s neighbors are the oddest guys! They approve of Talltail.

Originally I was gonna go for more rounded eyes and muzzle, and longer fur in general. The base colors stay the same but the colors of the blotches that overlap with the tortie markings are altered to stand out more.
