#Dan's was lightning and vengeance

Danny has an Ice Core.
He isn't aware of it, but this does, in fact, greatly influence how his ghost form looks as he grows up.
His appearance starts getting more rugged, eyes a paler, more piercing green, hair a bit more uncontrollable and wild.
He packs muscle easily, even in human form.
When in ghost form, he has an aura of something patient and dangerous, and that sense only grows the older he gets.
Basically, our boy starts to look like a viking.
No matter how goofy and bumbling he really is, his first impression is always a horrifying moment for whoever is meeting him.
And as his ghost form grows with his human form, he outgrows his hazmat outfit. Frostbite and the Far Frozen fashion him some new clothes-which only compliment and play off of the viking aesthetic he's got going on.
And with the height he inherited from his father?
Our man is a very, very intimidating figure to look at. More so than Dan; because while Dan was dangerous and scary, he was all energy and lightning and rage.
Adult Danny comes across as lethal and terrifying, all ice and persistence and that final, terrible silence before you realize you've already died.
Dan felt like the warrior in front of you. Danny feels like the wilderness in winter, vast and unforgiving.
Anyways, when a summoning for Klarion goes horribly wrong and Danny gets called instead, the Justice League has a moment where they're convinced they've summoned something much, much worse than Klarion.
And Danny, standing there completely confused, is not helping by remaining silent and still while staring John Constantine in the eye.
Good news, the bad guys are also very concerned about the weird ghost viking and are actually moving to stand side by side with the Justice League on this.
Bad news, who the fuck is this guy?
"...Fuck," is all Constantine whispers, backing away slowly.

Day 7 had hardly any pictures and hardly any riding. We were woken around 4am by a violent storm - wind, thunder, lightning, and hail. When the day dawned there was tree matter everywhere and streams of water running down the roads.
The guides made a safety decision to shuttle us past the first part of the ride which was a descent (this video is that shuttle). Then we got riding up the first climb.
The rain, which had briefly settled, came back with a vengeance. The weather made the climb miserable and anytime there was even the slightest descent, it was so cold. By the time I got to the top though I was warm and thought I’d be fine so I waved to the guide and told her I’d see her at the next stop.
Um, no. Within minutes of starting the descent I was freezing. Like an idiot, I kept on, thinking the descent wasn’t that long and I’d just stop at the first village. That first village seemed like it was miles away and when I eventually found a safe place to stop and wait, I could barely feel anything any more. Face, hands, feet, body, all numb. I have NEVER been so cold and wet.
I was so happy to see the van as it came around the corner. When it pulled over to pick me up, there were already a few riders in there - smarter people who had abandoned at the top! And then, as we loaded, another person in the group poked their head around the next corner. Apart from two riders (one of whom was Dan), all the remaining riders were huddled into a doorway around the corner!
We were all soaking wet and freezing cold but it was quite a jovial atmosphere once we all got into the van. The guides were awesome and re-engaged the shuttle taxi from the first part of the day to take us to our next hotel.
Once we got there, we realised our luggage hadn’t made it yet and I was still shivering away in my damp clothes. Once I got our room I cranked up the heating, stripped down, and used the hairdryer to dry myself and make an attempt at drying my clothes while waiting for Dan to ride in. He made it unscathed.
It was quite the day!

Part I (you’re here) , Part II
As it always did, it caught him by surprise.
Unexpected.
Unprepared.
And, as always, it was far worse than how he -accurately- remembered it being.
Right now, he’s staring ahead, pretty sure it hadn’t hurt so much the times before, although he knows better than anyone that pain, no matter how awful and traumatizing, always seems to escape memory’s grasp.
Everything is blurry and kind of foggy too. It takes him a while to realize that the reason there’s something odd about his current position is not only due to his vision abilities, or lack thereof, but because the wall his mind had told him he was leaning against is actually the floor, and by leaning he meant lying flat on it.
Oh, so that was the “thump” he had heard at some point. He doesn’t know when exactly, he can’t associate the noise to a particular moment, the passage of time not currently being one of his brain’s priorities.
There’re more noises now, hard, strong, quick, they vibrate all around him. He somehow feels like the source of all that noise occurred a while before his head was actually able to process the sound, and his suspicions are proved correct when he sees something appear before his eyes, no sounds involved.
Whatever it’s blocking his view of the carpet’s horizon is black and hazy around the edges, blurry as all the other things around him.
Suddenly, the black shape shifts, now—rounder? There’s some white too.
Then, out of nowhere, the world turns and the pain he’s somehow been able to ignore for a while, makes itself known with a vengeance and he screams, or at least that’s how it feels like, even though he knows somewhere deep in his mind that no sounds have come out of his mouth.
His vision is pulsing and black dots, hundreds of them, cover his eyes and he feels like throwing up, like someone has just grabbed him and spun him until he can no longer tell up from down.
His body is on fire and freezing at the same time, every single nerve in his body screaming as if being stabbed. Everything hurts. His legs, his arms, his middle, his hands, his head, his neck, his eyes.
He just wants it to stop, stop, stop, it hurts, it hurts!
The carpet is no longer there, he knows that much, but there’s still something lingering near the side of his face and more things covering his view, with different forms and colors, but everything’s too blurred and smudged for him to recognize any of it.
Sound reaches his ears once more but it seems further away, he’s barely able to hear it. It sounds low and gibberish.
It’s confusing.
Everything’s too confusing and he’s confused and he doesn’t like it. He hates not knowing what’s going on (only, maybe a part of him still does?), he hates not knowing, period.
And, surprise, surprise, it makes him panic.
And he truly doesn’t know what’s worse. Either the panic, heavy and cold inside his chest, squeezing and crushing and suffocating; or the pain, scalding and sharp and excruciating.
He knows for a fact he’s felt this and thought of this all the times prior, but it doesn’t stop him from doing so again now.
So, again, he wonders. He wonders how is it possible for someone to feel cold and hot at the same time. To feel like the blood inside you has frozen enough to feel like lava is traveling through them instead; for everything inside you to be burning like fire yet making you feel void and cold.
Logan would have a stroke if he ever heard about it. Sadly, he’s currently too busy suffering through the pain to take any kind of comfort in said mental image.
He feels like crying. He thinks he must be. He’s pretty sure not even Princey would be able to stand such torture without a few tears being shared. Actually, he would probably make a show of it just for the sake of dramatics. Still, not really the point here.
Besides, he doesn’t want to contemplate the possibility of any of the others ever going through something like this. Never. The thought alone makes the panic increase tenfold.
Luckily, maybe, if you could call it that, the agony keeps the panic at bay. He knows the pain won’t be receding, so he rather not panic even more on top of that.
Not that he can actually think about all these things clearly. Thoughts come and go, fleeting moments of cognitive work between waves and waves of mind blowing pain.
Still, even if it hurts to think just as much as breathing currently does, he’s thankful for them, even if it only makes the pain inside his skull worse, they provide comfort for some reason. They don’t stop the pain, but they certainly distract him from the pressure on his chest.
And really, that’s all he could ever ask for right now, cause is that same pressure the one that makes it hard to breathe, even more so than the physical agony, and that makes something caught on his throat to grow bigger and for his eyes to burn. It’s what makes the fear grow even louder than the freezing and the burning and he can’t- he can’t- he just-
He’s scared. He’s scared and he’s lost and he’s alone and he doesn’t know what’s going on or why he’s in pain and he’s afraid. So, so afraid.
And it hurts, it hurts to think, to breathe, to be.
He just wants it to stop.
What was he thinking right now? What was it that had somehow managed to take the panic away? What was it? Whatever it was he wants it back. He can take the pain. Just please make the tightness inside his chest and the burning in his eyes go. Just make the fear stop.
What was it? Why can’t he remember? Why can’t he remember?! What was it what was it what was-
There’s white.
Why is there white. He had forgotten. There’re black dots everywhere but there’s also white. And red. Why is there red? Red is scary. But this… this isn’t… scary?
The confusion makes the pit in his chest stop mattering for a second and that’s enough time for him to grasp at the distraction with all his might. And it’s by pure determination that all his senses zero in on the bright white and red before him and the black dots make space for his eyes to see and it’s like breaking out of water to breathe.
He realizes there’re still noises floating around, even though they don’t make sense. And just as he’s about to try and look for more, to make sense of the white and the red, pain shoots through his body like lightning again.
It’s like a slap to the face. It burns, but it wakes him, if only for a second.
And as things start getting darker around the edges, the black dots becoming one solid body around his vision field, for a second, he’s able to feel. He’s rigid, and tightly bound against something and for a moment he has a body again, not just a general mass of hurting.
And he can hear. And the noises are no longer random muffled sounds but voices. Those are voices.
And as the moment is cut short and the darkness takes more and more of the white and red, and those two colors dull enough to be considered shades of grey, he finally gets it.
Things keep tilting and shifting and moving, and if it wasn’t for the pain he would actually be able to be nauseous because of it, and he still doesn’t know what is happening, but he remembers now.
Those aren’t just voices. Those are the others. His others.
“…xiet…y….”
He doesn’t know who says it, but it doesn’t matter, because someone did (he’s not alone) and that someone was calling for him (they are here).
There’s only black now and whatever is said after that no longer reaches him, but it’s okay, cause it was enough for his brain to be kicked into gear and for him to get a few milliseconds of clarity.
It’s his name. He knows it. He’s not alone.
He’s safe.
And he remembers.
‘Ah… that’s right…’ he thinks, just before fading completely ‘…they know now…’
And then everything’s gone.

Stupid Rain
Hello, Love bugs!
Phil X Reader
Warnings- swears.
It was storming so bad when I wrote this the thunder shook the house.
This was stupid, you were a grown ass person who knew how to handle themselves. So why if you were such a grown person why was this storm scaring you like a little kid? Dan and Phil had to go out of town for meetings leaving you hopeless in the flat, alone with only the plushies to save you from the big bad storm. Before leaving yesterday Phil was convinced that the two of you could build a boat to travel in down the streets in style. Dan put a veto to building a boat in the lounge but that’s because he is a spoil sport. You almost wished you took up Phil on his offer to build a boat because if the flat was to flood you would have nothing to float in. Not even a door like Rose in Titanic.
Between the thunder that literally shook the place and the lightning that shined through the curtains every ten seconds, you felt hopeless. It's not like you are a scaredy cat but this storm was coming with a vengeance. The boys were meant to come back home during the afternoon but due to the ever-loving weather, they were held up. So that meant dealing with the storm alone for another evening.
You had tried to push back going to bed as late as possible. You did everything in your power to make yourself stay up as late as possible so that went you finally went to bed you would be so exhausted you would fall right asleep. That plan would have worked if it weren’t for the thunder that scared you so bad after laying down that you now felt more awake than you ever had in your whole life.
After tossing and turning for the last twenty minutes or so you decided that maybe a drink would be what you needed to help calm down. That and maybe a snack from Phil’s stash of marshmallows. You made your way down the hall towards the kitchen where the snacks awaited. Thankfully you left the light above the counter on so you had some way of finding your way. After rustling through the cupboards and fridge you were satisfied with your harvest that you could probably make your way back to Phil’s room with everything in tow. They say you shouldn’t get cocky, you weren’t sure who they were but, in this case, they were right. You were about to leave the kitchen when the unthinkable happened. The power went out. Normally it's not a huge deal. The boys live in London, light pollution is a problem. Except everyone in the surrounding area was also out of power. Meaning for the first time in forever, London was dark and creepy. Rubbing your face with your hand you had to decide. Try and make it back to Phil’s room in the pitch black where your phone with a flashlight was. Or camp out in the kitchen for a while and hope that the ghosts of murders past didn’t feel inclined to come and avenge themselves by eating your soul. Was that dramatic? Yes. Did you care even a bit? Nope. You were supposed to be cuddled in bed with Phil to protect you right now. Not sitting on the kitchen floor with nothing to protect yourself with other than a vast number of mugs that the boys had. Well, those and the knives in the butcher’s block.
As you were arguing with yourself about how to properly kill murder ghosts you heard a sound come from the front door. “Great, just great. At least the ghosts have the kindness to knock before they burst through the door.” You said standing up from your spot in the kitchen. In these situations, who is more likely to die? Someone who goes to the door, or someone who stays in one spot. Another push to the door was your sign that maybe you should go check it out. After you found your way to the front door you were trying to decide if you should peek out of the peep hole or not when the door came crashing open hitting the wall behind it making you let out a scream of fear. Who ever it was that opened the door let out a healthy scream as well. The two of you were obviously not expecting each other. Just as you were about to question who the hell this stranger was you could hear Dan’s voice come from the hall.
“Y/N? Are you okay? Jesus, we didn’t mean to scare you. With the power, out we had to find the maintenance guy to come open the door because our key fobs wouldn’t work.”The man you had scared apologised profusely before moving into the hall to let Dan into the room. “Thanks for letting us in. Sorry for her screaming in your face.” You flicked Dan as the man left for the evening.
“I didn’t mean to scream. I didn’t think that you guys were coming back this evening.Jesus man.” Dan had a quick giggle as he pushed his suitcase into the apartment. “Where is Philly?” Dan continued walking down the hall towards the kitchen.
“I’m right here love.” You turned around to see Phil in the door way smiling in the little amount of light coming from the emergency lights from the hall. You ran into him wrapping your arms around his torso, letting your head rest on his chest.
“I missed you like crazy. It’s been a crazy few days without you in this storm.” Phil pulled you closer as he let the door close behind the two of you letting the dark wrap around the room.
“Hey, I missed you too. Dan and I figured we may never get out of this stupid storm.” Phil had pulled you somehow even tighter so you could rest your head against his chest and inhale his scent. his pillow stopped smelling like him the other day.
“I found the flashlight!” Dan said rounding the corner as he pointed the light directly in your eyes.”
“Damn it, Daniel. That's so bright that you could send the queen light signals out the window.” Phil laughed as he unwrapped his body from yours.
“Come on Y/N. Let us go to bed and cuddle out this stupid storm.” You nodded as your laced your fingers with Phil’s, letting his lead the way. Dan used the light to shine his way over to his bag.
Once in the bed room, you crawled into Phil’s bed as he undressed in the dark trying to hop his way over to the bed without banging his shins into the bed frame.Once in bed, you found Phil in the big bed letting his wrap his arms around you again. Even if it made the already muggy room feel even hotter. Phil was back and there was finally a little bit of sunshine on the horizon.

Upper Wilds — Guitar Module 2017 (Thrill Jockey)
Tumblr media
Guitar Module 2017 by Upper Wilds
For the last half decade, Dan Friel has been making a buzzy, fizzy, racket, the most joyful sort of solo electronic noise. In 2015, I wrote that Life, “takes that bouncy castle exuberance to even greater lengths, channeling the euphoria of sleep-short early parenthood into woozy, optimistic grooves.” But what was missing, if you were a fan of Parts & Labor, was the gleeful skree of distorted guitar and the joltingly tuneful vocals jetting out from the roar. With Upper Wilds, Friel’s first guitar band since Parts & Labor folded in 2011, it’s all back with a vengeance.
Upper Wilds puts Friel back on guitar and surrounds him with rock players – that’s Zach Lehrhoff of Ex-Models and Pterodactyl on bass and Aaron Siegel on drums. Electronics still screech and hiss and burble maniacally at the margins, but they cede precedence to chiming, stirring guitar chords, as on the opener, “Reentry Breakup Recorder,” which rumbles with space engine noises at the outset but coalesces around a riff that can only be called anthemic (and continues into the bludgeoningly catchy “UFO”).
While not quite a concept album, Guitar Module 2017 works at some common themes throughout — the destruction of nature, its consequences and the possibility of interplanetary migration; it has an odd combination of pessimism and exuberance. “Vampire Crane,” for instance, contemplates an overbuilt future in which ““The tunnel's getting wider than the mountain No place left to build nowhere to go,“ while “Chainsaw” ponders the ravages of deforestation. “Let’s Build a Moon,” riffs on a similarly buzz-saw distorted but tuneful song by the Swell Maps (“Let’s Build a Car”) but sees technology less as a fun toy than a post-apocalyptic escape hatch. Yet while all these songs pose troubling questions, they are delivered with euphoric good cheer. The noise is loud and bubbly and fills your chest like highly carbonated optimism.
That weird mix of triumph and existential dread extends to the one non-space related tune, “Roy Sullivan,” which considers the odds-beating case of a Virginia park ranger who survived seven separate lightning strikes. A high screaming guitar scramble gives way to a galumphing four/four beat, the kind that shakes the foundations, as Friel considers the good fortune (or otherwise) of this unlikely hero. “Count yourself lucky 12345/6-7-8 times now sky's come down for my life /Tell me bout your troubles man I'll tell you mine/Get ready to ascend in that Elysian light,” he sings, in the kind of giddy close harmony amid noise that might remind you of certain Mission of Burma songs.
Indeed, as with the Parts & Labor albums, you can draw comparisons from Guitar Module 2017 to first round Burma, to Hüsker Dü and to Wire, because it is so confrontational and yet so grin-inducingly fun. If you’ve missed P&L’s amp-bending catchiness and didn’t quite find it in the solo material, this is for you.

A Jotunn, a Pirate, and a Wraith walk into the DC Universe-(part 3, final)
Part 1, Part 2, Ao3
Jason was shit out of luck.
He was out of bullets, down a leg, Damian had gotten himself knocked unconscious, and they were still completely surrounded.
Jason still nudged the youngest Bat as far behind him as he could.
He'd been the only one close enough when the word that Ra's had finally managed to kidnap Damian had reached him, and was still too late to spare the kid from the League of Assassin's particular version of a warm welcome.
He'd still been the first on scene, and fuck him for admitting it, but Bruce had been right.
He should have waited for backup.
Because he had not only fucked himself, but he'd also screwed over Damian.
The League began to close in.
And Jason had nowhere else to run.
He back was quite literally to a pit, and everywhere else was filled with League Assassins.
Jason forced himself to stand back up.
With one hand braced against the ledge of the pit, he shifted so that his weight was on his unbroken leg.
The blood running down his arm dripped into the Lazarus Pit, he took only a brief moment to watch it mix with the vibrant green.
'If I don't get out of this,' Jason thought as he turned away and back towards their enemies, 'Then at least let me fall in the Pit so I can make the Pay.'
The League Assassins...started taking steps back.
Jason, against his better judgement, turned his head just enough to peek behind him.
Then he turned around so hard he accidentally threw himself to the ground.
There was something rising from the Lazarus Pit.
It...looked like a man, ascending into the air until his feet didn't touch the green Waters he hovered above.
The air, which had had at least a small bit of movement from crossbreezes and rising heat, went completely still, and the scent of blood and ozone polluted the air.
White hair flickered like fire, licking at the air. The man's clawed hands flexed, and his dead dead dead red eyes bore into Jason's soul. His skin was blue, but wasn't that normal?
All corpses had a blue tint to them, after all.
And Jason had seen so fucking many.
The man's clothes appeared to be tactical in nature, or they had been at one point. They were battered, stained, burned. There was a shawl of sorts that clung to him through no visible means, it's ends turning into a wispy mist that shrouded and outlined the man in equal measure.
He floated soundlessly, not even pretending to take any steps as he moved forward, those glowing red eyes completely focused on the buffet of prey in front of him.
Jason could actually hear some of the Assassins attempting to run.
Hell, he could feel the Pit within him cowering.
The man in front of him was fucking dangerous.
Everything about him screamed Pain. Every movement was restrained, like a panther going in for a kill.
Then the man smiled; a cruel thing that Jason had seen on far too many people. The kind of people he hunted, the kind of people he hired, the kind of person he'd become.
And between one blink and the next, the man was working to prove that he could deliver pain and cruelty just as well as he could threaten it, deep, harsh laughter bouncing off of the walls of the cave; even as he was decorating said walls red.
Lightning lit up the cavern, illuminating just how well the new red paintjob on the walls matched the mans eyes, and Jason looked away. He instead used that opportunity to check on Damian.
He ignored the screaming and the begging, the wet noises and charred flesh scents, and came to the satisfactory conclusion that Damian would be alright with medical treatment.
Then, as Jason managed to drag himself yet again into a standing position, it was done. Everything had fallen silent, and the man was standing in front of him with a sneering smile that was all fangs and satisfaction.
"Hey kid," the man said, snapping his blood-covered fingers in Jason's face, "Pay up."
Jason jerked back, almost blacking out as he twisted his broken leg.
"Pay you...with what, motherfucker? I'm broke as shit and I sure as fuck didn't summon you." Jason lied through his teeth when he successfully fought off the light-headedness. He was, like, pretty sure material wealth didn't mean much to Spirits.
Which he was fairly certain was what this was.
Blood, Lazarus Water, intense Desire and Will?
Probably accidentally a summoning.
One Jason absolutely refused to take responsibility for.
"Oh no, you don't get to fuckin' lie to me," the man-spirit-thing rumbled, resting a hand on Jason's chest, "I just did all that work for you, you ungrateful shitstain, I deserve a snack at least."
Then the hand plunged into his chest, and Jason became painfully aware that Damian was absolutely awake when he heard the kid scream his name.
His first name.
Fuck, he was gonna die, wasn't he?
But it didn't hurt. There wasn't even any additional blood, really.
Then the man ripped his arm back, and in his hand he held...a very angry green blob?
Which he then ate.
"Fuck, that's some potent shit. Thanks for the liquor kid; you're too young for it anyways."
With that, the man disappeared entirely.
Jason slid to the ground and largely ignored Damian's desperate pawing at his chest.
What the absolute shit had just happened?
The other half of what the man had said caught up to his brain just as the rest of the family came barging in.
"...But I am old enough to drink!"

Rules! Choose 20 books you want to read or goals you want to achieve in 2020. That’s it! It can be a mix of books and goals, or 20 books, or 20 goals…it’s up to you. Then tag some friends to play along.
I got tagged by a friend on another sideblog, but I thought I’d do a list of books here as well! I kept that one to mostly non-fiction, so this one will be mostly fiction. Psalm 97
Psalm 97
The Glory of God’s Reign
1 The Lord is king! Let the earth rejoice; let the many coastlands be glad! 2 Clouds and thick darkness are all around him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne. 3 Fire goes before him, and consumes his adversaries on every side. 4 His lightnings light up the world; the earth sees and trembles. 5 The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth.
6 The heavens proclaim his righteousness; and all the peoples behold his glory. 7 All worshipers of images are put to shame, those who make their boast in worthless idols; all gods bow down before him. 8 Zion hears and is glad, and the towns[a] of Judah rejoice, because of your judgments, O God. 9 For you, O Lord, are most high over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods.
10 The Lord loves those who hate[b] evil; he guards the lives of his faithful; he rescues them from the hand of the wicked. 11 Light dawns[c] for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart. 12 Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous, and give thanks to his holy name!

Psalm 99-100
Psalm 99
Praise to God for His Holiness
1 The Lord is king; let the peoples tremble! He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake! 2 The Lord is great in Zion; he is exalted over all the peoples. 3 Let them praise your great and awesome name. Holy is he! 4 Mighty King,[a] lover of justice, you have established equity; you have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob. 5 Extol the Lord our God; worship at his footstool. Holy is he!
6 Moses and Aaron were among his priests, Samuel also was among those who called on his name. They cried to the Lord, and he answered them. 7 He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud; they kept his decrees, and the statutes that he gave them.
8 O Lord our God, you answered them; you were a forgiving God to them, but an avenger of their wrongdoings. 9 Extol the Lord our God, and worship at his holy mountain; for the Lord our God is holy.
Psalm 100
All Lands Summoned to Praise God
A Psalm of thanksgiving.
1 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. 2 Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.
3 Know that the Lord is God. It is he that made us, and we are his;[b] we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name.
5 For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Psalm 94-95
Psalm 94
God the Avenger of the Righteous
1 O Lord, you God of vengeance, you God of vengeance, shine forth! 2 Rise up, O judge of the earth; give to the proud what they deserve! 3 O Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked exult?
4 They pour out their arrogant words; all the evildoers boast. 5 They crush your people, O Lord, and afflict your heritage. 6 They kill the widow and the stranger, they murder the orphan, 7 and they say, “The Lord does not see; the God of Jacob does not perceive.”
8 Understand, O dullest of the people; fools, when will you be wise? 9 He who planted the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see? 10 He who disciplines the nations, he who teaches knowledge to humankind, does he not chastise? 11 The Lord knows our thoughts,[a] that they are but an empty breath.
12 Happy are those whom you discipline, O Lord, and whom you teach out of your law, 13 giving them respite from days of trouble, until a pit is dug for the wicked. 14 For the Lord will not forsake his people; he will not abandon his heritage; 15 for justice will return to the righteous, and all the upright in heart will follow it.
16 Who rises up for me against the wicked? Who stands up for me against evildoers? 17 If the Lord had not been my help, my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence. 18 When I thought, “My foot is slipping,” your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. 19 When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul. 20 Can wicked rulers be allied with you, those who contrive mischief by statute? 21 They band together against the life of the righteous, and condemn the innocent to death. 22 But the Lord has become my stronghold, and my God the rock of my refuge. 23 He will repay them for their iniquity and wipe them out for their wickedness; the Lord our God will wipe them out.
Psalm 95
A Call to Worship and Obedience
1 O come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! 2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! 3 For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. 4 In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. 5 The sea is his, for he made it, and the dry land, which his hands have formed.
6 O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker! 7 For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.
O that today you would listen to his voice! 8 Do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness, 9 when your ancestors tested me, and put me to the proof, though they had seen my work. 10 For forty years I loathed that generation and said, “They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they do not regard my ways.” 11 Therefore in my anger I swore, “They shall not enter my rest.”

2 Chronicles 29:1-3
Reign of Hezekiah
29 Hezekiah began to reign when he was twenty-five years old; he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Abijah daughter of Zechariah. 2 He did what was right in the sight of the Lord, just as his ancestor David had done.

2 Chronicles 30
The Great Passover
30 Hezekiah sent word to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the Lord at Jerusalem, to keep the passover to the Lord the God of Israel. 2 For the king and his officials and all the assembly in Jerusalem had taken counsel to keep the passover in the second month 3 (for they could not keep it at its proper time because the priests had not sanctified themselves in sufficient number, nor had the people assembled in Jerusalem). 4 The plan seemed right to the king and all the assembly. 5 So they decreed to make a proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beer-sheba to Dan, that the people should come and keep the passover to the Lord the God of Israel, at Jerusalem; for they had not kept it in great numbers as prescribed. 6 So couriers went throughout all Israel and Judah with letters from the king and his officials, as the king had commanded, saying, “O people of Israel, return to the Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, so that he may turn again to the remnant of you who have escaped from the hand of the kings of Assyria. 7 Do not be like your ancestors and your kindred, who were faithless to the Lord God of their ancestors, so that he made them a desolation, as you see. 8 Do not now be stiff-necked as your ancestors were, but yield yourselves to the Lord and come to his sanctuary, which he has sanctified forever, and serve the Lord your God, so that his fierce anger may turn away from you. 9 For as you return to the Lord, your kindred and your children will find compassion with their captors, and return to this land. For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him.”
10 So the couriers went from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, and as far as Zebulun; but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them. 11 Only a few from Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem. 12 The hand of God was also on Judah to give them one heart to do what the king and the officials commanded by the word of the Lord.
13 Many people came together in Jerusalem to keep the festival of unleavened bread in the second month, a very large assembly. 14 They set to work and removed the altars that were in Jerusalem, and all the altars for offering incense they took away and threw into the Wadi Kidron. 15 They slaughtered the passover lamb on the fourteenth day of the second month. The priests and the Levites were ashamed, and they sanctified themselves and brought burnt offerings into the house of the Lord. 16 They took their accustomed posts according to the law of Moses the man of God; the priests dashed the blood that they received[a] from the hands of the Levites. 17 For there were many in the assembly who had not sanctified themselves; therefore the Levites had to slaughter the passover lamb for everyone who was not clean, to make it holy to the Lord. 18 For a multitude of the people, many of them from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet they ate the passover otherwise than as prescribed. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, “The good Lord pardon all 19 who set their hearts to seek God, the Lord the God of their ancestors, even though not in accordance with the sanctuary’s rules of cleanness.” 20 The Lord heard Hezekiah, and healed the people. 21 The people of Israel who were present at Jerusalem kept the festival of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness; and the Levites and the priests praised the Lord day by day, accompanied by loud instruments for the Lord. 22 Hezekiah spoke encouragingly to all the Levites who showed good skill in the service of the Lord. So the people ate the food of the festival for seven days, sacrificing offerings of well-being and giving thanks to the Lord the God of their ancestors.
23 Then the whole assembly agreed together to keep the festival for another seven days; so they kept it for another seven days with gladness. 24 For King Hezekiah of Judah gave the assembly a thousand bulls and seven thousand sheep for offerings, and the officials gave the assembly a thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep. The priests sanctified themselves in great numbers. 25 The whole assembly of Judah, the priests and the Levites, and the whole assembly that came out of Israel, and the resident aliens who came out of the land of Israel, and the resident aliens who lived in Judah, rejoiced. 26 There was great joy in Jerusalem, for since the time of Solomon son of King David of Israel there had been nothing like this in Jerusalem. 27 Then the priests and the Levites stood up and blessed the people, and their voice was heard; their prayer came to his holy dwelling in heaven.

1 Corinthians 7:32-40
32 I want you to be free from anxieties. The unmarried man is anxious about the affairs of the Lord, how to please the Lord; 33 but the married man is anxious about the affairs of the world, how to please his wife, 34 and his interests are divided. And the unmarried woman and the virgin are anxious about the affairs of the Lord, so that they may be holy in body and spirit; but the married woman is anxious about the affairs of the world, how to please her husband. 35 I say this for your own benefit, not to put any restraint upon you, but to promote good order and unhindered devotion to the Lord.
36 If anyone thinks that he is not behaving properly toward his fiancée,[a] if his passions are strong, and so it has to be, let him marry as he wishes; it is no sin. Let them marry. 37 But if someone stands firm in his resolve, being under no necessity but having his own desire under control, and has determined in his own mind to keep her as his fiancée,[b] he will do well. 38 So then, he who marries his fiancée[c] does well; and he who refrains from marriage will do better.
39 A wife is bound as long as her husband lives. But if the husband dies,[d] she is free to marry anyone she wishes, only in the Lord. 40 But in my judgment she is more blessed if she remains as she is. And I think that I too have the Spirit of God.

7 “Do not judge, so that you may not be judged. 2 For with the judgment you make you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. 3 Why do you see the speck in your neighbor’s[a] eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your neighbor,[b] ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ while the log is in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your neighbor’s[c] eye.
Profaning the Holy
6 “Do not give what is holy to dogs; and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under foot and turn and maul you.
Ask, Search, Knock
7 “Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 Is there anyone among you who, if your child asks for bread, will give a stone? 10 Or if the child asks for a fish, will give a snake? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
The Golden Rule
12 “In everything do to others as you would have them do to you; for this is the law and the prophets.

A Jotunn, a Pirate, and a Wraith walk into the DC Universe-
Debated making this it's own post, but since it's been put up on Ao3 I might as well.
Part 2 (and one really, this started as an addition) , Ao3
Danny has an Ice Core. He isn't aware of it, but this does, in fact, greatly influence how his ghost form looks as he grows up. A ghosts Core is essential to how they mature as a ghost, after all. A speculative piece on the group's possible Adult Ghost Appearances as they grow up. (Yes Dan too)
The summoning ritual was finished, and John braced himself for Klarion's imminent arrival. Bruce could only hope that what the mage had to offer would be considered valuable enough for the chaos demon's assistance.
But something was off.
Instead of the burst of hot air that so often heralded Klarion's arrival, there was a silent rush of cold.
And someone much more intimidating stepped through.
The man's hair was white, his eyes were a pale, glowing, piercing green, and his skin was as pale as the snow that had started to fall. Taller than Superman, quieter than Batman.
He wore a furred mantle that bore no resemblance to any animal Bruce knew of. His hair was braided out of his face, his armor bore shimmering Ancient Nordic designs that were so old, Bruce couldn't find a single rune he knew.
Hovering above the man's head was a crown of solid, glittering ice. It sloped and spiked, and every movement shook snow from it's small peaks. Above that, hovering between reality and a dream, a miniature Aurora Borealis flickered in and out of view.
The crown was less a crown and more a small group of mountains, plucked from Norway and shrunk into something befitting the being in front of them.
Looking upon him forced Bruce to confront his own mortality, because this entity was dripping with lethality. Not the type he was used to, not the kind that could be met with the cold steel of a blade or the sudden, numbing hot-cold pain of a bullet.
The kind of mortality that he feared.
The quiet death in the wilds; alone, hungry, and scared.
Staring at the being that had been summoned, Bruce was struck with the feeling that he was watching a wolf as it observed him. Patient. Cold.
Knowing that no matter what it did, it was going to get a free meal if it only took a day or two to wait.
Bruce was broken from that silent, obtrusive knowledge when the entity looked away from him, eyes searching the battlefield.
Then the being took a silent step forward, ice tendrils branching out from where he stepped, his eyes having entirely fixated on the Mage that had summoned him.
The cultists that had been working for Nergal slowly turned and started standing in line with the Justice League, prepared to defend against...this.
Whatever this was.
Constantine backed away slowly, swearing under his breath and shaking.
The entity looked towards the cultists, letting out a small, disdainful hum.
As one, the cultists bolted, leaving behind their tools and sacrifices to summon their false god.
The Justice League, far too preoccupied with whatever was in front of them, couldn't do much to stop them.
The being took a deep breath and sighed through his nose, causing a gust of wind cold enough to make Bruce's skin sting.
"Well, this is awkward," the being sighed, rubbing the back of his neck, "Uh...did you guys need me for something? I was kind of in the middle of hiding from the Observants."
Bruce's brain paused. Rewound.
Restarted.
Assessed.
Oh God this was another Clark; frightening stature, polite, down to earth nature.
"I'm sorry, hiding from the who?" Bruce heart himself ask faintly, as he forced his body to understand that he wasn't in any present danger from the...person in front of him. The man turned his attention from the wheezing magician and back on Bruce.
"Kinda like a council, super annoying, keep trying to make me do paperwork."
"I...see. We were actually trying to reach Klarion, is he unavailable?"
The man sucked in air through his teeth and rested his hands on his hips, scuffing one of his shoes on the ground.
"Oof, yeah; Klarions a little bit in Time Prison right now. Genuinely didn't think anyone wanted to willingly deal with him, or I woulda sent you guys like, a note or something. Want me to just do what you were gonna have him do?"
Constantine stared at Bruce with wide, terrified eyes and shook his head.
Bruce considered it.
"What price would you have? We wanted the cultists captured and their artifacts broken."
Constantine graduated to desperately crossing his arms in an "X". Superman was looking at Bruce like he was insane. Bruce ignored them.
"Uh...my little sister is actually a huge Static Shock fan. Any chance of an autograph?"
"I can arrange that."
I highly advise reading the original prompt, as it has many additions from other writers and artists. It also has fanart!
