Ok ik this is old drama, but it seems rlly important now
'Bug Enthusiast or pest enthusiast?' A thread documenting some disturbing content from Pitaya, who could possibly be IdolMantis.
First, I'd like to announce two things; first, don't FUCKING harass anyone involved, and DONT harass Idol himself despite his predatory behavior. I don't condone harassment, witch hunting nor death/suicide baiting. Second, this thread is for, specifically, this reblog chain with a mutual and myself because of some alarming anons talking about Idol and his dark past due to an accidental like/reblog.
This is going to become a thread, as there's a shit ass 10 image limit aughg-
Now, lets dive in. These are from a wayback machine archive, which I can provide links to at the end.
As you saw in the original reblog chain, IdolMantis seems to have had multiple names in the past. Raisinrat, UnicornMantis, Bugcore, Ackee, Pitaya, all these names seem to be connected to Idol himself. Now, Idol is STILL active to this day on Tumblr, Instagram, and Twitter, however he posts for his two web comic series; Monsters and Girls and Bugtopia.
As the two comics aren't anything harmful, they do involve quite alot of implied sexual content with mainly lesbian couples, some of which are drawn to look more androgynous or masculine. If you are under 18 I advise NOT to search out these comics, just to be safe. Idk I don't feel like minors should really get involved in that stuff but someone can correct me if needed. I do not know Idol's gender identity nor sexuality, and it doesn't seem like he's tryna sexualize lesbianism, so I won't speak further on these comics as its not my place to dictate what's good or bad rep.
However its good to keep these 2 comics in mind as we see what he used to be involved with.
The full callout was made by a Tumblr user titled AckeeLoveMail, which seems to be deactivated by now. The blog is pretty much a "critical" blog, or a callout blog, dedicated to a person named Pitaya, who used to have a blog named Bugcore. Bugcore has been archived, but no other info or images were archived correctly.
Remember, Idolomantises (IdolMantis) calls himself a "Bug Enthusiast" on Twitter. I don't know if these two pages are the same, though considering Idol's obsession with bugs... its an alarming possibility.
[Lol remember how we could customize our blogs]
Anyway, there's two main links here; the Bugcore blog link, and "The Callout". That link takes us here;
Notice how its said that he deletes posts and claims people just hate him for no reason.
Hmm....
Also, the beginning of the callout sounds familiar....
Lil offnote, but its said here that he identifies as non-binary. Currently he draws very sexual content of predominantly feminine identifying characters. Again I can't say much, but I do know that I've seen alot of people show concern on masculine ID'ing ppl consume or create content that sexualizes lesbian couples. Again, someone can correct me on that.
Anyway, second part of the callout.
The evidence:
This one is just... weird? Idk. Anyway bc of shitty image limit this is part 1 of... god knows how many posts.

I haven’t been insane about Vi enough lately so time to pour out some random thoughts. free association thinking time:
been thinking about her “It's my savings. I wanna be rich, okay? So I can travel, eat well, buy cool stuff… So no one can say I can't do something!” And none of the following will really be insightful or revelatory because it’s just what she says here but. yeah! that’s vi! the main reason she’s so big on money is because she has to be to get what she wants out of life! it’s what lets her say no to people telling her what to do, and that’s important to her because she has no choice but to be independent and support herself. because no one else will. No one at the Hive had anything positive or supportive to say about her being an explorer until she went out and did it (to a ridiculously successful degree, too. I have to wonder if/how it might’ve differed if she was on a regular accomplishment level team. not the one leading them all to the mission to the Hive). she never had a choice not to be. I could also see that being a little part of why she starts out not really being a teamwork person. past experiences have taught her she can’t rely on anyone else for support. (does make me wonder about what if she’d met Chubee before leaving the Hive. obviously she still would’ve left, but how might even a bit of support have changed other things?)
I feel like we don’t talk about the fact that The Beemerang Is Also Knives enough
ok so at one point there was this post talking about people with money and how it affects their life like. if you can afford to get a nanny then you can only do the fun parts of childcare and when you stop feeling like taking care of the kid you can just hand them to someone else to take them away. and again likely not especially revelatory but I would guess that’s the kind of way queen bianca handled the bees as her daughters (she does care about them. absolutely. but not in the same hands-on attached way as we usually associate with parents) and thinking about how that kind of treatment would then apply to vi....hm
in universes where discussions of Gender and Pronouns etc happen I think she has moments where she gets frustrated with the everything of Being Referred To and Having Complicated Identity She Hasn’t Quite Figured Yet and is like. gender is cancelled how dare you refer to me. but especially anyone else calls me a girl ever i will be stabbing them
also I think a lot about what circumstances she finds out about gayness/Gender being things. and whether she’s thought about it in herself before and whether she’d been dismissed on it/told it wasn’t a thing etc. most circumstances she ends up angry about the finding out times because of (un)consicious internal conflict stuff
underground tavern stuff implies she was definitely doing quests and stuff for money with them precanon. would kill to know what specifically it was. but also the first talk with utter implies that she was doing stuff off that questboard as well which is even more intriguing. utter’s spy also implies you don’t have to be an explorer to do them but otherwise you would think you did I feel. so again very curious what was up there

Oh, I see you have a problem with Windows! Have you tried running the troubleshooter? Oh, it didn't work? Have you tried rebooting, or updating, or reinstalling drivers, or running sfc /scannow or DISM? Oh, what's this? None of that worked because they're intentionally empty solutions? Just reinstall Windows. You're supposed to reinstall your OS every several months, anyway. (Forget about the times when you didn't need to do that. They don't exist, silly!

Carlin Playthings Kmart “Dolphin” Ring Toss Water Game
Please don’t re-post my images/gifs/videos, thank you! 🧡
Here it is! Finally all cleaned up and restored!
This guy was in BAD shape when I got it, filled with nearly opaque murky water and it’s axle snapped, but it’s now about as good as it’s gonna get! The quality of this game is dubious, admittedly, as it’s made with pretty cheap plastic. The yellow ring around the tank is so thin and flimsy that it’s nearly rubber-like? It’s bizarre. But I’m AMAZED that the plug is still usable!
The design is definitely unique as far as these games go, having no pushable buttons, just a wheel shaped tank you must try to spin and stop at just the right moment to attempt to catch a ring or two. It’s going to be nearly impossible to catch all of them because of this, as caught rings will slip off the pegs each time you try again. I don’t believe you’re supposed to catch them all though, considering yellow rings are worth no points at all according to this game. You’ll be lucky if you catch even just two rings, I still have yet to be able to. Part of what makes it so tricky is the pegs being set fairly close to the rear tank wall, making it so rings have a very small area to perfectly slide in. It’s not too fun, but I’ll definitely add points for originality. Good job, Dean. You did your best. Those still aren’t dolphins though.
But yeah! It’s been a journey with this guy, and I’m happy to finally bring you all an ending update to The Milk Water Incident.
