butters stotch headcanon i’ve had for a while

so y’know how butters is one of the only people with a southern accent?

Well, I know it’s canon that he was in preschool with the boys, (and I know this sing quite how accents work but just bear with me) but imagine if Butters was actually born on a farm in the south? (say Oklahoma or something?)

And maybe his parents were both born and raised in the south as well and it took a while for them to get rid of their accents, but maybe while Butters was growing up he was taught to talk with a southern drawl?

And maybe the only reason he ‘kept’ his accent is because he thinks it’s a part of him and he likes that part of him because it reminds him of how special he is.

And maybe with the farm, he had a lot of animals growing up? I mean, he was really good with the cows in the ‘Fun with Veal’ episode (and even named them all), so imagine if until he was three or so he was on a farm, and maybe interacted with some of the smaller animals (chicks mainly; bunnies too.)

And when he’s a teenager he buys a few chicks that he keeps in his room mainly for company when he gets grounded? And then when he escapes the hellhole that is his house he buys out a farm and a bunch of animals (chicks, goats, cows, maybe a horse, pigs, and maybe he even gets a border collie! He names the Border Collie ‘Waffles’).

Just a fun thought.

No podría vivir en una casa que no pueda cuidar yo mismo. Lo noto ahora que estoy cuidando otra vez 15 días la casa que otrora cuidaba mi padre: una propiedad con frente, fondo, sistema de riego automatizado, termostato galáctico (es como tener tu propio planeta terraformado con tus especificaciones, sospecho que si encuentro el botón correcto puedo crear nubes bajo techo), losa radiante, línea directa con la NASA y sabe dios qué más. Típica casa de catálogo o publicidad idílica. Ahora también tiene piscina (un accesorio que me es completamente indiferente). No tengo idea de cómo mantener operativa una piscina, por suerte hay un señor que viene a encargarse de eso una vez a la semana, y personas que se encargan del jardín, y otra que viene a limpiar. Me incomoda todo, no viviría en una casa que no pueda limpiar, con espacios verdes que no pueda cuidar, con una piscina que no pueda domesticar. No confundan esto con envidia, agradezco y disfruto mucho estos días con vacaciones pagas en una casa que tiene sus humanos esclavos que la acicalan, dos gatas hermosas, netflix, disney+ y star+ en smart TV que se ve desde la luna… además mis contratantes son casi familia, son la única razón que me mantiene vivo económicamente en este pozo capitalista desempleado que me atrapó hace casi un año. ¿Podría vivir en esta casa gigante que me toca custodiar en estos días? Por supuesto. La selva crecería alrededor, fauna hostil se instalaría en su entorno, apenas habría un camino creado únicamente por el desgaste producido por mis pasos. La piscina sería un foso seco destinado a tomar alcohol y drogas. La tv solo funcionaría con youtube gratis. Eso sí: las gatas serían aún las reinas del territorio, eso no es negociable. Mi casa tiene solo una cosa que esta no: puedo dejarla sola 15 días que no pasa nada, sobrevive. Esta otra imposible, por eso estoy acá, todo lo superfluo necesita del ser humano para sobrevivir.

Buenas, desde el grupo 2, queremos seguir mostrando los avances de nuestro proyecto. En esta ocasión nos hemos centrado más en la carpa multiusos/observatorio. Para ello, nos hemos inspirado de varias obras, que se mostraran luego, como son El museo del Loto una obra de Fariborz Sahba y el museo británico de Robert Smirke. Del primero nos gustó la forma, pensamos que la parte exterior podría quedar bien como resultado de la carpa abierta. En cambio del museo británico nos gustó el pilar central, las escaleras y finalmente, nos llamó la atención que juego que le da a luz. Con esa idea en mente, la de luz, investigamos para incorporarla a nuestro proyecto, nos pareció interesante y que se pueden obtener cosas sensacionales. No obstante, el vidrio no lo vemos adecuado para nuestro proyecto, no podemos perder el foco de la razón inicial por la que situamos la carpa en la finca: dar sombra durante las horas de sol a las personas, tanto trabajadores como visitantes, que estuviesen por la parte alta en esos momentos. Buscábamos un material que diese luz y sombra, el cual protegiese del sol directo pero que no aislase totalmente. En esta búsqueda, dimos con el complejo del Louvre Abu Dabi es obra del arquitecto francés Jean Nouvel, inspirandonos en eso, obtuvimos el material que queríamos para la carpa.
