Just hit me that when Crowley found Aziraphale’s bookshop on fire he actually thought that Hell got to Aziraphale and killed him with Hellfire. And after pining over Aziraphale, Aziraphale pushing him away, countless dinners over thousands of years, Crowley still didn’t get what he wanted and his best friend died and he was literally alone in the world. And that world was ending.

And despite all of these things, despite the fact that he was ready to run away, despite the fact that he thought Aziraphale was dead and he literally had no one, he still went to save the world. He still took Agnes’ book in hopes there was a way.

I do wonder what Crowley would have done if Aziraphale had actually died, and not shimmered in front of him at that bar. Would the world have ended? And after six thousand years, Crowley would have been alone at the end of it all.
