महेश कुमार साहू /रायपुर। Train Cancelled: छत्तीसगढ़ से गुजरने वाली कई ट्रेनों को रेलवे ने एक बार फिर रद्द कर दिया है। रायपुर मंडल के अंतर्गत आने वाले कुम्हारी और भिलाई के बीच ऑटोमेटिक सिग्नलिंग के साथ ही अपग्रेडेशन का काम होगा। रेलवे का यह काम 21 जनवरी की सुबह 9 बजे से 22 जनवरी की शाम 6 बजे तक होगा।

Train Cancelled: इस वजह से रेलवे ने रायपुर, दुर्ग और डोंगरगढ़ से चलने वाली 13 मेमू पैसेंजर ट्रेनों को रद्द और 3 को बीच में समाप्त करने का निर्णय लिया है। लोकल ट्रेनों को रद्द होने से दुर्ग-भिलाई से रायपुर आने वाले यात्रियों को काफी दिक्कतों का सामना करना पड़ेगा। इसके साथ ही अयोध्या धाम और अयोध्या कैंट स्टेशन पर अपग्रेडेशन का काम करेगा। इस वजह से दुर्ग-नौतनवा एक्सप्रेस परिवर्तित मार्ग से होकर चलेगी।

The “Tang Ping” Generation .

People like the CEO of Pristyn Care or Bombay Shaving Company might well have started all this. He advised the Gen Z to work for at least 18 hours a day during their initial formative years to realise their full potential and quickly rise up the corporate ladder.

Backlash was quick from the Netizens and they trolled and branded him a Slave Driver. In some other times, people might have heard his advices patiently, but the Gen Z, stung by the Corona badly, are in no mood for a hard toil.

On the reverse, the Gen Z are seriously mulling over the “Quiet Quitting”, which ultimately converted to the “Great Resignation” wave of 2021, skewing the attrition rates of several Organisation.

“Quiet Quitting”is a pattern of behaviour in which employees shun extra work, they just follow the 9 to 5 routine and log out from the work on time.

They have no organisational ambitions left and like to devote more time to their families and to themselves. It was an old and dying behaviour pattern but Corona gave it a shot of life and revived it.

People thought over their priorities during the lockdown phases and some decided on “Quiet Quitting” to have a better work life balance. The Chinese too invented their own “Tang Ping”or “Lying Flat”, reaction to their post Corona 996 ( working 9 AM to 9 PM, for 6 days in a week !) work schedule.

The “Quiet Quitting” and the “Tang Ping” brought about the “Great Resignation” wave. The five R’s, that depict the instances that led to the “Great Resignation”, are the desires for Retirement,Relocation, Reconsideration,Reshuffling and Reluctance.

But what about us, the “We Indians” ?? We are traditionally growing at a rate which is euphemistically known as the Hindu Rate of Growth. The work culture prevalent in some of our states prompted Noel Coward to write the lines :

“ In the mangrove swamps/

Where the python romps/

There is peace from twelve till two/

Even caribous,

Lie around and snooze/

For there's nothing else

To do/

in Bengal, to move

At all is seldom, if ever done/

But mad dogs and Englishmen

Go out in the midday sun..”/

Well, the Englishmen might have left, but the average pace of us Indians is still “Lahe- Lahe” as the Assamese say ! We have no ‘996’ punishing routine and, so far, we are immune to the “Quiet Quitting”, “Tang Ping” and the “Great Resignation”. The burgeoning army of the unemployed at present appears to be a strong deterrent to the wannabe burnt outs !

But given our propensity for aping the west, the same 996 punishing routine might soon become the new norms. Our Gen Z be better prepared for this. To those who are not suited for or inclined to this harsh work cycle, may dally with the alternative avenues of choice available for the qualified and the talented.

Let the ambitious ones take on the harsh, stressful jobs and so the world may see whether the meek really inherits the Earth !
