why you should read FENCE
dear followers, you may be thinking "what is this obscure comic that you're suddenly full throttle obsessed with. i don't even know you anymore. i'm scared." and so i'm here to tell you what FENCE is and why you should read it
i'm not normally into comics, or stories about gay teenage boys doing sports. i prefer books about adult lesbians who can't do ten jumping jacks without getting lightheaded. BUT this series is magical, i swear. it takes a lot of tropes that are common to the genre and plays with them in such interesting ways.
here's our hero, nicholas, who has nothing but $2 and a dream of becoming a great fencer:
Tumblr media
and here's nicholas' father, who doesn't know he exists:
Tumblr media
and here's seiji katayama, ranked second nationally:
Tumblr media
and here's how it starts off for them:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and here's where they're headed:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and who's that blond guy? i hope it isn't jesse coste, top-ranked fencing royalty, nicholas' unknowing half-brother, and seiji's ex-"something"...
there's a diverse cast of other characters to love, more than i can list here (but special shout out to the adorably energetic bobby, sunshine captain harvard and campus heartbreaker aiden, his bff and secret admirer).
Tumblr media
this story truly goes beyond what you'd expect from the genre. it's fun, funny and super cute, but it's also got a real sense of tension, of rivalry, of steadily simmering romantic potential that puts it in a league of its own. and, it's not explicitly stated (yet?) but this is def def def an ADHD/autism romance in the making.
we fence fans are a small community but we're really worried about this series not being able to continue if there's not enough interest. so i can't recommend enough that you check it out, and if you like it, buy it and show your support!
so far there are 5 volumes (each consisting of 4 single issues), and 3 out of 4 of the next volume (fence: redemption) have been released. the next issue is out on September 13, 2023 and it's gonna be a fucking juicy one.
where to buy: preferably your local comic shop, if not then bookshop.org to support local bookstores, or any retailer of your choice!
*if you can't buy it or find it in a library, you can find it online for free pretty easily via google, but please do buy it if you end up liking it.
i'm out of room for pics in this post but i'm also gonna link you to the special pride edition cover of fence: redemption #1 because it's really good. thank you for your time. *ungrips your shoulders*

Hello! I was wondering if you had any resources for doubt in your faith and God? I know doubt is a very healthy part of faith, but it still feels very scary. I've always believed in God but lately I've been doubting lately, and it genuinely makes me sad. I feel like God has held me so many times and has been there for me and others so many times, but for some reason I still doubt. I have OCD and it attacks the values I care about the most, and I'm pretty sure why I'm doubting God so much is because of that. It just scares me because I genuinely don't want to let go of my faith. It also feels awful because sometimes I pray and try to connect with God and im very content and believe in God, and then a couple minutes later I'm back to doubting His existence and it just feels so awful, having these ups and downs. I don't want to let go of God, especially the God that loves me so much. I have nothing against atheists or anything, I just can't imagine myself not believing and trusting in God. If you could also please pray for me that would be amazing. Thank you so much, may God always be with you <3
I'm sending you love and support, anon. Doubt is difficult; it's okay to feel scared or saddened or anything else by it. Doubt being a natural part of faith doesn't change that. Especially when you know your OCD is at play; I feel deeply for you as you struggle with that sense of an internal attack on what you hold dear, and I know God aches for you, too.
I want to start with the promise that when you have doubts, God isn't mad at you for it, or disappointed. God is with you in it. You won't lose your relationship with God, not ever! I know it's one thing to know that logically, and another to truly feel it, but I hope the knowledge brings a little comfort.
My main recommendation is Barbara Brown Taylor's book Learning to Walk in the Dark, which explores a "lunar spirituality" that accepts that faith, like the moon with its phases, waxes and wanes naturally. It also invites the reader to sit with difficult emotions like fear and sadness as important parts of the human experience, with advice for feeling more comfortable with emotions and experiences that those of us raised with a "solar spirituality" are taught to avoid at all costs.
If you're interested, your local library or even church library may have a copy; if not and you're unable to afford a copy for yourself, message me and I'll buy you a copy (ebook or used paperback). (You can read a few excerpts here first if you're not sure whether it's the book for you.)
Beyond that, you may find some helpful stuff in my doubt tag, or my #faith tag.
I will be holding you in my prayers <3
O God who knows our pain, our fears, our sorrows intimately, enfold this person in your comfort and warmth. Help them feel how your love is without end, without conditions, and is far stronger than any doubt they could have or thought their OCD could construct. Hold them close as they journey through their doubts, and learn to ask questions without fear. In time, may they come know to a joy that is deeper than easy answers, a faith that can weather the chillest doubt and even draw nourishment from that doubt. Amen.

so I really didn't mean to just make 4 episodes and dip for like 3 months. I legit have 2 scripts written and a half dozen comics / graphic novels in the queue. it was going to happen. but then I got a little overloaded with work and decided to take a 2-3 week break to prerecord some episodes.
during that break, something ridiculous happened.
I accidentally purchased the entire contents of a comic book store???
I'm going to discuss this in more detail on the podcast itself (because it deserves a whole ass or multiple whole ass episodes), but here are the basics...
my friendly local comic book store went out of business VERY suddenly. I'm talking it was open and operating as per usual and then one day they were like "we're closing down, everything needs to be gone immediately. big sales starting tomorrow."
which, you know, sucks.
I had just gotten back into comics and had been going to this store for a few months.
every week. every wednesday. for months.
I was becoming a part of the local community. learning about comics. spending too much money on them. the usual.
it was awesome.
so to have this happen so abruptly was jarring. I spoke with the owner and main employee who I'd gotten to know, and there is a bigger story here (which we're saving for the pod, sorry folks), but essentially they announced it Tuesday evening and needed to be out by end of day Friday.
at first I was just like "aw man, what a bummer." but then my traitorous brain had an idea.
~ you are a vendor at a store. yoooou could buy some comics. yooooooou could sell them. youuuuuuu. ~
me.
I had some cash in my savings. not enough, I thought, to buy them out. but I could get some cheap inventory. woo deals! and whatever.
so on Wednesday I go talk to the owner in person.
yes, he will sell me some comics for cheap. yes he will also sell me some of the custom built shelves for said comics. but it needed to be done IMMEDIATELY.
ok I can get some movers I say. they will get the shelves for me.
they need to do it tomorrow he says. "we'll see if the doors are even open tomorrow or if the pm changes the locks." he shrugs. I am concerned. but I move forward anyway.
movers come and get the shelves (thank fuck the locks weren't changed? and thank fuck for last minute movers omg). they are brought to my house and put in my garage. I go back to the flcs after work and pack up boxes of comics. customers continue to shuffle in and buy comics too. yay deals and whatever.
customers are sad about the closing. I am sad. we do not understand. (dear reader, I later understood, but in that moment none of us knew what the fuck was happening.)
I have the shelves. I have some books (not a lot though, and those shelves are BIG). I am now concerned about two things. number 1, will the other local stores come and swipe all the inventory out from under my nose leaving me with very large shelves and not enough inventory? and number two, how much is this going to cost me?
you see in all of the hubbub we had not agreed on a price for the comics. I paid for the shelves and for a few initial comics. I had not paid for the rest. we weren't sure how much would be left over. it's hard determine price ahead of time. so many comics, you see, and how do we count them all? (answer: we don't.)
and there were many, reader. many.
now I had known for a while that the owner wanted to sell the store. he had a very high asking price. very very very high. I could not afford the whole fucking store at his price. or even half of his price. or even a quarter of his price. or even an eighth of his price. maaaaaaaybe I could do 1/10th?
so how in the fuck was I going to afford the rest of the inventory? well I assumed I wouldn't and I wasn't.
and you know what they say about assuming.
...something about becoming donkeys? I digress.
so Wednesday I bought some comics. Thursday I got the shelves and some more comics. here comes Friday. there are still many many comics. the other stores did come buy stuff, but there was still so much left over.
HOW MUCH WILL THIS COST ME DAMMIT.
...
...
turns out, not a whole lot.
the owner was like "fuck it" and sold me everything for very cheap. he kept saying "I was just going to donate it anyway" ā€“ which maybe you shouldn't say to the person you want to pay you for the stuff? but ok?
not only did I get comics, I got 4 cardboard cutouts of superheroes, a small handful of toys, some framed artwork, folding tables, a spinny old school rack, paper bags, a price gun, a sandwich board, and other random shit.
because it needed to be OUT.
ASAmotherfuckingP.
it was exhausting. I moved so many heavy boxes filled with books. I brought them to my house. I didn't know what to do. I was expecting a handful of comics.
I got the whole damn store.
at first, you know, like an idiot, I estimated that I got 3 (maybe 4?) thousand comics. and 3k comics is no joke.
after going through them and preparing them for my store, we reevaluated. we think there are actually about 10,000 comics and a couple hundred books.
I didn't even pay 1/10th of the store's asking price.
this post is long, and there is more to the story. like how we dealt with the inventory (yes we, I got some help thank fuck), the random stuff we found in the comics, what all actually happened with the closing, etc. but I'll leave you with this.
you are me. you just spent a significant but not devastating amount of money on 10k comics and some VERY large shelves. it is all in your garage. it got there in a matter of 40-60 hours. you can no longer park your car in your garage. all of the comics need to be priced, and most need new bags and boards. due to the speed in which we had to move, the comics were not boxed up in order. they are not organized anymore. this is a massive undertaking. the project of all projects.
you stand in the garage wondering what just happened. what did you do. why did you do this. how is this your life now. there are so many boxes. this is so much work. but you're way to deep in it now. there is no return.
reader. dearest reader. in this situation, if you are me, what would you have done?
genuinely I am curious. plz let me know.
and thanks for reading.
(this is actually real and not a short story. I have thousands of comic books that I didn't originally intend to buy. I accidentally bought a comic book store. what have I done. the floor is comics.)

Exhaustively is going to print!
The story of a girl and her golem. Both agree sheā€™s not doing well on her own, but the golem has his own ideas on how best to help herā€“not that sheā€™s willing to hear them. A slice-of-life about family, college, magic, and speed-stacking.
I will be printing a select few limited edition bound copies of Exhaustively, newly re-edited, and shipping them within the United States based on interest. Each book will cost a flat fee of $13, which will cover a copy with shipping throughout the US. I am happy to sign, personalize, inscribe, and/or doodle in each copy for you.
Interest check available until 7/31/22, at which point I'll DM everyone. You can also DM, Discord, email, etc. to ensure a copy now, and I'll ship as soon as I have them in.
More info (pricing transparency) below the cut!
I'm not doing this to turn a profit, but I can't afford to lose money on making funky limited edition souvenirs, hence the pricing. I will inherently take the hit on the proofs, and theoretically lose money on the time spent, but hey that's writing. I clarify this because Something's Not Right, my published book, is $10! You'll see in the pricing that a substantial amount of this is the middleman situation where I ship to myself and then ship to you, because the book will only have a limited release.
Math: Shipping 10 books from Lulu to me costs $13.44 for shipping and $3.83 per book. Shipping one book from my state across the country costs roughly $3.25, while individual bubble mailers for each book will cost $1.79 each at my local post office. An individual book thus works out to ~$10.22, assuming nothing goes wrong.
If you want multiple copies, I'm happy to slice US shipping off the price of the extras and make all but your first copy $10! Same goes if you're ordering just one copy but want it in person (and, of course, that is physically possible).
If you want to support me you are welcome to pay more, tip, buy my collection of short stories, go to Ko-Fi or Patreon, or just toss me a reblog! Also you are wonderful. Ask me absolutely any questions you like through asks/DMs/email, and I hope you enjoy!
EDIT: Estimated shipping date right now will be end of August, so please wait up for more updates on that! If the shipping date moves into September, I will individually message everybody who has ordered with that update; otherwise, general updates continue to go here.
Also, if you're international and you want the book anyhow... please ask! The only issue is expense, so if you're willing to pay crazy money for shipping, I'm happy to do it. It's just probably going to be crazy money is all.
EDIT 2: As of 8/31/22, if you want a copy of Exhaustively, please DM me. I'll make up a list of people interested after the initial date, and when I hit 10, I'll DM you all again (no pressure to say yes the second time) and do another printing. This is simply not guaranteed or linear.
EDIT 3: As of 10/31/22, we are done with this round of Exhaustively shipments! Thank you so much to everyone who tipped; you made it possible to donate multiple copies and still come out with an extra $100 to donate to charity during my upcoming OHHOW stream.

Addressing Response to Customer Difficulties: Starting Point
What are the common problems encountered by CMU students nowadays?
In this journal, you will learn about our journey of finding problems and how we were able to come up with this particular product in order to achieve a more efficient and productive academic life for college students.
The first thing we did during the first week was to create a plan on how we will conduct our interview and how many prospective people we need including the college they should be from. The team agreed on making interviews by pair; one person will do the asking while the other will do the documentation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After some interviews, we gathered all the information and shared it together with other members.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After giving it some thought, we took notes of the problems raised and created possible solutions to each of them. The next day, we interviewed another group of people for further investigation. The following is the summarization of the data gathered from respondents.
Data Gathered:
ā€¢ 2Males (From Agriculture) - Problem: Garbageā€™s on Agriculture Benches
ā€¢ 1 male (From CAS) - Problem: Lack of trash bins & sometimes no water on Comfort Rooms
ā€¢ 1 Female (From CFES) - Problem: CMU market is too far printings
ā€¢ 1 Female (From CBM) - Problem: CMU market is too far school supplies
ā€¢ 2 Females (Graduate Students) -Problem: Financial problem
ā€¢ 1 Female (Veterinary Medicine) - Problem: CMU market is too far printing
ā€¢ 1 Female (Education) -Problem: Slow internet
ā€¢ 5 Females (CAS, Psychology) -Problem: Lack of benches
A total of 14 customers are interviewed. And then we all gathered together to brainstorm and discuss our possible plans.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
In consideration of the dataā€™s we have gathered while conducting interviews, we noticed that there was diverse array of problems from our customers' answers. The group decided to formulate possible solutions to the problems while also considering the opportunity to profit. The most significant one was financial problems, our chosen solution for this was to construct or create a platform for a marketplace where we will play the role of a broker. It aims to give opportunities for students to:
1. Dispose of their old possessions through selling second-hand items (books, print-outs, yoga mats, swimsuits, etc.) 2. Allows them to buy items at a lesser price. 3. Easy access for available boarding houses in the area.
However, it requires a lot of estimations and assumptions and we found out that CMU already has an online marketplace.
Another best alternative we are able to formulate was the solution to the distance of the CMU market in regards to printing services. We came up with the decision to choose the printing problems to be addressed. After considering other variables, the team has made an idea of providing a self-service, coin-generated, Vendo printing machine rather than using a regular printer which needs someone to operate and provide assistance for all the time. It is super convenient and can be less hassle since we only need to provide maintenance for it once in a while. For that cause, we did research if this product is available in the market or is yet to be created.
To find out that it is currently unavailable in the local market, we are advised to manufacture the product ourselves, because formulating it on our own and managing its service function would dampen the fixed cost, causing us to hardly match the value of the product in the value the customers can afford to give which can dampen the possibility of profitability. With that in plan, we established steps to properly manufacture the product and as to where we will market it.
The group formulated the following measures:
ā€¢ Collaborate with people with expertise in the making of the product (IT technicians/ Engineers) ā€¢ Interview experts as to the costs of manufacture, the processes and licenses needed to manufacture the product. ā€¢ Have the estimation as to the possibility of profitability or determine the economic value of the product in a certain point of time. ā€¢ Make a model or prototype of the product, as to the process of using it ā€¢ Devise a clear plan on whom to sell the product.
To sum up, working with other institutions to create a clear plan for marketing your product might be a smart step to access new markets, make use of pooled resources, and ultimately succeed more in the education industry. Our teamwork leads to productivity, innovation, decision-making, communication and personla growth, while also fostering strong relationships among team members.

Ash on the Wind
Chapter 3
After breakfast, Kai and Amelia checked out of the hotel. They spent the morning shopping, buying the items that they would need to get them started in their new home. Kaiā€™s roomy rental car was quite full by the time they purchased Scoutā€™s new cot. Even flat packed, it wouldnā€™t fit into the vehicle, so they arranged to have it delivered to the apartment later in the afternoon. Kai insisted on buying some little extras that they hadnā€™t discussed, such as toys and clothes for Scout. At the toy store, they wandered down the aisles, taking some time to choose a selection of new playthings for the toddler, refusing to accept any contribution for their cost from his mother.
During lunch at Joeā€™s, Amelia called Link. He offered his condolences to her on the loss of the house, extending an offer of accommodation to her at his place. On learning of the couples new living arrangements, Link was happy for them and understood their desire to have Scout with them. He explained that he and Jo Wilson had been planning to take him and Luna to see a puppet show in a local theatre, but he promised to drop him to the apartment at about 6.30.
ā€œMaybe we can call to Maggieā€™s. I havenā€™t seen the others since, well, you knowā€, Amelia said.
ā€œSure. I understand. Itā€™d be good to see them. Plus, we can tell them our newsā€, Kai responded.
Thirty minutes later, Kai brought the car to a stop on Maggieā€™s drive. They took Ameliaā€™s hand as they walked up the drive and knocked. Maggieā€™s flustered face greeted them when the door opened, but her face lit up on seeing them.
ā€œWe wondered where you had gotten to. Glad youā€™re okay. Kai, welcome to my home. Please, come on in.ā€
They followed her in and found Mer and the kids playing a rather rowdy game of go fish in the living room. Mer smiled a greeting and completed the game, before leaving the kids to it to join them in the kitchen. Kai stood and offered a hug to the blonde surgeon, extending their apologies. Meredith was philosophical about events, glad that no-one was hurt. Things could be replaced, she stated. People couldnā€™t.
ā€œSo where did you disappear to?ā€ she asked Amelia.
ā€œThe Central. I didnā€™t mean to leave you guys but seeing the kids in such shock got to me. I was having cravings, so I had to get away to protect my sobriety. So, you know, I have been to a meeting and with Kai here, I feel better.ā€
ā€œGood for youā€, Mer offered a warm smile. ā€œI get it. How does that line go from the Big Book? You call it, you got it? Something like that?ā€
Amelia nodded, relief clearly visible on her face. ā€œI was so worried youā€™d be mad.ā€
ā€œNot at all. To be honest, this place has felt beyond chaotic. Iā€™d have gone to a hotel if I had had the choiceā€.
ā€œThatā€™s got to be expensive. You two should stay here until you figure things out. Itā€™s tight here but weā€™ll find you a spotā€, Maggie offered.
ā€œActually, that wonā€™t be necessary.ā€ All eyes landed on Kai. ā€œSheā€™ll be coming to live with me. We are moving in to together. Here, in Seattle.ā€
There were a million questions, demands to see pictures of the apartment, but, the women were happy for them.
Talk inevitably turned to the fire. The investigation into its cause was still ongoing but it was likely that lightening was the culprit. While the insurance company was playing hardball, they were likely to pay out. Meredith thought that she would sell the plot and draw a line under her time in Seattle. Her move to Boston had been delayed by a month, giving her time and space to get her business complete. In the meantime, she would be working on a part-time basis but not as chief. That role was currently being fulfilled by Teddy Altman, who it was hoped would be given the position permanently.
With the apartment still to be prepared, Kai and Amelia said their goodbyes just over an hour after theyā€™d arrived. Amelia was much more at ease now that she had seen her sisters and that she knew that they werenā€™t mad with her for staying at the hotel.
The apartment was on the second floor of a nice looking complex. It was spacious, with two bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, and a kitchen. It faced onto a communal garden that showed evidence of children. The furniture was old but very serviceable. With a few throws and strategically placed cushions, it would be a comfortable space.
After a walk around to open the windows and air out the place out, Kai set about bringing the shopping in from the car while Amelia wiped out the kitchen cabinets and stored away their groceries. Next, they vacuumed and dusted, before making the bed and unpacking their clothes and toiletries.
When they were finished, Amelia made coffee and they plopped down on the sofa for a well-deserved break.
ā€œSo, Shepherd, are you happy?ā€
ā€œYes. Itā€™s small. I mean, where will all your stuff fit? Your drum kit and guitars need to be kept away from Scout, or else our new neighbours will kill us!ā€
ā€œI will have to put them in storage I guess.ā€
Amelia was quiet for a few minutes, thinking the situation over. It didnā€™t seem right that Kai should go without their stuff. If only there were more space.
ā€œWhat if we looked at houses?ā€ she suggested. ā€œWhen youā€™re here full time. I mean if you are planning on staying here permanently. Thereā€™d be room for your music stuff and a yard for you to fill with plants.ā€
Kaiā€™s smile widened as she spoke. ā€œGreat minds think alike. I was literally just thinking the same thing.ā€
She laughed. ā€œGodā€, Kai thought. ā€œSheā€™s so beautiful when sheā€™s happyā€. They looked at her, eyes moving between her eyes and lips. They felt themself drawing closer before their lips meet in a soft, tender kiss, which was cut painfully short by a knock. ā€œThatā€™ll be the cotā€, Kai sighed.
Using tools from a hefty looking toolbox, Kai made short work of putting it together. They made it up, placing plushies around it for Scout to play with. With careful thought, Kai arranged the other toys around the room. The finished product filled Ameliaā€™s heart with joy. There had once been a time when she had thought that Kai would never accept her son and now, here they were, fussily arranging toys in a room for him.
Wrapping her arms around their waist, she pulled herself close to Kai. ā€œThank you, for everything. This is wonderful, perfect and I love youā€.
They turned in her arms and rested their chin on the crown of her head. ā€œI should be thanking you. In my wildest dreams, I could never have seen this happening for me. You, me and Scout, our family. You gave me this and for as long as I live, I will thank you for that.ā€
ā€œYou are giving that to me too. This wouldnā€™t be happening to me without you, and I will love and thank you forever for that.ā€
ā€œForever. I like the sound of that.ā€
ā€œGive it a week, you might just change your mind.ā€
ā€œNot a chance, Shepherd. Not a chance.ā€
They lifted their chin and with a finger, lifted hers so that they could kiss her. The kiss was deep and passionate, full of the purest love and emotion. As they were leading her to their bedroom, another knock came. They moaned in unison and frustration. ā€œLinkā€, Amelia said. ā€œScout!ā€ added Kai.
The toddlers face lit with a big toothy grin when they saw Kai with her mom. ā€œKai-Kaiā€, he babbled, reaching out for them to lift him from his fatherā€™s arms. Amelia rolled her eyes in mock annoyance. ā€œTurn coatā€, she playfully chided the boy. He didnā€™t seem to notice as he focused on Kaiā€™s smiling face. Link could see how comfortable Scout was with Kai and how they clearly doted on him. It put his mind at ease to know that he was in such good hands. Wishing them well, he left them to settle Scout in and to enjoy their evening together.
Kai gave Scout a tour of his new home, showing him its key features and points of interest. It ended in his room, where the two spent an hour playing with his new toys. Having left them to enjoy their fun, Amelia smiled to her self as she prepared Scouts dinner in the kitchen. She had to call Kai twice before they came down the hallway to eat.
Scout ate sitting on his moms knee. It was messy and prompted her to comment on the need to get a high chair in the coming days. When he was done, they bathed him together. Kai had him in fits of giggles, splashing him gentley with water and giving him a bubble beard.
In his pyjamaā€™s, Kai read him a story, doing the characters voices. He was soon asleep, tuckered out by the days excitement.
Kai insisted on cooking for her and she was happy to let them. Cooking wasnā€™t her forte. They whipped up a simple pasta in sauce meal and they ate in comfortable silence. After, they tried to watch some TV but found that they too were tuckered out by the day. They shared the bathroom as they washed up and brushed their teeth. In their room, they slipped into tshirts and short and fell into bed.
Amelia rested her head on their chest, listening to their heart beating. She felt her eyes grow heavy as the played with her hair. Kai loved the feel of her head on their chest. They felt like her protector and it give them a sense of pride.
In the space of two days, Ms Amelia Frances Shepherd had changed their whole world and they couldnā€™t have been happier. Sure, theyā€™d have to be back in Minnesota for a few more weeks, getting their loft there vacated and tying up loose threads at the clinic. Normally, the thoughts of being away from her would cause them to ache. Knowing that this time would be the last time it would be happening, they felt positive and upbeat.
ā€œLove you, ā€˜artleyā€, Amelia muttered, already half asleep.
ā€œI love you too, Shepherd. More that you will ever know.ā€

do you have any advice on how to get the wmmap paper dolls books? or is itsuper exclusive merch? sorry for asking i'm just super curious!
Currently the only way of buying the paper doll book is finding it being sold on a second-hand shopping site. When KW Books' (Carrotoon's parent company) official store had just launched, they put some leftover stock of wmmap's limited editions up for sale. I guess that could happen again, but 1. Going by their wording, it seemed like a "just this one time" type of deal; and 2. You would have to buy volume 3's limited edition, which could be way more expensive than buying the piece of merch individually. Also, wmmap's volumes got sold out in like, a couple of hours.
Anyways, the fastest and safest way of buying any rare merch is keeping an eye on reseller sites. I'm not too sure about the korean scene, since I use japanese sites. My go-to site is Mercari, but there's also Suruga-ya, Yahoo! Auctions, Ebay, etc. I recommend Mercari because it's easy to use with proxy companies that help you out with the buying process, such as Buyee (probably the easiest one to use? but there are others like Zenmarket, Treasure Japan, etc. I can vouch for Treasure Japan and Buyee since I've used them several times). I have seen korean and japanese fans selling the paper doll book on Twitter once or twice, but the person most likely won't ship internationally (I asked lmao).
TL;DR: 1. Search for wmmap on reseller sites (using its japanese, korean, chinese, etc., spelling depending on the site you use). The paper doll book is super rare, but I have seen it a bunch of times, so eventually it should reappear; 2. If you can't buy it directly, use a proxy company as middleman (Buyee is pretty reliable, but depending on your country there might be better options from local stores). That's it!
As for prices, it honestly depends on your luck. Sometimes you'll find second-hand merch at pretty fair prices (for books I think anything around $20 USD is worth it, but this heavily depends on your currency's exchange rate), and other times people will ask for a crazy amount of money. Merch that has been opened, used or that has any type of damage will always be cheaper, so sometimes it's best to buy "not perfect" merch. My advice is to also consider the shipping cost and possible import taxes before making any purchases.
Oh, also, I don't recommend buying from Etsy resellers. They always overcharge way too much and I've heard many cases of people not receiving everything they had bought from them.
Wow, that was a long answer...

Fun Things To Do in Medford Oregon
Tumblr media
Medford, Oregon is a fun place to visit. It has great food, beautiful scenery, and plenty to do! I'm going to tell you about some of my favorite places in Medford so that when you come to visit you can have an awesome time too.
Vodka tasting at Crater Lake
Tumblr media
Want to get a more sophisticated buzz? Some of the best vodkas in the country are made right here in Medford, Oregon. The vodka is distilled from potatoes and aged in barrels that were once used for bourbon or whiskey. A local family runs the distillery, and they produce their own spirits onsite. The business also has tasting rooms where you can sample any of their fine liquorsā€”including gin, rum, and whiskeyā€”to your heartā€™s content!
If you want to learn more about this process, check out one of these two cool events:
Vodka 101: A Tasting Class ā€“ $35 (2 hours)
Learn how vodka gets made by touring Crater Lake Distillery before taking part in an educational tasting session that will teach you how to identify different types of vodkas by taste alone (no glasses required). This class starts at 10 am every Saturday morning but spaces fill up quickly so be sure to book well ahead if you want to attend!
Go to the Medford Farmers Market.
Tumblr media
The Medford Farmers Market is a market where you can buy fresh produce, homemade food, and products, and even get your pet's food. The location of market is at the corner of Main Street and Riverside Drive. You can expect to find vegetables that are in season, as well as some out-of-season vegetables or fruits. There are also meat products sold here such as beef jerky, bison burgers, chicken breast strips, and pork chops. You can also purchase desserts like brownies or cookies from local bakeries like Big O's Cookies & Sweets (which has been featured on Food Network).
The farmers market is open every Saturday from 8 AM to 1 PM during spring through fall months (November - April), and closed during winter months (May - October). Admission into the market costs $0 for adults due to its location being part of a public park area; there will be booths selling tickets for rides/attractions nearby if interested in those activities instead!
Hike Table Rock
Tumblr media
If you like to hike, Table Rock is the place for you. This trail is short and sweet, but itā€™s also a great workout. The trail begins at the Crater Lake Lodge and climbs up several switchbacks before reaching Table Rock (a 1,200-foot elevation gain). Once at the top of this plateau-like rock, youā€™ll be rewarded with views of nearby Wizard Island, Mount Scott, and Mount Thielsen in addition to Crater Lake itself! If you get lucky with weather conditions or go during peak wildflower season (May), there are tons of wildflowers along the way that will make your hike even more magical.
Visit the Rogue Creamery.
Tumblr media
Located in a tiny town called Central Point, this artisanal cheese maker is well-known as a tourist attraction. In addition to making some of Oregon's best cheeses and ice creams, it has a tasting room and gift shop where you can sample its delicious products. There's also a restaurant that serves up fresh sandwiches and soups made with their cheese (and you thought sandwiches were just for lunch). If you're not into eating out then stop by for the picnic area where you can pack your own lunch or order one from their restaurant menu to enjoy in the park setting outside!
Look for Sasquatch at Collier State Park.
Tumblr media
If you're looking for something to do that's weird and wonderful, then look no further than Collier State Park. You can find Sasquatch here!
Sasquatch is a legendary creature, which supposedly lives in the forests of Oregon and Washington. It is said to eat berries and nuts from trees, but unlike Bigfoot, it doesn't like beer or pizza (or maybe they just don't get along). As with other mythical creatures such as dragons and fairies, there have not been any real sightings of Sasquatchā€”but that doesn't mean you can't try!
Collier State Park is part of the Coast Range mountains; it covers more than 3,000 acres near the city of Medford. It has plenty of hiking trails where you might be able to spot some furry beasties lurking around the bushes or hiding behind treesā€”check out their website for more information about camping at this park if you want an overnight stay!
Remodeling Services are an effective way

You also have many options when it comes to decoration and colors. Medford has a lot going on so let us help you find something that interests you

Full Stack Bookstore
Welcome to the "Full Stack Bookstore: from idea to market".
In this book, I'll show you how to create your own bookstore to sell your books online.
The website I'm going to show you is my own bookstore where I sell my books, and it's already up and running.
You can access it via https://books.abdelfattah-ragab.com
It's a new and modern website that I created a few days ago, before I published this book, and I built it using the latest web technologies.
By integrating GitHub with Render.com, you can put your changes online by writing a terminal command and hitting enter.
Having your own platform for selling your books is a good choice because you receive 100% of the royalties directly into your payout account.
Another advantage is that you'll make more sales if you pay for online advertising because you're promoting your own store and getting your name in the search engines.
If you keep an eye on your budget, you can start with a hosting plan that will only cost you $13 per month.
Add $16 per year for the domain and associated privacy and security services.
I start from scratch and show you step by step how to build everything from the ground up.
By the end of the book, you'll be able to customize your store to your needs.
If you don't want to work with the code yourself, you can hire a developer and cut the cost in half by starting with a complete project instead of starting from scratch.
I've put together all the core functionalities so that they can be used for many e-commerce applications. If you want to build a store and not a bookstore, you can use all the core modules for authentication, payments and newsletters in your new project and use the development time for your new business details.
On the technical aspects of the project. In this project I use the technologies of NestJS, Angular, PostgreSQL, Stripe, Git and Render.com
We use webhooks to verify that payments have been successfully submitted to your Stripe account before the user downloads the book.
When it comes to security. I focus on security through cutting-edge JWT technology with local, JWT and refresh token strategies that provide a combination of bulletproof security and seamless user experience. With a refresh token that expires 7 days, the user stays logged in for a week, while the access token expires every 3 minutes and issues a new access token based on the refresh token and repeats the last unauthorized denied request, so the user isn't interrupted and doesn't even notice, while ensuring maximum security.
The store will contain the following pages:
Authentication pages for login, registration and password reset.
Admin pages for adding and managing your books, intended only for you as a webshop owner.
Main page with a featured product and a list of available books.
Book detail page where the user can find all book details and buy or download all attachments.
Related books at the bottom of the page that may be of interest to the user.
Search and filter page where users can quickly find books.
Whether you're a business owner, a beginner looking to learn the basics of full-stack development, or an experienced developer looking to expand your knowledge, this book is an invaluable resource for mastering the technologies and techniques involved in building an online bookstore.

Budget-Friendly Getaway: Train Travel Hacks for London to Newcastle
Calling all budget travelers and adventurous spirits! Craving a historic escape steeped in Roman ruins, medieval castles, and vibrant culture? Look no further than Newcastle upon Tyne, a gem in England's North East. But wait, you say, train travel can be expensive! Fear not, for this guide is packed with hacks to navigate the London to Newcastle route for a fraction of the cost. So, grab your backpack, dust off your walking shoes, and get ready for an unforgettable budget-friendly adventure!
Ticketing Tricks:
Advance Booking:Ā The golden rule! Booking tickets 12-16 weeks in advance can snag you massive discounts, sometimes up to 75% off the full fare. Mark your calendars, set reminders, and be an early bird!
Railcards:Ā Consider investing in a Railcard if you plan on traveling by train frequently. The 16-25 Railcard or Two Together Railcard offer 1/3 off fares, while the Senior Railcard grants 30% discounts for travelers over 60.
Split Ticketing:Ā Train travel can be broken down into smaller legs. Research and book each leg separately, often on different train companies, to find cheaper deals. This strategy, known as Split train tickets, involves purchasing multiple tickets for different segments of your journey, which can sometimes be more cost-effective than buying a single ticket for the entire trip. However, it's important to remember to factor in connection times and platform changes when planning your itinerary.
Tumblr media
Flexible Fares:Ā Be open to traveling off-peak! Weekends and evenings often see lower fares compared to weekday rush hours. Consider taking a scenic daytime journey or a relaxing night train to save some pennies.
Savvy Seating:
Consider Standard Class:Ā While First Class offers comfort, Standard Class provides ample legroom and decent seating for a significantly lower price. Remember, the journey is part of the adventure!
Group Discounts:Ā
Tumblr media
Traveling with friends or family? Group discounts can offer significant savings, especially for larger groups. Book jointly and explore the wonders of Newcastle together! Whether you're looking for Newcastle train tickets or planning a group outing, we've got you covered.
Packing Pro-Tips:
Pack Light:Ā Save on baggage fees by packing light. Utilize multi-functional clothing, pack versatile layers, and prioritize essentials. Remember, Newcastle is easily walkable, so ditch the bulky suitcase!
Bring Your Own Food:Ā Train stations can be pricey for food and drinks. Pack snacks, sandwiches, and a reusable water bottle to stay fueled and hydrated without breaking the bank.
Entertainment on a Budget:Ā Download audiobooks, podcasts, or movies beforehand to keep yourself entertained on the journey. Consider bringing travel games or books for group fun.
Exploring Newcastle on a Shoestring:
Free Walking Tours:Ā Immerse yourself in Newcastle's rich history and hidden gems with a free walking tour. Knowledgeable guides will share local insights and point you towards budget-friendly attractions.
Public Transportation:Ā Utilize the affordable and efficient public transport system to navigate the city. Day passes offer unlimited travel on buses, metros, and ferries, making sightseeing a breeze.
Picnics in the Park:Ā Pack a delicious picnic and enjoy the lush greenery of Jesmond Dene or the picturesque Quayside. Soak in the fresh air, stunning views, and vibrant atmosphere without spending a dime.
Museum Mania:Ā Many Newcastle museums offer free entry or discounted rates on certain days. Explore the fascinating Great North Museum, discover local history at the Discovery Museum, or delve into the world of science at the Life Science Centre, all without burning a hole in your pocket.
Hidden Gems:Ā Seek out the city's hidden treasures! Explore the quirky Grainger Market, stroll along the historic Hadrian's Wall, or climb the Castle Keep for panoramic views. Budget-friendly adventures abound in Newcastle!
Remember:
Be Flexible:Ā Be open to adjusting your travel dates and times for better deals. Consider taking slower Trains to Newcastle or overnight journeys for significant cost savings.
Embrace Free Activities:Ā Newcastle boasts many free attractions and events. Research beforehand and plan your itinerary accordingly to maximize your budget.
Seek Student Discounts:Ā If you're a student, don't forget to bring your ID! Many attractions and transport options offer student discounts, so make the most of them.
Pack Reusable Items:Ā Pack a reusable water bottle, shopping bags, and cutlery to minimize waste and avoid unnecessary expenses.
With a little planning and these handy hacks, your London to Newcastle train adventure can be an unforgettable budget-friendly experience. So, pack your bags, embrace the spirit of exploration, and get ready to discover the magic of Newcastle upon Tyne!

Benefits of Buying an Apartment as an InvestorĀ
Source: FreepikĀ
Considering how the economy has depleted over the past few years, we understand how more and more people are looking for alternative income streams. While there are many ways to generate passive income, the real estate market is booming.Ā
For ambitious investors seeking a dynamic entry point into the evolving real estate market, apartments offer many attractive opportunities. Their unique advantages unlock the potential for a secure and fulfilling investment journey, paving the way for consistent returns and long-term success.
Wondering how investing in an apartment helps you out when the economy is crumbling? Continue reading to find out.Ā
1. Steady Rental IncomeĀ
One of the most significant benefits of investing in an apartment is that you can say goodbye to the daily grind. Imagine waking up every day knowing you have a steady flow of income, all because of the investment you made in an apartment, and you will receive a monthly rent, regardless of whether you work regularly.Ā
Thatā€™s the power of investing in an apartment. It transforms into self-operating money machines powered by consistent tenant payments that arrive like clockwork, month after month. This passive income stream offers significant financial stability.Ā
You can use the incoming income to pay your monthly dues or invest them further for future security.Ā
2. Lower Entry PointĀ
One thing that usually makes people afraid of investing in an apartment is that real estate is expensive. Most people typically think about buying land or a house in a new housing society when referring to investing in real estate.Ā
This is where investing in an apartment makes things easier. Apartments boast a significantly lower entry point compared to the often hefty price tags of properties and houses. They are accessible to a broader range of investors, especially those starting or seeking to diversify their portfolios.Ā
With a smaller initial investment, you can still leverage the power of real estate and reap the benefits of property ownership. Donā€™t believe us? Just look at all the new apartment buildings going up for sale in Karachi. They offer all investors a wide range of opportunities, and you can start booking flats in Karachi with the lowest downpayment.Ā
3. Amenities Await
Beyond the spacious units and welcoming lobby, a world of convenience awaits where apartments are concerned. A sparkling pool beckons you for a refreshing dip after work, while the state-of-the-art fitness center offers a chance to break a sweat without leaving home.
Need to catch up on laundry? No problem! The on-site laundry facilities save you precious time and effort. And if you work remotely, ditch the crowded coffee shop and head to the dedicated co-working space for a focused, productive session.
These aren't just perks; they're strategic investments that enhance your apartment's appeal and profitability in multiple ways:
Tenant Magnet: Amenities attract discerning tenants by aligning with specific lifestyle preferences (fitness center for enthusiasts, rooftop pool for leisure seekers).
Rent Booster: Well-maintained amenities like pools and co-working spaces can command up to 10% higher rental income.
Value Amplifier: Amenities contribute to long-term property value, fetching higher resale prices due to increased perceived value.
Community Catalyst: Shared amenities like pools and gardens foster a sense of community, reducing tenant turnover and enhancing property appeal.
Differentiating Factor: Unique amenities like rooftop gardens or dog parks give you a competitive edge and attract tenants willing to pay a premium.
Choosing amenities that align with your target demographic and local market trends is vital. Conduct thorough research and consider factors like the age and interests of your typical tenant, the surrounding neighborhood, and nearby competitor offerings.
4. Lower Maintenance CostĀ
How many weekends have you spent in your home fixing clogged drains or patching leakages throughout the roof?Ā
Investing in an apartment means youā€™re saying goodbye to clogged drains, leaky roofs, and weekend repair marathons. With flats, maintenance hassles become a distant memory. Here's why:
Dedicated Management: Apartment buildings often have on-site staff or property managers who handle the nitty-gritty of upkeep. From leaky faucets to flickering lights, they're equipped to tackle everyday maintenance needs, allowing you to free up your precious time and energy.
Shared Costs: Major repairs in an apartment building are typically divided among unit owners, significantly reducing the financial impact on each individual. Instead of facing the total cost alone, you only contribute a proportional share, making your investment more manageable and less prone to budget-wrecking surprises.
Professional Expertise: Apartment buildings often maintain relationships with trusted maintenance professionals. Plumbers, electricians, and handymen are just a phone call away, ensuring prompt and efficient repairs.
Peace of Mind: Knowing that experienced professionals diligently oversee your property allows you to relax and focus on other aspects of your life, confident that your investment is in good hands.
So, skip the toolbox and embrace the carefree life of owning an apartment. Leave the maintenance worries to the experts and enjoy the freedom of knowing your investment is well-maintained and running smoothly.
5. Access to Prime LocationĀ
When it comes to apartment investing, location is everything. Apartments are often strategically located in vibrant urban hubs, close to desirable amenities like public transportation, shopping centers, and entertainment options.Ā
This proximity attracts a steady stream of potential tenants, especially young professionals and students seeking convenient living arrangements.Ā
Furthermore, the desirability of a central location naturally translates to higher occupancy rates. When vibrant communities surround your apartment buildings, finding reliable tenants becomes significantly more accessible, minimizing vacancy risks and ensuring a steady flow of rental income.Ā
Final ThoughtsĀ
While apartment investing boasts undeniable benefits, it's crucial to approach it with a clear head and thorough research.Ā
Carefully assess your financial situation, risk tolerance, and investment goals before diving in. Conduct due diligence on potential properties, factor in vacancy rates and maintenance costs, and seek professional advice from experienced real estate agents or financial advisors.Ā
Remember, successful apartment investing requires a blend of strategic planning, calculated risk-taking, and a proactive approach to property management.Ā
With the right mindset and a commitment to intelligent decision-making, you can unlock the immense potential that apartment investing offers, paving the way for a secure and fulfilling financial future.

Homemade Oat Milk
With the current economy, we are all looking to save as much as we can with mass unemployment and more redundancies on the horizon.
Here are some helpful recipes, tips and tricks to help you get by during difficult time.
It is also fun to get the kids involved.
In recent years, plant based milk is becoming more and more popular and is a good choice for people with allergies or who are lactose intolerant. Oat milk, coconut milk and almond milk can be lactose free, gluten free if you choose to make from certified organic, and gluten free suppliers.
It takes about 10 minutes to make but can be done in 5 minutes as you get better at making the milk. All ingredients are available at your local supermarket; I will attach links at the end for you.
Oats are also beneficial for the skin; they help to cleanse and hydrate and reduce inflamed skin conditions such as sensitive skin, psoriasis, eczema, acne and rosacea.
Oat milk is also great if you want to lose weight as it is low in calories around 130 calories per cup (almond is lower around 60 calories). It is high in protein like cowā€™s milk, rich in fibre, helps regulate blood sugars and cholesterol, contains essential vitamins A, B12 and D. Another plus is that it is vegan too.
Homemade Oat Milk
You will need:
110g rolled oats or porridge oats
1 date (optional)
15ml vanilla extract (optional)
400ml cold water
A blender
A bowl, Pyrex dish or jug
Muslin cloth or clean towel
Directions
Weigh out 110g of oats
Weigh out 400ml of cold water
Tip the oats in to blender
Ā Add the water, (you can fill it up with water to just below the top) but for a creamier taste, 400ml will be enough. Add the date and vanilla extract to blender and blend for 1-2 minutes
Get your Pyrex dish and put the muslin cloth over the top
Squeeze through the muslin cloth
Finally, pour the milk from the Pyrex dish into a jug and store in the fridge.
I fill it up to the top of my container, which takes about three goes, but a jug is good if you do not have anything else to store it in.
You can repeat the above process twice if needed.
I reuse the oats that have been strained and put them back in the blender and add 200ml of water, then follow the same steps, I donā€™t add any more dates or vanilla extract as it can be too sweet but, some people do like it sweeter.
The oats that are left in the cloth or towel you, can use as a flour or add to your cookies or cakes and it tastes great
Unsweetened is best as this reduces the calories.
The milk will last in the fridge for 2-3 days, be sure to mix up with a spoon before putting in your tea, coffee, slimming shakes, cereal and baking.
The average cost as per ā€œwhere to buy sectionā€ would be around Ā£1.05 for 1kg (1000g) of porridge oats, that is 100g used per pint of milk, you would get around 10 pints of milk for about 0.105p. Thatā€™s roughly 10p per pint
Where to buy
I use my local supermarket
Gluten free porridge oats
Organic porridge oats
Porridge oats
Gluten free dates
Dates
Vanilla Extract
