“attention, freeloaders! daddy has an evening announcement to make.”
“never call yourself that,” megumi deadpans, already highly unamused by this meeting.
“anyway,” gojo begins, clasping his hands as he paces in front of the tv. “tonight is the night. you two know the drill.”
“yeah, we know the rules,” megumi interrupts again, throwing his head back against the couch. “can you move? the documentary is starting soon.”
tsumiki nudges his shoulder. “stop interrupting. it’ll be over faster if we just let him talk.”
“thank you, favourite child!” gojo smiles, stepping forward to press a kiss atop her head as her brother rolls his eyes. “as i was saying, tonight is our anniversary. so you will not call, text, email, fax, or even send nue with a letter. if you’re bleeding, call shoko. if you get arrested, call ijichi.”
“satoru?” you ask, stepping into the room. “are you ready to go? the car’s here.”
he takes a step back to look at you, pressing a hand to his chest as he breathes, “wow.”
“right?” you laugh, quickly glancing down at your dress. “i am gonna rock your world tonight, babe.”
“oh yeah? we should just kick these kids out and head to straight to bed then.” he’s in front of you in an instant, gently cupping the side of your neck to pull you in for a sloppy, heated kiss. one that he’s all too quick to deepen. his other hand drifting down the length of your back to grab your—
“gross,” megumi scoffs, prompting you to pull apart. “can you guys act like parents for once?”
“sorry,” you giggle, turning to face the kids as satoru rests his chin on your shoulder, sticking his tongue out at the teen. “i ordered food for you both already and it should be here in a few minutes, alright? call us if you need anything—”
“uh uh,” gojo cuts in, already pulling you towards the door. “don’t call us.”
“my phone is—”
“not going to be on!” gojo fills in, kneeling down to help you slip on your heels.
“we’ll be fine,” tsumiki assures you both. “go. have fun!”
“thank you, honey,” you smile, pulling her into a hug as gojo grabs your purse. “nanami will be here around 10 to stay the night with you guys. the guest bedroom is all set up.”
“so if you need anything, bug him. because we will be very busy.” gojo quips, lacing his fingers through yours. “c’mon, let’s get out of here. be good, you two!”
“goodnight!” you add, using your free hand to blow them two quick kisses before you’re pulled out the door.
_____
“okay babe, you know the deal,” gojo begins with the utmost seriousness as soon as you step into the hotel room, yanking at the knot of his tie. “first order of business is sex. loud, adult, no kids in the next room sex!”
“you’ve been waiting for this for a while, haven’t you?” you ask, though you’re already undoing the buttons of his shirt.
in exchange, his hands find the zipper of your dress, slowly dragging it down.
“oh, you have no idea,” he groans as you trail gentle kisses up his jaw. “we can’t get away with anything in that house.”
“we should make the most of this then.”
“oh, i intend to.”
_____
the two of you lay sunken into the mess of pillows and blankets on the bed, wholly satiated and tangled up in each other in the afterglow.
gojo’s tracing soft, nonsensical pattern across your back as he whispers to you in the dark. “hey, so i’ve been thinking…”
“uh oh.”
he pinches the tip of your nose. “i have good ideas from time to time.”
“alright,” you acquiesce with a roll of your eyes. “let’s hear it then.”
“remember way back then? when the kids were little and cute and didn’t talk back to us?”
“didn’t talk back to me, you mean?”
“whatever,” he laughs. “but you remember, right?”
“of course i do. god, megumi was so cute. and tsumiki! she always wanted her hair in pigtails. it was adorable.”
“right? wouldn’t it be great to have all that cuteness, but condensed into a tiny little baby?”
“you want to have a baby?” you echo, seeming genuinely surprised as you gaze up at him.
“yeah,” he shrugs, feeling his cheeks warm at the admission. “only if you want to.”
“you know babies are a lot more work than kids who have pretty much been self-sufficient since birth, right? we’d have to take time off work and—”
“i know.”
“we’ll have to go through potty training.”
“and we’ll do a much better job than toji. megumi wet the bed until he was seven.”
you slap his shoulder, reminding him that you both promised you’d never talk about that again.
“look we’ll— we’ll raise our kid right,” he assures you. “we had two free trials, and they turned out pretty great.”
“okay,” you breathe, because it’s true. the two of you raise great kids. “okay. before we do this, you need to promise me something right now.”
“anything,” he swears, pressing his lips to each of your knuckles.
“promise me nothing will happen to you,” you whisper, an edge of desperation behind your words. “because i can’t do any of this without you.”
his kiss is a promise in itself. it’s slow and sweet and you contentedly let yourself melt into it. “you don’t have to worry about any of that. you couldn’t get rid of me even if you tried.”

i’ve been craving summer a whole lot lately so i’d love to see what a summer day with tasm!peter would look like if you’re up for it!!
Thanks for requesting my love!
tasm!Peter Parker x fem!reader ♡ 705 words
You come home expecting relief, sweaty and smelly and exhausted, but there is none. The apartment you share with Peter is as stifling as it was outside.
You go straight to the fridge. Maybe there’s some water you can pour over yourself or frozen peas you can shove under your boobs or something. As soon as you pad into the kitchen, Peter’s head pokes through the window to the fire escape.
“Hey,” he says, sounding about as peppy as you feel. “The A/C’s broken.”
“I can tell,” you sigh. “Have you texted the landlord?”
“Texted, called, faxed—he’s definitely ignoring me. I went to his unit, and I’m not sure if he’s out or just hiding, but if he doesn’t respond by tonight I’m going in through his window.” Peter lets his head loll against the window frame, face flushed as he looks up at you. He makes a very pretty puddle. “Kiss?”
You smile ruefully. “It’s too hot for kissing.”
He huffs a laugh. “Fair enough. There’s popsicles in the freezer, wanna grab a couple and join me out here?”
You open the freezer, and your heart inflates like one of those lifejackets they keep on airplanes. Peter—brilliant, considerate, genius Peter—has invested in a giant bag of tube popsicles. You grab a red one for him and a green one for yourself and climb out onto the fire escape.
“You’re so smart for these,” you say. He grins as you pass him one, taking scissors from the windowsill to cut the top off of yours before doing his own. Your calf rubs slickly against his as you slot your legs in between his own. You don’t mind as much as you should. “Why’re you out here?”
“The alley gets a breeze,” he explains, closing his eyes and tilting his head back slightly, the encapsulation of a golden retriever in boy form. A whisper of wind catches in his fluffy hair, just barely ruffling it, but Peter grins like it’s the most satisfying thing in the world. “Feel?”
“Gimme a sec.” You take the plastic covering of your popsicle between your teeth, freeing your hands to pull the hair off your neck and securing it with a ponytail. The sweat-slicked skin of your nape feels blissfully cool in the air, and your eyes slip closed too as you pull the popsicle from your lips. “Oh, yeah,” you sigh, “I feel it.”
Peter’s silent, and when you open your eyes he’s giving you a look. Eyebrows raised just slightly, one corner of his mouth tilted up.
“If you still think it’s too hot to kiss,” he says, “you’re going to have to stop being so hot.”
You scoff. “Peter,” you say, like come on. “I was just putting my hair up.”
“And you know what that does to me.” He takes a bite of his popsicle, crunching pointedly.
“It’s hot,” you complain.
“It really is,” he replies, with a grin that has you rolling your eyes.
“I mean that I’m—that my neck is hot.”
“Again, so true.”
“Stop it.” You narrow your eyes seriously, pressing your lips together hard to keep them from quirking. “There’s nothing sexy about how miserable it is out here.”
Peter hums noncommittally, raising one shoulder in a half-shrug before he leans forward to hook his hands under your sweaty knees. You laugh as he hauls you toward him, his knees caging your ribs. He purses his lips, and you succumb yourself to your fate, and then cool air kisses your skin.
You open your eyes. “What are you doing?”
“I think it’s pretty obvious,” he says, continuing to blow on your face. “Is it helping?”
You take a second, letting yourself get used to the feeling of his air soothing over your damp brow. “Actually, yeah.”
Your boyfriend grins, still puffing out air as best he can through his smile. It brings his sun-kissed cheeks up towards his eyes and makes his lashes kiss.
You let yourself kiss him right there beside his eye, a token of your appreciation, but that’s not good enough for Peter. He taps your cheek, nudging you towards his lips, until you oblige him.
“You’re my hero,” you tell him lightly.
“Yeah, yeah, get in line.”

“Stop Internet Censorship” Master List
The following is a master list for all of the major Internet Censorship and Surveillance Bills between 2022 to 2023, with the most major bills that are currently active posted below. They will each link to the Tumblr posts that I have made in the past related to them, with all of the relevant information associated.
This was made because I feel people need to get a sense for just how interconnected they really are, how much Congress and third parties are trying to desperately gain full control and access to our information and silencing anything they don’t want to see and hear, and having a centralized hub of information for them will make it easier for people to find them.
The Major Bills:
EARN IT Act: 2022 version of EARN IT Act
2023 version of EARN IT Act (No text yet, but it’s pretending to be about preventing child abuse online this time)
Enigma2Me Post on EARN IT Act
     fullhalalalchemist Post on EARN IT
Condemnation of the EARN IT Act 2020 Coalition Letter
     STOP EARN IT Act LINKTREE
Engadget: EARN IT Act reintroduced for the Third Time
------
Kids Online Safety Act: Current Draft of 2023 KOSA bill
Enigma2Me Post on Kids Online Safety Act
     STOP KOSA LinkTree
------
RESTRICT Act: Read Bill Here.
       Enigma2Me Post On RESTRICT Act
      LoganGalbraith’s Post on RESTRICT Act
Truthout Article 4/02/2023: Restrict Act Critics Call the Far-Reaching “TikTok Ban” Bill a “Patriot Act 2.0”
------
STOP CSAM Act:
Electronic Frontier Foundation: Take Action on STOP CSAM/EARN IT
TechDirt Post Against STOP CSAM Act
------
So if you’ve seen the above, you’re probably asking: What can we do about it?
1) Spread the Word online!
Twitter Hashtags
For Earn It: #EARNITAct, #STOPTheEARNITAct, #NoEarnItAct
For KOSA: #KOSA, #KidsOnlineSafetyAct, STOPKOSA
For RESTRICTAct: #RESTRICTAct, #STOPRESTRICTAct
2) PLEASE call your Senators.
Find your 2 senators numbers here. Fax them, email them. Tell them they MUST oppose this bill. Calmly make it clear to them that if they support this bill, then you will vote for someone else who doesn’t go along with this blatant act of authoritarian intent.
3) CONTACT any major human rights and cybersecurity related organizations and let them know about this bill. Get this out to any local news groups that you can.
The following Google Doc contains a list of every major organization we could think of to contact, and will be updated as we find more allies in the fight against censorship and surveillance.
ANTI-CENSORSHIP MASTER LIST
Also Contact the organizations on these 2020 letters to get them to publicly speak out against the EARN IT Act like they did back then.
But for those who want to have official organizations to work with (and who usually have petitions except TechDirt), the following usually are up to date on info:
Electronic Frontier Foundation
Fight For the Future
Techdirt

Hi! English is my second language, so if it's not too much to ask can you please explain to an unknowledgeable foreigner what "gnu" in "gnu terry prattchet" stands for?
Gladly! And don't feel too bad, this is less a language barrier thing and more a fandom-specific thing.
So in Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels, there's this thing called the Clacks, which is a network of towers that relay messages by manipulating a series of wooden slats (which make a "clack" sound when they're moved, hence the name). It's kind of the comedic fantasy equivalent of telegraph/fax/e-mail/texting. In Going Postal, we get the story of John Dearheart, a Clacks operator who fell from his tower and died. Afterwards, operators started sending his name through the system prefixed by the letters "GNU," which respectively are operator code for "pass this message to the next tower," "do not log this message," and "when this message reaches the end of the line, return it." This is how they keep his memory alive, by ensuring his name will always be moving through the system and never be forgotten.
See, one of the recurring themes in Pratchett's writing is that a person lives on after their body expires, but not necessarily in an "immortal soul" sense--more in the echos of the things they did and left behind. A clock that you wound up, a field you plowed and sowed, the people you loved. As long as your name is spoken, as long as something you'd put your hand to is a part of the world, you're never truly dead.
So that's what "GNU Terry Pratchett" means. It's an inside way of saying "RIP" but also a reminder that Sir Terry lives on in his books and those who read them.

Saw video today of a young boy in Gaza, no older than early teens, sobbing as he prayed with his community over the bodies of his entire family who had been slaughtered by Israel. His entire family.
As we watch the most gut-wrenching scenes, the most horror filled images filling our screens every second of every day, I know I personally feel helpless and devastated and lost on what to do. We may not feel as though we have much power in these moments, but there are things we can do to make our voices heard and to help as much as we can. Here are some important ways you can help the people of Gaza:
purchase e-sims and send them to this email, where they are distributing the e-sims for free to people in Gaza. This ensures that they can stay connected, both to the world at large but, more importantly, to their families and communities. As Israel continues to cut off all internet in Gaza, this is crucial. This account on tw*tter has more information about their efforts to distribute the e-sims.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Share what is happening wherever you have a platform and, most importantly. Speak out what is happening with the people in your real life community. For 75 years Israel has convinced the world that the situation is "complex" and have managed to dissuade "normal" everyday people from speaking out on the atrocities they have been ceaselessly carrying out. Don't let them undermine your intelligence and don't let them try to convince you that what you are seeing isn't actually a genocide. Share posts from Palestinians and Gazans and be vocal about your support for a ceasefire and a free Palestine.
Boycott!! BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) has released a list of companies to boycott who are profitting from or contributing too the genocide in Gaza. There are, unfortunately, so many companies that profit and contribute to Israel, but BDS has put together a list of targeted companies to ensure we can narrow our focus and make maximum impact. The most commonly known right now are McDonald's, Starbucks, and Dominoes, but this link has more information and a list with different categories for us to be aware and use our most powerful tool, our money, to make an impact.
Read!! There are dozens of book lists out there now that contain different kinds of writings for every kind of person. Novels that tell the stories of the Palestinian people through fiction-style writing. Academic texts. Historical non-fiction works that tell the history of the occupation. Find something that will be of benefit to you and READ. An informed populace is a powerful populace.
Protest! Find a protest in your area and GO! Not only does this help to show the world and our governments what it is the people stand for, with more people attending sending a stronger message, it will also help you find community and support with people who understand the devastation we feel.
Reach out to your elected officials!! Call, email, fax, or even write letters! This is a huge way that we as individuals can change the policy positions of our elected officials. The more people who tell them "this issue matters and will effect my voting decisions in the future", the more likely they will be to change their position. And even if it feels like you're just yelling at the wall, it will feel good to say what you feel and what you believe to someone that you KNOW has the power to change things. It won't be automatic, and can be disheartening, but it is important.
I'm sure there are even more ways to help, and please share them below if you have any! Keep your head up and keep going. Don't look away. The people of Gaza have asked us to bear witness to the atrocities being carried out against them, to speak out for them as they lose their voices, and to pray for them and hope for them. Don't abandon them, and don't abandon hope. Hope is the strongest force we have in times of such darkness. Together, we can and we will see a free Palestine.

Office Gossip
@giolovestameimpala requested david meeting angel’s friends so i thought i’d actually write that idea i had a couple weeks ago. thank u so much for the request!! hope u enjoy <3
—————————————————————————————
“Hey…Hey Anna. Pssssst Anna.”
“No talking. I’m working.”
Angel rolled their eyes and kept poking their office cubicle neighbour, “But it’s reaaaaally important.”
Tom, who shared a cubicle wall with the two, popped his head up, “I wanna hear the really important thing!”
“Ughhh what is it?” Anna grumbled.
“I met someone yesterday.” Angel whispered.
“Like, met someone met someone? Like someone cute?” Tom beamed, he was always wanting to hear about Angel’s love life, or them bemoaning their current lack thereof.
“Someone very cute. But he’s also very grumpy.” They replied.
“Well you love grumpy people! That’s why you and Anna get on so well!” Tom laughed.
“Watch it.” She warned, “So tell us more about him. How did you guys meet?”
“Well it’s kinda a funny story. I went to that coffee shop down the street from the office and he was in there and he said I was stalking him and to leave him alone but I thought he was cute so-“
“Hold on.” Anna interrupted in shock, “He accused you of stalking him?”
“Yes.”
“Had you actually been stalking him?” Tom asked, confused.
“No of course not!”
“So he accused you of stalking him and you didn’t call him weird and walk away?” Anna asked sharply.
“Anna you don’t understand. He’s gorgeous. Like dream guy. He’s all angry and brooding and tall and ripped and-“
“So… A gorgeous man who’s exactly your type just so happened to accuse you of stalking him for no reason and you spun that into a date with him?” Tom questioned.
“Exactly”
Anna and Tom exchanged a look.
“I’m not buying it.”
—————————————————————————————
“Second date went well!” Angel chirped, walking into the lunch room.
“Ohhh your second date with your totally made up man?” Tom replied through a bite of his sandwich.
Anna took a sip of her coffee, “Where did you go? Narnia?”
They exchanged a laugh while Angel rolled their eyes.
“Anyways, did you hear about that guy from HR cheating on his wife?”
——————————————————————————————
“Who do you think is most likely to have sex in the office?”
Angel choked on their coffee and looked up to see their favourite coworker peering over their shared cubicle wall.
“Tom, I thought we agreed to actually get some work done today.”
“Are you actually doing any work?”
Angel closed the half finished game of solitaire on their computer.
“It’s gotta be Anthony.” Anna piped up. “Him and his new guy already do way too much PDA when he comes to visit.”
Tom leant on the cubicle wall and laughed, “A very valid answer, but stay with me here: Carol.”
Angel held back a snort, “Carol! She’s like 70!”
“She is very spry for her age, and she looks like she really knows her way around a fax machine if you know what I mean.”
Angel shushed him and Anna smacked him with a file.
“Hey you never know, maybe I’ll be the first to have sex in the office.” Angel smirked.
“Oooooo are you and imaginary man getting serious?” Tom teased.
“He asked to make it official over the weekend.”
“Finally! You have been seeing each other in your head for months.”
“We wanted to take it slow!”
“Very cute. Very romantic of you.” Anna remarked dryly.
Angel’s phone lit up with a text message. “Actually he’s here to pick me up for lunch.” They smirked before texting David to come upstairs and meet them in the office.
Tom and Anna shared a suspicious glance. “Did you seriously hire an actor to keep this lie going?”
The office door opened. David looked around the room before his eyes locked on Angel. They waved him over with a huge smile, revelling in the shock on their friends faces. David made his way over to them, well over six feet tall and in a leather jacket covering his impressive physique, he stood right out against the mundanity of paperwork and beige desks.
“You ready to go angel?” He muttered, keeping his voice low to not disrupt the people working around him. It didn’t work, everyone was already staring and whispering to each other.
“See you guys after lunch!” Angel exclaimed with a wink, clearly rubbing their victory in their friends faces. To nail their point home, they grabbed David’s hand and led him out of the office.
Anna and Tom were silent until the rest of the office returned to its usual background noise of keyboard clicking.
“What the fuck just happened?!” Tom whispered to Anna.
“Oh my god. Oh my god!” Anna mumbled, head in her hands.
“They’re dating David fucking Shaw?! Alpha of the Shaw pack?”

Assistant reader needing a sick day and Bruce's life just falling apart for a day?
Bruce hissed when the hot coffee hit his hand and he muffled a swear when across the office, he heard your desk phone ringing and half sprinted to answer it. Annoyed with himself.
He. is. Batman. He's been in charge of a company for how long? So when you called him that morning, sounding horrible and offering to call around and find him a temp from another floor- Bruce had said he'd be fine. And promptly set Alfred to making you some chicken soup.
Now he felt like an idiot. The fax machine, the copier- it was like you had some magic touch that made it all work. And- while he didn't want anyone else at your desk, he really never wanted you to be sick again.
He sank into his desk chair and picked up his phone, dialing your number, "Baby girl. how do you feel?" he asked.
"I just had a bath-"
"Did it help?" He winced when you start coughing and tuts softly. "I'll come see you-"
"No," you protest "I'm fine I just-"
"You need someone there," Bruce said gently, "You sound terrible."
"But-"
"I'll be there around 6," he said, "text Alfred if anything sounds good to eat." And before you could argue, he hung up.

Read that again. 10,000 children. One every 15 minutes. One out every 100 children in Gaza. And there are thousands more missing, their families knowing not whether they're alive or dead.
Read it again.
Go to the article and scroll through the list of names. See how long it is. Those names are only HALF of those killed.
Do everything you possibly can to prevent any more deaths. Call, write, email, fax, contact your representatives or whoever you can. Boycott, donate, raise awareness, sign petitions. Do anything possible to help. Even one death is unacceptable. 10,000 is genocide.

Making this it's own post because it's important and I am tired of seeing disabled people be misinformed and uneducated (not y'all's fault I promise) about their rights in the United States and what your options are if you are discriminated against during the hiring process. Basically, it comes down to the EEOC (equal employment opportunity commission).
I am begging you to go look at their website. Learn about what your rights are so you know exactly when they have been violated. Record interviews, keep any and all emails, requests, texts, faxes, phone calls, etc. Go into any job situation expecting to be discriminated against and prepare accordingly (I know it sucks to think like that but capitalism won't play fair. Neither should you) Filing a claim is free. Filing a charge is free. The EEOC (if they decide to investigate) is free. If they do not take your case they are still an excellent resource for helping you find legal help. You do not have to pay for anything unless you decide to sue, in which case you need a lawyer. There are tons of civil rights pro-bono lawyers out there you just need to look for them.
Will the EEOC fix everything and help you get a job? No. They are a little swamped because of the trump administration's cut to funding forever ago. They can't take all cases. But I promise you even if you have just a first hand verbal account that is enough to open a case and get their attention. You can do this, I believe in you

Chapter 8.
Pairing: post covid! Stan Marsh x post covid! Reader, post covid! Kenny McCormick x post covid! reader.
Triggers: 18+, cheating, smut, gaslighting, fighting.. Reader is married to Stan, bad grammar, short.. Rushing this so I'm finally finished a series
--
Since the secret was out, you hadn't heard from Stan for the past few days despite the fact you had called and texted him, begging for him to come home and how you were willing to make things rights. You hadn't really slept or talked to anyone since. You had texted Kyle to see if he found anything about Stan, from his vague replies you had suspected that he was staying with him. At least he was safe.
Heidi had texted you about the entire situation and she seemed to be the only non-judgmental person talking to you right now. South Park was a small place, rumours were easily spread. You couldn't remember much from when Stan left, but you knew your two week holiday was up and you had to return to work.
When you walked into the door of the building, you could already feel the judgmental whispers and stares, while doing your best to ignore them but you couldn't, not even Butter's glares at you each time he walked by. You couldn't even eat your lunch in peace without people looking at you. You had just sat at your desk all day, pretending to be doing something. Until a fax came through for Kenny, which you had to deliver, which would stir up more rumors'.
But you held your head high when you entered his office. And there he was. His face was still swollen, you couldn't imagine how it looked before with all the blood. His lip was cut, his nose and eye were black, along with a few bruises on his arm. "Hey." You whispered as you handed him the fax, which he muttered a thank you.
You stood there for a moment as Kenny got a few more sheets for you to take out to your desk. "Why."
Kenny knew that the two of you were hot gossip around South Park, especially after the incident that took place at iHop. Kenny could see your eyes were sad and tired. You were a mess, you looked even worst than he did.
Kenny just shrugged. "You said you felt guilty."
"I do, but that was up to me to tell Stan."
"You weren't the only person involved."
There was no denying that Kenny was hurt, physically and mentally. He was always in pain from watching Stan hug and kiss, especially on your wedding day when Stan slipped that ring on your pretty finger, Kenny knew he had fallen in deep. Kenny always wanted you. You made him so fucking happy, you made Kenny feel like human. Even the nights when you'd rearrange plans with Stan to be with him. Kenny craved you so badly, but after this week events; he wasn't sure what was going to happen to either of you.
"If this was you trying to get back at me for ending things than fine. I guess I deserve it, but Stan did not." Kenny could take a thousand beatings from Stan and be okay, but with you, talking about your 'mistake' made Kenny want to remove him eyes. "I'm sorry Ke-."
Kenny held his hands up to stop you. "No, I'm sorry." Kenny figured this would have you running into his arms for him to take you back, but if anything, it made him look disgusting. "I have to go, faxes, lunch.." He rambled, moving past his desk and pasted you, leaving you standing there.
--
Tired, you dragged yourself into the house. You saw your parents car along with Stan's outside your house, and you could only think the worst. All you wanted to do was throw yourself onto the couch and cry yourself to sleep (somewhat). It surprised you Stan was home, but also extremely happy and nervous about what you were walking into.
In the kitchen, your dad sat there with Stan, laughing and smiling as your mom cooked what looked like to be burgers. Stan loved your dad, he was a stable father figure to him when his wasn't available. Stan always loved the feeling of family, and being around your family had helped Stan in his sobriety, especially when you both decided you wanted children.
"Honey." Your mom greeted as she walked up to you and hugged you while your dad smiled at you. Stan sat there, stoned face, but your parents didn't seem to notice. "Stan invited us to dinner. We're so glad you're home." Your dad continued, patting Stan on the back.
"Yeah, today was.. mad." Your voice was dry.
"Yeah, Stan was filling me in on all that happened this week."
You internally panicked, wondering what your husband had just told your parents. You figured it was nothing serious, or else your parents wouldn't be happy. You looked at Stan, who shook his head, letting you know that you were safe and that he didn't say anything about your affair. Your parents stayed for dinner, your dad had to much fun doing the wash up with Stan. They were both laughing and joking, while your mom sat with you, discussing about Uncle Derek's latest adventure to Australia.
When your parents finally left, you went upstairs to your bedroom. You noticed what a mess the room was in with Stan's clothes everywhere. You figured he was moving his stuff out. You heard foot steps coming up the stairs, it was Stan.
"What Stan? I'm a lying slut, you hate me."
"I don't hate you." Stan announced, leaning against the door. "Trust me, I want too. Some of us take our vows more serious than others." He continued, walking over to were you were sitting on the bed as he reached over to hold your hand. "I had called your parents to come get your stuff, and tell them about what had happened, but when they got here and I began talking to them.. You know your dad doesn't think I'm a total loser, he told me he was proud of my sobriety even while running a whiskey company." Stan let out a chuckle. His own dad never told him he was proud of him, let alone try help him get sober when he needed to be most. But he done it, and he would do it again.
"You were never a loser." You muttered, squeezing Stan's hand as you listened to him ramble. You had to becareful with your words. "Listen, I get it when we divorce you can still be friends with my dad."
"Divorce?" Stan shook his head. He wasn't going to throw away his entire marriage over a mistake that you made. "No way. Y/N I am not throwing away my whole fucking marriage over McCormick, okay? I don't know how but you're going to fix it."
You inhaled as you stared at him. You hadn't even considered fixing your marriage since that didn't seem like what Stan wanted, but he did. He was willing to give you a second chance. Stan wrapped his arms around you as you cried into his chest. The past few days had been lonely without him.
"Stop crying." Stan whispered as he hugged you. "You're going to make things right."
"How? How can I make any of this better?"
Stan sighed as he pulled away from you. "I wanted to tell you when things were right.. But there was a buy out on an old whisky company in Wyoming, and my company bought it.. It would be great to expand the market and for growth of the company, which means when the company is starting I will have to be in Wyoming a lot, which is about a seven hour drive." Stan started. "I want you to quit your job and move to Wyoming with me to start a new life without Kenny."
"Stan, I-"
"I am not giving up on this marriage because of Kenny. No way." Stan gripped your hands tightly. "You can fix this by leaving your job, and coming to Wyoming with me. We can have a fresh start, where no one knows who we are, or what has happened..So are you going too?"
You shrugged. "I don't know."
"You don't know?" Stan didn't think he was being unreasonable by asking so much. After all, you were the one who ruined your marriage when you decided to sleep with his best friend. He could of divorced you and went to a strip club, like Kyle had suggested. But he didn't. He wanted you. He wasn't going to lose you to Kenny. You had to work your ass off to make this right, and until Stan could forgive you; he would be the one in charge. "I can tell you my decision."
"Can I think about it? I'd be leaving my parents, our friends."
"I don't think you'd wanna hear what our so called friends are saying about you right now." Stan spat at you, making your head drop. He was right.
You nodded. Stan stood up as he planted a kiss onto your forehead. "I'll give you till Tuesday to think about it, 4:30. You better have a decision." You nodded again, feeling the tears welling back up in your eyes but this time, Stan wiped your eyes and gave you a kind smile (which you didn't deserve). "I'm going to stay at Kyle's until then. I'll see you soon with a decision."
You nodded again. Stan had left. You checked the day on the calendar, seeing that it was Saturday. You had a whole two days to make a decision that will affect the rest of your life, but regardless the consequence of your actions, and now you were paying for it.

seungkwan - lunch
word count : 543
-
the elevator doors opened, and you walked out after quickly saying “have a nice day” to the people who were in the elevator with you. you looked around the area and found your husband's cubicle. he was sitting at his desk on the phone, most likely talking to a client or another coworker.
"excuse me?" you turned around and saw a guy standing behind you with some files in his arms. "do you need something? are you here to speak to an accountant?" he asked.
"oh, no," you shook your head in response.
"may i ask why you're here?" he asked again, trying to figure who you were since you clearly weren’t an employee.
"chan, don't worry about it."
you turned around and saw seungkwan standing up from his desk while putting the phone back on the receiver.
"why are you here?" seungkwan immediately asked you as he walked over to you.
"you said you were hungry, so i bought you lunch," you said, referencing the text he had sent you earlier and taking out a plastic bag from your tote bag. "here. it's from your favorite place, and i got you a dessert too."
he smiled and accepted the bag. "you didn't have to do this," he said to you.
"it's fine, babe. i was nearby," you said, smiling at him. "are you busy?" you asked.
he nodded, "yea, a little bit, so i might be home a smidge late."
"just make sure to eat. don't want my money to be wasted after all," you said with a laugh. "i'll see you later. drive home safe," you said and kissed his cheek.
"see you later," he smiled and walked you back to the elevator. he waved as you went into the elevator once the doors opened before heading back to his desk with the bag.
"was that your wife, hyung?" chan asked while his coworker went back to his desk.
"my fiancée," seungkwan replied and sat down. as he untied the bag, he looked up at chan, "did you get the forms from the sports company?" he asked chan.
"they should be faxing them over soon. i'll check once i call wonwoo hyung. he's stuck in traffic, and his client can't make the meeting due to the weather," chan replied.
seungkwan nodded and took two boxes out of the plastic bag. he immediately chuckled when he realized where the smaller box was from.
"what?" chan asked, curious (but also hungry for lunch).
"the dessert is from our favorite bakery, and it's all the way across town, which means she drove from our apartment to the bakery and then to this side of town to bring me lunch from the place i go to almost everyday," seungkwan replied with a smile. "i love her."
"man, i wish i had a girl like that...bringing me lunch...saying "i love you" to me," chan immediately sulked.
"what about that girl—"
"i didn't ask her out. i'm a chicken," chan replied and started walking away, "must be nice to be in love."
seungkwan rolled his eyes and started checking his email as he started to eat his lunch, smiling when he ate the small piece of cake that was in the box from the bakery.

🇵🇸low spoons, low income ways to support a free palestine🇵🇸
For many low-income and/or disabled activists, we can't always do the obvious things to support Palestine like donating money or going to protests. I'm compiling this list to remind myself what I *can* do, and I'm hoping it might help some other people too.
Disclaimer: you might not find all of these to be low spoons for you--maybe drawing is physically difficult, or phone calls are distressing. These are just ideas! Please ignore and adapt them to suit your needs and abilities <3
🍉Get creative with stickers, posters, zines, whatever!
Adhesive shipping labels from USPS ship to your house for free (if you live in the US). You can order up to 750 at a time! Draw a Palestinian flag or "Free Gaza" on there and stick them everywhere (it's actually quite easy to vandalize without getting caught).
If you want to go bigger, try a wheatpaste, and if you have access to a printer or copier, leave some zines around (tutorial, canva template). If you are housebound, you can give them to a friend to spread around for you.
You can also make signs and have someone else take them to a protest. If you're a sewist, make a puppet or wearable patches!
🍉Display a Palestinian flag or pro-Palestine sign in your window
If you live in an area where this isn't safe, or if you don't have your own space, assess the risk before you do this. You could also put up a more subtle symbol, such as a watermelon, if you are nervous about backlash.
🍉Contact your reps!
I know people say this all the time, but for my US-based friends, some pointers to make it take as few spoons as possible--
Democracy.io makes it super easy to email both your senators and your representative at the same time.
Faxzero.com allows you to send a fax straight to your reps' printers. Not all of their offices have this enabled, but I've heard faxes are more direct than emails.
If you don't know what to say, you can adapt this template (it's a bit outdated). Or just write "Free Palestine" or "Ceasefire Now." Something is better than nothing!
🍉Participate in phone zaps
Often times, organizations like USPCN or Jewish Voice for Peace will ask for people to call a person or organization to put pressure on them, such as demanding that a university drop charges against student protestors. Monitor those accounts and, if you're up for it, call or leave a message. Or, you could even text the group chat and conduct your own phone zap!
🍉Check out library books about Palestine
You also may be able to request that your library purchase certain titles, or request titles they don't have through interlibrary loan!
🍉Write a letter to the editor
You can write either to a local paper or a school paper, if you're a student or alum. This is a great way to break out of the echo chamber--local papers often have an intergenerational audience.
🍉Send in a public comment to a city council meeting
Many cities have the option to send in a public comment electronically! So if you can't make it to an in-person meeting, this is a good option, especially if your city is trying to pass a ceasefire resolution.
🍉Attend online Jewish Voice for Peace "Power Half-Hour for Gaza"
JVP's Power Half-Hours are a wonderful space to grieve, process, and build stamina for the fight to come. Monday through Friday, 3pm ET/ 12pm PT, 30 minutes of solidarity-building and reflection facilitated by Jewish leaders but open to all. You can pre-register to join on Zoom or stream on YouTube.
🍉Support friends who go to protests/actions
That can be as simple as texting them before and after and making sure they are safe, lending them a bandana or rain gear, or providing a place to decompress afterward! If you have an animal that does well in crowds, consider allowing a trusted friend to take them to a protest or encampment for a short time. Seeing dogs in keffiyehs always makes my day <3
---
🍉Other Considerations and Reminders 🍉
Focus on the long haul. It's more important to create a pace of activism that's sustainable for you than it is to do everything all the time.
"Ought" implies "can." If you are unable to do something, or if it would be very difficult for you to do so, you are in no way obligated to do that thing!
Block words on social media if you need to. In a similar vein, you do not need to force yourself to constantly watch graphic videos or read upsetting posts. Yes, Gaza has asked us to bear witness to the atrocities there--"All Eyes on Gaza Now" is a common chant for a reason. But that doesn't mean you, specifically, must doomscroll forever.
Please reblog with your own favorite ways to advocate for Palestine when you're broke and spoonless 🇵🇸 🇵🇸

What Was Lost in Translation in MMBN3: The Tally
Hello, friends. Despite having an active fanbase, I’ve noticed there’s not a lot of information on the MMBN series when it comes to issues of translation and localization. During my recent replay of BN3, I noticed something that had always bugged me when I played it as a kid: the “Tally” Key Item, which a guard asks for before you’re allowed to enter the Undernet, an area infamous in MMBN’s world for being lawless and highly dangerous. But just what is this tally? What does it count? Why does the guard want it? Let’s needlessly fixate on a small detail in a children’s game from 20 years ago see if we can finally unravel this decades-old mystery with the help of the JP text.
Debuting in 2001 and concluding in 2009 with a Japan-only remake of BN1, the MMBN series falls into an awkward “growing pains” phase of Japanese-to-English localization: just after the PS1 gold rush of JRPGs kicked off by Final Fantasy VII where localization was a lawless frontier, but before developers started grasping that localization was its own discipline that needed to work alongside game creators directly for crucial context and technical input. MMBN’s localizations are indicative of the era’s shortcomings as a whole: largely serviceable translations marred by obvious errors caused by localizers working in the dark without context.
The Tally confusion is emblematic of this problem. In BN3, you acquire an item called a “Tally” which you need to get by a guard in front of the entrance to the Undernet. Everyone who’s played BN3 has thought something along these lines: “What is this a tally of, exactly? Why does the guard let me pass when I show it?” Luckily for us, a quick glance at the original JP text yields the answer.
Tumblr media
The JP text calls this item ura no warifu. Some of you may already know that ura, meaning reverse side or hidden side, is what the Undernet is called in the original Japanese script of MMBN. Look up warifu in most common online dictionaries, though, and you’ll get back a definition that says something like “tally” or “check”... but that still doesn’t answer what this thing is supposed to be or why the guard wants it.
Historically, a warifu is very similar to the Western concept of indentured documents: splitting a piece of paper or wood in half, both parties keep one half, and they fit the halves back together like puzzle pieces when the deal is concluded to prove their identity. Before international banking or ID cards, this was the only real way to do that. Hence the somewhat misleading definitions of “tally” and “check”: these were indeed once used as proof in transactions, like as a tally of goods, but what’s important in this context is how they were once a proof of identity too.
Take another look at the item’s icon in the screenshot above: it should hopefully be clear now that it’s supposed to be a piece of wood split in half in such a way as to make each piece too unique to duplicate, hence the odd “U”-shaped hole at the bottom. That’s why the guard won’t let you pass without it: denizens of the Undernet, being outlaws, don’t have any official way to prove they’re supposed to be there, so they have to resort to primitive methods like this. When he says you need a “Tally” to go through, what he’s trying to say is that you need the wood piece that matches his to prove your identity.
The reason this was all lost in translation is almost certainly because the localizers lacked the context to understand which aspect of a warifu was important. Back in 2003, it would have been common for localizers to just be faxed enormous spreadsheets with the raw JP text of the game’s script. Sometimes scene notes would be provided, but more often they wouldn’t. I’d bet money that some beleaguered localizer saw ウラ のわりふ in a lonesome cell on a gargantuan spreadsheet and wondered about it, but then realized he had an 8-character limit on Key Item names and still had 6,000 pages to go, so he just typed in “Tally” and moved on. With the benefit of hindsight, the best solution would’ve probably been to go with something like “UndrPass” (recall the 8-character max for Key Item names) and try to fit something in the item description about how it had been split in half as proof of identity.
Funnily enough, warifu actually cropped up in another recent game, but you probably didn’t notice it:
Tumblr media
The above screenshot is from Elden Ring, and 割符 is how warifu is written in kanji. Literally, the kanji for warifu mean “split token” or “divided token”. As I understand it, this detail was omitted for concision and the item is simply referred to as a medallion (I have not actually played Elden Ring myself, so I’m just going off of wiki pages). Still, it just goes to show you never know when the lessons you learned from one game can appear in another!
If there’s interest, there’s a number of other topics I can cover in regards to MMBN and its troubled localization. Off the top of my head, there’s:
- Why is the End Area in BN5 called that? It’s a feudal Japanese town and not even the last area in the game; there’s nothing particularly final about it. The answer is probably the biggest mistranslation in the series, and it all comes back to - you guessed it - the localizers once again not having enough context!
- Did you know the fake names of countries were invented in localization, and in JP, MMBN expressly takes place in Japan instead of Electopia (although it’s spelled differently than how one would usually spell it, which raises questions of its own)? Further, numerous references are made to Akihabara, and the final level of BN2 is all but stated to take place in Yokohama, among other examples.
- The meaning of Mamoru’s name in BN3 has already been well documented, but did you know there’s still more to be uncovered? The TV in Lan’s house foreshadows the importance of the Ura Inn, and a pun lost in translation highlights the connection between Tamako and MetalMan.
- What’s up with everyone’s English names? What kind of name is “Chaud”, anyway? The answer is a classic case of a solution for one stand-alone game working perfectly... until you get a sequel and suddenly a detail added in localization starts to spiral out of control, like what happened with the first Phoenix Wright game taking place in America for the English localization. In fact, there’s a very special connection between Ace Attorney and MMBN... maybe I can go into it some more!
I know this is a marked departure from my usual fare, so do let me know if you’ve enjoyed this, and if you’re interested in any of the above. Have a great week!
Yours in gratitude, If Animal Trapped

The worst part about being sick is having to call in sick like what do you mean I have to make a call, can't I text this, send an email, fax, send a letter, anything but having to make an actual call?
