First day of fasting tomorrow.
I’m gonna try to go deeper than ever before.
The last year has caused more grey hair than all previous years combined.
I want to come out of this Ramadan with:
total restored faith in my career and in love
a relieved heart and trust in Allah ﷺ for the future: my wellbeing, my mom's healing, a partner in love and in life, children, and business building.
for the sadness I still see in my eyes to be totally removed
clarity around the business and how to press the gas - how to build the right team that can get us to the next level
a positive heart and mind - to quiet the self-critical voice in my head, to trust myself fully - to be bolder.
to be able to dream again - without hesitation
I'm dedicating myself to:
consistent tahujjud prayer
4 big acts of Zakaat
finally memorizing english and arabic of Ayat Al Kursi (plssss lol)
detailed dua for forgiveness, mercy, favor, improved health, increased wealth (and everything above)
detailed dua for my loved ones
daily Quran reading
only music with minimal words to keep my mood/thinking clear
One year imma not do this all alone. 🥹 I really dropped some tears today from what felt like.....loneliness?
Nonetheless, my favorite time of year is here.
Ramadan '24 ✨ Let's goooooo!

Grief Glasses
When my husband passed away, I donned a pair of grief glasses. It wasn’t by choice – they just appeared on my face, promptly perched themselves on my nose, and made a home there.
Everything I saw was tinted by the lens of grief. A cup of tea was no longer a cup of tea. It was a missed chance to chat with my best friend. A load of laundry was no longer a load of laundry. It was a reminder that I’d never need to help him do laundry again.
The heartbreak seeped into every single thing.
There were people who tried to snatch the glasses right off my face. They tried telling me, “don’t be sad – he’s in a better place!” They tried convincing me that seeing the world tinted by shades of grief was a terrible thing. But when they tried to grab the glasses from me, all they did was leave scratch marks around my eyes. Those glasses were super glued right to my face.
Even when I tried to yank them off by being completely absorbed by projects or tasks, the grief held onto me for dear life – taking root in me and promising never to let go.
But over time, the glue beneath the glasses lost its strength and it all came undone. I was able to take them off and see a cup of tea for what it was – warm comfort. I was able to see laundry for what it was – the bane of my existence. Not everything was tinted by grief anymore. And I was glad, so very glad, that my Lord helped me reach this point.
But you know what? Those glasses that so forcefully perched themselves on my nose and so proudly laid claim to a space on my face…I needed them. I needed to understand what it meant to be broken and to see everything in life differently than I did before. Because what is the point of grief if it doesn’t fundamentally change you?
I saw beautiful things through those grief glasses, too. I saw people love me and hold me up. I saw a side of Allah’s Mercy I had never seen before. I saw my duas being answered, again and again. I saw the words of the Quran come alive in my heart. I saw this life for what it truly was - temporary.
It was because of my tinted vision that I experienced those things.
If you see someone with those grief glasses on – don’t try to snatch them away. It won’t work. Let them see what they see and feel what they feel. Extend your hand towards them, gently remind them of Allah’s plan and ability over all things, and patiently wait. They’ll loosen over time and with the permission and assistance of God.
Even though my grief glasses have been tossed to the side for now, looking through them for so long changed the way my eyes see and heart feels. And that’s not a sad thing. That’s a beautiful thing. Alhamdulillah.
"...And they will say, 'Praise to Allah, who has removed from us [all] sorrow. Indeed, our Lord is Forgiving and Appreciative. (35:34).

Losing a loved one is one of the major trials of life many of us will encounter. Grief from that loss is a natural reaction that takes a different trajectory for different people. Some people describe grief as a dark fog that is difficult to shake, others speak of the suffocating regret and anxiety that often accompany those feelings, still others speak about grief as waves that rise up and subside at different points.
“And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient, Who, when disaster strikes them, say, “Indeed we belong to Allah , and indeed to Him we will return.” Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the guided.” [Quran; 2:155-157]
Sometimes people are expect to follow a particular timeline of grief, but the reality is that the journey of grief is different for everyone. Counsellors and bereavement supporters often speak about the five stages of grief that were popularized in the famous book On Death and Dying by psychiatrist Elizabeth Kubler-Ross namely: denial (as you begin to come to terms with the reality of the situation, denial begins to fade and difficult feelings may begin to surface), anger/anxiety (anger is the body’s natural reaction to threat and, oftentimes, there is no greater threat than the loss of someone you love or the loss of the way you envisioned life would be. Anger can also feel powerful during times when we feel powerless. You may experience nervousness, heart palpitations, restlessness, irritability, and/or difficulty breathing), bargaining (this stage often includes “If only…” statements due to the feelings of regret that come up with loss. This stage is characterized by an overwhelming desire for life to return to the way it was), depression (you might feel down and cry more often than you usually do. It may also feel like you have less motivation and find less enjoyment in activities you used to love. This stage can feel as though it’ll stretch on forever) and acceptance (it involves accepting the reality that this person is physically gone and that this new reality is the permanent reality. Acceptance does not mean that you’re “ok” with what happened. The loss of someone you love will likely never feel ok. The goal in this stage is to learn how to live with this loss and create a new normal despite the huge piece that is missing). However, recent research and understanding has concluded that grief can be an individualized and unpredictable experience and no two people’s experiences will be the same.
Let us look at some advice in the Quran and Sunnah to help us cope with grief and the loss of a loved one:
Shed tears as much as you want, but don’t let the tongue say what may displease Allah
Our Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) experienced grief at many points of his life, often at the loss of loved ones. During these experiences he taught us that grief is a natural emotion and that Allah does not hold us accountable for expressing sadness and pain in a permissible manner. Sadness does not negate the acceptance of Allah’s decree which is the very center of a believer’s journey in grief.
Narrated Anas bin Malik: We went with Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) (p.b.u.h) to the blacksmith Abu Saif, and he was the husband of the wet-nurse of Ibrahim (the son of the Prophet). Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) took Ibrahim and kissed him and smelled him and later we entered Abu Saif’s house and at that time Ibrahim was in his last breaths, and the eyes of Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) (p.b.u.h) started shedding tears. `Abdur Rahman bin `Auf said, “O Allah’s Apostle, even you are weeping!” He said, “O Ibn `Auf, this is mercy.” Then he wept more and said, “The eyes are shedding tears and the heart is grieved, and we will not say except what pleases our Lord, O Ibrahim ! Indeed we are grieved by your separation.” [Hadith; Sahih al-Bukhari 1303]
We see the intensity of these emotions in the Prophet Yaʿqub عليه السلام when he was separated from his son Yusuf عليه السلام and he grieved so deeply that his eyes turned white (it’s said that he lost his sight) due to the extent to which he cried. His intense grief is expressed in the Qur’an (after all those years of losing his son) yet he was called to have beautiful patience (sabrun jameel):
And he turned away from them and said, “Oh, my sorrow over Joseph,” and his eyes became white from grief, for he was a suppressor. [Quran; 12:84]
Accept that all of us belong to Allah and all of us will return to Him
As we see from the hadith above where the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was coping with grief, patience in Islam does not mean that we do not cry and that we do not express our emotions. What is forbidden is wailing and slapping one’s cheeks which was the culture at that time (the Arabs – women in particular – used to scream and wail during funerals or at someone’s death). As the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said the eyes shed tears and the heart is grieved but the tongue only says what is acceptable to Allah.
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “The example of a believer is that of a fresh tender plant; from whatever direction the wind comes, it bends it, but when the wind becomes quiet, it becomes straight again. Similarly, a believer is afflicted with calamities (but he remains patient till Allah removes his difficulties.) And an impious wicked person is like a pine tree which keeps hard and straight till Allah cuts (breaks) it down when He wishes.” [Hadith; Sahih al-Bukhari 5644]
Make dua for yourself
As human beings, we attempt to cope with negative emotions in different ways. We often attempt to push away difficult emotions because they make us feel uncomfortable as it’s a painful process to sit with these feelings. We may try to distract ourselves or put on a fake smile. Some may even self-medicate through the use of drugs or alcohol to alleviate the pain they are feeling. When we are unable to grieve fully and an experience becomes a source of trauma, we are thrust into survival mode, which shuts down the executive functioning part of our brain and prevents us from thinking clearly. This is why we may react to situations in unhealthy ways or do things during times of stress that we would not have done during times of ease. This is one reason why some people struggle to worship Allah during times of extreme stress. When the “danger activation center” part of our brain is dominant, there is a decrease in self-awareness, our capacity to self-evaluate, and our ability to establish goals. All of these require advanced thought processes, which are very difficult to sustain during times of extreme stress. In order for any activity to help, our brain needs to register it. Research has shown an association between prayer and the ability to re-engage the “thinking” part of our brains.
Umm Salama, the wife of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:If any servant (of Allah) who suffers a calamity says:” We belong to Allah and to Him shall we return; O Allah, reward me for my affliction and give me something better than it in exchange for it,” ‘ Allah will give him reward for affliction, and would give him something better than it in exchange. She (Umm Salama) said: When Abu Salama died. I uttered (these very words) as I was commanded (to do) by the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). So Allah gave me better in exchange than him. i. e. (I was taken as the wife of) the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). [Hadith; Sahih Muslim 918 b]
When I lost my baby son Hamza, I remember one of my close friends messaged me this dua and reminded me to keep reciting it. I had not really known that dua at that time but I am so grateful for friends who guided me to the right words to say at such a confusing and overwhelming time when I almost lost my faith as a revert.
Stay among people who love you and would support you through this difficult journey
It is quite common to be engulfed by grief with the death of a loved one. However, one must not dwell in it much heaven knows i did but i soon realised this sends an invitation to Shaytan to become your company. Let the death of a loved be a lesson of detaching from Dunya and to hold Allah (glorified and exalted be he) in your heart above all others.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) visited Sa’d bin ‘Ubadah during his illness. He was accompanied by ‘Abdur-Rahman bin ‘Auf, Sa’d bin Abu Waqqas and ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud (May Allah be pleased with them). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) began to weep. When his Companions saw this, their tears also started flowing. He (ﷺ) said, “Do you not hear, Allah does not punish for the shedding of tears or the grief of the heart, but punishes or bestows mercy for the utterances of this (and he pointed to his tongue).” [Hadith; Riyad as-Salihin 925]
Remember that your patience is being rewarded more than you can imagine
These are words you should say even when you feel sad at the memory of a loss you faced in the past or when you miss your loved one or the life you had planned with them.
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “Allah says, ‘I have nothing to give but Paradise as a reward to my believer slave, who, if I cause his dear friend (or relative) to die, remains patient (and hopes for Allah’s Reward). [Hadith; Sahih al-Bukhari 6424]
Stay away from questioning Qadr of Allah (asking: why me? or if only!)
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘A slave (of Allah) shall not believe until he believes in Al-Qadar, its good and its bad, such that he knows that what struck him would not have missed him, and that what missed him would not have struck him.” [Hadith; Tirmidhi 2144]
Often one of the ways, Shaitan attacks us at times of calamity or a loss is to overwhelm us with questions of what if and why me? How did this happen? Would it have been prevented if I had just done this or that or gone to the hospital earlier or taken this or that medical intervention?? I blamed myself for my sons death so much over the last year (he passed away 25/07/2020) but after reading the following in last few weeks I've become to realise there was nothing I could do to prevent it as it was Allah's will.
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, although both are good. Strive for that which will benefit you, seek the help of Allah, and do not feel helpless. If anything befalls you, do not say, “if only I had done such and such” rather say “Qaddara Allahu wa ma sha’a fa’ala (Allah has decreed and whatever he wills, He does).” For (saying) ‘If’ opens (the door) to the deeds of Satan.'” [Hadith; Ibn Majah 79]
These are some of the words my midwife told me to say when I heard the news of my baby passing away in my womb after 25weeks of pregnancy I am forever grateful to her for reminding me this at that trying time. Reminding ourselves we all have a path and a time to meet Allah and it is not the time be battling with the what if questions you are bombarded yourself with. I am grateful to Allah (swt) for giving me people in my life who were able to remind me of the right words to say and the right approach at such a difficult time. Remind yourself: whatever happened was decreed by Allah and nothing you or someone else did or did not do could have changed it. Focusing on the factors within your control, rather than on regrets and a desire to return to the less painful past, can help you to get through this stage.
But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not. [Quran; 2:216]
Turning back to our deen and our belief in Qadr is what helped us accept the death as something Allah had decreed at this exact time and this exact situation and there is nothing we could have done to have changed that. Changing the past is not feasible so channeling our energy into something unchangeable is a recipe for intense pain. Instead of “What if…” Focus on “What is…”: The one thing we consistently have within our control is what we choose to do with the present moment. Shifting our focus away from regrets of the past and worries about the future allows us to take advantage of the present moment. Allah (swt) talks about this attitude of remorse in the Quran:
O you who have believed, do not be like those who disbelieved and said about their brothers when they traveled through the land or went out to fight, “If they had been with us, they would not have died or have been killed,” so Allah makes that a regret within their hearts. And it is Allah who gives life and causes death, and Allah is Seeing of what you do. [Quran; 3:156]
Instead, turn to Allah and open your heart to Him
Death can serve as a reminder to those left behind about the temporariness of this life and the importance of working for our next lives. It forces us to reflect on what is meaningful and what is important. Turn to Allah and pour your heart out to Him, talk to Him about your pain, cry out to Him and ask Him to calm your heart and heal your pain. Ask Him to reunite you with your loved one in Jannah. Ask Him to give you strength and peace. When Prophet Yaqub (عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام) cried so much that he lost his eyesight after all those years of losing his son, his elder sons said:
They said, “By Allah , you will not cease remembering Joseph until you become fatally ill or become of those who perish.” He said, “I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah , and I know from Allah that which you do not know. O my sons, go and find out about Joseph and his brother and despair not of relief from Allah . Indeed, no one despairs of relief from Allah except the disbelieving people.” [Quran: 12:85-87]
Turn to Allah in sincere dua. No one else can heal your pain and give peace to your heart.
اللَّهُمَّ مُصَرِّفَ الْقُلُوبِ صَرِّفْ قُلُوبَنَا عَلَى طَاعَتِكَ
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: “Verily, the hearts of all the sons of Adam are between the two fingers out of the fingers of the Compassionate Lord as one heart. He turns that to any (direction) He likes. Then Allahs Messenger (ﷺ) said: 0 Allah, the Turner of the hearts, turn our hearts to Thine obedience.” [Hadith; Sahih Muslim 265]
Journal to face and deal with your emotions so you don’t become hopeless
Writing to process your feelings is another helpful technique to help deal with your emotions and your grief ive found this out this week from advice from a sister who lost her father recently. She said that Writing out your thoughts and confusions will help sort them out, journals about your feelings from day to day, use gratitude journalings to focus on the blessings even at such difficult times, write letters to your loved one as if you are talking to them. All of this helps deal with the emotions and grief just as talking or counselling does as well.
“And that to your Lord is the finality. And that it is He who makes laugh and weep.” [Quran; 53:42-43]
Find meaning / gratitude in your life again and create the required changes
Grief expert, David Kessler says, “meaning comes through finding a way to sustain your love for the person after their death while you’re moving forward with your life. Loss is simply what happens to you in life. Meaning is what you make happen.”
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said: “When a young daughter of the Messenger of Allah was dying, the Messenger of Allah picked her up and held her to his chest, then he put his hand on her, and she died in front of the Messenger of Allah. Umm Ayman wept and the Messenger of Allah said ‘Oh Umm Ayman, do you weep while the Messenger of Allah is with you?’ She said: ‘Why shouldn’t I weep when the Messenger of Allah is weeping.” So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said “Verily, I am not weeping. Rather it is compassion.’ Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘The believer is fine whatever the situation; even when his soul is being pulled from his body and he praises Allah, the Mighty and Sublime”‘ [Hadith; Sunan an-Nasa’i 1843]
Finding meaning cannot erase your grief; pain is a natural reaction to intense loss. However, it can help you move forward. The loss of someone or something dear to you can often lead to reevaluating your priorities in life. Allowing this loss to push you toward positive changes in your life is one of the most profound ways of creating meaning. Gratitude is one of the qualities of a believer. Gratitude is tied closely to the concept of patience. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: Strange are the ways of a believer for there is good in every affair of his and this is not the case with anyone else except in the case of a believer for if he has an occasion to feel delight, he thanks (God), thus there is a good for him in it, and if he gets into trouble and shows resignation (and endures it patiently), there is a good for him in it. [Hadith; Sahih Muslim 2999]
Gratitude is also an attitude during adversity. Although difficult to see, there are always blessings that accompany a difficult time. Look for the blessings and ease that Allah has brought with this difficulty. May be things were easier than they could have been, may be there were eases in other areas of your life, may be this test drew you closer to Allah (swt), may be it allowed you to reflect on the reality of your life and allowed you to give more in charity, may be it became a means of wiping away your sins and earning you reward.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “When a man’s child dies, Allah, the Exalted, asks His angels, ‘Have you taken out the life of the child of My slave?’ and they reply in the affirmative. He (SWT) then asks, ‘Have you taken the fruit of his heart?’ and they reply in the affirmative. Thereupon He asks, ‘What did my slave say?’ They say: ‘He praised You and said: Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un (We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return).’ Allah says: ‘Build a house for my slave in Jannah and name it Baitul-Hamd (the House of Praise).”‘ [Hadith; Riyad as-Salihin 922]
Know that sadness doesn’t last forever even if the memories do
“For indeed, with hardship ease. Indeed, with hardship ease.” [Quran; 94:6]
Remember this promise of Allah. Remember that every moment of sadness and pain, no matter how overwhelming, is a part of the process of healing. Instead of focusing on the stretch of days ahead of you with this loss feeling like a looming storm cloud over your future, focus on the one step you can take today to get through the day. When experiencing feelings of depression, putting one foot in front of the other can make a huge difference. Get adequate sleep and eat healthy. Your body and well-being are an amānah from Allah that you need to take care of. Find time to decompress, however that might work for you. For some people this may include praying, making dua, reading, art, working out, or engaging in a hobby.
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said: “I was with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and a man from among the Ansar came to him and greeted the Prophet (ﷺ) with Salam. Then he said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, which of the believers is best?’ He said: ‘He who has the best manners among them.’ He said: ‘Which of them is wisest?’ He said: ‘The one who remembers death the most and is best in preparing for it. Those are the wisest.’” [Hadith; Ibn Majah 160]
Go through happy memories you experienced with them and remember your loved one in good words
Narrated Abu Al-Aswad: I came to Medina when an epidemic had broken out. While I was sitting with `Umar bin Al-Khattab a funeral procession passed by and the people praised the deceased. `Umar said, “It has been affirmed to him.” And another funeral procession passed by and the people praised the deceased. `Umar said, “It has been affirmed to him.” A third (funeral procession) passed by and the people spoke badly of the deceased. He said, “It has been affirmed to him.” I (Abu Al-Aswad) asked, “O chief of the believers! What has been affirmed?” He replied, “I said the same as the Prophet (ﷺ) had said, that is: if four persons testify the piety of a Muslim, Allah will grant him Paradise.” We asked, “If three persons testify his piety?” He (the Prophet) replied, “Even three.” Then we asked, “If two?” He replied, “Even two.” [Hadith; Sahih al-Bukhari 1368]
Remembering the happy times you had with your deceased loved ones can be a bittersweet experience. Many will talk about how this can have a healing effect, others mention how it rekindles the pain in their heart. Sometimes different reactions may also depend on where you are on your grief journey. Remembering the good times you had with your loved one can help you in dealing with the grief and with slowly learning to remember them without always feeling the pain of separation. Reminding yourself that you still have hope of reuniting with them in the hereafter is another way to help you process the pain you are feeling.
It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “Something bad was said in the presence of the Prophet about a person who had died. He said: ‘Do not say anything but good about your dead.”‘ [Hadith; Sunan an-Nasa’i 1935]
Make dua for your loved one and give charity on their behalf
Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said: “A man will be raised in status in Paradise and will say: ‘Where did this come from?’ And it will be said: ‘From your son’s praying for forgiveness for you.'” [Hadith; Sunan Ibn Majah 3660]
Channel your grief in a productive way and think about what you can do for your loved one now. One of the ways we can benefit our deceased loved ones is by making sincere dua for them. We can also benefit our deceased loved ones by giving charity on their behalf.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased).” [Hadith; Riyad as-Salihin 1383]
Seek help and support others
Seek social support, go to counselling and therapy, talk to friends about how you feel. Attend a bereavement group if you can so you can see how others in your situation are coping. Check Children of Jannah or Eternal Gardens for bereavement support. One major indicator that someone needs professional help is if they demonstrate an impaired ability to function in their day-to-day life with their family, at work, socially, emotionally, and sometimes spiritually. Again, this doesn’t mean that the person is mentally ill, but that they would likely benefit from talking to someone with expertise in the field of mental health.
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim, so he should not oppress him, nor should he hand him over to an oppressor. Whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs; whoever brought his (Muslim) brother out of a discomfort, Allah will bring him out of the discomforts of the Day of Resurrection, and whoever screened a Muslim, Allah will screen him on the Day of Resurrection.” [Hadith; Sahih al-Bukhari 2442]
The aim of ta’ziyah is to strengthen the broken-hearted and give them hope at a time when their hope may be waning; it is to lighten the load of the bereaved. After the intense sadness of losing someone you care for deeply, you have the unique ability to empathize with the struggles others face in similar circumstances. Here are some things you can do for grieving families: Spend time with them without imposing yourself as a guest and expecting them to host you with food and drink. Offer to help by buying groceries, doing household chores, or watching their children.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Prepare food for the family of Ja’far for there came upon them an incident which has engaged them. [Hadith; Sunan Abi Dawud 3132]
Do what helps you through your journey of grief. Remember no two journeys are the same, so listen to your heart and give it what it needs. Sometimes you may need time to be alone, sometimes you may need to be around others you love. Sometimes you may need to talk about them, sometimes you may just need to sit quietly with your own thoughts. May Allah heal your pain, calm your heart and reunite you with your loved one in the hereafter.
I hope this helps who ever needs it see this right now...
Rest in peace my beautiful son Hamza until we meet again in jannah 🤲🤲

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatahu
A COMFORT REMINDER TO THOSE GOING THROUGH HARDSHIP SITUATION 📌📌📌
بسم اللّٰه الرحمن الرحيم
There will be days when you feel you cant carry on. Broken dreams and pain. But you have to carry on. Dont lose hope. Put your trust in الله
If you’re stressed, take a deep breath and release those cares to Allah. He can handle everything that concerns you.”
أَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِكَافٍ عَبْدَه؟
"Is not Allah sufficient for His servant?"
•[39:36]
When you feel like you’re constantly in the dark, know with full trust that Allah is preparing you for something filled with Light.
For those of you who are currently struggling with your hardships, always remember there are so many beautiful things to live for.
Sabr through the day while walking around with that suffocating feeling in your heart that makes you want to leave this dunya
For every pain that you feel in this world, there’s a reward for it in the next.
Trust Allaah when things don’t work out the way you want. Allaah has something better planned for you.
If Allaah wants it for you, it will be yours. Don't stress out so much.
يؤتكم خيرا مما أخذ منكم
He will give you something better than what was taken from you. #Quran 8:70
Sometimes we make duaa for a door of dunya. When it doesnt open, we cry. Not realizing that Allah has instead opened a door of jannah for us
When you feel frustrated with the way things are going in your life, — That's your faith being TESTED. Focus on the outcome, not the obstacles.
Different people get tested in different ways. Allaah is Just, He will only try you with what you can bear. If it's stopping you from getting closer to Allaah, then you need to let it go.
but I promise you there's always beauty in the struggle. Allaah ﷻ will never burden you beyond your ability, you’re strong enough to fight.
This pain in your heart was created to make you yearn less for this life and to yearn more for Jannah.
How sad is it to pray next to someone who you know is going through this world with a broken heart and seeing them stay in Sujood for a few extra moments, only because this is probably the only comfort they ever find themselves in anymore.
If you're ever feeling astray from Allaah, keep holding onto Him, never lose hope in Him, and call out to Him.
Reach out for help because sabr isn’t suffering in silence.
You must remind yourself that He is with you. He watches with love as you go about the rest of the day.
He knows there are things that are making your heart feel heavy. Stop despairing. He hasn’t left, He never does.
Call on your Lord when your heart is brittle, that is a time when it’s in pieces and the Light of Allaah can fill the gaps.
Do your part by getting help if you need it, by making dua to Him to ease your situation. He will do His part.
That is why Allaah is with the broken hearted
To all the aching souls right now:May Allaah (ﷻ) mends your hearts.
May gentler and warmer days come your way.
O' Allaah! Remove this hardship from our souls and revive it with joy and happiness from nothing but You.
O' Allaah! Lift our souls, relieve our burdens, and make us of those who put their trust in You for all their affairs.
Ameen Allahumma Ameen
Share it with your family and friends :)

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
I don’t know if you can help me, but I’m a person who loves reading romance and sometimes eroticism. It’s the only things that gives me instant pleasure, since I stopped a lot of others sins. I feel it’s like the only dark things in my life but it’s super difficult to get rid of.
I want to find something that can replaces that without being Haram and toxic for my faith.
Do you have any ideas ?
Jazak’Allahu khayran
Wa 'alaykum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
Alhumdulilah you have completed the first 2 steps of quitting a sin: 1. acknowledging the sin, and 2. wanting to abandon the sin.
I can understand such things can be quite addicting especially if you're unmarried and my advice may not be the best but I'll do my own best.
1. Be conscious of Allah. Know that Allah is watching you, the angels are recording your deeds. Whenever you come across romantic/erotic stories, seek refuge in Allah from shaytaan and from the evil within your own nafs and close that book. Distract yourself.
2. Allah is the Most Forgiving If you commit this act, seek forgiveness from Allah. No matter how many times you give in to your desires, always ask Allah for forgiveness, keep turning back to Him. Don't ever think that you are not worthy of His forgiveness, His mercy is beyond our understanding. Allah loves the sinners who constantly turn back to Him, alhumdulilah.
3. Keep making dua Talk to your Allah. Tell Him all of your emotions, burst out crying. Tell Him everything, every detail, and ask for His help.
4. Protect yourself from triggers If there is anything that triggers your desires, stay away from them. A show you watch or a social media account you follow, or whatever else, try to remove these triggers from your life.
Possible Replacements:
I'll start with the Quran. Whenever you have a desire to read the books you mentioned, do wudu and read the Quran instead. There is this beautiful dua that I would suggest you make often:
اللّهُمَّ إِنِّي عَبْدُكَ ابْنُ عَبْدِكَ ابْنُ أَمَتِكَ نَاصِيَتِي بِيَدِكَ، مَاضٍ فِيَّ حُكْمُكَ، عَدْلٌ فِيَّ قَضَاؤكَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِكُلِّ اسْمٍ هُوَ لَكَ سَمَّيْتَ بِهِ نَفْسَكَ أَوْ أَنْزَلْتَهُ فِي كِتَابِكَ، أَوْ عَلَّمْتَهُ أَحَداً مِنْ خَلْقِكَ أَوِ اسْتَأْثَرْتَ بِهِ فِي عِلْمِ الغَيْبِ عِنْدَكَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ القُرْآنَ رَبِيعَ قَلْبِي، وَنورَ صَدْرِي وجَلَاءَ حُزْنِي وذَهَابَ هَمِّي Allaahumma 'innee 'abduka, ibnu 'abdika, ibnu 'amatika, naasiyatee biyadika, maadhin fiyya hukmuka, 'adlun fiyya qadhaa'uka, 'as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa laka, sammayta bihi nafsaka, 'aw 'anzaltahu fee kitaabika, 'aw 'allamtahu 'ahadan min khalqika, 'awista'tharta bihi fee 'ilmil-ghaybi 'indaka, 'an taj'alal-Qur'aana rabee'a qalbee, wa noora sadree, wa jalaa'a huznee, wa thahaaba hammee
O Allah, I am Your slave and the son of Your male slave and the son of Your female slave. My forehead is in Your Hand (i.e. You have control over me). Your Judgment upon me is assured and Your Decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every Name that You have named Yourself with, revealed in Your Book, taught any one of Your creation or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen that is with You, to make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness and the reliever of my distress.
What can fill the hearts better than the remembrance of Allah? I know at times you really don't feel the pleasure, but once you make it a habit, the pleasure is bound to come.
Read a different genre
Play a video game
Start a new hobby
Meditation
If I'll be really honest, I don't think you can find something of this world as a replacement other than marriage. I may be wrong but it seems unlikely because the reason you gain pleasure from reading such things won't be satisfied with the other things. You can only use the other things as a distraction rather than replacement.
I would suggest to try to do more spiritual/religious actions in your life. Your closeness to Allah will bring you pleasure, being in touch with your soul will bring you pleasure and make you stronger against your desires. I don't know how your relationship with Allah is but add another good deed to your life - Tahajjud, Doha prayer, volunteering, add a form of dhikr (I suggest the MyDuaa app: you can favorite duas/dhikr in the app, the days I go through all the duas/dhikr I have favorited versus the days I don't are so different. Nothing special may happen in the day but your mood, your happiness level will be so different), whatever good deed is feasible for you.
If you can have something or someone to hold you accountable, that would be a good idea too. A way you can hold yourself accountable is that whenever you engage in this deed, follow it up with a deed for accountability. For example: you'll pray 2 rakaat after you engage in this deed (even shaytaan will tell you to stop reading if you do this and the next two I am stating lol (I used this tactic to control my personal struggle with wasawasa)), or you'll engage in istighfar 100 times, or you'll give in charity, or you can't eat your favorite food for a week, no tea/coffee the next day, whatever will push your buttons.
It's tough, I know it will be but just keep trying, never give up. Allah will aid you. I don't feel like I did justice to the question, I apologize.
I pray Allah relieves you of this and compensates you with better. If you're unmarried, I pray Allah grants you a good spouse. If you are married, I pray you find satisfaction with your spouse. May Allah make you strong against all the fitna of this dunya and make you among His righteous slaves. Allahumma ameen.

BASICS OF ISLAM: SUPPLICATION(DUA): PART 22
There is no rule stating that this or that supplication must be read after prayers. Everybody reads a supplication based on his own need. It is not appropriate to read the same supplication (say the same prayer) all the time. It is necessary to know consciously what one wants. It is not appropriate to pray without knowing what one wants. It is not appropriate to memorize certain things and to pray like reading a poem. Dua (supplication/prayer) should be made with an alert heart and silently; one should make dua in any occasion. When the Prophet (pbuh) performed a prayer, he would wipe his head with his right hand and say,
"In the name of Allah, except whom there is no deity. Only He is ar-Rahman (the All-Compassionate) and ar-Rahim (the All-Merciful). Remove sadness, grief and sorrow from me!" (Bukhari, Daawat, 35, 40)
"When you perform a fard prayer, say "Lailaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah. Lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu wa huwa ala kulli shay'in qadir (There is none worthy of worshipping but Allah alone, who has no partner. His is the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is able to do all things)" ten times. A person who says so is given thawabs as if he freed a slave." (Bukhari, Adhan, 155)
According to what is reported from Muadh radiyallahu anh, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) held his hand and said,
"O Muadh! By Allah, I really love you." Then, he said,
"O Muadh! I advise you to read the following supplication after every prayer: Allahumma ainni ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni ibadatik (O Allah! Help me with mentioning your name, thanking you and beautifying my worshipping you)." (Abu Dawud, Witr 26. See also Nasai, Sahw 60)
It is also possible to pray as follows:
Alhamdulillahi Rabbilalamin. Assalatu wassalamu ala Rasoolina Muhammadin wa ala alihi wa sahbihi ajmain. O Lord! Accept the prayers we performed! Make our end good! Enable us to utter kalima at-tawhid in the dying breath! Forgive and pardon our dead people! Allahummaghhfir warham wa anta khayrurrahimin. Tawaffani musliman wa alhiqni bissalihin. Allahummaghfir li wali walidayya wa lilmuminina wal muminat yawma yaqumul hisab. (O Allah! Forgive and have mercy and You are the best of the merciful. Make me die a Muslim and make me join the righteous! O Allah! Cover me, my parents, and believing men and women with Your forgiveness on the Day when the Reckoning will be established!) O Lord! Protect us from the evil of Satan, enemies and evil-commanding soul! Grant goodness, good sustenance to our household! Save the people of Islam. Damn and destroy the enemies of the religion! Help the Muslims who are fighting the unbelievers with Your divine assistance! "Allahumma innaka afuwwun karimun tuhibbulawfa fa’fu anni! (O Allah! You are the Forgiver and the Generous. You love to forgive; so, forgive me!)" O Lord! Give cure to the ill people and solutions to the people with problems! Allahumma inni asalukassihhata walafiyata wal-amanata wa husnalhulki warridaa bilqadari bi rahmatika ya arhamarrahimin. (O Allah! I ask health, welfare and trust and high ethics, consent to qadar and mercy from You! O the most Merciful of the Merciful!) Protect us from show off, hypocrisy, conflict, all kinds of diseases, accidents, misfortunes, laziness, weakness, humility, being oppressed, richness and poverty that will make us go astray, the evil of Satan and the soul, being defeated by the enemy, bad traits, going astray, insincere deeds, all kinds of sins, falling into unbelief, senility, tests at the time of death and the things that will harm our religion and worldly life! Enable us to have real belief, high ethics, a thanking heart, a tongue mentioning Allah, a good life showing consent to qadha and qadar, to eat, to sleep, to speak and to laugh a little, to serve Islam a lot, to be saved from penalty in the grave and the horror of the hereafter, to do deeds that will please You as long as we live, to die as a martyr and to have a belief and repentance in accordance with the creed of Ahl as-Sunnah at the time of death!

I always pray my 5x salah alhamdulilah but I don’t know if it’s whispers from shaytan or something else, but lately I just feel like not praying anymore. It’s like I’m loosing hope and faith, because Allah hasn’t answered my duas yet. I’m seeing people around me who are being blessed with the simple things that I want yet they don’t pray. I feel like I am being punishment my Allah and there’s a block on my life
Salamu Alaykum!
Try to remove or separate yourself from the things in your daily life that distance you from Allah. It could be bad friends, things that you watch, listen to, talk about, constantly going through Instagram looking at everyone’s “perfect” life etc. And remember that it’s human nature not be on a spiritual high all of the time - sometimes we ALL have to push ourselves. Just remember to keep praying no matter how you feel. Feelings (laziness, sadness, uninterested, ingratitude, anger, resentment etc) come and go. This is why we don’t worship our feelings, we keep doing what we know is good for us no matter how we “feel” about it at that moment. And insha Allah you will feel like praying again.
In terms of feeling like others are more blessed than you, that’s definitely not true. Others are not more blessed than you, but as humans we completely forget our own blessings. So my advice is to force yourself to write at least 3 things you’re grateful for everyday and why. Cliche and sounds too easy. But it works wonders if you’re consistent! Your mindset, heart set and soul set will completely change when you practice gratitude in your everyday life.
Of course make dua that He keeps you firm on the straight path as well! insha Allah that helps

Why I did what I did.
If you think that I left because I fell out of love with you, you’re wrong. If you think I left because of some fault in you, you are wrong.
When I told you that you were the love of my life , it was the truth and remains as such till today and always will. When I told you that you were the best friend I have ever had, it was the truth and remains as such till today and always will. When I told you you were my soulmate it was the truth and remains as such till today and always will. My immaturity may have led me to not honor those statements as well as I should have, but there was no lie in them. I did not say them except to express the reality of my heart to you.
So why did I leave? Because I realized that I had been living in a dream and I was brought back to reality. The reality was that you were beyond me and my reach and that is how fate had deemed it.
You were always the more mature one. You would always say it wouldn’t work out. I didn’t want to believe that. I couldn’t imagine being seperated from you. I would convince you it wasn’t true. And often I would succeed. But I think you eventually wore me out. It slowly started to dawn on me that you were right. It wouldn’t work.
That’s what lead to my initial insistence, on April 22, 2017, that we stop talking. I remember you had been upset for a while. I could sense that something was wrong. Eventually you told me you didn’t think your parents would ever agree. That’s when it hit me. We were never meant to be. Boy did we cry that day/night. But then we both agreed to still hold onto hope, and I did.
Then you sent me that email telling me that you couldn’t move. I remember you were so upset when I didn’t respond to you. I didn’t express this to you but what the email actually said was that I was not worth it. I was not worth you moving. It was no longer the case that it was us against the world. Now you were against me too. I guess I knew then that it was over. But I didn’t want to end it. That is why I didn’t respond. I should have always known you couldn’t move. You couldn’t leave your family. I used to think you would eventually be ok with it. You would move here and it would be sad for you initially but I would make sure you would visit often and that you were always happy. It was all just wishful thinking. I could never compete with the bond you had with your family. It didn’t matter how much we loved each other. Sometimes love isn’t enough. If I had never entered your life you wouldn’t have endured the pain I put you through. I know you wish that I hadn’t. I know you wish that you had never known me.
Eventually I decided to tell you I couldn’t move either. I wasn’t doing it for the same reason as you. My happiness was with you. That makes me a bad son, sure. But it’s true. I would have moved if I could. I would have left everything for you and at some point in time I intended to. At some point in time I thought that in the case that you weren’t able to move I would. I didn’t decide to stay because I didn’t want to move. I did because I couldn’t. It was during that year that I realized how much my parents needed me. The responsibility of taking care of them fell upon me. My parents were/are old. I couldn’t leave them to fend for themselves. I remember seeing my parents in their day to day lives struggling to perform simple tasks. Who would take care of them if I left? My sister would eventually get married and my brother didn’t care. It fell on my shoulders.
I realized that day that it was truly over. I wish we could have parted as friends. Then maybe today you wouldn’t hate me. Maybe we both wouldn’t have suffered alone. But I also realized that if we went down that route again, the route of parting as friends, then things would have turned out how they did in 2014, when we barely managed to lasted a week apart. Sure it wouldn’t have been that bad, but the point is You would never move on that way. And I don’t say that to flatter myself. It’s not that you wouldn’t have moved on from me because I am amazing. It’s because your love was pure. And it would have stopped you from moving on. It would also have meant that I would stay around just to watch you get married. I couldn’t take that. So there was no option of parting civilly, while wishing each other well. We loved each other too much for that.
I remember in 2014 I asked you what you thought of the idea of me being mean to you so you would stop liking me and move on. You said it was a stupid idea. Well I arrived at the conclusion that that stupid idea was the least painful way forward. You would eventually start hating me and move on. You have too much self respect. Remember, I asked you in 2017 if you hated me? You said you wish you did so it would be easier to move on. Well I decided to make that easier for you. At the time it seemed like the only option. I dont know if I was right or not. What I do know is that it worked. It took three years and a lot of pain but you’ve finally moved on and have a chance at happiness.
I remember one of the things you told me in May of 2017 was that you wouldn’t wait till you were older to get married. You would get married young. That devastated me. I didn’t show it. And I didn’t blame you for saying it. But when we officially parted after that horrid phone call on July 2nd (I hate that those were the last words I spoke to you, words that broke your heart. I will always hate myself for that). I deleted all my SM. I thought you would get married soon. You had so many proposals. Your parents always seemed to be talking about getting you married off. And you had said you would get married young. And I didn’t want to stick around to see it. One day I ‎‎saw that you had liked a video on YouTube with a title along the lines of “Finding love in an arranged marriage”. It was a Ted talk of sorts I believe. I assumed that meant things were moving for you.
Eventually I thought if that’s what you will do I might as well do it too. Actually the truth is I was afraid of the pain. I didn’t want it. I thought if I got married it would help me with the pain (maybe not the best reason to get married). So I found someone and got married. I didn’t want you to know. I only hurt you the way I did by leaving because I felt it was necessary. There was no way out without pain and it was the path of the least pain. I never went out of my way to hurt you Mariya. And it killed me to hurt you. I have to say that wasn’t necessarily the case the other way around. You went out of your way to hurt me, and it really hurt. When you put up those statuses on WhatsApp about that guy you were in love with, and what men are really like, it hurt a lot. So mission achomplished there homie, well done. I don’t blame you. I understand you were hurting and feeling betrayed. So you wanted to hurt me. Pain accepted Mariya. If it’s from you, it doesn’t matter what it is, it is always accepted. I know you have suffered Mariya. But you are not the only one who has. Atleast for you the pain has now stopped.
I had removed my SM and so I thought you wouldn’t find out that I was getting married. I didn’t want you to. I didn’t want you to go through more pain. But you found out anyway. I can’t imagine what you went through. Maybe it was something like what I’m going through now. I’m sorry you found out.
I didn’t stop loving you. I couldn’t. I can’t. My wife is a great person. She left her family and country to be with me. She puts up with me. But I never stopped loving you. You are the love of my life. You pierced a place in my heart so deep that no one has or will ever reach it. It belongs only to you even if you do not care for it anymore. It always will.
When you sent that email to me in the Ramadan of 2018 I was missing you so much. But by then the process of my marriage had begun so I didn’t respond with words of hope. I didn’t respond at all. But I did everything I could. You probably thought I didn’t respond because I didn’t care. Here you had put your self respect aside to reach out to me in this time of need and I didn’t respond. But it’s not true that I didn’t care. I prayed extra nawafil almost every night specifically for your family and made dua. I hope things are well between your parents. I know your happiness is contingent on it. Even now, everyday when I pray for you, I pray for your parents and your family. Because I know, if they are happy and healthy you will be happy.
My plan was cruel I know, and some of the things that happened weren’t planned. But it worked. You moved on. You’re married now. You no longer love me. You have your family with you. You have everything you wanted. As for me, I will never move on. I will never stop loving you. You are the love of my life. I lost you. I’m empty inside. All I have left are memories of a happier blissful time and a dream of what could have been.

AAMAL OF THE 21ST NIGHT OF RAMADHAN
The twenty-first night of Ramadan is more meritorious that the nineteenth. It is worthwhile to practice the previously mentioned general rites of the Qadr Nights, such as bathing, spending the whole nights with acts of worship, visiting the tomb of Imam al-Husayn (a.s.), offering the two unit prayer at which Surah al-Faatehah is recited once and Surah al-Tawheed repeated seven times, putting a copy of the Holy Qur’an on the head and saying the supplication dedicated to this practice, saying the Dua al-Jawshan al-Kabir supplicatory prayer, and so on. According to narrations, it is strongly advisable to do the bathing and to spend the whole night with painstaking acts of worship at this night as well as the twenty-third, since the real Qadr Night is one of these two nights.
When the Holy Infallibles (a.s.) were asked to specify the Qadr Night, they did not specify; rather they used to say, “It is too easy to act at two nights in order to win one’s desire.” They also used to say, “What will harm you if you do righteously at two nights?”
Dictating to his students, Shaykh al-Saduq said in one of his sessions, “It is preferable to spend these two nights with studying the religious knowledge.”
Starting with this night, it is recommended to say the supplicatory prayers that are dedicated to the last ten nights of Ramadan.
(6) Al-Kaf’ami has quoted Sayyid Ibn Baqi as saying that it is recommended to say the following supplicatory prayer at the twenty-first night of Ramadan:
It has been narrated that Ali ibn Hammad visited Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq(a.s.) at the twenty-first night of Ramadan. “Have you bathed yourself, Hammad?” asked the Imam. “Yes, I have,” answered Hammad. The Imam (a.s.) then asked him to stand by him so as to imitate him in offering prayers. Hammad did. When they finished all the prayers, the Imam (a.s.) began to supplicate and Hammad listened and prayed for response. When dawn (fajr) rose, the Imam (a.s.) declared the adhan (call to prayer), uttered the iqamah (the prefatory part of prayers), and then summoned one of his servants to participate in the prayer. They all stood behind the Imam (a.s.) who led their congregational Fajr (dawn (fajr)) Prayer reciting Surahs al-Faatehah and al-Qadr in the first unit and Surahs al-Faatehah and al-Tawheed in the second. When he finished the post-prayer litanies and doxologies, praising Him, venerating Him, thanking Him, invoking His blessings upon the Holy Prophet and his Household, and praying Him for the good of all the believing men and women as well as all the Muslims, Imam al-Sadiq(a.s.) prostrated himself. The companions could not hear anything except the Imam’s breaths for a long time. Hammad narrated: I could then hear him saying the following:
لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوْبِ وَ الْاَبْصَارِ۔۔۔۔
This long supplicatory prayer has been mentioned by Sayyid Ibn Tawus in his book of Iqbal al-A’mal.
Al-Kulayni has narrated that Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (a.s.) used to supplicate Almighty Allah at the twenty-first and twenty-third nights of Ramadan up to midnight. After that, he would offer prayers.
As for the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.), it has been narrated that he used to bathe himself at each of the last ten nights of Ramadan.
Being the best time of I’tikaf (the ritual seclusion in places of worship for practicing acts of worship), it is highly recommended to practice the ritual I’tikaf at the last ten nights of Ramadan, for this deed brings about an abundant reward. According to narrations, its reward is as same as the reward of two times of Hajj and two times of ‘Umrah. In this regard, it is reported that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.), at the last ten nights of Ramadan, used to confine himself to the mosque where a dome made of camel hair would be erected for him while he would roll up his bed and prepare himself for worship.
It is worth mentioning that at the twenty-first night of Ramadan, the sadnesses of the Shi’ah should be shown. At the twenty-first night of Ramadan, AH 40, Imam Ali ibn Abi-Talib, Ameer al-Momineen - peace be upon him - departed life as martyr. It is narrated that fresh blood would be found under any rock that was lifted at that night. The same thing happened at the night of Imam al-Husayn’s martyrdom.
Shaykh al-Mufid says: At this night, it is highly recommended, as frequently as possible, to invoke Almighty Allah’s blessings upon the Holy Prophet and his Household and to invoke His curse upon those who have wronged the Ahl al-Bayt and upon the killer of Imam AliAmeer al-Momineen.

O Allah, (please) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad and decide for me forbearance that blocks the door to ignorance against me, guidance that You confer upon me against any item of straying off, affluence that blocks the door to all poverty against me, power due to which You repel any weakness from me, might with which You honor me against all humiliation, sublimity through which You exalt me against all humbleness, security through which You protect me against any fear, wellbeing by which You cover me against any ailment, knowledge due to which You open before me all certitude, certitude due to which You remove from me any doubt, prayer through which You expand Your response to me at this very night and at this very hour, this very hour, this very hour, this very hour, O All-generous, apprehension due to which You spread over me all items of mercy, and shelter due to which You intervene between my sins and me, so that I shall succeed in the view of the Infallible ones with You, in the name of Your mercy, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy.
It has been narrated that Ali ibn Hammad visited Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (a.s.) at the twenty-first night of Ramadan. When dawn rose, the Imam (a.s.) declared the adhan (call to prayer), uttered the iqamah (the prefatory part of prayers), and then summoned one of his servants to participate in the prayer. They all stood behind the Imam (a.s.) who led their congregational Fajr (dawn) Prayer reciting Surahs al-Faatehah and al-Qadr in the first unit and Surahs al-Faatehah and al-Tawheed in the second. When he finished the post-prayer litanies and doxologies (zikr), praising Him, venerating Him, thanking Him, invoking His blessings upon the Holy Prophet and his Household, and praying Him for the good of all the believing men and women as well as all the Muslims, Imam al-Sadiq (a.s.) prostrated himself. The companions could not hear anything except the Imam’s breaths for a long time. Hammad narrated: I could then hear him saying the following:
There is no god save You, the Transformer of hearts and sights...
Shaykh al-Mufid says: At this night, it is highly recommended, as frequently as possible, to invoke Almighty Allah’s blessings upon the Holy Prophet and his Household and to invoke His curse upon those who have wronged the Ahl al-Bayt and upon the killer of Imam Ali Ameer al-Momineen.

Salam, I'm a girl in my early 20s. For about a month my faith have just been going down and down. I've been a good girl and followed the rules all along. But I'm coming at my ends with it all. I am kinda lonely lately, and I'm so tempted to do the wrong stuff. I live alone as well. Please help me.
Walaikum Assalaam
Our eman is not constant. So when we have stronger connection with Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala, it’s easier for us to fight with the desires and whispers of shaitan but when we have weak connection, it become difficult to fight. Strive to get closer to Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala and ask Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala to give us sincerity in our worship and make us fall in love with him and don’t get us attach to this worldly life.
“Truly in the heart there is a void that can not be removed except with the company of Allah. And in it there is a sadness that can not be removed except with the happiness of knowing Allah and being true to Him. And in it there is an emptiness that can not be filled except with love for Him and by turning to Him and always remembering Him. And if a person were given all of the world and what is in it, it would not fill this emptiness”
(Ibn Qayyim Al Jawziyyah)
Here are some tips to get closer to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala that will help you in shaa Allah.
1.If we want to get closer to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, we have to fulfill our obligatory duties and follows the command of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala and his messenger (peace be upon him) wholeheartedly.
2.Being God conscious, always keep in mind that whatever we do, we have to be accountable to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala and He’s watching us all the time.
3.Whenever we do a good work, always make the intention that you are doing this to please Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala.
4.Be thankful to Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala in every situation and be happy with the Allah decree.
5.Try to do dhikr all the time, it will make us closer to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala.
Following are some dhikr that we can do all the time:
1. Asthaghfirullah
2. Subhaanallah
3. Alhamdulillah
4. Allahu Akbar
5. Laa ilaaha illallah
6. LA HAWLA WA LA QUWWATA ILLA BILLAH-HIL ALIYYIL ADHEEM
7. Asthaghfirullah-halladhee Laa ilaaha illa-huwal Hayyul Qayyuumu Wa athoobu Ilay
OrAsthaghfirullah
8. SUB-HAAN’ALLAAHi WA BI-HAM’DIHI SUB-HAAN’ALLAH-IL ADHEEM
OrSUB-HAAN’ALLAAHi WA BI-HAM’DIHI
9. Subhāna-llāhi, wa-l-hamdu li-llāhi, wa lā ilāha illā-llāhu, wa-llāhu akbar. Wa lā hawla wa lā quwwata illā bi-llāhi-l-aliyyi-l-azīm
10. Lā ilāha illā-llāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu lahu-l-mulku wa lahu-l-ḥamdu yuhyi wa yumītu wa huwa ḥayyu-llā yamūtu abadan abada, ḏū-l-jalāli wa-l-ikrām, biyadihi-l-khayr, wa huwa alā kulli Shay-in qadīr
Or
Laa ilaaha illal-laahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa huwa ‘alaa kulli shay-in qadeer
We should also recite much of durood e Ibrahim which is the durood that is recited towards the end of Salaah.
Or the shortest durood is: Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallim
6. Dua and Repentence:
Almighty Allah says in the Qur’an: "When my servants ask you concerning me, (tell them) I am indeed close (to them). I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calls on me.“ [2:186]
The place of Dua is so high in front of Allah, that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallim) has said: ”Nothing is more honourable to Allah the Most High than Dua.”[Sahih al-Jami` no.5268].
Allah loves repentance & loves those who turn to him in sincere repentance:
Truly Allah loves those who turn [to Him] in repentance… (Qur’an 2:222)
Narrated ‘Ubaadah that the Messenger of Allah said, “Whoever seeks forgiveness for the believing men and believing women, Allah will write for him a good deed for EACH believing man and believing woman.” (Tabarrani)
Subhanallah this deed can be done in EVERY dua and can you imagine how many rewards can be gained for each and every Muslim you make dua for from Adam alayhis ‘salam until now and the last Muslim on earth. This is the easiest way to earn rewards that go into the billions and the more you make these dua’s then the more your good deed account will get filled!
7. Have friends that make you close to Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala, not those whose company make you forget Allah.
8. Turn to Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala for every little problem and ask for his help.
Listen to Islamic lectures, fix your prayers and try to do dhikr it will help in shaa Allah. I hope it will be helpful. May Allah guide us to the straight path.
Ameen
