Warning long post/ rant about Colleen Ballinger. If you don’t want to read this then please feel free to ignore but if you want to rant away with me then be my guest. If you guys know what’s going on and have opinions then let me know. Let’s talk about her shit show of an apology.
First of all the whole thing was just clearly aimed towards her young fans to make them feel bad for her, she did it in a song to make it easer to consume and unfortunately it’s kinda catchy so it’s going to be stuck in everyone’s heads. Children are so impressionable. The human brain doesn’t actually fully develop until your mid 20s so you can only imagine how the brain might be working at ages 9-16 (I don’t know how old her youngest fans are)
“Toxic gossip train. Chugging down the tracks of misinformation”
Where? What misinformation? Your giving us no evidence! Explain it to us then?
“Tie me to the tracks and harass me for my past, these rumours look like facts of you don’t mind the gaps I won’t survive in the crash, but hey least your having fun”
Stop with the woahs me attitude. If they’re as you say rumours then why is there photo/video evidence of the things you’ve done and said? What gaps? Are we talking about how in your first apology video you made it out that Adam asked you for the underwear and it was his fault? Not that you and Corey literally asked if he wanted them? Oh and even if you were joking around why did it never occur after that sending a 14 year old underwear (no matter your age) is fucking weird? How did that not cross your mind when you had weeks to think about it. You even said his parents would think it’s weird so why do it? Also who the hell is having fun? I know Adam isn’t and Becky and anyone else you’ve hurt.
“Today I only want to talk about the facts”
Well where are they? You didn’t tell us anything except you want a pitty party!
“Many years ago I used to message my fans, but not in a creepy way… more of a looser type of way”
Errr that’s still creepy, wanting to best friends with under 18 year olds when your 30 odd….. did that not cross your mind? Oh wait no of course it didn’t.
“I haven’t done that for years you see… I took accountability”
Weren’t you in a group chat with miners up until like a week ago? Oh and when did you take accountability?
“The train is made of lies”
Wait so we’re they mistakes or lies?
“I would never make a mistake like that”
Your right we wouldn’t because we know talking to underage children is wrong whether your intention is ‘innocent’ or not because it isn’t. There’s a huge power dynamic at play that I can’t see that you weren’t aware of or if not you someone around you.
“She did some things I do not like in her past so everybody gather round because we’re about to attack but not based of facts”
Ohhhh so you didn’t ask Adam (a miner at the time) to send a pic of his ass? Oh wait…
Well you didn’t tell these kids all about your messy divorce did you? Ah ok erm….
Ok but you definitely didn’t talk about your husband penis size…Ah shit.
Hmmm ok then these one is a no brainier. You definitely didn’t ask KIDS favourite sex positions because everyone knows that you just don’t do that… oh you did? Oh
Let’s move on shall we?
“I also wanted to take a moment to talk about the Miranda girl…. shes PG13…..that’s why you won’t find my videos on the YouTube Kids app”
Erm I think you’ll find that you can find Miranda content under ages 5-8 so before you tell us these ‘facts’ maybe you want to check them out first. Just a thought?
“Was it my intention to manipulate”
Ah so you admit doing that?
“I’m not a groomer, I’m just a looser”
Your both. Grooming someone doesn’t always have to be sexual. Also imagine if that will hold up in court!
“I’m not a predator even though a lot of you think so, because 5 years ago I made a far joke”
It wasn’t just a fart joke. You asked an underaged girl to come up on stage. She was wearing a romper and you spread her legs. At no point did you or any other adult stop it or even try to protect this young girl at all. She said she felt violated and awful and your just say with your ukulele undermining what YOU put her through calling it a FART JOKE. It’s not a joke. None of this is and anyone who thought this was ok is sick!
“I never had any bad intentions, but I do feel like shit”
Oh well then we all forgive you for being inappropriate with minors in privet group chats and on your YouTube channels.
I haven’t even spoken about half the other shit that she’s done like letting a 9 year old put his hands down her trousers for a ‘bit’ or how horrible her book is, or how she laughed about having to have her dog out to sleep. This whole thing was just a slap in the face. I felt like she wasn’t being serious at all! To all of you who have been effected by Colleens harmful decisions, I am so sorry and so proud of all of you who have shared your experience. To those not ready that’s ok don’t feel pressured to have to open up about anything you don’t want to.
I’m going to leave some videos and channels to check out about this. The first one is SWOOPs deep dive which will have a hell a lot of sources and information. Sending you all positive thoughts!

How to Maintain a Balanced Diet as a Vegetarian or Vegan
As a vegetarian or vegan, it's important to ensure that you're getting all the necessary nutrients for a balanced diet. Here are some tips to help you maintain a healthy and balanced diet:
Include a variety of plant-based protein sources: This can include tofu, tempeh, lentils, beans, peas, chickpeas, nuts, and seeds.
Make sure to get enough iron: Iron-rich plant-based foods include fortified cereals, legumes, dark leafy greens, and dried fruit. Eating iron-rich foods with vitamin C-rich foods can also help increase iron absorption.
Include calcium-rich foods: Calcium is important for strong bones and teeth. Calcium-rich plant-based foods include fortified plant milks and juices, tofu, almonds, and dark leafy greens.
Get enough B12: B12 is a nutrient that is only naturally found in animal products. Vegetarian and vegan diets may be lacking in this essential nutrient, so it's important to include fortified foods, such as plant milks, nutritional yeast, or supplements.
Don't forget about healthy fats: Healthy fats are important for overall health, and can be found in foods like avocados, nuts, seeds, and olive oil.
Eat a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables: This will help ensure you're getting a wide range of nutrients and antioxidants.
Plan your meals: Taking the time to plan your meals can help you ensure that you're getting all the necessary nutrients each day. Consider using a meal planning app or working with a registered dietitian to create a balanced meal plan.

Happy 2023~~
After a long hiatus, I’m back and thinking about games (mostly HLITF) more in a general sense. Not only am I over the freakin’ moon about Kurosawa finally getting his redemption updates, I’m also seriously feeling appreciative towards the sheer amount of work that people in the industry go through to get these games out to people. They deserve way more thanks than a lot of fans seem to post in their in-game/social media comments.
I think a lot of otome fans forget that these apps are made by and for Japanese fans first - then get translated into English if they’re popular enough with the Japanese fans. It’s not cheap getting stuff translated (especially on the level that some games strive for - have you ever tried Court of Darkness?! New words every friggin’ story!) and it takes time to polish everything. Not to mention all the other work that goes into the games.
The other thing people forget is that if a game doesn’t sell in Japanese or English (or any other language for that matter) then it’s done for. No matter how awesome it might be, you can’t keep games going without an influx of cash - and if the fans love something but won’t pay for it, well... As people often say, love doesn’t pay the bills. Can you imagine the pressure they must be under with all this inflation and rising costs of literally everything?
Okay, rant over. Time to share the torture my friend inflicted on me.
The above video is a fairly old song by now, by the band Bump of Chicken, entitled 「天体観測」(Tentai Kansoku, Astronomical Observation). It’s a cute song, very catchy and...
“It’s like watching Tsugaru’s childhood before everything goes wrong.”

Tumblr media
part one | part two | part three
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"Hey baby won't you look my way?
I can be your new addiction,"
There it goes again, the annoying song that he was already very familiarized with as it was the very same song that his soulmate had been listening non-stop for the past few days. Iwaizumi Hajime doesn't know if his soulmate had a different time zone than his (thirteen hours difference to be exact) or just a psychopath listening to the loud song for the whole night that the dark haired male could barely sleep. And it had been almost a week already!
"Hey baby what you gotta say?
All you're giving me is fiction,"
Hajime doesn't even understood the song that much despite it's catchy tune. It was in, on what he assumed, was english. Yes, it was very catchy song at first as the beat was very enjoyable and the singer had a nice voice— but listening to the song for almost one week straight? It can drive anyone insane. And Iwaizumi Hajime had to deal with listening to the song over and over again in non-stop repeat because of his (probably) psychopath soulmate listen to it in full volume.
"I'm a sorry sucker and this happens all the time,"
The dark haired male was rather a bit thankful that the volume of the song he was hearing was a bit bearable as whatever song anyone's soulmate was listening too, it was projected to the other about only eighty percent the noise. Still, the song was loud and Hajime wonders if his soulmate would go deaf with how loud the song was playing on their end. Well, if they weren't going deaf already.
"I found out that everybody talks,
Everybody talks, everybody talks,
It started with a whisper!"
Sighing, Hajime stared at the ceiling of his room, a small frown on his lips. God, his soulmate was lowkey an asshole for making him listen to the same song over and over again for the past few days. If he ever finds his soulmate, the dark haired male was sure to beat them up— or at least, be angry at them for making him listen to a song that he could barely sleep.
"And that was when I kissed her!
And then she made my lips hurt!"
Looking at the alarm clock on top of his nightstand beside his bed, the dark haired male let out another annoyed grunt as he saw the time. It was already midnight and he still had school to attend to tomorrow. Not to mention volleyball practice early in the morning aswell.
God, for a moment, Hajime hated the soulmate bond so, so much.
"I could hear the chit chat!
Take me to your love shack!"
But Iwaizumi Hajime also remembered that his soulmate rather had a nice taste in music that even made him listen to his soulmates favorite bands— or at least he assumes they were their favorite bands.
Hajime was stuck with the soulmate bond that let's him hear the song what his soulmate was listening too, and it reminded the dark haired male that his soulmate was somehow sharing a part of themselves to him.
"Mamas always gotta back track!
When everybody talks back!"
Sighing again, Hajime wished he would just smack his soulmate right now.

"Hey honey you could be my drug?
You could be my new prescription,"
Hajime let out an annoyed grunt as he just finished serving and stood outside the court. It was unfortunately out of bounds as he put too much pressure on hitting the ball, but Hajime could barely care about it right now.
"Too much could be an overdose!
All this trash talk make me itchin'!"
Jesus fucking Christ, it was practically by the end of the day, but his soulmate was still listening to the song? The dark haired male now fully believed his soulmate was a psychopath. Period.
"Oh my, my,
Everybody talks, everybody talks,
Everybody talks, too much..."
"Woah, losing your edge there ace!" Hajime turned his head to whoever had said those words and saw it was a fellow third year and (unfortunately) friend of his, Hanamaki Takahiro. The light brown (pink-ish?) haired male had an eyebrow raised towards him but an amused smirk on his lips with his arms crossed over his chest.
"You okay there? Or are you getting old already?" Takahiro snickered as Hajime rolled his eyes at the wing spiker. The light brown (salmon???) haired player was always a bit of a tease along with another third year, Matsukawa Issei. Speaking of the middle blocker, it seemed like the black haired middle blocker also decided to come and join on annoying the dark haired ace.
"You've been also more annoyed than usual," Issei pointed out as he stood next to his light brown (pastel pink???) haired friend with his arms crossed on his chest aswell. "Love the eye bags, by the way," Issei continued as he grinned while Takahiro snickered more at his comment.
"Oh, shut up," Hajime had grunted as he rubbed the temple on his head. The dark haired ace was already tired from the lack of sleep and practicing volleyball even if he do love the sport. He can't deal with his teams bullshit right now.
"Iwa-chan can't sleep because of his soulmate!" Yelled the volleyball captain of the males volleyball club of Aoba Johsai, Oikawa Tōru, who was unfortunately the dark haired male's best friend since childhood from across the court. How did he know what the three were talking about? No one would ever know other than knowing the captain enjoyed gossip and doesn't care if he even gets caught listening to conversations that doesn't include him. Oikawa Tōru had no shame.
Sighing again, Hajime was so fucking done. Of course the chocolate brown haired male would know about his soulmate problem even if he doesn't say anything about it. For some odd reason, Tōru had a sixth sense with him and his soulmate. How annoying.
"Because of your soulmate...?" Takahiro asked, confused. The confusion on his face was immediately then replaced with an amused look as a shit eating grin was replaced the smirk on his lips. Hajime already felt the headache coming.
"That's pretty kinky, not gonna lie," Takahiro said with no shame whatsoever. Obviously his imaginations running wild from the chocolate brown haired male's shout about Hajime and his soulmate. Issei could only chuckle at his friend's words as they both look at the dark haired ace who was slowly losing his sanity and patience.
"But seriously, Iwaizumi. What's the deal with your soulmate?" Issei asked. Finally something Hajime could actually answer and not be teased by the assholes that he calls his teammates and friends. Unfortunately.
"The dumbass hasn't stopped listening to this one song for almost a week now," Hajime grunted as he could still hear the said song in his mind.
"It started with a whisper!
And that was when I kissed her!
And then she made my lips hurt!"
"Really?" Takahiro said, a bit surprised that a measly song would annoy the dark haired ace. Sure, Iwaizumi Hajime was a bit of a hot headed person but he was a hot headed person who can control his temper— unless it's with Oikawa Tōru, then Hajime would not hesitate to beat the shit outta the chocolate haired captain.
"What's so bad with the song?" And it seemed like the black haired middle blocker agreed aswell as Issei asked that question. The taller male didn't know if he should congratulate their ace's soulmate for making the dark haired male so annoyed and irritated for the past few days or feel bad for Hajime.
"The song isn't the problem," Hajime huffed as he saw both Takahiro and Issei look at him with raised brows. Clearly wanting him to elaborate more since they were confused. Sighing, the dark haired male decided to just come out with it. "They just have been playing the song non-stop and it's driving me insane."
"I could hear the chit chat!
Take me to your love shack!"
"What's the song?" The light brown (peach?!?) haired male had asked. Curious on what Hajime's soulmate was listening to. Can you blame him though? Their ace seemed to be a bit secretive with his soulmate, even if they had been teammates and friends for years. Iwaizumi Hajime didn't seemed to like talking about his soulmate, either it be him not liking them or just likes his privacy. It was probably the latter but who knows?
Sighing again, Hajime gestured the two to follow him to the changing room. The practice was almost over anyways and both Takahiro and Issei had finished their serves earlier ago aswell. The dark haired ace was going to let the two third years hear the song he had been listening to for the past few days with his phone. Hajime, after all, downloaded the song his soulmate had been listening to non-stop.

"Mamas always gotta back track!
When everybody talks back!"
Arriving at the changing room with the two males tagging along, Hajime wasted no time going to his assigned locker and opened it up. Taking out his phone and unlocking it, Hajime immediately then went to his music app and searched the song his soulmate had forced him to listen to for almost a week.
"Never thought I'd live to see the day,
When everybody's words got in the way!"
Finding the song, the dark haired ace turned to both his friend and gave them a blank expression as he hit play on the song.
The familiar intro of the song played loud on the device's speaker and it didn't take long for the singer started singing the song that Hajime was song he could sing along perfectly from how much he had heard the song already. The dark haired male had practically memorized the lyrics of the song already and he wasn't even kidding.
"Woah," Issei whistled as he look at the song that was playing in Hajime's phone more closely. "Damn ace, you're soulmate has taste!" The black haired male said. Rather surprised and impressed to the song Hajime's soulmate taste in music.
"It's in english too," Takahiro pointed out. He then turned to look at Issei who looked at him aswell. The two seemed to be communicating without even saying anything, but seeing the furrowed eyebrows and small frown on their lips, Hajime knew what they were thinking.
"Your soulmate is probably in a foreign country..." Takahiro said as he looked back at the dark haired ace. A bit worried but the wing spiker seemed to force a grin on his lips. "That's so cool!"
"Yeah, you're pretty lucky to get a foreign soulmate ace," Issei said. "Imagine getting help with english!" The black haired male chuckled. The two friends continued on listing the positives of having a soulmate who can talk in english and joking about it.
The dark haired ace didn't seemed to listen to the two though.
Hajime knew that there was a huge possibility that his soulmate was in another country than where he was. Soulmates were rarely even in the same cities most of the time, so Hajime fully knows about him maybe not meeting his soulmate. Still, it still hurts to think that his soulmate was far away from him and probably would not meet.
Iwaizumi Hajime didn't considered himself as a hopeless romantic, but it had always been his dream to meet the other person who he had sharing music to since he was seven years old.
There were two reasons why Hajime hated sharing about his soulmates music taste. First was that it hurts to be reminded that Hajime would only hear the song his soulmate was listening to and most of the time those songs were in english and were too loud for his liking. Sure, his soulmate listened to some mellow song aswell like lo-fi and even taking note on songs he listened too aswell, but his soulmate seemed to enjoy the upbeat and loud ones a lot.
Second was that Hajime felt like the music he listened from his soulmate were sacred. It was a silly thing to think but for the dark haired ace, the music and songs his soulmate was listening too, it was only for him to listen to and only him alone.
God, perhaps Iwaizumi Hajime was a hopeless romantic. Or at least, a little bit of a hopeless romantic with how he thinks about some dumb songs his soulmate was listening too.

Yahaba’s Type - Yahaba x Reader (Part 2 of 2)
[Masterlist]
[Part 1] [Part 2]
Summary:
Although Y/n was known as the clown friend, she wasn’t very comfortable around Yahaba. But that started to change when she saw him awkwardly practising his tosses by himself.
Tumblr media
Match-up Request:
Hi I’m here for a match up request~ I’m tall (about 1.80) with blonde middle length hair & light brown eyes I’m a bit plump (usually thin but lately I’ve put on some weight) & sometimes I get self conscious about it 😬 been playing volleyball for 10 years as a middle blocker & my team’s ace ☺️ I also enjoy drawing a lot whenever I have free time Im THAT clown friend who gets really happy whenever people laugh with my jokes & I try to cheer people up that way whenever I see someone being down -🦋
So I found out that actually can save my answers as drafts (but only in the app??). *shrugs* Still learning how to use Tumblr.
Yahaba’s Type - Yahaba x Reader
Words: 2,066
Yahaba took a glance at the second floor before their practice match had started. As they warmed up for the match, he felt like his serves and sets were on point today. He was glad that his setting practice with Y/n had paid off. Chiaki and Y/n decided to watch their game today when Chiaki heard about it. She wanted to know what kind of teammates Kyotani had and wondered how they treated him. Y/n came along as well, which was probably the first time she had ever watched their games. But there were times when he wondered if she should have come.
The match started off with Yahaba’s serve. After bouncing the ball a couple of times, he threw the ball in front of him and ran up to it for his jump serve. But as it hit the top of the net, he held his breath until the volleyball had fallen onto the opponent’s side of the court. He let out a sigh of relief. But that didn’t last long because he heard Y/n shouting at the top of her lungs. “Kya~~! You’re so cool, Yahaba!”
Yahaba quickly turned his head up to her direction to see her laughing her head off. He got a bit annoyed at her since he knew she was just messing around. She wouldn’t have been impressed by his jump serve because she knew how to do one as well. Also, getting a point from a net serve already wasn’t very cool in itself. She was probably just mimicking Oikawa’s fan girls that he had told her about. Now he regretted ever telling her about them.
He gave her a smirk just before his next serve. He made sure she was still watching him. His next serve was a powerful one that he aimed at the other team’s spike-haired libero. When the libero missed his serve, he gave Y/n a smug grin. In response, she gave him a thumbs up and smiled.
“Well someone is showing off again,” said Kindaichi. Yahaba straightened up, remembering that he was in the middle of a match.
“What did you expect?” commented Kunimi. “He’s always been like that.”
As Yahaba got the ball back and walked back to the serving line, Y/n yelled out, “You’d better not miss your next serve!” She then said with a laugh, “Otherwise I’ll expose all of your secrets!”
Yahaba flinched at the thought. He didn’t want his team to know how much he had been practising outside of their usual practices.
“Since when have they been close?” Watari asked Kyotani. He just shrugged in response.
Yahaba didn’t expect them to notice that they were more comfortable with each other now. But with how Y/n was treating him, he shouldn’t have been surprised. The two of them had unintentionally continued to practise with each other for the past few months. He wasn’t planning on continuing their practices together, but he saw how much he had improved because of them.
When their opponents were able to get their first point, Seijoh got ready to receive their serve and attack. But when Yahaba set the ball to Kyotani, it was too high for him to reach. Luckily, Kunimi was somehow able to cover for him, even though it gave the other team a chance ball.
The next few times Yahaba tried to set, he kept on messing up. His fingers felt stiff. He didn’t know what was wrong because he had felt great during the warm up. Yahaba started to feel frustrated because he knew he was failing his team and they needed him. He was now their starting setter and captain. How were they supposed to beat Karasuno the next time around if he was already screwing up this match? He started to wonder if all of the extra practice with Y/n was useless.
Suddenly, he heard Y/n yell out a cheer. “Go, go, let’s go, let’s go, Dateko!”
The court was silent as they stared at the second floor to where Y/n stood. The Seijoh players were the first to break the silence with their laughter.
“What the heck is wrong with her?” said Kindaichi while he laughed hard enough for tears to come out of his eyes.
“Not only is she not cheering for us, but we’re not even playing against Dateko!” added Watari as he held his stomach while laughing.
Yahaba covered his laughter with his mouth. He also found it hilarious but he was equally embarrassed by her. She must have noticed that he was starting to panic. The rest of the team was doing well except for him
As the rest of the court continued to laugh, Y/n justified her actions by saying that their cheer was catchy. She even sang along when her own team played a match against them. She thought it was a lot better than their school’s cheer.
Yahaba then saw the referee remove the whistle from her mouth and turned to Y/n. “Y/n! If you disrupt this match again, you’ll be kicked out and you’ll have to run a hundred laps around the school during next practice!”
Y/n stood up straight and replied, “Yes, ma'am!” She pretended to zip her mouth to show that she had understood.
“I forgot that we got the girls’ team’s coach as the ref,” Kindaichi mentioned to Kunimi.
“If she’s the team’s captain, it must be pretty chaotic with her there,” added Kunimi.
Yahaba felt a bit of second-hand embarrassment from what Y/n just did. But because of her joke, he was able to calm down.
He realized how cold his fingers were. As he breathed on his hands, he remembered when he had jammed his fingers at the community center. Y/n had taken his hands and worried over them. He remembered how soft and warm her hands had been. So even though Yahaba had been trying to warm up his hands, he felt his cheeks heat up instead.
After the practice match had ended, Yahaba walked off the court and grabbed his water bottle for a drink. Y/n walked down from the second floor and the tall middle blocker from the other team approached her.
“We should go to the udon place that’s nearby,” stated the intimidating guy with a large build.
“Oh,” said Y/n with a nervous smile. “I’m not really interested.”
“But it’s really good!” he continued to insist.
Yahaba walked up to the guy who was pestering Y/n and tried to stare him down even though he was more than two meters tall. “She said she’s not interested,” Yahaba sternly told him. It’s not like he hadn’t dealt with troublesome people before. He didn’t want Y/n to deal with him by herself.
“What are you doing?” asked Y/n as she raised an eyebrow. “He’s a friend from junior high.” She continued to explain that a group of them were planning a reunion. She had said she wasn’t interested because she didn’t really like udon. She was more of a rice person.
“Ugh, this is so embarrassing,” Yahaba thought to himself.
“Sorry Hyakuzawa,” Y/n apologized with a smile. Kindaichi and Kunimi snickered at Yahaba for trying to be cool. He just told them to shut up.
As Yahaba walked away from the scene, Kyotani leaned on the wall with his arms crossed. “So what happened to having a type?” he asked with a smirk. He still held a grudge against him after all these months.
“Ugh, I don’t have one, okay?” Yahaba responded in frustration.
*****
After another night at the community center, Y/n plopped on her bed out of exhaustion. Her mom scolded her to at least take a shower. She did what she was told and got ready for bed. She checked her phone and saw a couple of texts from Yahaba.
Yahaba: Did you get home okay?
Yahaba: Since you’re not replying, I’ll just go sleep now. Night.
There was also another text that had appeared about an hour later.
Yahaba: I hope you dream of me
Y/n especially blushed at the last one. She didn’t remember him being a flirt. She knew there was no way he meant that. But a silly grin still formed on her mouth as she tried to lay on her bed to sleep. Unfortunately, it turned out that she was right. The next morning she saw one more text from him.
Yababa: I’m sorry! My sister texted that! Ignore that last one!
She knew that she should have known better. She sighed. It was harder to get over her growing crush on him.
She took a second look at the texts. She realized that he must have been exhausted for his sister to have the opportunity to use his phone. She wondered if they should cut down on their practices together.
Later at school, Y/n asked Chiaki if she was still free to come over for some home karaoke. She replied that she was.
“Can I come?” asked Kyotani.
Y/n had to blink a few times before she excitedly asked, “You want to sing?! Are you serious?!”
“No, I want to watch Chiaki sing.” Kyotani replied.
“Well that makes a lot more sense,” she laughed.
“Did you want to come?” Kyotani asked Yahaba.
“Why would I want to come?” asked Yahaba.
“You should come too! It’ll be fun!” said Y/n.
Kyotani didn’t really care was his response would be so he started to walk away with Chiaki. But Yahaba decided to tag along anyway.
When they arrived at Y/n’s house, her dad greeted Yabaha. But he flinched when Kyotani realized that he had been going to the community center.
“I guess your secret is out,” laughed Y/n. Since Kyotani knew her dad as well, he nodded to greet him.
The four of them sat in the living room. Kyotani and Chiaki sat on the large couch and Yahaba took the other end. Y/n set up the karaoke machine.
Chiaki sang a ballad beautifully. Y/n belted out a different song and sung badly on purpose. “Yay! I got a 68!” cheered Y/n. Her best friend found the whole thing hilarious like usual. Yahaba wondered why he came in the first place.
When Chiaki started to whistle to one of the songs, Y/n tried to whistle too. She couldn’t whistle at all. But she was being stubborn and kept trying anyway.
“You look stupid,” said Yahaba. “You’re getting your spit everywhere.” In response, she purposely got closer to him to tease him some more. “Ugh! Stop doing that!”
But Y/n still didn’t stop. It was kind of fun annoying him and the other two found it hilarious. Yahaba didn’t know how to make her stop. So he kissed her.
Y/n froze. She didn’t understand what had just happened. Yahaba smirked at her. But then his attempt to look cool failed him and his face became just as red as hers.
“W- What was that?!” Y/n freaked out. “Why would you do that?!” She tried to cover her blush with her hands. “You should only do that to someone you like!”
Yahaba looked away as he replied, “So it’s fine then.” He hid his face with his hands when Y/n realized that he admitted to liking her.
“B- But,” she continued to panic, “I’m not even your type.”
“I don’t have a type anymore,” he replied. “It’s just you.”
For once, Y/n was silent. She was trying to process the whole thing. She never expected Yahaba to like her back. She then smiled at the thought that he liked her enough for his type to be irrelevant over these past few months.
She took the seat beside him and inched a bit closer. The two still couldn’t make eye contact with each other. They both tried to steal a glance from each other, but when their eyes met, they quickly turned away again. Kyotani and Chiaki just stared at their awkwardness.
“Yahaba,” Y/n’s dad said in a deep voice. Y/n and Yahaba both flinched, not realizing that her dad was there. “I was wondering when you’d finally say something,” he said with a smirk.
*****
Extras that didn’t fit in the story:
Since Yahaba likes ikura don and Y/n likes rice dishes, they eat it all the time on dates.
Kyotani is actually pretty observant since he was conscious of his old teammates talking behind his back. But because he’s stubborn, reckless and just does his own thing anyway, it doesn’t really show through.
Chiaki is the cunning, protective type that looks innocent, but only Kyotani and Y/n know that.
I wanted Y/n to be the daughter of the guy from the community center who watched the Seijoh vs Karasuno match. But if she was, Y/n would have a (last) name. lol.
I hope you liked it! I actually had a hard time getting “clown funny” down. Other types of funny come more naturally to me (like sarcastic, teasing, and punny.) So I got some ideas from the webtoon Odd Girl Out with Mirae as a character model.
I also had a working name for Y/n because I write better that way. I might also post on fanfiction.net with the working name because they technically don’t allow reader-inserts. But I might not do it because it’s more work. lol. I actually initially started posting stories on FFN.
Check out my other stories too. :) I’m hoping to build a collection of them with all of the requests.

How to Drive Sales at Your Gas Station C-Store
When people come to a gas station to fill up their vehicles, they spend an average of three to five minutes. The duration is too much short to send an email or play your favorite game, but long enough to take a look around. It’s the perfect time to catch their attention with different types of content, including entertainment, weather reports, and eye-catchy ads.
Tumblr media
Gas stations can use this opportunity to advertise their branding, discount schemes, promotions, and any special offers they have.
Forecourt or petrol/diesel court is the perfect place to entice your customers and make an impression. However, all of this is going to happen only when people choose to come to your gas station for filling the fuel tanks of their vehicles. Thus, the first marketing strategy of a gas station store should be focused on attracting the attention of people on the road.
Know What Matters to Your Customers
The topmost factor that determines where drivers fill up the tank is the fuel price. Unsurprisingly, a significant number of people like to go to a gas station with cheap prices even if it is a bit far from the one with higher prices. So, how can you use this consumer behavior to the advantage of your gas station? Install Gas Station Price Signs!
Having signs that display current competitive pricing is a great way to attract attention because saving on fuel and grabbing the best deal is always at the forefront in the mind of consumers. When you advertise by displaying your gas station price signs at a place they are highly visible, you will eventually start seeing an increase in the number of your customers soon in the future (if your gas prices are competitive enough).
Offer Something that Encourages People to Walk In
We understand that it is difficult to change the behavior of people. If a person pulls into a gas station c-store just for a gas-filling purpose, you need to make efforts to get their attention. You can offer them something that they feel is worth walking inside.
Nowadays, customers’ expectations have changed, especially in areas with high population.
A lot of people use smartphone apps to decide which gas station convenience store best suits their needs. These apps allow people to rank gas stations based on various parameters, such as cleanliness, coffee, outdoor lighting, customer service, restrooms, and so on.
So, you should prepare your strategy accordingly and then advertise them in a lucrative way using LED signs because they are visible from far off distant places. At present, forward-thinking c-stores have already started to find ways to personalize the experience to increase customer engagement at the pump. If you have a drink offer, then also make plan-B for those who don’t want to have drinks.
Apart from this, to boost your sales at a gas station c-store, make your static environment as interesting and engaging as is your digital environment and personalize their experience by gaining insights from customer activity data. Creating good experiences help gas stations to increase their revenue. When you manage to make the customer interaction right, they are more likely to check in your store and make purchases.

University - Manchester Animation Festival - Day 5
During this week, we are attending the “Manchester Animation Festival” (Or MAF for short). During each day this week I will write a post giving my thoughts on what I watched, as well as add anything else we did such as meetings and Talks. I will also provide links to any form of clip or trailer, if I can find one.
(This Post will contain spoilers)
Student Films
The Song of a Lost Boy
Tumblr media
The Song of a Lost Boy, tells the story of a young boy who is a choir singer for a church. One day during a performance, he loses his voice causing him to be kicked out of the choir and judged by the other members, this causes him to run away. The next day he finds some traveling performers who tell him to go with them, he does just that and everything is fine, until he must do a singing solo. Filled with anxiety he runs away and ends up in a cave, where he finds his voice, the performs watch in shock and accept him in their group as they continue traveling.
This short film was good, I liked the setting of the film taking place in a dessert as it could be seen as a place of isolation and endlessness. I also enjoyed the moral of the story being, trying to find one’s self, even when you feel like you can’t, you could be something one moment then have it all taken away from you in an instant, its getting back on your feet and moving on what makes you who you are. Lastly, I liked the sense of progression from calm choir, to loud performer, showing a sense of growth for the main character throughout the story.

 Chant of The Printing Machine
Chant of The Printing Machine is a short film matching visuals to audio from an old-fashioned print machine. From start to end the Print Machine with audio create, scenery, objects and much more with its unique diverse sounds of creaks, bumps, clangs and more.
This film is a creative visual treat, based on the sounds coming from the machine and how their translated into visuals was great. I liked how Whirring sounds were visuals of two snake looking lines wriggling around the screen and when I heard a squeak the screen displayed an old looking tire. The visuals being old fashioned paper with looks to be ink on it was a nice touch, as if each frame came out of the printer itself.
 Big Fish
Big Fish is a fun musical short film about a fisherman going fishing. At first everything is normal, he sits down, ready’s his rod, places bait and catches fish, rinse and repeat. However, each action he does makes a distinct sound which becomes a short musical piece. In the end he catches something what surprises him and the film ends.
I really enjoyed the creative Foley for this film, combining and matching different sounds together to create a catchy fun tune was fun. I also like other elements, such as the bird causing pauses in the song and randomly appearing later. I also liked the message at the end of the film “Big Fish are worthy of fishing, even if you don’t catch one.” To me this means, even if you think you can’t do something, still give it a try you never know what you can do until you try it.
The Last Mother
The Last Mother tells the story in a dystopian future where the earth is nothing but scorching sands and ruins of what once was. We find a woman approaching a wilted tree with small wooden carved masks on it. She prays to the tree and she meets some golden spirits wearing the masks on the tree, with her own mask she too becomes a spirit. With the spirits power combined, they restore the earth to its original form, luscious green fields, lakes and artic weather, all the spirits around the world join together and leave the earth.
This film is interesting to me as I see this film as a sign of what will happen to the planet because of humans, but also reflecting back to what it was before civilisation. I also liked the idea of combining famous architectures, such as the Eiffel Tower in an exotic natural environment. As a final point, I liked the idea of everyone (represented by spirits) coming together and willing to let go of what once was, which is represented by all the spirits leaving earth and moving onto the other side (Possibly the afterlife).
  100,000 Acres of Pine
Tumblr media
100,000 Acres of Pine is a short horror story, about a man who goes missing and dies in a woodland national park. The man’s brother Meg who is a park ranger can’t come to terms with his death and goes in search for him, after seeing a weird figure in the forest. As she explores the woods, she finds herself in structures that were once destroyed now fixed and an old Van. Blood follows her wherever she goes and eventually finds her brother Danielle, suddenly a tree comes to life and grabs her, she escapes and finds herself back where she started.
This film gave me shivers, I have to say I was intrigued and fascinated by the direction of the story and how the story unfolded with Danielle explaining what is going on through old cassette type recordings. He was explaining what Meg was seeing without being there, meaning Meg was having an identical experience to her now deceased brother. The way the tape changes from Danielle’s voice to Meg’s voice was a really good touch too as it gave a sense that she met the same fate. The animation style also works great in this film, as the rough (but well crafted) look of the environment works great for a horror setting, as well as effective use of lighting to signify danger and normality slowing creeping in on one another with its eerie red glow.

 Pearl Diver
Tumblr media
Pearl Diver is a collection of three short stories, all of which happen between each other. The first of a hedgehog trying to keep a balloon, order to do this he shaves off his quills to not pop the balloon. The next is of a polar bear and a penguin who get separated when the small chunk of ice breaks, the polar bear finds a small engine, attaches it to his piece of ice and goes to find the penguin. The third are of two clams with pearls within them opening and closing. The polar bear finds the penguin, excited the penguin finds a pearl to thank the polar bear, but arrives too find that the polar bear has stolen her half the ice that broke. The pearl was taken from the two clams, now just one, the clam the penguin took is thrown back in ocean next to the other clam. Saddened (or shocked) the other clam loses its glow and dies. Lastly the hedgehog has popped the balloon so many times, he lets go of it and watches it float away.
This short film tells three separate messages all of which have in common the message of letting go. For the hedgehog, its learning to let go of something you love, for the clams its letting go of someone you love and for the penguin and polar bear its letting go of the trust you have with someone (at least that’s how I interpreted it). The animation and design are very nice and detailed with the polar bears fur rustling in the wind and the light from the clam’s pearls. I also liked how empty the environments where, as this can be seen as a sign of each character’s story and the thing they have, being the only thing, they have left.

 My Favourite Hill
Tumblr media
My Favourite Hill is a short film about a sentient hill, who loves people being on and around him. The people drink water from him and change cloths on him and play on him and much more. However, come night fall, everyone goes back to work in a factory situated nearby. This upsets the hill, who wants everyone to go back to him and the next day they do. Even more people arrive in cars, tour buses and more, until once again nightfall comes, and everyone leaves.
This short film is interesting in its narrative of loneliness and rejection, but most of all in its animation and design. The film is constructed out of moving pieces of art and cut pieces of paper, moved and swapped to give of the sense of movement and dialogue. An interesting choice for the story, but I also feel with the characteristics of the hill and some of the peoples actions (Such as kicking an old man to the moon before his limbs fall off) fit surprisingly well with this animation style.

 The Quiet
Tumblr media
The Quiet, is an interesting story from an astronaut stranded in outer space. He tells the story of him and his twin brother, he wanted to go to space and his brother wanted to be rich and had a love for diamonds. We are told of a robbery the brother committed at an elderly mans house, he is caught after knocking a globe over, in a blind panic he assaults the old man (implied death) with the globe and says it was self-defence, the court don’t see it that way. The brother is arrested and that’s the end of story, until the astronaut says how he misses his brother and the constellation Gemini is his favourite as its shared with him and the brother, who died at birth. It is revealed that the astronaut was actually the one committing the crimes and is arrested in a silent prison and says how the quite is terrifying.
This short film is fascinating in both its execution and story, I love the way how we are told and invested in the story between two brothers, only to have the twist reveal at the end. The moment of realisation was great, as the film goes silent for a brief moment at the reveal then escalates to reveal what really happened. The visual story telling is also really good, I love the outer space story telling for a story about theft. The way the stars align to create images and scenes is a very imaginative method of storytelling, I also liked how some Foley of everyday sounds where implemented into the stars, such as the sun being a gas cooker, or how a galaxy is matched with a light turning on.

Delphine: No Dogs
Tumblr media
Delphine: No Dogs, tells the story of a woman arriving by boat into the country with her one year old son. They find a place to stay in an apartment building of which they meet an Irish woman, the woman looks after the baby whilst the mother goes to work. One day whilst at work the baby keeps coughing, the Irish woman checks on the baby to see if he’s alright. When she asks the mum about medicine, the mother says there not working, after the Irish woman complains at the doctors, the baby is sent to the hospital. There it is discovered the baby has newmonia, the mother thanks the Irish woman for saving her son’s life and the film ends with a picture of the child in a frame.
I enjoyed this films style of animation, opting to go with a paper putted style with different light layers for backgrounds, props and characters. The design also sets the scene for what kind of time period this story takes place in, being likely the 1950’s, with its look of being worn like a memory. The message of the story is also interesting to me as it highlights a time when immigrants where treated unfairly when it came to medication and that it takes someone from different ethnic origin to stand up for them (In the credits it details how this was a story from “… Irish and Afro-Caribbean Immigrants to the U.K and the evolving relationships to Britishness of their descendants.”.

 Hijack139
Tumblr media
Hijack139 is an animated adaptation of a true story of a plane from Norway being hijacked. A very drunk passenger who drank all his beer, called the airline hostess for more beer, before being given the option or the price he pulled out a gun and demanded more. The man drank lots throughout the flight, other passengers offered him more and even wine, when they arrived the man let all passengers with a connecting flight leave the plane, so everyone did. The police asked what his demands where asking things such as money, fame, power but the man just wanted beer, the police took him in, found out the gun was fake, the man was actually a 24 year old boy and was sentenced for three years in prison.
I liked this animations 3D style and design, the characters and environments look rubbery, allowing them to experiment with movement, especially with the drunk mans swaying body movements and body language. I also liked how the story was also told through rhyme getting a melody stuck in my head and making it memorable. As a quick side note I’m glad they added the real news reports and interviews of the incident, because initially I was sceptical and too silly to be true (I certainly laughed at the response of the passengers).
 The Winter
The Winter tells the story of a man carrying sticks and logs in a foggy snowy wood, the man spots a pack of dear’s one of which has a bright aura which looks like the moon around its head and antlers, the other dears run away except for the specific one and the man investigates. He follows the dear through the wood, until he falls in a deep layer of snow and passes out, he wakes up and realises its day time, with the dear he was following staring at him, but now with no bright aura.
This film looks great and really stands out with its design. This film is crafted with what looks to be figure painting, creating the fine rough bark details on the tree and the brown on the mans coat. I liked the overall atmosphere of this film, going from night to day and the music is a perfect fit for the unfolding story, it gives a sense of mystery and intrigue.
 And Something Else
And Something Else is a story about two crows being controlled and manipulated by a person, who’s face we do not see (only hands). The hands choke the birds, grab the birds, cause them to have an egg and more horrible things. The crows fall out attacking each other and crushing the egg, the hands try to intervene, and the crows fight back, causing the hands to go away, the two find each other beaten and hug.
This film was interesting to watch as for me the premise was not full there for me until the egg sequence. This is a story about manipulation and what it can do to someone and if so, to fight bac and stand up for yourself. The story also had sudden escalation from both a visual and audio standpoint admittedly making jump once or twice. The ending is also justified as the two crows come to terms with one another, knowing that they have both experienced the same thing.
  Pandiculation
Tumblr media
Pandiculation is a short story of men in an important business meeting, however one at the back of the table is tired/ bored. He tries to stay awake and stretches himself discretely, stretching legs, leaning back on chairs, etc. He suddenly lets out a sudden loud yawn, everyone pauses to look at him. Knowing he has been caught he then lets out a giant yawn, which sounds more like a yell and everyone silently stares at him. The rest of the men suddenly do exactly the same in different positions.
The plot of this film is relatable to me as I have been in this situation of staying awake during something important before. It is the exaggerated and comedic movements and timing which rounds this film out perfectly. I had an idea of what was to come with the definition of Pandiculation (meaning the act of stretching oneself, usually followed by a yawn) told me what it meant, but not to this extreme, I laughed at the end when everyone was in an agreement of sorts and joined in.
  Tick
Tick is a story about a woman who keeps giving herself too many to do lists to finish, resulting in no sleep and working constantly. These range from work jobs, self-catering/ care, friend jobs, etc. She gets so into working constantly, that she forgets to feed her fish, the fish watches hinting for her to find him, but she does not. Once everything is finished and a wall of to do lists are filled with ticks, the last tick box is to feed her fish, which has died from dehydration, realising what has happen she puts in the fish food and ticks off the final box.
This film is unique in its message, to me the message is don’t overload yourself with work and lose site in the little more important things. A key feature in this film is the Foley as a variety of sounds can be heard, signalling different meanings. For example there is a faint tick sound of a clock in the background, signifying a concept of time passing and that it is also running out. Another is the sound of a kettle whistling, getting louder and louder throughout the film, possibly signifying the sense of pressure that time is running out.
  Today’s talks
 Frances Humphries
My first talk today was with Frances Humphries (Fran fir short) who is a past student from UCLAN and she explained her experiences at UCLAN as well as what she’s been doing since then. She explained how she enjoyed the university and got her first job through it, she also showed us her show reel promoting herself and her work. The show reel was very well put together, signifying that she stands out from the crowd, listing all the types of work she’s done and software she knows how to use. Fran also explained that a lot of her learning was whilst working as clients whereas asking for specific criteria from her.
Fran started working at a company that do festivals, she explained how she had done some adverts and even a sort of training video for sports direct, Fran also explained how the corporate world treats their colleagues with the mind set of making money fast and hitting deadlines. Over time Fran was given the job role of manager due to the previous one leaving, she explained how it was quite a lot at first from animating to animating, talking to clients, managing a team, etc. But still prevails none the less.
Fran also showed us her final projects spanning all her years at UCLAN and the development over the years was certainly there, good to start, great at the end. Fran also hinted about future projects in the second and third year including working with music student for sound and Foley. Lastly she ended with two things like that I feel will stick with me being try “Don’t get too attached to your work.” Because it’s the client could turn you down and the other being to not put yourself in a specific job role and try other things, this is backed up by her methods of learning new things online, even during a client call. Overall this was a very good talk, giving me more insight as to how clients view their workers as well as a potential heads up to what’s to come in my future years at University.
 Joanne Edwards
My second talk today was with Joanne Edwards (Jo for short) who was a student at UCLAN. Jo began by showing us her showreel highlighting some of her work, with a good mixture of clips in there. Joanne then showed us an advertisement she created for North West Helicopter Ambulance Service, being a stop motion story of a child in a car crash, airlifted to hospital and how he wants to work there when he’s older. Jo then showed us a piece she made with the same characters and backgrounds, but this time of her dog terrorising the city, it was cute and funny (She also explained she was inspired by the movie “Frankenweenie”). Lastly she told us the story of how she entered a competition by Aardman animation called “Gromit Unleashed”, where she created a giant Gromit which won and was auction to Nick Park, where the statue resides in his office. This also landed her a works experience with Aardman, where she created props for “Shaun the Sheep” and got to test reel models from “Pirates in An Adventure With Scientists”, unfortunately the footage was never used.
Jo then told and showed us her current project, which looks like its taking off nicely. Jo wrote a book called “Not the Bed for My Rump” which is a children’s story, about a dog (Inspired by her own) who is trying to find the most comfortable spot to sleep. Jo want on to explain how important advertising and spreading the word about a project is, she explained how she created a Kickstarter for the book, of which surpassed its goal and looked for help via other websites. She also mentioned knowing when to stick to your guns and take on board advice, such as when people on Reddit and Twitter thought the title looked inappropriate with the dog on its back, but she stuck to her guns and nothing has changed. Jo also explained how the illustration was made with “Gooish Paint” and “water”, which could be used for two distinct and different designs, great for foreground and background separations as well as characters.
Jo ended by recommended illustration if your thinking of doing a book, but if you want to create your own book, its best to read many other books similar to the one you want to make for reference and inspiration. For Jo, her dog was the biggest inspiration due to how he acts and the general funny nature of Bull terriers. Overall Jo’s presentation was very good highlighting other potential opportunities aside from animation you could, skills you may also pick up from the course and the overall importance of collaboration and advertisement.
Below is a link to the “Not the Bed for My Rump” Kickstarter where you can find more information about the book.

"FAKE NEWS" on-board
Hershey Mae F. Rivera September 18,2020
In writing articles the author must come up with a catchy headline to get the attention of his/her readers. New media operates through social media platforms to cater and easily react to a larger population of social media users, viewers and influencers. Some media outlets tend to use catchy headlines or captions online as their bait in order to mislead their readers from the real story which tremendously affects the emotional capability of users that causes irrational actions.
For example, you scrolling your newsfeed? Then suddenly an article pops up on your social media account and does not favor what you really want and what you believe? Well encountering disgusting news that bursts your impulse and eagers you too share it right away without even reacting an emmoticon says it all!. Think twice in clicking the share button and stop reacting a hoax news cause it will spur unending cycle that in long run makes it viral.
In the Philippines, knocking out fake news is like eating a cake without checking its expiration. You tend to eat up the idea that would supplement your beliefs without examining its sources that usually happens to help curb the proliferation of malicious and misleading information that wears the shoes that belong to the truth.
It is hardly a shame that Filipinos knows that FAKE NEWS EXIST, thus very much disturbing and to top it all ubiquitous on the internet. Media in the Philippines have to constantly contend with online trolls as their articles that do not aid or agree to the powers-that-be are always tagged as “fake news”, whereas fly-by-night and anonymously-hosted websites have a extent foothold to many, if not majority, of Filipino netizens. Why? For the reason that the lure of fake news is stronger than the truth, even when a certain information is already close to the dividing line of illusion as well as bigotry. In this case, the role of the mass media, referred to as the fourth branch of the state as it can expose abuse of power and corruption in the Philippine government is undermined.
To keep you well informed and avoid being misled by rumors that spread like a wildfire take some time to read this articles that might help you distinguish "fake news";
Even Richard Gomez has fallen prey to sharing fake news

The blog was even mentioned that the BBC Channel was the one who reported it yo the public hence it was not prove to be true.

“Considering that the revision process is about to commence, the Tribunal directs both protestant and protestee to observe the sub judice rule,” said the PET. The PET issued the sub judicial rule reminder a week after both the Marcos and Robredo camps publicly traded barbs last month over the supposed delay in the electoral protest. No final date has been set by PET to hear the electoral fraud filed by Marcos against Robredo.

"All that it takes to fight rumors is using common sense, cross-checking a few facts, and then clicking on the ‘delete’ button" - Ethel Booba
The message of comedienne Ethel Booba when she was asked to comment on the proliferation of fake news during her guesting with Ruffa Mae Quinto on Gandang Gabi Vice (GGV) in ABS CBN. Ethel Booba is considered an influencer on the Twitterverse, with more the 1.2 million followers. Although her tone was light and funny on GGV, she took somehow attack clueless netizens and the purveyors of hoaxes.
We should know anonymously-hosted websites are most often the creators of fake news and rumors, but it is you, the social media user, it is all up to us, who chooses to forward or delete a message. Bare in mond that the people who will benefit such actions are the scammers it is not for our own good and it might end up getting ourselves in danger. They know which way the Internet traffic is headed and what information it seeks and they can set traps for social media users.
This may be in the form of false web pages, pop up advertisements, apps whose only function is to install a malware into the user’s system and in the long run tend to harvest each and every personal information.
Let's be wise and always undergo a FACT CHECK!

Gas Station Price Signs!

Fireworking is the latest dating trend to describe your rubbish love life
If they’re only lovey-dovey in front of an audience, you’re being fireworked (Picture: Getty)
Let it be known that as long as people keep getting romantically entangled, there will be terrible behaviour designed to bring you pain and misery.
And, of course, there will be catchy dating terms created to describe this sh*t behaviour, because it’s nice to know that our seemingly unique experiences are in fact common enough to warrant their own name.
The latest term is fireworking.
Fireworking, as created and defined by Grazia, is essentially the opposite of stashing.
To firework is to date someone for the purpose of putting on a display to other people. A fireworker might be trying to make an ex feel jealous, impress their friends, show their parents that they’re not horribly alone, or seem impressive on social media for general clout.
If you’re being fireworked, you’re being used to show off. That’s sort of flattering because it implies you’re hot enough to be an effective way of showing off, but also soul-destroying, as the fireworker is more concerned with other people’s opinions of them than with actually being in a healthy, loving relationship with you.
Signs you’re being fireworked include spotting your photos all over their social media feed, especially in fancy locations designed to inspire envy from their followers.

You might notice that they’re not that affectionate IRL, but will suddenly be very cute and cuddly in front of cameras, in front of other people, or when expressing their affection on social media.
Now, this isn’t an openly evil, callous act, unlike lots of other dating trends.
Some people are just over-sharers on social media – that’s fine, and not the same as fireworking. The issue comes when the affection is only being put on when it’s for show, while your date is cold and withdrawn when it’s just the two of you. Essentially, do they treat you like they actually like, care about, and respect you? Or do they only care about looking like the perfect partner?
We all do fakery on social media to some degree, only sharing our most interesting bits and the most flattering photos, but when the difference between your relationship online and your bond IRL is making you miserable, it’s time to have a serious chat.

Sit down and ask your partner what’s going on. If the way they’re posting and acting is making you uncomfortable, say so – it’s perfectly reasonable to have your own boundaries when it comes to what’s kept private and what’s open to the public.
You’re not a reality TV star who needs a relationship to get sponsorship deals and you’re also not a character in a zany romcom – there’s really no reason for you to stay in a relationship that’s neither real nor fulfilling.
If you’re being fireworked, get out of there before you get burned.
Dating terms and trends, defined
Breadcrumbing: Leaving ‘breadcrumbs’ of interest – random noncommittal messages and notifications that seem to lead on forever, but don’t actually end up taking you anywhere worthwhile Breadcrumbing is all about piquing someone’s interest without the payoff of a date or a relationship.
Caspering: Being a friendly ghost - meaning yes, you ghost, but you offer an explanation beforehand. Caspering is all about being a nice human being with common decency. A novel idea.
Catfish: Someone who uses a fake identity to lure dates online.
Clearing: Clearing season happens in January. It’s when we’re so miserable thanks to Christmas being over, the cold weather, and general seasonal dreariness, that we will hook up with anyone just so we don’t feel completely unattractive. You might bang an ex, or give that creepy guy who you don’t really fancy a chance, or put up with truly awful sex just so you can feel human touch. It’s a tough time. Stay strong.
Cloutlighting: Cloutlighting is the combo of gaslighting and chasing social media clout. Someone will bait the person they’re dating on camera with the intention of getting them upset or angry, or making them look stupid, then share the video for everyone to laugh at.
Cuffing season: The chilly autumn and winter months when you are struck by a desire to be coupled up, or cuffed.
Firedooring: Being firedoored is when the access is entirely on one side, so you're always waiting for them to call or text and your efforts are shot down.
Fishing: When someone will send out messages to a bunch of people to see who’d be interested in hooking up, wait to see who responds, then take their pick of who they want to get with. It’s called fishing because the fisher loads up on bait, waits for one fish to bite, then ignores all the others.
Flashpanner: Someone who’s addicted to that warm, fuzzy, and exciting start bit of a relationship, but can’t handle the hard bits that might come after – such as having to make a firm commitment, or meeting their parents, or posting an Instagram photo with them captioned as ‘this one’.
Freckling: Freckling is when someone pops into your dating life when the weather’s nice… and then vanishes once it’s a little chillier.
Gatsbying: To post a video, picture or selfie to public social media purely for a love interest to see it.
Ghosting: Cutting off all communication without explanation.
Grande-ing: Being grateful, rather than resentful, for your exes, just like Ariana Grande.
Hatfishing: When someone who looks better when wearing a hat has pics on their dating profile that exclusively show them wearing hats.
Kittenfishing: Using images that are of you, but are flattering to a point that it might be deceptive. So using really old or heavily edited photos, for example. Kittenfishes can also wildly exaggerate their height, age, interests, or accomplishments.
Lovebombing: Showering someone with attention, gifts, gestures of affection, and promises for your future relationship, only to distract them from your not-so-great bits. In extreme cases this can form the basis for an abusive relationship.
Microcheating: Cheating without physically crossing the line. So stuff like emotional cheating, sexting, confiding in someone other than your partner, that sort of thing.
Mountaineering: Reaching for people who might be out of your league, or reaching for the absolute top of the mountain.
Obligaswiping: The act of endlessly swiping on dating apps and flirt-chatting away with no legitimate intention of meeting up, so you can tell yourself you're doing *something* to put yourself out there.
Orbiting: The act of watching someone's Instagram stories or liking their tweets or generally staying in their 'orbit' after a breakup.
Paperclipping: When someone sporadically pops up to remind you of their existence, to prevent you from ever fully moving on.
Preating: Pre-cheating - laying the groundwork and putting out feelers for cheating, by sending flirty messages or getting closer to a work crush.
Prowling: Going hot and cold when it comes to expressing romantic interest.
R-bombing: Not responding to your messages but reading them all, so you see the 'delivered' and 'read' signs and feel like throwing your phone across the room.
Scroogeing: Dumping someone right before Christmas so you don't have to buy them a present.
Shadowing: Posing with a hot friend in all your dating app photos, knowing people will assume you're the attractive one and will be too polite to ask.
Shaveducking: Feeling deeply confused over whether you're really attracted to a person or if they just have great facial hair.
Sneating:When you go on dates just for a free meal.
Stashing: The act of hiding someone you're dating from your friends, family, and social media.
Submarineing: When someone ghosts, then suddenly returns and acts like nothing happened.
V-lationshipping:When someone you used to date reappears just around Valentine's Day, usually out of loneliness and desperation.
You-turning: Falling head over heels for someone, only to suddenly change your mind and dip.
Zombieing: Ghosting then returning from the dead. Different from submarineing because at least a zombie will acknowledge their distance.
