Herbig antwortete: Nein, den Film würde er so heute nicht noch mal drehen. Auf die Nachfrage, warum nicht, sprach Herbig von einer „Comedy-Polizei“, und dass man Leuten schnell „auf die Füße“ trete. Er beklagte zudem einen Verlust seiner künstlerischen Freiheit. An dieser Stelle hörten bei „3 nach 9“ die kritischen Nachfragen auf und das Genicke fing an. Einzig Doris Dörrie widersprach. Der Kulturwandel mache Comedy komplizierter, aber keineswegs unfrei.

Comedy altert selten gut. Drum ist es nichts Neues, dass Comedians eigene Werke kritisieren. Matt Lucas hat sich zum Beispiel mal von seiner Hitshow „Little Britain“ distanziert, konkret vom Blackface und den Transvestiten-Figuren. Seine Sichtweise habe sich "weiterentwickelt", so Lucas. Zum Vergleich: Lucas begreift gesellschaftliche Veränderung als etwas, mit der Ko­mi­ke­r*in und Werk umzugehen haben. Herbig dagegen verschiebt das Problem zu den anderen, die es wagen, seinen Film nicht mehr bedingungslos zu lieben.

A film whose main genre is Western

Ok, I gotta go with Der Schuh des Manitu (The shoe of Manitou). It's one of the dumbest and silliest movies ever made and it 100% aged badly, but it's still the most successful German movie in Germany and for a reason too. It was a phenomenon back when it came out, it pokes fun at all those cheesy Karl May movies we grew up with and the jokes were just perfect for my 13 year old self.

Es macht mich immer wahnsinnig, wenn eine autobiografische Untersuchung eines Phänomens ganz interessant ist, aber dann nicht wirklich zerpflückt, was da eigentlich abgeht; die Homophobie in diesem Film ist so faszinierend zu zerlegen, aber dann geht man in den 1800 Wörtern doch nicht so tief und bringt noch ein paar ausgewaschene Absätze rein, damit man sich bloß keinen Ärger einhandelt aaaah!!!

Kann man aber trotzdem lesen.

It used to be The Cat Returns for the longest time! Then it got replaced with What We Do In The Shadows. Currently, it's Open Season for nostalgia reasons <3

Oh, that's a tie between Vampire in Brooklyn (Eddie Murphy as a vampire!!!!!) and Wild Wild West! Also 7 Zwerge - Männer Allein Im Wald + 7 Zwerge - Der Wald ist nicht genug (German snow white and the seven dwarfs parodies), (T)raumschiff Surprise (German Star Wars/Star Trek parody), Lissi und der wilde Kaiser (German Sissi parody), and Der Schuh des Manitu (German Winnetou and Wild West media in general parody. tho this one aged Very Poorly and is quite clumsily racist looking back on it with my current knowledge and sensibilities 😬 It was funnier when I was 5 years old and didn't know much about this grossly romanticised and unrealistic view Germans have of Native Americans... That's what several generations growing up on Karl May's romanticised/fantastical view of the Wild West does to a country and its media world I guess. At least all the scenes with the gang of outlaws still are and always will be funny <3)
