Whitmer, the incumbent Democratic governor, has sought to anchor her campaign in defense of abortion rights in the state, with Democrats hoping to draw a contrast with Dixon, who made headlines last week for defending an abortion ban without exceptions for rape or incest. But Michigan operators speculated leading up to Trump weighing in that his endorsement could help seal the nomination for her. Perhaps most prominently, the DeVos family - a mainstay of Michigan’s conservative movement that includes former Trump-era Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos and her husband Dick DeVos, the 2006 GOP gubernatorial nominee - got behind Dixon.Įven before Trump’s endorsement, Dixon was seen as the nominal favorite in the primary. She has scored endorsements from the state Chamber of Commerce, the anti-abortion group Michigan Right to Life and others. But since the signature scandal, Republican power centers in the state have coalesced around Dixon. Capitol.ĭixon’s top competitor for the nomination is likely Kevin Rinke, a first-time candidate and businessman who has poured millions into the contest. Ryan Kelley, another candidate in the race, was then arrested by the FBI for his participation at the Jan. A pair of leading candidates - former Detroit police chief James Craig and self-described “quality guru” Perry Johnson - were booted off the ballot after election officials uncovered a large amount of fraudulent signatures on their nominating petitions. The Republican primary in the state has been one of the most chaotic races this cycle.

this memory slapped me in the face today and now wondering if you know these as well

OH. MY. GOD.

I just felt like I travelled through time and back. These cartoons were literally my childhood!!

I LOVED watching these when I could. I wasn't lucky enough to see a lot of "Reksio" episodes but it was a series that I knew well nonetheless! My neighbour even used to have a computer game where you built a rocketship as him! As for "Bolek i Lolek" I remember some episode plotlines to this day. They were a pretty goofy pair of brothers and I think they had a girl friend too!

These weren't the only things that I watched though. I had a tape with "Rozbójnik Rumcajs" and still own DVDs with stuff like "Krecik" (BIG PERSONAL FAVOURITE!!!), "Zaczarowany Ołówek", "Casper" and others. I even used to own a tape with the first ever mlp movie (like THE FIRST FIRST, GEN 1) but my mom threw it out which made me super upset at the time! The ones that had the biggest impact on me I'd say were "Krecik" and "Makowa Panienka". God I'd watch the latter one so much. The ladys called like the name of the series and the butterflys name is Emanuel :)

I don't typically write about podcast business partnerships, but this one is significant enough to expend some keystrokes. Check out season two of KQED’s award-winning investigative podcast On Our Watch, which is a gripping tale of corruption and tragedy that takes listeners inside California State Prison, Sacramento, also known as New Folsom. The show exposes the human cost of a system that promises to keep people safe, but instead is bent on protecting itself. Hosted by criminal justice reporter Sukey Lewis with reporting by Julie Small, “On Our Watch: New Folsom” tells the story of two correctional officers, Valentino Rodriguez Jr. and Sergeant Kevin Steele, who work in an elite investigative unit and what happens when they report corruption and abuse by their fellow officers.

An NPR and PBS affiliate based in San Francisco, KQED is home to one of the most listened-to public radio stations in the nation. Network Branding 1988-1990 The Best of Original Cartoons

TV Heaven and HA! TV Comedy Network

For a quick minute in the late 1980s, Nickelodeon's ad sales group could not sell Nick-at-Nite advertising ("no one wants black and white reruns!"), so they decided they'd promote themselves as a comedy network.

So, my Fred/Alan partner Alan Goodman and I brought our original idea of TV oldies to a broken down UHF channel in St.Cloud, Minnesota, and renamed Channel 47 "TV Heaven." We got more publicity in three weeks than Nick-at-Nite got three years. Nick-at-Nite parent MTV Networks threatened to fire us from all their networks and we had to resign TV Heaven.

But not before we made some awesome station identifications with our indie animation friends.

In 1990, MTV Networks revived the idea of an all comedy network in a panic after HBO launched the Comedy Channel. Fred/Alan convinced MTVN to brand theirs as HA! The TV Comedy Network, and we went to work.

(Neither The Comedy Channel or HA! succeeded and they merged, Fred/Alan named the venture "Comedy Central" and the rest is comedy television history.)
